hiiiiii <3 when i saw this last night i ALSO went deep in the pointy objects tag to find the asks ur referencing but also a littol trip down memory lane ahead of getting started writing. we all know the drill by now all of my ramblings are below the cut <3

first of all (because u sent this one first) ur very right about shuuichi being a little bit of a bozo wrt: noticing rantarou's having a Precog Moment. he's (rantarou) has grown pretty used to getting hit with brief flashes of the future, so he's pretty good at maintaining a poker face when he's struck by one. we see it the sliiiightest bit way back in ch1 while rantarou is driving, and in the middle of speaking he is hit with a vision — it's not something he elaborates on but he does see more or less what ends up happening once the monsters rush the car. naturally makoto and byakuya are good at sussing out when he's having one — and as a very heavy aside, it was a vision of him and shuuichi as best buddies his first day of school that had him pursuing the friendship so ardently, and ultimately got them where they are now. brothers <3

and yes back to those asks!!! they are up to like.....jesus christ late-2019 was over 4 years ago at this point so THEREfore so are the asks. that said, in reading over them all again i don't think there's anything i said way back when that doesn't hold at least slightly true currently (with one exception, being the mystery poly relationship ending, and that's more to do with issues i foresee in incorporating it into the fic itself in a way that makes sense). the ones about nagito though? DEFINITELY still bang all this time later

which leads me into: your questions! there is definitely a level of respect nagito allows towards makoto (byakuya....not So much LOL) but when you know a guy for thousands and thousands and thousands of years.....and he marries the obnoxious rich guy in what is so *obviously* a downgrade for a big five god like himself (not unlike how nagito at least somewhat views hajime as having somewhat "settled" for nagito; i could go on and on about the inner machinations of po!nagito i love that stupid fuck for how comparatively little he's on-screen)...............nagito is a little disappointed. even all this time later. he is not byakuya's biggest fan LMFAO

tbh so much of my early answers on nagito (aside from how he was actually Present the first few chapters, so it made sense) stem directly from the fact he (+ shuuichi) are the direct inspiration for pointy objects as a whole. specifically this video, which i credit ch1 as being the catalyst for pointy objects becoming.......well almost 200k and counting. shuuichi as percy's counterpart and nagito as dionysus the unpaid, eternally cursed camp counselor (with hajime as mr brunner, thankfully hoofless) was the starting point for pointy objects FOR sure, and it's just expanded quite a lot past that over all this time. that video jumpstarted the idea in my sister (who handed it over to me pretty much from the get-go), and the pjo musical is what i loosely structured the lore/plot around, but i think the observations i've heard from readers that pointy objects does well at expanding well past the boundaries of the source material hold true! if you do happen to take a peek at the linked video, though: pretty much the whole of ch2 was very heavily inspired by the song which i think is obvious on reread. that sprite edit started it all fr thank you youtube user evie

Hold up, something didn't make sense, but, wasn't Javert the bad guy who was anti-revolution and hated Valjean and is the main cause of Valjean's suffering? Why are we shipping them? okay i mean. technically. i guess. but also javert isnt actually the bad guy in les mis, he's not... great, he's not a GOOD GUY but he's not the villain either and i mean a lot of the point of les mis is that yknow people are not wholly one thing or the other

anyway. valjean and javert are deliberate parallels and mirrors of one another and are compared, both in the book and in the musical, to one another over and over again, sometimes more explicitly than others -- for example their soliloquies in the musical have the same lyrics and music and themes, stars and bring him home are merged at points, their characters are entwined because they play off and complement one another

and anyway. in the musical specifically. the part where valjean frees javert at the barricade "i'm a man no worse than any man" and "there is nothing that i blame you for, you've done your duty nothing more" etc like. valjean isnt... ok i'm not saying he's not mad but he isn't dwelling on it like oh that javert. the bane of my existence that fucking asshole i hate him so bad. yknow? he does actually forgive javert and understand that. well. it's not javert that's tracking him really it's just... the entire penal system. which ok "i am the law" is there even a difference ? well. that's the question isnt it.

