man, i have an idea for a jason revival fic/valgrace fic that i rlly wanna do, but I already have like… 3 valgrace wips, one of them being a different revival fic. also i dont have much of a plan for the whole fic, just some small ideas.

basically, the premise is that due to the prophecies n shit being messed up in toa, peoples’s fates are messed up as well.

so, after toa, the fates are trying to fix the fates of those whose fates were messed up by the whole ordeal. one of them was jason. so, they bring him back (but don’t bother to tell him… or anyone else, really).

the only problem? the classic issue of bringing someone back. jason comes back wrong. instead of being normal human jason, he can shift into a wolf, and a big one at that (my personal headcanon is that he’s like torso/shoulder height on an average, fully grown adult. ye, a big boi). also, he comes back in wolf form, and can’t shift back. he’s vaguely aware of who he is, but not much beyond that. he’s also vaguely aware of the smells of people he knows and trusts (but not what they look like or specifically why they’re important to him… or that he should somehow inform them that he is jason grace, back from the dead and now a wolf).

so basically, leo is sent on some quest (mayhaps a solo quest? or he’s separated from his friends for a time) and during it, he ends up having to fight vicious beasts under the control of some monsters. they decide to start out with their most vicious, which is wolf jason. leo doesn’t want to fight an innocent creature so he thinks fast and he’s able to escape with both himself and the wolf. once they’re safe, he takes off the device controlling wolf jason, and the two end up becoming friends. jason doesn’t realize leo is his best friend, but he gets from his smell that leo is important to him and that he’d do anything to keep him safe, which is just what he decides to do. leo doesn’t know this wolf is jason (literally why would he?), but he does think the wolf reminds him a lot of jason (with blue eyes and a scar on his muzzle that reminds him of the scar on jason’s lip) so he decides to call him “jay” and keeps him around as a much needed companion.

that’s pretty much the bulk of what i wanted to write. didn’t have much else planned besides that… expect for a vague idea for how the reveal/shift back happens. basically, the idea i had was somehow, maybe towards the end of the quest, there’s a fight by a cliff. also, maybe others are there, for more people to bant with and added tension. in the fight, leo nearly gets knocked off and is hanging on by just a hand. wolf jason goes to save him, but he doesn’t have arms or hands or thumbs to grabs him with, so he just like, bites his arm and starts to drag him up that way. however, as he’s pulling him up, the ground crumbles under them and they both fall. and jason, he cares about and loves leo. he would do anything to keep him safe. so, just in time, he manages to shift back out of sheer desperation to save leo, and safely floats them to the ground. I’d imagine leo would be very shocked (his dead best friend is now alive and as the wolf he’d been traveling with but now he’s very alive). idk what happens after that… probably meeting with some very shocked friends, bc if they were there with people, those guys just saw leo and a wolf fall to their death but suddenly float back as leo with a somehow alive jason and no wolf.

idk the only other ideas i had were just shenanigans at camp with wolf shifter jason. i imagine he’s not that scary as a wolf, just like… a big, dumb dog. a big, dumb dog that only bites if you hurt leo. leo does really mind jason being all protective, he loves any form of positive attention. he just thrives off of it. jason would definitely weaponize his sad puppy dog eyes to get leo to take a break. maybe we can apply some werewolf rules and say he like has to be in wolf form during the full moon? and leo definitely messes with him, like pretending to throw a ball but actually not, which jason gives him the silent treatment for a day after. also, jason being clean in human form doesn’t transfer over to wolf form, so leo has to give him bathes. and wolf jason hates the bathes and is very vocal about it. leo also hates the bathes because jason is very stubborn and makes it much harder than it needs to be. he ends up getting more clean than jason by the end. idk, the idea of serious jason being a silly, dramatic, goofy wolf strikes joy. i also imagine that, when he sees leo lying down, if he’s in wolf form that he just goes over to him and lays his whole body down on leo’s, much to leo’s dismay. but leo allows it bc he spoils wolf jason. also no clue how valgrace get together… just that it happens at some point. also, idk i imagine that he loves human jason and wolf jason in different ways. human jason is his bf but wolf jason is just his silly lil guy.

