FAQ: read before submitting

a note re series: I am more than happy to queue up an entire series on request! if this is what you want, please indicate that explicitly in your submission, especially in cases where the first book in a series and the series as a whole have the same title. otherwise I need to ask for clarification, and it slows down the process of getting your submissions queued up.

where do I submit books?

here. before you submit books, though, please check the list of books that have already been posted or queued.

when submitting multiple books, please submit all of them in a single ask so it’s easier for me to keep track of, especially if you’re submitting them anonymously. also, please include the author’s name!

what counts as having “read” a book?

did you finish the book? then you’ve read it. if you did not finish the book, you have not read it.

do audiobooks / having a book read to you count as having “read” a book?

do you think you’ve “read” the book? then you’ve read it. I’m not here to police your experiences or your relationships with physical books / ebooks / audiobooks / whatever.

does [graphic novel / manga / manhua] count as a “book”?

for the purposes of this poll, a book is a prose narrative, so graphic novels and other visual media with text do not count as “books”.

does [“novella” / “novelette” / short story] count as a “book’?

was it ever published in the form of a book, by itself (i.e., not as part of a collection of texts)? then yes. I don’t care if it was a 10-page pamphlet or a 1000-page behemoth: if it was published on its own, it’s a book. ebook releases count, but short stories published in periodicals (including online periodicals like Uncanny or Strange Horizons) do not.

the one exception is things like The Fellowship of the Ring, which is explicitly the first volume of a single, larger book — in a case like this you would submit The Lord of the Rings, rather than its component volumes.

does [short story collection] count as a “book”?

for the purposes of this poll, no, unless the stories are linked into some kind of overarching whole. simply sharing a common setting does not qualify (so Yoon Ha Lee’s Hexarchate Stories would not count as a “book”).

what about [series] as a whole?

no. this blog is asking about single books. feel free to submit multiple books in a series if you’re so inclined, though!

what counts as “sci-fi”?

if you think something should count as sci-fi, feel free to submit it. I haven’t read every book, and I have a flexible definition of the genre. there are some limits to my flexibility, but as long as it is set in the future, has some kind of futuristic technology, is set an an alternate timeline, or includes other non-realist phenomena that are explained (pseudo)scientifically, I’ll probably consider it sci-fi.

I’m a bit more ambivalent about older texts — I tend to think that something like Lucian’s True History (for example) can’t really be meaningfully said to be science fiction, for all that it involves space travel. once we start getting into early modern philosophical novels like More’s Utopia we’re on somewhat firmer ground, but really only in the nineteenth century do we start getting things I would unequivocally consider to be science fiction.

note that I am definitely willing to include works of science fantasy like Tamsyn Muir’s The Locked Tomb books or Piers Anthony’s Incarnations of Immortality, as long as there’s clearly sci-fi stuff going on along with the magic.

what about fantasy?

there’s a blog for that. :-)

does it have to be in English?

no! I read a number of languages and would be more than happy to include books in any language. the demographics of tumblr mean that you’re probably unlikely to get an overall “yes” result for something not in English unless it has a very popular English translation, but I’m happy to post the poll anyway — and maybe get some book recommendations in the languages I read. :-)

why don’t you include blurbs for the books in these polls?

there are both practical and ideological reasons for this. tl;dr, it’s a lot of work, presents logistical problems for books not originally published in English, and there are books and authors that I categorically don’t want to promote beyond showing people the cover.

hey everyone

Feels weird to make a text post!

I was in a crunchy mood lately, seeing more really good tumblrs I have followed both from this blog and my previous one a few years ago bite the dust (rip especially to bch1702 and askthenextquestion). Even some of the new ones I had loved and reblogged a lot are gone.

Idk if some of these are just people moving on, or if it wasn't fun enough because of engagement. My first tumblr was like in 2014, and tumblr was so active then. Anyway, this is gonna be a shoutout post to some of my favorite follows new and old, as I was trying to organize my queue and drafts, and noticed how many reblogs are from dead accounts, who was kinda new, who I have followed a long time, etc. I like the accounts that "archive dive", and find images that have not be reblogged by everyone in the last two months.

Anyway, I grouped a few for the next few days who have a similar aesthetic (really pretty boys/models with strong photography), if that is your thing you should check them out, a couple are fairly new.

“I don't know quite where to begin; it was such an overwhelming experience... The sheer volume, the lights, the people, the music... By the end of the evening I felt as if my eardrums were going to explode and my legs buckle from under me and I was tired but... Happy, very very happy indeed. How cool is Jamie Moses!!???? How mad are Fish and Mark Shaw!!!!!!?????? How much does Roger Taylor rock!!!!!?????? Anyway... It began in the morning when I caught a train to Gosport, worried about the wind and the overcast sky but hopeful that the sun would break through as it had been intermittently all morning. I arrived in Gosport early in the afternoon and made sure I knew where I was going and what I was doing, and then with time to kill I took a look at the Saturday market being held on the long high street. After getting a bus up to Fort Brockhurst to be there nice and early, I spent about half an hour in the pub - drinking coca-cola, I hasten to add - before heading for the gates of the Fort at about twenty past four. They were due to start admitting us at five, but there were already a gaggle of Queen fans hanging around in their "Electric Fire" and "Happiness?" t-shirts, with the occasional fan club one thrown in for good measure. We slowly began to increase in number as a long queue began to, almost exclusively made up of Queen fans - despite the fact that they were quite heavily promoted on the bill, there were no Leo Sayer or 10cc t-shirts to be seen. That there didn't seem to be any visible 10cc presence is probably just as well, as while we were queuing a steward came out to tell us the exciting - erm, I mean dreadful - news that 10cc had pulled out to a family crisis for Graham Gouldman, and the SAS Band would thus be performing a three-hour mega-set! The queue was stretching almost right around from the main entrance to the celebrities' car entrance by the time they finally began to let us in at about twenty past five -checking our bags only for bottles and not seeming overly concerned about checking for things like the walkman making in my pocket. Once past the ticket-checkers we ran as fast as we could into the courtyard of the fort - only to be stopped by a line of marshals keeping us around the corner and out of site of the stage, presumably in order to prevent us from seeing any 'surprise mystery guests' warming up. We could hear the familiar strains of songs like "Radio Ga Ga" (yay! I would get to do the hand clapping!!!), "A Kind of Magic", "The Show Must Go On", and what seemed to be a Leo Sayer lead-vocal of "We Will Rock You", and we were anxious for the show to begin. We realised of course that they were having to practice twice as much material as they had originally had in mind to make up for the absence of Graham Gouldman and his session men, but when it got to nearly half-past six and we still weren't in - the show having been due to start at six - we began to grow just a little impatient. Then came the magic moment, the marshals stepped aside and the race was on - round the corner to be nearest the stage. Some fell and bit the dust, or rather the gravel, some pushed, some struggled but in the mad scrap I managed to get just a couple of rows back from the front, albeit a front that was separated from the stage by a large photographers pit that would contain all of two photographers all night.