her feathers, ironically, stay white during her 'villain' arc because yaknow symbolism

when she was going out with puffy, she'd let puffy preen them

because she was the only other winged hybrid, quackity trusted her to preen his own wings

in return he preened hers while she was in jail

she used to fly with puffy because love <3

during her isolation arc, she takes out feathers as an unhealthy coping mechanism, reasoning to herself that there's no need to preen if she doesn't have any feathers left (yes it's morbid)

eventually tho she just. doesnt even wear clothes for her wings

she just hides them underneath, which is of course VERY uncomfortable

they get worse and worse and ache more and more and she wants to fly so badly but she can't unless she preens them and she can't because she just can't!

when she joins the syndicate, the first thing phil says during their second meeting is: "hey niki didn't you have wings? what happened to them?"

his voice is tinged with sympathy; he knows what it's like to not be able to fly

she freezes, just stops moving, then starts to cry

she loves the scritchy scratches behind the ears. like REALLY loves 'em. she'll just- once you give her scritches she just. surrenders and leans into it. her purring sounds like a fucking jet plane when she gets the scritchies

she can roar, she only uses it to intimidate people tho

her self-worth is just. deeper than bedrock. she has no self-worth

she and puffy are working on it but she still... needs help

sometimes she gets phantom pain from her declawed fingers. she's found out it hurts less when she massages it, but she can't actually reach it, so she asks puffy to do it, and puffy can't help but feel guilty each time she sees the stumps

also niki hates getting her nails trimmed. like HATES it. even if she doesn't want them growing as long as they did before, the idea of something sharp near her fingers after what happened just makes her blanch

eventually tho she does have to do it

she hugs puffy while ant cuts her nails, and puffy whispers sweet, reassuring comments to her.

like

"you're doing so good. i'm so proud of you" and "we're almost there. you okay? we're gonna get through this."

sometimes tho niki just.. can't handle it. but she doesn't want to disappoint puffy either so she tries to just get through it anyways.

puffy notices her discomfort and asks her if she wants to stop. niki hesitates before nodding.

"niki, you being comfortable is so much more important than this. we can do it tomorrow, okay?"

Enderman Hybrid Niki

makes littol enderman noises. sometimes when she's stressed, sometimes just idly, sometimes when she's happy!

she has a tail because how can i not give her one

also she has pawsies and hands like magpiebur by @/nightferns (BECAUSE I LOVE THE WAY THEY DRAW WILBUR'S PAWWWS)

can withstand water a little better than ranboo, being more human than him

it still burns though

she just has higher pain tolerance lul

also can touch snow unlike ranboo because she's half human, half enderman

her ears and tail twitch whenever she's anxious

didn't really like eye contact, and the l'manbergians respected that (esp eret who didnt like people staring at their eyes either) until schlatt came along and basically forced it, so she kinda forced herself to do it from then on

unlike ranboo however, she doesnt go into enderwalk. she actually hasn't got an enderwalk because ranboo got it from nervous habit and it 'evolved' from there (my hc anyway), she instead literally gets hurt

like it hurts her to make eye contact

ranboo sees that she makes eye contact despite being an enderman hybrid and is like: "...HOW???"

she's just like "oh i force myself to do it lul. cause everyone expects me to anyways. it hurts after a while but its fine"

he just goes completely silent after that, then tells phil and techno at the syndicate meeting (while niki is admiring steve) not to hold eye contact w/niki because it hurts her

techno: "HEHH??? she seemed fine when i visited her!!" ranboo: "yeah she's been hiding it this whole time because society expects her to do it." techno, an adhd fella: "..phil where are the adoption papers-"

niki's confused by the end. why did nobody look at her? why did nobody maintain eye contact with her??? did they not like her?

but at the end phil explains that they thought that because she was an enderman hybrid she wouldn't like it (they're lying to not throw ranboo under the bus)

niki just stares, then starts to cry because holy Shit they are so nice

"nIKI NO YOU'RE BURNING-"

used to bite her tail as a way of self-harm. techno was VERY concerned when he saw the bite marks, but niki just lied and said that it was a dog attack

he knows for a fact it wasn't a dog because he's been bitten and his furniture has bites and it didnt look like that

more like that One Time when Ranboo bit him while he was in his enderwalk state

cue him connecting the dots and being like "...WAIT"

niki also really likes blocks. like we all know her city is weird in some parts because it's built with different blocks, signifying niki's jumbled up mind while planning to kill tommy. but in the enderman hybrid niki hc, its also partly because blocks feel nice and she wanted to feel different ones

her tail curls around the legs of people she likes. so far, it's gone around: wilbur, tommy n tubbo (those two specifically during pogtopia), fundy, eret, puffy and the rest of the syndicate

whenever puffy made her flustered she'd blush either green or pink. no inbetween. puffy was very confused and thought niki was disgusted by her at first and was all :(( before niki explained her wack biology

