Eventually you can’t ignore your intuition anymore and do a tarot spread to find out wtf exactly is going on with these boys and WHAMO your “I’ve got a bad feeling about these two” is backed up by the cards saying they’re serial killers. You weren’t popular in high school. If we’re being honest here.

Often times than not, that was your doing. You grew up with this gut feeling. That’s what you would call it for people who didn’t understand. For those rare friends that weren’t into anything remotely spiritual.

Spirituality has been your staple for many years. That’s why so many friends have come and gone and why you were considered an outcast at Woodsboro. The self-proclaimed Witch.

Your practices in the Occult were important to you. Your rituals were sacred and nothing was going to come between that. And that gut feeling, aka intuition, guided you to help avoid the most dangerous of situations. Or just plain inconveniences. Whatever it may be. You never ignored it. Because that feeling was always right.

So here you were, desperately trying to find a store called ‘The Energy Within’ since you had nothing better to do after school. It was a new metaphysical supply shop that had found a home in the vacant building of the Woodsboro Shopping Center. Since it was bound to disappear in the next month and be replaced by some other local business moving from place to place... You figured you would check out the place to see if it had anything decent. Any crystals that you may not have or maybe a decently carved set of runes.

You had your eyes trained on the sidewalk to avoid the stares of others you passed when suddenly you bumped into not one but two people.

“Woah-”

“Hey!”

About seven movies in total landed in front of your feet. All were cheesy horror movies.

“Sorry!” You muttered, dropping down to collect the VHS tapes. “I didn’t mean to run into you I’m trying to find this store.” Neither bothered helping and when you finally stood back up you came face to face with two boys you recognized from school. One of which you had homeroom with.

“Thanks,” One of them muttered, this wasn’t the one you had a class with, and took the movies from your hands. He was chewing on a piece of gum but it was seemingly robotic, as if his stoic face rarely changed from the harsh glance he was currently giving you.

“No worries. Hey-” The other one interjected, obviously more hyper than the other. “Don’t we have homeroom together? You’re uh...” He tapped a finger to his chin, bouncing on his heels, “(Y/n) right? You’re the satanist or whatever.”

You pursed your lips to form into a thin line, “No, actually. I’m not.”

“Then what are you?” The other boy asked. The more you looked at this kid the more unsettled you were by his lack of emotion. But there was a glint of curiosity that shined in his brown irises to you remained polite.

“Wiccan,” you answered. Both of them tilted their heads, obviously clueless to what it was. “A witch, basically.”

“Cool,” The taller boy said. “Like The Craft?”

“Sure...” You mumbled, wanting to leave. The two of them seemed kind enough but the pit in your stomach had you itching to push past them. The better part of you was shoving any negative inkling to the back of your mind. They were just asking questions. Plain in simple, there was no harm in that.

“Well,” The taller one spoke again. “I’m Stu and this is Billy. He looks cranky but that’s just a defense mechanism. His mom left,” Stu introduced the two of them and slung a shoulder around an even more annoyed Billy. He responded with a grunt and an aggressive shoulder check to knock off Stu’s lanky arm.

“Nice to meet you two,” You half-smiled. “I do have to get going, I really wanna find this shop.”

“Oh... right,” Stu nodded. “Have fun!”

And with that, the two boys glided past you. You stood in place for a few seconds, marinating in what had just happened but eventually you moved on. The store was a few blocks ahead which you were grateful for. And unbeknownst to you, the pit in your stomach had evaporated as fast as it had appeared.

Much to your dismay, Billy and Stu had interacted with you more often than you expected at school for the rest of the week. Sometimes you would come across them after school, too. Although you wanted to believe otherwise it was unnerving.

Not for any particular reason either. They were beyond nice. Stu was funny as all hell. Billy apologized for being cold when you first met. He hasn’t said anything since then but you assumed that was the nicest he’s ever been to a stranger. He doesn’t glare at you anymore either.

Although every time you spoke with them you were left feeling unsettled. You couldn’t explain it and above all else, you ignored it. The kindness they showed you, or rather that Stu showed you, was nothing like what you were used to. Students at school made fun of you. In town, people ignored you. When they went out of their way to interact, it made your heart all fuzzy. But the rest of you felt troubled, in danger, even.