Probably the dullest part of the evening - if not my entire life - was spending the next half hour watching and listening to a bored-looking drum technician bang monotonously on one drum at a time at full amplification. He got an ironic round of applause when he finally finished, with some people muttering darkly that that was probably the whole show. Following this, things got marginally better with the arrival on stage of a DJ from the Wave 105 radio station who were co-sponsoring the event, trying with limited success to warm-up the crowd with some sing-a-long rock records. The gig proper at last got underway after what seemed like an eternity when Jamie Moses took to the stage to perform a short acoustic set. Despite not having known anything about Jamie beforehand ("hands up who's never heard of me and has no idea who I am?"), I am now convinced he is the single coolest guy in the known universe. He sang some great songs - including the hilarious "Beer Song" - taking shouted requests from the crowd, some nice one liners ("all that shit isn't actually in the song by the way, I just made that bit up", "what key is "Desperado" in? It's in G? Damn, there's a musician in the audience, don't you just hate that?", "so what are your names? Mine's Jamie" et cetera). After getting the crowd going with his performance, Jamie left to make way for the band in which his "evil twin brother plays guitar" - the one and only SAS Band. Spike began the show by apologising for 10cc's absence and making fun of "Atomic Kipper" having been unable to perform at the afternoon show earlier in the day "because of sore throats. How do you get sore throats from miming?" So the massive gig with its hastily put-together extra portion of songs began with the band's little introductory number with each member of the band being given a singing introduction to the crowd by Jamie, before Chris Thompson took to the stage for his first songs of the evening. He was followed by Leo Sayer who greeted our chants of "Leo, Leo" with "I'm sorry, but ELO aren't getting back together." For me, the musical highlight of the first half of the gig was when Mark Shaw came on to sing, one of the 'surprise mystery guests' who we had been promised. "I told him there wasn't enough room on the bus, he said I'll come on the train and meet you there," Spike told us. As Mark leapt to the front of the stage he asked us "do you know any Queen songs?" The response was predictably enthusiastic as we yelled that we did and he replied, "good, because here's the best thing they ever wrote", before he and the SAS Band blasted into a blistering rendition of "Tie Your Mother Down", which instantly got us all bouncing up and down and screaming our delight as we shouted along. He then treated us to "Big Area" before closing his portion, and indeed the first half of the extra-long gig, with a "Live and Let Die" that owed more to Guns N Roses than it did Wings, which he dedicated "to Paul and Heather". He also became the only artist in the course of the whole night to jump into the stupid photographer's pit and race right out to us in the masses, much to the delight of the screaming teenage girls at the front. So the first half drew to a close and Spike told everybody to "go and have a piss, because that's what we're all going to do", and we got another fifteen minutes of CDs from the Wave 105 DJ bloke.

The SAS Band re-took to the stage to begin the second half of the show with a piece they had originally prepared for Party in the Park last year. "They said they needed a three-minute piece with no singing to go before the big finale," explained Spike, "so we booked a rehearsal studio, and for three days and nights we sat in the pub next to it. We needed to come up with something that was three minutes long and had no vocals, and Jamie suddenly says - 'I know! We'll do an instrumental!'." The instrumental they came up with was the 20 greatest riffs in history in three minutes, specially extended to 21 for us in Gosport. They blasted through familiar hooks from songs such as "Thriller", "1999", "You Only Live Twice / Millennium", "Ticket to Ride", "Layla" and of course at the end we cheered ourselves hoarse for "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We are the Champions" as the finale to the piece. After this, the Fabba Girls who had hitherto been singing backing vocals to the other artists took centre stage in their rather stunning outfits for a wonderful performance of "Waterloo" and then an un-rehearsed but still fabulous "Dancing Queen". Chris Thompson returned to the stage for a second performance after the Fabba Girls had finished, followed again by Fish, who performed a new song of his, and then Mark Shaw. The came the second of the 'surprise mystery guests' - sadly it wasn't the big-haired clog-wearer many of us had been hoping for, but it was ex-Spandau Ballet front man Tony Hadley, which caused some of the girls to start screaming anyway. Which of course brought hysterical shouts of delight from us all as the band rocked away and we all bounced and shouted and clapped and got generally excited. It was a great rendition, a bit bizarre to think of a New Romantic tackling a hard rocker but it worked. I'd heard them rehearsing "Radio Ga Ga" earlier on so I knew they were going to do it, but that didn't stop me getting all excited as the familiar intro began and Roger took to the mic armed with his tambourine, which throughout his set he kept throwing high in the air and catching, inevitably earning a laugh from the crowd the one time that he missed it. After "Radio Ga Ga" came "I Want to Break Free", a surprising choice I thought as I assumed he would only sing his songs, but it was a popular one with everybody as we all shouted along. "Yeah, come on, sing along", Roger encouraged us, although I think to use the word 'sing' might have been a little over-optimistic regarding our crowd. However, as a man I was having a conversation with in the queue earlier had pointed out, when one person can't sing and does it sounds bad, but when a couple of thousand people who can't sing all can't sing at the same time it sounds all right. Roger rounded off his trio of Queen songs with "A Kind of Magic", which was a good way of summing up the evening really, not that it was over yet. Another chance for all us Queen fans to shout and clap along, and another great performance from Roger. He finished off his set by telling the audience matter-of-factly, "It's been a long time since we rock and rolled", which sent a lot of people into hysterics as he launched into Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" - luckily for me the only Led Zeppelin album I own is the untitled one, so I actually knew this song and didn't feel left out!