OKAY THE IDEA OF THE HUNTER ADOPTING SIX IS WHOLESOME AND CUTE AS FUCK SO HERE ARE SOME HEADCANONS:

•The hunter wasn’t used to real people before he adopted six, so he was very overbearing with his affection at first, but eventually he learned sixes boundaries and obviously respected his new child’s wishes.

•his interest in taxidermy switched to an interest is stuffed animal making, obviously because he wanted to give his new daughter some toys to play with. She expressed to him that taxidermies were not toys she wanted to play with. as they freaked her out.

•six was very hesitant to let another father figure into her life, (I theorize that six may have been mistreated by an male authority in the past. because the only thing she’s ever screamed at in the history of this franchise is a mostly normal looking tall adult man. This, paired with the fact she’s clearly a runway, paints a very disturbing picture to me. But I digress.) she eventually warms up to her new father, and he becomes one of the few people she lets touch her without saying something first.

•the hunter is very overprotective, which is why he was so desperate to kill mono. A strange boy near his littol girl is definitely going to end badly. But she manages to convince him Mono isn’t dangerous.

•sometimes the hunter will make trips into either the pale city or some other city nearby for foods and materials he can’t get in the woods. He always comes back with a present of some sort for her. Wether it be sour candies or toys he can’t make her.

•obviously six is homeschooled since there isn’t a functioning safe school nearby for her to attend.

•the hunter gave her a very thorough list of where all his traps are, and of course how to bypass them. just in case she decided to be a bit too curious one day and travel past where the safe zone is.

•the hunter keeps his house much more clean now that six is around. He doesn’t leave animal carcasses lying about the kitchen anymore, and he certainly doesn’t leave sharp objects like knives and axes where she can reach them

•”light in the hallway” by pentatonix is obviously their song, and obviously in a “parent to his child” way.

im unsure as to how, but it happened when he was an older teen/young adult. a simic scientist either picked him (read: kidnapped), or remus volunteered (potentially to escape court life, unaware what exactly the experiment was going to do to him physically

bc also, remus and roman are royalty

so like. how best to get at the nobes/royalty/rich famous people than by turning their kid into a monster

wait, wait, wait, because i'm lowkey a sucker for this trope, but i'm not sure if it fits Remus: the experiments left him with some fairly significant physical pain/uncontrolled magical reactions. through some combo of trying to deal with that and trying find a cure for his pain, he keeps like....absolutely wrecking random towns on accident but also deliberately wrecking certain places looking for either a) vengeance on the guy(s) responsible or b) someone who can make the pain stop

Mr. I-Don't-Have-Feelings sees the poor dude in pain and also Roman in emotional pain from seeing his brother in pain and is absolutely like "i must resolve this like right now, immediately" because he definitely doesn't hate seeing his friend suffering, or his friend's brother whom he's just met

he definitely doesn't relate at all to the idea of someone else shaping your body and absolutely does not sympathize with Remus's plight

i was thinking the grappling thing and either manta glide or the ability to breathe underwater for the simic stuff, but like he doesnt have control over the tentacles yet?

Manta glide seems like we could have fun battle scenes

he just jumps off a cliff to avoid mushy talk/dealing with his actions/roman

Meanwhile, Remus was experimented on by True Bbeg and came out with some trauma and super cool additives

yep! chronic pain and ptsd and all sorts of other shit!

so like, simic hybrids are usually created when they're adults. but what if the true bbeg decided to go younger to see what would happen, and thats why remus has chronic pain and stuff

he was still growing when his genes were spliced, so hes dealing with growth plates shifting and his body maturing and puberty and body changes and stuff

Pat is going to have a lighthearted story. Im saying that now. Hes the one without all the baggage

Anyway Yea so Logan created by royal family in place of Remus which created angst between the two “brothers” and identity issues in Logan. Their arcs are learning how to healthily process emotions plus Roman apology and Logan commits to alchemy

So big question: why did virge make a deal?

