ESCAPING INTO A SHIP
So what exactly made me latch onto the Sydcarmy ship like a leech on a water buffalo?
Tumblr media
It was unexpected (for me)! Yes, the very first meeting between Syd and Carm did make an impact. I thought "Oooh, what's this?!" However, Carmy was/is such a mess that I quickly dismissed it. And Sydney just seemed to want his professional approval and a partner in making something great after the soul-crushing failure of Sheridan. So, the first season I personally didn't feel a mutual sexual/romantic tension, more like an automatic respect and shared goals/passions. Sydney nor Carm were obviously trying to flirt. Most slow burns on TV are 100% obvious like a Jeanine and Gregory (Abbott Elementary), Nick and Jess (New Girl), Jake and Amy (Brooklyn 99), Jim and Pam (The Office)...Until Braciole Ep. 8 that is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
S. 1 Episode 8- I won't get into everything but Carmy was desolate. Yes, he became a psycho chef and two people quit in Ep.7. However, he mourned Sydney more than Marcus. She was in his flashback/nightmare (?), then the way he told Tina that she looked like Syd (the poor pup), him texting her before opening the note from Mikey, and finally the most gorgeous locked gaze scene since Pride and Prejudice (2005). The soft lighting, the music, the colors, the mind-reading...magical. I still didn't get it initially. Silly, blind me.
Tumblr media
Mentorship where??? Season 2 Carm and Syd's "mentorship" dynamic is pretty much over. They are true partners and spending more time together. They're dressing alike even when not in uniform, finishing each other's sentences or talking in unison. Sydney is opening up more of herself and Carm is asking to know more. They use the ASL sign for sorry with each other and no one else until ep 10. Then there's that locker scene in ep. 1 or 2, when they almost hang out just cause. However, Carmy misses the moment and there's the return of the kicked pup face. Before being on the ship I was delighted with all of their scenes and was looking forward to the food tour. They just ROCK together on screen.
Tumblr media
Classic Love Triangle- Who's Claire? She's "Claire Bear", the prototypical "cool girl", who is willing to chase an socially awkward, wrong-number-giving man, despite being a pretty ER resident with no shortage of options. Did a CW writer get hired? Anyways, why was her presence used almost exclusively to put strain on Carmy and Sydney's relationship instead of The Bear generally? We could have had scenes with Nat, Richie, and Marcus arguing with Carmy about him being distracted due to Claire. They saved 99% of that for Sydney. They CHOSE to insert her in between or just after scenes with him and Claire. Showing Sydney's tattoos and her getting dressed with the stained chef's coat juxtaposed with them was WILD.
Tumblr media
I LOVE that both believe their interpersonal problems are solely about The Bear/business partnership. In most "slowburns" the characters are far more conscious and actively work to keep things platonic. Jeremy might be a smidge aware that Sydney means more to him after the panic attack, but I bet he's shoved it down. All he knows afterward is that being with Claire feels wrong hence ignoring her call and recommitting to SYDNEY. He could of said "You all/This/The Bear deserve my full focus etc..." He was also nagged into greeting Claire at Friends and Family, seemed anxious when Fak brought her up right before The Table scene, and also while explaining that "she's great" to Sydney. He was at peace when focused on Sydney in the moment below.
Tumblr media
The actors: Jeremy and Ayo's real life friendship is warms my soul and their chemistry onscreen is amazing. DON'T WASTE IT!!!
Tumblr media
Jeremy smolders on screen. I want to see Carmy continue to stare, yearn, fall, then eventually confess and for Sydney to reciprocate his feelings. Anyhoo, does anyone else melt when Carm means business?! They do this twice in season one and it's not good for me. Whew, I need to clean my whole house or run a few miles.
Tumblr media
Finally, there's so many other parallels between these two. They are fearful avoidants, have a missing or dead parent, jacked up stomachs, use sarcasm, but are generally very earnest, they struggle with anxiety, are compassionate, are perfectionists, peace-makers, give people multiple chances, are workaholics...so much more. A lot of that is also ME, lol.
Tumblr media
Sydcarmy is my Roman Empire. I love them as much as you can fictional characters and they deserve the most tender, angsty, triumphant, romantic best-friends to more love story.

A Witch's Siren
Azul/Siren!Reader (Romantic) Octatrio/Siren!Reader (Platonic Poly)
=============
Despite what many land dwelling races believed, there was more to merfolk culture and biology than what was written about in tourist brochures and grade school textbooks.
The Coral Sea, for instance, was only one of many diverse districts that had been built by their people. The tropical Emerald Coasts that bordered the Land of Pyroxene and had a vibrant culture that was closely tied to the nearby port city; The Great Chasm that was home to the deep sea merfolk who’s mysterious nature brought all kinds of unique trade and art with them; the Glittering Fjords where merfolk who preferred colder climates created trailing pockets of close knit villages that were a hub of textile traditions sought after even by land royals; and the Crystal Caverns where all kinds of rare flora and fauna that could be used for potions and alchemy were nurtured by the glowing, magic infused caves were only some of the most populous.
Another preconceived notion was that merfolk biology was a direct one-to-one with other sea life, while the truth was that while many merfolk forms did have recognizable similarities to, say, an octopus or a dolphin, they were not actually related to fish at all. In fact, they had more biological similarities to fae than any other living creature in the oceans and some ancient tales spoke of fae being merfolk who decided to leave their watery homes and take on legs to walk the forests.
Of course, for fae, the fables were the other way around, but whatever the truth, merfolk were incredibly diverse and more than simply ‘a part human fish’.
Sirens, for instance, were a group of merfolk who, historically, had the most interaction with humans. It was said that the princess that betrayed the Great Sea Witch was a spoiled, selfish siren who gave her voice to try and win over a human prince but when her attempt failed she tricked the witch and cruelly turned on the one that had helped her in order to regain her voice and put the prince under her spell.
In the end the Great Sea Witch had sacrificed herself to undo what the siren had done to the poor man.  With her own siren powers she saved the human kingdom from being ruled under the princess’s demanding thumb. Incredibly inspiring. So inspiring, in fact, that it had been written and then refilmed so often almost every generation of merfolk had their own edition they had grown up with.
The films were so popular that they were even well received in land kingdoms and few children grew up without seeing it at least once. For the music if nothing else. Which also, unintentionally led to some common assumptions that fae, humans, and therianthropes had about merfolk.
It was widely known that music played a big part in merfolk culture. What those on land asusmed was that all merfolk could influence others with song, when in reality sirens were the only type that held actual magic in their voices.
They were also, unsurprisingly, the group of merfolk that interacted with land cultures regularly through trade, living in cities and towns nearer coasts and the ones most frequent to taking lovers or partners outside of their own kind. Mer-blood was potent, however, and nine times out of ten a child born of a merfolk would have all mer features or a combination where their genetic makeup still heavily leaned towards mer instead of human, fae, or therianthrope.
Sirens, unfortunately, had the hardest time conceiving but without fail, their children would be born with their hypnotic power of song.
This meant they were greeted by other cultures as well as their own with a confusing mix of reverence and distrust. Of praising them for their talents and captivating appearances while also whispering of unearned success and magically influenced business deals. A push and pull of opinions that would change as quickly as the tides but still could never quite overpower the fairytale of the alluring appearances and their enthralling voices that sang of happily-ever-afters.
Sirens were uncommon in the Coral Sea, however, far more comfortable in the warmer waters of the Emerald Coasts. It was quite a stir, therefore, when a family of famous sirens made the move to the capital. A trio and their child that was the same age as the youngest of the royal family.
At the time, Azul hadn’t cared much about the news. His mother was excited about the chance to host a dinner for them and possibly set up a deal of some kind for performances at her restaurant but he didn’t pay much attention. It wasn’t like it involved him and he already had to deal with horrible kids at school. He definitely didn’t want anything to do with a pampered siren that was used to having people fawn over their every move.
He got enough of that being in the same class as Rielle.
When the family accepted the special dinner invite his mother sent out, Azul prepared to hide for the night in her private lounge. It was where she held large business dinners and since she had closed the restaurant to all other guests for the night he knew she wouldn’t need it. He could slink away into there and work on his talismans or read.
What he normally spent his time doing alone since he had no friends.
He was used to it by now, though, and he was just grateful that his mother never forced him past what he was comfortable with. Because of that he was able to get away with a quick greeting where he did his best to hide behind her and couldn’t even lift his gaze, before he fled.
He only caught a small glimpse of the other kid and he was grateful to be able to avoid them.
With how breathtaking they were already, even at their age, he didn’t want to imagine what they thought of him or how willing they were to share their thoughts to his face.
To say that he was dismayed when he found out that they would be in his class as well was an understatement. He wasn’t surprised, however, when he barely caught sight of them before they were swarmed by the other kids in class and he did his best to try and block out everything going on around him. Instead he focused on trying to come up with a solution to why his newest talisman wouldn’t anchor the way it was supposed to.
Maybe - he thought hopefully - they will forget that I’m even here.
He should have known better.
His peace only lasted until lunch. As soon as the teacher left them alone for their ‘recess’ the more aggressive of his classmates turned on him. Maybe they were trying to show off, maybe they were just angry that they weren’t getting the attention they wanted. Whatever the reason, Azul only barely managed to press himself into the safety of his octopot before one of them managed to grab him.
Blood pounded in his ears. An unsteady stutter of three hearts racing against his ribcage. The familiar grip of panic and anxiety wrapping its claws around his lungs. Twisting and folding himself up as tightly as possible, he covered his ears and tried his best to hold in the tears.
It only ever seemed to make the bullies laugh and jeer louder.
One of the boys, though, had a growth spurt and his longer arms were able to reach deeper into his hiding place than before. Azul let out a cry as rough hands managed to catch hold of his hair and a tentacle. He felt the fingers digging in, the pain sharp as he thrashed uselessly to escape.
A whimper escaped his lips as he tried to cling to the worn surface of his ceramic pot but his panic and the growing number of hands yanking on him simply had his skin and flesh scraping along it uselessly. He hit hard packed sand as he was finally heaved out of his sanctuary. Coiling his tentacles around himself in a bid to protect against attacks, he prepared himself for the pain he knew was coming.
“I bet you’re the reason they don’t want to be here.” one snarled.
“Yeah, they probably don’t want to be in the same class as a stupid fat octopus.”
“Why would they want to let us hear their voice when something like you is here?”
Azul couldn’t stop the tears that bubbled from his eyes, biting his tongue to hold in cries and still trying to twist away from the grasping, bruising fingers.
He didn’t care what the siren did or didn’t do! He didn’t want anything to do with any of them! He just wanted them to go away! He just wanted them to lea-”
“Leave him alone.”
A ripple of magic washed over Azul’s senses, causing an odd shiver to trail down his spine as the most beautiful sound he had ever heard met his ears.
It was like the entire ocean itself stilled for a moment to listen.
Or maybe it was just him.
He looked up to see the new student not too far away. They almost looked like they were trembling harder than him, their beautiful eyes wide and panicked but glowing in the way he had heard their kind did when using their magic. It was clear they were as terrified as he was, but his addled mind couldn’t grasp why.
All it knew was that he wanted to hear that voice again.
The four students let their grasps fall away from him, all staring in awe at the mesmerizing siren.
“That was amazing!” one breathed, her eyes locked on the figure that was starting to curl into themself.
“Could you sing again? It was beautiful!” another begged, his hands reaching out to take theirs hopefully, his focus intense and near obsessed.
Azul watched the siren flinch, shrinking away from the touch and how the four that had previously been leaving bruises on him now looked like they wanted to embrace the terrified figure. They all started talking at once, trying to convince them to sing again. Not noticing or ignoring the very obvious trepidation and quickly building panic, they surrounded them, pushing closer and closer until he could barely see them at all.
“Go away!”
Azul’s breath was stolen again.
The song was just as lovely, just as enchanting as before, but the tone of fear was unmistakable to his ears. The call tugged on his mind this time, however, and he found himself slinking into his octopot again without thought.
There was a beat as the other students fell silent before they murmured goodbyes and left as well.
A heavy tension clung to his shoulders as he waited.
He could tell the siren hadn’t left and he was unsure why.
He also couldn’t forget how fearful they had looked, or how they had actually…helped him. Were they going to tease him themself? That didn’t make sense though, why wouldn’t they want the others there to watch if that was what they wanted? Why had they helped him?
After a minute and he felt the last of the influencing magic easing from his mind, he cautiously pulled himself towards the lid of his octopot and peeked out.
His gaze instantly met a pair of large, brilliant eyes.
The siren was right there, almost nose to nose with him.
A heavy, purple blush exploded on his face but his flustered panic was cut off by the startled sound the other made as they scrambled back, falling over themself. Their voluminous, silky fins rippled around them in a mesmerizing, iridescent show of color and shimmery scales. They flailed and darted behind a large outcrop of coral, leaving only the ends of their caudal fins and the tips of their hair swaying in the current.
Azul stared.
Were they…were they afraid of him? Him?
He watched as their fingers - not yet developed enough for the elaborate claws adults tended to sport - curled over the edge of the coral before they cautiously peeked out at him. Their face was just as flushed as his, eyes still bright, still as beautiful even if they were no longer glowing. Their expression was wary and nervous. It didn’t seem right for such a pretty face to look like that.
Azul continued to stare for a moment, confused and trying to figure out just what might be going on. Eventually, though, he opened the lid of his octopot just a bit wider so that he could lean his head out more.
“H-hello?” he managed a weak stammer.
The siren hesitated, still flushing darkly before they gave a small, shy wave from behind their hiding spot, pulling back a little embarrassed. As if they thought he would yell at them for responding.
The fact that they hadn’t lashed out or even seemed like they wanted to get near him helped at least settle some of his more immediate fears.
“Um…thank you, for…for making them leave.” he managed.
The other’s blush darkened even further but they didn’t reply. Their gaze skittered away shyly. He had expected an enthusiastic boast of their talent. Rielle certainly would have.
But they didn’t say anything.
“I…uh…my name is Azul.” he tried softly, uncertain why he thought this was a good idea or what exactly he thought would come of it. “What’s…what’s yours? S-sorry, I don’t remember.” he muttered, not wanting to admit that he hadn’t even bothered to try and register it in the first place.
He watched them shift, clearly uncomfortable and unsure as they chewed on their bottom lip. His spirits sank when they didn’t seem to want to tell him, or talk to him. The boy’s hopeful expression seeped away and he pulled back into his octopot, closing the lid.
Clearly they didn’t want anything to do with him, just like the rest. He shouldn’t be surprised. They were probably scared that he was an octomer. Most didn’t leave The Great Chasm, after all, and his bioluminescence wasn’t exactly common in the Coral Sea. It only made sense.
He was about to curl up in the back of his sanctuary, again, when a light tap came against the dark ceramic.
Azul blinked and warily moved to push the lid open again.
The siren was there, hanging back a little from the pot but at least no longer hiding. They were wringing their hands nervously, though, the finlets along their arms fluttering a bit in agitation. Their blush didn’t fade but they reached up to tap their chest lightly before pointing at the sea floor in front of the pot.
Azul looked down and blinked when he saw a name drawn in the sand.
“Oh…that’s your name?” he said, eyes widening a little as he looked back up to them.
They curled their shoulders in a little like they were trying to make themself smaller, but they gave a slight nod.
The small crest of hope bubbled again and he offered a timid smile.
“It’s a very p-pretty name.” he said before shifting and cautiously sliding his way out of the octopot, watching their reaction closely.
They didn’t look disgusted, in fact they edged a little closer and reached their hand out. They stopped before they got near one of his tentacles, though, and turned a questioning look on him silently. It took him a moment but he realized they were asking permission to touch him.
He didn’t remember anyone ever doing that before.
His flush returned but he managed a small nod, reaching up with the closest tentacle to brush against their soft fingers. They were gentle and their expression was filled with a sort of curiosity that was so far removed from the fear or disgust from others that he didn’t even mind when they prodded one of his suckers, letting out a quiet giggle that sent bubbles drifting from their lips.
Azul tilted his head a little as he watched them.
“Do you not like to talk?” he asked carefully, inwardly wincing when he saw them freeze. “I-I don’t mind! Really!” he said quickly, waving his hands. “I just…uh, I was going to ask if maybe…if maybe you wanted to…play…with me. B-but I can get something for you to write on!”
The siren stared at him, eyes going wide before a small, fragile smile bloomed on their face.
They nodded.
-
Azul was grateful for whatever luck or destiny had brought his siren to him. That allowed such a bright and warm friend to become a part of his life. To break through the bleak darkness that he had existed in before.
It felt like his whole world changed overnight.
School was still filled with awful people but with them at his side no one was willing to do anything. The first few times they tried his best friend would unfailingly send them off in a daze, no matter how frightened they were themself or how they always hid against him afterwards. They never abandoned him.
It was only a few months later when a pair of twin eelmers would wiggle their way into their sphere and suddenly life…life wasn’t so bad.
His Pearl taught them all the hand language at his behest and he didn’t stop practicing until they could share silent conversations for hours without the use of a notepad or tablet.
The tight hug they gave him and the kiss on his cheek had sent Azul fleeing into his octopot, but they just waited patiently for him to feel comfortable enough to come out again. Not once did they tease him about it or even act like it was odd.
Most of his free time was spent with them now.
They would listen and offer up suggestions about his talismans, finding the whole idea fascinating. Their own interests became a focus for Azul as well and that was how he found out that they were terrified of performing for others. They loved music but they preferred quieter hobbies, solitary ones until they met Azul.
Attention focused on them was overwhelming and when they were scared it was like their ability to speak was stolen and the words would get caught in their throat.
It was how he realized just how much they had pushed past to help him that first day.
He vowed to get strong enough and powerful enough to ensure they never felt scared again. They never had to share their voice if they didn’t want to but he wasn’t going to let others steal it from them against their will. He would show them that they were wonderful, no matter what their parents wanted them to become, and if others didn’t see it then he would make them see it.
They were his Pearl, after all. His Angelfish, his Siren.
His everything.
And he would do anything to protect them.
-
Octavinelle was the house of the Great Sea Witch and was founded around her benevolent nature.
Azul was the pinnacle of everything Octavinelle stood for. Handsome, talented, a genius. Unfailingly humble. Able to convince the Headmage to allow him permission to build a lounge on campus. He had taken over the position of Housewarden before midterms of his first year and no one dared to question his ability to do so.
He was also terrifying.
Not only did he hold his housemates to the highest standards, he insisted that each one become fluent in sign language within the first semester of being there. He held exacting requirements and lots of fine print in the contracts that he made with students and was ruthless in their payment. That wasn’t even mentioning Jade and Floyd who easily took care of any…troublesome clients.
Their sharp smiles could be even more intimidating than the Heartslabyul Queen’s rage.
The only exception was the Octavinelle Siren.
It was said they turned down not only a placement at RSA but also an engagement with the youngest Atlantean prince. They were breathtakingly beautiful despite their attempts to blend in, and everyone had expected them to be placed in Pomefiore the moment they stepped up to the mirror.
Instead they were sent to Octavinelle and the blinding smile they turned on Azul before hurrying to his side had caused more than one student to fall in love instantly.
They were quiet to the point of being near silent most of the time, communicating through their hands and a tablet much like the Ignihyde Housewarden. Shy and timid, they only seemed to open up around their three protective friends, hardly ever being seen from the side of at least one of them.
It didn’t stop them from gaining a fanclub within days of arriving.
When Rook Hunt threw himself at them out of nowhere with loud, flowery prose that sent them into a panic attack, Floyd sent the Vice-Housewarden through a wall.
A long, very tense meeting with Housewarden Schoenheit behind closed doors ended with a golden contract that assured Rook wouldn’t be caught within fifty meters of the siren unless required specifically for classwork.
In return, the blonde human wouldn’t become a missing persons case.
The fact that Rook continued to stalk Leona Kingscholar but refrained from doing more than tip his hat politely at the silent mer in greeting from across a room spoke for itself.
After that only very very stupid students tried anything with the siren. Considering more than one mysteriously dropped out of NRC after badgering them too much or saying anything about them refusing to talk or sing…well they were idiots and the school was better off without them.
They had a special, reserved table, at Mostro Lounge where they could watch when Azul would hire a special musician. They helped Floyd cook in the kitchen sometimes, as long as they didn't have to work as the waitstaff. Most of the time, however, they spent in Azul’s office. School work and helping him come up with ideas and plans for the lounge were all done behind the privacy of silencing wards. It was one of the rare few places that they felt secure enough to speak, trusting Azul and the twins after years at their side.
They never pushed their Angelfish, never tried to force or coerce them into singing for the lounge despite the undeniable truth that it would bring more money in a single night than they made in a whole month. They would never force their Pearl into a situation that made them uncomfortable or that upset them.
They knew this. It was why they never feared Floyd, always holding their arms open in invitation for his notorious ‘squeezes’ and bringing him snacks and drinks during club. It was why they always tried Jade’s mushroom dishes and braved the more tame hikes with him despite being terrified of insects. It was why they looked at Azul like he hung the moon whenever the Housewarden would skillfully step into any conversation or moment where they felt overwhelmed and instantly force the attention away from them and onto himself.
Why they helped whenever he would have too much work, shuffling the octomer off to sleep to recover. Why they left notes on his desk, in his room, tucked into his uniform pockets, slipped into his textbooks, always with words of praise and compliments. Why they helped temper his more ruthless plans to something that wouldn’t taint his reputation.
Why they were willing to be disowned by their family just for the chance of remaining at Azul’s side just a little longer.
Because they knew that even without their voice, Azul and the twins loved them. They never had to fear that love being taken away because they didn’t sing. Didn’t enthrall audiences and build an empire on fake adoration for the hope of a shred of affection. They knew that even if they never sang again they would never be abandoned.
It was why, every once in a while - long after the lounge had closed and the rest of the house was meant to be in bed - the enchanting song of the Octavinelle Siren filled the VIP office as they sang for the ones they loved.
The only ones they trusted their voice to.
It was why they threw themself into Azul’s arms on their graduation day when he presented them with a very special contract.
One that came with matching pearl rings.