Roger left centre-stage after that spectacular performance, despite our repeated and increasingly loud chants of "Roger, Roger". He was still there in the background though, taking to the second drum kit as Chris Thompson returned to the stage for another crowd sing-a-long, "The Show Must Go On". The entire all-star ensemble - Thompson, Leo Sayer, Fish, Mark Shaw, Tony Hadley and the Fabba Girls - returned to the stage to join together for "We Will Rock You", to which Hadley managed to mess up the words of the first verse completely, even though he had them written on a piece of paper stuck to the stage in front of him! Nevertheless, both the stars and us in the crowd managed to get the chorus and the clapping right as Roger stayed behind the drums to boom out that beat for what must have felt like the billionth time in his life, not that he showed any signs of growing tired of it. After that we were treated to an all-star "With a Little Help From My Friends" with Fish taking lead vocal duties and Leo Sayer flirting with the Fabba Girls (although not as much as Fish had done earlier during "Just Good Friends") and finally a song that I didn't know at all but everyone else seemed to and in the end I got the hang of shouting in roughly the right places - though it was most memorable for Roger trying to persuade his young son to join in, with some help from Fish. The concert finally ended at about a quarter past eleven, with Spike saying that the police were looking threatening now so they couldn't carry on with all that noise. All in all it had been a spectacular evening and I couldn't believe I had actually seen a member of Queen singing live - the feeling still hasn't quite sunk in even now. It was only when the gig was over that I realised how deafened I felt and how tired my legs were. I needed nourishment, but I settled for some potato wedges from one of the chip vans behind the crowd and began to slowly make my way out of the Fort, stopping only to see Roger and the other stars board the minibus that was taking them away to whatever hotel they were staying in. And so all-too-soon, it was over. As I was leaving, one of the people I'd got chatting to in the queue earlier on asked me "was that your best first gig ever then?" Well obviously it was, but it was also one of the very best and most enjoyable nights full stop I think I've ever had. Now I want to do it again sometime...” - Paul Hayes

making a list of things that have helped me focus, whether for school, work, chores, normal daily stuff, or even just my own projects i genuinely want to do that i’m struggling to start or continue:

• StudyTogether.com. you don’t need to turn on a camera if you don’t want to / if you shouldn’t, except for one study room that requires it. also sometimes the solo study room is helpful. i like gathering hours of monthly study sometimes

• mooclab.club. same description as above, ‘cept it uses Zoom instead of a website-specific video format.

• “studio” or “office” voice chat channels on Discord, where people either don’t talk or mute themselves, and we work simultaneously on projects. sometimes people will stream what they’re working on. (often there’s at least some talking, like greeting and stuff. strictness and norms vary by server or group)

• being on a call with a friend as they work on their own project. (sometimes this overlaps with the Discord voice chat idea mentioned above, sometimes it’s a phonecall or other app call)

• putting “[time] of silence occasionally interrupted by __” videos in the background. sometimes i’ll put on multiple. so far, i’ve gone through tbh creature, AMONGUS, random meme sounds, and probably at least one other. gonna guess the vine boom sound effect

• sometimes i’ll mute “Study with me” videos and put on background ambiance instead, or i’ll put on background ambiance of my choice while using StudyTogether’s solo study room. (reusing old links on this bulletpoint for my own convenience)

So on Monday evening, I got an ask from a blog I hadn't seen before (not naming them) asking me to share their post asking for help with vet bills.

I was able to check out that they were a real person and not a bot, but I was confused about why they would ask Me, because again, never seen them before, and they also followed me right after sending the message, which seemed odd? So I left it alone and went to bed.

The next day I was waaay too tired to handle my own life, so that was a write-off. I'm in not so much a 'dip' in my health, it's more like.. a sinkhole, that hasn't stopped moving yet, so uh, yeah. That's limiting me a hell of a lot. Deciding what to do and writing a message back to them was just outside of my capabilities that day.

But yesterday, at one point early afternoon, I thought I had enough energy to throw some kind of reply together. I actually was going to reblog their post too. I just wanted to be able to tell this person- in case they picked me because they thought I'd have a lot of reach or something- that I actually don't tend to get seen by a lot of people, so it probably wouldn't help them much, but that I'd share it anyway and I hoped they could get their pet treated soon.

Except, there was no message there, and the follow notification vanished too.

Which means unless Tumblr fucked up in a very odd, very specific way.. they blocked me.

I hadn't responded in the maybe... 40 hours I'd had the message for, and I'd already been blocked.

Everything posted on my blog in that time, by the way, was through the queue and was tagged as such. I also have it in my blog description that I have health issues. Being unavailable for 40 hours doesn't mean someone is ignoring you regardless, but it's already public information that I have health shit to deal with and it slows me down. I would hope that would lead to a little patience as it is, but I mean, I could even have been in hospital for all they know!

Besides which, like, what good does blocking me do? If I'm not responding or posting, sure, maybe I'm ignoring you and don't want to share your post. But if I'm blocked, I definitely won't be sharing it! Because now I can't fucking see it can I?

Honestly, I'm almost glad now that my Monday sucked so much. Because that kind of anger in such a short amount of time (when, again, I didn't even post, stuff was queued and tagged) is a pretty big red flag tbh. I can understand being stressed if you're in that situation, but like.. I was basically off tumblr For A Day, a day and a half. To deal with health shit. And I got blocked for that.

Maybe it was a bizarre and highly coincidental glitch. Maybe they saw something on my blog they didn't like (though they should be vetting blogs better Before they send messages and follow if that's the case.). Or maybe they genuinely were impatient and defensive, and decided to block me out of anger when I had a perfectly reasonable explanation for what was actually a pretty short delay, certainly for me at least.

So yeah. Guess I kinda just wanted to vent that out, because, honestly I hate when people get mad at me for being sick, or for things in general I can't control. It isn't fair. And it's like, don't you think I would change it if I could? If I had any control whatsoever, do you genuinely believe I'd choose to be too exhausted to write a fucking message? I wouldn't. And I guarantee it sucks a hell of a lot more for me than it does for you, and I don't get to walk away when it's too much. So you can suck it the fuck up and Wait.

I know it doesn't Quite work like that in this case. They don't know the extent of my health issues, but that's the thing. If someone doesn't reply to you for a couple days, there are all sorts of things that could be happening. Maybe, like me, they're ill and don't have the energy to reply. Maybe they're stressed up to the eyeballs and they just can't handle a social interaction politely right now. Maybe they have severe social anxiety and they're trying to build up the courage or get their message perfect before they send it. Maybe their internet went down! They may not even know they have a message sat there yet! Maybe someone they love like, Just Died that same day.

Maybe it isn't their fucking fault, you know?

Anyway. Ultimately they've shot themselves in the foot. Because for whatever reason, they acted on the assumption that I was being mean and chose to ignore them, and in doing so, they've made it impossible for me to do what they were asking for, when I was actually willing to. And they'll never know that part either, because I can't tell them, because I'm blocked. So, y'know. They'll never get that help from me, and that's more their fault than mine.

I finished planning out my book spine project last night and I still have two sizeable* book spines I need some fics to design for, sooo...

[*] I’m not counting the super thin spines atm; still debating a couple possibilities for those.

