#and like my mom came to visit me and help me out with basic life stuff

So, despite some faults, I really enjoyed totk, and on its anniversary I want to say something about it. Other people have said similar things before but it’s really important to me and actually a big part of why the story of totk was meaningful to me, so I want to also say it:
Zelda needed to come back from draconification. The story needed that. It wasn’t lazy and just ignoring “consequences” because (imo) that was the *point*
The point is to feel like there are going to be terrible consequences and then say actually, no. You can come back from this, with the help of other people.
To me at least, that was the theme of the whole story.
If botw was about how the world goes on past loss and grief and starts to heal (how flowers grow in the ruins and the world can be beautiful again, be worth saving, even if it has changed)…then totk was about a more personal kind of healing.
The weight of the world should not be on your shoulders alone…you, alone, should not have to fix everything…you should not have to sacrifice yourself, but when you do, someone will be there to save you from it.
This turned into a really long ramble so:
You (Link) gained so much and now it’s gone. It feels like you’re back to where you started and yet you know you have to do it all again…you were weak and you failed and you’re weaker now…but
You go down to the surface. Monsters swarm across it once again. Other people are fighting them too though. You help, but it’s not just you…
You go to the Rito, the Gorons, the Zora, the Gerudo…just like with the divine beasts, there are friends who help you save each region. But this time, part of them comes along with you when you leave. It’s nice, you realize, the first time one of them protects you from a monster you weren’t prepared for. You’re still weaker than you were before, but someone has your back…
When you go up to the sky you see a strange new dragon there. There’s something about them that feels familiar. You try not to think about it.
You go down to the depths too. It’s terrifying at first. You hate it. You only want to get what you came for and get out of the dark….but slowly, the light grows. You get stronger. The dark feels like a challenge you can face (and someone has your back).
There are spirits down there. You don’t know when they’re from, but some part of you wonders…are these all the people you let die in the Calamity? (You help them find rest from their wandering. The weight on your shoulders feels a little less heavy).
There’s so much gloom. The first few times the sky turns red and hands chase you (a reminder of what you’ve lost, how you failed) you just run. Eventually though, you have to fight. It feels like the (second) worst day of your life again. But you manage to get free of the grasping gloom and stand and fight, as wild and desperate as it is. Beneath the manifestation of your worst fears, there’s another thing to fight, but this time it has a face (a voice in the back of your head says…you know this isn’t all on you and your failure…it’s really Ganon’s fault right?). You get through it.
At every turn in your travels, it seems like something reminds you of Zelda. Her passion, her curiosity, her kindness. You miss her.
At first, the tears you find reassure you. She may be in the past, but she’s safe. She’ll come back somehow…but then you hear the word draconification for the first time. You want to believe she wouldn’t do it but you know her and the fear sits cold inside you. (Zelda is a lot of things. She’s been allowed to be more of them, since she was freed from her hundred year battle, without her father holding her back. But deep down inside her, there’s a vein of self-sacrifice that still runs strong. It’s what saved the world before, after all).
She did it. She really did it. She’s gone from you (from Hyrule) forever, and it’s all your fault. If only you hadn’t failed so utterly in the battle (you can hardly even call it that) under the castle. If only you’d caught her. If only you hadn’t let the sword break. You should have protected her you should have been better it’s all your fault and now she has to live with the consequences, forever. Everything really is on you, you should have been better.
(Zelda POV: you couldn’t call upon Hylia’s power in time, you were too content to let it wither and fade away from you, ready to be free of it. You shouldn’t have. He got hurt, the sword got hurt, it’s your fault…Sonia and Rauru help you channel it again, Sonia helps you learn how to turn back time…but you don’t save her. She dies because you couldn’t save her. Rauru dies not long after. There is no one left to guide you, once again. You could spend years trying to figure it out on your own. But you did that last time. It didn’t work. Self-sacrifice, stepping in front of someone you love, that worked. (You do what you can, to call upon the sages, to help Link in the future, first). And then you swallow the stone. You’ve come a long way, in the past five years, allowing yourself to exist. But in the end, self-sacrifice worked last time. It’ll work this time too.)
You (Link) go down beneath the castle. You were supposed to bring the sages but you didn’t. It’s nice, for someone to have your back. But no one else should get hurt to fix your mistakes.
They follow you anyway. They fight with you, against the hordes, against the greatest enemies you defeated together, along the way. They’ll have your back, even if you don’t think you deserve it.
You fight Ganondorf, and then the demon king, in the hardest battle of your life. You think it’s over and then the demon king decides it’s better to lose himself completely than let you win. You’re exhausted and afraid of yet another battle, but up there in the sky, when you’re falling, the Light Dragon catches you (you wonder why she changed her path to catch you, you wonder if there’s still something of Zelda left in there to save). With her help, you win.
And then you’re in some other realm. The spirits of Sonia and Rauru are there. You remember how the two of them and Zelda channeled such incredible power together. You think about Recall. Turning something back to the memory of what it was before, like Sonia said. You stand with them and you allow yourself to hope. Maybe the Light Dragon can remember the form she took so long ago, the person that she was.
And then you’re falling, and Zelda is falling, but this time you catch her. You catch her. She’s back home with you, finally, finally.
And maybe, one mistake doesn’t have to be the end of the world. You don’t have to be perfect. Sometimes, someone else can stand with you, and it’ll all turn out alright. (You can put the weight of the world on your shoulders, you can sacrifice yourself, but someone will be there to catch you, someone will be there to pull you back to yourself, when all is said and done).
#loz#tears of the kingdom#Link#Zelda#I will say also that I think part of the reason totk is special to me is very personal#like when it came out I was still struggling with the worst burnout of my life#I had had a few months of exhaustion between January and March and in May that exhaustion was still sticking to me#it was hard to get out of bed hard to do anything I felt so tired that I almost felt sick but I wasn’t sick#and the thing is Zelda games are my biggest special interest#and having a new one to play like genuinely I’m not joking it gave me bsck so much energy#I was doing really badly but when totk came out I played it for an entire weekend straight basically#and like my mom came to visit me and help me out with basic life stuff#and like sit with me while I played just like enjoying being together#and that was really nice#over that summer and the fall after I started getting to know someone I work with better#largely over conversations about totk at first#and they’ve become a good friend#(and become someone that I feel safe to be fully myself around)#and so I just have this really strong personal connection to totk#like I will not claim to be impartial about it#there are definitely criticisms that I can acknowledge#in particular I don’t like that they un-amputeed Link let Link be disabled#and also ganondorf’s characterization was shallow and one dimensional#and I’m sure there’s other things I could think of#but the overall narrative#including Zelda becoming the light dragon and then turning back in the end#I really like that#it felt like a narrative of healing to me#and playing it at the time that I did felt really healing to me too

Love & Care | Toji Fushiguro X Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
Theme: Fluff
TW: a lil bit of cursing, ooc toji(????) maybe..as I didn't want to make him a brat here, age gap, reader is in her early 20s and Toji is in his 40s, not proof read[because I'm lazy asf]
Summary: headcanons for Toji X reader where reader is a friend of Megumi with motherly vibes.
Note: I am not really a Toji stan..okay?😭 I NEVER read any Toji fic in my life. Never. This was all so new for me. I tried to stick to the character as much as I could in the given scenario. Please don't mind :(💗
Tumblr media
•You missed a very important class at your university and you needed a notes, immediately. Thus you ended up visiting your friend, Megumi, at his place, for the notes. Thus you met his dad, Toji Fushiguro. And what a sight! What a man! You couldn't look away.
•Toji just came back and you were leaving after taking your notes and BANG! You bumped into a person who felt like rock because of his well physic. You looked up, only to find your friends dad. You saw him on Megumi's phone but never in real life. "Kid, watch where you are going!", Toji groaned and looked down at you "also who are you?". "I-", you started to utter but Megumi finished it for you "My friend, dad, her name is Y/n." Toji did a little hum and gave you place to leave. You gave a nod with a little smile and left.
•You came back home, freshened up and decided to go through the notes but your mind refused to focus. All you could think how handsome that older man was. Your breath hitched and a weird feeling strated to grow in you.
•And all that grew harder with each passing day. You longed to see that man in person, once again. And your wish came true when your friend fell sick and took a few days off. You, being the responsible one, decided to help him with the notes.
•You went to your friends house. You finally met his dad again. You greeted him formally and he greeted you back. Your heart danced in joy. Then you went to Megumi's room and saw him laying down on his bed with an ice bag on top of his forehead. He looked really sick. You kept the notes on his desk and walked near him and sat on the chair beside the bed.
•Megumi was coughing and breathing heavily. The high fever was making him feel dizzy but he recognised you.
"You shouldn't... Have come..you will catch cold too..idiot..", he breathed out.
"Shh, don't talk much. Relax."
"Tsk"
Your friend was like that, refused to take help but you always loved to help him, you loved taking care of him.
You took the ice bag off as the ice was melted already. You saw a bowl of water and a piece of cloth in it on the bed side table. You kept the ice bag on the and damped the cloth and rinsed out the excess water. Then you put it on his forehead and ran your hand through his hairs, soothing him down. And it actually relaxed him. Your offered him some water when he coughed a lot. You were busy in taking care of your friend when Toji came and stood by the door, which you didn't notice. He observed how you took care of his son.
"You take care of him like a mother." His sudden voice made you startled and you looked back to find him standing there. He had a smile on his face and you felt like you could die then happily. "Oh..yeah..haha", an awkward and nervous laugh came out of your throat with a faint tint of red on your cheeks.
•And that whole thing made you and Toji interact more. Slowly a bond was forming between you two. Both of your scolded Megumi when he was going extra harsh on himself for studies and didn't take care of him. Megumi often rolled eyes at the strict scolding but he could feel something in the air. He was smart. He was quick to catch the real scenario when he found you chatting with your dad and laughing. He also noticed how conscious you got around his dad or by the mention of his name. The faint blush, little chuckles, small glances— he noticed it all.
•You were in love with his dad —Megumi easily understood that. If it was anyone else other than you, maybe he would be against it but you were different. You were calm and collected, a soft person, who didn't date many guys. Megumi trusted you, he knew you. Your happiness was also important to him. So he accepted it in his mind. He also noticed how his dad was finally interacting with a woman after his mom died. Megumi's life's biggest tragedy was that he lost his mother when he was barely two years old. He never felt the motherly care while growing up until he met you. His dad supported him a lot but you, you took care of his mood, well being and feelings. Though you were his friend but he found the comfort of a mother in your embrace. So he was all over pleased and wanted your relation to form properly with his dad.
•For you, it felt so wrong yet so right. You didn't plan to fall for your friends dad but some matters would always stay out of human control. So you had finally accepted it but didn't want to make a move from your side. On the other hand, Toji liked spending time with you. You were calm but not boring. He liked that. Also, he adored how you mothered his son. It made him chuckle with happiness. But the muted feelings in his heart was forcibly put down by himself. He refused to acknowledge any such weird feelings about his son's friend. So he just stayed in his limit as well. Megumi was honestly tired of seeing the lack of confronting ability. He wanted any of you two make a move. The way you both appreciated each other while talking with Megumi, he was surely confused why weren't you two making any move yet.
•The frustration was major. Megumi couldn't take it anymore decided to make move on you two's behalf. One day he called you to come over to his place while he went to Itadori's place, who was a mutual friend of you and Megumi. You agreed without knowing and came over to his place with some cookies you made, only to find his dad alone. You were confused, so was Toji. Both of you tried to contact megumi but he didn't pick up any call. You wanted to leave but Toji stopped you.
"You can stay untill he comes back, you know. I got no issues", he said with a chuckle. You hesitated but accepted soon. You sat with Toji and ate a few of the cookies you made.
"You made this?"
"Yeah.."
"Tastes good"
"Thank you, Fushiguro san"
"Hey you know, that fushiguro and all...so fucking formal. Call me Toji"
"But you're way older than me"
"Do I look like I care?", he laughed.
"Okay..Toji ...san?"
"Sounds better", both of you chuckled and chatted. It wad getting late but Megumi wasn't home till then. Toji suggested you to go back and he would talk to his son for his carelessness. You nodded and headed back. Though you didn't meet your friend that day, you felt somewhat happy. Spending all those time with Toji made you giggle in your mind.
•Such shits continued, as Megumi kept on setting you two up. Someday he sent his dad at your place to give you some important assignment files, giving the excuse of being "busy", someday he asked for your help to come over and stay a few hours at his place as he needed to go to the library, stating that his dad wasn't home. You agreed again and went to his place. He left, you were alone, using your phone, when the door knob moved. You thought he came back but it was Toji. Both of you were surprised at first but that day ended with chats and laughs as well. But Megumi heard a few words from his dad but his weird behavior later, and from you as well. But he didn't mind.
• Things continued. You two might confronted Megumi but all those 'accidental meet ups' were too good for both of you. So you two didn't care much and the bond grew stronger and you two came closer than before. Megumi was happy by the progress so far.
•One day, you hanged out with Megumi and his dad, as you were free that day(also his dad was there). Megumi excused himself for using the washroom near the park and you two waited for him. Then Megumi messaged you that he had a parcel coming by that day, so he had to go back to recive it but he would join you two soon after. You sighed and told Toji about that.
"My son is getting sneaky", he sighed and you two sat on the bench.
"Sure he is.", you chuckled and Toji looked at you.
"I would be concerned about it if he didn't have a friend like you. You take care of him like a mother.", he gave you a sounded laugh, making you blush a little. "Thanks a lot for being such a great friend to my son. I trust you enough that I know he won't do anything wrong as long as you stay with him.", he smiled.
"My pleasure. He is a good guy. He just..doesn't know how to talk about his needs. I somehow manage to read his face. And thus I try my best to take care of him. After all, he is my most important friend."
"You like my son?"
"As a friend, yes"
"Of course", he laughed "do you like his dad?"
His one question made you nervous. Did he find out? No way. You didn't know what to reply. Panic was clear on your face. Toji quickly fixed his words.
"I mean..do you think I am a good dad? Am I good enough?" You sighed and smiled in relaxation.
"Of course. You're doing great as a dad. Maybe you don't know but he once said that he feels grateful to have you around. He also acknowledge your hard work as a single father. You're more than just good."
"Really? Wow", he smiled to himself, feeling good about himself after so many days, or years.
•Things didn't actually go to that level where you could admit your feelings for Toji but you loved him, loved being around him. Megumi's set ups made you two more than just friends. Both of you knew that very well but didn't have the courage to tell each other.
•Megumi stopped setting you two up after a few months as he was tired. Also he wanted you two long for each other.
After a few weeks, when you were longing for Toji, trying hard to find a reason to meet up, you asked Megumi if you two should hang out and proposed to bring his dad too, Megumi decided to confront you.
"Y/n"
"Yes?"
"Do you like my dad?"
Your lips were sealed, not a single sound came out of your throat. How the hell did Megumi find out and how was he so exact? Was your facial expressions were so certain and prominent? Yoy had to lie. You coughed and gave him a dry laugh.
"Are you crazy Gumi? That's your dad..how can i-"
"Stop lying. You think I am a kid?"
"No but-"
"Why do you think all those accidental meet ups happen so frequently? Because I tried to set you two up"
"Wha-"
"But again you two couldn't even say a word about your feelings. If you like each other why don't you confess?"
"I don't like your da-"
"You do."
You stayed quiet, feeling exposed. Then you gradually asked:
"Are you..mad at me for falling for ...your dad? I'm so sorry please.."
"Are you really that dumb Y/n? I told you I set you two up. You think I would do all that if I was mad?"
"..."
"You are going to confess. I'll go out today with my dad. We will hang out, i'll bring my dad. I'll excuse myself. You will talk your heart out today!"
"Absolutely not!"
"Why not?"
"Your dad won't like me back. The hell are you saying?!"
"He does. I am telling you."
"Wait really?"
"Confess and see for yourself."
"But-"
"No buts!"
"Ugh-"
"You will confess or i'll set him up with another woman"
"What the hell bro?"
"I said what I said"
"Goddamn! Fine!"
"Good"
•You came back home. Your face was flushed. You were feeling nervous and excited at the same time. Megumi accepted you, even said his dad liked you back. You definitely needed to make a move the. Moreover, the way your buddy threatened you. You had to. You would definitely confess to Toji that evening! Yes! You could do it!!
Let's hope for the best, then :D

Fake It
Tumblr media
Summary : After lying and telling your family you had a boyfriend, they want you to bring him to a family gathering. Realizing you needed a fake boyfriend, you ask your friend for help. Warnings : ooc billy, not proof read bc im sleepy Notes : ooooh i like this idea, thank you for requesting it! i hope you enjoy it <3
You knew you shouldn't have told your gossipy aunt that you had a boyfriend. She was visiting and she kept getting on your nerves. While doing schoolwork, she sat next to you and started asking about your love life. You wanted her off your back so you said you had a boyfriend and she seemed pleased by your answer.
