religion will be like, it's because women talk to animals and eat fruit that childbirth is so painful, and the soil so hard to work! Not because we took away all of the midwives and created horrendous agriculture practices

how can you claim to be a man when you never even grew up as a boy?
you were never raised a boy, you have no idea what it's like to grow up as a boy. you were raised as the female that you are.
by what standard did i not grow up as a boy? did i not get dirty enough or pull enough ponytails or play enough catch with my dad? is it that my hair was too long or that my clothes were too pink, or maybe that i was friends with too many girls or had crushes on too many other boys? should i have built with blocks instead of playing house, or liked dogs more than cats, or wanted to become a firefighter instead of a vet? if my grandpa gave me handshakes, not hugs, would that be better for you? if the tears bad been beaten out of me, would i get to be a man?
what of the men who grew up decades or even centuries ago, or somewhere across the world from you? surely, their boyhoods looked different than yours. have they lost their right to manhood too in your eyes, because they didn’t grow up quite right? or is it just us that you expect to live up to one stereotypical concept of what it means to grow up as a boy?
and what if you were right? what if my childhood was girlhood after all? i’m a 22 year old man with a partner of 6 years and a job in the same field as my degree and an adult life that i’m building for myself. how much of myself can you really expect me to define by who i was when i was a child? i would hope you don’t define your life by the way you grew up either; maybe your childhood was good enough to be worth basing the rest of your life on, but that would make you one of the lucky ones. the rest of us will be defining our adult lives for ourselves, thank you very much.

i have an issue with lore olympus's depiction of persephone's "goddess of spring" thing. first of all she shouldn't even be the goddess of spring yet, as spring shouldn't even exist yet. but whatever rachel doesn't understand / care about the myths she’s adapting what else is new.
but also i don't quite understand why, especially in the beginning, rachel chose to make everyone (including persephone) act like "goddess of spring" is like.. an unimportant job? like she's "just" the goddess of spring? does rachel not understand how fucking important the end of winter and the coming of spring would be to a society that relied heavily on agriculture for their food?
idk it seems like rachel thinks spring is just flowers and it shows :-/

“Many young farmers share Kent’s commitment to sustainability, according to a new report from the National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC). In a survey of over 10,000 farmers across the country, 86% of respondents under 40 said they used regenerative farming practices, which the survey defined as “an approach to farming and ranching that builds healthy soils and ecosystems, supports climate-resilient farms and communities, and addresses inequity in agriculture.”
Of course, as the survey notes, regenerative farming practices aren’t new. Indigenous communities — many of whom were pushed off the land they stewarded for millennia — innovated and practiced these farming techniques for generations.
‘Young farmers today find motivation to farm in environmental conservation, anti-racism, and creating healthy, food secure, and climate-resilient communities,’ says Vanessa Garcia Polanco, NYFC’s policy campaign director.
Overhauling the United States’ agriculture system will be crucial to meeting its climate goals. Farms cover about 40% of all U.S. land, according to the most recent census, and agriculture accounts for about 11% of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.”

Indigenous Hawaiians really had a good system going: wake up reaaally early and do most of the days work while it's cool and by the time the sun was up and it got hot the work was done and you're free to surf and socialize. I wish the white people realized they themselves could work smarter and not harder and get time to relax. Instead of calling Hawaiians lazy (and being genocidal about it)
#Ik this happened in most if not all tropical regions that got colonized#they were so pissed that these 'lazy' people got all sorts of fruit and natural bounty 'handed to them'#when those indigenous people were just working before the colonizers woke up and felt no need to kill themselves in midday heat#Which is what's natural for an apex predator: lazing around#Like u see lions in big cuddle puddles during the hottest part of the day. And they have the privilege of laziness by being the top predato#Idk if lions have a specific time they hunt but ik they will hunt at night when people can't observe them#Also Europeans failed to recognize indigenous agriculture and the /purposeful / cultivation of helpful plants (done w/out clearing the land#And even if they were only foraging. Like. If you love the earth and care for it (and not clear it) the earth will love you back idk#Gah! It's just like we coulda eradicated capitalism in its cradle if Euroamericans werent so arrogant and sure their way of life was correc#Like what if they were explorers and not conquistadors and colonizers. And there was a true cultural exchange#Would it have been better if the Europeans never crossed the ocean (even if they weren't there to colonize)? yeah probably#Like while the disease thing wasn't on purpose (initially) Europeans did inadvertently kill a lot of people bc they had no immunity#But I also acknowledge the human desire to explore and see what's out there#But I wish it was like#Europeans: here's some horses and metal tools#Indigenous people: thanks. Here's a way of life more in harmony with nature and an understanding that we're part of the ecosystem#Europeans: oh cool let me bring these ideas back to Europe. Maybe we won't deforest all of England#(I say Europeans but eventually when Canada and America became independent entities they also were responsible for these things)#Capitalism#capitalism is hell#anti capitalism#Colonization#colonialism#colonial violence#Imperialism#conquistador#age of exploration

A must watch 🙂▶️ The message, wisdom, and the bold yet respectful timbre of Zach's voice are so powerful and mesmerizing; you can clearly see that Jay is somewhat overshadowed by him. A pure bliss if you can spare the time.