After another week you turned to what you knew and trusted best. Your tarot deck. You collected several decks over the past few years but this one was your favorite. It was hand-drawn and decorated with the most intricate details. You fell in love with the set as soon as you had set eyes on it.

The reading wasn’t anything like the others you pull from your day to day rituals. You set out the intention of wanting to know why you felt so perturbed after speaking with the pair and the deck gave you a clear answer.

Two of the three cards that were pulled had fallen out swiftly. You flipped over one of the cards to reveal The Devil card. You weren’t unknown to this card, it had appeared more frequently than you wanted, so this wasn’t concerning. Rather, it was unhelpful. You were feeling negative in general after each occurance with the boys, you made that obvious. You went on at least feeling validated in your feelings.

The next card was revealed to be the Three of Swords. You pondered on this for a moment. Was this a warning? Warning you to be wary of the two? No matter what it was, the card set so far was basically screaming at you to listen to your gut. Listen to it like it had been warning you since the beginning.

The final card you had pulled basically shot out of the deck as you shuffled. You had put it off to read for last, but your intuition was telling you that this could be the most important one. Inching your fingers over the smooth card, you turned it over to reveal The Tower.

For a moment, you froze. This card was rare for you. Usually, you took things with a grain of salt... but it didn’t feel right. Everything about the situation didn’t feel right to you. You tried rationalizing it in your head. Maybe it wasn’t the boys themselves. Maybe you three were correlated somehow. The universe intended you three to be in a terrible situation. You wanted to believe that rather than the possibility that these boys were... bad. No. One word screamed out to you. Dangerous.

You attempted to shake off your nerves. You threw the cards back into the deck and shoved it to the side, folding your arms around yourself in a form of comfort. It was fine. You trusted that everything would be fine.

And then suddenly, without a moments notice, your gut feeling had returned. Your phone was ringing.

So I just realized we share another fandom!! Anyway, I have a rather angsts Booker prompt that I think only you can do justice and it’s long, so I’m so sorry: (1) so the team are still on the splits, maybe a couple years into Booker’s exile, and Nike asks Copley to keep an eye on Booker. Being ex-CIA, he has a camera out in Booker’s apartment but Booker only glances at it, salutes with his bottle, proceeds to get drunk. Then he lays out an envelope then spends the night in the bathroom.

After a couple watches joe suddenly starts cursing and rushes out the door, Nicky right behind him. Much travel later, they get to Booker’s apartment and Joe immediately goes to the bath.

(3) He barges in and there’s Booker in the tub, in his underwear, some kind of metal tube gauged in his arm as he bleeds out over and over every night, but the worst part is how *organized* he is: all the blood is is carefully in the tub, his clothes folded neatly, the apartment is spotless, money for a cremation and a will to have him buried at the family plot on the table and letters to be mailed to Copley to get to the others. He does this Every. Night. As Penance.

There was a too smooth hesitation in the way Copley asks for her attention and it immediately sparks suspicion in Nile when he casually directs her to the console on the far end of the office.

Far enough from the rest of her family that they would not be able to overhear, or at least will have to work to listen in, on whatever he was about to tell her.

She waits him out. Calmly holding her ground as he casts her a calculating gaze, unfolding the tablet and powering it on. “You know that thing you asked me to do? The one about Paris?” He looks down onto the screen before turning it to her. “I think you should see this.”

Suspicion bleeds into curiosity now because the last update Copley had given her about Booker was that the man was doing his best to drink himself to death. Was he successful? Wouldn’t his liver just heal itself if it was damaged?

The video plays without any audio. Booker crosses the screen, pausing at the kitchen sink for a moment, hands braced and head bowed like a man broken. He stays like that for a good minute before he pushes off, rummaging through the topmost drawer and pulls out an unmarked envelope. Placing it on the dining table, he picks up a fresh bottle of whiskey from its crate, looking up directly into the camera, saluting with two fingers before moving into the bathroom and closing the door.

“He has been doing this for months now and it seems like it’s something he has been doing even before we started our surveillance,” Copley says. Nile checks through the folder of recordings. “Every night it’s the same thing. He places that envelope on the table and goes into the bathroom until morning comes. He comes out, gets drunk and repeats. I’ve put in inquiries to the landlord if there are any disturbances and so far nothing. We don’t have a camera in the bathroom so we don’t know what he’s doing in there every night.”

