please please please please PLEASE I am BEGGING people:
stop using terms meant for abusive material of actual children when you referring to content of fictional characters. You are implying that fictional characters are as much victims as the actual children who are abused when CSEM is made of them.
You are not helping victims as much as you might think you are by doing this. Knock it off.
in honour of the new life series and also the Incredible binge i just did of cleo's last life series-- here's a really old piece i did back when last life ended. cleo and her rivers....
one thing i’ve noticed in those polls or posts about fandom misogyny and widespread favoritism of male characters in fans of fictional media is that people will always blame their consistent gravitation towards men on the media itself? which can be reasonable depending on the media but i think maybe as a response to that you should invest more in media that does have well written and fleshed out female characters. i promise there are some out there. and also a lot of the time it just feels false something something for a male character people will fill in the holes in the story and flesh him out where the media doesn’t while for the female character it’s crickets. like idk i feel there should be at least a tad more self awareness with this kind of thing? might just be me though.
I hope Anthony starts planning LESS going into the rest of s2, tbh. I hope we get less plot, I hope we get more stupid things he put in because they were funny, and I hope the story starts to come after the comedy. I think he was really smart in setting up anchors as a plot point again, because it allows the story to become episodic in new environments- which is where I think the cast thrive. I hope he relaxes into doing dumb nonsense and remembers to trust his improv.
I don’t want s2 to keep trying to live up to the second half of s1- or trying hard to please the people invested in the story. I want it to please a group of friends who want to make each other laugh. Those are my thoughts, anyways.
Concept: alternate version of Silver Snow where Ferdinand becomes the lord by default, recognizes his and his father’s failures and mistakes and is deeply ashamed of them—however, he comes to find that both the Church and his fellow students are absolutely willing to follow him, and he’s absolutely flabbergasted. He knows now that a Crest does not a leader make—but what other value is to be found in him? Byleth shows him that while yes, he does possess leadership skills and charisma, the true reason that they follow him is that, at heart, Ferdinand is simply a good man—and while that seems small and foolish in the face of Edelgard’s ambition and cunning, it is a far steadier thing, and what the people truly need and respect.
Both empowered and humbled, Ferdinand leads the charge alongside Byleth to defeat Edelgard, defends the people of the Kingdom and the Alliance, and take back the Empire with his strong sense of morality and his love for the Adrestian people
Mary Linton was manipulative towards Arthur. That’s just a very clear conclusion you can get from playing the game. She could be a nice person to everyone else, to her brother and father, and still she would be manipulative towards Arthur. Like how’s that controversial???