tbh i don't really do angsty endings bc i want the ending to be happy lol

like i said, all my fics have a happy ending but i think lucky is probably the most like extra-fluffy happy ending. and then tell me something i don't know is probably the most cathartic happy ending purely for the dramatic 100k+ buildup lol.

at this point im not sure i will ever come back to i wanna tell you (but i don't know how) … it's an owl house fic that i started during season 3 but the direction i had planned doesn't feel very relevant anymore now that the show is over

i think dialogue bc i really enjoy writing it and it typically comes most easily to me! i would consider humor a strength too bc i have a very good time being silly

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

big one is speed. I'm just very slow 😔 the writing process is fairly painstaking for me, and it takes a lot of time and effort even to write things that are pretty short and simple! agonies

for the writing itself, i consider myself a pretty simple writer with a pretty simple writing style—which works well for me most of the time, especially since I tend to lean toward humor. but sometimes it feels like a weakness when i read a story with really rich, beautiful prose and i wish i could emulate that a bit more! when i'm trying for something with a more serious tone it takes a lot more effort for me to convey the appropriate level of depth I'm going for and i worry about going overboard and coming off as overwrought or cheesy sounding lol. along the same vein i feel sometimes that my characterization is a bit two-dimensional and i find myself wishing i could add more levels and depth to the characters. there's just a lot i try to balance in my writing and i don't feel like im quite striking that balance every time. which is fine because no one's perfect ofc! i hope this is all stuff i can learn to be better at.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i generally prefer keeping everything in english since im writing in english. it just feels a bit smoother for the POV if there would be no distinction for the character, and i don't want people to be pulled out of the story if they need to google something

Hey it’s a4a anon coming again! The 10 part series was one of the few blessings of 2022 and I keep going back to it so thank you again 🥰. I know you mentioned having a few prompts and the only one I can remember was Eddie bottoming. And I just had so many scenarios in my head. Like would he hate it the first time and it’s something they don’t talk about but then he starts to warm up to the idea of trying it again but is too embarrassed to bring it up? Does he feel like since Garcia is an alpha, he’ll of course want to top and he drives himself crazy thinking that when Garcia is happy with how things are? Does he have a stupid “I have to give to him too” mentality that Garcia snaps him out of. Like how does it happen?? And how do they feel?

Also, as an aside, I’d love to hear Garcia’s pov from one of the parts. Like possibly their first time or part 10. I promise I’m not trying to be pushy. If you never answer this ask that’s fine. Just sending it with the hope that it inspires. 💛

Anon, please keep sending prompts and i will NEVER take it as pushy. i really really really appreciate it and i really promise i keep opening people's prompts as drafts and writing a little bit when i'm stuck on the Big Wip. i LOVE the idea of writing garcia's pov for their first time. i actually keep thinking about putting a4a on ao3, but then petering out because i think i'd more fully want to write out what happened in the beginning, and i think writing out garcia's pov would help figure out how i would tell it from eddie's pov.

it's just that i've been having the absolute worst time writing porn lately. i don't know what's going on with me, but i can't seem to shake anything loose. but i promise i did start writing bottom eddie, just slowly, and a little at a time.

i think my plan was actually to write eddie startled by the idea, and then brashly trying to cover up the fact that he was startled, and then actually talking himself into it by accident, and then he sort of dirty talks garcia through it--teasing him and goading him until garcia gives it to him for real and eddie loves it. and it becomes another thing they do, another thing he bosses garcia through.

well, actually, let me show you what i have so far--it's NOT a lot. i enjoyed myself doing the bantery setup and then my Porn Block hit.

obvs this is set after the events of A4A so eddie's a little more settled about how he and danny respond to each other.

"Okay," Eddie says. His heart is pounding, almost out of his chest. "So lets fucking do it then."

Danny looks genuinely startled, mouth falling open in a perfect o for a beat. Then, "Eddie, I was joking. Me and Isiah were fucking around, just being shitheads. I wasn't—"

"So you don't wanna," Eddie says, a little more brash than he really feels. "You don't wanna give it to me? Aight, if that's what you're sayin'. I got you, kid."

"Eddie," Danny says plaintively, sitting up straight on the couch. "I don't know what we're doing right now. Are you fucking with me?"