Hope you all enjoy! I kind of panicked when I realized I almost missed MerMay again! lol Hopefully this is good enough. <3

Other queer headcanons:
Icy -> Asexual Lesbian
She just has ace vibes to me. Darcy's whole manipulation thing by attraction is so useful but also she does not understand how it works even a little bit
Darcy -> Bisexual
She has a preference for men but it's not super strong. Shes always knew she was bisexual, baby Darcy was always aware. Smart girl hours
Stormy -> Aromatic Het
Stormy is so aromantic to me!!!! She has that aroallo energy of being hot, idk what to tell you. I literally could never see Stormy in a romantic relationship, like she'd have a platonic life partner but dating isn't real.
Sky -> Questioning (Bi pref women)
Brandon has once 100% offered to kiss Sky to see if he's bi, bc he had a crush on him and Sky still didn't realize he was bi. Like Eraklyon palace is not the place to try and question your sexuality and being attracted to people who could turn out to be spy's or he had a fuck ton of explicit power over was scary so he never figured out his sexuality until like s2~3
Brandon -> Gender Neutral, Pan, Poly
Brandon doesn't have a gender. He's completely gender neutral. Like he doesn't experience gender. He doesn't get gender euphoria or dysphoria. If he suddenly turned into a girl literally nothing would happen. He just doesn't experience gender, no gender here, godbless. He'd probably say Gender Neutral but there's other words for that
He's pan bc when he goes into the smooch competition with Stella, no one is off limits. Like I said with Stella, if they met someone they both wanted to date asking them out is a done deal
Timmy -> Gay Ace
This is just 100% vibes. Tecna is busy not dating him and Timmy needs something nice for himself. He just has the ace "I'm tired of you allos acting stupid as shit" energy in my thing, and he's gay bc he deserves nice things
Riven -> Bisexual
He's bi with a preference for women, and he would of known sooner but he was so far into the fucking closet that he had become one with the clothes. Musa helps him come out of the closet and they talk about hot people together I love them
Helia -> Alterous Transman
Alterous attraction is basically just attraction that isn't platonic or romantic vs aesthetic or sexual. It can be between them or be a secret third thing (like it is for me). Helia's alterous attraction is between platonic and romantic, and between aesthetic and sexual, everything is really fuzzy for him. He doesn't get strong anything but he still gets the feelings and impulse, it's just weak and most of the time he can't tell if it's actually platonic or aesthetic
He's also trans, this is just true. As soon as he learned what a boy and girl was he was telling his parents he was a boy. Like he knew very very early on, and he socially transitioned at a young age. Gender win for Helia
Nabu -> Gay
THIS MAN IS A HOMOSEXUAL!!!!! He and Sky make up the "raised rich and wears shiny ass earrings once they realized being GNC is an option" club, and good for him
Daphne -> Queer (Lesbian)
Daphne was WAY too busy fighting the ancestral witches to ever figure out her sexuality but she was aware of the fact that she wasn't cishet, so she just grabbed a macro label and kept it moving
Mirta -> GenderFluid Lesbian
It came to me in a dream. If she can use fairy and witch magic fluidly in canon what if her gender was fluid in my thing??? I am a fucking genius. Her hair is so non-binary. Haven't decided on pronouns yet, and Mirta just is a lesbian.
Diaspro -> Questioning (Pan)
Diaspro absolutely didn't have a single crush growing up in Eraklyon bc everyone there was a asshole and hatred her and she hated them back more. She was kinda punched in the face by her attraction to Bloom. She figures it out as soon as she leaves and talks to some normal people for like a month or something in s2 or s3
Roxy -> Agender AroAce
Roxy reminds me of my bestie who is agender, so they're agender, and I think it's funny if Roxy was watching the Winx do their relationship nonsense abt to throw up bc ew allo people. They are very repulsed, and I love them. They are literally a teenager trying to be cool and not understanding why everyone is dating or doing this gender shit. Triple A battery
Selina -> Trans Lesbian
Look at Selina's fucking ugly green hair and outfit, that is a trans lesbian if I've ever seen one
Krystal -> Bisexual
She just is, I can't explain. It's the Flora