Then your mom asked you to bring this mystery boyfriend to your family get together.
Of course your aunt would tell your mom, she couldn't shut her mouth and when it came to her sister, it was physically impossible. Then she spread it to the rest of the family and now, only a week out from the gathering, you needed a boyfriend and fast.
You ran through any of your guy friends that could work, but most of them had met your family and they knew you'd never date any of them. Steve was the closest to a possible date, but he wasn't the best liar.
You were laying on your bed as you thought through all your options. Maybe you could say that you had broken up with this made-up guy, but your family would dig for details. Maybe you could say he went to another school in another county, but that would clearly be a lie.
Then it hit you. You knew a guy who hadn't met your family, you had barely mentioned him at all to them, and he could play the part well. You rolled over and grabbed the phone, dialing his number quickly. It ringed a few times before you heard him pick up.
"Hello?"
"Billy, I need your help."
"If this is about Mrs. Scott's research project, then-"
"No, it's nothing for school. I...I can explain this later but I need you to be my fake boyfriend."
Billy went quiet for a few moments and you thought he hung up.
"Billy, you there?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm here. It's just...fake boyfriend?" He replied before laughing. "I mean, in what situation do you need a fake boyfriend? You could easily get any guy to actually date you, why ask me?"
"Listen, my aunt told my entire family I have a boyfriend and they all want me to bring him to this family gathering I'm having. It'll just be a one time thing. You'll drive us there, we'll act like a nice couple, then go home and hopefully my family will stop bothering me."
"Okay...what's in it for me?"
You sighed, rolling onto you back to look at the ceiling. "Name it."
Billy thought for a moment, then said, "I want one real date."
"A...real date?"
"Mhm," he hummed.
You twisted the phone cord around your finger as blush warmed your cheeks. "Fine, we'll go on a real date."
"Alright, babe, see you at school."
You giggled. "Bye, Billy."
You heard a click from his end before you put your phone up, taking a deep breath. You couldn't believe Billy Hargrove agreed to be your fake boyfriend for your family gathering in exchange for a date.
--
The following week consisted of you and Billy hanging out at school more and calling each other at night. You two basically planned your entire relationship out, making sure your family couldn't poke holes in it. You two met at school in english class, he would walk you to your locker and next class everyday, you caught feelings but he confessed first, your first date was at a diner near the school, you go to all of his sports games and wear his jacket.
The day of your family get together, you got ready and waited for Billy to pick you up. Your parents had already gone over and most of your family has probable done the same. You heard Billy's Camaro pull into your driveway and you went out to meet him.
You slid into the passenger's seat and as you buckled your seatbelt, Billy leaned over and kissed your cheek. You instantly blushed, you hand reaching up to touch where his lips just were.
"W-what was that for?" You asked, a smile pulling at your lips.
"I'm getting into character," he answered, taking your hand in his and intertwining your fingers as he pulled out of the driveway.
You two pulled to the side of the road, across the street from your grandma's house. You both got out of the car and when you reached Billy's side, his hand found yours again. You smiled at him then led him to the front door.
You rang the doorbell and you heard a loud conversation approach the door, no doubt your grandma and your gossipy aunt. The door swung open and the conversation stopped, being replaced with excited cheers from your grandma and aunt.
"Oh, it's so good to see you, sweetheart!" Your grandma exclaimed, pulling you into a hug and squeezing you tightly.
"It's good to see you, too, grandma," you said as you pulled away from her tight grip. You saw your aunt and grandma's attention go from you to Billy.
"And who is this?" Your grandma asked, looking him up and down.
"This is my boyfriend, Billy," you quickly answered.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am," Billy said, shaking your grandma's hand carefully.
You smiled and slipped by as your grandma started to talk his ear off and compliment him. You gave your aunt a quick hug. You noticed how she was looking at you then Billy.
"This is the boyfriend you told me about?" Your aunt asked.
"Yes, why would I lie about that?"
She sighed and mumbled something about getting more wine. You looked over at you grandma and Billy, the two laughing at something Billy had said. Seeing him dressed up nicer than usual and getting along so well with your loved ones caused butterflies to flutter in your stomach.
Billy looked up from your grandma and made eye contact with you. You saw a soft smile slowly form on his face, which made you blush. Your grandma grabbed his hand then yours, snapping you two out of your little moment.
"You two must be starving! Come on, we were waiting on you two eat."
--
The actual dinner was easy. Everyone was mainly focused on eating, asking a few questions about you and Billy here and there. Sometime during dinner, Billy placed his hand on your knee. You kept your head down as you ate because you knew you were blushing.
But, of course, your aunt noticed. She swirled her glass of wine before taking a sip and placing it down. "So, Billy, what do you plan to do with my sweet, sweet niece after high school?"
"Oh, um," Billy muttered, looking at you and trying to think of an answer. You moved his hand from your knee and held it under the table, smiling at him. "Well, maybe move back to my hometown in California. I want to help her through college or her career, whatever she wants to do. Maybe even marry her one day."
Your mother and grandma 'aw'ed at the two of you as you smiled at each other. You aunt, however, still wasn't convinced. "You should know what she wants to do after high school, she never stops talking about her plans for the future."
You quickly tried to take control over the conversation. "Sometimes people change their minds once they actually graduate high school, you know? I mean, I know what I want but I don't know what I'm going to do until it actually happens."
"Hmm," you aunt hummed, grabbing her wine glass and leaning back in her chair. Her eyes darted between you and Billy, a skeptical look in her eyes. "You two are faking it."
"Honey, they're a young couple. Leave them alone-"
"No, mom, they're clearly faking it," you aunt said, cutting off your grandma. "He doesn't know what she wants after high school, he hasn't even thought about their future. I mean, it's clearly there-"
"I'm sorry not everyone has their entire lives planned out step by step!" You exclaimed. "I mean, you didn't even have your life planned out this far!"
"You two are faking it," you aunt paused and leaned in closer, "and you both are terrible liars."
You quickly got up from your seat and left the table, storming out of the room. Billy watched you leave before quickly following you. You walked outside, leaving the door open behind you since you knew Billy was following you.
"I can't believe her! It's probably just the wine, she can never get enough of it-"
"Hey-"
"I mean, how dare she judge us? Her marriage failed and it didn't even last 5 years-"
"Babe-"
"Maybe we should just go in there and admit it. Then we can leave and go our separate ways and-"
You finally stopped talking when Billy yelled your name. You looked at him, noticing how close you two were.
"What?" You asked.
Billy hesitated for a second then cupped your cheeks and kissed you. You melted almost instantly, your hands reaching up to get lost in his curly hair. His hands fell from your cheeks to your waist, pulling you as close as possible. You were on your tippy toes and you tilted your head to the side to deepen the kiss.
"Hey sweetie, I'm sorry-" You aunt walked out but froze when she saw you and Billy kissing. She quickly turned and walked away.
You two pulled away when she was gone, looking over at the door and laughing.
"Do you think she thinks we're faking now?" He joked.
"I doubt it, but there's one more thing we can do to really prove it."
"And what's that?"
"I owe you a date, remember?"
Billy smiled, cupping your cheek again before giving you a quick kiss. "Maybe we can that first date at the diner real."

Master List

Camila was friends with my mom back in high school. They always hung out with each other, which led to Luz and I becoming friends. In fact we were basically siblings. We definitely acted like siblings.
So when I heard that her mom was sending her to a camp called 'Reality Check', I was astounded. I mean Luz's imagination made her an interesting person to be friends with. We'd always  come up with fantastical stories and pretend to be the main characters. It's something that made Luz charming, even if she would get in trouble...a lot.
So, I bought a necklace that referenced Azura The Good Witch, a book we both enjoyed. I made sure she got it before leaving since she wasn't allowed anything that was imaginative.
That summer was more boring for me.  I stayed home when my mom went to visit Camila. I mean what was the point? My mom didn't mind since she trusted me. I was 17 after all.
I would text Luz, checking up on her. But her replies were...very dry. I felt concerned about that because normally she was very expressive with her texts.
When Luz came back something was...off. She was more jittery and she would forget things that we used to do. She was more tame and she seemed distant from me. Not to mention I didn't see her with the necklace I gifted her the day before she left to camp. Then, my mom told me that she hasn't been in touch with Camila for a few weeks. So I decided to stop by and check in on Luz after school.
I knocked on the door. I heard shuffling, before the door opened to reveal Camila.
"Oh!" She exclaimed with surprise. "(Y/n), I wasn't expecting you."
"Yeah," I smiled back. "Is Luz free? I was wanting to hang out."
"Oh dear," I heard her mutter. "Come in, I'll go see."
I gave her my thanks as I went to sit on the couch. I checked my social media as I waited. I heard footsteps coming down the creaky staircase and turned to see who it was. There stood Luz as she stared at me, a shaky smile adorning her face.
She seemed...different from the Luz that came back from camp. I mean on one hand her hair is longer and I don't think hair grows that fast in two weeks. Not only that, but her stare was one akin to that of someone meeting another they haven't seen in a long time. And I don't think two weeks constitutes that. She dashed towards me and squeezed me in a hug like her life depended on it. I let out a gasp at the force and wrapped my arms around her, still confused.
"Hey Bubba," I said. "Is something wrong?"
"I missed you so much (n/n)," She cried into my neck. Laughing slightly and pulling away she continued, "Boy do I have a lot to tell you."
Camila brought us both some tea and sat with us. Luz then went over how she never made it to camp, that she found herself in a magical universe that had witches, demons, and more. How she made friends there and even went to a school for witches. How Belos was also human but tried to wipe out all witch kind. And how she was forced to escape when the Collector started to take over.
I took in all this information and...I didn't know what to think. Luz made up stories all the time...but this one was so detailed and she looked dead serious. But if she was gone, who came back from the camp? And Luz answered that as well, as they were a demon from the same universe that Luz went to.
"Wait, you got a girlfriend?" I exclaimed with wide eyes.
Luz stared at me blankly, then shouted, "That's what you got from all that?"
After that I came over more. I helped Camila with whatever I could. I met all of Luz's friends. They were really nice. Currently I am helping her make dinner. Hunter joined not too much later, asking how he could help. So Camila had him set the table as the food was almost done.
"Thank you for setting the table Hunter," Camila thanked, before she called everyone to come down for dinner. He smiled sheepishly as we all took our seats.
That's something I noticed, Hunter was always trying to help Camila out. It was sweet honestly. I recall that Luz mentioned he didn't get complimented often, so that's why he probably did the chores all the time. To get complimented by Camila.
Once we all finished eating, I started to pick up the dishes.
"Oh, I can do that-"
Luz got cut off as Hunter took the plates from my hands, "I got it."
I trailed behind him and said somewhat awkwardly, "I'll help. I can rinse and dry the dishes and you can wash."
He nodded and we proceeded to wash the dishes. I kept glancing at him. I found myself growing fond of him. He tended to be quiet, and he seemed closed off, but he was nice. Not to mention he looked pretty. Could you blame me for admiring him? I've never seen anyone like him before. His blonde hair always seemed to be messy, and his eyes were a dark shade of magenta, reminding me of cherry wine. I noticed he had a gap tooth that I found adorable but I won't let him know that. His eyes weren't the only unusual feature he had, as his ears were pointed. The others had pointed ears too, but for some reason my eyes were always drawn to his.
I dried a dish and put it away, glancing at Hunter once more, only to meet his gaze. I tried to seem unphased and sent him an awkward smile. He looked back down at the last pan that needed to be washed and I felt so anxious. The sudden need to get out of this situation rushed through my system as I felt embarrassed. I kept my gaze on my side of the sink, not looking up as he passed me the pan. I expected him to leave, I mean he was done with his part, but he lingered.
I heard someone whisper and I turned towards the doorway. Luz stood there whispering to Amity and the smile on Luz’s face scared me. She looked like she was up to something and I always knew that didn’t end well. Hunter followed my gaze and he frowned slightly.
“She’s up to something,” I heard him mumble.
“Yeah,” I nodded, going back to putting the pan away. “Let’s just hope it doesn’t turn out terrible.”
I dried off my hands as Camila came in smiling, “Thank you kids. Good job with the dishes.”
I saw Hunter smile once more, and I replied, “Of course! But I should head home now.”
“Of course,” She nodded, patting my shoulder. “Don’t want your mom to worry.”
~~~~
“Okay so we’re gonna have to split up,” Luz spoke up, gaining everyone’s attention. “Hunter, Willow, Gus, you’re with (n/n). Amity, Vee, you’re with me and mamá.”
Today, we were going to the aquarium. Since Camila’s car could only hold five people, I volunteered to drive as well since I had my license. We all piled into the cars and I followed Camila. Hunter sat in the passenger seat, Gus and Willow in the back. The entire time Gus was in aw, staring out the window. I kept my music quiet, so I didn’t disturb anyone.
Once we got there, we all made sure we had everything. Making our way inside, they started to group up. Amity and Luz stood together, being cute and all that. Vee and Camila stood back, watching the fish together. Willow watched as Gus put his face on the glass. Hunter was going towards Gus and I turned to go by Camila and Vee.
“Why don’t you join us, (y/n)?” Willow called out, stopping me in my tracks. I turned and joined them. Willow kept an eye on Gus as he read all about the various fish. I stood awkwardly by Hunter as we watched them. I couldn’t help but notice that Hunter’s attention was set on a sawshark. I watched it as well when he spoke up.
“I thought you didn’t have demons?” Hunter questioned, glancing at me in confusion.
“If you think that looks like a demon, wait till we get to the deep sea area,” I countered with a smile. He tilted his head in curiosity, so I waved him to follow me. Willow and Gus seemed busy anyways so I didn’t see any harm in leaving them to watch the sharks. Hunter followed closely as we entered the dimly lit space. To our left was an angler fish, her antenna glowing, showing off her sharp teeth and gaping jaw.
“Only the females get this big,” I spoke up as he stared at the creepy fish. “They use their antennae to lure in their prey since it’s completely dark where they live.”
“Luz thought the demon realm had weird creatures, but the human realm isn’t much better,” I heard Hunter mutter.
I let out a light laugh, “Yeah, there’s a ton of creepy animals in our world, but we don’t really see them.”
We continued on throughout the deep sea exhibit. I would give some offhand facts about the fish he seemed interested in (if I knew any). I internally patted my own back at the fact I had a phase where I was interested in creepy fish. Who knew I would use the information to definitely not try and impress someone I may or may not find attractive.
“You sure know a lot about fish,” Hunter said after I gave him a fact about Vampire Squids.
“That’s because they’re a nerd,” Luz said out of seemingly nowhere. I jumped in surprise and turned around to see them with a smug grin. Amity stood next to them shaking her head slightly. “Oh sorry,” Luz said with fake innocence. “Did I interrupt your date?”
Hunter sputtered and my jaw dropped at her audacity, “Luz you little-” I would’ve chased after, if only we weren’t in a public space.
“I tried to stop her,” Amity spoke sheepishly, then walked off to where Luz ran. She was very obviously hiding behind a wall staring at us and giggling like a maniac.
“I’m sorry about Luz,” I sighed, trying to ignore the embarrassment that still rushed through me. “She tends to be eccentric.”
Hunter sighed as well before sending me a reassuring smile, “Trust me, I know all too well.”  And wait…was he blushing? Great. Now it was awkward again. I turned back to look at the red squid whose exhibit we stood in front of and I tried to get my mind off of what just happened.
“Uhm…” Hunter trailed off, looking at the side of my face nervously. “If it makes you feel better, Luz thinks I’m a nerd too.” I glanced at him, that definitely wasn’t the problem, but that piqued my curiosity. My focus drifted back to the magical boy next to me, our eyes meeting.
“About…um demons?” I asked, not fully sure about what there is in the realm he’s from.
“Magic,” He corrected, he looked to the side and hesitated before he continued. “Wild magic.” The way he said wild magic, it was like he was saying something that was forbidden.
“That sounds cool,” I smiled. “Maybe next time you could tell me about magic. Luz hasn’t really had the time to explain anything about your realm to me yet.”
“Oh, uh, y-yeah, sure,” Hunter said, stuttering, and omg the tips of his ears can blush? “Next time…”
sam
sam came in with another dumb grin on his face, and told annie that he'd gone over to his sister's place a few days ago and that she'd been in just a robe. he said they sat on the couch to chat and have tea and he could see a good portion of her bush. he said after a minute he pointed it out, and she'd opened her legs to look down at her self and had basically flashed her entire pussy at him. and he went "whoa" and she said, "nothing you haven't seen before," and he said, "that's true," and he said, "do you like that, that you don't feel like you have to cover up for me?" and she said, "yeah it is kind of nice," and took her robe off. and they sat there and visited and had tea while she just sat naked on her couch. annie asked him why he didn't pull out his dick and he laughed and said, "maybe when she comes to my house or something."
then he told annie that he had honestly really enjoyed the conversation they'd had, and that her nudity had helped him be honest and forthright with her and made him feel like he could trust her more.
so annie took off her shirt.
