Had a fantastic fic-writing experience when my brother visited

#I love drawing MSPaint-quality stuff with a laptop touch screen/trackpad in art programs that I spent money on #it's silly fun n.n #The Magnus Archives #TMA spoilers #TMA fanfic #TMA #he knows vague TMA stuff since I mainly talk to him about it but he hasn't heard more than scant minutes here n there #he said he would've listened to it at his library preservation job if they had allowed headphones #but he also didn't last long at that job. Too many splinters #I also loved this moment because last time someone very obviously leaned over to read what I was doing #it was before class and my friend leaned over to read my book #then after a beat he went 'wait what the fuck' and leaned back defeated upon discovering it was in Spanish #as if he had forgotten I had just gotten back from working in Spain and was going through books I'd bought there #fun fact: my very first post was a trackpad comic like this b/c I wanted a not-barren blog fast and I had one on hand #another fun fact: the fic on AO3 is Take the Long Way Home 👀 #I did this instead of writing more because words weren't happenin today #my art

Auguh not to get too Hopless Shell of a Man on you but i'm trying to find a daydream to get lost in to lull myself to sleep but i'm finding I can't.

Cause the kind of daydream that puts me to sleep have always been more aspirational, if grandiose and slightly unrealistic, explorations of like.. what my dream house would look like, hanging my art up in a new-bigger better- apartment, what my table would look like at a con, or my work in a small gallery or art show..

but it's at the point where i can't suspend my disbelief enough anymore to indulge in the Premise of most of these things because Every Ounce of possibility has been squeezed out of these things.

And maybe i'm just really too depressed and there's something i'm not seeing but god it's Really Fucking Bad Out here if My can-imagine-anything-like-it-could-happen-tomorrow-regardless-of-probability Ass can't even daydream myself to sleep because it's... Just not realistic!!!! Like i know we already know that but damn!!!! My mental health is in shambles and almost all of the causes are external and i can't control them!