Janus is lawful neutral, but leans towards being selfish

Tho I want to Virgil to also not be pushover so let’s say loophole happened and Jan has to stay with virge (hence why Jan is a part of the party)

okay so a couple of the rules are dont give a fae your true name and don't try to figure out their true name

So

what if virgil accidentally gave up part of his true name, and got stuck in the deal, but then figured out janus' true name

so in the same vein that janus had control over virgil, virgil now has more control over janus

he still gets his magic from janus, so he cant break free completely, but virgil has more freedom and can occasionally tell janus what to do or when to shove it

there should a running gag where virge can explain how he learned Jan’s true name but Jan can make something loudly censor him every time

(he learned his name bc once he heard janus practicing his evil genius voice and talking to himself in the mirror and janus said his true name)

so maybe janus sent virgil on the quest to protect a town or stop something related to remus, but virgil dragged him along

he might just be trying to protect a town thats close to a ley line, or something fae-related, and they just happen upon the whole thing

janus is selfish. but lawful vs chaotic is where he comes through, in morals vs doing whatever. janus has a strong set of loyalties to the fae, and to himself

so like....Remus is just too close to Jan's stuff and he wants to take him down

Virgil is just like....exhausted and said "fine, but if i gotta do this, you're coming, too"

or at least figure out a way to protect his place, even if it doesnt mean fully taking out remus. just moving him would work for jan

And Janus is saying something, something loud and urgent, but his voice rings and echoes and Patton can’t understand a word of it.

i’ve never actually been sure how well this came across, but janus’ voice is echoey and stays that way because patton’s hearing is different as a frog

So he closes his eyes and stops fighting it. There is a single, gut-wrenching lurch, and his hands hit the bedspread as he fumbles for balance, and then everything is silent. He should open his eyes, should face the music, but he doesn’t want to see Janus’ expression, whether it be anger or fear or disgust or scorn. And he doesn’t want to see the mess he’s surely made of his room, the destruction, like last time, doesn’t want to open his eyes and find that he’s looming over everything else, that he’s cracked his ceiling and crushed his bed.

patton isn’t thinking clearly here, or he would realize that there’s no indication that he’s cracked his ceiling or crushed his bed, both of which he would definitely have felt. and he’s definitely not thinking clearly about what janus’ reaction is going to be, but he’s internalized a lot of harmful thinking about his transformation; essentially, he’s the one who sees it as awful and scary, so he’s projecting that onto janus

“Oh,” Janus says. His voice is still oddly echoey, and Patton can’t interpret his tone at all. “Oh. Well. Ah, I totally expected this. Definitely. Um. Oh, gosh.”

Is he flustered? Surely, that can’t be right. He’s pretty sure that Janus doesn’t do  flustered. But he has to know, now, has to look, so he opens his eyes.

janus absolutely does flustered because he is secretly a dork and a disaster and patton is probably the absolute cutest thing he’s ever seen

i didn’t get to describe patton other than calling him green bc patton doesn’t know anything beyond that but. i need y’all to know that he’s still got little glasses perched on his face. and also that his eyes do the heart pupil thing. and also he is literally so small, like, tiny, and janus is absolutely right to coo over him

It is Janus that towers over him, rather than the other way around, Janus that towers over him with unmitigated shock written on his face. Patton blinks, just to be sure that he isn’t seeing things, and as he does, his brain helpfully provides him with a million other things that are wrong with this picture; the ceiling, for instance, is miles above him, and his bed is as vast as an ocean.

He tries to speak, tries to ask what’s going on, but all that emerges from his mouth is a shrill squeak. He attempts to stand, then, or at least sit up, but every effort sends him sprawling on all fours, his limbs clunky and uncoordinated and unfamiliar. His panic mounts as he finds himself unable to do much of anything at all, and he flails, trying to attain some amount of control.

it would probably be more cute if he weren’t panicking over the fact that he doesn’t know how to control his body. he was already feeling disconnected from himself bc of the depression, and suddenly finding himself in a new shape... isn’t helping with that

“Oh gosh, okay,” Janus says, and leans down. “I know this is scary, but you’re fine, I swear. Actually, honestly swear. You’re going to be absolutely fine.”

janus is completely out of his depth but he’s trying his best. his assurances are completely genuine, if a little bit clumsy, mainly because he hasn’t spent enough time with patton to know the best way to go about this