"uh," sam said.
annie unhooked her bra and took it off. "well, you said this makes you feel more honest and forthright, right? so it's probably good for therapy."
"you have amazing tits," he said. "sorry."
"it's fine, i know," annie said.
he looked at her pants, expectantly. annie hadn't planned to take the rest off, but fuck it. she stood up, unhooked her pants, and pulled them and her panties down, and sat back down in her chair on her knees so he could see her bush.
"can i get naked too?" he said.
"of course," annie said.
he stripped down quickly. he had a big dick, which was moderately hard. he gestured apologetically at it.
"it's fine," annie said. "i don't mind."
and then they talked. they talked about his connection to his sister vs. his connection with his parents. they talked about what his sister seemed to have in life and what parts of it he wanted and what parts repelled him. and then their hour was up, which annie demonstrated by pulling her pants and panties back on.
"you're like, very radical in your approach," he said. "i love it."
annie felt pretty proud of herself that evening, and stopped for a solo cocktail and chatted with her father on the phone.
"have you ever fucked a patient?" she asked him. "be honest."
"yeah," he said. "a few of them."
"what were they like?"
"younger women," he said. "when you kids were little and your mom wasn't fucking me that often."
"how young?"
"18, 19."
"hot," annie said.
"it really was."
"did you do them in your office?"
"sometimes. sometimes i went back to their apartments."
"did you continue on as their therapist?"
"yes," he said. "why are you screwing another patient?"
"no," she said. "i got naked for one today."
"why?" he asked.
"a show of intimacy."
"is that why you're always naked around me?"
"yes, plus i'm just hungry for your approval in all ways. including your sexual approval."
"well, I'm not sure how i'd grant you that."
"i could suck you off."
he laughed. "you would, wouldn't you?"
"of course," she said.
"well, you're a very loyal woman. i like that. i don't need you to do that to me but i'm happy to help you feel more approved of in other ways."
"you should touch me more often," annie said. "just more physical affection in general. i think that would fix me, emotionally."
"okay," he said. "i will keep that in mind."
and he did seem to. the next time he visited annie, both in her apartment and in public he put his hands on her a lot. the small of her back, her ass, her hand, her wrist, her face. after he left, annie eagerly fucked robbie's brains out.
that evening, still buzzing and horny, she went to dinner with richard. lately she'd been meeting him at his office for "sessions" which she was no longer even charging him for. they were visits, social calls, really, and they'd sit in his office and chat for an hour or more.
tonight, after a lovely, boozy dinner, they went back to richard's apartment and had a very wild fuck. richard drunkenly told annie he wanted to fuck a baby into her, and she begged him to cum inside her, which he did.
"would you really want to get me pregnant?" annie asked him after.
"well, i don't want more children. but i do think you'd look very sexy pregnant," he said.
"i agree," she said. "you know who else would look good pregnant? sophie."
"i am not ready to be a grandfather, but i agree," he said. instinctively, he started playing with annie's pubic hair. "my two hairy women."
"how is sophie's bush looking these days?"
"not sure," he said. "you can ask her."
annie called sophie on facetime. it was 7am in france, and she answered from her bed.
"morning," she said. "what are you two up to?"
"just having a nice evening," annie said. "i was asking your dad about your bush and he said he didn't know how it looked lately."
"oh, i have been remiss," she said. she turned her phone camera to the other side and moved her blankets and pulled her panties down. annie and richard looked at her full mound of dark pubic hair. "very full right now."
"gorgeous" annie said.
"and you?" sophie asked.
annie turned the camera around and moved the blankets, giving sophie a view of her bush and of richard's cock. annie instinctively began to stroke richard with her free hand.
"ooh, are you gonna make him cum for me?" sophie asked. richard chuckled.
"of course," annie said. she handed richard the phone and went down on him.
"well, this is new," richard said, holding the phone-- annie gathered that sophie had reversed the camera again so her father could see her face, but she could see his cock in annie's mouth, because he said, "it's nice to see your face."
"it's nice to see your cock being taken care of," sophie said. "plus you don't want to see what i'm doing now."
richard was very hard. annie was doing her most visually appealing work for sophie, licking his shaft, sucking his balls, spitting on him.
"annie you are so fucking good," sophie said, loudly so annie could hear. then she said, quieter, "are you gonna cum for me, daddy?"
when richard started to shoot his cum on annie's tongue, she moved her mouth to show as much of it as she could. she spit his cum back onto his shaft and then licked it up, and then repeated the process.
"oh god!" sophie gasped. "fuck!"
richard turned the phone to show annie that sophie had reversed the camera again and was showing herself frantically rubbing her clit.
"daddy?" sophie called.
"yes honey," he said softly.
"i'm fucking cumming."
"good girl," he told her.
"oh my GOD," she said. her phone dropped into her bed for a moment. they could hear her breathing. "that was the best orgasm i have had since i got back," she said.
a few days later when annie saw richard again, he told her that sophie had called twice now to do a repeat performance for him. not asking to see anything, just asking if he'd watch her jerk off.
"how do you like it?" she asked.
"it makes me feel very powerful," he said. "but also, my god does her pussy look like her mother's."
His Pet
Alastor X OC
Chapter 12
(Both covers for the song i had in mind for this chapter. 1. 2. )
Zariah entered Alastor's bedroom behind him and as soon as the door was locked, she hugged him from behind and poured healing energy into him. He felt her warmth filling his tired, broken bones and mending them.
“Ah, my clever little fox. Such a good pet you are.” His voice was filled with relief, as the constant throbbing pain began to cease.
“I got you Al.” She smiled softly, happy to be of help.
He gently peeled her off of him when he was all better, “Alright, that's enough.”
She frowned as she let him go, “Aw, okay.”
He chuckled, “I'd like to change out of my blood soaked clothes, that's all darling.” He then stepped away to his wardrobe. He chose a more relaxed outfit, then used magic and shadows to change instantly. “There we are, much better.”
He then raised a hand and music began to play on the radio in his room. “Come dance with me, my pet. You've earned a treat yourself.”
“Oh… but I don't know how to dance.” She blushed, tails twisting together behind herself in nervousness. “I'm afraid I'll step on your feet.”
He smiled fondly, “Do you trust me?” She silently nodded. “Then just take my hand, darling. I'll teach you.”
Zariah stepped forward and took his hand. “We'll start slow, something simple.” He guided her through the motions of a basic slow dance, using his magic to correct and guide her seamlessly. He hummed along to the melody of the song, it was something soft and jazzy.
“When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more.”
Zariah blushed again, oh no, there go the butterflies in her gut again! And she knew this song too! She decided to join in and sing the next verse.
“Like a flower bending in the breeze
Bend with me, sway with ease
When we dance, you have a way with me
Stay with me, sway with me.”
Alastor was surprised by her singing along, but he grinned wide, he was fond of her voice. So they sang the chorus together and switched off each verse as they sang and danced together.
After the song came to a close, he held her to his chest, “My dear pet, you are just full of surprises. The more I learn of you, the more fun you are to have around. A lovely little stress reliever, as any good pet should be.”
She laughed at his choice of words, “If anyone else called me that, I'd think they were trying to seduce me! You gotta watch that wording Al, especially when you're using your deeper voice like that. Someone might think you've got less than pure intentions.”
He laughed along with her, “Oh dear, I suppose you're right! I didn't think that could be interpreted that way. Yet you did? Hm, spending so much time with Angel must be rotting your brain to degeneracy. How unfortunate.”
“Oh no, I've always been great at making the raunchiest jokes of all my friends. If I wanted, I could probably even make Dusty blush!” She sounded so proud of this.
“Hm, well, now that would be an accomplishment.” He then sighed, “I think I may be due for a nap, my dear. Would you like to join me?”
“Sure! I'd love an excuse to hold you for longer.”
He led her over to his bed and laid down, letting her snuggle into his chest before he began petting her hair.
She reached a hand up to pet his head as well, and he allowed it for the briefest moment until she touched one of his ears. Then he caught her wrist gently, “Ah ah, my dear. Not the ears.” He didn't explain, but his cheeks had a slight flush to them.
“Oh, sorry. Can I pet the rest of your head if I'm careful? I used to give my mom head massages after work when I was little, she always said I was very good at it.”
“Oh? Maybe another time. You two must have had a very good relationship then… Tell me, do you ever miss her?” He placed her hand back on his chest before releasing her wrist.
“Yeah, sometimes. Even into my adult life, I'd visit her every chance I got after I'd moved out.”
“So.. you said before you'd visit my mother? How often?” He decided it was time to address this.
“She and my mom are neighbors in heaven actually, so I'd visit them both at the same time. Funny little coincidence that our mom's are friends and hang out! Last time I visited, they were both taking pottery classes…. They're probably wondering why I haven't visited in a while…” She frowned.
“Ah, dear… that is a problem…” He looked troubled by this news.
“If I find a way to visit heaven, would you like me to say anything to your mom? Anything you'd want me to bring her?” She kept her voice soft and ran a hand along his upper arm. He held her tighter.
“You plan to go back to heaven?” He wouldn't allow it. She was his.
“Not to stay, more like breaking in to let my mom know I still love her, but I'm going to be away for a while. Make up a lie about being on a secret mission for heaven or something.” She hugged back tight too. “I'll never leave you, Al. You're my special person now. I love you, and I'll say it as many times as it takes for you to believe me.”
He sighed, “Very well, my pet… if you do manage to find a way into heaven, tell her I love her still and think of her everyday. I… do not feel the need to lie to her about why I am here. She will either love me as always, or reject me as heaven did for my sins. It is her right to make that decision and I don't wish to take that from her.” He went back to petting Zariah's hair.
Little White Dress
Jason Todd x FemAmazonian!Reader
Prompt: Jason see’s Y/N in a wedding dress and images her being wed to him.
A/N: The actual request was very long. But I hope I you enjoy it @oyasumimosura (:
Jason wasn't sure why he kept his resurgence a secret from you. You were one of the only people he had ever felt close to. Growing up as the sidekick to one of the most well known superheroes in the world would do that.
He was Robin, sidekick to the one and only Batman.
You were Y/H/N, sidekick to the one and only Wonder Woman.
You two had met at one of Bruce’s fancy Gala’s. Jason had to be dragged there, while you went because you wanted to. Seeing the world outside of Themyscira was still new to you. Diana had warned you of the dangers in the outside world. You always listened to your mentor, yet somehow, you both ended up leaving the party halfway there to go visit a local chili dog man that Jason deemed ‘the best chili dogs in all of the East coast’. Jason was the first boy your age you had ever encountered. You trusted him, even though you had only met him that night. You two became fast friends after that. Whenever the league had big business, you two always met up.
Having a secret identity wasn’t always very easy. Especially when there were basically no heroes your age. So the friendship came naturally. Sadly, it never got farther than that. Jason was going to confess to you at some point. But the Joker ruined that plan.
But deep down, he knew why the Red Hood never introduced himself.
By the time he had finally recovered mentally from the pit, you had hung up your sword and lasso. Jason had followed you home one day. Funny enough, he spotted you at the chili dog cart. He was surprised to see you were in Gotham. He didn’t exactly have the best relationship with the league given his reputation. He couldn't just walk up to Wonder Woman and ask about you.
Which is why he kept a close eye on you after spotting you in Gotham that day.
You were living in a small apartment in Old Gotham. You didn’t seem to live a lavish lifestyle. You kept to yourself mostly. He was quick to learn that your day job was now working at a luxurious dress shop in the Diamond District. It didn’t take him long to learn your schedule. He was a little disappointed that you had given up a life of superheroing to be a regular Gotham civilian. But you often ended your days with a smile. He was happy you moved on from his death.
He often followed you home at night. He knew you could defend yourself if anything ever happened, but he just wanted to make sure you were safe.
He stopped by one night to see that the store was still open, well after closing time. He noticed there were a few rich looking people in the shop. Rich folk often asked for special treatment, so your team was likely keeping the shop open just for them. Crime was slow that night, so he kept his distance and watched from afar.
*******
“Thank you so much for accommodating our appointment.” The future bride said to you. Her mom merely kept her head held high and nodded.
You were exhausted from working a 10 hour shift. But your boss had asked you to stay an extra 2 hours to help two exclusive customers shop for a wedding dress. Exclusive was code for “Rich folk who had lots of money to spend”. So you obliged and put on a happy face to greet the customers.
After about 30 minutes of shopping, the bride and her family had finally picked out about 5 dresses. You and your co-worker were glad that they only chose 5. People like them usually wanted to see every dress on the rack.
After trying on four of the dresses, they were down to the last one.
“Do you mind trying this one on for me?” The bride asked out of nowhere.
“Me? Why me? Don’t you want to try it on?”
“Well, your hair is the color I want to dye my hair for the wedding. And I want to see it on someone with that hair color.”
“Well we usually don't do that.”
Your coworker nudged you in the side and whispered, “Just do it so we can go home.” In her regular voice she said, “Of course Y/N can do it! And would you look at that, the dress is her exact size!” She said happily, taking the dress from the girl and handing it to you. All while shoving you toward the dressing room.
It took a few minutes as you weren't exactly wearing the correct undergarments for a wedding dress. You smiled after seeing yourself in the mirror. You hadn’t really thought about ever getting married. Growing up as an Amazon, you never really thought about dating, let alone actually being in a committed relationship with anyone. You had to admit, the dress was beautiful. It wasn’t something you would want to wear at your wedding, but the delicate lace and perfect fit made you look like one hell of a bride.
You took a deep breath, and stepped out of the dressing room. “Well let's get this over with.” you said with a sigh.
******
Jason had been in the same spot for about an hour now. He could never understand why women took so much time shopping. He saw you disappear into one of the dressing rooms, and step out a few minutes later.
His jaw would have dropped open, if it wasn’t for his Red Hood Mask.
You stepped out wearing a beautiful white wedding dress. The dress looked as if it was designed for you in mind. It hugged you perfectly at all your curves. He could tell you were nervous as your cheeks were tinted slightly pink. He forgot how beautiful you really were. You turned around a few times and everyone in the room clapped.
For the first time since his death, Jason smiled.
In that moment, he remembered why he fell in love with you. He could feel his heart skip a beat as he imagined you walking towards him down the aisle in that beautiful wedding dress. It would be a small ceremony. Close friends, and some heroes of course. Your circle was a lot bigger than his. He would be waiting anxiously at the end of the aisle. As you appeared in front of the crowd, they would all turn to look at you in admiration. Jason’s heart filled with hope and happiness.
Maybe one day, this would be a reality.
The moment was cut short as everyone in the room agreed that the dress was perfect for the bride to be. So once again, Y/N disappeared into the back of the room as her co-worker helped the family with the paperwork in the front.
****** You had just stepped through the door and fell onto your couch in the living room. You were still a little bit giddy about seeing yourself in that beautiful dress. Not once in your time working at that shop had you ever thought about trying on one of the dresses. But today, that all changed.
Maybe it was time to get back out there.
Just as you finished your thought, you hear a knock at your door. You were instantly on edge as it was nearly 11PM. Who would be visiting you at this hour? You instinctively grabbed some pepper spray, and looked through the peephole. It was a man, his face turned away. He didn’t seem armed or dangerous, but you kept your pepper spray just in case.
You opened the door to peek out, but instantly your eyes went wide when you regonzed who it was standing in front of you.
“Hey Y/N.” Jason said. “You busy tonight?”
And that is where I will leave that. The rest is up to your imagination c: Jason deserves all the love. <3
❝how did love become love?❞
I don’t really remember life before Fujio Hanaoka. But then again, who genuinely remembers life before middle school? I met Fujio in middle school, 6th grade to be exact. Fujio came to my middle school around a month after it started because he was visiting his grandfather in the countryside and his mother decided to prolong their stay. One thing I noticed was that Fujio was popular. Very very popular among all the kids in class. It was then I realized that I was the outsider in this classroom. Everyone had gone to the same elementary school in this classroom and they all already knew each other. But I didn’t feel like an outsider for too long because the teacher had Fujio sit next to me since it was the only empty seat left. I had always been a pretty shy kid so making conversation was always hard but it seems that Fujio knew that so he talked to me first. We talked about the elementary schools we went to, the area we lived in, what we wanted to be when we grew up, and the annoying people in the class. Fujio talked and talked and talked to me and all I did was listen.
It wasn’t long till I fell in love.
Fujio knew everything about me. He’d been there at almost every major stage of my life.