Abruptly, Eddie gets a handle on it in his mind. "Nah, man," Eddie says, smirking. "I said I understand—you don't think you could. It's a lotta work, sweetheart. You ain't ready. Maybe gotta do more squats and shit, work up those thigh muscles—"

"Oh fuck you, my quads are—"

"—since you just lay there and say oh Eddie please do me—"

"—perfect. Oh, fuck you. You're serious? You want it? You really want me to give it to you?"

"What have I been saying? Am I just talking to myself?" Eddie says, and then laughs when Garcia grabs his hand and yanks him up to his feet. "Look at you with the manhandling."

"You're gonna wish you were nice to me later," Danny says, in that real tough guy voice Eddie loves so much. He can't stop himself, and he reels Danny in, kisses him real close and sloppy and heated. Fucks Danny's mouth open with his tongue, gets a hand around the back of his neck and tightens it until Danny goes loose and liquid and pliant.  

When Eddie releases him, Danny's swaying on his feet, eyes dark and unfocused.  He blinks dazedly at Eddie when Eddie shoves at him.

"C'mon," Eddie says. "Ain't you gonna show me a good time or what?"  

They go to Danny's bedroom. The last time Eddie called it that, Danny said, "Mine, huh? When's the last time I slept in it alone?" and Eddie had retorted, "the day I admit to living in Buffalo is the day they put me in the ground, pardna."  He'd made them go to his place in yonkers the next two weekends off from teevee—Danny hadn't seemed to notice, so Eddie's still not exactly sure he won that argument. 

Eddie backs Danny towards the bed, familiar and soothing. Danny lets it happen until about right when his knees are are about to bang into the mattress, and then scoots, twisting Eddie 'til Eddie's the one landing on his ass among the pillows. 

"Cute," Eddie says, grinning. "You use that move on broads?"

"Just you," Danny says and goes for Eddie's jeans.

At the end of RvB Season 9, Church let's go of Tex by forgetting her, erasing her from existence. But what if that wasn't what Tex wanted? What if instead, Tex clung onto existence out of sheer spite, driven by her hatred for The Director and her desire to see him dead? And what will happen when she wakes up on Chorus, The Director dead, Church missing, and the Reds and Blues wary of her? Who will she become-- is she truly destined to fail over and over again? Or, released from the shackles of what Church and The Director view her as, can she be something more?

Okay so technically this fic is published, just unfinished! But I plan on rewriting it from the beginning. It's your typical "What if x character lived" AU, but it's one I've wanted to do for a very long time. I do so love Agent Texas from RvB, she has been a blorbo in my head for over a decade now and I plan on cranking out this fic during NaNoWriMo before moving on to some One Piece fics!

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

I really wanna do an AU where the Revolutionary Army finds Robin at a young age, but I just cannot wrap my head around the logistics. I know it's an AU, so I can do whatever I want, but since we know so little about the early days of the Revolutionary Army and Dragon, I've been putting it off in my head because I worry about canon being so widely different from my own headcanon ;-;

But I do think it's a cool concept, and one I haven't been able to find on AO3 (Although if anyone has and has recs, send them my way!). The moment I saw Robin's backstory I started a joke with my partner about Dragon being her biodad, since she and Luffy basically share a same braincell, and I think it'd be fun to write a story where Dragon essentially becomes like a father to Robin, and she can, in turn, be a big sis to Sabo.

I don't currently have any dialogue in my active WIP, which is basically Robin sneaking onto the Going Merry and reflecting on Alabasta and the life she's been forced to keep living so uh... Have this paragraph I wrote that has stuck out in my head since I wrote it:

Staring up at the showerhead, she sighed and ran a hand over her face, eyes closing. How exhausting it was, living. Dying was much simpler. You didn’t have to worry about the future, or what it would hold. All you had to do was have faith in the ones who remained.