“I really can't believe it.” Sanzang muttered, his tall, peaceful posture bent into a grimace of confusion. “poor child, may buddha illuminate her eyes.”
The demons around their master looked at each other, curious and more than anything; somewhat embarrassed. It was going to be a rather strange day, especially if Sanzang had been quite observant with one of his companions, you.
the pains in your stomach didn't seem to go away, your feet cramped every time you crumpled them in the palm of your feet and the headache seemed to make you want to vomit.
You had been away from the group for a moment, being surrounded by men was not easy, especially with Wukong's insensitivity once you commented that you were not feeling well and, magically it had all ended in a big discussion like all the others.
“asshole.” you muttered, Bai Long Ma, who was drinking water from the nearby river, gave you a quick glance, squeaking before slowly drinking again, as if affirming your words to the monkey.
your hand slowly peeled the peel of the fruit between your fingers, eating the fruit slowly and gently hoping the pain would stop, but it just wouldn't seem to go away, it was unbearable.
“I still don't understand how you were able to bring a brat to this kind of 'important stuff'.” of course, the monkey king was never silent; he never shut his mouth, nor did he think, everything he said came from his soul. maybe that's why you ended up crying sitting on a rock while his words carved you alive.
“Don't be such a jerk to the little sister!” Bajie jumped to defend you quickly, his scowl and accusing finger pointing at the demon king angrily. “Have some respect, you made her cry!”
“That made you fall low.” Sha Wujing followed him, almost in a low whisper once his large orbs followed the pages of the text he held in his hands. Wukong only clicked his tongue in disapproval.
“She asked for it.” He accused, crossing his arms as he stretched his mouth to the side in boredom, as if it wouldn't hurt him to have seen your scowling face and teary eyes until you ran off, probably shouting a loud "I hate you!" at him before disappearing with Tang's horse down the river.
“She is a child.” Tang Sanzang finally mumbled again, his hands finely cupping the bowl of water he had brought to his parched lips and throat. “It was my fault, I should have known about this.”
your hand took the peony gently, resting the stem against your palm as you took a moment to look at it, not wanting to pull out its roots or hurt such a beautiful flower. It was delicate and perfect, its petals precious and its scent enchanting, no one would ever try to harm it.
Without noticing it, the tears had returned to your eyes, the way you thought about it made you reflect for a moment, I wish you had been a flower and not had to face the hard moments of life since you were born.
you could be a flower, delicate and beautiful, people would envy you for your beauty, they would fight for you and you could become so, so important that a lucky young man would give it to his partner as a sign of love.
it felt so unreal.
This was an unreal world, wasn't it? you always had to be cautious about this kind of thing, to prepare yourself mentally for the kind of things you would face someday and in a short time, to go on with the heritage of life.
maybe... you should have listened to your mother and got married, performed the ceremony in your home and lined her pockets with money to live an unhappy life with someone you didn't know.
you were twelve years old when you ran away from home, it took you to get out of there and break your knees on the way to a Taoist temple and beg forgiveness for your actions until a monk taught you the true nature of the world.
you had remembered that this would be the last time you would cry, but here you were. somehow, you had become sensitive from a spontaneous moment, the pain had disappeared and now there was the salty sea waves.
You never thought you would meet demons, or form bonds with them, especially if you could boast that you had the monkey king himself as one of your bodyguards.
Zhu Bajie never tried to look at you with eyes other than the most protective ones, Sha Wujing preferred to sell his pride rather than to see you saddened, Tang Sanzang wanted to show you the true beauty of life and Sun Wukong... he....
Wukong was able to show you the world, take you to the top of Mount Laojun and look at the views around the mountains and hills, take your hand and hold your waist when he proposed to carry you on his cloud, smash skulls of monsters that barely looked at you and keep you away from danger as long as necessary.
“No— no, ” you shook, a lump in your throat at the thought of Wukong as someone else. perhaps it had all started as simple admiration, then it was a greater like- my god, you were a child without the knowledge of how to love.
It was all a mistake, you should never have gone with them, nor risked your lifeᅳ but you didn't want to get married either! see the taste in your parents' smile but never be able to feel it on your face, not even if your hands were forced to lengthen your mouth, you would die with the same frown on your features.
You had to give up a part of yourself if the journey required it, you would lie down on the filthy ground at the cost of running away and starting a new opportunity in your own new world, you would be happy and blessed under the wings of the greatest bird in the world, who would give respect and consideration in pursuit of your happiness.
“ha... dumbass,” you sighed, using the sleeves of your rags to quickly dry your wet eyes, letting the peony move freely in the air, your hair followed suit, letting itself be carried away by the warmth of the cool air a few hours before sunset.
Bai Long Ma flexed on the grass, his muzzle on the greenish grass and his attention on you, the sinews of its hooves on alert for any sudden movement of nature enough to run off at the speed of light... dragging you by the neck of course.
“monkeys are so stupid,” you bit your tongue, your shoulder blouse wiping your previously wet cheek. “so dumb, Wukong is dumb.”
Returned, the horse nodded in its own style. Letting your emotions out, you felt understood for a moment before turning away from the gentle call of the rushing water, and letting yourself rest after hard moments of overthinking about the journey and how it would end.
After an hour, the group of elders managed to find you and let you one by one see how you were in good health, carrying you to the makeshift bed of warmer and softer sheets for you, trying to apologize without the eagerness to talk; especially how Wukong decided to take care of you when the others went to the nearest town to buy supplies for their long and hard journey ahead.
Those big, golden animal eyes managed to keep you calm and collected throughout your day of finally deserved sleep.

Ship ask. Magna x Eirwen, Oscar x Eirwen.
Okay, here we go. Apologies for the wait! Life's been kicking my butt.
Magna x Eirwen
Makes sense, compels me!
I mean, duh. I have a bias. Obviously!
I made Eirwen just to ship her with Magna. That's why she has ice magic to compliment Magna's flame magic. It's kinda funny how the choices I made for her character worked out. According to the manga, Magna describes his ideal partner as:
Tumblr media
Now, one would expect someone of that description to be like super hyper or bubbly. And then there's me translating "lively" as: she has anxiety!
Which honestly works out well for their dynamic. Eirwen's anxiousness comes from growing up in an environment where she wasn't given a lot of positive reinforcement. She was born with a lot of magic power yet doesn't have the confidence to use it to its full extent. Meanwhile, Magna is the polar opposite. He has confidence and bravado for days, but his mana pool is on the smaller side. Eirwen has the capacity to keep up with him and then some. She just needs the boost in morale. Magna, being the hype man that he is, definitely sparks that energy in her to keep going. That encouragement helps her come out of her shell a lot more. Once Eirwen starts becoming more sure of herself, Magna falls for her more and more.
Eirwen, in turn, is also very bright and helps remind Magna not to behave so impulsively. She's the overthinker while Magna is a driven go-getter. She helps calm him down when he's about to lose his temper, and he soothes her worries. They make a great team. ❤️
Oscar x Eirwen
Makes sense, compels me! (In a platonic way)
God, these two are cute despite them not being meant to be! It's definitely a "looks good on paper" type of ship.
Oscar is definitely the ideal candidate Eirwen's noble family would want her to marry. He's rich, has an excellent pedigree, and is very intelligent and successful in his field. He is also such a patient, well-mannered gentleman. He would treat Eirwen so well and vice versa.
The sad thing is that Oscar and Eirwen can't exactly grow from one another. Maybe they can help each other with improving their abilities and research. However, they both have very similar personalities and temperament. I feel like they would keep each other in their comfort zones to not rock the boat. Both of them need to grow as people and require someone to motivate them to step out of their comfort zone and give them the courage to do so.
They would make wonderful friends, though. I would love to think of an AU where they were childhood friends that parallel played a lot. I picture Eirwen has fondness for him like that. If they were in an arranged marriage situation, it would definitely be the type where they have separate bedrooms. Not because they dislike one another, but maybe because the lifestyle of the other doesn't align. It would be a prudent marriage where the only passion they have is in their hyperfixations.

I don’t want Ted and Rebecca to end up alone, I don't think they will, but I've read some comments about interviews that are scaring me. I usually ask for more platonic relationships, I still truly believe that Holmes and Watson are one of the best representations of this (Elementary was great showing it). With Rebecca and Ted, tho? I believe they have strong platonic relationships already, Rebecca with Keeley and Ted with Beard, those are great relationships, pillars to them, they have other friends as well and people that care about them, including themselves. But both of them are searching for romantic love, this is something these characters want, it's not that they need it, they are both living well without it, but they are searching for it, they want a romantic partner to share their lives with, and it is not news.
Do they need to end up together? Well, no, they don't, but I think the show has told us that there's something there, they have seen each other at their lowest, they have helped each other to get over their exes, they are loyal to each other, they have changed each other, and I know that there's all that shit about the soulmatism of it all, and it is there, just I see it from a slightly different POV, like, they are not soulmates because they were born soulmates, they are soulmates because their lives to this point in time have mold them to be kind of perfect for each other, and not perfect in the "and they never struggle with anything ever again" kinda way, but perfect in the "oh, I think I can help you there, yeah, we can do this together" kinda way... like they have been doing. Ted has a panic attack, well, Rebecca has had them too so she immediately knows what is going on and how to help; Rebecca has gone a bit dark side and now is crawling back to the light, well, Ted knows how to forgive her and help her stand because he knows where she is coming from. They give each other space but also constant support, and they are the ones they ask for what they would not ask of others, Rebecca asks Ted to fight for her, this woman that has been fighting alone all her life, ask this man to do it for her, and he does it, in his own way, but he does it. Ted asks Rebecca for help in personal matters, Ted does not asks for help, that's one of the big things he had to learn how to do, and he asks her, and she does it, in her own way but she helps him. Yes... this could be pure friendship, but there are also friendships that add another aspect to them sometimes, and I think this could be one of those. Now, I know we have dutch guy going around, and Trent as well, these two could also work for the purpose of Rebecca and Ted not ending up alone, but I don't know dutch guy that much, so I'm not invested in that relationship at all. Trent is a different matter, I do care about him, and his happiness, and I do believe he has a crush on Ted, I just don't think Ted has one over him? Like I've read the fanfics and I love them, I just didn't interpret scenes in the same way many people have done it, like when Ted accepts Trent writing the book, the way I read that was this: Ted likes Trent, Ted knows Trent loves writing, he also knows Trent has been fired, fact over which I bet you all he had a bit of guilt over... it is Ted after all, Trent has a little kid that Ted knows, Trent is asking basically for a job opportunity here, Ted never ever was going to say no to that. I can roll with the takes that speak of love (romantic) here, I just don't think it's what the show is telling us? Course I could be wrong, but honestly, I don't think they have been building Ted/Trent as much as they've built Ted/Rebecca... which still can all be in the platonic side of things (I just hope it isn't). What I'm saying is... please don't send Ted back?! I know that he has helped the club, and the players, and Rebecca, and everyone, so some people are saying he is done with his work, it's time to go. But Ted is not a magical being, he is not Mary Poppins going back to whatever magical kingdom she lives in, he is human, with pains, traumas, loneliness, and so much fear, please, don't send him back, let him find a new home in Richmond, let him to form another piece to add at the shape of the family he has with Henry and Michelle, please, I'm beggin here!
The reason I speak first of both Ted and Rebecca, it's 1) because I want Rebecca to find the love she is looking for, 2) because I believe the only thing that could prevent Ted from going back to Kansas is if someone loved him as a partner, if someone wanted him to start a life together, any other kind of love he would think those people could get it from somebody else, but not romantic love, specially if it is someone he loves back, that would make him think, try to come out with an idea that could work for everyone, because as Ted has said, if he could do or say something that would make someone he loves happy, he would do it, and if that is for him to stay in Richmond... then he might start looking for ways to make everyone happy, including himself. And while Trent, the only other person that might be in love with Ted, we know, and we can trust, I do not trust dutch guy, we don't know him, and I don't want to leave Rebecca with someone we barely know.
This show started with Rebecca front and center, it's ending with Ted front and center. It seem's to me like the writers have put so many details hinting at them ending together, if they do not, I would need to start reading material about how the fuck to interpret media content!

Just saw your newest posts about Dan Vs so would you mind sharing those I need my daily dose
Of Dan Vs thoughts? Sure. Here's some random thoughts & hcs. got a little long oops (I can't remember how to do read more on mobile...)
- Mr. Mumbles is immortal. why? Who knows, but it's a silly cartoon so I get to hc the cute kitty as immortal, alright?
- I've seen ppl joke about dan vs """cancel culture""" but the thing is, I think he'd be all for it. I think he'd find it funny. I mean the dude has his own version of a call out list.
- Dan has hypermobility (1. He mentioned having a double jointed thumb 2. I have hypermobility and I say so)
- Chris is pansexual but doesn't realize it until later in life, he honestly had just not thought about it too hard & had only had a few relationships prior to getting married kinda young, all with women, until something leads to him realizing his feelings for Dan are not entirely platonic & it's just like. Oh.
- Dan on the other hand is pretty openly bisexual, he has a preference for men(projecting 🤪) but has (... slightly) better luck with women (men are more likely to want to kill him)
- something, that's not a life or death situation that gets magically reset, prompts Elise to tell Chris the truth about her job. because I hate the fucking person can't tell their partner they're a spy/agent/superhero/what the fuck ever trope it Feels Bad Scoob and Chris has expressed sometimes feeling a lack of communication between them in the show which ):
- speaking of Elise finds out Chris is part bear but in like the most casual way possible
Elise: I'm thinking of making Chris see a doctor, he gets sluggish and strangely irritable during winter months which makes me wonder if he might have seasonal depression.
Dan: nah, that's just the bear part of his DNA
Elise: the. the what.
- Dan and Elise both have C-PTSD (I don't think I have to explain why Dan does, Elise's is from basically being trained as a child soldier & just that she's likely experienced many traumatic things during her job), Elise copes with it mildly better than Dan but she's mostly just better at putting up a front of normality
- also Dan is obviously autistic. he's undiagnosed and doesn't realize until he's in his 20s or 30s. The discovery of noise cancelling headphones make his life a little bit easier
- Chris is also neurodivergent in some way but I haven't narrowed down the flavor yet 😭
- Dan is a trans man this is fact in my head I won't accept anything else, I have like tried to work out timelines and shit just to make it all fit within canon(yes I know most ppl just go screw canon but I just like making things work within it, I'm weird like that). I can't decide if he's had top surgery(post-job at the chicken place, hence the funny note about it) or he just naturally had a small chest and testeorone "masculinized"(for lack of a better word) it somewhat (cause I did prior to going on multiple medications that I could sometimes pass as having a flat chest). He doesn't want bottom surgery cause he doesn't see the point (slightly nsfw: "until they can give me synthetic semen and a prostate I'm not interested"). again mostly projecting there lmao
EDIT: in case this wasn't clear, I mean he sees no point in it for himself, not that he thinks nobody should have bottom surgery
- Dan is a closeted romantic. This is hinted at in canon imo, the thing with the anger management lady is clearly a metaphor for wanting more than a fling. Dan seems to take his romantic attraction to people very seriously, like with Hortence despite not interacting with her much. also his face when Honey kissed him. he's just secretly a big sap who wants to be loved
- Dan is a catboy in spirit. I say in spirit because he has no idea what a catboy is but he's just sooo kitty cat coded. knocks things off tables when annoyed. plays with toilet paper. claws and bites. I hc he meows as a stim with Mr. Mumbles sometimes. Also he hisses at people.
- I know what Chris said in the family cruise ep but I like to think Chris does actually think of Dan as family, mayhaps the holding out the hand scene was a acceptance or realisation of that, maybe that's what the thing he was going to say but forgot towards the end was. this isn't even really a buddyshipping thing it's just that me personally if my best friend didn't consider me family I'd want to jump off a cliff(/j) so I can't handle the thought (seriously though what was Chris going to say. It haunts me.)
- I'll end this on a fuzzy feelings self indulgent headcanon. Dan, Chris and Elise(+ Mr. Mumbles) become a weird little family of ther own. Dan and Elise are like frenemies, who share the same partner, but also deep down they care for each other. platonic love/hate relationship <3

🌙 Moon: Do any of your OCs have dark backstories or secrets they’re trying to keep hidden?

