Thinking about Ratio opening up to Aventurine about how he hasn't been recognized by Nous yet, only for Aventurine to look horrified at the prospect that he might one day be and to beg him not to keep on seeking the blessing of a divinity, all because he cares so much about Ratio and doesn't want him to suffer like he has.

i like to think of jam as such a “would you love me in another universe” type of relationship. or what could’ve been? that’s what feels so tragic to me. like - jay could’ve been the only other somewhat close relationship tim had in his life other than brian. or if they had met under different circumstances, would it have been healthier? or even how jay felt? he said it himself he wasn’t exactly doing anything pre-mh. hmm. he felt less alone; but i can only wonder how else it could’ve gone if they were close in another scenario. or ; if they could’ve met in a less depressing part of their lives. they are like a book with the last pages ripped out!

Posting in this blog after an eternity because I feel like I'm going insane here and my friends are asleep so I need to dump my brainstorm SOMEWHERE (SPOILERS FOR ARLECCHINO'S BACKSTORY/SHORT ANIMATION!!)
The TLDR is basically I think that the whole story with Arlecchino and Clervie is foreshadowing for whatever is about to happen with Lyney and Lynette
I think the parallels between Lyney and Arle don't need to be too explained for the most part. Pyro Visions, Arle wants him to be the next "king" while he doesn't seem to be too into that idea just like her younger self didn't want it, both are associated with Rainbow Roses (they both use them as ascension materials)
Plus, I'd argue they look kinda similar here. I'm not sure exactly what is that makes the resemblance, maybe a bit of the hair, bowtie and shorts and you could say it's something she has with the others too (her kid design resembles Freminet, current one Lynette) but I thought it was good to mention anyways
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Lynette and Clervie are the two closest companions to their respective pair
Lynette's has Lumidouce Bells as an ascension material. Clervie is very clearly represented with the same flower (if her necklace wasn't enough, there's this)
Tumblr media
Plus, a bit of a smaller connection, but they both have clear sweet tooths
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Lyney saying "we talked about this" implies this is a frequent event. The animation showing Clervie with cake twice while it only had 7 minutes to tell the whole story has a similar effect)
So, if Lyney is a parallel to Arle while Lynette is a parallel to Clervie, where does this leave us?
Well... Not exactly in a good spot-
Tumblr media
To be fair, I don't think Genshin would actually kill a playable character (or at least, so I hope), but it's very possible Lynette gets really hurt, either directly by Lyney or by being close to him
Arlecchino swore to be nothing like her mother, but in the end, the way she's acting towards Lyney by wanting to make him the next king may be very similar to it
Once upon a story quest, Lyney said similar words to a woman who claimed he'd end up all alone. I can only pray that the writers will have mercy at my soul and that they wouldn't go that low with a playable character
If I were to make a mildly self indulgent guess, as the Freminet main I am, I'd say that he may be the key that's going to make things turn out different for the twins. His presence is the biggest difference between the twins vs Arle and Clervie, who seemed to have no one else that was even mildly close to them. From the 4.6 trailer we know that he's the one that has been hiding stuff and we do see him blocking out Arle's attack, so I don't think it's a stretch to say he'll have a really important role in this whole thing
So yeah! If you read all my rambling, thanks I guess, hope you enjoyed it. In the end, all I can hope is that the Fontaine siblings all turn out fine for the sake of my own mental wellness because God knows these 3 stay all day spinning in my head as if it was a microwave
Also, for the record: No, I don't have a clue about what the hell is going on with Freminet apparently finding "Clervie" (ghost?? Illusion??) and hiding her from Arle. Until this short my best shot was that she was some sort of mermaid creature, but that idea is out the window so it could be anything really

hot take but religious trauma is exclusive to Christianity & Catholicism
You’re right. That is a hot take because I’m willing to bet it’s wrong.
Like yeah, I understand where you’re coming from with this. Catholicism has its own brand of religious trauma (and with how it works, I’d be a fair bet to say it’s more frequent, especially in this day and age), but exclusive? No way. I think that if a religion can lead to a Holy War (which there were many , then its effects can likely cause its own kinds of trauma.
Granted, I consider myself a rather religious Christian myself, and I only have a limited knowledge of other religions. This isn’t me saying “well my religion has negative aspects, therefore all religions must share them” as much as it’s me saying that belief in a higher power that dictates what happens after you die is going to leave an impact on a person. Not always bad, mind you (in fact not bad a lot of the time) but with billions of people on the earth at this current moment, you’re bound to find someone who gets a traumatic experience from it outside of Christianity/Catholicism.

Gods, I’m still thinking of Buddy dawn, how he probably didn’t know Kipperlilly killed him, how he probably thought the rat grinders were his friends, how he probably felt so alone?
He was an immigrant from Highcourt, and yes, while he definitely knows solician customs he was raised in a different country! He was requested by the rat grinders! They wanted him to join, did he even have friends outside of his party?
Thinking about Buddy dawn, killed by his own party member, a person he probably considered a friend. Thinking of this sheltered lonely kid finding joy in his religion, thinking of how his life was so unfair.
Gods I hope he comes back and also has a crisis of faith, because he seems like a good kid with good intentions but he’s going about it so wrong? And also Helio sucks I hope he chokes on corn

interacting with other fnv fans is tiring as a legion fangirl because the comment that I constantly get is ''haha lol I always kill this guy every time I find him in Nipton'' as if that's not what 80% of players do. so instead of whining about gore of my comfort character now my default response is ''that's interesting, personally I have 4 children with him.''