Fujio was the one that taught me how to ride a bike, he was the one that listened when I felt insecure about the way I looked, he listened to me talk about my dreams and aspirations, we celebrated when I got her first period with cake(It was more like comforting but it was still a core memory). We’ve been with each other for really most of the important parts of our lives. But I wasn’t his best friend nor was I the one he loved. He loved me but not in the way I wanted him to.
Middle school ends quicker than I wanted and high school starts. We don’t go to the same high schools but at least it’s in the same area. Fujio goes to Oya High and I go to Meiwa Girls School. It’s like a 5-minute distance from each other. Fujio stays at Oya High for a week until he has to go to the countryside to help his mom take care of his grandfather. I was absolutely devastated but there isn’t anything I could do. I became friends with Tsukasa Takajo during Fujio’s year-long absence. It seemed the blonde boy misses Fujio too. Things happen in SWORD but that isn’t too important. Nothing was really important to me while Fujio was gone. It sounds stupid I know but I was a bit of a hopeless romantic. It was horrible, I know. I waited and waited and waited.
Things happen during Fujio’s absence other than that whole shit show that is SWORD’s politics. I meet a guy. He’s sweet. He goes to Shutoku Boys High School. We got together too fast. I used to say it was love at first sight. I think I was wrong. No, I definitely was wrong. I don’t really remember how we met— they say the brain blocks out things that were traumatic and too much for it to handle. Was that how it was for me? Things were sweet at first, we’d text and call each other all the time. He was sweet. I think I loved him at one point, at some point. But none of that matters. None of it matters after everything he’d done. We’d talk to each other all the time, eventually, my sleep was gone trying to comfort him about the breakup he had 3 years ago, going out with my friends after school stopped and so did so many other things. I used to really like swimming, I don’t remember the last time I went. I guess I lost all the motivation to do anything.
I thought it was fine. I thought this was love. I was wrong.
It was a conversation with Tsukasa I had during my 6th month with him that made me realize what was wrong. “Sweetie, you do know you’re getting abused right?” Tsukasa said with his signature blank face, using the pet name akin to an insult
I laughed awkwardly because I in fact did not know that. It took all night for me to convince Tsukasa not to go beat the shit out of my boyfriend. I think if Tsukasa hadn’t been all burnt out since Fujio’s departure he definitely would have gone to Shutoku and beat the shit out of the guy.
Breaking up with him had been the hardest part. It took 4 months, and 4 tries. Todoroki had been helpful in that. The last try was where Todoroki came in. I won’t go into detail but jealousy and me having to stand my ground was involved. The breakup wasn’t pretty but I was free. Surprisingly I didn’t cry. The breakup happened at 6 am, the morning before a major math test. I’m pretty sure I failed but it was okay, I was free and it was all that mattered. I went to Oya High that day and skipped the rest of my afternoon classes, I wanted to tell Tsukasa and Todoroki about it in person. Turns out, everyone knew about my little problem. Maybe it was because of my very obvious physically deteriorating health and the depression I think I had that made me lose so much motivation that my curly hair was now straight and frizzy. It was nice to have all the support.
Mostly everyone was supportive and I think I may have talked about it too much, my past relationship I mean. But I just wanted the validation that I wasn’t wrong, that I wasn’t going crazy and all the things he did to me were in fact wrong and disgusting. But some people said it was my fault. Some said I should have left earlier. It made me feel worse. Tsukasa says they’ll never know what I went through unless they’ve experienced the same thing. No one will know about the nights I stayed up crying, not eating and— ah~ I’m rambling again.
This guy had been a huge factor as to why I changed so much. When I was young, I had issues with eating, I didn’t eat that much and it bothered my mom. But when I did eat she’d encourage me to keep eating so I didn’t fucking die of starvation or something. My ex had been the first to ever tell me to stop eating. I guess it messed me up a lot. Even after I broke up with him, getting back into my usual more healthy habits was hard. Really hard.
My confidence had already been non-existent before but after the breakup, fucking hell I felt terrible.
It was 3rd year and my grades were horrible, my skin, my teeth, my hair. I just really wasn’t having a good time. I used to drink before. For fun. Now it was just to forget. I wasn’t sad about the breakup itself, I wanted to forget about all that he’d done to me, everything I went through. I was angry. It made me angry that I went through that. How could I let myself go through it? Why didn’t I leave? I think all the anger I was feeling just drowned out all of my sadness.
I let go of the chance of ever falling in love again. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to feel that way, this way ever again.
But I guess one part of me knew that if Fujio ever came back and asked for my heart, I’d tear through my skin and muscles and pry open my ribs to give it to him.
❝I’m hiding in the rain, always smiling❞
It was like the universe finally had pity on me and one day finally, Fujio comes back. I see him outside the gates of Meiwa. Girls are staring at him of course, watching from afar, giggling. I don’t blame them. Fujio was handsome. He had a nice smile and nice features. He was really really good-looking, even more than the last time I saw him. “Fujio” I said walking over, a huge smile on my face
Fujio smiles right back at me. “Hey, long time no see! Miss me?”
“Definitely didn’t” That was a lie, I did, I missed him a lot
We stayed out that night, catching up. I patched up Fujio’s knuckles as I usually did and now we were sitting at an empty park just on the border between Oya and Sannoh. We were sitting on the swings, Fujio right next to me. The sun is setting, lighting up our surroundings in a warm orange and pink. Fujio looks pretty. His tanned skin it lit up in gold. He looks gold. For all I know, Fuijo was spun from pure gold thread. “Tsukasa told me about it… You and that guy” He says
I already knew Tsukasa was going to tell him. I was always a bit scared of that, telling Fujio. Would he be one of the people that supported me and comforted me or would he be one of the people that blamed me for what happened? “Yeah…” I say hesitantly “It was… a lot”
I close my eyes silently waiting for some kind of belittlement or blame but instead, I feel someone stand in front of me. “Hey” Fujio says
I open my eyes. He’s standing in front of me looking down at me while I stay sitting on the swing. “You haven’t been taking care of yourself have you?” Fujio asks, hand coming up to take a strand of my hair between my
I flinch. That was a huge mistake. Anger flashes through Fujio’s eyes as does pity. I feel terrible. Fujio looks like he wants to ask me something but he doesn’t. What he does instead is crouch down in front of me. “Hey” He says, his voice is a little quieter now
I’ve never heard his voice sound like that. It’s new and for some weird reason, I feel guilty. Fujio is looking up at me from where he’s crouched down. The swings are pretty low to the ground so he isn’t tilted his head too far back and I’m not tilting my head too far down either. “You didn’t deserve that” Fujio says
He takes my hand. I know this was supposed to be something heartwarming but my heart was just beating so fast and I started imagining us getting married and having kids and having grandkids and— yeah I got carried away. “And I mean it” Fujio continues “I know whatever I say isn’t going to make it better or change anything that happened but you didn’t deserve that no matter what other people have been telling you”
Figures. Fujio knew what people were saying. He always did. “What if they’re right?” I ask
There always has been this voice in my head telling me that what happened was my fault, that I deserved it. I know I didn’t but, your mind tends to be your own enemy. Fujio scoffs. “Be fucking for real! You…” He tugs a little at my hand and takes the other one as well “...You are the nicest person in this shit hole that I know. You’re so nice to everyone, you may not be the smartest and you are a little stupid and slow but… You’re so sweet. Don’t fucking let anyone tell you it was your fault because no one except you knows what happened. Never, never in your life will you ever deserve to be treated like that.”
Not only did it make my heart feel like it was doing an Olympic-level gymnastics routine in my chest but, I think I finally got the validation I needed after everything that happened. Fujio did just call me stupid in the middle of it but that didn’t matter. Not now. “I’m so so proud of you for getting out of that relationship” Fujio’s thumbs rub along my knuckles, I think he felt me shaking “It doesn’t matter how long it took you, it matters that you did it. You’re okay or… You’re going to be okay. I promise I’ll help you and I’ll make sure that fucking piece of shit will never hurt you again”
Finally, finally I was comforted the way I wanted. I finally got to hear everything I wanted someone to tell me in the first place. Being told you weren’t too broken and you could still be healed felt good.
Hearing it from Fujio was really just a plus point.
❝Eyes meeting but hearts apart, it’s so sweet yet so bitter❞
Fujio was… Friendly. He was charismatic and very handsome so of course he’s had a bunch of girlfriends and talking stages and friends with benefits. A lot of girls liked him as well, many asking me to set them up with him. I guess in the end I’ll always be that one rare girl best friend that actually isn’t something to worry about. I’m not too sure how to feel about it. Sometimes it feels like Fujio has kissed everyone but me. Am I jealous? Of course, I am. Even now as he shows me a picture of the new girl he’s dating. “She’s pretty” I gush and nudge him, because if I don’t nudge him I might just kiss him
I think I’m a pretty good actor. I’m good at pretending that my heart isn’t tearing itself to shreds every time he talks about another girl. I should definitely win an Oscar award for these performances. I’ve never tried to make Fujio like me. Because I know he doesn’t and no matter what I do, it is no use. I’m not his type nor the one he will ever love. Love can happen eventually, I know that but Fujio will never love me, I’ve already come to terms with that. But even if I have, that doesn’t mean I’m over him. “You think so? Fujio says with a grin looking right at me
I nod. It’s really all I can do.
One thing Fujio likes doing is try to set me up with his friends. Today, it was Sachio. Don’t get me wrong. I like Sachio, but not the same way he likes me.
Sometimes I think my unrequited feelings for Fujio is just karma for all of Fujio’s friends I have rejected.
Fujio tells me Sachio really likes me. I think at one point I did like Sachio. He’s sweet. Really nice and respectful and would definitely be a better boyfriend than Fujio ever would be. But maybe it’s just me holding on so tightly to my first love, only ever having my eyes on Fujio that I’m not ever able to look at anyone else. I want to. I really do. But at the end of the day I always come back to him. I don’t expect for Fujio to return my feelings I just… I don’t know.
Maybe one day I’ll get over Fujio, move on. But I don’t think so it’ll happen soon.
I hope it does. Soon I mean.
Because my hands are starting to burn from the rope called first love I’ve been holding on so tight to.
❝Ruinous imagination consumes me, makes me dream sweeter dreams❞
“You really wanna meet Sachio?” Fujio asks me
“I’ve already met him Fujio” I tell him
Sachio was nice. I wasn’t over Fujio but I could stay stuck up on him either. It wasn’t healthy and I knew it. I should get over it, I should try. Not only to get over Fujio but also what my asshole ex did to me. Fujio aside, I was tired of feeling so angry all the time. I didn’t tell anyone that I felt angry rather than sad. What if I tell them and everyone that was supportive of me starts calling me crazy too, or stop supporting me through it? I think my emotions were always something I kept to myself. I didn’t want to tell anyone about it. It didn’t matter to me who stopped supporting me just not Fujio, never Fujio. I might actually go crazy if he does. Honestly speaking, I think I already am crazy. I won’t be surprised if I go for some psychiatric test and the results come out with a diagnosis telling me I’m crazy. After everything that’s happened paired with my weird dependency on Fujio, I think I am crazy. “Yeah but, no you know he likes you” Fujio says “Are you gonna give him a chance”
We’re inside a convenience store. Fujio wanted to get something to drink. He’s standing in front of the fridge trying to figure out what he wants while I’m standing in front of one of the glass doors of the fridge staring at my favourite drink. I want it. But I don’t really have the energy to bring my arm up and open the glass door. It’s weird. I don’t have the motivation to even do the things I like. I want to stop feeling like this. I thought being here with Fujio would distract me from the feeling but I guess not. I thought my heart was only filled with Fujio but that void after my breakup is getting bigger and it hurts. “Maybe…” I say, staring at my blurry reflection in the glass
I look tired. I’ve always had eyebags due to having low iron and a shitty sleep schedule but now they were darker. My skin thankfully looks the same and isn’t dull. I think I should thank myself for being so strict about my skincare routine and eating habits. But the glow in my skin doesn’t matter when the look in my eyes just shows how fucking exhausted I am. It’s not really my eyes that I’m worried about. It’s my hair. I’ve always loved my hair. Everyone has. It was curly and long and Fujio really liked it. It wasn’t curly-curly with ringlets but more wavy-curly. Now it was kinda straight and a little frizzy at the ends. Oh. It feels like I was seeing my own reflection after years. I look like this? This is what Sachio likes? I don’t think I’ve ever felt more ugly in my life. To make things even worse, there’s an annoying pain in lower belly. I’m on my fucking period. “...Hello?” Fujio nudges me
I look at him then look away. I can feel Fujio looking at me. I want him to stop. I feel gross. Fujio opens the door and I watch him take the drink I was staring at. “You were just staring at it” Fujio says
Before I could tell him I don’t want it, Fujio’s already heading for the counter and he pays. Oh. I think I’m going crazy. “Come on” Fujio calls
I follow his words and go outside. Fujio’s already sitting outside the convenience store on the curb. I sit down next to him. “You didn’t have to get that for me” I say
Fujio shakes his head. “You were just staring at it… So I got it for you” He says and opens up the drink before handing it to me
I take it. “Why were you staring at it?” He asks
I know I shouldn’t be admitting it out loud, but I tell him anyways. “I don’t know… I wanted to get it but like… I don’t know. It felt like too much work”
Had I been making any other expression, Fujio would have laughed at me and called me lazy. But no. Instead he gives me a sad look. “You’re fucking depressed” he says
Wow. I definitely wasn’t expecting that. “H-huh?”
“Don’t h-huh me!” He says, mimicking my words
Fujio grabs the drink he just gave me and aggressively puts the cap back on. “You need help” He grabs me by my shoulders and shakes me “Why didn’t you tell me before”
I feel weirdly ashamed right now. Tears well up in my eyes. “I told you that I’m here for you. If you’re feeling like fucking shit then you should tell me” Fujio says
He takes his hands off my shoulders and now he’s holding my face. Something wet touches my cheek and Fujio’s eyes soften. Oh. I’m crying. This was more embarrassing than it needed to be. “You don’t need to pretend to be happy or a certain way around me. I’ve already seen you being weird and fucking embarrassing! So please” Fujio says, his thumbs wiping away the tears running down my cheeks “Please just tell me what you feel. Tell me when you don’t feel okay, tell me when you’re sad, tell me if someone is hurting you, tell me if you’re scared. Just tell me”
I’m shaking. Fujio just keeps telling me everything is okay, that he’ll make everything okay. It’s unrealistic for him to say so, even I know that but any kind of comfort, even the unrealistic kind sounds nice when you’re hurting. “I promise… I promise, everything will be okay” He tells me and presses his forehead against mine
I guess there was a reason I was never able to fall out of love with Fujio. When he does things like this, how could I ever get over him?
❝I close my eyes but thoughts of you bring turmoil to my nights❞
“Has anyone ever told you how obvious you are?” Tsukasa says to me
I stare at him in confusion. We were on the top of the temple. Yes, the temple whose stairs Fujio falls down on a daily basis. We were meeting his new girlfriend. This sounds horrible but I’ve already forgotten her name. “Huh? Obvious about what?” I ask
Tsukasa nudges me. “You like him”
My hands tremble. I didn’t expect him to say that. “What? No” I deny it immediately
The blonde boy next to me on the bench only laughs. “You think I’m an idiot? You’re really really obvious. You like him, everyone knows”
Um. What? Tsukasa sees my reaction and sighs. I’m not sure what face I’m making but I think it might be the same one where Tsukasa told me I was getting abused. Fun right? “No one has told Fujio about it but he does know”
This just keeps getting even worse. “What?”
I want Tsukasa to stop talking. I don’t want to hear anymore but I have to. “Fujio knows you like him. He’s known all along. But Fujio also knows you’ll never confess to him because you know he doesn’t like you back. That’s why he keeps you here with him unlike the other girls who have confessed and then got rejected” Tsukasa explains
I’m not to sure how to feel about this. I look over toward Fujio. He’s with his girlfriend further away. It looks like she’s arguing with him but he’s only smiling. I watch him reach over and he grabs her waist. Instantly she stops and her cheeks flush red. Or I think they do. I can’t really see far away and I don’t want to wear my glasses. You know anxiety and stuff. Seeing the world clear just doesn’t help and I think the 480-720-pixel resolution that is my eyesight really helps with calming my nerves. But right now it feels like I can see everything clearly. Fujio’s lovestruck look, his girlfriend’s shy smile. I can see it all. I wish I couldn’t. “He… Knows?”