I was wondering if anyone had any fave authors whose fics they’d like to nominate for the two open spots? Any Descendants fic is game (in-progress fics are fine and it’s no problem if I haven’t read it yet). You Have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Chan:

You were confused when you saw Chan’s name pop up on your phone, convinced that he was supposed to be in the middle of a meeting for the group. Regardless, you picked up, hearing him sigh as soon as you did.

Your heart pounded with worry as you heard him clear his throat, “I’ve been outside for half an hour now waiting for you at the restaurant, did you not remember I took a half day?”

Your eyes darted up to look at the clock on the wall, and then the date on the calendar, quickly realising what today was.

“Chan,” you whispered, letting go of a shaky breath. “I completely forgot, if you just wait ten minutes, I’ll be able to get there and we can still eat together, do we still have the reservation?”

“No, don’t worry yourself, I’ll grab takeout, I’d prefer to eat at home with you anyway,” he tried to comfort you, “just get some bits sorted at home and I’ll be there soon.”

“I promise that I’ll find a way to make this up to you Chan, I’m so sorry.”

Minho:

He couldn’t help but let go of a sigh as he read through the essay, you’d been writing that you’d left out on your desk. He knew there were times when you struggled, but the mistakes that you made certainly caught his attention.

He was so concentrated, that he failed to notice you walking back up into your room. “I know what you’re looking for, you don’t need to tell me that there’s mistakes in there.”

His head shook, encouraging you to take a seat beside him. He knew that you wanted it to be perfect, so that was what he was going to do to help.

“Just don’t panic,” he quickly assured you, “the essay itself is really good, but I know you’ll hate me if I don’t tell you that there are a couple of things that could do with improving.”

“I’d rather you tell me,” you responded, as hard as it was for you to hear. “You’re right, I do want this to be perfect, so as much as it sucks, I guess I’m going to have to listen to you.”

“I’m helping you, just remember that when you want to punch me over this.”

Changbin:

Any time when there was silence at the studio, it confused you. The boys were usually so loud, that when the room was peaceful, you never quite knew what to do, silently wishing for someone to make some noise again.

Changbin quickly caught onto how uncomfortable the new atmosphere made you. “Talk to me if you want a bit of noise Y/N.”

As soon as he spoke, you began to talk to him about anything that came to mind, just so that the room was completely silent anymore.

“Why don’t we talk about what we can get up to once I finish work for the day?” He suggested as soon as he noticed that you were running out of things to say. “Shall we try the Thai place?”

“Yeah,” you whispered, looking around at the rest of the boys who were all lost in their phones, “it feels weird to see them all being so quiet, I’m not used to it.”

“Make the most of it, once the phones go down, the noise will go up.”

Hyunjin:

To begin with, Hyunjin tried to ignore it, but the sound of your pen tapping against the paper as you thought eventually became too much, causing him to eventually snap at you and make you jump at his voice.

Instantly, he felt bad, noticing you trying to write a list of things to pack. “I’m sorry, the noise was just getting a little bit irritating to listen to you.”

Your head nodded, trying to refrain yourself from being any more disturbing than you were for Hyunjin as he tried to concentrate.

“Let me help,” he spoke up again, coming to your side. “I shouldn’t have snapped at you; I know that you’re trying to think. Why don’t we go through the things that you need together?”

“I know there’s a few things I’ve forgotten,” you sighed, sliding your list across for him to have a look at. “But nothing is coming to mind for what else I might need for the trip.”

“I reckon a good start might be to at least write down your toothbrush jagi.”

Han:

His heart sunk when he watched you tear yet another piece of paper out of your notepad, he already knew exactly why you’d thrown it away, just like you did with most of the things that you scribbled in the pad of paper.

Jisung walked straight across to you as you did so. “Why don’t you let me help you if you’re worried about getting it wrong? You’re putting too much pressure on yourself.”

You didn’t respond, but Jisung knew that deep down you were desperate for his help to try and get your letter spot on.

“Just take it slowly,” he encouraged, helping you with every word, stopping you before you made a mistake. “If you’re not sure, just ask me, I’m here to help you after all Y/N.”

“These are simple errors,” you frowned, “I should be able to spot these the first time without looking back over it and realising mistake after mistake that I’m making,” you groaned loudly.

“We all make mistakes sometimes, let’s just try and fix them instead.”

Felix:

Another groan came from you as the two of you continued to wait at the airport to check in and get on your flight to Australia. Felix could quickly tell you were getting agitated as you bounced up and down on your toes.

His eyes stared across at you, “there shouldn’t be that much longer to wait, just don’t get yourself stressed or anything jagi.”

Your eyes rolled, with each passing second, your impatient grew as you desperately wanted to get moving again.

“We can’t jump the queue,” Felix pointed out to you as you groaned yet again. “Just think, the longer that we queue now, the less time we’ll have to queue once we’re in the departure lounge.”

“Queuing sucks,” you sighed, resting against his shoulder. “I just want to get moving again, I’m fed up with being made to stand still, why are they all taking so long to get a move on?”

“They’re working as fast as they can, I promise we’ll get moving soon.”

Seungmin:

Your mind was absent as the two of you walked side by side, Seungmin knew that you were pretty distant beside him, but the grip that he had on your hand was enough for him to know that you were still beside him.

However, as an elderly couple came from the opposite direction, Seungmin had to pull you last minute to get out of the way as you failed to notice them. “What are you doing? You could have hurt them.”

It was only once you’d passed the couple, did you realise they were there. Glancing back to look at them stare back at you.

“Don’t panic, they’re alright,” Seungmin assured you, noticing that the incident had shook you up. “You just weren’t concentrating, that’s all, but no one got hurt, did they?”

“But they could have done,” you whispered, resting your free hand against your forehead. “If you hadn’t have pulled me out of the way I could have been responsible for hurting them.”

“But you didn’t hurt them, just concentrate a little more next time.”

I.N:

As soon as you got to the checkout, you handed the new shirt that you wanted to purchase across to the cashier. You reached into your pocket, unable to feel your purse, peering into your handbag to see that your purse wasn’t there either.

Your eyes darted back to Jeongin behind you, “I’ve left my purse at the dorm again, I’m just going to have to hand the shirt back, I can’t pay for it now.”

Before you even finished speaking, Jeongin stepped forwards and covered the cost, saving you from any further embarrassment.

“Sometimes I think I should glue your wallet to you,” he teased, “we all forget things from time to time, there’s no need to get upset with yourself, you’ve still got your shirt.”

“I’ll pay you back,” you quickly informed him, but his head shook. “If you hadn’t had been there, do you have any idea how embarrassing that could have been for me Jeongin.”

“But I was there, so you don’t need to worry about what if.”

Why did you choose your url?