if you ever wanna write a sequel for your fic just know i'd read the shit out of it

if ur on about this fic problem is it that would require writing proper sex, and the thing that has put me in the fattest writing slump for my current big wip is the smut scenes so i just dunno if i got it in me but the 2 options of the sequel that swim round in my head currently are (starting with good ending in bad (as in like sad/fucked-up/ooft/idk whatever as in this isn't good in the moral sense)). under cut cause is a lil bit nsfw x

simple: christian texts back, they all facetime, max and daniel have sex on the balcony and christian watches and directs them, tells them what to do etc. flirty texting from there, suggestive, more photos sent to christian, some old, some recent, videos passed between the two, christian's are of him jerking off to the both of them. one v successful weekend for max, and daniel is also at the track and they finally all get their act together and have a threesome. its dirty, its lewd, a whole tonne of power imbalance going on etc etc. (and then for even moreeeee it kinda becomes a throuple, but not a throuple cause christian goes home to geri and the kids, and max and daniel go home together, but in the sense of they all have a lot of sex together and daniel is v happy because he gets to finally re-enact some of the scenes in christian's office he's thought a lot about :)) )

kinda not for the maxiel otp shippers (me) (but i love SAD fic, i love morally questionable fic, i love fic that plays with blurred lines and the bad decisions humans can make) (contains cheating and dub-con (daniel getting tricked into things, stuff going on behind his back): christian and max have still been doing their dirty business behind daniel's back (not as regularly, only really when max drives a fucking fantastic race and daniel isn't there to quell max's needs and wants), max does love daniel that relationship is real, but since daniel's been back at rbr, max and christian have been devising a way to get daniel into bed with the both of them. hence why max suggested sending the photo. it was a pillow-talk-plan between max and christian and max knows daniel wont say no to anything he asks. moral quandary for daniel though when he works it all out - hurt by what max is doing/has done, but also has jerked off multiple times to the idea of max and christian so he does like the idea of it. also dilemma of can't say no to christian either cause that's his boss, that's the person he wants to offer him a full-time seat....blurredddd lines, daniel agrees, likes it, loves it, but ends up causing a bit of tension in max and daniel's relationship (like daniel starts coming to nearly all the races, cause one time he was sat at home and watched christian and max in parc ferme hugging and holding each other tight and he lost it a lil bit cause thats his max) etc etc anyway its about daniel wanting what he wants (max, christian, max & christian, a full time seat at red bull, to keep his relationship alive), and so forsaking his own morals along the way....

The end of 2022 is fast approaching, I wanna take the final day of this year to say thank you for the quality content throughout this year. Your fics, your art, the different community aus such as Train of Thought 1+2 or Snacktime and the community in general really helped making this year so much better for me, giving me comfort or just made me feel better. I often reread older fics or going back through old asks where we chat about older aus and still enjoy them a lot. And everytime you post new art it's always a big joy. Really loving your artstyle! Keep it up!

I'm really looking forward to all the wonderful content we're getting next year, like the completion of HFBE or I won't leave you behind or all the other WIPs still in the making.

I know I'm rarely active with my account but I have participated a lot, even providing a few prompts anonymously. I'm still getting nervous about giving positivity outside of anonymity but I'm trying to work on it. Also a big shoutout to the community here as well! In regards to what I'm currently working on, I have a couple of WIPs I'm bouncing between! I'm planning on returning to the regular updating schedule this upcoming week! And I also have my incomplete work I Have a Prom-Posal that is my longest running incomplete work that I swear I'm going to finish soon just trust me.

Other upcoming works I have include my 2022 Big Bang fic that will be released sometime this August when posting starts, so keep an eye out then! I really want to write something for mermay, but have been having so much trouble trying to think of something for it ;-; I'm thinking something with Mer-Andrew and Neil who is some sort of half-breed that can be human or a mer, but he's never gone in the ocean before because of...reasons. And then he ends up stranded in the ocean and Mer-Andrew has to teach him how life under the sea works or something.

6 - Favorite title you’ve used

Oooooooooo. This is kind of cheating but bc I don’t rlly have a favourite on its own, I’ll say I’m really happy with the kinda. Themed series titles I managed to use? My ‘Fruitbowl’ series for nsfw trans week had all fruit-themed titles (I’ll say my favourite was ‘Blackberry Jam’ just for the vibes) and for tsukkiyama week I used all lyrics from ‘Come True’ by khai dreams !! I had fun making them all match :DD

15 - What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

The one that’s partly posted is ‘keep me intact’ - started for Karasuno Big Bang but it won’t be finished for a WHILE. The whole thing is planned out I just want to get a bit more written before I start posting again, so that I don’t end up with too many long hiatuses.