Nile taps on a random one and watches the practised way Booker braces himself as if trying to gather courage for something big that he has to do.

“I’ll talk to the rest about it.”

She waits until they’re all settled with debriefing to broach the subject. Andy reacts with a tinge of worry in her brow that Nile has learnt to pick up on. “I’m sorry. I know you guys said he can’t contact us. But I just kept thinking about it and...”

“And you thought you wanted to check in on our brother,” Nicky finishes for her. Reaching out to pat her hand, she smiles weakly when he nods sagely. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Nile. You care.”

Andy picks up the tablet, watching the recording before passing it off to Joe. “Booker’s been doing this for months?”

“Longer, if Copley’s right about it.”

“Shit!” Joe curses in a rapid stream of languages that Nile could barely keep up with. Nicky, however, can.

“Are you sure?” He stands, the chair scraping on the floor as it is pushed back, eyes gone a pale steely grey. “Yusuf-”

“I’m sure,” Joe says, meeting their eyes in turn. “I hope I’m wrong.”

“What? What are you hoping to be wrong about?” Nile asks, dread slowly creeping up her spine. Andy stands too still next to her when Joe’s eyes flicker back onto where the video footage of Booker is saluting the camera.

“I hope I’m wrong,” Joe says slowly. “But I think he’s dying every night in his bathroom.”

They catch the next flight out to Charles de Gaulle, wasting no time in between the horrible realisation and packing up their most bare essentials. Copley seems to know their intentions because he arranges for a car to be ready for them with preprogrammed directions to Booker’s flat. The drive into Paris in the summer twilight is quiet. No one daring to speak more than the necessary need to point out exits, turnings and road signs.

God, she prays they’re all wrong. Nile keeps praying even as they steal past the front door under the shadows of night. Keeps on clinging to that hope of divine intervention even when they prepare to pick the lock of Booker’s flat, only to find it open.

Andy leads them in, cutting through the space with strong strides until she pushes through into the bathroom and something stops her in her tracks.

Joe and Nicky sweep past her, causing her to stumble back a little. Nile catches her, still not processing what she is seeing. Booker’s clothes were placed in a neatly folded pile on the stool by the door. The man himself is out cold. Looking for all the world to be content to spend the night naked in an unheated bathroom. A metal tube sticks out amongst the blood in the tub and it takes a second for her to realise that the tube is protruding from Booker’s limp arm.

“Oh,” She says.

Andy moves then, going to help pull Booker out of the tub and lay him out on the floor. He stirs, eyes blinking up at the ceiling before rolling back. Nicky has pulled out the tube, letting it clatter on the tiles, placing his hand over the gaping hole. “It’s not closing.”

“Find out if he has any clean towels. Something,” Joe instructs, keeping his fingers on Booker’s pulse point. Ever since Andy’s newly regained mortality, they’ve all been brushing up on the latest first aid measures to the point that Nicky has been talking about going to medical school.

Spilling back into the kitchen, she digs through the drawers for fresh tea towels when her eyes spy the unmarked envelope sitting innocently amongst the worn wood of the tabletop. Unable to resist, Nile tears it open. Instructions first greet her written in French. She has enough time to learn now that she can understand that Booker was instructing whoever found him to take the money enclosed and use it for a simple funeral and that the letters inside must be mailed to Copley. He ends it with an apology for inconveniences caused.

Inconveniences caused. As if this were a simple grievance. As if to whoever found his self-exsanguinated corpse, the trauma could be dealt with by an apology for inconveniences caused.

“He planned this,” Nile says in sick horror when she walks back into the bathroom. In the dim yellow light from the lone bulb, the blood in the tub and all over the tiles look almost black. “He has been doing this every night for God knows how long.”

Joe meets her gaze. “I had hoped I was wrong.”

They wait until the gaping hole begins to heal. All of them breathing a sigh of relief they did not know they were holding. Only then does Andy come close to cradle his head on her lap. Between the three of them, they get Booker cleaned up as best as they could, dressed and into his own bed.

“I’ll stay here with him,” Andy says, already undoing the laces of her boots. “I don’t want him to be alone.”