Eulalia means ‘sweetly speaking’ or ‘well spoken’, and when I was picking my latest internet pseudonym (b/c I’m a 90s baby and grew up hearing to NEVER use your real name on the internet or you will DIE) I went for something aspirational. I’m better at writing than talking, haha. The ‘sims’ part is probably obvious.

How long have you been on tumblr?

Uhhhhh... ball pit era (2014).

Do you have a queue tag?

Naw, my queue is only set to six posts a day at the moment. I feel like I should have a tag for not queued posts, since that’s when I randomly dump a bunch of decorating pictures onto people’s dash and run away.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Originally I made the account to follow simmers after the TS2 community on Livejournal died down; I lurked for a bit, then finally decided to share a few of my own pictures. It’s nice to be able to document my game like this and share it with other simmers.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It’s a Picrew of myself, lol. (This one, by Poika.) I did icons with my sims for a while, but this Picrew was going around and I liked it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

lol, no. I am one of those people who prefers to merely observe fandom drama from a safe distance--in the case of simblr drama, it usually bypasses me entirely. If it’s not on my dash, I am not aware of it.

I don’t do that.

Do you like tag games?

They’re fun. Though sometimes I skip them depending on my brain spoons/whether I remember in a timely manner that someone tagged me. I’m also terrible at tagging other people. I try to only tag people who do them, and then sometimes the game’s already made the rounds by the time I end up doing it anyway!

Not really low honor blogging anymore cause I’m into the Epilogue.

I’ve realized how to get certain scenes without having to replay the entire game so many times. If I save before each mission, use a cheat to lower honor all the way (cause I need a certain newspaper to raise it all the way) get that version of the scene then reload with no cheat on and get the opposite. I’ll be able to make the posts/videos quicker this way.

(If I had known I’d be getting the cutscenes recorded I wouldn’t have to replay so many times but I have none of the scenes from chapters 1-4 soo… oh well At least chapter 1 is all the same which like maybe two small changes depending on hunting first or Kieran first.

More opportunities to get more photos and everything else. Plus I only need Strangers missions for John and for Arthur once each it’s only main missions I need so many times cause honor doesn’t affect strangers I don’t think.

In epilogue part 1

I both understand and don’t understand Abigail being angry at the end of “Jim Milton Rides Again?” Like… John Boss told him to get his guns. Geddes doesn’t care as long as John helps. Like I understand she wants John to give that life up but John’s right “What choice do I have?”

Part 2

Oof hearing Charles and john talk about low honor Arthur… but also Charles just ran over like two people in the getaway XD

But this also tells me in order to get all the proper dialogue I’m going to have to complete the epilogue’s first part more than once to get the other versions of it.

Honor doesn’t effect John like it did Arthur so I only need the convos about Arthur and doing diff missions in diff order (like sadie before uncle and vise versa at the end of Ep 1)

I noticed something, Mr Wayne said “I didn’t think they’d attack.” So does that mean he SAW them in the woods? Or that he just didn’t think the Skinner Brothers would attack them in general?

Dutch… “Same as you… I suppose.” Like.. he KNOWS we’re here to kill Micah… so… he basically says he’s gonna kill Micah right away, right?… but also Micah says they’re teaming up again… meaning this is also the first time Micah’s seen Dutch again after all these years?

Okay anyways I got the Ep missions all recorded and there’s only two places where honor determines dialogue in the first and last mission of part 2 which I can get to with a previous high honor chapter 6 save so that’s no problem.

Listening to the credits as I do stuff now.

Okay, so I didn’t buy a single newspaper and apparently I can’t get all three versions at once. If I buy the first of one the other two are gone. SO, I did a save reload thing to check all the default articles so when I replay and get all the Arthur stuff (cause I hadn’t recorded those) I’ll get the added articles. They don’t get added if I do the things as John unfortunately.

Soon I’ll have all POI and newspapers done and queued so I can start on the cutscene posts. I’ll have a handful or more done by the time the mission posts are done in the queue. I’ll get some character posts going (outfit details, location details, etc.) starting with the Van Der Linde gang. I still need to finish the chapter 4-6 camp posts but that’s just more a matter of putting them together.

I need to 100% the Colter posts first so I can make the navigation for the app work. So I’m gonna work on that, I have the queue set for more than a week so it’s not like I’m rushing -

Okay did the first 1 and a half missions before I just googled rdr2 transcripts and found someone else already did the entire game BUT they didn’t get added or alternative lines (as in they played one way and just wrote that down but didn’t write down choices or extended lines). I’m only gonna copy the dialogue, not the descriptions they wrote, it’ll be the same as me typing it from watching the cutscenes only it’s not gonna take me over a year. Like I said, they didn’t get all optional dialogue or alternative lines so I’ll add in those. I also don’t think they did Stranger missions.

I’ll have a link to the original page <- here as well as probably either on the disclaimer/credits page(I’m gonna add credits to the disclaimer page) or on the page for cutscenes. Because considering it took THEM over a year… I REALLY don’t wanna have to pause and type and pause and type over and over again just for the cutscene posts.

I’ll do the video stuff myself. I’m going to post the first missions cutscene and transcript asap just to show how the rest will look. (and again cause I need to finish the Colter page)

I should have Chapter 1′s first mission done within a couple hours it won’t take long. I’ll do like I’ve done before, upload them to my YouTube channel to have them on the blog (cause the videos would be WAY too big to just post to tumblr alone).

I'll be home for christmas - Brettsey

Sylvie sprung out of bed as soon as she heard her alarm go off; 4am December 24th. She was going to see Matt today, and they were going to live in their own little bubble for four days until Sylvie inevitably had to return to her real life. Sylvie couldn't have been more excited if you asked her to.

She hopped out of bed and pulled on her shoes. Yes she was a pyjamas at the airport person, but who could blame her, her flannelette snowman pyjamas were the cutest thing she owned and never failed to put a smile on her face. She grabbed her suitcase, making sure she had the christmas gifts she had purchased for Matt and the boys, double checked she had all her ID - god forbid someone accused her of identity theft and went outside to wait in the cold for the taxi she had preordered last night.

It was a good thing Sylvie had been waiting outside because her taxi had pulled up 20 minutes early, she smiles when the man steps out of the car to help her with her bag before safely climbing into the backseat. She supposed she could have asked Stella to drop her off after her morning run but the airport was a bit of a trek from her place, besides hopping in a taxi at 4:30 was a travel tradition, at least she had always thought so. When she arrives at the airport she wishes the taxi driver a merry Christmas and leaves him a generous tip before heading into the airport.