Angsty musing of the night : Aventio/Ratiorine Soulmate AU where Ratio is oblivious to the real identity of his soulmate because the name written on his wrist isn't Aventurine, but Kakavasha. Aventurine, on the other hand, is perfectly aware that they're soulmates, but stays silent about it because he is so damn scared Ratio will suffer the same fate as his family if he starts getting attached to him.
(Then Ratio discovers the truth, either through deduction or by learning Aventurine's birth name, and finds just the right words to convince Aventurine that it's safe for them to be together, because I cannot stand unhappy endings, especially when it comes to those two)

If I ever leave the USA I’m gonna tell people that random things are illegal in the USA, just like, literally anything. But sometimes I’ll sprinkle in a true thing that’s illegal. Someone takes me to a fun place and I say “I’m so glad this is legal here” refuses to elaborate. Leaves.

i feel like… working for shadow company wouldn't be that bad in theory. like yes you still Kill People and your boss is a war criminal etc etc and none of you are "innocent" but my perception is that it's as if graves actually LIKES the shadows. he likes having them as his team, is genuinely proud when they succeed, and intentionally tries to uplift and support them when things [ie. missions] get hard. like yeah the entire fandom knows as a fact graves isn't a "Good Guy" from his actions [the label itself is vague but alas] but he doesn't see his soldiers as just black suits with guns he can order around. at least there's that

A Rambling Essay about Crosshair
I feel like there are lots of characters like Crosshair in Star Wars. Characters that portray themselves to be unfriendly assholes, but are using that to protect a vulnerable, traumatized inner self.
When we meet Crosshair in season 7 of The Clone Wars episode The Bad Batch, he’s an asshole. He and Wrecker start a fight when Cody is injured (Cody is the only “reg” Crosshair has respect for, but I’ll get into this another time). In the episode, A Distant Echo, he brings up the fact that Echo could be dead, or a traitor. He goes so far as to suggest just leaving Echo for dead since he is “just a reg”. This upsets Rex, which was his intention in my opinion, and Crosshair ends up getting punched in the face for it. While this was an important aspect to remember, Crosshair could’ve been more gentle about it. Instead he was arrogant and dismissive, he meant to be cruel with his remarks. This is asshole behavior.
Skipping ahead to The Bad Batch series. When Order 66 comes through, he actively tries to kill Caleb (Kanan). We know the others didn’t have their chips activate, due to their defectiveness (later we do have Wrecker’s activate, but only after a head injury). But Crosshair’s did, partially at least if not fully. He still tried to be part of the squad (not initially reporting Hunter for disobeying Order 66) until his chip’s influence was strengthened. Once that happened, he became loyal to the Empire and thus began the era of Crosshair being their enemy. What he did during this time wasn’t his fault, as he was being controlled by the implanted chip.
However, I wish to draw attention to the episode Reunion in Season 1 of The Bad Batch. Crosshair is injured by the engines of a Star Destroyer activating and burning his face. We were left with three options here.
One: the chip was destroyed by the injury, since it was on the right side of his head. This would result in its removal.
Two: the chip is intact, but has been damaged and may not be fully functioning.
Three: the chip is intact and still functioning as normal, since the injury seems to be just scarring and largely focused on the surface of his skull.
Reason one would bring us to the realization that any action Crosshair was doing post-injury was of his own free will. This is further solidified when Hunter and Crosshair are arguing in the season 1 finale, Crosshair revealing that he had had his inhibitor chip removed a long time ago. He does refuse to tell Hunter when he did this. His hair could’ve hid the removal scar easily, but the procedure would’ve left him with a bandage and a shaved portion of his hair. The others would have noticed. That makes it logical to think the chip was removed when Crosshair was receiving treatment for his injury. But this is also unlikely since I don’t see the Empire removing their source of control from Crosshair.
This brings me to the only option of the chip still being in place and Crosshair just lying to Hunter to make him feel like a failure. I feel like he did this to Hunter for the same reason he told Rex that he would’ve left Echo for dead because he’s “just another reg”. He’s trying to get the other to believe he is just an asshole. Irredeemable.
Later in Kamino Lost, Crosshair is still unwilling to renounce his loyalty to the Empire, but he’s also not actively trying to kill his former team. He even saves Omega at the end, knowing he was the only one who could’ve made that shot.
The latter half of Season 2 is where we start to see the real Crosshair come out. His interactions with Cody and Mayday are turning points for him. Mayday’s murder is the trigger he needs to sever his loyalty to the Empire. Crosshair goes through some serious torture and is traumatized as a result. This shatters the protective shield he had built around himself (likely since childhood). Before, the only ones he had willingly allowed in was Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker. Later Echo was included. He is still refusing to let Omega in, but this will likely change at the end of the series. He is still suffering through this experience, even though he’s rejoined his team. He’s refusing to admit his fears, the shaking of his hand is enough for Hunter and Wrecker though. They don’t seem to press this as much, but I don’t think any clone trooper knows how to deal with mental health and trauma (as they were supposed to be “immune” to the effects of battle fatigue/stress/PTSD).
He’s not the same Crosshair he was when we met him, but he’s trying to act as if he is. He has gone through being a loyal member of Clone Force 99, to feeling betrayed and abandoned by them. He becomes loyal to the Empire, until he is abandoned (on Kamino) and betrayed (by Mayday’s murder) by them.
I found it interesting that he still tried to be loyal to the Empire after they abandoned him on Kamino. He still tried to be a good soldier. He still tried to please them. It made me wonder if this is what he was like as a child. Trying to get others to like him or be pleased with him. But due to the obvious animosity between Clone Force 99 and regular clone troopers, this was likely something he’d never achieve and he had to accept that. Thus he walled up the hurt he felt and actively tried to keep others at bay with an asshole attitude.