“We’re all staying here with him,” Nicky chimes in before she can say anything else. “We’re not going anywhere.”

The bed was far too small for three full grown men and two women to pile onto, but they make it work with Booker safely ensconced in the middle. Andy covers his right, the lovers take either side of his hips, leaving Nile to tuck herself on a shared pillow with Booker's head. There is an unspoken need to anchor themselves on their wayward brethren. Joe and Nicky murmur to each other in soft streams of reassurance, but she catches Andy's gaze and there is a deep sadness that was heavy with regret. How they all fall asleep, she does not know, but when she opens her eyes, it's in the liminal silvery-blue of night turning into day.

"It's not a century." She hears.

"I know," Andy answers in barely a whisper. "I know."

"It was meant to be penance," Booker's tired voice fills the small space between them. "I--"

"Are a coward," Joe interrupts. Nile gives up feigning sleep. Instantly moving to be at the ready if there would be an altercation. Joe's eyes are a firebrand of heated emotions. Crawling up until he cradles Booker's cheeks between his hands. "A coward and a selfish fool."

"I know," Booker whispers, breath hitching around a sob. "I know."

Joe presses their brows together, blinking rapidly at the tears that stream down his face. "But you're my brother and I love you. This is not a world I want to be in without you. Not like this."

Booker whimpers, hand not holding on to Andy's goes to touch Joe by the nape. Nile leans in then, pressing her cheek against strong arms that move to wrap her in a hug. She feels the bed move and the shifting of the air when Andy and Nicky come to join in on their embrace. There is still so much healing to be done and Booker obviously needs more than just their forgiveness now. She doesn't know how they'll come out of this or what shape their family will take. But she has faith that whatever that will be, they'll face it together.

Fic recs featuring XiCheng with some side pairings. I decided to do this list so I can keep track. Basically, these fics are extra long coz the bitch in me doesn’t like to read short fics lol. All are complete works though. I hope this helps my fellow XiCheng shippers! I am a bitch for XiCheng and I am proud? LOL

Little Lotus by RennieOnIceCream (XiCheng mentions of WangXian)

Summary: If one asked Lan Xichen about having children a few years ago, he would’ve said the idea of a family was nice, but it was entirely impossible for him.

Having the leader of the Jiang Sect for a partner, he should’ve known -- impossibilities were always achievable.

Mpreg XiCheng fic that is light and fluffy! This is more like the journey of pregnancy featuring XiCheng.

Wish That You Were Here by Achromos (XiCheng, JingYi)

Summary: Ever since he was young, Jingyi knew that he was missing a parent. The thing that bothered him the most about this was that his a-die was clearly suffering and lonely. A fic where Jingyi is XiCheng’s love child in Modern AU. This is just so cute with a little bit of angst on both sides also, WangXian is a side pair here.

Being An Uncle Is Anything But Easy by TheWildJoker (XiCheng)

Summary: Jiang Wanyin, Jiang Cheng, Sandu Shengshou, uncle of Jin Ling, brother of Jiang Yanli. He held many titles, and worked with many different hats, but the thing in his life that was missing most was someone to assist him in his struggle at raising a barely month old, orphaned child. Cue the entrance of the eldest jade of Lan, prim, proper, and loved by all. When first met with the worn out Jiang Cheng his inability to leave others alone while they're struggling most kicked in, and leads to a lot of confusion, bad decisions, and then finally a chance for the both of them to be healed from wounds of their past.

Aaah, I love this fic so much. Basically, it started when Jiang Cheng was landed with the responsibility of raising A-Ling because he just refused or rather, he just didn’t trust Jin Guangyao with the upbringing of Jin Ling. Also, some cute A-Yuan and A-Ling interaction for those who love ZhuiLing innocence.

Never Had I Ever by Kicchin (XiCheng side WangXian/NieYao)

Summary: Nie Mingjue is almost certain that Jin Guangyao has an ulterior motive for dating his best friend, Lan Xichen. However despite voicing his concerns, his best friend seems unconvinced and Lan Xichen continues to date the said man. Unable to give up just yet, Nie Mingjue tries a different tactic--convincing his best friend the man is not the right person for him by setting him up. Fortunately for him, Wei Wuxian's youngest brother is very much single and seems to be just the kind of person his best friend needs. Can Jiang Cheng truly change Lan Xichen's mind, or will Nie Mingjue's plan is a disaster from the beginning?