The airport was packed, Sylvie had liked to think she'd done a bit of travelling in her time but she had never seen the airport even remotely this busy, people were pushing and shoving each other left right and centre trying to get to where they needed to be and Sylvie instantly felt alive by all the hustle and bustle. Sylvie, still in the Christmas spirit held a grin as wide as the horizon on her face as she queued up to check in, thankfully she had been early because she was standing in the queue for at least half an hour before she finally got served

"I'm sorry ma'am your bag is three kilos overweight" Sylvie lets out a sigh and looks at her suitcase

"Oh, I'm sorry, I swear it was under when i weighed it last night, how much will the fee be?"

"Three hundred dollars"

"Three hundred?" She asks puzzled. Her bags had been over the weight limit before and the fee had been no more than fifty.

"I'm sorry ma'am its a public holiday" 'christmas eve isn't even a public holiday' sylvie thinks to herself but she just sighs and takes out her card tapping it and wishing the woman a merry christmas.

"Sylvie Brett?" She hears behind herself and mentally curses.

"Greg Grainger fancy seeing you here" she says with a fake smile

"How have you been? How's Casey?"

"Oh good, I'm actually on my way to see him right now"

"Oh" Greg says taken aback "he's not in Chicago anymore?"

"No, no, uh he um he's actually living in Oregon yeah" she says awkwardly

"Well that's a bit of a dick move, he finally gets the girl after god knows how long pining and he ups and leaves you" Sylvie lets out an audible gasp and was just about to go off at the man before she remembered 'its christmas spread love not anger' and she takes a deep breath

"He's actually just looking after some family right now so if you would please think before you speak next time you don't know half of what people are going through, anyway I have to go. Merry Christmas Grainger"

"Merry Christmas Sylvie" Greg whispers but Sylvie is already gone, the peppiness in her step was gone, Greg had really put a dampner on her Christmas cheer 'at least I still get to see Casey' she repeats to herself as she walks through the airport. Of all the people she could have seen at the airport it just had to be him. She gets to the gate and take a seat, she still has an hour to wait before boarding so she takes her phone out and begins browsing through her emails. After the paramedicine trial period turned out to be a huge success, Chief Hawkins had decided to not only renew the contract but also to expand the program so for the past month Sylvie had resume after resume coming to her inbox from paramedics interested in joining the program. She looks up from her phone when she hears the tri-bells go off

"all passengers travelling on American Airlines flight A320 through to Portland must be advised that the flight departing at 6:30am has been delayed due to an extreme weather event, we appreciate your coorperation during this time and our friendly staff will be looking to get you on your flight to Oregon as soon as possible, thank you" she lets out a curse as she stands up and makes her way over to the line that was quickly forming at the front of the American Airlines service desk determined to sort this out as soon as possible. Of course she knew nobody on Earth had control of the weather, but who or whatever out there that did must have been playing some sick joke on her. She stands in the line for an hour and a half and when she finally gets to the front she instantly begins talking so fast she isn't even sure what she's saying

"Look I need a flight to Portland, my boyfriend and I had this crazy three years of us dodging around our feelings for each other and then we finally get together and its been a month and things were going so great and then he found out he had to move to Oregon so that's where we are now he's been there three months and I'm trying my best to hold it together but really I'm dying inside. All I wanted to do for Christmas was spend it with him and now this happens, I only have a week off work so I need you to do something please anything" she looks at the American Airlines hostess with a look of desperation as she clicks away at her computer

"I'm sorry, our next flight to Oregon isn't until after New Years, everything else is booked out I'm afraid"

"You know what? Screw you! Screw American Airlines! Screw this airport! Screw Oregon! And screw Christmas! I should have known this was going to happen. I can never get anything I want without it being ripped away from me!" She isn't even screaming at the receptionist anymore, she had turned around and was now screaming at the other people in the line too, if her snowman pyjamas that had made her so happy that morning weren't attracting people's attention it was her sudden outburst. She picks up her carry on luggage and storms off wiping her eyes as she left stopping when she got to baggage claim. She sat down at a small bench and she watches two or three bags pop out of the carousel before her eyes glass over and shes sobbing into her arms again, alone, in the airport, on Christmas eve.

hi, everyone! this is a tutorial for a picloadr alternative for queuing promos because, as you might already know, picloadr stopped worked. personally, i like this method a lot better. it’s quite simple and fast, and it won’t force you to follow a blog like picloadr did. anyways, here we go! i’m going to include images to make this as clear as possible. if you need any clarification, please feel free to im me, and i’d be happy to help you out! PLEASE REBLOG THIS IF YOU FIND IT HELPFUL, SO OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE IT TOO!

so the first thing you need to do is install the extension tampermonkey if you don’t already have a userscript manager and then install this userscript from greasyfork.

then what you need to do is go to the mass post editor of your promo blog.

simply click “mass post editor” on the right side. you should be taken to a page that looks like this.

next, you want to click “batch”. you will then be taken to a page that looks like this.

then you want to make sure you have a promo folder with 100 copies of your promo like so.

select all of these images at once and drag them where it says “drop photos here”. you will then see something that looks like this.

go ahead and put your caption into the white box next to the topmost promo image. similar to making a post on tumblr, the white box has a post editor where you can format your posts, but if you’d like, you can simply copy and paste the caption from one of your promos. make sure you do not copy and paste the html of your caption. it is a rich text editor, not an html text editor. so if you try copying and pasting the html of your caption, it will not convert the formatting. just copy and paste the caption itself.

it should look something like this. now what you want to do is hit “clone abc”. it will automatically place the captions onto all of the promo images for you.

now you should see something like this.

then what you want to do is add the tags. go ahead and type in the tags into that white box on the left. you can choose to add the tags to every single post by clicking “add tags to all” or you can do it one-by-one by clicking “add tags (single)”. as you might have noticed, with tumblr’s new dashboard, more than 5 tags will actually show up in the tags now, so you can actually tag each promo with more than 5 tags. however, i recommend that you be very careful with this; if your posts are too frequent, your promos will no longer show up. i would suggest that you do some experimentation with this and see what shows up and what doesn’t.

anyways, once you decide on your tags, you should see something like this!

now click anywhere to get the tag box to disappear. then you want to click on “post photos”. make sure the “new photo/photoset posts as draft” box is checked. it should finish very quickly. for me, it takes only about 2 minutes to draft 100 promos.

then what you want to do is hit the “draft” button at the top. it’s the one in between “published” and “queued”.

now all you have to do is hit the “select 100″ button on the top righthand side. then hit “queue drafts”.

it will take about a minute to queue all the drafts. then you’re all done!

click the “queued” button next to “draft” to see your newly queued post. from here, you can select and mass edit the tags and captions of several posts incredibly quickly if you need to. you can also select older promos and hit “re-as draft” to draft them and then queue them again if you want to. it makes the process go by quicker next time.