Everything clicks then, and Patton goes still, staring at his own limb stretched out in front of him, long and thin and green and four-toed. He’s a frog, he realizes. A tiny frog. His whole body feels so odd, so different, out of place and completely foreign, and it’s because he’s a frog. Not a weird, giant, humanoid frog monster, but an actual frog.

headcanon time: patton turned into a giant frog during pof because it was an outburst of overwhelming emotion. he turns into a littol frog here bc he’s been overwhelemed by how much he’s repressing-- it’s the difference between letting it all out and holding it all in

He focuses back on Janus and squeaks again. For some reason, Janus’ right cheek reddens.

Accidental transformations always do.” He frowns, tilting his head slightly before shaking it. “You know what I mean. Which is to say that I myself am occasionally a snake, so I know what I’m talking about.”

this is actually a part that i think i would change if i were to edit this fic again. i meant janus’ slip into backwards speech to be an indicator of stress and also that he’s feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the situation, but idk, it just kinda feels a little clunky to me now. but yeah, that’s what this is

He blinks. He didn’t know that Janus could actually transform into a snake, though now that he reflects on it, he supposes that there’s no reason why not. It makes him wonder just how much more he doesn’t know about him. How much he never bothered to learn.

patton has a tendency to blame himself for things, and he’s definitely been feeling guilty about how he used to treat the dark sides. that comes up earlier in the fic, and this is a reprise of that: he’s mad at himself for not knowing more about janus (even though, to be fair, janus hardly goes out of his way to share personal information in the first place. usually.)

but he’s got plenty of time to learn from here on out

What does Solace typically keep in his pockets?

I rolled a 3 for Leucien, but I already described his pockets, so...Solace is messy and generally keeps a tube of lipstick within easy reach, which means inevitably he’s also got a few tissues stuffed in a pocket from the last time he had to apply blot it. Other than that, he always has at least one knife on him, and that could feasibly be in a pocket. No, he’s not just happy to see you. 

Other than that, you know he’d never tell but honestly? I think he keeps his old prayer beads on his person, despite having left the Cenotaph both physically and spiritually. There’s something grounding about them: something organic in a world full of unforgiving machinery and vastly unknowable AIs, perhaps. It’s still soothing. Shut up. 

4. If Tanith was a work of art, how would you describe her?

This is such an interesting question for Tanith-- the most important bit for her would be that it’s something functional and beautiful, made lovelier still by use. A well-loved sea shanty with lyrics that keep time out on the water, a handsome medicine chest with fanciful carvings of beasts on each wooden panel…oooooh maybe a set of three nesting clay pots/jars! The first one is big and solid, rough gray-green with a fitted lid and decorations like barnacles and limpets, and below that is one with blue and brown glazes, pooling and mixing into each other, and the last (smallest) one is delicate and porcelain, almost opalescent from within where the light hits it, with the most simple, graceful curved shape It’s meant to house something rare and precious. 

5. How does Tanith express she’s comfortable?

She doesn’t like to sit in her emotions or thoughts, and spends a lot of time trying to transmute them into practical action. You’d know she’s comfortable if she let herself be still, taking in the world with quiet acceptance, and told you what was on her mind-- what she saw, or remembered, or was thinking about, without worry, just being. 

6. How does Fen express that they’re uncomfortable?

Fenestra argues about stupid shit-- pedantry in particular is such a refuge. Having a hill to die on helps her feel slightly in control, since feeling powerless is definitely one of the things that makes her most uncomfortable. She’d never admit to it, but it’s also a way to knock Threats down a peg or two. 

17. Does Leucien swear? What’s his favorite phrase/word?

For sure, but since Leu is 3 feet tall, he almost certainly got the “ohhhh i had no idea, you’re so iiiiinnocent~” treatment after saying one (1) fuck word. I was tonight years old when I learned he’s partial to “oh balls,” which is decidedly not one of my (Sketch’s) phrases, but I guess it makes sense intrinsically? Most swear words are either profane, sexual, or insulting/derogatory. Gnomes in this campaign aren’t religious, culturally speaking, and he’s not the kind to start a fight. 

Now that means there’s actually a good chance that he has at least once, in a fit of extreme frustration, blurted out “Aerum’s b--” before very hastily correcting to “face, face, I was gonna say face.”