For the fall ask game :D
( @angsty-prompt-hole )
From the Fall-tastic Asks
@angsty-prompt-hole
🌙 Moon: Do any of your OCs have dark backstories or secrets they're trying to keep hidden?
But of course. (Content Advisory: passing mentions of natural disaster, death, murder, transphobia, scars, abusive parents/guardians, religious abuse, self-isolation/neglect)
Isaac: Saw his entire family killed and eaten by a werewolf. Said werewolf happens to be the patron of the department he devoted ten years of his life to. Carries the scars from this on his back along with a load of survivor's guilt/PTSD.
Renato: Grew up trans as the world was falling apart from a climate/magical cataclysm. Witnessed countless deaths, saw his own parents die as the ship they were on sank. Helped drown a man at 15 to protect his best friend, Oleander. Was manipulated into becoming a vampire and an agent for an oppressive organization by his sire/father figure.
Oleander: Also grew up trans as the world was falling apart from a climate/magical cataclysm, but it was made worse by her family being in an apocalyptic cult. Was forced into a conversion program when she confided having Gender Thoughts™ at 13 to her mother. Still bears a cross-shaped brand on the back of her right hand. Escaped and was adopted by the same vampire as Renato. Hunted down her remaining brothers and father after she turned. Regrets nothing.
Kinslayer: Had their soul mutilated by a god of light and order as part of an experiment to "help" humans. Is now the most powerful psychic vampire in the world, but is forever hungry and destined to self-destruct, taking the universe with them. Is on a quest to avert this fate, but time is running short.
Cassius Mergus: Was a middling vampire from the realm next door to Earth until he came to our world and started taking advantage of our limited magical knowledge. Befriended a brilliant alchemist, then murdered him to steal his idea of forming a network of supernatural cooperation. Turned said idea into an oppressive organization where he's at the top of the food chain. Recruited a ruthless necromancer, psychic vampire torturer, evil werewolf family, and *ahem* super cool poltergeist to aid him in his quest for power. Made infinitely worse by how Mergus is so damn likable in person.
🥧 Pie: Which of your characters takes care of the others around them? How do they take care of themselves?
Here's another area where Mergus excels, making him that much more effective at what he does. It's like he memorized the Evil Overlord Handbook. He treats all his subordinates so well that the majority blame themselves when/if he disposes of them. Mergus remembers their birthdays and children's names--and not even for nefarious purposes necessarily. He will use those bonds as leverage if need be, of course, but...he also does take a genuine interest in those around him, warped as it may be.
As for himself, Mergus enjoys nothing more than sitting by the fire in a cozy chair and discussing everything and nothing with a confidante. Who, these days, is usually his aide, Ayman. A human man who is honestly more like a platonic life partner at this point, and would gladly--maybe even eagerly--give his life for Mergus.
As for less villainous characters, Isaac is pretty good at going the extra mile for the people around him. When he's not, you know, isolating as a trauma response. He's definitely better at caring for others than he is for himself.
Ben Zebrowski, though, is a much more consistent example. This imposing vampire man with a foul-mouth and oft-broken nose sometimes gets called Babcia/Busia, Abuelita, Nana, or some other form of "Grandma" by the neighborhood (always behind his back, of course). The affectionately derogatory practice likely arose from a couple of things. 1) His go-to of feeding people, human or vampire, to show he cares. He practices cooking regularly in order to keep this habit up with the human side of that equation. 2) The fact he'll be deeply insulted if someone doesn't eat. Nobody makes this mistake twice. And 3) he will hound anyone who stubbornly tries to push themselves until they've submitted to being fussed over. Ben is Isaac's worst nightmare in this regard.
Despite some collective eyerolling, Ben's methods of caring have endeared him to his community. Thus, he never really wants for getting his simple needs met: blood, playing or watching some baseball with friends, and uhhhh lots of, shall we say, physical affection.

My brain has gone back to its usual bullshit, but now it's just focused around Aspect!Senju clan.
I don't even know where this idea came from, really, it just appeared magically in the hellish pit I call my subconscious.
But I just enjoy the idea weirdly enough.
Cuz on one hand, the idea that the Senju's make some of the raunchiest and most inappropriate jokes known to man kind, just because they actually find the concept of intercourse and being physically attracted to someone to the point you become physically warmer — Like your temperature is actually affected, a joke, is kinda funny to me.
On the other hand, it also makes me give the Senju's a more political or Platonic centered marriage practices. Cuz I do imagine they'd want to mitigate the problems that come with rushing into relationships in fear of being alone for the rest of your (relatively short shinobi or long farmer) life; So they instead make marriage laws, which dictates a Senju must first marry platonically, either being in a QPR or similarly committed friendship/platonic relationship. As, logically, if you're already planning your whole life with your best friend - then romance is but a bonus you can choose to have or not have.
Which leads me to my favorite personal hc, with Hashirama and Mito being platonic life partners, being in a QPR/Zucchinies, Chaotic Platonic Wife + tired platonic husband, all that sweet jazz.
But also Tobirama — because TobiIzu tends to be a staple with whoever gives me Naruto brain rot about the warring era; Just imagining that mess is amazing to me.
Tobirama strikes me a sx!positive and sx!favorable kind of aspect, but he just finds more interest in other things — primarily, he's probably be more interested in a political or Platonic marriage, and the whole romance bit would hit him out of nowhere because he's demi-romantic.
Hashirama strikes me as neutral, tbh — not for or against, to each their own but he doesn't have good conoctations with it still, because I feel like he'd abhore honeypots and they just feel like an unnecessarily messy chore to him.
Will not stop him from saying "Shouldn't you be off sucking dick?" To his brother whenever he starts annoying him — because you cannot convince me that these two don't have anger issues and that they don't constantly annoy each other.
To Mito, her boys are dumb but she needs to make sure they're okay.

Tuvok:
Tumblr media
Ok, first off: real world standards, he's not normal passing. Apart from the ears, he's just too autistic (sorry, "Vulcan" 🙄) to be considered "normal looking". He went to 1990s earth once and Did Not Pass as normal. But in universe, he would on the surface seem like a model Vulcan. And he is, kinda. But he's also so gd weird. (/aff)
Not even gonna get into how badly he wants to be Will Graham because obviously that's there too but we don't have all day. Anyway.
Obvs the emotions struggle is real as it is for any Vulcan worth paying attention to, if only because they were all only ever written by humans.
But also, tangential to him being Will Graham coded (but still separate enough) he is a total mind slut. You know how some characters will go "when I have a problem, I set it on fire" or shit like that? When Tuvok has a problem, he mind melds with it. Homoerotically if it's an option. Dude even got a mind std one time, despite the fact that's not even a thing.
And then whatever the fuck kinda thing he has going on with Janeway. Not even necessarily in a shippy way ("not romantic, not platonic, so devoted the lines blur") but like... not only is he unreasonably loyal to her but he does shit like not only letting her touch him whenever she wants but *deliberately offering her HIS HAND to hold* to comfort her when she needs it (reminder that hand touching is very intimate to Vulcans and can be likened to human kissing) and again, they're never even stated as romantic or anything, they're just friends and yet he is more loyal to her than he is to his own code of ethics.
Obviously part of all of it could be because Janeway (or possibly Kate Mulgrew) is simply Like That, she does do shit like tell her platonic subordinate "then be a good rat and find us the cheese" in a tone that makes me lose it, but it's not all her, Tuvok is also extremely not normal about it. I should submit Janeway too actually, I'll do her next.
Also, afaik Tuvok is the only crew member of Voyager (who makes it back) who had a romantic partner before the ship got lost in the Delta quadrant and remained loyal the entire seven years they were lost. I *think* Samantha Wildman also did but she's a minor character (so she could've been getting it off screen) and she started out pregnant so once born Naomi both kept her busy and was a living reminder of her husband's love. So in that regard, Tuvok is very much not normal but like in the most positive way. He literally didn't cheat on his wife even when his life was in danger (they *were* out there for seven years so of course he hit pon farr eventually) and I think that's really cool of him. But also very not normal.
I'm very tired rn but once the polls come out, simply check out the blog of Bea bumblingbabooshka (wanna clarify, I'm not him but he is THE Tuvok blogger in my opinion) who has written much on this already.
There's also the whole stuff that happened around his monestary era but I'm not even at that part yet but it must've been wild.
Anyway. Vote Tuvok

he can't remember the last time he slept. he hates himself so much he literally used mad science to create an entire ass guy to blame his problems on but accidentally made it so he can never be truly happy because uh oh! the silly magic mountain dew turned that into a man! now he can't fuck! whoa!