A Modern AU - University style fic wherein Jiang Cheng is a freshman and Xichen is just a dork who falls in love with unsuspecting Jiang Cheng lol. This is funny but it has that tooth-decaying element XD Also, drunk Xichen is always chaotic but can be so sweet.

The Beginner’s Guide to Moving On by messenger18 (XiCheng side WangXian)

Summary: Jiang Cheng is jaded, bitter and miserable. Lan Xichen isn't sure he can ever trust anyone again. They've always been at the periphery of each other's lives, perpetually visible but never touching, and it seems it's going to stay that way. Then Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui fall in love, and everything changes.

Thrown together as the only single men in a family full of couples, neither is exactly happy about their situation. But when two lonely people find each other, sometimes they can be a little less lonely together.

A slow burn fic that involves awkward meetings, building friendship, humor and fluff that you don’t have any choice but to read more lol. But I strongly recommend this one for XiCheng fans!

葬花/Zàng huā by CrystallizedPen (XiCheng Mpreg)

Summary: One day, Sect Leader Lan just disappeared, no one knew where he went, nor why he left, not even the people closest to him knew. He left behind his sword, his token, and his forehead ribbon. He left behind everything except the silver bell that was given to him by a person that he loved, and whom he thought would love him too. Their love was beautiful like a blooming flower. But, apparently he was wrong. He should have buried this love deep inside his heart, like burying a flower that was never meant to bloom.

Heavy angst XiCheng fic that expanded for 10 years of waiting coz of some intervention. I just love angsty elements in this and Xichen is well characterized in this fic! Strongly recommended!

Monotone by seredemia (WangXian and XiCheng)

Summary: Wei Wuxian died. Wei Wuxian died and he never came back, not after thirteen years, or a hundred, or a thousand. The year is 2019 and Lan Wangji is still here, having reached the highest point of cultivation that has gifted him with immortality. It's supposed to be a gift, an honour, yet to him it's nothing but a curse. Wei Wuxian is dead, and life is colourless. Lan Wangji ghosts through time, simply living each day in monotone.That is, until he meets a man who has the same face, same name, same smile as Wei Wuxian. Suddenly, there's colour and hope back in his life—but it's not long until he realises Wei Wuxian in this timeline has not escaped the sorrow that plagued his past self.Maybe history really does repeat itself after all.

THIS IS THE GREATEST. Immortal Xichen and Wangji in search of happiness. I certainly love the dynamics and interaction of XiCheng pair in here. Contains heavy angst, self-harm and hurt and you’d get a lot of emotional rollercoaster on this one! READ THIS GUYS, YOU WON’T REGRET IT! Unfortunately, the writer took down her work in A03 for personal reasons but she provided alternative links where you can read this. (Thank goodness for that.)

The Misadventures of Secretary Jiang by rollo (XiCheng mentions of WangXian)

Summary: When the competent Secretary Jiang gave his two weeks notice all of a sudden, CEO Lan XiChen is forced to switch up his long game.

Will Secretary Jiang ever notice that he’s not just the CEO’s Secretary?

This fic is hilarious as fuck. Full of humor and mishaps between XiCheng pair. Wanna see a different side of Xichen? Like the clingy, pouty ones - well this one is for you! I’ve just recently started the series called What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and thank goodness, the author didn’t make Xichen as vain and narcissistic as the original character but all in all, if you want a light, honest to goodness fic, then I recommend this one for you!

I’ll Bind You To Me by yunkarin (XiCheng mentions of Married WangXian)

Summary: Jiang Cheng is the president of Yunmeng Cosmetics. Lan Xichen is the president of Gusu Pharmaceuticals. He and Lan Xichen have a complicated relationship, where they separate business and pleasure. How far are you willing to go to bind me to you?

A very sexy XiCheng fic with lots of sexy time. Insatiable Xichen is hot btw. If you want some kinks and smut filled read, well this one is for you!