I don't understand why Metaldehyde is used to control Snail and Slugs in Agricultural, Horticultural and Landscaping settings when Salt Exists, like think of it this way, instead of placing chemicals into Soil where your Food Grows and could easily be swept away by the Elements like Chemical Runoffs from Rainfall.
Why not just invest in Nanotech "Predators" that enter our Soil and when it detects an incoming Slug or Snail it sprays them with Salt, heck make the Tech remote controlled or be played like something out of a video Game where you control the "Predator" via a phone and shoot Salt Bullets at slugs and Snails, you can make the "Predator" JUMP on the plant without hurting it.
We already have that technology, why is everyone withholding this idea? Don't give me the excuse that it's Expensive cause I know it's expensive but why is no one thinking about this?

Capitalism’s endless economic growth prioritizes the individual over community and creates extreme inequality. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I always kinda thought that once the term "ecofascism" would enter public discourse it'd get significantly diluted and just used as a prejorative against anyone who's advocating environmentalist lifestyle changes and perceived to be doing it in a forceful way, and lmao that fucking vegan to ecofascist pipeline post. Like the post does talk about the whole malthusian overpopulation thing but kinda ignores other crucial aspects (like the whole "blood and soil" thing) and it's just soooo telling that the post ultimately ends with "once you start fORciNg YoUR LiFEsTyLE ON oTHerS that's when it gets dangerous" like of course that's what it was about all along.

Anyways every man on Snowpiercer is a DILF and Melanie did the 9/11 anthrax letters because she heard they were getting rid of the anthrax vaccine program and Wilford, who at the time was her only form of impulse control (2001), was too busy eating out a mango to notice

Ukraine is Using Old Anti-Tank Mines as Ammo For Its Robots - Technology Org
The war in Ukraine is the first major armed conflict in the history of the world to see the use of such a wide variety of different robots. And not only for intelligence gathering, but also for direct combat engagements. What are they armed with?
Interestingly, they are usually armed quite cheaply. Drones often drop hand grenades or improvised explosive devices, kamikaze drones are sometimes armed with RPG-7 warheads, while the ground robots carry anti-tank landmines.

In fact, landmines are sometimes dropped on Russian heads by larger flying drones as well. Ukrainians have a lot of anti-tank mines and they are considered very cheap. Many of them remained in warehouses after the Soviet Union collapsed.
In addition, after driving the Russians out of the Kharkiv and Kherson regions, the defenders of Ukraine collected a lot of anti-tank mines there, which they now use in various ways. One way to use them is to return them to the Russians. Aggressively.
A video has been published online showing a Ukrainian robot carrying an anti-tank mine to Russian positions. The mine was then detonated, blowing a large hole in the Russian trenches. These landmines were meant to destroy tanks, so you can imagine that the explosion is really strong.

Ukrainians have developed more than one system capable of using anti-tank mines as ammunition. For example, the photo above shows the small robot Ratel-S. It is quite small, but can reach a speed of 24 km/h. and can be controlled at a distance of 6 km.
The mass production of Ratel-S was reported back in October last year. A robot like that can be sent directly under a Russian tank, if only there is such an opportunity. The Ratel-S can be armed with an anti-tank mine or a pair of mortar bombs.
Meanwhile, the Baba Yaga is a drone that drops anti-tank mines on Russian heads. It is a large 6-rotor drone capable of carrying quite heavy loads. Anti-tank mines like the TM-62 weigh about 10 kg. Of course, Baba Yaga can use other ammunition as well – mortar shells, RPG-7 warheads, etc.. It is also interesting that although the Baba Yaga was created in response to the Russian invasion, the roots of this drone are older – the predecessors of the Baba Yaga were used in agriculture.
Anti-tank landmines are excellent ammunition that cost very little and are readily available. The Ukrainians are very short of artillery ammunition and are trying to compensate for this starvation of shells with drones and robots. The funding for the development and production of unmanned military systems is being increased all the time. And other countries must be watching this very closely. After it’s all said and done, robots of various roles might be the key to the end of this war.
