here's the thing: catra never knew adora as well as she thought she did.

like sure, she knew what adora's insecurities and fears were (and used them against adora, as all abusers do). but catra had a very warped image of adora in her mind. in her perspective, adora was this egotistic and selfish person who had a hero complex and enjoyed being the center of attention.

adora never wanted to be a hero. she never asked for it. she wanted to help people, of course, because she wasn't selfish and sadistic like catra. but she never enjoyed being put under so much pressure.

and catra never realizes this.

even in that iconic “what do you want, adora?” scene that everyone keeps praising, what does catra say afterward? adora tells her that she has to sacrifice herself to save etheria, and catra says this:

she acts like its adora's choice.

she acts like adora wants to die for the sake of everyone else, as if adora is doing this for fame and fanfare. she was the one who contributed to adora's lack of self-worth and her tendency to put herself last, and catra now acts like adora had a choice.

catra never knew adora, she only knew the warped version of adora that she herself had created. catra never understood the real adora. and she never tried to.

As someone who LOVES a good old time travel au, and after seeing amazing fanart of kid!Mihawk i have to let it out!!

I just wanna read a time travel fic where baby Mihawk wakes up and finds himself in the world of adult Mihawk and he's like wtf is going on?

And word goes around that a kid that looks exactly like Hawkeyes and carries the same cross knife as him is roaming around this island and rumors say it's the son he abandoned to fend for himself.

And so, marines and every pirates he ever wronged come after him for revenge and the little guy is just thinking why is everyone trying to get me? While doing his best with his cross dagger to rid of them.

And Shanks, good ol' shanks could have sworn that if his old rival had an 9years old, he would know about it (also he refuses to let the bitter taste in his heart take over unless his own eyes see) so he's skeptical about the whole thing and that's the only thing that gets him to leave his hideout in a reclused ghost island waiting for whatever is his big plan to take place.

News say Red Shanks is on the move after being mia for a few years and everyone got their panties in a twist, what could have raised the emperor from the dead.

He follows from island to island because apparently the young boy knows how to avoid the marines and pirates coming after him.

Till one night, on their stop at some bar on an island that wasn't really on the plan, he sees the boy. Just outside the bar in an alley, where he went to empty his guts from the booze overfilling his body, there stood bloody faced, cross dagger in one hand, a tiny version of his old rival with a bounty hunter's body at his feet.

The boy furrows his eyebrows even more at the new arrival and strikes another pose in case the new guy tries something funny. But Shanks, drunk ass Shanks, who knows his rival by heart is a 100% sure the little guy is in fact his rival for whatever magical reason, there he stands in front of him in the form of an 9years old and Shanks giggles at that -to which the child takes great offense- and just say "hey kid, i'm a friend of your dad's, want me to take you to him?"

With people complaining how it’s not a ‘bell hell’s’ show anymore and how they didn’t get to do anything blah blah, I actually thought of LOTR

Yknow hobbits? Those little guys no one thought important? Cuz they can’t fight like elves or dwarfs or do magic like Gandalf or be Super Important like a secret king? Yeah those are our level 8 bells hells.

They’re not Voice of the Tempest or Secret Order Super Monk to fight corruption or a dunamatic wizard turning dragon.

They’re level 8.

But yknow what, they destroyed a key. They have connections. They have loyalty and friendship. They’re tough. They’re the little guys. And if people are gonna underestimate them? Well, we all know how the last story turned out.

I maybe be biased (I know an embarrassing amount about LOTR) but I think you're on to something anon.

Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein are powerful heroes who can shape the world around them. At this point, they're all basically demigods.

And then you have Bells Hells, a ragtag group of people who didn't quite fit anywhere else. And despite being so small in the overall scope of things, still stare down death with the same voracity as people huge power levels above them.

And that's what really makes them compelling. That's why this is their story, despite cameos and mentions of previous campaigns. Because while the old guard's spells and power are great, they are nothing in the face of this small group's sheer will.

And that's what campaign three is about.

No matter how small you are, and how limited your options seem, you always have the capacity to create change.

And to be fair, doesn't everyone seem small when facing the end of the world?

The fact that you think Hitler and Netanyahu are comparable would be laughable if it wasn't infuriating.

This is not me defending Netanyahu, he is an incompetent, petulant man who aided terrorist just to continue being in power. But those two thing aren't comparable.

Hitler tried to conquer the world, he systematically combed looking for jews and romani people to specifically exterminate them in whatever place they hide, he created death camps specifically to kill those people. He burned books related to homosexuality and trans people, because that was "jewish science" in his eyes. And much more than that.

You trying to equate the two means you not only don't give a shit about history or the pain of jewish and romani people, you clearly don't give a shit about what's going on. You don't care to investigate what is actually happening. Someone doesn't need to be Hitler levels of bad to need to be stopped, but you clearly don't give a crap about that.

All you are doing is spread hate while making up for your guilt of living on a stolen land, while not bothering to lift a finger to help those people in need more than spreading this hate.

I hope one day you actually decide to look into history and sources instead of fucking twitter, and realize that your reductionist views of the world only help to spread misinformation and help rather than helping the millions of people that actually need help.

i'm not really interested in further communicating with ppl on my barbie post because i feel i've said my piece but it's insanely frustrating that me saying "barbie got a vagina and that's bad" was interpreted by that person as "oh so you want barbie to have a dick?" like first of all sure. girl power. but second of all the focal point of the issue here was the constant obsession cis people and transphobes have with genitalia as being the centerpiece to gender. they could have done so many other things to communicate barbie is now a "real woman," but they chose to pussify her. that is transphobic, and such textbook transmisogyny in particular. i am sooo fucking sick of people implying that i'm inventing issues for reading the film the same way the entire cisgender populous is, but because i'm taking issue with it i'm the asshole. boooooooo