My BIG PROJECT that I’m very excited about and already has 77k words in a doc despite not being technically started yet is my NITW au. Provisional title: Hold On To Anything. i am DETERMINED to pull this off (the current plan is a chapter a week, starting in the new year. Pray for me)

27 - What do you listen to while writing?

I actually have a NITW playlist I use sometimes bc it’s good ambience!! I tend to get distracted easily by music so if I’m gonna listen to something it’s usually video game background music.

30 - Biggest surprise while writing this year?

I can write smut !! Like kinda good smut !! Having never posted any before and being kinda terrified of it, I wrote the 32.6k of the ‘Fruitbowl’ series in like. Three weeks ?? It was bonkers but I’m honestly really pleased with all of it - especially the first and last works. I may never have the guts again but hey !! I can do it !! :D

Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?

I don't know if I'd rewrite it completely, but my first chaptered dmcl fic, probably mostly. The worst part is that it's still ongoing but I don't have the willpower to redo 33k words. I'll probably do minor tweaks or something at some point, but there's a lot of it I'm unhappy with. It's a CF AU and I still want to go with that plot, but

I was trying to stay true to at least part of CF... which meant... Rodrigue died. 0/10 do not recommend.

Ingrid also died but I'm more distraught that I let Rodrigue die and I may never be whole again.

I don't think I focused enough on Claude slipping up with his identity (barring his real name). While it technically would happen the same way, I don't think I put enough... weight to how much Love Made Him Stupid. I was planning to focus on it in the upcoming chapter, but I really think it comes across as a bit less of a big deal to him than I intended for it to. Basically Dimitri wanted everyone to know they were together, and with it being the first time Claude had fallen in love, he was less alert about politics and such, because woooo new feelings and Dimi accepting him no matter what, so he felt more fearless about it. After it was out in the open he ends up regretting it and talks to Lorenz about it in the chapter that is currently a wip, but my main issue with all of it overall is that I feel like I glossed over the fact that Claude let himself go, which was because he wanted Dimitri to be happy and he felt like between the two of them that they could actually get to the future Claude was fighting for. It was basically like... he felt like it could actually happen for sure now, and he's intentionally (by the writing, not from his perspective) supposed to drop the bomb too early than he would actually be comfortable with. Like, you wanna do something and you actually believe for that moment that you can, but you forget patience because something made you motivated and happy for it and you just kinda ??? fuckin oopsie ??? So yeah, that... has kinda been part of what has kept me from continuing that fic for so long now lmao. I wanted to fill in those gaps before continuing with the fic because they feel too important to leave out.

I wanted to implement Sylvix into the fic more than I have so far. I mean okay sure, it's only three chapters so far so it's not like I don't have time, but I was worried about my wordcount and cut an entire Dimitri+Sylvix bonding scene over them anguishing about Ingrid and Rodrigue. I kept part of it, but I chopped out a pretty decent chunk. I might still write it in a later chapter, but I wish I'd done it when I'd originally planned to.

Rodrigue tho.

Anything that you'd like to write but feel like you're unable to?

Darker, more mature themed AUs. Things probably bordering on dead dove, maybe not quite, but the thing stopping me is that I keep being like, no, I have to write everyone in character. Obviously that prevents me from going past certain boundaries, because in my mind if it feels ooc (even if it's not by the context of the fic), I start backtracking. If I can't find a probable way for something to happen then I usually don't write it. Unfortunately in this case pretty much any instance of dead dove or anything bordering that for most characters in the Fodlan series would be ooc anyway technically, and it keeps me from actually writing any ideas.

I can read that stuff just fine and I enjoy fics I've read that definitely ignore canonical personality boundaries, but for some reason I still struggle to write those things.

Honestly, anything that feels ooc is a struggle to write, and by ooc I don't mean just their characterization or personality, but things they would or wouldn't do. think like, i don't know, byleth as a telemarketer. i would have no idea how do that. now yuri, i could make him a telemarketer, but byleth? confusion. but hey, maybe you could write a telemarketer yuri calls byleth and that's how they met and hooked up jfkhsiuftg

(Not A) Weekly Update

Yeah, so, that idea didn’t work out. :/ Still! Here’s a brief rundown of where I’m at right now.