“I won’t tell him that I told you. But yeah he does know. That’s why he’s always been trying to set you up with someone else because Fujio thinks you don’t deserve him”
I frown and look away from the two lovebirds. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Tsukasa scoffs. “Oh please, we all know how much of a shitty boyfriend Fujio would be. I’m his best friend, I know. Fujio is to friendly and you’re still healing…” Tsukasa tells me “But okay, let’s say all that with that motherfucker from Shutoku didn’t happen. Being with him would make you so fucking insecure. He’s talking to new girls every day. He’s so fucking affectionate with everyone, you’d be wondering if he was cheating every other day”
Tsukasa was right. I knew he was. I thought about this before. Fujio wouldn’t be a good boyfriend. If there was ever a day that he maybe did like me back, it would be painful being with him. But still, I was still so fucking in love with him. I hated myself for it. “I know” I mutter quietly “I just can’t get over him”
Tsukasa next to me sighs and he rests a hand on my shoulder, lightly squeezing. “Try talking to Sachio more. I know him, we all do. Sachio’s nice. I’m telling you to use Sachio to get over that idiot over there but… Maybe you should try looking for other guys. You’re not gonna get over Fujio without actually looking” He tells me
He was right. Ugh fuck. Maybe I should talk to Sachio.
Why not?
❝Don’t wanna let go so I let go❞
Today was one of the rare days I was wearing my glasses. Fujio insisted on some bonding time with resulted in Sachio Ueda, Yuken Odajima, Tsukasa and Fujio’s girlfriend and me going to the movies. Now Fujio and I were waiting outside the bathrooms on the bench, waiting for all of them. I had sat next to Sachio during the movie, sharing popcorn with him. Fujio told he didn’t tell Sachio that I know he likes me. I guess now that I do know, things are pretty clear. I don’t know why I haven’t noticed it before. Maybe it was because I was too focused on Fujio. “Why does he like me?” I ask Fujio “I’m not pretty or like… Smart. There isn’t really any redeeming quality about me”
Fujio is fiddling with the movie tickets, his and his girlfriend’s. He looks at me, giving me a weird look. “You don’t think you’re pretty?”
I push my glasses up my nose and shake my head. “No. I’m not. I mean come on Fujio, look at me” I tell him
I guess I’ve always been pretty insecure about myself growing up. Especially when middle school started. My parents and relatives have always told me I’m pretty, backstabbing cousins and aunts say things to me out of apparent jealously. I pretended to think I was pretty when I was at home. I don’t think I’d ever be able to tell my mother how I actually felt about myself when she was always so proud of the way I looked, that I was so pretty. I think it would break her if I told her I hated myself— that I hated my face, my body, my own skin. I could never tell her. It was with my friends I could really spill out all my feelings. “Yeah I am” Fujio says “You’re not ugly”
I roll my eyes. “Uh-huh”
Fujio nudges me in the ribs. “I mean it. You’re definitely not ugly”
He leans over and brings his hand up. He’s so so close to me right now, I can feel his breath, see every pore and blemish on his skin— he’s still so beautiful. Fujio pulls my glasses off my face. I have told him many times not to do that. Taking my glasses off for me always felt so unnecessarily sexual. I didn’t tell Fujio it was like that though so he still continued doing it whenever I wore them anyways. “You’re very pretty, that’s one of the reasons Sachio likes you. But Sachio aside, you’re not at all ugly. You’re pretty” Fujio tells me and his other hand brushes a piece of my hair behind my ear “I’d never be friends with an ugly person”
My cheeks are no doubt red. But I play it off by punching his arm. “Fuck off” I mutter “Let me wallow in my misery in peace”
Fujio laughs softly. I want to kiss him so bad. “You are stupid though” he says
I hit him again and suppress the urge to kiss him. Fujio isn’t mine so I can’t kiss him.
❝will our eyes ever meet each others again?❞
I often wonder what kind of a person I would have been if I never met Fujio, if I hadn’t fallen in love with him. It sounds like a nightmare. I can’t imagine my life without Fujio. Maybe I’m just that much in love with him. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t. Sometimes I wish I was in love with Sachio instead. But now, sometimes has turned into an almost every day wishing as I watch Fujio and his girlfriend play around in the park while I sit alone on the bench. It’s 12:30 am. I should be going home. I’m not even allowed to be staying out this late. But I haven’t gotten any calls from my mom, maybe she’s already asleep. I say and lean back into the bench. There is something painful watching the person you love fall in love and be in love with someone else. Even more painful watching them receive it back. “Hey” Sachio sits down next to me
I look at him and smile. After the movies Yuken insisted on going to get some stuff because he hadn’t smoked in so long. Stuff meaning weed and next to me Sachio is smoking some as well, the spliff between his fingers as he leans back against the bench next to me. Yuken and Tsukasa are off to the side talking quietly amongst themselves while smoking and Fujio’s still with his girlfriend, pushing her on the swings. “You feeling okay?” Sachio asks me, taking a drag before slowly exhaling “I heard about what happened with the guy”
Sachio has always been the kind of guy everyone went to when they had some kind of problem. He was nice and gave really good advice. “Yeah… I mean… It’s taking a lot longer than I expected for things to get better” I say quietly
I started taking a lot of painkillers after my breakup, not just alcohol. Thankfully Fujio seemed to catch on and stopped before things could get serious but I still feel like absolute shit during random times of the day. “Well you can’t expect to get better overnight. Your relationship was 9 months… That’s a long time. So you can take your time getting better too” Sachio says
I turn my attention to his lips, watching them wrap around the spliff and slowly exhale. Sachio sees and grins. That’s kinda hot. “Wanna try?” He asks
I stare for a moment at the drug wrapped in brown paper. “I don’t know how”
Sachio’s red-rimmed eyes are saying so much but so little at the same time. I don’t know what he’s thinking. But whatever he is thinking is making him hesitant to do whatever he wants to do next. It’s a short moment before he speaks again. “Come closer” he says
I obey without thinking, the sides of our thighs pressing together. Sachio takes my glasses off my face. Haha fuck. He brings the spliff up to his lips and then pauses, still looking a little hesitant. “Inhale okay” he says before taking a drag
Sachio leans over and I don’t move. He takes my chin between his thumb and forefinger. He leans in closer, closer, closer. I can see his pore, the blemish, the moles, I can see all his skin up close. I think he’s going to kiss me but Sachio hasn’t closed his eyes. I realize he hasn’t exhaled yet so I have an idea of what he’s doing. Sachio’s lips press to mine but not to kiss. Well kind of. He exhales smoke into my mouth and I inhale. His lips feel soft. It feels nice. Sachio pulls away not too long after but I can still feel his lips on mine. I exhale, coughing a little bit. My throat burns but it’s not as bad as I thought it’d be. “Didn’t know you knew how to do that” Sachio says with a little laugh
My face is probably red right now. “Uh… I saw Odajima teach a girl how some weeks ago” I mutter
Sachio laughs. “Of course you did” he says
He’s smiling hard. I wonder why he he likes me. I wish he didn’t. Sachio shows me how to properly smoke after that. He doesn’t let me smoke to much though. It’s not too bad but he says he knew I probably didn’t each much so I shouldn’t else I’d feel nauseous. It feels weird being high. I’ve drank but smoking was a new territory for me. I feel a little lazy. But not the bad kind. This doesn’t feel too bad. I have a feeling I’ll get an earful from Fujio later, he’s been giving me looks. Fujio doesn’t smoke, Tsukasa does. Tsukasa gets scolded by Fujio on a daily basis when he comes back smelling like weed. I probably won’t do this again. I look at Sachio who’s already looking at me. Maybe it’s the weed that is making me lose lipped but the next words leave my mouth like vomit. “Why do you like me?” I ask and regret it immediately
Sachio smiles. “Why? Do I need an exact reason?” He asks
Something twists in my chest. It hurts. I don’t want him to like me. Not because I like Fujio, but because I don’t deserve to be liked by someone as nice as him. I’m a horrible person. “You deserve someone better,” I tell him “I’m not fishing for compliments here but I’m not exactly the most extraordinary”
Sachio sighs. The spliff is finished and now all we’re left with is uncomfortable questions. Thank god I’m high or I probably would have ran into the middle of the street and got myself hit by a bus on purpose. “I don’t care if you’re not anything extraordinary” He tells me shaking his head “I like you and you don’t get to decide who I deserve… That’s for me to decide”
I want to cry. I want to so badly feel better again or maybe at least get over Fujio. “But I… I’m not okay. I probably won’t be for a while. And no matter how hard I try I… I don’t want you to wait for me forever Sachio. What if I can’t ever fall in love again?” I tell him, almost whispering at the end
Sachio turns his entire body and is facing me. “I don’t mind waiting” He says with a smile “But me and my feelings aside, you can take as long as you want to feel better. It doesn’t matter who’s waiting for you. Me or Fujio or anyone. You need to feel better for yourself”
I fumble with my hands while staring right into his eyes. Does being high make you emotional? I don’t know. But fuck I felt like crying. “How do I know if I’m better… It feels like I never will”
Sachio is smiling so softly at me. It makes my heart hurt. His hand comes up and he takes a stand of my hair between his fingers. “Your hair. Maybe when your hair is back to how it used to be is when you’ll be better” He tells me
It’s 1 am. I should be at home. But here I am, with Sachio— the boy that loves me the way I wished Fujio loved me. I wish I loved him back. There are so many things I want to ask Sachio right now but I don’t. How do you get over someone who was never yours, to begin with? Who do you blame when you’ve broken your own heart? I don’t say anything but Sachio keeps talking. “I’m not forcing you to love—like me back… Right now I’m just telling you to take your time and maybe love yourself first” He says
Stop loving him goes unsaid but I know he wanted to say it. At that moment in Sachio’s eyes I see something of myself. He looks at me the same way I look at Fujio. It hurts. I wonder if this hurts him as much as it hurts me. But here’s the thing, I could get over Fujio and maybe I could even one day love Sachio back. But I’d never be able to forget the feeling of hurt nor the thought that I may only be loving Sachio back because I don’t want him to feel the same way I feel right now. I look toward Fujio who’s wrapping his girlfriend up in his arms and kissing her forehead. It feels like pieces of glass are tearing into my heart.
Had someone told me being in with would be so painful I would have never fallen for Fujio in the first place. I look at Sachio and feel almost a little better.
Does he wish I get over Fujio?
Does he pray at night for me to love him back?
I’m not sure I want to know. Maybe my problem is that I love Fujio way more than I love myself. Maybe the day I start loving myself again will be the day I get over Fujio. Sachio’s hand comes up and he brushes a strand of my hair behind my ear.
It’s 1:35 am, I’m supposed to be at home sleeping but instead here I am; high in front of a boy that doesn’t love me back and sitting next to one that does. I feel ungrateful and cruel.
I hope I never break Sachio's heart like I broke my own.
So You Wouldn't Get Married?
Jasper x reader ~ So you wouldn't get married?
Summary:
You we're sitting with The Cullens + Bella, your sister (You're adopted), at lunch time. And the topic of marriage came up and Jasper was a little displeased with your answer.
It was slowly becoming normal for you and your sister Bella to sit together at the Cullen's table during lunch. You've slowly been building a relationship with each and every one of them. Alice as always is the sweetest so it was no surprise that the two of you are friends. Your relationship with Rosalie was instant. Which was surprising because she basically hates your sister Bella and just about everyone else.
You don't know why though. Edward he was always kind to you, You could always talk to him and not feel uncomfortable. Emmett to say the least is fun to fight with, It's a very entertaining friendship. Now Jasper.. Your relationship with him you can tell it is not going to be on the lines of friendship. If anything that is Your Lover, Your Man, and Your protector. But none of that has been said out loud for all anyone could tell that was your homie.
You and Bella have been going to Forks High for about 4 weeks now. You both were immediately captivated by The Cullen's. Or precisely her Edward and You Jasper. Jasper was very quiet and reserved. It didn't help that you were the same but that all changes when you get comfortable with whoever the person is. With Jasper it didn't seem like it would change.
Everyone found him weird and strange. But you found him mesmerizing and a little… Addicting. You find it strange that from the first time you've laid your eyes on Jasper Hale, You've never been able to take them off of him. He's always on your mind and if he's not the first thing on your mind he's in the back of your head but best believe he is there. If you didn't have it like that there was no way you would be able to get anything in your life done.
"So y/n and Bella my parents are getting married this friday and I was wondering if you guys would come, Oh and the rest of you are invited as well!" Jessica said standing next to Bella with a fake smile on her face. I never liked her. I feel she only talks to us because the Cullen's talk to us and they showed interest in us and not her.
"I- I don't know Jess, we might be going to visit our mom this Friday." Bella said, sending Jessica a small sympathetic smile.
"What about you y/n?" Jessica turned to ask you. Annoyed that she asked you when the question was already answered for you by Bella.
"Didn't you just hear Bella answer you? We're going to go visit our mom on friday. And plus even if I was available I wouldn't go. I don't do weddings." I replied, turning my attention back to the window taking a bite of my cucumber sticks I chopped up this morning. After those words fell out of your mouth you felt eyes on you.
And you knew exactly who it was.
She scoffed, turning her fake smile into a real one looking towards the Cullen's. "What about you guys? Please can you guys come? It would mean everything to me." She asked once again.
"We have a camping trip on Friday, I'm sorry." Alice replied, smiling back at Jessica.
"Can't you just reschedule? You guys go camping every week!" Jessica practically yelled out at Alice.
This brought you out of your trance and made you glance at the rest of the Cullen's. Bella was sitting in front of you and Edward was on the left of her. Alice was on the right of her. Emmett was on the right of Edward. Rosalie was on the left of you and Jasper on your right. You two always found each other sitting next to each other no matter where you sat.
"Unfortunately we can't." Rosalie replied in a firm voice. That basically said shut the hell up and walk away before I make you. Shooting her and an ice cold stare Jessica walked away mumbling something under her breath that made you raise an eyebrow.
"What was that?" You said loud enough for her to hear you making Jessica walk away a little faster.
Her actions made Emmett laugh as he wrapped his arms around Rosalie as she glared at Jessica's retreating form.
Alice looked sympathetic. Meanwhile Edward looked like he was having a conversation with himself but he had a sly smile on his face. And Bella was just playing with her found as she voiced earlier not really having an appetite for anything.
"So what do you mean by ya don't do weddings?" You hear a southern voice beside you. Turning your head to look at Jasper golden eyes. You felt yourself wanting to melt from just his gaze.
"I mean basically what's the point? Half the people who get married get divorced like 3 Years later. They just leave the marriage with less money, heartbreak and trust issues. And that all comes free with life so why would I ever go through with it?" You answered.
While Bella was nodding in agreement Edward shot his stare at her in confusion as a frown soon settled on his face.
Jasper now too had a slight frown on his face.
"What about soulmates?" Alice asked, smiling a genuine smile at you.
"I love the concept of soulmates, I believe that everyone has one in some form. Some one more than others. But me? Nah I don't think I do." You replied with a shrug.
"And why's that?" Jasper asked, turning your attention back to him. His southern accent just did something to you fuck the accent. His voice.
"Because I'm too much to handle. I don't believe that I have the personality to be someone's soulmate. I'm not the nicest if anything I'm mean. I don't like alot of people. I tend to shut down and Block out the people I love when things get hard for me. I have attachment issues which also makes it hard for me to love. It's either I wanna be by your side 25/8 or I don't wanna be in your presence at all like I want to love you from a distance. When I love someone I love hard. The other person tends to never be able to handle it. Which is also why I don't do weddings." You said, Looking back outside noticing the raindrops on the windows.
"So you wouldn't get married?" Jasper said with a frown on his face as if it pained him. Edward was intensely staring at Jasper for some reason. And everyone else was watching the dispute between me and Jas.
"I mean if I were too it would have to be in Switzerland and most can't afford sooo." You laughed it off biting into another cucumber stick.
"And if he could afford?" Jasper questions with a sly smirk on his face tilting his head a little.
Looking at his golden eyes you squint just a little as if to tell him you're suspicious of him and his questions.
"If he could afford it would be difficult for him to get me on the plane. Because who knows if I'll even like him like that." You replied with a little flirt in your voice.
"I'll tell ya what doll if you end up not getting on the plane with him, just know that my jet will be waiting for you. And I'll be waiting for you at the end of the corridor." Jasper winked.
Flabbergasted by what I just heard and saw I didn't have time to reply as the bell rang. I reached down to grab my bag looking up to try to respond to Jasper; I realized that he was gone.
"What the fuck was that" I breathe out in a small whisper.