Why did you choose your url?

I've been using variations of MyHeart(Blank) since I was 12 and made my YouTube account so when I wanted to make a Sims blog I just took that thought process and ran with it.

How long have you been on tumblr?

Uuuuh good question, I have no idea. I was on tumblr before I joined with a simblr blog but I didn't really keep track. I know I was still in high school when I joined though so probably about 10 years ago? And then I joined Simblr about a year, year and a half ago.

Do you have a queue tag?

On this blog I rarely queue and on MyHeartsStories and MyHeartsHistory everything is queued so no queue tag around

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I started getting more and more involved in the Sims community and it felt weird doing that when I was fandom posting on my old account (I don't even use that account anymore) so I created a new blog just for Sims

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It's my Simself with the colors behind it that I've used in my Tumblr theme

Why did you choose your header?

I choose this banner because it's the first build I ever felt proud of. It's a recreation of the castle/lake in Princess and the Swan Lake (the animated movie) with Odette and Prince Derek in the front. I absolutely loved recreating it and I think it fits me too, as I love fairy tales haha. I also didn't want the same banner as I used on my other side blog (MyHeartsHistory doesn't even have a banner)

What’s your post with the most notes?

I think it's the post for when I fixed either the Luumia default skin or the Waterlillies default skin when those broke (before the creators fixed them themselves, which happened several months later I believe), but part of those notes were already on the post as I reblogged the original posts... (Funnily enough people still download my fixes when the original creators have also posted fixes at this point). For an original post, I'm not sure, probably my Swan Lake Castle build download.

How many mutuals do you have?

I don't really know quite frankly. I know of a few, as they're people I'd consider friends from discord, but that's probably not all of them

How many followers do you have?

Ehh not that many and I don't really mind either. I think it's nearing 200 followers? But there may be some bots in there as well. I try to delete those when I notice them but I don't really pay attention. I'm not super active on here anyway and mostly use it to reblog cc I want to find back later

How many people do you follow?

Just over 200, mostly Sims blogs that post cc and people's who's stories I like!

I don't even know what qualifies as a shitpost haha

I check pretty regulary each day, as long as I'm home. Barely use the app so I do have to be on my laptop to check

xKIT PART 2: CONFIGURING

So, for the purpose of context, these are the only options that I make use of in xKit. If you're newer to xKit and are absolutely daunted by the number of features, the only ones that you will want to worry about are trim reblogs, quick reblog, and quick tags (possibly--honestly, you can get away with just trim reblogs turned on).

Now, I'm going to go through the most useful options as a roleplayer. These are the ones that have the best functionality (in my opinion) from a roleplay perspective at just making things easier.

Part 1 || Part 3

These are personally the most important/useful options to use as a roleplayer.

There are other options like Mutual Checker, Tweaks, and AccessKit that some users will also find useful. I do use these options, but I feel like they're more an aesthetic/viewing/functionality feature more than anything.

QUICK TAGS

This was a feature previously part of the old xKit that just allows you to set up tag bundles so you can quickly add tags to posts. It's very self-explanatory, and great if you have a lot of muses (or a lot of blogs), or are the type of person to have specific tags for each person you're writing with (like I do). I use dud tag bundles for header sections to separate all my blogs as well, but that's up to choice.n You can access these in the Quick Reblog window (if you have the option selected) as well as in the regular post window, and you can tag drafts or queued posts without even having to edit the post.

*I'd like to note that being able to reorganize your tags is a new feature as of 2 days ago from the time of this post (Jan 11 or so). Earlier this week I was painstakingly reorganizing my own tags by hand. This just goes to show that this version is regularly updated and has new features and requests added.

QUICK REBLOG

The options for it are pretty straightforward. Check what you like, check what you don't like. Blog selector is if you want to reblog to sideblogs, last selected blog is specifically for that, comment field is so you can quickly comment without opening the editor, etc. They're all very, very self-explanatory. I have not played with the Queue Tag option, so I don't know anything about that. Remember which posts I've already reblogged just turns the reblog icon green if you've reblogged that post. It's not terribly convenient IMO given us RPers constantly reblog anyway.

As you can see, upon hovering over the reblog button, you get a cute little window. There's an option to have it appear either above or below your cursor (I have mine above, that's what I prefer) and you have the option to reblog, queue, or draft posts right off your dash (or off dash view when you're checking notifications) if you want to rapidly add things to your drafts. The list of tags is also set up in the Quick Tags addon (as you can see I have IC Prompt, OOC Prompt, and PSA right at the top--this makes it ridiculously easy for me to reblog memes.

The dropdown at the top (you can see where it says xserawrites, my blog name) also allows you to reblog to side blogs by changing the blog in the dropdown.

MUTUAL CHECKER

This simply shows on your dash whether the person you're following is a mutual or not. Unfortunately, this only works with main blogs, and does not function with side-blogs. It's a good way to do a quick check on big multimuse blogs if you're running a multimuse, but for people who use sideblogs, it's not as convenient. (I just have it turned on because it helps a little.)

TAG TRACKING+

There's no preferences section for this script, but it's easy to find. When you go up to your search bar on the Tumblr dash...

You can see the "tags you follow" dropdown and how many unread posts there are in that tag since you last checked it. Great if you're someone who tracks tags!

TIMESTAMPS

Recently, there's been an issue with the Tumblr timestamps slowing down the Dash loading, so I've gone back to the xKit timestamps. This one's purely out of convenience, so it's up to you whether you want to turn it on or not. Just depends on your dash preferences. (At the moment, until the dash loading issue is fixed, I recommend it.)

Meeting Vernon for the first time

title: A meeting by chance

summary: you weren’t actually a fan of seventeen however your roommate was a big fan of their band. She was supposed to attend their fansign but she unfortunately fell sick that day and begged you to go in her place, to get their signatures.

“please Y/n, please you have to go in my place. i’m BEGGING you.” your roommate pleaded you, sniffing, while hugging your arm. You rolled your eyes and continued playing your game. “F/n, you need to stay away from me. i don’t need your flu germs as much as i love you” your roommate sighed, adjusting the surgical mask she was wearing and wrapped the fluffy blankets closer to her.

“Y/n, this is a chance of a lifetime. if i can’t go YOU have to go FOR me. please” she begged you again and showing you her puppy eyes. “I’ll uh do your laundry for one and a half month” you hummed and shrugged your shoulders, showing that you weren’t interested in her deal.