As is typical for, just, my life in general, I’ve gotten onto quite a good roll with writing and so of course uni goes back today. -.- As a result, odds are my time and inclination for writing is probably going to nosedive. :( However! I am going to try and keep it ticking away if I can. We’ll see how I go.

As far as actual projects, and what I achieved over the semester break:

Forgotten Fates Did not write the entire draft of this like I wanted. I’m honestly a little disappointed in myself for this, but them’s the breaks. Interestingly, I got up to a scene I’d quite been looking forward to writing and just stalled out big time. I’m not sure if I sort of intimidated myself about it or what. But on the upside, I have an almost scene-by-scene plan for the rest of the story, so with any luck I won’t forget any important plot points when I do get back to writing it (see below). Wordcount over the break: 66k

Random Thing Self-indulgent piece I played around with briefly, though likely won’t continue. Any idea of a plot is still entirely amorphous, though I did have fun writing it, so I’m counting it as a win regardless. Wordcount: 6k

New WIP (?) Tentatively calling this MTG, and it appears to be going the way of The Monstrosity, re: random scene idea turned into series of scenes turned into characters and whatnot turned into plot. I enjoy writing in this style and I’d really like to keep up the momentum. Utterly self-indulgent heavily-inspired/derivative kind of piece that last night whacked me over the head with a potential actual plot. The aim with this is going to be to get as much of it down as I can. Similarly to The Monstrosity, I’m not too concerned with connecting scenes etc and I’m continuing my experiment started with FF re: making my scenes shorter. Not thinking about beats or arcs or much except getting the scenes down that I want to get down and telling myself as much of the story as I possibly can. There’s a very good possibility I’ll somewhat intro this at some stage, and when I get to That Scene That I’m Very Looking Forward To (which is about a scene and a half away), if it comes out even half as good as I’m hoping I’m definitely gonna share it here. Wordcount: 16k

So that’s the summary! Ended up writing 88,000 words over the approximately six-week break, and even if all of them weren’t for the project I was hoping they’d be for, I’m still pretty happy with that. (It includes an entire week off as well as Quite A Few days where I went ehhhh I’ll do it tomorrow, so I don’t think it’s too bad.) Got a new project and I’m embracing the concept of WIP-hopping for the time being, mostly because I’m having so much fun.

Primary challenge for the foreseeable future: keeping up creative momentum whilst also studying full time. This is complicated by Potential Plans I have for next year, but we’ll just see how I go.

2. How many WIPs do you currently have?

god i wish i knew lmao i constantly come up with fic ideas, draft em, and then either don't get around to writing em or i don't finish the drafting part.

theres the soulmate AUs which are pretty close to being done, a set of fics for svt + skz that i haven't drafted yet but am getting ideas down for. the soulmate bodyswap aus (woozi for svt, lee know for skz if i choose to write it). the chubby!fem!reader fic that i'd like to write for felix. shadow (poly UtS) is still a wip. the second part to i won't run away (its a lee know fic). i kinda have a childhood friends -> lovers fic in mind for seungmin. i started this mingyu fic that's centered around food (current title for it is 10 course meal bc its like taste of love where its cut up into sections based on the meals shared). keep it simple, stupid! which is a paboracha fic where everyone is mutually pining for someone but they're a lil blind to it and the rest of skz makes a bet on who will realize it and confess to their person the soonest.

also idk if theres an audience for it but i did have some plans for a chubby!fem!reader fic w seokmin where they fake date for a while and uhh ohhhh it turns real oopsies. theres also the woozi fic i promised a while back where woozi is an art student and chubby!fem!reader ends up becoming his muse for a bit

i had Big plans for july that i still could go back to involving a full group svt fic of the group taking off time to go on vacation together because work and life keeps em all apart and it'd break into individual parts of realizing feelings for reader. i might not do them, but if i do, i think i'd be breaking it into summer-themed fics and i might extend it out to skz (and maybe trsr, depending on how i feel ig?) as well

there's also love, lee that i wanted to write but that one's much more up in the air between being a svt fics involving the lees there or being a felix fic.