I’m shocked I have so much to say about this, but...he was an academic, and I also have a strong hunch that he had a terrible little pretentious phase where all his swear words came from Old Gnomish or Dwarvish or oooh, maybe languages his old friend Aza had picked up, but...at this point he reasons it’s better to say the things in Everendian/Common if you want people to know what you’re saying. 

22. What kind of person would Finch never side with?

Finch would never side with a landlord cop bully. Well, definitely not a landlord or cop either. But man, the kind of leader who throws their weight around for the sake of it and intimidates innocent people into carrying out their orders? They really, truly despise ‘em. And leaders who treat the individuals under their wing as pieces of a calculated risk rather than full people. They’d honestly rather die than become that kind of leader. 

24. What’s a controversial food opinion Leucien would have?

Leu thinks the fact that there’s such a thing as “controversial food opinions” is fascinating. He’ll try anything once, so point-blank disregarding something as disgusting feels like snobbery to him. And even badly-cooked food can tell you so much about the people who make it, so and that learning’s a pleasure in and of itself. 

26. What would Tanith want for her funeral?

In Tanith’s culture, dying orcs are dressed in burial clothes, shrouded, and left to make their “final voyage” on their own in quiet contemplation. She would uphold this tradition. Burial and scattering of ashes at sea are common, but I actually think Tanith might want to be buried at the “interfaith” shrine she established on the mainland post-campaign-- Ishka willing, to be its guardian and perhaps, in a way, guide the lost on their journeys after her death. 

She would certainly want her dear friends and party members to speak in her memory at a ceremony, especially Cae and Avris, who saw her through so much. Nothing prepared. Just what comes from the heart in the moment. Perhaps she has also transcribed an old Orcish lullaby for her beloved Anya to play at the end, with the music drifting through the air and quietly dissipating, like sea foam as it hits the shore. 

27. If they were a ghost, how would Solace haunt in the afterlife?

Solace would be such a chaotic asshole ghost but he’d have the time of his (after)life. He already has such a great time being a local cryptid as it is, convincing people that an abandoned amusement park or shopping mall might be haunted. It’d be even worse in death. The thing is, if he was a ghost and knew nothing could hurt him, he’d be even more unsubtle, he’d really want to see the impact of his tricks and shenanigans for once after a lifetime or lurking. 

39. What does Finch believe their party lacks?

Finch knows that their squad has each other’s backs in the practical way-- they’ve seen teammates trauma out or take major damage protecting each other. But they think that what the Intrepid is missing is emotional vulnerability, and it’s important? If we’re not honest with ourselves, how can we be honest with each other? It keeps them up at night sometimes. 

51. What makes Tanith a hypocrite?

She’ll forgive everyone except herself, obviously. Since she was able to get some closure with her ex Kleiya, who didn’t die but was transported to another plane, she hasn’t been nearly as consumed with guilt over who she used to be, but still? She’ll tell someone not to burn out all at once, she’ll tell someone they’re good just as they are, and never believe it herself. :/ 

57. How does the way Leucien acts seemingly contradict his ability scores?

FitD scores don’t translate as well, so...Leu it is! 

He’s got +3 charisma, but he’s the most awkward man in all of existence and can’t be normal for even two seconds. I actually don’t think it’s that contradictory; charisma is a force of personality, after all, and Leu’s got that. He became an object of cult worship in a matter of months, after all...But also I do think he’s got an endearing, bookish, understated charm, and hey, that’s a kind of charisma. D&D often makes charisma out to be the smooth-talking seduction stat, but I really enjoy when it can be more than that.

He’s also got decently high wisdom, but I’ve been playing him with small dog energy. We’ll figure it out, I suppose.

60. Who does Fenestra go to when she needs to bounce ideas off of someone?

Fenestra has a littol greyromantic wtf-is-this crush on Eli, another of the Oracle’s apprentices. :3 They have honed different ways of seeing the future. Fen captures big fragmented portents that don’t make sense until later, whereas Eli is a lot more scrupulous, and tends to focus on details and possibilities, mapping out the pieces of a butterfly effect. They really respect his different way of thinking; it’s been incredibly helpful, and if she were feeling mentally stuck Fen would go to him, no question. He’d listen.