So, in part to get myself writing Regularly again (instead of in random spurts at Inconvenient Times like The Middle Of The Night or While I’m At Work), I’ve decided to do this OTP prompt list. And because Why Stop At One, I’m doing a few different sets? But limiting myself to one for each fandom/verse. Which are specifically going to be BSG, Star Wars, and my three primary original ‘verses. (While there are others I considered--including saying ‘well different eras in SW are kind of different fandoms’--five is a nice round number, so that’s where we’re headed.)
I already know who (and most of what) I’m doing for BSG; Star Wars I’m either doing Anidala or Obianidala; but for my original stuff I haven’t settled, and so I am seeking Opinions! (Also still seeking opinions on SWBB, but I’m currently leaning towards option 2 there, based on feedback I’ve had so far)
List is below, with additional details (for those of you who are unfamiliar) behind the cut.
Farglass Cycle:
Taz/Dallu
Nolani/Lonura
Sorell/Nida
Kesshare/Ineku(?)
Deshell/Fesha
Lux:
Lux/Mariko
Simon/Ruth
Al/Laura
Tsuna/Evan
Go platonic with the Horsemen
Untitled Intrigues Story:
Sef/Del and Sef/Tahnrin
Larien/Metanrye
Ahnrel/Kamer
The Farglass Cycle is a swords-and-sorcery type more or less traditional fantasy; the time period I mostly write in (and from which all these characters come) is centered around a war between Feredar (and its allies) and a coalition of other nations, the most prominent of which are the City of Glass, Asendar, and the Islands. The magic system is based on elements (water, fire, air, earth, lightning/magnetism, metal, sound, and blood). The level of tech is probably comparable to the 16th century. Feredar is the bad guy here, although the crown princess of Glass probably would be in another version of this story.
Taz/Dallu
Taz Hantree is a Captain from the Islands. Sometimes a pirate, sometimes a legitimate merchant; she smuggles things (and people) in and out of Feredar; one of the main characters. She is also kind of a chaos gremlin (it’s the Pirate Captain in her XD) and also a water-mage.
Dallu is her partner and navigator; he comes from the North, which has a longstanding relationship with the Islands. He’s a lightning-mage, and can therefore read and manipulate weather. Generally a pretty chill dude.
Nolani/Lonura
Nolani is the eldest daughter of the Crown Princess of Glass. She’s very close to her younger siblings, especially her brother. Kind of a Mom Friend at heart; also a hopeless romantic. She has a string of generally brief relationships during her wildfire years, eventually settling with Lonura. Like all members of the Glass royal family, she is a fire-mage.
Lonura is a noble from one of the mountain borders of Glass. She’s a sound-mage, and has been hopelessly in love with Nolani for a while. She tends to be a fairly quiet person, more content with backing people who are in the spotlight than being in the spotlight herself.
Sorell/Nida
Sorell is the King of Feredar when the story opens. He’s generally the lesser of two evils when compared with his eldest son, but when you’re comparing a guy to a genocidal warlord, that’s. Not saying much. In his personal life/with his family, he’s generally a decent man. Very devoted to his wife and children; he came to the throne after his parents and four older brothers were assassinated when he was fifteen.
Nida was initially sent to seduce and marry Sorell by her mother, who is heavily involved in resisting the structural problems that later allow Kellom to do what he does. As is often the case, she falls for her own honey trap, and ends up balking when asked to murder her husband after their fifth child/second son is born.
Kesshare/Ineku
There is a question mark on this one for a reason.
Kesshare is the Crown Princess of Glass (again, would be the villain in another story). She is an extremely self-aware sociopath. She’s incapable of empathy or love, but she’s aware of it and makes sure to compensate in the areas where it matters (with her husband, with her children). She married someone who would make up for that and be a better parent than she’s capable of, and she made it very clear that she would never love him. That being said, their relationship is a close one, and one of the longest and most successful in the story.
Ineku is from a merchant clan, and a non-mage. He’s a doctor by training, and loves Kesshare, knowing full well who and what she is. He spends a lot of time with their children, and is just...a very kind person; also not afraid to tell Kesshare when she’s crossing a line (which, to be fair, is part of what she wants from him, so).
Deshell/Fesha
These two are minor characters, involved with the serial killer sideplot.
Deshell is investigating the murders, and eventually mayor of the Asendar port town he lives in. He and Fesha are the other very long and successful relationship in this canon; while they do have a period where they almost fall apart, but they work through it Like Adults.
Fesha is a nurse, she met Deshell when she was working for her uncle. They have two biological sons and one adopted--a street kid who witnessed one of the serial killer’s murders. Deshell didn’t exactly Ask before bringing the kid home, which Fesha wasn’t thrilled with (the not-asking, not the bringing the kid home). But, again, they worked through their communication issues and had a long and happy relationship after that.
Lux is basically the Apocalypse In SPACE.
Lux/Mariko
Lux is Lucifer. That’s...yep, she’s Lucifer. Currently presenting as female (angels have a different relationship to gender than humans do); she was freed from her prison before she was ready, kicking off the Apocalypse. Did not intend to have Feelings for her human and yet.
Mariko is a human translator; she met Lux when she was working for the human/earth delegation to the Space UN, and fell in love with her there. Things went very far south when Lux located the people who had raised her (the reason she was on the station in the first place) and murdered them; Mariko walked in on this; there was fire involved and Mariko was badly burned; and then they don’t see each other for ten years. Lux came clean when they reunited, and they slowly rebuild their relationship from there.
Simon/Ruth
Simon is immortal. Technically a nephil, though he almost never knows that. His memories get periodically erased by the angels for reasons that made sense at the beginning, but make less and less sense as time goes on. When he met Ruth, he was in a fairly blank state, and had been given the name David Gilboa; he had his name and he was working as a math teacher.
Ruth met Simon, then known as David, when they were set up by a mutual friend. It was a kind of awkward first blind date--a lot of the usual questions get Awkward when the person you’re meeting only has four years’ worth of personal memories--but there was enough of a connection that she agreed to a second. They built a life together, and got married. When he was pulled away/had his memory erased again by the angels, she was pregnant, and had a son. Their relationship is generally pretty sweet and low-key until it’s Tragic (there is an AU where he contacts her again once he remembers her; but in canon he decided it was kinder to her to stay away, rather than risk being pulled away again, especially since she’d had ten years to grieve him at that point).
Al/Laura
Alejandro is the head of the Family, descendants of Simon and Ruth’s son, who keep track of the angels and whatever information they can find about the Apocalypse and their role in it (all the major human characters come from the Family, they know that much). Roughly a thousand years later, there are Many cousins to keep track of, some who barely even really count as related.
Laura is a reporter; she’s not part of the Family. Her father was a diplomat, so when Al read her in on some of the more. Uh. Supernatural aspects of what it is he does, she took it fairly well. They get married, and have a couple kids and grandkids. She’s actually working on a story on the CSP (Space UN) station when Lux sets it on fire. When Al is later abducted by the Horsemen, she more or less bullies an angel into helping her track him down. Not someone to be trifled with.
Tsuna/Evan
Mariko’s parents.
Tsuna is a retired professional ballerina, and now a ballet teacher.
Evan is an accountant.
There’s...not all that much else to say about them, lol. They’re fairly normal. They met when the company he was working for--a toy company--did a benefit featuring the Nutcracker as performed by Tsuna’s ballet company. His long-time best friend and sister in all but blood Cecily worked in marketing at the same company and dragged him along, and they’ve been together ever since.
Go platonic with the Horsemen
Kind of four sisters, kind of three women coparenting a twelve-year-old. All are part of the Family.
Rubika (Death) is in her mid-twenties when they’re activated; she’s the nominal leader of the group. She worked for the Family as a messenger (gathering and distributing news of births/marriages/deaths/etc.) Her mother is a farmer on Charon. It was her idea to kidnap Al.
Shane (Famine) is in her eighties or nineties when they’re activated. She was married once. The marriage ended in divorce when Alex cheated on her. She’s the only one of the Horsemen who met Simon before they were activated, on a couple of different occasions.
Dimana (War) is in her forties when they’re activated, a con artist and professional gambler. She thrives on competition, and has absolutely zero shame about the life she’s chosen to live.
Imi (Pestilence) is about twelve when they’re activated. Her father was part of the Family, but died while her mother was pregnant. She was raised by her mother and grandparents, who hated each other. When her mother died, her grandparents weren’t interested in keeping her, and she was brought (by Rubika) to stay with one of her father’s distant cousins.
Untitled Intrigues Story is a hard-fantasy political intrigues story. Two of the most powerful nations on the map, Elanhe and Nandere, have a history of rivalry, occasionally breaking out into war. Thirty-five/forty years before the story begins, the High Priest at the time brokered an uneasy peace between them. As part of that peace, the sister of the King of Elanhe married the King of Nandere, and the sister of the King of Nandere married the King of Elanhe. While this treaty did more or less stop the open war, it didn’t really do much to ease the tension between the two kingdoms. In the present, the Kings from the original treaty have both died within about six months of each other. Their respective eldest sons, Malue of Nandere and Larien of Elanhe, have inherited. The current High Priest, Jemairin, has sent his children to try and maintain and strengthen the peace before it collapses completely, which is considered Likely without further intervention. His eldest, Ahnrel, is sent as envoy to Nandere; his second, Sefalin, is sent as envoy to Elanhe; and his youngest, Neiali, is sent to track down Larien’s full brother Idan, who befriended Malue when they were children, but disappeared a few years before the story proper opens.
Sef/Del and Sef/Tahnrin
So this isn’t technically an OTP. It’s also not really an OT3. It’s a vee, not a triad, in part because the metamours are, in fact, related.
Sefalin is, as mentioned above, the middle child of the High Priest (priests in this world are allowed to have children but not married; they’re not supposed to have relationships that can compete with their relationships to the church or the gods; and while your kids are always your kids, the time period when that is a Primary relationship is at least in theory by its nature finite, children grow up and have their own lives; not so much with a spouse). He’s fairly good with nuance, but also tends to sort of...get swept along by events, and while he is mindful of his primary mission here, he’s gotten as much involved in helping to balance Elanhe’s internal politics as keeping Larien from escalating things with Nandere.
Landelye is the elder daughter of King Larien. Women in Elanhe are not allowed to inherit titles, but since her father has no sons and his legitimate brother is missing, there’s a chance the rules might be changed for her. She’s serious, and a little devious; she set out to seduce Sefalin to get him on her side, but she found out he was charming and funny and oh no I have a problem. She loves him enough to be willing to share him, which brings us to...
Tahnrin is Larien’s bastard half-brother. He’s the other primary candidate to be declared Larien’s heir in Idan’s absence, and is fighting a war of intrigue with his niece accordingly. He was initially interested in Sef for the same reasons Del is--and fell into the same trap she did.
Sef is very careful to balance his relationships with his lovers; he loves them both, and even if he wanted to choose between them, he’s aware that that would have political as well as personal consequences, and if he help keep them balanced and prevent Elanhe from spiraling into a civil war...well, that can only be a good thing, right?
Larien/Metanrye
Larien is, as mentioned, the King of Elanhe. He’s a subtle and dangerous man; he’s not going to start a war (that would cost him more than it would gain him) but he is damned well going to win it if his cousin of Nandere causes Problems. Probably the only impulsive, non-calculated thing he’s ever done was marry Metanrye, when they were both teenagers. And even that, he weighed the costs and benefits before doing it. He does love her, truly, and while they’ve occasionally engaged in some bedroom diplomacy (not an uncommon practice in Elanhe), he’s extremely loyal to her. They have two daughters, and she can’t have more children; but the idea of divorcing her in hopes of having a legitimate son bothers him more than upending centuries of law and tradition to name either Del or Tahnrin as his heir.
Metanrye is a firmly--almost ruthlessly--practical woman. She loves her husband deeply, and has from the moment they met. She was not expecting him to marry her. Very Elanhean, very used to wielding subtle power in the background, she is completely behind her husband in public, but willing to argue or influence him in private. She’s hoping he’ll name her daughter as his heir, of course, but is staying on the fringes of that contest.
Ahnrel/Kamer
Ahnrel is Jemairin’s oldest, and sent to Nandere. He’s much more straightforward than his brother. He tends to dive into problems and work them out as he goes, and is doing his best to moderate that tendency/wait to act until he has all the information he needs so he can fulfill his half of the deal and maintain the peace. Nanderese politics are--at least on the surface--much more straightforward than what’s going on in Elanhe; Malue is unmarried and has his younger brother for his heir.
Kamer is a palace guard, assigned to guide and protect Ahnrel. Kamer is a fairly rigid person, almost painfully upright and devoted to his duty, which currently is both to Ahnrel and to Nandere, and he’ll protect them both from everything he can. Including his own, increasingly intense feelings for the envoy.

Showing the Good of/Redeeming the Horde, Several Pieces at a time
Lady Liadrin: After the Fall of Quel'thalas, Liadrin was forced to kill her now Scourge adoptive father, Vandellor (seen in Bastion). This, combined with the already present stress of the Fall itself, causes her to fall into survivors guilt and bloodlust. If you had watched your friends die painfully and then been forced to murder the man who you would have died alone without, wouldn't you do the same? She is abandoned by the Light in her moment of need and, because of this, lashes out at M'uru, draining the Naaru of it's power and taking Astalor's offer. She does this in anger, and regrets it immensely. She has since rejoined the real Light, being forgiven by the main thing she has wronged. If it can forgive her, so can you.
Grand Magister Rommath: I could go on for days about Rommath, and I probably will. If you've ever been in an abusive relationship, be it romantic, platonic, queerplatonic, familial or any other kind, you know how incredibly difficult it is to get out. You think what you're doing is right. I mean, they can't be that bad, they're your partner in crime! The one you rely on! They're your friend! But they aren't your friend. You're being lied to. For you, it could have been them making you drink more alcohol until you depended on it and they were your best supplier. For me, he (my online best friend) cut me off from most real life socialization, isolating me and making me dependent on him for any social stimulation. For Rommath, it was the Fel. We know that Fel magic is highly addictive. We know that most Sin'dorei are getting a highly filtered version of it that is considerably safer to consume than raw Fel magic. We know that Rommath and Kael'thas are two of the only exceptions. We know that it quite literally drove Kael'thas to going insane and harming his friends.
Imagine being in Rommath's situation. Completely dependent on the now somewhat insane Kael for Fel magic, which you would die without, seeing Kael fall apart. You've been friends (maybe more) for more than most mortals are even alive. You stick around because you can help him. In this action, you throw yourself right into Sargeras' line of fire. You're no longer just dependent on magic, no no no. You're dependent on Fel magic. The edges of your razor sharp psyche begin to break apart, remaining sharp enough to cut diamond, but no longer in the way that a knife is. It's more like the violently shattered glass of the mirror you punched when you realized that your once blue eyes were blazing lime green and brighter than fire. You can see that you're not ok. You can see that it's slowly starting to change you. It changes your mind, bringing the rage further up. It changes your body. You look pale and tired in those shards of mirror on the floor.
But you can't leave. If you leave, he'll die. It'll be all your fault. You keep going. Further away from the light. Further away from the Arcane magic you held so dear. All you have is Kael. All you have is Kael and pure, unadulterated fury.
Can they really blame you for using that fury to try and save your people?

OC Profile - Saoirse
I will not stop posting about her.
Tumblr media
General:
Name: Saoirse
Aliases: - She’s had so many over the years. She learned early on to never use the same fake name for two different scams, because it tends to draw suspicion. Her current one, which she uses with Lohse when she can be convinced to run a job, is Madame Collete Cringleberry De Peeb. Wife to Madame Josephine Gribbles De Peeb.
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Age: 33
Birthdate: Late Spring, 1209 Anno Deorum
Zodiac: Probably Gemini, or maybe Taurus depending on what “late spring” exactly means in Rivellon.
Place of Birth: Westport. A tiny, dreary, impoverished fishing village.
Sexual preference: Lesbian
Occupation: Con artist/grifter/thief
Appearance:
Eye colour: Brown
Hair colour: Dark Brown
Height: 5′8/1.72m
Weight: How rude of you to ask! (158 lbs/72kg)
Scars: None worth mentioning. Just a few tiny scrapes on her legs and torso from accidents and incidents. Mostly while running from the law.
Favourite:
Colour: Purple. The color of wealth and royalty.
Hair colour: Strong preference for redheads.
Songs: “Star of the County Down” and other traditional drinking songs with a catchy melody and strong beat.
Food: Hearty stews, roasted vegetables, fresh bread still hot from the oven.
Drink: Coffee, orange juice, and a good ale.
Have They?:
Passed university: While they do exist in Rivellon, she has never attended one. She has, however, robbed one.
Had sex: Yes
Had sex in public: Nope.
Gotten pregnant: No
Kissed a boy: Three times in her life. One was platonic, another was a distraction during a job gone wrong, and the third was when she was quite young and was still figuring herself out.
Kissed a girl: Many times.
Got tattoos: No, she’s too much of a wimp around needles. Especially the kind of needles that have to be tapped into the skin multiple times.
Got piercings: Had she stayed in her home village for any longer, she might have gotten her ears pierced. But that was also a custom to show that a young woman had reached the age of marriage, and was available to any interested young man. So she naturally had no interest in doing such a thing.
Been in love: Yes
Stayed up for more than 24 hours: Several times, especially when she needed to stay awake and keep watch over a haul of cash from a successful job.
Are They?:
A virgin: 100% not.
A cuddler: Usually no, but she can be convinced to cuddle with the right person.
A kisser: Totally. Even platonic kisses.
Scared easily: Not really. Her life has been so weird and so full of close calls that she tends to brush things off that would terrify many others.
Jealous easily: Not usually.
Dominant/Submissive: It depends on the partner and the mood. She can switch.
In love: Currently, yes.
Single: Currently, no.
Random Questions (TW Self Harm/Suicide):
Have they harmed themselves: Not intentionally
Thought of suicide: Not seriously. There have been a few times while on the run from the law she considered a glorious final stand, but it was more for entertainment than harm.
Attempted suicide: Nope.
Wanted to kill someone: Oh many times. And some of them have died either at the end of her arrow, or from Ham Samich’s claws.
Have/had a job: Heavens, no! And hopefully she will never demean herself to get one.
Have any fears: Mostly sensible ones, like being caught while doing a scam. Or of the consequences of her own actions coming to bite her in the ass.
Family?:
Siblings: None.
Parents: As far as she knows, her parents are alive and well back home, but she doesn’t care to find out for sure. Because she wants to leave everything of that little fishing village behind.
Children: None, and she’s not in a hurry to adopt any
Significant other: Lohse
Pets: Does a magical creature that stands no higher than her waist, covered in spines, has razor sharp teeth and claws, and constantly gibbers with manic energy qualify as a pet? Fortunately, Ham Samich does not require food, sleep, or other creature comforts that a normal pet does.