Jasper Cullen just flirted with me.
hey bae! u already know that i was the one made the ask abt laura so here's an ask while i'm not anon
so i have mentioned before on most of my socials that i am currently in uni and my field of study is entertainment and arts management and that i chose my focus in media arts (so i am studying more with film, tv, social media) and i have been studying laura and z star and how laura and z star are both shady as fuck and here is what i gathered (which i basically me pasting what ii said in my anon ask to u):
she is def brainwashing the triplets and using them to her advantage. her management skills are EXTREMELY unprofessional.
what even irks me is that they even said that they never wanted to move to la ever in their lives and that they prefer the east coast and boston way more but laura made them move to la to live with her when they were 17. they were literally MINORS and she was like in her late 40s/early 50s making them live with her. plus, she rarely lets them go back to visit their family and when they do she limits them to 1 week max. AND, she made them come to her birthday trip and made them not go back home to celebrate their mom's birthday which is either the day before laura's birthday.
she even went crazier by putting their initials on her FAMILY christmas tree when even many people know that a manager-client relationship should be PRIMARILY PROFESSIONAL
she even told them to cut people out of their lives. tbh i feel she was the reason that the guys and alahna don't speak anymore because even at their peak moment of popularity they were still best friends with alahna and they didn't have a manager at the time. then when they signed to z star and laura, alahna was out of the picture all of a sudden. laura has def made the guys cut alahna out of their lives so that she can try and make madi their main best friend (i'm always team alahna).
the triplets need to cut ties with her and either find a better manager or manage themselves. i also feel that they should live only in boston because la isn't instantly gonna make you famous. they should be located back in boston so that they can also be around their family and friends back home.
agree with every fibre of my being babes! i feel like she’s also manipulating them in way that they don’t even know about.
now here’s what i don’t understand… they have almost 6 million subscribers on youtube but don’t go to many events. I feel like the only one they’ve been to is a red carpet premiere of the scream movie ages ago. most influencers go to multiple events one after another but they’ve barely been to any. is that because laura doesn’t want them to go and live the life of an influencer and meet others like them?
going back to the xmas tree scenario. like who in their right mind thinks that putting initials of your CLIENTS on a FAMILY XMAS TREE is right?! like, girl they’re not your children! they’re your clients who you are using and manipulating! are you for real?!
now to compare the two tours. the first tour they did back in jan/feb of this year, fans were allowed to do whatever poses they liked with the boys. for the versus tour, fans had to choose from four poses provided on a posterboard! how does that make any sense? like you had the freedom to do what you wanted on the first tour but not for the second? who came up with idea? was it laura? the world may never know!
but basically, moral of the story is that laura is a bad manager and is not helping them reach their goals and potential
I will also talk about Tyler because he's also not normal about stuff 🫠
Right from the start you get these signs he's protective to a detrimental level lol
Tumblr media
(BTW Aidlyn scene cuz I'm not normal about them ❤️ The way he literally wraps his whole body in front of her sent me lmao. Mans got his leg around her and everything 🤡)
He's pretty much like this with Taylor in all their scenes. In the Sorrel House he puts his arm in front of her when they see the phantom (that he does not think is real, considering his reaction).
He also has a tendency to drag Taylor away from situations with out asking for her opinion on it 🫠 He just kinda assumes she will want to go with him. Like when he drags her out of the house after saying the phantom was just a prank.
Sir. PLEASE. Kinda possessive of you-
Tumblr media
I don't think Red did this on purpose because like. She hasnt really brought up their culture/heritage or anything in the story so far lmao (I'm crying). But idk like just this behavior reminds me a lot of the guys in my family 🙃 I think Latino boys get kind of socialized to be more aggressive and protective of their families at their own expense. He definitely seems like the kind of brother to impose a curfew- He has control issues like. We all see it right? He's a control freak.
Obviously his dad dying has a lot to do with this. His mother took it extremely hard, so then Tyler "stepped up" to take care of both his mom AND his sister, he's been parentified since a very young age (he doesn't look older than 10 imo). I think he feels a need to "be the man of the house" so to speak. He genuinely does not seem to have any hard feelings towards his mom even tho she...you know, fucked up. if any of you know the "latino boys are mama boys" cliche, but.
yeah.
(I do think Taylor has more mom issues because she kinda resents how Tyler has been parentified and she's allowed herself to be angry at their mom for leaving them to fend for themselves)
Tumblr media
Sidenote: It looks like his family is very isolated. Like, its strange that nobody came to help Marianna after Ethan died. This isn't always the case but usually Latinos have large families (my mom's family had to push together eight beds so all the cousins could sleep in one room lol) WHICH probably means Tyler's branch of the family is, so far, the first and only to have immigrated to the US. He's probably already a second or third generation tho, his mom has only one surname and he and his sister never seem to speak Spanish, so I don't think they learned it (probably some basics). I don't imagine they've ever been to Mexico except MAYBE when they were very young (its kinda rare to visit...since...it's so hard to get out of there in the first place...🫠 I dont think my parents have been to Venezuela in more than 20 years...but also Venezuela is in way worse condition, so...)
But yeah like. His protectiveness of Taylor is something that actively works against her and something she dislikes. She always looks upset when he drags her out of a situation or tells her what to do. She just wants to help :(
BABYYYYY 🥲
Tumblr media
Ofc she never says anything because for most of her life Tyler has put himself in a position of authority and is her caretaker. It's hard to speak up to somebody when they constantly say "I'm doing this for your own good, for your own safety, for-" Whatever. Taylor always believes Tyler does everything for her own best interests, so... even when she doesn't feel good about something, she'll still listen to him. It's a veryyyyyy slippery slope that can quickly become toxic, if it isn't already. Because besides being her brother, he's put himself as her parent figure as well.
He does the thing. You know. Where parentified kids try to overcorrect so they kind of coddle their own children and don't let them do anything because they're scared to death something is gonna happen to them 💀
I don't really know what the point of this was I just wanted to talk about how possessive Tyler can be and how unhealthy his attachment style is 😭 If I write Tyler and Logan angst tho just know it's gonna involve Tyler being overprotective and Logan being Not Cool TM about it 🫠
Pen Pals
a/n: you guys know how Andrew Garfield’s parents are British but he was born in L.A. but he still has a British accent that’s not extremely British with a little bit of an American twinge? that’s what the reader sounds like. also, i go by the grades of everyone in the books so Cho and the reader are a year older than the golden trio and a year younger than the twins.
Blog Details | Let’s take a trip
Fred Weasley x Black!fem!reader (Ravenclaw)
warning(s): british slander bc im a raging american (RED WHITE AND BLUE MF THESE COLORS DON’T RUN BITCH lmfao please believe me when i say im joking), cursing, mention of drugs and alcohol use, tooth rotting fluff
word count: 3.3k
Tumblr media
.
.
.
“Are you writing to that British boy again?” I hear from over my shoulder.
“Yes, and have you heard of personal space?” We erupt in giggles as I push her away.
I close my notebook and move from my desk to my bed. The foot of my mattress is barricaded with boxes. I look around and see my childhood home become empty and filled with boxes and buckets. The walls that were once painted with polaroids of my friends and family from over the years is now back to its basic color of brown that was painted when I was born. My desk is no longer covered with knick-knacks and clutter. The room is just empty. I’m happy that my mom got promoted so my dad gets to go back to his hometown, but it’s going to be hard leaving a place I’ve spent ¾ of my life in.
My mom is a Magizoologist. She came to the United States 20 years ago for a business trip. My dad is a Dragonologist. Their paths crossed when she came to help take a look at a sick Dragon. He showed him how their sanction work and over time I guess they became close because 3 years later I was born.
We used to go back and forth between Illinois and England for about 4 and ½ years before mom decided to just move here. I guess the distance was just a little too much for them, so she decided to move here and now we’re moving back.
I lay down on the bed and stare at the ceiling. It’s scattered with glow in the dark stars that I begged for when I was 7 and ten years later, here they still stick. I’ve been asking dad for four years to take them down. He always said he’d get around to it.
The air feels dry, and my throat is scratchy. I’m trying my best to hold my tears at bay. I love England. It’s a second home to me. Whenever I’m out for summer break I go to my grandparents’ house in Norwich. This is different though. I’m going to be living there now. The British accent I had when I was younger has faded overtime to an American-British hybrid. I’ll surely be made fun of for it.
Maya lays down next to me. We’ve been best friends since the 3rd grade. Just the two of us against the world. Now I have to go through the rest of university without her.
“Maybe it won’t be bad. The worst part is going to be eating their food.” Her jab pulls a smile to the corner of my lips.
“I’ve heard the food at Hogwarts is actually pretty good.”
“Not possibly better than Ilvermony.”
“Never!” I dramatize the word with a gasp. Really selling it as if saying Hogwarts food is better than Ilvermony is a federal offense.
The dust settles and a silence washes over us. It’s a comfortable silence. Soaking in our last moments together. I know it’s not forever. I get to come back here on holiday, and she can use the floo network to visit me, but it won’t be the same. This is the person who has a key to my house because she’s considered family. The same person who that brings me an extra banana nut muffin every day before school just because she knows it’ll bring a smile to my face. I won’t get that anymore.
“What time are you guys leaving tomorrow?” Her head turns towards me, but I keep my eyes trained on the popcorn ceiling in fear that the tears I’ve been holding back will give me away.
“Early. I think 6. We’re meeting the realtor with the keys at 7, so we need to make sure that all of our stuff gets transported this in one fell swoop since we’re apperating there and apparently mom came up with a spell to have our stuff apperate to the new house.”
“Hm. Have you told British boy that you’re got accepted into Hogwarts?”
“Fred doesn’t even know what I look like. Let alone that I got accepted to the same school as him.”
“HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE?” I slap my hand over her mouth and shush her.
“Bitch, shut the fuck up. My parents are right down the hall and don’t know I have a pen pal. They said it was dangerous because people pretend to be someone they’re not, but what the hell?”
She pushes my hand off of her mouth and sits up. Her back meets my headboard and she straight ahead at the door.
“Do you know what he looks like?”
I nod my head yes before rolling off of the bed. I feel to the last page of my journal and find and find a polaroid of him and his brother George from when they went to something called The Quidditch World Cup. I do a quick look over before making my way back to the bed and offering my hand to Maya. She looks at the picture and you can almost see her eyes bulging out of their sockets.
“He has a twin brother?”
“No it’s just someone he met at school.” I resist the temptation to roll my eyes at her comment, but the attitude goes completely over her head.
“Is he single?”
“Maya!” I exclaim with my jaw dropped. “What? You can have a twin and I can’t?”
“Oh hush. You said yourself that you don’t even date white boys.”
“That was before I saw this one. Besides, he’s a ginger so he’s exempt from that statement.”
“I’m really going to miss you Maya.” We make eye contact for the first time in a while and her eyes soften.
“I’m gonna miss you too Angel.”
She looks down at her watch and tells me that it’s fifteen minutes to ten meaning it’s almost curfew. We share one last tearful goodbye as she walks out of my bedroom door for the last time.
.          .          .
Sure enough, at 5:45 my dad woke me up and told me it was time to get ready to leave. I had taken one last look around my room and made my way downstairs to meet my mother so we could all leave. Right as the clock struck 6, my parents let me grab the powder and be the first to see our new home.
I stood in the foyer and tried to convince myself that it isn’t the best house I’ve ever seen. It’s got a cottage core vibe going on, on the outside. It’s cozy, but big enough for all of us. I wanted so badly not to like it. We went to the backyard and there’s a small river filled with a family of ducks. To the right there’s something that looks like a shack, but bigger. My parents then explained to me it’s my own apartment. That’s when the smile broke across my face. I was finally getting my own space.
The house tour didn’t last long due to the tight schedule we are on. I ended up just waving my wand and letting the magic unpack my stuff as we were right back in the fireplace. Why? Because tomorrow is the first day of school and I have not done any school shopping. The stuff on the list differs a little bit from the shopping list we had for Ilvermony so dad thought it best to wait until we got here. We had to go to Diagon Alley anyway for everyone to open up a bank account.
Now, I’m standing in Madam Malkin’s getting measured for everything. Once I’ve been basically poked and prodded all over my body with clothes pins, I stare out the window and watch everything and everyone pass by. As if someone had played a slow potion button, I see a whole family of red heads walk down the cobblestone and sure enough one of them is Fred. I snap my head down and try to cover my face with my hair. I don’t know why I did that. Once again, he has no idea what I look like.
“All done. You can step down now.” I look over to Madam Malkin and grab my uniform and robe out of her hands. I thank her and rush out the door. Thankfully my parents are done with their list too so we decide to go home.
.          .          .
The next 18 hours go by quick. I didn’t get a chance to really enjoy my apartment or decorate it due to packing up my trunk since we once again left early in the morning for transportation.
The train ride was painfully boring. No one told me how long it is from England to Scotland. I sat with some mundane people whose names I don’t remember. They were also half asleep and exchanged pleasantries only out of politeness. We bought some stuff off of the trolley and then went back to our own worlds.
At one point it became a little suffocating and I needed to pee so I got up and started walking through the cars when I heard a “Have you heard from her yet, Fred,”. I had stopped before becoming visible to their compartment. He told them no and that he was a little worried. That’s when I remembered that Maya distracted me so I never got to finish the letter.
At the moment, I’m standing at the front of the line of 1st years because I’m new as well but I’m older so I get to get sorted first. My hood is up and I’m looking at the ground, suddenly interested in my shoes. Professor McGonagall informs everyone that I’m a new student from the American wizarding school and I feel my face heat up, knowing the amount of comments I’m about to get from everyone.
She calls my name and I carefully walk up the stairs. At this point my hood is still up so no one has gotten a clear view of my face. I want to do a big reveal of sorts. I sit down and let the hood slide from off of my head. There’s gasps from all across the hall. Some whistles from a few guys. Whispers from a few girls. A handful of people conveyed nonchalant expressions which I greatly appreciate over being fawned over. My eyes gravitate toward the Gryffindor table and I catch Fred already looking at me. His friends are nudging him with an elbow while also looking at me. I guess that answers the question of if he told his friends about me or not. I can’t decipher how he feels, but the adoration on his face calms my nerves enough.
I break our eye contact to look back down at the floor as not to fall off of the stool. I make haste to the Ravenclaw table. I greet everybody and they instantly start asking questions. I laugh as I can’t understand them all at once, but it’s funny hearing them squabble like seagulls. A hand is placed over mine and I look in the direction of where it came from. A beautiful Asian girl gives me a small smile.
“Hi y/n, my name is Cho.” I return the smile and tell her that it’s nice to meet her. A silence washes over the table. I become befuddled and look around to distinguish if I did or said something wrong.
“I thought you were American?” Someone says from the other side of the table. I don’t catch sight of who said it, but respond, nonetheless.
“I am. Well, I’m half. My mom is American and my dad is British. I was born in Manchester but was raised in America.”
An understanding nod is shared amongst the table in hearing vicinity and the conversation ceases as someone else is sorted into Ravenclaw.
.          .
After dinner the prefects give the first years a quick tour of the castle and show them to their houses. Cho snuck me with the other 5th years. I’m thankful as I far from want to be touring the castle with a bunch of children. Besides, I have a map of the school and I’ve created a spell that can bewitch the map to help me find my classes.
We make our way up the many staircases and are faced with a large door with an Eagle head as the knocker.
“The only way to enter the common room is by answering a riddle. If you get it wrong, then you have to stand here until someone else comes and says the correct answer or until someone from the inside opens the door.” She says to me. I nod my head in understanding.
“Wanna try it?” Another Ravenclaw asks me. A male. I believe his name is Talbott. I nod my head again and step closer to the door.
“When young, I am sweet in the sun. When middle-aged, I make you gay. When old, I am valued more than ever. What am I?” The voice bellows as the Eagle moves its beak. It shakes my core a little bit.
I look around at the other Ravenclaws. Some with quizzical brows. Some with a knowing look. Others just looking and awaiting my answer. The answer would have caught me up if it weren’t for the last clue; “When old, I am more valued than ever.”
“Wine.” There’s a click sound as if unlocking a lock, and the door slowly opens. Smalls cheers are shared as we walk in.
I’m stuck at the entrance of the threshold inside by the sight in front of me. It’s probably the most gorgeous room I’ve ever seen. The ceiling is coved and gives the illusion of a clear night sky. Stars litter the ceiling and give off the effect of actual twinkling. A blue velvet couch sits in front of a fire, with matching chairs on either side. What really catches my attention is the enormous statue of Rowena Ravenclaw in front of a bookcase. We never had anything like this at Ilvermony. Our emblem was a serpent and we would just have those displayed in various parts of the common room. I watch as everyone goes to various parts of the room while some go behind the bookcase. Cho grabs my hand and also brings me behind the staircase. She shows me that behind this staircase is where the dorms and bathrooms are. I follow her up the staircase and to a dorm. The rooms inferior to the common room but not any less gorgeous. The beds align with the wall as each dorm is in the shape of a tower.
“I see you got the middle bed. Seems fitting as you’re new.” No malice in her tone, though I can see in some way it might have seemed like it.
I sit on the bed and exhale. Truly exhale. This whole journey has been happening too fast. Now that I’m sorted into a house, everything else seems easy. I went over my schedule with Cho and we have all the same classes except Defense Against The Dark Arts. I guess I’ll survive one class without her.