basically i have a lot of fics i wanna write and only so many hours in the day to work on them :(

20. What’s a fanfiction trope that you couldn’t imagine writing?

hmm.. i guess yandere stuff comes to mind first? its just not my cup of tea and there's other writers who do enjoy writing it so ppl can always find it there! (obvs nothing wrong w enjoying stuff in fiction, it's just not something i think i'd ever be interested in writing :3)

also ig kind of smut but only specifically on this blog. if i write it, it's on a sideblog, and i rarely write it since i'm not good at it lmao plus something something sexual abuse trauma stops me from... a lot in life and that tends to be part of it

I try to respond to every comment because there’s nothing I like more than talking with people about my writing and the stories that inspire it! I’m more than happy to answer questions on here too, if anyone has any!

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

So, these days I’m generally a firm believer in happy endings, but in the pre-AO3 days, I used to mostly write death!fic and a few highlights actually made it onto AO3:

The Death of Spock - Spock dies during the original five-year mission and Kirk is left to pick up the pieces

Only a Fool - Watson dies at Reichenbach and Holmes is left to pick up the pieces

Honorable mention: Devoted - the inevitable tragedy of Mary Watson (nee Morstan)

Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

As it turns out, the other thing I used to write is crazy crossovers, many of which were never finished, let alone saw the light of day. I’ve dialed back on it (a little), but here are some highlights:

Spock in Wonderland

Millennium Death Note - currently in progress! (What if Light Yagami solved the Millennium Puzzle?)

The Mysterious Mr. Jeeves - Jeeves and Wooster x Everything, but I think the most outlandish one in there would have to be The Phantom of the Opera

Honorable mention: my old BBC Sherlock x Harry Potter - the writing isn’t great and the plot is a bit of a mess, but it will likely always be my most viewed fic

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Only a little bit and mostly just on FanFiction.net - there was one person offended that my big Star Trek TOS x TNG crossover was “secretly” Kirk/Spock. More often I get people who like most of my fics, but then get annoyed about Kirk being polyamorous or Spock being ace or don’t like how I decided to end something, which isn’t terribly helpful, but could be worse.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Nope, don’t read it, don’t write it, just not for me.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge, thankfully.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I’m honored that people want to translate my stories into other languages (and make podfic of them)!

My first and dearest will always be Holmes/Watson from the original Sherlock Holmes stories

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I’ve gotten to be pretty good at finishing things I want to write, but there’s this huge Disney crossover I started writing with a friend that is glorious and complicated and almost 1/3 of the way done despite being over 90k already. Whenever I think about it, I always think that, yes, I will finish it some day, even though my co-author has lost interest, but the truth is probably not... But who knows, maybe I’ll turn around and have it done for next year’s @wipbigbang!

What are your writing strengths?

I’ve discovered a secret talent for finishing what I start, which is nice - a combination of planning and just keeping at it, slow and steady.

I think I do a good job of capturing characters’ voices, whether in dialogue or narration, and it serves me particularly well when I’m trying to imitate a style - I’m especially proud of some of my Jeeves and Wooster. I can also do some nice flowery prose if put my mind to it.

What are your writing weaknesses?

For all of my love of pretty prose, it’s easy for me to forget to describe things, so my writing can end up fairly sparse. I also feel like I could get better at integrating romance and plot - the romance often ends up getting drowned out by everything else going on, which is especially frustrating because I’m usually writing it because of the romance.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

That’s a good question. Probably Death Note (my friends and I used to ship L/Light) - that’s the oldest fic I have on my computer, at least, but I used to write on paper, so there may be something even older there. The first fandom I posted anything for is Harry Potter (a next-gen OC fic about the daughter of Bellatrix Lestrange - it’s best not to ask). I also posted my first Holmes/Watson fic at about the same time (it’s pretty bad, but I tried).

What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

I’m actually really happy with a couple of my somewhat recent longer fics:

Generations - my Kirk/Spock Star Trek: Generations fix-it

Bertie Solves a Mystery - Jeeves and Wooster get embroiled in a murder mystery and meet Hercule Poirot and Hastings (also Jeeves has a mysterious backstory)