Note
Hey, I’m not sure how to explain this but getting straight to the point, I’m the person who runs the yandere-linked-universe blog and I’m pretty sure you’re pinkittwice.
So, I was just wondering what ideas you might have about the chain being yandere for one person. Like, what would the dynamic be and how they would behave as yanderes, you know that kind of stuff.
I hope it’s not too much to ask but I’m just curious to see what you might think of it since you’re pretty much the only person on the sight that I know of who also writes things involving lu and the reader. I’m not unhappy or dissatisfied in any way but it does get a little lonely being the only person who writes stuff like this. Sorry if this is too weird.
Masterlist
Yahaha~! You found me!
Everybody go check out their stuff @yandere-linked-universe
They do cool art sometimes and are even writing a whole fic which you can find right here.
It's really well written and I'm excited to see how the story progresses and where it goes- especially endgame.
And I'm assuming the ask means if they were yandere in the same circumstance than in the story.
That being said, I'm still going to apply the rules I have set for the Links. Like how Sky was never with his Zelda and similarly how Time and Malon never really happened. As for Wind, he will not be platonic unlike in the fic mentioned above- I will explain this in his section I promise.
Also, disclaimer, I'm not good at horror and I've never written for these types of characters before. But if you want headcanons then I'll provide the brainstorm that I've been cooking up of ever since I got this ask. (And it was a while ago I'm sorry for the wait.)
I'm also including some songs that I think best fit their rose tinted glasses ideal. Not necessarily yandere and can apply to Link being in love with you in general but it's as close as I'm going to get to making a playlist.
I might come back and change them to stalker songs and add these songs to a separate list entirely but maybe not...
Content under the cut!
It's long, brace yourself.
As a group, I think jealously would run high.
Everybody wants the attention of a single person and there's eight other people as competition.
If the group was tight knit as we like to portray them, it won't last long.
If dear reader was a little caring or naturally falls into a healer/medic position in the group, the group becomes more reckless, less caring about their personal safety- if only to get a momentary caress from the love of their life's fingers as their wounds are tended to.
There's less group unity and alliances between them form.
If the reader isn't a fighter well...
They would take turns guarding their prize and fight to be the one to do it.
Leaving you behind when they go to dungeons is a must.
They won't risk you getting a scratch on your person let alone putting you in a potentially dangerous situation.
They try to keep all their weapons away and out of reach. Less you get any ideas and try to fight with them or worse, get hurt playing with them.
Or try to fight against them. HAHAHAHA!! How crazy would that be?
Like you would stand a chance.
When you're simply traveling with the group, your designated spot is on top of Epona, hands down, no questions asked.
Not only would be easier to keep an eye on you, and make it harder to get away, but Twilight has personally asked Epona (through Wolfie) that if they were ever ambushed, she was to take off with you and get away from the fight no matter the cost. She'll always come back to him anyway- so if you're tied to connected to her than all the more reason for him to be the one to retrieve you when it's all over.
The others don't like how Twilight gets to be the one to greet you first. But Epona is on Twilight's side and everyone knows it.
So they wait their turn.
You're on top of Epona even if you're a fighter as well.
If you can prove your salt and fight with them, they actually don't try to keep you away as much as they can (because now it means that they can spend more time with you!)
It instead becomes a competition to be your partner. Among the younger ones anyway.
The older ones, are less concerned now by you fighting, and more by the younger ones who keep trying to be by your side (even if that's their spot) and try to keep them out of your way.
Every bump and cut you get is treated immediately by who ever reaches you first.
It's once again a race.
The group, as yandere's go, do not know how annoying they're being nor do they plan to stop.
If you told stories of your past conquests, it a mixed bag of awe, adoration and anger for you even being put there to begin with. These thoughts are not voiced however, and they instead stew and simmer and grow into their possessive tendencies.
Because they would protect you, honor you, worship you and you wouldn't have to worry about anything ever again. Not if you were with them, not if you stayed with them, not if you were in their Hyrule.
There's a slight knee jerk reaction when you bring out your items to take it away because it's dangerous. But not only would that piss you off, it would take away what little protection you have on your person and they don't want to take any risks when it comes to your safety.
I wouldn't share too much if I were you.
youtube
Now as Individuals they're all different, obviously.
Let's explore that.
Time
He's the most dangerous
I'm starting this off with that
I'm talking the most calculating, scheming and devious of the whole group
He know he's in charge and that the others will listen to him regardless if they actually agree with him or not
Because he's the leader
His grip on the group lessens as time goes by and their unity dissipates
But he's delusional and he doesn't realize it
However, because he's already in this position, he takes it upon himself to take care of you
And others let him
Less work for them to focus on when they can be by your side instead
You never have watch
You're always in the middle of the group
He'd gladly send the boys ahead of you into danger to make sure that they deal with it before you even get there.
The others let him with little thought because it's for you
So they go for it
Time however, is somehow, never the one to go ahead, instead waiting behind (with you) while they go ahead and deal with the issue
He gets away with this 8/10 times
Mostly because he rotates who's he's sacrificing
Dad! Time is not here- not anymore
But he lets them near you because he's only biding his time
You're meant to be
Soulmates, if you will
If a little time with you is all those boys need to stay in line and listen to him then he'll allow it
Because they're only boys
He's a man through and through
They have nothing on him
And you deserve more than a mere boy
He has some other concerns on his mind while the boys fight each other like street dogs
Time has to think about your future together so he daydreams the most out of the group.
He doesn't really have a home and a roof over his head for himself- let alone you and he knows he'd have to change that
He thinks about staying as a permanent employee at Lon Lon Ranch
He can save enough money
Buy a house
Maybe some land
And enough things for you and him to make a comfortable life without any worries
Maybe even start a family?
The dream is a reprieve form the headache that are other boys who won't leave you alone
Pray you don't end up in his Hyrule
EVER
This is just the gateway he'd be waiting for to keep you all to himself
Fighter or not it's dangerous to travel with them
You're in danger
And he won't stand for that.
He doesn't know how exactly he'd do it
But he plans to leave you at Lon Lon Ranch, waiting for him, for when he comes back after the mission
He'd have to find some kind of way to actually keep you there and find you when you inevitably try to leave the Ranch
But he's traveled all over his Hyrule
There's no place you could go that he doesn't know about
As the adult of the group, he'd step over all the others
He's not going to listen to them when they try to stop him
They don't know as much as he does
They haven't experienced as much as he has
He knows that this is the best and only option to ensure that you're safe and well taken care of
He'd doesn't mind leaving you as prisoner to the Gerudo instead either if the others start to really get pushy
It won't be comfortable and it won't be glamorous
But they'll definitely keep you in one place
And he can walk in whenever he wanted thanks to that note from the chief from a time long ago
Pick you up, take you away and you'll be his
He daydreams a lot
And he knows that you'll choose him
You have to
He's the best and only option
He's never felt happier thinking about you and the life you'll both have
He's struggled so much anyway
Maybe you were the blessing the goddesses owed him for all his work in his youth
And surely they aren't so cruel to give you to him and then take you away by some monster attack or some terrible unforeseen fate
He can't have that either
So he'll take the first and best out he's given
But while you're here with him...
He's looking at you like you're magic
youtube
Warrior
Warrior is the least dangerous
He knows the feel of being on the receiving side of someone's obsession
He was ignorant for a long time about it
But he wasn't sure how to feel comfortable in his own skin again when he found out about it
He can see how the others are starting to show similar obsessive tendencies and tries to mitigate what he can
He does a lot of damage control
It's what he's trying to do anyway- he's not very successful
Warrior is the one who's challenging their train of thought
Why do they think this is ok? Why don't they ask you for your opinion? Why do they not give some time alone to recharge? Why don't they lay off?
Because it's totally for your benefit- AND THEIRS
Because it's not ok
He doesn't see himself follow the exactly same train of thought
He doesn't see himself doing what they're doing
He's just annoyed that they're the ones doing it
Warrior becomes the very definition of hypocrite.
However- because he's the one acting as your advocate- the others don't consider him as much as a threat and therefore more inclined to listen to him at this point in time than Time himself
It also means that they don't fight him as much when he wants time with you. Mostly because in their eyes, he's not interested
They're wrong
At some point in Warrior's attempt to keep the group together and keep you from going crazy or hating all of them, he begins to gain ulterior motives in his mission
He begins to play the role in an attempt to win you over.
Because- see, he's not like them
He won't violate your space
Go through your stuff
Or keep you from doing what you love
He's the one to say you should join them in fights, that you should stay, that you can hold your own
Since he's the main strategist in the group, he takes into account your skills and always places you at a distance from the fight or from the most obsessive the group.
He knows that their one track mind could kill you or them and there's still the darkness to defeat.
They don't have the luxury to afford this kind of distractions
When the others aren't paying attention to him, he'd pepper you with compliments and flirty lines, playing up his charm and suave attitude
He becomes the perfect gentleman
You'd never know that he's crazy
Just join him and be with him- that's all he wants
He loves you so what more is there to offer you?
He's got the status, the looks and the means to take care of you so you wouldn't have to worry about anything else
He'd be the best husband that Hyrule has ever seen
He'd hate to have the group scare you off with how over the top they've all been.
He knows the group is being annoying with being by your side all the time and how they don't let you be and how there's always someone by your side even when you're at your final straw
Warrior is the one who takes over guarding you when you need to pee or bath and actively argues on your behalf to let you take care of your hygiene.
He's not always successful but it's the thought that counts right?
Hyrule agrees with him most of the time and since Hyrule seems to be the only one who still cares (somewhat) about the mission, they make an agreement
Warrior isn't at all concerned about the others and know that you'd come around to him eventually.
Since he's not like the others
You're his first thought in the morning, his last thought when he rests his head to sleep and there's nothing that he hasn't been doing that wasn't for you
youtube
Hyrule
Hyrule is the least possessive
Mostly because of his low confidence.
I've mentioned in a previous post that is unrelated to this, his love language is physical touch- so he's all over you
There always have to be some way that he's holding you- whether its a hand on your shoulder or the small of your back, maybe he's holding your hand or maybe he's just pinched the edge of your tunic
But he's careful to not go beyond what you're comfortable with
He doesn't want to you to pull away from him
Because the others will not hesitate to push and pull him away if you so much as hinted at not wanting him near you
So he plays it cool
Hyrule also gets concerned when there's too many injuries to go around and he needs to heal the group
Because if you hurt then he can't spare anything else to help you
It's one of the few things he thinks that he's useful for- so if he can't do this little thing for you then why does he bother?
There's so many other guys here that could easily sweep you off of your feet and have so much more to offer you
He doesn't have any land
He doesn't have a house
His Hyrule... isn't the most welcoming and he doesn't like the idea of bringing you from one dangerous situation to another
Especially since he's being hunted for sport back home
It doesn't stop him from trying to win your heart obviously and he tries to show you and win you over in whatever little ways he can.
He's the gentlest with you
Whatever hurting you, he'll heal
Whatever scaring you, he'll deal with
Whatever danger comes your way, he'll end it's miserable existence
He- like Time- daydreams a lot but he's trying to live for the moment
He's almost resigned in a way- that you won't pick him
He knows they're on borrowed time, he knows that something dangerous can take you away from them or that he could be the one to be taken away instead
So he's trying to make up for it in the time that you do have together and spend every second by your side that he can
Because the group gets a little more reckless in their attempts to impress you and be dealt with (whether you're healing them and tending to their wounds or just yelling at them)
He heals the group a lot little less
If they're going to be stupid and get hurt- then he's not going to waste his magic when they're only going to do the same thing the next day
Soon, with enough time and patience, Hyrule begins to hoard all the healing potions as well.
It's an attempt to keep them away from you so when they're hurt he can step in and just get them healed up in a minute
But it also works to keep the group from getting too reckless
It's not his intention but he takes it as it is
If they get hurt too much anyway then that just means less competition for him to deal with and a higher chance with you!
Because of his low confidence about you actually ending up with him, he becomes one of the more mission minded of the group, probably right after Warrior
Since they both have their sights on eradicating the darkness instead of focusing on their love lives (for different reasons) this is the first alliance to be formed
Hyrule wants you to be his but he's at a crossroad
He knows Warrior has a lot of charm to win you over and has the means to make sure you live a good life
He knows it's more than he can ever give you
But he's fairly certain he can take Warrior in a fight
One well timed Thunder Strike and Warrior wouldn't stand a chance
Not to mention that they've been fighting side by side now, so he knows what to look for to bring him down
He doesn't think it'll come to that though
Warrior doesn't seem that interested with you anyway so he doesn't worry about him
Which just leaves the problem of winning your heart
He wonders what life would be like he can love like you do
youtube
Twilight
Twilight is the most protective
It's his wolf instincts and his caretaker instincts combined.
He's used to being the one to look after everyone else
Being his village's primary babysitter and all
But wolves are family animals and they protect their mates
He's the one to fight to keep you away from the fights, whether you can handle yourself or not
He can Four agree with this and it's the second alliance that forms
You must be protected at all costs and there's many things around that can injure you, or worse
So they both try their hardest to keep you safe and secure
If bubble wrap existed in Hyrule you would have been wrapped in it and then wrapped again for good measure.
He's the first to run up to you and the first to drag over Hyrule or someone with a fairy or a potion to treat you
He's not afraid to start punching anything that dares to threaten you
Forget the sword
He'll just start swinging... or maybe just go full Woflie even if he's not in his form and go for the jugular
He lets you ride on Epona more often than not and refuses to let you work more than you should
He's quick to carry things for you
He tries to impress you by being a handy man and tries to fix whatever he can get his hands on for you
He's not good at it
But he tries
His love language is acts of service so he's trying
You don't really need his help though
But let him get it out
And tell him that he's doing a good job please, for your sake
He talks a lot about his home life with you and he ask a lot of questions about your own
He's comparing notes
Trying to see what way of life you'd be more comfortable with and how he can accommodate to it
He tries to win you over with the simple life and he paints pretty pictures of having a ranch and a farm and letting you have all and any animals you want
Wolfie make an appearance every other day instead of simply whenever it's convenient
If you're a dog lover then it's even better.
Twilight is not afraid of taking advantage of it to give you all the kisses and cuddles he can get away in his other form
The others would have to fight the each other just to get kisses from you but Wolfie gets special privilege's
He gets kisses no problem
He's not above using it to his advantage
Epona is always on Twilight side and while he's in wolf form, he tells her all about you and how much he loves you and all the ways he finds you amazing and spectacular
Because you're riding Epona more often than not, he tells her to watch after you and to keep your safe and to get to a safe area if they ever get ambushed
She doesn't know how human romance works, so she agrees.
Link is her master and her best friend, so she trusts him with her life and you're important to him, clearly, so you're important to her too
He's not going to lose you like he lost Midna
She left him behind with barely a glance behind
You won't leave him at all
He'll make sure of it
The others won't take you away from him either
Four seems to be the one who's most on his side right now and together they can lessen the competition
He'd hate to fight the guy and maybe they can come to an understanding but he knows he's got the brute strength that Four lacks not to mention Wolfie and Epona as well
So maybe he'll listen to reason
His world used to be so grey with no change in either direction
An eternal twilight
You became his light in the gloom
youtube
Sky
Sky is the least violent
He actually falls in the middle of both protectiveness and jealousy.
But he's more set on letting each of the boy pick each other off (not unlike Time) and then he'll figure out who's left over to deal with them then.
Sky also isn't one to fight off the other people who you interact with
He's not going to go confront the person or drag you away and definitely not going to start swinging
He still feels uncomfortable if you aren't by his side but he'll make up for it when you're done by sticking to your hip
Sky doesn't want you to feel cramped by only talking to the group
But he does get a little jumpy when you're beyond his line of sight.
That being said- he will let you out of his sight
Not for long periods of time, mind you, but he's not going to be in your shadow the entire time or demand to be glued to your hip
He's arguably the most normal out of the group- the least yandere if you will
Still crazy though
Sky is also one to agree with Warrior and Twilight.
He's not a part of any alliance but between wanting you to be safe and still wanting you to be healthy and clean (he knows how being clean helps out ones moral and he doesn't want you to be depressed when you're with them) he'd let them do the fighting and arguing for him and when they lose a bit, he'll say something and add to their cause
He's trying to be chill and he plays on his harp when you're nearby.
If you come sit next him to listen and chill- he will absolutely be over the moon
He will go through some of your things to make sure you have anything and everything you'd need for their adventure
But he won't take away your weapons or go through your diary (he wouldn't be able to read it anyway)
He does try to ask you in some roundabout way if he has permission to do that.
It'll be long winded and vague and a total play on words, so be careful to what you agree with when he asks something of you
Sky although is the least violent, that's in regards to other humans
Monsters have learned to keep away from him when he's on the battle field and if they haven't learned that...
They will
He's the one that tries to have your relationship mature and grow naturally.
Sky is going to simply be your friend first and show you that he has your best interest at heart
So when you talk to him about your problems and how the others are driving you crazy, he'll give you advice, tell you he's on your side and openly give you outs to avoid the others.
If you want time alone and the others begin looking for you, he'll tell them you went in the other direction and he'll send them on a wild goose chase.
Since he's on your side, he tells you to at least let him know where you're going and for how long so he can distract the others.
He's not concerned about you running away, since the others are going to do the work for him
Four and Twilight and Wolfie can find and hunt you down in a heart beat and you'll be together again
He won't blame you for running away, there's a lot of people who won't leave you alone in the group and it annoys him too
And Hyrule, Wind and Time keep you within the group and close by so he never has to worry about not knowing where you are at all times
Warrior and Wild keep you well fed and well taken care of
And Legend makes sure that you always have a potion on you and has even given some power rings to ensure your safety
So all he has to do is butter you up by being the least persistent of them all and you'll fall for him and you can be together forever and ever and even be the start of Hyrule as everyone knows it
Wouldn't that be nice?
While he may not be the most musically inclined of the group, he's the one to serenade you when he gets the chance
He plays his harp more often than not, trying to get the notes out that he hears in his head when he looks at you
His life was such a simple song before you came along but now... It's a symphony, he wants you to know this
youtube
Four
Four is the most controlling
He's the one putting restrictions on you left and right and is the one to never want you to leave his side- let alone his line of sight.
You see, he's got these voices in his head that bounce ideas off of each other.
When one might be, hey that guy is talking to you
The other responds with, he's close to you too
One might say, you're smiling and it's beautiful
Another says, why is it directed at that guy?
Which snowballs to, you're a little too close, a little too nice, is he flirting? Has he touched you? Is he trying to make a move?
And then he's even more possessive and it grows and spirals and next thing he knows, he's next to you again and chewing the poor guy out for no reason when it was a simple conversation about the weather and directions.
And that's in public
Now add in the threat of monsters and traps and many other dangerous that surround the group as a whole
He's paranoids in the extreme
So when Twilight suggests that they tie you to Epona and keep you where he they can always see you, he's the first to agree
In fact he feels as if Twilight is the only one who's actually looking out for your well being
Wind tries to throw fits and get the two of them to back off but he's just a kid, what does he know? He should know better anyway, he knows how dangerous this journey is going to get, so why is Wind trying to actively put you in harms way?
Twilight a least can get Wind to listen to reason and Twilight's better at explaining it than he is so while Four'll yell, Wind is really Twilight's problem.
He doesn't like the idea of fighting is friends but he can see that well... He's the only to notice that they're not as close as they used to be when you first joined.
He thinks that Warrior can feel it but Four is the one who'll say it out loud.
Four is actually the most trigger happy out of all them, he's not afraid to break character and yell at some poor passerby who's too foolish enough to even look in your direction
He's the angry guard dog in public and it's a little hard to reign him most of the time
Twilight agree with him in this but he's also the one to hold him back
The last thing they need is to be kicked out of town
But if while you're there maybe he can get something for you?
He's the kind of person to make something for their beloved but he only knows how to make weapons and tools
Things that he's never going to give to you and actively tries to keep them away from at all costs
Yes, if you have your own weapons he'll also try to take them away
He'd rather see you angry than injured
No, he does not see how being weaponless in a fight will lead to more injuries and no, he not going to listen to those who try to tell him that.
Maybe he can learn how to make jewelry and gift that instead?
A pretty thing like yourself should be adorned in more beauty.
And he can save enough to make it with rubies and diamonds and any gold that he can salvage in Hyrule
He'd give you and make you anything you want
You'd be dripping in jewels if he had it his way
He also knows that the voices try to point out his flaws and all the ways that he's really not that appealing to any potential partners
It doesn't matter that he's merged and they all have the same flaws
But whenever he's next to you and things are calm, the voices are quiet and he feels like him
youtube
Wild
Wild is the Most violent
Like Four, he does not care if it's a simple conversation, if someone else is taking up your time and attention then he will want to start swinging.
He's usually held back by Warrior and Time since Twilight typically has to restrain Four
But if you're in danger? Real danger?
He becomes the equivalent of the Fierce Deity, no mask required
The battle field becomes a blood bath by his hand alone
Sure the others will want to to cause some destruction as well and destroy any and all threats to you, but Wild goes the extra mile
Forget Twilight going feral, he has an excuse- but Wild?
He'll go ballistically feral, even going as far to drop his weapons to rip into the threats with his hands and teeth
He has to make sure there's absolutely nothing in between you and him
He's not afraid to throw away his whole good guy reputation and even the reputation of the hero in order make sure he's the last man standing
Wild is now taking notes on how the the group fights and how they defend themselves, defend you and try to figure out the best ways to take them down
If there was ever to be a physical fight within the group, he'll not only be a part of it but most likely also the instigator
Wild has already lost all his friends and family before, he can't afford to lose anyone else
Besides his Hyrule has so much more to offer you than some of the others
Not to mention he has his own house- in a safe village- with low monsters around it- and barely any reason to think that he wouldn't be able to provide for you
He's got the rupees he needs from his monster farming and everything's nearby. Whatever he can't get, he can teleport to and he wouldn't have to leave you alone for long periods of time.
Wild goes out of his way to buy you clothes since the others have taken care of your other needs (much to his chagrin)
But he also makes sure you have the best portions of the meals he makes
He keep tracks how much you ate and when
He always there to give you a snack if you even mention of being peckish
He knows the others won't mind if he dotes in this manner
Not only because it's for you...
He has all the food anyway.
When he sees that you're wearing Legend's old tunic, he instantly hates it
He and Legend are less of an alliance and merely on tolerable terms- not that Legend notices or cares- because of this and Wild knows that your clothes have taken a lot battery
He wants to you be warm and protected
But he also has a lot of extra outfits
So he takes a page out of Legend's book and gives you some as well
He's a little disappointed you don't wear them as often but he knows that most of them are specialized for certain terrain- Legend's is more of a catch all kind of deal so he can understand the need for general uses
He's not happy about it
But he understands
The crazy thing is, you wouldn't want to end up in his Hyrule either
Pray you never do
Like Time, Wild has been all over his Hyrule and has traveled to all the nooks and crannies
He knows that he can hide you away without the others ever knowing what happened to you
Not even Wolfie would be able to track you
Why?
Because (and this is from AoC) he can teleport more than one person at a time, so he can just take you far away and somewhere secluded, somewhere where you wouldn't be able to leave
Hebra region? In the cabin where he learned how to shield surf? Or play the snow bowl game?
Gerudo Wasteland?
Akkala Region? With Robbie? It's hard to get past the guardians and the high level monsters...
Or maybe ditch you in the mountains with Paya in Kakariko Village?
Or maybe leave you on the Great Plateau? You can't get down without a paraglider...
Life with you is the only reason he's still on this journey instead of just taking you and leaving
The darkness is still around and it threatens his future with you
But it looks bright in his head when all is over and he's so happy that he met you
Life is now pink! And he won't take off his rose tinted glasses any time soon!
youtube
Legend
Legend is the most possessive
As some people have headcanoned in the past, he has a problem letting things go
He's lost so many people he cares about- he knows that items are a little harder to lose
He's the Collector- the Hoarder
Naturally when he sees something that he wants, he'll stop at nothing to make it his.
However, since he has a problem coming into direct contact with his own feelings, he's projecting
Legend instead tries to keep you at arms length and fails miserably
He doesn't want to fall for someone only to have them be ripped form him again, and again and again,
He cares for the group still even after their disagreements and eventually mistrust
He doesn't want to leave this little family they've made for themselves and has disillusioned himself into thinking that he can save it before it's too late
But in his fairytale ending, you're with him
Legend, though, still knows that their time will end and everyone will eventually go home so by the time everyone begins fighting and jealousy runs amuck, he's trying to hold everyone at arms length
When you don't give him attention, he's prone to get angry and may very well at times act like he hates you
He doesn't like it when you so much as breath in someone else's direction
You're his and his alone, why is anyone else even worth your time and energy?
But he's not going to say this out loud
So he's frustrated with himself and pouts often
So he's stuck in a cycle of self hatred and jealousy and not willing to do something to change it
But when you do give him attention, he's melts into a puddle
He's at your beck and call if so much as say his name
There's very little that he isn't willing to do for you or get for you, anything to make you happy
He's also quick to give you power rings to protect you even if he's against you fighting
Legend is also going to give you an extra tunic if (/when) your clothes take too much damage and they're too far gone for him to fix
It's a power move on his part
Not only does he feel giddy with boyish excitement when he sees you in his old tunic (that definitely has some kind of magical properties to ensure your safety), it's also him marking you as his property
And the others know it
Wild does a similar thing so you can at least have a change of clothes but Legend is quick to tailor them when you're not looking to not fit you and be uncomfortable
He's the one going through your things for sure
He need to know that he's the one who's taking care of you
He needs to know you have everything you need
He needs to know if there's anything that you're lacking so that he can sweep in and provide it for you
He's not really planning on taking out the competition or is planning beyond keeping you by his side for the day
He (like Hyrule) is living for the moment, because he's afraid he's going to blink and you'd be gone and there would be nothing else left for him
But you won't be gone
He's going to make sure of that
He's got tunnel vision for sure
But since he's also trying to not fall for you and get his heart broken, it becomes a game of hot and cold with a whole lot of minefields in between that could set him off for (what looks like) no reason
He hates you- no he doesn't- he wants nothing to do with you- he wants to be your everything- he's not going to write you poetry or braid your hair or fall asleep listening to your heart beat- he would kill for that to be his reality- he hates that you're all he's able to think about now- don't leave him please
He's not crushing
He's not
He is
youtube
Wind
Wind is the least protective- Still protective but arguably not to the degree of the others
You see, he knows that the others protect him because he's the youngest
And he's not blind
He can see that they're just as, if not more, protective over you
He can see how you hate it and how much it annoys you
He's not going to make that same move
And as a bonus, since the others are protecting you anyway, why should he put in the work and protect you as well?
There's enough people watching you all the time
With the others taking care of it, he can plan on winning you over
He's going to give you as much freedom as he's able to get away with
It'll put him as your favorite
This immediately puts him at a crossroads with Four who's somehow a hair's breadth away from tying you up and chaining you together by the wrists
They fight against each other the most
He plans on marrying you
It's honestly in the same degree of young children that say they're growing to grow up and marry their dad or their mom
Because obviously you marry the person you love and you stay with them for the rest of your life
And he loves you.
So that's what he plans to do
Win you over is step one
Then he (and you) just need to wait a few years for him to get older
And then he'll marry you
He does not see a problem with this plan
Typically I make the reader the same age as him to avoid the worst of it but in this case, this does not matter
I'd say that if you're older, he'd get more easily attached to giving you the freedom you've been missing
With him by your side obviously
Because you're older- you're an 'adult'- you can take care of yourself
You're so cool in his eyes
The others, naturally, see a problem with this
Not only out of jealously at the very thought of it not being them to marry you but because they know he's young and if you're older, (say closer to Twilight and Warrior's age) then they can see the problem it'll prove to be for you from a moral stand point
The others (mainly Legend and Four) bully tease him when you're not around about how selfish he is to even think about making you wait, when you could easily marry one of them instead, so why would you ever choose him?
He tries not to let it get to him because he does hang out with you more than they get to- so maybe they're really just jealous that his plan is working
Wind has the more innocent approach to this whole ordeal out of the whole group
His obsession isn't healthy, obviously, but he at least the excuse of being young and not knowing how to deal with crushes
Because he's awkward with it, (and he knows it) he's actually pretty quick to shut away the worst of it when he's spending time with you, less you think he's weird and push him away
Not only does he not want that to happen, but he's heard the others come up to you countless times regarding him and his behavior and if you'd like him to leave you alone
Because they will deal with him if you so much as say one word of annoyance
The choice is yours
If you indulge him when he wants your attention then he's more like himself and becomes the most normal out of the whole group
He becomes the him when you first joined
Before the obsession
Wind becomes your safest bet in terms of keeping your sanity intact and it's the groups saving grace to keep up any illusion that they're still normal
Wind is dealing with a highly flammable vial of puppy love concentrate
All in the form of budding teenage yandere hormones
If you had met him any later in his life, the cocktail would have no doubt exploded into the form of the other's behavior and he'd seem like a completely different person instead
He's almost like a lost puppy, always following you around and being in your shadow
It would be cute if he wasn't crazy
Wind adores you though and he wants you to know that