“Well come on lazy bones.” A different girls says to me. Anastasia I believe.
“What?” I sit back up and ask with pure curiosity.
“It’s time to get ready for the party.”
“What party?”
.          .
The beginning of the year party. The party where everybody gets blacked out and regrets it in the morning since we start classes at 8 am.
I believe I heard someone earlier yell about flower. A Hufflepuff I believe. I had put on the sluttiest thing I owned and made my way down to the party with everyone else. None of us wear heels, as not to be caught by the caretaker.
The party is in full swing when we open the door the ballroom. The lights are dimmed, but the strobes of light are pungent. We barely make it to the drink table without bumping into everyone on the way. At the drink table is a tall red head with another tall read head which I can only assume is me about to be dealing with the consequences of my own actions.
“Excuse us,” Cho exclaims at the two while trying to push our way to the punch bowl. They look our way and go to move but freeze when they set their eyes on me.
“Y/n?” Fred asks/yells.
“In the flesh,” I yell back.
His smile reaches his eyes as he pulls me in a hug. My face in brought into an awkward place where it’s not quite his chest but not quite his stomach either. I wrap my arms around his middle and hug him back. He smells like cinnamon. I welcome in the scent as we hug for a few more seconds. I can only imagine what Cho is thinking right now.
We pull back at the same time and he begins to speak again. I can’t really hear him over the noise of the ballroom. I look in the direction of the entrance of the room and point to it. He nods his head and we walk towards it, hand in hand.
The door closes behind us but we still stood with our hands intwined.
“Pen pals for 4 years and you didn’t tell me you were transferring.” He exclaims while keeping his voice down.
“I wanted to surprise you.” I say sheepishly.
“Considered me surprised.” He smiled no longer reaches his cheeks but its more somber.
We hear footsteps coming from the far end of the corridor. He pulls me and we start running. I don’t know where we’re going but I trust him. A giggle threatens to out my mouth as we are going up the maze of stairs.
After what feel like forever, we make it to the floor that the Ravenclaw tower is on. I see that Gryffindor is also on this floor. In the middle of both is a spiral staircase. Great. More stairs. He leads us up to a room that looks like a classroom with multiple astronomy tools and an openness to the outside.
“Welcome to the Astronomy classroom.” I unknowingly let go of his hand as I look around in amazement. There’s a celestial sphere with all the constellations on it. A fancy telescope by the balcony. It’s quite literally the Ravenclaw common room in classroom form.
“Gods, this place is gorgeous.” I walk onto the balcony and stare up at the sky. All the stars twinkle and the moon is full.
“As are you.” I turn my body around and face him. He walks up next to me without breaking eye contact.
“Not a disappointment, am I?”
“Only a little. I expect more of an American accent.” I laugh at this before looking down at my shoes.
“You and everyone else. It’s there a little bit with certain words and phrases.”
.          .
I sit on the ledge and we talk for a bit. Not much to tell considering I know almost everything about him and vice versa. We talk about school and the people here which eventually leads to the topic of dating.
“Anyone here you fancy yet?”
“You could say that.” I look into his eyes and see if he’s able to read in between the lines.
He leans in and I hear my breath hitch. My fingers grip the railing. His eyes jump to my lips and back to my eyes.
“Who is it?” We both know.
“He’s in Gryffindor. Tall red head with freckles. His brothers are also in Gryffindor.” We inch closer.
“I might know him. What’s his name?” 3 inches apart.
“Ron.” He rolls his eyes at the answer with a chuckle.
“Shut up,” and then he kissed me.
(looks at the time, midnight) perfect time for posting!
silly little animatic for a silly little au i will yap about under the cut. but basically, the shadows are humans, and gold is the illegitimate son of mr. golden, so he has to deal with lots of shit. also i KNOW the audio is not synced but IM NOT editing that again. i refuse
ok i will probably not make an actual comic or anything for the au so ill just tell you all about it rn even though im eepy and thus will probably forget things. also i didnt read through All Of That a second time so im sorry if theres mistakes or incomprenhensible sentences
uhhh the idea came to me bc i wanted to make human versions of shadows, but i thought itd be boring if all the shadows were just twins of their human with the exact same trauma. dont get me wrong its very interesting to see two characters deal with the same issues very differently but when its ALL of the pairs it can get boring (to ME, this is just my own feelings). so i went hey, famous people seem to never stop cheating, what if we did that instead? and boom gold illegitimate son was born. also when i say mr. golden i dont mean golden's dad, i mean golden and joy's grandpa. I KNOW. GROSS. thats kinda the point. it also wasn't like, a one night stand that went wrong, this man had a whole ass second family. technically not cheating though bc his wife was already dead, but still not good.
so. gold was just living his silly little normal life with his mom and semi-absent father (they would say he was just very busy with work and travelled abroad and all that, which is the exact same excuse he'd give golden when he want visit gold)(also gold's mom was very much aware of the whole thing from the start) when suddenly him and his mom got into a car accident. gold got scars and a broken arm, while his mom took most of the blow. her upper body was mostly okay bc gold was able to see the car coming from her side and instinctively pulled his mom away, but he could only move her upper body to the side, and her lower back and legs took the blow. so, with his mom hospitalized, the authorities obviously asked him to call his dad to come over. so he did, and mr. golden showed up. and obviously the news immediatly caught on to this and made it a scandal. the local rich old guy with a company that has always had a brand of helping society with their innovations turned out to have a second family, and a son who is around his grandchildren's age. how could u NOT report that. anyways, gold's mom needs to be hospitalized for AT LEAST a couple of months, so gold moves in with his dad. and of course, has to face his dad's "official" family.
now, gold had known that he was "illegitimate" for a while now. it was kind of impossible to ignore with golden's popularity. but he had never really processed it fully, it was sort of an unspoken thing that everyone in the household was aware everyone else knew, but no one wanted to mention it. as if by doing so it would suddenly become real and break the illusion of their "perfect" little family. but now he has to deal with the hard truth (and new trauma due to the car crash! yay!). he decides to try and "compensate" the heavy blow that his dad's reputation took for his, uh, existance, and decided to start helping around the company. he immediatly starts taking way too much work, because he feels guilty and wants to feel validated by his dad, to feel like he's also his "real" family, that he deserves to be called his son. and also because he never got that much attention from him anyways. he's now deathly afraid of losing his family, after almost losing his mom, so he tries his absolute best to be everything his dad wants and do everything he says. he was always kind of a pushover, because his dad was always emotionally distant and bareley showed up, but he had his mom around to compensate, but now that he feels he could lose her at any moment, that flaw skyrocketed in intensity.
that attitude also translates with the rest of the family, especially the cousins: golden, joy and jay. golden DOES NOT trust gold. he's convinced that gold started working in the company because he only wants the money, or the fame, or maybe the whole company (since gold would technically be before golden in the heritage, itd be much easier). but that's mostly his own trauma regarding feeling used for money by almost everyone he loves acting up. golden also dislikes gold bc he reminds him of the things he hates about himself, bending over backwards just to get affection from the old fart. soo yeah golden has issues and gold kind of embodies all of them (like a shadow. get it. haha.)
joy tries VERY hard to be nice to gold and seem accepting and like she's okay with all of this but she has very conflicting feelings. she always kind of idealized her grandpa, so knowing that he actually sucks is kind of driving her crazy (she is unaware of how much golden is fucked up bc honestly shes got fucked up in similar ways, having to appeal to her parents for affection and working her ass off as a maid basically, so it just seems normal). also, she feels iffy about gold, she doesn't distrust him like golden, she truly believes gold is just a normal kid, but she's VERY frustrated about the fact that he started working for the company just like that. she always wanted to work alongside her grandpa, she thought the company's ideals were lovely, but she was always shut off because she's a girl. so she explored her passion for music, which was encouraged, but only as a hobby, while golden got to make a succesful career out of it with the help of the family. and now this random kid who had never had ANYTHING to do with the company is working for it and being taught everything she wanted to know. it's completely unfair and it makes her seethe. but she knows its not gold's fault, and she keeps excusing her family, so she just hides it and hides it and tries to pretend she's okay with all of this.
jay is the only person who seems to be ok with gold. she loves attention and she hates being bored, so a sudden family scandal that gives them tons of media attention and makes all of her posts blow up is literally perfect for her. and it's all thanks to gold! she doesn't find him especially interesting as a person, but everything surrounding him is. and hes a total pushover! so she gets to make him carry her stuff, do things for her and crack jokes at his expense all she wants. she also just finds is funny that he's technically her uncle. gold knows that she's taking advantage of him, but he doesn't mind that much, because she at least doesnt hate him like golden and joy seem to do. and sometimes she's not an asshole, sometimes she genuinly enjoys his presence. let's just say that the bar is in hell
also. if i did things right u will probably tell that gold is fat, especially in comparison to the cousins. and thaaats because the golden family is actually naturally fat, but grandpa encouraged them to be thin to "protect them from the media". golden and jay have quite unhealthy habits, while joy just eats healthy and exercises, which is why she's not stick thin. since gold was never meant to be in the public eye he was allowed to just exist so hes a normal kid who doesnt give a fuck. other design notes, the broken arm and scars represents gold's face markings and completely black hand. and i gave him glasses because everyone gives him glasses and i think thats awesome
also uhh he becomes friends with the villains (who are the student council)nbecause owynn wants to get that golden family clout. gold joins the council as an assistant because hey! being useful! he's good at that and it may earn him a friendship. there he meets cami and they immediately recognize that they're similar. always doing what someone asks, always so serious, always calm and efficient, working towards their goal, never taking up space. soo they spends more time together (also bc gold is her assistant) and start leaning on each other. they become close. they also like that they're so blunt with everyone and each other, it makes conversation easier for them. and also they have a crush on each other because of course they do im PREDICTABLE.
uhhh idk if i have anything left to say if u read all of that hi. i love you
you can tell me about your idea!!!
thank you so much 😭 it's kinda long sorry
SO i was listening to a song my sister like (Valerie, Amy Winehouse) and there's this line about ginger hair and it was just so specific ig it stuck with me? so im thinking man who do i know with red hair...DUH KUWABARA!!!
nearly every song i listen to gets assigned a character or ship or relationship of some sort idk why but yeah once i fixated on the hair i was able to expand on the rest of the song and a sort of idea settled in the back of my head about kuwameshi
we all know kuwabara is always the one getting left behind but what if while he's off doing his thing yusuke also feels that sense of loss? an absence even though it was his decision to up and leave. it makes no sense cos hey! you felt the need to go back to the demon realm bro but he cannot help how he feels left behind in some illogical sense. i made some notes 😤😤
centers round the time where yusuke goes back to makai after the whole sensui debacle and kuwabara is getting his education studying in prep for college (hell yeah boy !!) not sure if the timelines even match up like that but i literally dont care
i'm working under the canon divergence that keiko really did decide she's not gonna wait for urameshi like that but ofc she's still his bestie and he loves her sooooo much <3
so he's going back. he's a demon now so he feels drawn to the culture. it's a side of himself he's never known after feeling so othered ofc he's interested right?
i mean sure he grew up with other humans but almost everyone hated him/was scared of him ironically he was called a demon or monster or wtv
reactions like that are why he almost decided not to come back to life in the first place!! it wasn't a welcoming atmosphere and even his home didn't feel great cos his mom isn't exactly the mothering type
im all for deadbeat moms but the neglect will fuck a kid up. demon heritage or not
and he loves her and all but it's just all fucked up at home so he ended up wandering around a lot being mad about his shitty life and he likes fighting so that's what he did!
and obviously in makai this behavior isnt like. crazy or uncalled for
but yeah the only connections he's got to ningenkai is his mom, keiko (her parents by extension) and of course kuwabara; the only friends he managed to not scare off
anyway. you get it. so yusuke is back in makai and without his permission his mind keeps wandering to kuwabara who he hasn't seen in let's say. a year and some change? i'll decide later but A While
and like. last time he was in the demon world kuwa was WITH him yknow? like yeah the world was ending but it feels weird without him even if he is having a blast fighting with his new demon buddies and acquaintances
so he's a little distracted when he literally came here to fight he cant even focus on it
"how is college prep treating him? are the teachers there just as bad as middle school? did he make new human friends? a girlfriend?" basically he's spiraling over changes he might be missing out on this very moment
there's a bunch of talk in the song where the singer wonders if valerie dyed her hair if she's busy if she ever paid that fine if she sold her house if she got a man so that's where i got it lol
yusuke doesn't have to worry about kurama and hiei cos hey they're from here and have lived way longer and they actually do visit but who knows what typa shit could be happening to kuwa right now
ofc he can take care of himself he's really strong but yusuke can't help but remember that time he let kuwabara go when he shouldn't have and he almost died because he wasn't there and yeah. he's worried. sue him
so it's half worry half wistfulness and maybe some other secret third thing and when hiei and maybe kurama (depending on how the idea forms as i write) come to visit or maybe they're also participating wtv
he cant help but think well kuwabara could be here with us if he really WANTED to :/ he's got the jigen to down pat by now so...why hasn't he...
and those old but ever remaining insecurities resurface about how people don't wanna be around him they think he's a nuisance at best no good waste of time a trouble maker. keiko already dumped my sorry ass so who knows maybe kuwabara just...wisened up
hiei and kurama are like this bitch is back on his bullshit (affectionate)
they manage to weedle his worries out of him hiei ofc trying to act like he doesnt really care (he cares a lot) "you must not have much faith in kuwabara if you think he'd abandon you just from some time apart. and i thought HE was the oaf between the two of you"
kurama with his fox self is like "well yes hiei is right of course kazuma is too loyal to do something like that. but he is human...the only human of us now."
yusuke is like wth is that supposed to mean on the defensive even tho kurama is their friend and hasn't even said anything untrue and hiei narrows his eyes a bit maybe but is still acting like this doesn't really concern him
"i just mean that...from what i've learned about humans over the time i've spent with them...time feels different. we demons live such long lives that when faced with the human lifespan well...it can be laughable to some. that's why demons can be so callous about their lives."
yusuke just wants him to get to the point ofc "what i'm saying is we don't need a lot of contact with each other to keep relationships fresh and healthy but, kuwabara might be a little different. 3 years will do nothing to your bond but...i do worry about longer periods..."
and he seems to just trail off and it just gets quiet and a little sad and hiei isn't looking at them anymore
kurama starts again pretty cheerfully tho "well, don't worry! i'm planning on staying in the human world for quite some time once i'm done with this visit! i do have the company to take care of so i'll make sure to see kazuma all the time! i'll even send him a message from you if you want to say anything :)"
kurama has deliberately been using kuwa's first name knowing damn well urameshi doesn't even use it because this dude is not JUST a sweetie he's a fucking master manipulator. gaslight gatekeep bbg
yusuke is like okay yeah no new plan i'll just go see him now. no need for a middle man thanks anyway and then he's just gone. left the tournament early. like bruh that's what you came here for 😐
so yeah he's breaking into kuwa's house next thing you know and ofc he goes through the window not the door like a normal person and he just kinda stops short because he hasn't seen his friend in what feels like forever even though it's only been like a year or so but he just looks so different
and yeah a big part might be the hair he's never seen without that popadour, long soft copper coils, and he's somehow even bigger than when yusuke left him jesus when did he get so swole? when did he have time in between all those brainiac classes
yusuke knows he's bound to look a lil different too ofc i mean they weren't kids anymore really but like. when they hell did you go and grow up?
"next time i come back is this even gonna be your house anymore? will you still wanna hang out with dropout delinquent demon urameshi?" he gets so insecure in so little time
anyway kuwabara didn't sense him at first cos yusuke isn't a threat and he never really thought he'd be coming especially not yet but when he does notice
kuwabara just gets the biggest goofiest grin he's like urameshi you dog when the hell did you get back in town you're early!!
and yusuke is significantly eased by this reaction but now he feels stupid cos he up a left everything just to what? bother kuwabara while he studies to achieve his dreams? yusuke has got no human world aspirations like keiko had. like kurama has. like kuwabara.
and ofc kuwabara looks glad to see him but he wasn't desperate enough to just show up like yusuke had just done and he feels like a pathetic loser so he pouts
he's like yeah hey man just uh. checking in. and i should probably check out hah you seem busy with your books so im gonna scram and he tries to retreat through the window
and ofc kuwa is NOT letting him get away
and there's that desperation yusuke had selfishly wanted to see. kuwabara had just grabbed him without thinking even though he'd promised himself when urameshi left he wasn't gonna just sit around waiting for his life to start when he came back
he remembers when yusuke took him into that headlock and he wanted to succeed like he said he would that day
but still he's just thinking about urameshi all the time and it's awful. he always said he was gonna beat him some day but he just wanted to be near him. but all he sees is his back, even right now
part ii cos it's too many words!
