The University of Cambridge is among almost a dozen UK universities accused of helping to develop Iran’s weapons including “suicide drones”.
At least 11 British universities are involved, with staff producing at least 16 studies with potential Iranian military applications.
Key pieces of research have been conducted by academics at the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, the University of Glasgow, Cranfield University and Northumbria University.
In one project, funded by Tehran, researchers in the UK worked to improve drone engines by boosting their altitude, speed and range. Another British university worked with Iranian researchers to test new controls for jet engines to increase their “manoeuvrability and response time” in military applications.
“It is quite possible these collaborations are assisting in the gender apartheid within Iran, and its hostile interference and violence across the Middle East or even helping to massacre civilians in Ukraine,” she added.

Jet drones spotted over Belgorod region of Russia - Technology Org
A jet drone was spotted over the Belgorod region of Russia. Local Russians are getting used to constant drone attacks and the hopelessness of their own air defences, but they haven’t seen jet drones before. They will now have to get used to them too.

Jet drones circling over the Belgorod region were filmed by local residents. There is almost no doubt that these are kamikaze drones, but it was not reported whether they destroyed anything. It is also not reported whether they were shot down or taken down using some electronic warfare tools. But there are already guesses as to what these aircraft could have been.

In May of last year, it was reported that the United Kingdom had handed over Banshee jet drones to Ukraine. In February of this year, Russian invaders found the wreckage of a similar drone in the occupied part of the Donetsk region. It is believed that the defenders of Ukraine are using British drones for attacks on important targets or have copied the Banshee design and are now producing something similar themselves.
Interestingly, the Banshee was developed back in the 1980s, but had a pusher propeller configuration back then. The Royal Navy only crammed two jet engines into the Banshee’s tail in 2021. This is how the Banshee Jet 80+ was created, which has endurance for 45 minutes and a range of just over 100 km.
The Banshee will certainly not be the longest-range drone in the Ukrainian arsenal, but it has a speed of 720 km/h and goes up to an altitude of 9 km, so it is not the easiest thing to shoot down. It should be remembered that Iran has also developed a jet version of the Shahed-136 drone. Despite the fact that jet drones are more expensive, they are harder to shoot down with the cheapest means, unlike the slow propeller drones.
Banshee drones are used all over the world. Over the years over 8,000 of them were manufactured, mostly with propeller engines. But here’s an interesting detail: Banshee was not designed for the tasks that the Ukrainians are using it for.
The Banshee was originally designed as a target drone for air defence systems. It is used in exercises to test the readiness of soldiers and equipment to counter various threats from the air. The Banshee Jet 80+ was designed for the same task. But the defenders of Ukraine, unfortunately, have no shortage of aerial targets, so they install 7 kg of explosives on the Banshee and send these drones at Russian targets like smaller and slower cruise missiles.
Ukraine received a limited number of Banshee drones. However, these precise tools will certainly do their part in attacking crucial targets in Russia. Lately those have been various objects in the Russian oil industry.

During the projected period, the Indian drone market is expected to grow by around 18% from US$ 920 million in 2021. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is an aircraft without a pilot, crew, or passengers.

"Listen guys, there is no sound of planes (Israel military drones), there is a truce now guys and when I heard about it i was so happy. But it's a temporary truce, only for four days. I pray that during those four days things will get solved and it becomes a forever truce. I swear life is beautiful without the sound of those planes, i'm really happy guys, i swear I'm so happy."
i had to share this here because i can't imagine how Palestinians must feel. to know that there is nowhere to hide, nowhere is safe. not hospitals, nor schools, nor refugee camps, nor mosques, nor churches, nor ambulances, nowhere. every building, every street is a bombing target. the feeling of dread knowing that the killings will resume after four days and yet they hold on to the silver linings.

[📹 Scenes of Iranian missiles flying into Israeli cities tonight after Iran launches a major combined drone and missile strike and several targets in occupied Palestine, coinciding with rockets launched from southern Lebanon.]

IRAN LAUNCHES MASSIVE COMBINED MISSILE AND DRONE STRIKES ON ISRAEL, US INTERCEPTS OVER 100 DRONES
Israeli media is reporting the arrival of dozens of missiles and drones fired from Iran, most of which they claim were intercepted.
According to the Zionist media, while no one was killed in the Iranian strikes, at least one young girl was wounded by shrapnel from an intercepted drone and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Already, Israeli officials are calling for counterstrikes, while the American media refuses to acknowledge the attack on the consulate building of the Iranian embassy that led to the current round of attacks.
The strikes represented the first time Iran has launched direct strikes on "Israel".
Occupation authorities claim that none of drones launched by the Iranians made it through the occupation's air defenses, some missiles succeeded in hitting their targets, while at least 20 missiles never made it to the borders of occupied Palestine.
According to one Israeli official, more than 200 drones and missiles were fired into the occupied Palestinian territories in all.
For now, while the Biden administration continues to reaffirm public support for the Israeli occupation, privately, the President has told Netanyahu he won't back an Israeli counter to the counterstrikes.

Ukraine Among Largest Makers of FPV Drones? This Could Happen in 2024 - Technology Org
Ukraine says it is ready to up its production capacities and reach a million FPV drones made in a single year.

These plans were announced on Wednesday by Ukraine’s minister for strategic industries. He said the country plans to manufacture one million FPV (first-person-view) drones, which are highly sought after on the front line.
Additionally, the country aims to produce over 11,000 medium- and long-range attack drones in the coming year.
Since the initial days of the 2022 Russian invasion, Ukraine has extensively utilized FPV drones—originally designed for personal civilian use but adapted for military purposes—as a cost-effective and efficient option for reconnaissance and attacks.
This strategy has been adopted by Moscow’s forces, and it is currently estimated that they have a significant number of such drones at their disposal.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, the minister, stated on Telegram messenger, “All production facilities are ready, and contracting for 2024 begins.” He also mentioned that the production target includes at least 1,000 drones with a range exceeding 1,000 km (600 miles).

In his nightly video address, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy outlined plans to enhance logistics for quicker operations, emphasizing the efforts to optimize the utilization of drones, particularly FPV drones, across various sectors. He underscored the significance of this initiative as a clear priority for the country and a tangible means of safeguarding the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
As part of its broader strategy, Ukraine has been actively working to boost domestic weapons production, aiming to ensure consistent supplies, reduce dependence on external assistance, and stimulate economic growth. Minister Kamyshin stated that the country is set to manufacture over 50,000 FPV drones in December, contributing to its goal of strengthening self-sufficiency in defense capabilities.

Ukraine's Improvised 'Minigun'
This week interesting footage of an improvised weapon was shared online. social media quickly described it as the 'Ukrainian Minigun' but the anti-drone weapon consists of 6 AK-74s on a static anti-aircraft mount, seemingly designed to combat small, low flying drones.