the hippogriffs and the flobberworms
Day 23, Post #2 by @accio-broom
Title: the hippogriffs and the flobberworms Author/Artist: accio-broom Pairing: Arthur & Ron Weasley (platonic) Prompt: slice of life Rating: T Trigger Warning(s) (if any): Mentions of sex lives and STDs, very cringe-worthy.
Arthur whistles as he roams the ground floor of the Burrow, searching for his youngest son. Ron’s best friend Hermione is due to arrive any day, ready to spend the latter part of the summer holiday with the Weasleys, but there are some things Arthur needs to speak to Ronald about before Miss Granger joins them.
He’s probably left this conversation a little late—Ron turned fourteen a few months ago—but this is the first time the youngest has shown any interest in the opposite sex. With the rather exciting activities coming up for their fourth school year, including a ball, it’s only inevitable that different feelings will start to stir.
Chuckling, Arthur reminisces about the conversations with his other sons. Bill, always cool as a frost salamander, kept his focus on his old Dad without any outward discomfort, even though Arthur made a complete mess as he told Bill about the facts of life. All of Arthur’s words came out in a massive jumble—he couldn’t even use the correct terms for various body parts and used all the wrong euphemisms. Arthur had been trying so hard to be a cool dad that he got himself far too worked up to make any sense.
His second son, Charlie, was dismissive and didn’t seem interested in the mechanics of making love, which was disappointing given the amount of time Arthur had spent rehearsing, determined to get it right that time. Percy approached the conversation with logic and appropriate questions, discussing it as he would an important Ministry policy before thanking his dad then leaving the room without a backwards glance. In stark contrast, the twins cracked inappropriate jokes and turned the tables on Arthur, making him feel awkward as innuendo after innuendo spewed from their mouths.
Ron will be Arthur’s last chance to do “the talk”. Molly is responsible for dealing with Ginny, and they’ve probably already started. He doesn’t baulk at the female aspect of puberty, having lived with a woman for almost twenty-five years, he’s well versed in the potions and muggle contraptions they need to use, but he thought it only fair that Molly gets a go of this, too. It’s one of the essential parts of being a parent, after all.
Although Arthur is well-seasoned in explaining the facts of life without going overboard with the detail or using cringe-worthy phrases now (although the twins did teach him a few new idioms), he has decided to step away from the ‘cool’ dad persona and go full-on over the top this time.
He could make this easy for Ron, but why would Arthur want to spoil his own fun?
A flash of red hair leaving the broom shed catches his attention out of the kitchen window, and Arthur’s grin widens. It’s a beautiful day, the sun is shining, but there is a light breeze, keeping the air fresh and cool. It’s the sort of day that would lead to him fishing in the lake at the bottom of the garden, but he has a task at hand that he needs to deal with first.
Maybe there’ll be time for him to get his rod out later.
Pouring two glasses of lemonade from the jug Molly has left on the side, Arthur uses a cooling charm on them then steps out from the backdoor and onto the patio.
“Ron,” he calls, smiling as his son turns his head around faster than a niffler chasing gold, looking like Arthur has caught Ron doing something that he shouldn’t. Probably skiving from the long list of chores Molly gave him this morning. “Come up and have a chat with your old Dad.”
Arthur eases himself into the bench under the wisteria with a groan. Although he isn’t all that old, having seven children and living through a war takes its toll on a guy’s body. Now, every joint clicks and complains every time he moves. Forget getting somewhere in a hurry; slow and steady is now the way to go.
Ron settles in the seat next to him.
“What’s up, Dad?” he asks, smiling at Arthur. He takes the offered drink, gulping almost half of it in one go before letting out a loud, satisfied sigh.
“Hermione is coming to stay with us before we go to the World Cup, I hear? But not Harry?”
Ears turning pink, Ron turns his head to look out at the garden. “Y-yeah. We’re going to collect Harry in a few days, remember?”
“Oh, yes. I’m very excited to be visiting the Muggles. Will they tell me about eckeltricity? Should I take my battery collection?”
Ron laughs. “I don’t think the Dursleys will be too impressed with batteries, Dad. They use them every day.”
“Shame.” Arthur sighs, then turns his eyes to gaze the same way as Ron’s. “So, Hermione is a girl.”
“Er, yes, I guess so.”
“A girl you’re attracted to?” Arthur glances at Ron, whose face has turned as white as a ghost.
Ron reacts with a knee-jerk response, but the look on his face indicates that he’s not telling the whole truth. “No!”
“Are you sure? You and her have gotten close lately. Mum and I like her.” Arthur waits a moment for Ron to take back his first response, then tuts when he stays quiet. “Well, I’m sure you’ll find someone you do like soon. Anyway, as you already know, she’ll be staying in Ginny’s room with your sister, and I’m sure you’re clear on the rules of the house. Your Mum does not want any sneaking around or late-night visits.”
Arthur doesn’t hold the same views as his wife. Sure, he doesn’t want the kids to be sleeping in each other’s beds, but he remembers the conversations he and his friends had during the early hours of the morning when he was their age. If the children wanted to get up to something, Arthur would rather it happen under their roof where they’re safe than have them take unnecessary risks. He and Molly were young once, too, although it feels like a lifetime ago now.
“I know, Dad.”
“Good. And so you know, if you ever find yourself feeling conflicted or wanting some advice on how to ask a lady out, you can always come to me. Because being a teenage lad is a very confusing time, and the magic will heighten this, as well as the fact that you live in proximity to some charming young women. You might not feel it right now, but you’re on the precipice of being a man. Your voice has started breaking. Sure, it’s a little later than the others, but I’m sure that’s nothing to worry about. Everyone develops at their own pace, after all. Pretty soon, you’ll have hairs sprouting all over the place, even in places you wouldn’t expect it. I can’t remember when all of this started happening for me, but it was around your age. And don’t get me started on the wet dreams…”
“Merlin,” Ron sighs, now squirming in his seat, trying to make himself as small as possible. When Arthur checks again, his youngest is looking into the depths of his glass as if considering whether he could drown himself in there.
“Sex is healthy, son, especially if it’s with someone that you admire and love, whether that be a girl or a boy, Your mum and I don’t mind as long as you’re happy. And if you find the right person, then it can be amazing.”
A low groan emits from Ron’s mouth as he pushes himself further down the bench, attempting to put some distance between him and Arthur.
“Please stop talking,” he pleads with bright red cheeks.
“Having a good sex life is nothing to be ashamed of, let me tell you. The seven of you weren’t delivered by the hippogriffs, after all. Not that we only have sex to procreate. Having you kids out of the house has done wonders for our love life.
“While we’re on the subject, if you can’t get a partner, then there’s nothing wrong with taking matters into your own hand. Masturbation is very beneficial, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s important to explore your own body and learn the kind of things you like so that you can recreate those moments with a partner. I can tell you some useful charms if you need them—ones for when you’re with someone, and others for when you’re alone. Of course, there are some spells that are vital for you to learn. Safety is sexy, and you don’t want any little accidents happening.”
Ron runs his hand over his face as if trying to erase his dismay. “Dad. Please stop. I know all of this already. Not that I wa-I mean, do that sort of stuff.”
He crosses his legs with a gulp, and Arthur feels a rush of joy. He’s succeeded in making his youngest son feel as awkward as possible. You have to take delight in the smallest of moments, especially the older you get.
“Who told you?”
“I have five brothers and live in a dorm with four other boys. Also, Flitwick taught us the contraceptive charm last year.” Ron is still focused on his glass, looking like he wants to be a million miles away.
“Oh, right. ”
An irrational surge of disappointment crashes over Arthur. He should have realised that kids are far more advanced and talk much more than they did in his day. He should have bit the bludger earlier and nabbed him last summer.
“Well,” Arthur continues anyway, determined to see this through, “contraceptive charms aren’t the only things you need to learn. You need to ensure you protect yourself from Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or STDs, as well. Some of these can make you a little itchy, but others can be dangerous. You should go and see Madam Pomfrey if you think you might have one. Of course, you could always get some muggle con-domes. Fantastic little invention they are. Rather than trying to remember a load of different spells while you’re in the heat of passion, you can whack on a rubber and get to it.”
He doesn’t allow Ron’s small squeak to put him off his speech, now he’s in full flow again. “Talking about getting to it. Consent is important. When you decide to take that step, or even before when you snog someone, you need to make sure they want to do it too. Every step of the way. If they say no, you stop right away, even if they said yes only a minute previously. You must understand that. Never force yourself on someone, especially if they are drunk or otherwise intoxicated. If they can’t say yes, it’s a no-go. Got it?”
“I-I d-do,” Ron stutters, his voice strained under the embarrassment of the situation. “C-Can I go now?”
“Yes, yes, of course. But don’t forget that I’m here if you need anything, son. Even if you think it might get you into trouble. And look after Hermione, even if your feelings for her are only platonic. I admire the way you, her and Harry have formed a little group. The three of you are good for each other.”
Arthur reclines on the bench and closes his eyes, letting out a sigh as the sun warms his face. There’s no point getting one’s wand in a knot over spilt potion. He still managed to get Ron squirming like a flobberworm, so it was mostly a successful mission.
The bench shifts as Ron rises to his feet. He finishes his drink with a gulp and sets the glass down on the floor before shuffling away.
“Dad?” a small voice asks.
When Arthur opens his eyes, he spots Ron towering over him. When did he get so lanky? Ron is going to be the tallest of the family, for sure. There’s a smile on his face, though he still can’t meet his Dad’s gaze.
“Yeah, Son?” Arthur asks, shielding his eyes from the sun.
“Thanks for trying.”
Ron shrugs, then wanders back down the garden, his gangly frame hunched over. Arthur marvels at Ron’s response. You think you fully understand your children, and then they do something that knocks you off your broom. But Ron is a decent lad, and Arthur knows he will go far, like the rest of them.
With a happy sigh, he leans back and closes his eyes again. He’s done an okay job at this parenting thing. As long as none of them gets arrested or tries to break into Gringotts, he can die a happy man.