PARTIES: @debauchfairy, @realmackross TIMING: A Saturday morning in early April SUMMARY: Mack meets Kiernan for their first brunch were they share mimosas and all the hot goss. WARNINGS: None!
Kieran didn’t have many friends. It had made sense when him and his mom had been, y’know, basically hiding from the whole world and moving every couple of months but even after somewhat settling here in this strange town, he wasn’t even really sure he knew how. Sure, people liked him - of course they did - but those were all fleeting connections and perhaps a few too many of them tainted with imposed spontaneity and bad decisions. Not that he needed friends, especially not human ones. It seemed like a hassle when it came to upkeep and fuck forbid he’d mingle with fae again.
Enter Mackenzie Ross. Undead, apparently, but a talented and stylish actress. She had taste so it had been no surprise when she walked into Covet Couture but the fact that she’d been immune to Kieran’s magic had been a fun discovery. Not that he cared, seeing as he was decked out with hooves and antlers. She was interesting, and gossipy, and after way too many weeks just talking about it they’d finally set up a lunch.
“Stunning, as always,” he greeted as she arrived, picking apart her wardrobe with a satisfied smile. So far they’d only talked when she dropped by the store and a few times online so Kieran was happy they were finally doing this. Closed off from people all those years, he’d at least had access to the internet which had included Mack’s work along with every tabloid article of her glamorous life, something he’d deeply longed for back then. “I already ordered mimosas.” Could she even get drunk? If only he could reveal that he knew her secret without coming clean about his own.
It was nice to have a friend Mack could sit down and gossip with. Though she wasn’t much of a gossip, until she had a few glasses of wine or champagne, the real treat was finally getting to spend some genuine friend time with Kieran. She had met him at his little boutique in town, and they had hit it off immediately. He had reminded her of home; a place Mackenzie was still trying to figure out how to let go of. And until she could fully trust herself to have this zombie stuff under control, a place she would sparsely visit. Plus, all the talk and tabloids about Brody didn’t help matters, and while they were dying down, she knew if she had shown her face in LA, all the talk would fire right back up again. She had, after all, murdered her fiance by accident, and there was never going to be any solace from that. At least not that she could ever see or feel she truly deserved.
As she stepped foot into the small cafe, Mack let her eyes scan over the patrons finally laying sight on Kieran – The best dressed boy in the entire establishment, “Uh, I could totes say the same for you! Is this new?” She looked over his outfit and was impressed. “Everytime I see you, I swear you just get classier and classier.” She smiled warmly as she took a seat across from him at the small table. “You’re a legend.” Though Mack wouldn’t really be able to taste it, she was an actress and could pretend to enjoy it with the best of them; especially if he had thought to take the time to order for them.
Kieran gave something of a humble shrug, not quite matching the pleased expression on his face as he picked off an imaginary piece of lint from the sleeve of his jacket. “Hmm, maybe,” he answered slyly, smile only widening as Mack continued with the compliments. “How am I supposed to keep my ego in check if you keep flattering me, Ross?” Kieran asked, fully unserious. As if even a miniscule part of him actually wanted to keep said ego in check, where the hell was the fun in that?
Leaning back with a content sigh as the mimosas arrived, right on time, Kieran trailed the departing waiter with his eyes before turning back to Mackenzie. “What do you think? Worth a shot? I’m pretty sure he was looking you over but it seemed very PG so maybe just a fan. Although the sneakers are giving me a bit too much ‘frat boy’.” Turning slightly in his chair for a second glance, Kieran then cocked his head at Mack. “Straight, poor or just bad fashion sense, thoughts?”
Mack watched Kieran shrug, shaking her head in return, “I’m going to keep complimenting my friend who knows style okay? It’s few and far between in this town. Most of these people prefer the just rolled out of bed look, which is okay, I guess, but it wouldn’t hurt to see more people take pride in themselves.” Of course, she couldn’t always talk. There had been plenty of times Mack had been seen around town in an oversized hoodie, a ball cap, and yoga pants. But even then, she somehow still looked more put together than some of the people in the town. “Besides, that cut looks good on you. Take the compliment, Kieran.” She laughed.
Seeing the waiter walk over with the mimosas, Mack couldn’t help, but look up at him and smile, but as soon as he was gone, she could hear Kieran’s comments, “Well first off, he is cute. Not my type, but definitely adorable. Second, I have a girlfriend, so you don’t have to worry about me trying to steal him away…” There was only one man who would ever fully have her heart now, and he was dead. “Plus, with that outfit and those shoes…Thinking Frat boy with just bad fashion sense. Though the apron kind of makes him cuter in a Tyler from Wednesday sort of way.” Mackenzie didn’t doubt there were hydes living in Wicked’s Rest. She just hadn’t seen one yet, unless…She looked the waiter over again as he served people, “I say we question him when he comes back to take our order. I don’t want to just go off of looks, because I’m already thinking you two would be supes cute together.”
Nodding along solemnly as Mack, justifiably, took shots at the general lack of upkeep in this town, Kieran found himself surveying the surrounding tables to confirm her facts. Sure, some of them had potential, an eye for color combination and a general aversion to graphic tees (he shuddered mildly at the thought) but it was just so obvious which table took the prize for best dressed and best looking. “Well, if you insist,” he sighed dramatically, flashing his teeth. Just one of the reasons he was fond of keeping Mackenzie around, endless supply of compliments that were actually based on knowledge and not just empty flattery. Not that Kieran wouldn’t also accept empty flattery.
Mack spared no detail in sharing her thoughts and Kieran mulled over each one, having to suppress a slight eye roll as she mentioned her relationship - seriously, so much wasted potential. “That reference means nothing to me but he is weirdly making that apron work, that we can agree on.” Whether or not Kieran was actually interested in more than simply discussing this stranger’s pros and cons with Mack remained to be seen. “Alright, don’t go writing a wedding speech yet, sweetheart. If I were to date anyone and that’s a big if, I don’t think café waiter would be the way to go.” Or a human for that matter.
“Some subtle questioning does sound fun, though.” Kieran picked up the menu, glancing over it as he sipped at the mimosa, enjoying the bubbling of the champagne on his tongue. “You ordering?” he asked casually, itching to know what exactly Mack would prefer to be eating that wasn’t exactly available on a brunch menu.
“I do insist. So there.” Mack playfully stuck her tongue out at Kieran. This had been a friendship she hadn’t expected to form with such ease. But the day she entered his shop, and they first spoke, it was like the Fashion Gods had spoken up and told the universe that this was meant to happen, and after a few more interactions online and at the boutique, here they were discussing whether the waiter would be a good match, “Are you kidding me? You haven’t seen Wednesday? Okay, we need to change that, like, asap! You’re coming over for a Wednesday marathon, and then you’ll see what I mean. But until then.” Mackenzie pulled out her phone and pulled up a picture of Tyler from the show, “See? Now if he had the curls, we’d be in business.” She put her phone away, “But that whole messy thing is actually working.”
Mack took a sip of her mimosa tasting nothing as she listened to Kieran continue on, “Oh come on. I could totally see you running your boutique, and coming over here for lunch where your littles are running around in their miniature aprons following Daddy around excited to see fashion Daddy walk through the door.” A grin spread across her face as she looked down at the menu sitting in front of her, “And of course I’m ordering. This is a brunch date right?” She glared at him playfully, before scanning the menu, perking up at the spicy options available.
Kieran rolled his eyes fondly as she scolded him - he couldn’t exactly spend his nights on Netflix binges when there was so much else to do and see. Not to mention that he’d already spent too much of his life doing exactly that, substituting actual interactions since they’d been off limits and too dangerous. But he couldn’t exactly say no to Mack considering the fervor in which she pitched this idea. As long as she’d allow him to bring drinks. “Fine. If you find a way to make it into a drinking game, I’m in. No way am I watching teenagers fall in love or whatever while sober.” Kieran peered at the phone, giving a soft hum of agreement. It was a pretty accurate reference.
As Mack went into vivid detail of the little fantasy, Kieran’s face showed an impressive mix of amusement and distaste, eyebrows raising at the mention of children. “Oh, you clearly need to get to know me better if you think I could be trusted to raise children,” he argued, needing a good drink of the mimosa to wash down the mere thought of that. No fucking thank you. Waving off her glare, he turned in his chair to catch the waiter’s eye, holding up the menu to indicate that they were ready. “How am I to know if you’re on some insane actress diet or not?” Blood or flesh would definitely score as an insane diet, though maybe just on par with feeding on literal emotions.
“Hi,” Kieran greeted smoothly as the waiter shuffled up, shooting him a disarming smile and gauging the reaction. Placing his order, he waited patiently for Mackenzie to do the same, catching a glimpse at the waiter’s name tag. “Say, Benjamin, settle a debate for us, would you? In the new Baywatch movie, who is objectively hotter, Efron or Alexandra Daddario?”
Mack was ecstatic when Kieran agreed to join her for a Wednesday binge. It was one of her favorite shows, despite the main character looking oddly like Nora. She shuddered at the thought, but the actress was so good at her role, that Mack was easily able to look past the eerie similarities, “Yes! And if that’s the only way you’ll watch with me, then fine. But you’re supplying the alcohol, and it has to include Fireball. I’m not made of money here.” Actually she was, but that's besides the point.
“Oh come on, Fashion Daddy. Which is totally your new name now by the way. I hope you like it, cause that’s all I’m referring to you from now on! You’d totally make a great dad! Plus, those kids would have so much fashion in their blood they’d bleed glitter and rhinestones.” She took another sip of her mimosa, barely getting a hint of bubbles on her deadened tongue. “Because I am currently not an actress. Does Wicked’s Rest look like it lends itself to the entertainment industry. Goo Girl is a thing of the past. Thank God.”
Mackenzie watched as the waiter came back over, ready to grill him about his fashion sense to see if he and her friend would be a perfect match. Giving one last glimpse to the menu, Mack ordered the spiciest thing available adding some guacamole for good measure living up to that Hollywood stereotype.
As the waiter took down her order, he listened to the question at hand, while Mack easily shot Kieran a look of amusement. Once he was finished, he looked back up, “Uh, I’m gonna have to go with…” He chewed on his bottom lip for a minute, before looking back between the pair, “Gonna have to go with my man, Efron. Have you seen his quads, but more so his biceps? Gym goals. Like Alexandra is hot, and I’d totally go out with that, but dude. To spend an afternoon getting all the tips and tricks from Efron, would be golden, especially with this huge weightlifting comp, I’m trying to get into. I may not look like it yet, but these washboard abs are coming along. I’ll go get this order placed for you guys. Solid question though. Hope that helped.” He slapped Kieran on the back firmly, before walking off.
Mackenzie stifled a laugh looking between Kieran and the waiter. She definitely hadn’t seen that one coming, “Well, Fashion Daddy. Maybe you won’t have to worry about Cafe Daddy, since you know, he’s totally into weightlifting and hot chicks.” Her voice mimicked his.
“Fireball?” Kieran questioned with a grimace, followed by a soft shake of his head. “I’ll bring it but I’m not touching that shit. Also, remind me, how much was that bracelet of yours?” He nodded towards her wrist with a knowing expression, as if he wasn’t properly decked out with expensive accessories himself. In his defense, many of them had been gracious gifts, given with various amounts of conscious willingness. “Woah, I don’t look anywhere old enough to deserve that nickname, alright? Respect the age restrictions of the Daddy title,” he argued with a laugh, fully deflecting from the conversation of children now.
Clicking his tongue, Kieran cocked his head. “Aw, come on. You’ll always be an actress at heart. Can’t run away from your true self.” Wasn’t that just the truth.
The question had been a silly one, testing the waters and mostly gauging whether or not their waiter would be appalled at the idea of picking a man as the hotter choice, objectively or not. Kieran had not expected the way his soul begged to leave his body as Benjamin expanded oh so eloquently on his answer. Stifling a groan as the man slapped his back, Kieran let his eyes close in pure disappointment, mostly because he’d had to listen to that. “Wow,” he breathed, straightening in his seat.
Downing the rest of his mimosa as Mackenzie’s dream of a happy little family shattered, Kieran shuddered dramatically at her eerie impression. “Yeah, that’s a solid pass. Maybe I’ll check in after a few months though, see how those washboard abs are coming along. He might do if he just… doesn’t do a lot of talking.”
Mackenzie knew Fireball was gross. Every time she mentioned it, she often got the same reaction, but until someone made something much hotter to satiate her dead taste buds, the zombie was stuck drinking it, if she wanted a slight buzz. That was just the cards she had been dealt. The bracelet and the actress at heart comment were something of a different tale, and she quickly looked away as if she hadn’t heard him.
Unfortunately, Kieran’s cards were looking a little different at the moment. He would forever be Fashion Daddy. That much was settled. But it no longer was the waiter who Mack saw as someone being a viable option for her sassy and extremely fashionable friend. It was still hilarious though, especially the shoulder slap, “Oh come on. You don’t want to hear him talk all day about how good his body looks and what happened at the gym with his bros? I’m sure he’s got some extra spicy tales. And then, just think, you could give him a nice shoulder massage and feel those firm deltoids.” Mackenzie hated herself for knowing as much as she did about what gym rats focused on. “But I do have one question…based on how hard that back slap was…is he actually as strong as he lets on? Cause looked on the scrawny side to me.” She finished the mimosa.
The complete lack of response didn’t go unnoticed - talented actress or not, there was no faking that she hadn’t heard him. Nevertheless, Kieran wasn’t here to dig into topics that were clearly off limits, that sounded grueling and emotional. And she’d dropped the whole ‘literal dad’ discussion without a second thought so they seemed to be on the same, unspoken wave length. Fuck those topics, onto bigger and better things.
Not Benjamin, though. “Yeah, no. There’s only room for one conceited individual in the bedroom and that position is already filled.” Kieran gestured to himself with a flourish before giving a sigh, glancing once more over his shoulder to the man whose looks were wasted on an absolutely tragic personality. “I do love some nice shoulders, though,” he added wistfully, only partially joking. He did not appreciate anything enough to go to the lengths of a shoulder massage - seriously, if anyone was getting spoiled, it was obvious who should be the first choice.
Laughing at her question, Kieran made a show of thinking it over. “He’s definitely leaning more towards Efron in Hairspray,” he concluded. “But it was still an unnecessarily straight slap.” Holding up his empty glass to catch the attention of any waiter that wasn’t Brojamin, Kieran shamelessly ordered another round for the pair of them, ready to settle down for a continued discussion about things with no real emotional relevance whatsover. And wasn’t that really the perfect thing to go along with a nice brunch?
My Supernatural DR backstory
So, I made a post asking if anyone wanted to see this, and I made it at like 2am so only one person responded, this one's for you @lazerdash
So, as I said, my backstory is a little different to other people's (at least I think so) because I didn't script that I come from a family of hunters or that I even know that the supernatural exists before I first shift - I also obviously didn’t have the option of scripting that I’m a relation of the Winchesters because I'm shifting for Dean, so that would just be gross.
I was born in 1982 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to my parents Stella and John. I also have a little sister, Robin, who is 2 years younger than me Also, Robin! - I've scripted her into the majority of my DRs because honestly I can't imagine not being a big sister - but I didn't want to script in family from this reality. I love her <3.
My childhood was kind of rough - my dad was very abusive and my mom got a divorce and full custody of us when I was around 7(?) So she was a single parent and my dad very kindly did not pay ANY child support. So my mom had to work multiple jobs to provide for us, which basically meant that Robin and I were really really close throughout our childhood as we were home alone together a lot <3.
So life went on as normal, until I was starting my second year of college out of state, and my mom died... so yeah. Went home for the funeral, took time off school, long story short I moved back to Manitowoc and now manage a small florist's in town. Oh and also there was a big argument between me and Robin so we're not talking atm
So, how do I get involved with the boys? Basically, when I was a kid my mom sent Robin and I to Sunday school, and I made friends with a girl called Sophie Carlton. We quickly became best friends (We were practically inseparable) and this friendship resurfaced when I came back from college after my mom's death. (In my DR she’s the same age as my sister!)
So yeah, Sophie is the first victim in 01x03, and I first shift after she has died, like right when Sam and Dean get into town. Basically I had promised her brother that I would help out a bit around the house as her father was obviously really depressed, cause his daughter just died, so when Sam and Dean are visiting Sophie's house I meet them. and Dean and I kinda hit it off (despite the circumstances) I get on well with Sam and I'm really curious as to what they're doing more or less, so I become involved with the whole plot with Andrea and Lukas and the lake and everything.
After that I kind of decide that I have nothing keeping me in Wisconsin and ask the boys if I can come along with them. I’ve scripted that they say yes which I honestly think is a bit ooc of them but we’ll see how it plays out when I get there I guess
So yeah, that's it basically?? I think so anyway! Thank you for reading if you got this far:) this is all scripted btw, I haven't shifted yet!