“Fine, i’ll fix you your meals and always restock the snack basket for you” you blinked at her and gave her a look saying, you know better than that. “FINE a new skateb-“

“deal.” you said, eyes still focused on your game

your roommate jumped and hugged you while squealing. “thank you sooo much, okay i definitely owe you”

“yes F/n, you do”

“i can’t believe i got sick....this is horrible. But at least i have you, now get off your game. i need to teach you some stuff you have to do for me at the fansign”

“i’m finishing, go eat your meds and then we’ll talk”

your roommate nodded, couldn’t fight with you anyways.

After finishing up your match, you stretched your arms and neck finding them a little stiff after playing too long. You walked out of your little apartment to where you found your roommate finishing up her soup that you made earlier in the morning. you pulled out a chair and joining her at the dining table. you placed your chin on your hand and looked to the right, looking at the bag of stuff on the couch

“ok Y/n, there’s 13 members. And i have a newer album for them to sign on. i’ve packed goodies and specific items to give each member. so just try to listen out for their name and you’d be able to give it to them” you nodded. 13 members, that’s a lot, you thought.

“Anyways you gotta reach there early and start queuing. Thank you so much again, try not to get lost babe” You sighed, and watched her finish eating and then helped her wash the dishes and made sure she went to bed.

you looked through the bag of goodies and you also found pictures next to each members name. Vernon, you found. You carefully picked up his item and brushed your fingertips at his picture so as to not crumple anything. He’s gorgeous i should also probably learn abit more about them for tomorrow

you just wanted to learn about vernon.

American-South Korean rapper. real name is Hansol, 1.78 metres, 22 years old. He’s older than you. positioned as main rapper and in the Hip-hop unit

hmm not bad, pretty muscular too. you thought to yourself, looking at his form and couldn’t help but stare into his mesmerising eyes, even if it was a photograph.

you even watched their HOME;RUN MV since you were curious as to the music they produce. You couldn’t help it when your eyes continued following vernon dancing and rapping the whole times

for some reason you just couldn’t look away.

Anyways you shook your head and checked the time before deciding it was better for you to turn in for tomorrow’s event.

When the next morning came, you woke up early, washed up, and had breakfast before checking your roommate if she needed anything. F/n was still asleep so you took abit longer in choosing your outfit, a simple cropped sweater set and jeans. Clipping your hand in a claw clip before carrying the bag filled with seventeen items and your ticket and heading out.

You were definitely slightly shocked at the amount of people who were already waiting patiently for the even to start, but your roommate did warn you about being early beforehand. You read the signs and went to queue for your turn. You waited almost an hour or two, waiting for the time your name would finally be called to lineup front

Now you could see the boys lined up in a row. Your roommate was right when she said that these boys, they literally sparkled. You turned to look at every one of them, your gaze lingering on one specific member. you got ready your things as you started off with the first member in the row, Seungcheol. The boys were actually very friendly and warm towards their fans, and although you had explained why sometimes you needed to ask for their name because you were only helping out a friend, they still treated you with respect and asked about you.

it was nice to see how the boys kindly treat their supporters. You finally got to Joshua, your palms were getting a bit sweaty since the next member was vernon.

Joshua flashed you a warm smile, which reminded you of sunshine and teddy bears.

“What’s your name.” joshua said getting ready to sign on the album. “oh uh, i’m Y/n, but could you help me sign off with F/n.” you replied.

Joshua looked at you kind of curious as to how you were abit more calm as compared to previous fans when meeting him and the rest.

“i’m here for a friend, she was supposed to come but she fell sick yesterday and didn’t want to risk spreading her awful germs to anyone. i didn’t really know you guys, but my friend really complimented all of you” you smiled awkwardly.

joshua gave you a nod and a look saying he understood what you were saying. “Wow your roommate must be lucky to have a friend who would do so much for her, even when she doesn’t know the band. tell her to get well soon for me.” he smiled and signed on the album while initiating a conversation with you. Joshua was very welcoming, and he made the conversation very comfortable so you were pretty immersed in it.

Vernon finished signing the album of the fan infront of him when he looked up and his eyes landed on you. his heart unconsciously skipped a beat and he didn’t understand why he felt a pull towards you. Of course you were one of the prettiest girls he has ever met, but he just felt attracted to you. when Joshua raised his hand to give you a high five and the both of you locked hands for a while. Vernon felt a need to pull you away from him. the sight of you smiling towards Joshua and not him, slightly bummed him.

it was so weird how fast he felt a connection with you. it was like he couldn’t take his eyes off you. But he had to, focusing on the fan infront of him and waving her off, knowing you were next.

you bid goodbye to Joshua as the staff requested that you moved to the next member. Your heart started beating faster as you placed the album infront of vernon and picked up his item from the bag to pass it to him. He smiled and thanked you for the gift. Vernon’s smile left you mesmerised and for a while you stared at him

“What’s your name” Vernon said in a voice that left you nervous

“Y/n, ah but this album is for a friend so if you don’t mind, could you use F/n. i watched an MV of your song for the first time yesterday and you were probably the most amazing i felt. but don’t tell the rest, they were awesome too.” the last part you sort of whispered

but vernon heard every word you and his cheeks started blushing slightly.

“Thank you Y/n, you know i don’t say this a lot but i think, in this hall, you shine the brightest.” Vernon gave you a bigger smile and reached for your hand, interlocking them with his. you were amazed and shocked by how much your smaller hand fit inside his way bigger hand. he swayed your hands side to side as he continued writing on the album while engaging a conversation with you.

Vernon made you feel like the only two people in this room were the two of you. you felt an attraction for him that you’ve never felt for anyone before.

however, soon it was time to move on to the next member. Vernon gave you a slight pout and wrote something swiftly on a piece of paper and sliding in into the album. He winked at you and you knew that message was for you.

He was the third last member thus you soon reached the end of the line and you bid goodbye to DK, the last member.

You stayed a little while afterwards for one performance. It was definitely dazzling, watching them dance in tune to each other, smiling to the audience and engaging with their fans. You wanted to learn more about them.

Unknowingly, Vernon was always looking at you. The whole time. Even when he was rapping or just standing and waiting for another member to give a speech, his eyes never moved away from you. He rapped his heart out for you. Maybe it was because he loved how excited you looked whenever his part came on, or the smile that grew wider when they danced to the song.

You breathed out a sigh and stretched out your arms when you left the building, sadly you had to check on your roommate and leave for your part time job.

your hand touched your chest where your heart laid. It was a wonderful time, meeting the boys and watching them perform in real life.

oh! you remembered the note that vernon left you. you quickly dugged out the album from your bag and flipped to the pages. The small piece of paper fell and it looked like a napkin.