FUCK IT final fantasy xiii/fabula nova crystallis mdzs au

like 100% without a doubt i’m making wei wuxian a l’cie. i could totally see it go two ways (maybe more?) 

1) basically similar in timeline to mdzs itself. aka wwx falling into the burial mounds and being branded by a fal’cie, turning him into a l’cie and giving him his focus. it could rly be anything, but i feel like wwx tries to deny his fate and slowly becomes a cie’th in the process, but one of the ones who keep some of their mentality instead of going straight monster. 

so his death would instead be becoming a cie’th stone. this is bending a bit at the rules but its my au im allowed to do it, but i bet wwx would be INCREDIBLY good at hiding the fact tht he’s a l’cie/becoming a cie’th, so everyone assumes that when he dies he’d leave a body, but they find none bc he’s become a cie’th stone instead. in the future mo xuanyu gets branded as well, and his focus yknow, involves the whole bringing wwx to life again, though in this case instead of giving him his body, he basically reverses wwx’s cie’th stone, and then enters crystal stasis himself thus allowing the rest of mdzs to occur with it either ending a) with wwx finally being rid of the l’cie brand b) the depressing ending where wwx and lwj have to separate bc wwx goes into crystal stasis by completing his stasis, but with a hopeful air with lwj promising to achieve immortality so he can meet with wwx again

2) similar, but wei wuxian starts as a l’cie from the very beginning. like, he was a child when he was branded but he manages to complete his focus, and pre-mdzs he leaves his crystal slumber and gets adopted by cangse sanren and wei changze when they find this littol boy and take him with them. in that time is when they meet with the jiangs so theyre aware of the child the two have adopted, and then they later die and wwx becomes homeless again, to be taken in by the jiangs. 

this wwx would definitely be more Knowing(tm) even as a child given that he’s probably lived hundreds of years already in crystal stasis, still aware of his surroundings, but he still comes off as carefree and almost uncaring bc he knows he’ll just gonna be catching some crystal zzzzs in the end anyways. but he still catching Feelings for his family (and for lwj ofc) which makes things more complicated and then it all starts kinda going back to option one storywise. 

i also like the idea of lwj in the 13 years either fake branding himself w/ a l’cie brand or straight up getting a fal’cie to brand him so in the end he and wwx go into crystal stasis together in a weird bittersweet ending

Let's see what Gladiolus says Darks are, and since they're the only ones that have talked about the subject up until now (i think) were going to take everything they said as 100% facts

No... Darks aren't particularly alive... well, they are, but not really...? It's hard to explain... not particularly inteligent either... they follow instructions from their masters and that's it, at least most of the times

So from this we can gather

1. Darks are clones or at the very least made from Shadows

2. Something to do with the "Life Force" (googled it and it's from Minish Cap, and since we're dealing with Inky, which may be the hero of Men from before MC, it might be possible it's the same or something similar)

3. Their only purpose is to follow orders

4. "Tries to murder people" indicative that they are made to "destroy"

Now let's look at Snappy!

1. From what we can gather from the flashback-ish, they appear to be the 'liddol child's Shadow

2. We have no idea what happened after their Light dies

3. Vervain claims to have 'created them' and that 'their only purpose is to follow their orders'

4. Snappy has said multiple times that they were made to destroy

Sound familiar anyone?

This would even explain some inconsistencies with their character and lore!

For example, early on they claimed that Daisy was older than "all of us combined" (which was Daffodil, Hyacinth and Snappy at the time) but we also know that they were around since their Light was a child!

Plus, in the character tag of the flashback it said 'liddol snappy' and yet they claim to have been born and been an adult for their entire existance, weird, right? Plus, they claim to have 'lived a whole life with xem', but if they've been an adult the whole time...

Snappy claims to not be a Dark, but man, the evidence is completely against them!

Now considering this is a game of information, I’m taking all of Gladi’s info as truth but with a bit of salt (aka: gladi’s info could be wrong just because of limited knowledge)

I am SO SO SO open to Snappy being a dark and their life being a lie, but at the same time, Gladi said Darks are clones of Shadows. So maybe this Snappy (Dark? Snappy) has the memories of the shadow (the littol child).

I don’t know where the fuck I was going with this, but that’s a really inch resting theory! Thank you for sharing, table slam anon! I love this theory!
