Ok, so we know that canonically Amphibia and The Owl House take place in the same Universe (and Gravity Falls, but that's not relevant to this.)

And we know that, in TOH, there's the "In Between" place, and logically, one of the places it leads to is Amphibia.

The Collector made the permanent door to the BI, so theoretically, they could make Doors to other Places too.

Which means, if any of the Calamity Trio ever met anyone from the Hexsquad, and the topic of saving other worlds from ancient evils ever came up, they could get a permanent door to Amphibia.

And like, even if they couldn't make the door. Because they couldn't get ahold of The Collector on a whim, or because they're too afraid that the US gov will try to take over Amphibia again, Luz knows how to build a Door to the In Between

Which means Anne could at least talk to Sprig & the Plantars, through a mirror or something. Which is still 1,000x better than the heart breaking "have a good life, never see ya again" way that it actually ended.

Like, that is my least favorite trope in all of fantasy.

The idea of traveling to a different world. Then being imbued with God Powers

Then actually fucking dying and being reborn because the Will of Fate decided you needed to keep living.

Forging life and death bonds that transcend friendship and family.

Then it's just POOF ok back to academia and wage slavery and puttering out a mundane existence on this overheating rock.

Never experiencing the magic that you know is real ever again.

Never hearing from your found family ever again.

Like, I'm sorry, but I would simply perish. That's a nightmare I can't even imagine.

TOH did it right.

thinks about how badly sprig wanted to be enough of a reason for anne to stay, how he told her “you’re my everything” and meant it. anne was his heart and he wanted her to know that so desperately— but after anne reaffirmed that he changed her life too, he still had to let her go.

(not once, but twice. she didn’t die again, but she might as well have, with how much further his heart cleaved into two.)

and sprig was everything to anne too. he really truly grew with her, the two of them just kids trying to make it in a little big world. she wouldn’t be who she is today without him. it was always supposed to be them against the world, but now they have to learn to face it separately, while missing parts of themselves that can only be filled by the other.

sprig is one of the few that truly knows the statue in town wasn’t always a statue, and wasn’t always a hero, but a girl who was once selfish and scared and lost. he was the one that found her, just like she found him. anne was his best friend, his sister, his whole world, and he knew her just like she knew him in ways that no one else did.

and one day, they’ll know each other again, and come home to themselves and each other— but for now, they’ll look for the other in every place they go, followed and chased by a lifetime of memories, knowing the entire time that they’re never truly alone.

Of course I'm gonna make some Amphibia stuff at the show’s end. May not be my most frequent material, but with how good the show was I may as well ^_^ Loved Amphibia all the way through, but of the things I was thinking might happen, this was one of the only things to not. I kept figuring that it'd end with Anne finding her way back to Amphibia or her reuniting with the Plantars somehow with the parallels between her and the "Newt Plantar" who decided to settle down as a "Plantar" later in life and how they said "family always finds each other" when the humans went back to Earth at the end, and I'm still kind of thinking that that might be the implication later on in Anne's life with the words that the show ends on, but I decided to show a little idea for how that "reunion" might happen. I mean Terri was able to open portals WITHOUT the stones. They were small portals, but it's obviously doable with the right knowledge and equipment. With the decade that follows it wouldn't be that hard to think she'd advance research on it enough to be able to get more proper portals made, especially if there's some help from a genius on the other side they're trying get to =) Oh, also, one of the storyboard artists did make a joke "after-credits" scene for the final episode about a year ago I think when they did the storyboards for it. Since today marks the series finale of Amphibia, watching the last episode got me thinking something that I just wanted to get off my chest.

…Imagine if…Anne and Sprig reunited after 78 years when they’re both practically seniors as old as Hop Pop was at the start of the series?

I mean, given Anne’s encounter with the supreme Guardian Cat (who totally did not make me think of Spinel Sun from Sakura Card Cardcaptors), it basically told Anne that’s she’ll become the new Guardian by the time she’s an old lady. So granted that Anne has got the chance to live her entire life, I dunno, I’m just imagining a moment where Anne meets the Guardian Cat again who prompts her with the choice to become its successor. And this time, Anne accepts the role as it would allow her an opportunity to return to Amphibia and see a very special old friend after all this time.

Like just imagine a scene like that---Anne returning to Amphibia after so long, meeting Sprig as an old timer and being introduced to his grandchildren as Sprig has now become his own version of “Hop Pop” by that time. Who knows? Perhaps Ann has grandchildren of her own who instantly become best friends with Sprig’s grandkids just as they were when they were young.

I mean…I’m very, very late to the Amphibia train but…it’s definitely a thought I had after the finale. And rather than keeping it in, thought I’d just share it. That’s all I gotta say to that.