I just don't understand how hellers see Dean calling Castiel his family, being sad that he died, saying sorry that he lashed out at him when he was grieving his mom, trying to find him in a place full of monsters so they can get back to earth together and going 'subtext' and then when they see all these:
Dean being jealous of Ruby and the whole arc treating him like a spouse being cheated on
Sam being Dean's siren
The 'it's a terrible life' episode where they're just two strangers planning to run away to hunt together
Sam calling Dean a male model when he doesn't remember him & Dean describing Sam as having soft, delicate features and luxurious hair
Dean's love interest saying she knew they were over the moment she saw Sam when under the truth spell
Sam and Amelia having to choose between each other and their respective partners (she chooses Sam, Sam chooses Dean)
They practically got married in sacrifice and never committed to a romantic relationship once after that (both Amara and Eileen were supernaturally influenced and once that was addressed those arcs were done)
Sam expressing his fear of Dean choosing Amara over him when affected by her magic (Amara that had kissed Dean and had been referred to as the one Dean's pining after)
Bob Singer when talking about the Jack arc called them his parents (Sam the 'mom', Dean the 'dad' lol)
A character talking about losing the love of her life (her husband) and Dean basically thinking 'ikr, I almost lost Sam too!' Like that's where his mind goes, it's not subtle.
Dean always screaming for Sam when he's at his most vulnerable (hell, MoC nightmares, Malak box nightmares)
Them being soulmates (not just in DSOTM, but also in other episodes where they show how entangled the brothers' souls are through either dialogue or visuals. Though I admit while this can be taken as wincest subtext, I see it as a celebration of their platonic bond)
.........they go 'just normal brotherly love guys, they'll hang out on holidays but their true happiness is being with romantic partners away from each other like the way healthy minded siblings do in real life.' And yes, that's how siblings should act. Sam and Dean aren't normal siblings though, far from it.
it's why they hate Sam so much. Because Dean loves his Sammy the way they want him to love Castiel.
also man lasdkjfaoweiafd just laying out all the incest subtext. It's why I think most of the destiel shippers who demand wincest shippers go away and how terribly icky incest is to their sensibilities is generally a front. If sibling incest triggered you, they wouldn't watch Supernatural.
but anyway remember in Changing Channels? Gabe said that as it was in heaven, it must be on earth? So, my reading is that their bond is basically written into the stars.
Amusingly enough, the writers sort of ignored Michael/Lucifer stuff. But they kept on with their Sam+Dean is otp.