The Form of Boneless Ice by TheWonderingHeart (XiCheng)

Summary: Mythical beasts have long ago been driven to extinction by the gentry — hunted for sport, but more importantly for their magical cores. Since then, there remains only one creature that has never been caught. The Jiang’s retreated a long time ago. Abandoning land altogether, they sought safety where the humans could not reach. It all comes to a head though, purely by chance. (Or is it by fate that a spontaneous decision allows for them to meet? If fate were a rock!) Jiang Cheng suddenly finds his whole life balanced on the head of a pin — on the flimsy promise of a human boy. In his opinion, things cannot possibly get worse!(But then they do when the Wens decide it’s finally time to search for the elusive merpeople, and suddenly nowhere is safe.)

Oh goodness, I love this one so much with innocent Jiang Cheng with the human world but still has a potty mouth lol. Mermaid AU wherein they met as children and continued their friendship until they turn into lovers. This is so sweet with angst, of course. Strongly-recommended!

Q+A With Strats and Whiskey!

We held a brief Q+A over on our Twitter, and had some awesome questions come in! We’ll post em here too for everyone to see. Have questions for us too? Hit us up on Twitter or in our ask box :D we’d love to hear from you!

Questions include asking us about the collaborative process, about writing kink together, the trust that takes, what characters we love writing most and our thoughts on writing in general!

PaleGlimmer: I asked about collab writing because I have no idea how you make it work.

WHISKEY: I’ve been collaborating on stories since I got into Hannibal. For me, it started as an offshoot of online RP. If you go back far enough you can see that, because the writing is stilted and jumpy, and you can tell that two people are writing. I’ve had three major collab partners in my fandom life and after a time our “voices” and styles start to gel and it becomes more seamless. That, for me, means that’s the right partner to write with, because you start taking on their mannerisms and descriptions, and they take on yours, and people can’t tell (or can tell very vaguely) that two people wrote a story.

As for technicalities, we just “tag” each other with part of the story for the other to continue it. Sometimes it’s short tags, dialogue, or brief descriptions, other times we get carried away (in the best way possible) and end up writing 6k a day. With Strats and I, we started with preferential characters and usually tagged for just them, but now we cover everything and everyone in our tags.

STRATS: Whiskey covered this pretty well. With Whiskey, We share characters pretty evenly now, and just write about 200-300 word chunks back and forth, but there are definitely characters we each feel more comfortable with. And scenarios we both excel at! Even if I haven’t written much, I’ll tag Whiskey in if we are coming up on something Whiskey is better at, and vice versa. (For example, Whiskey is much better at pretentious Hannibal speeches than I am, and I have a particular fondness for writing emotional breakdowns. This doesn’t mean we are the only person to write those, of course, just that we tag each other in more often.)

If I’m writing with anyone else, I usually write the same way. There’s only one person I’ll still do RP-style writing with. Usually I try to match my partner’s style, so for example, when I wrote with YAMD I focused a lot more on detailed descriptions than I usually do. I can’t really describe it, I just try to align with how my partner writes.

I’M NOT VERY HELPFUL, SORRY :D

1. What do you love about writing?

STRATS: When you finally get to that moment, that scene you’ve been thinking about for AGES, the one you have entirely plotted for weeks.

Also, writing emotional breakdowns. Give me a sobbing panic attack any day.

WHISKEY: The moment you hit the flow point and everything just makes sense; either an idea just CLICKS or you finally get over that plot point you were worried about and you are racing through.

2. What do you hate about writing?

STRATS: god why haven’t we yet invented a way for me to think words onto the page? I’M SO TIRED.

WHISKEY: That meme? The one that goes like “I need this very specific fic and I need it immediately… which means I need to write it… but I just wanna read it, not write it”. That.

3. One writing tip that you could give to other writers.

STRATS: When I was a teenager I came across some writing advice from an author I loved (I want to say Steven King, but it’s been years). The advice was “sit down and actually write.” And I was PISSED. As a teenager struggling with motivation, I hated that advice.

Now I’m almost 27 and I can safely say that the best writing advice I can give you is JUST FUCKING WRITE THE THING. Even on days I feel like my writing is garbage, I force out a bit of garbage. Force your way through the shitty parts so you can get to the fun parts. You can always go back and edit the shitty parts later (and often it turns out they weren’t as shitty as you thought they were).

WHISKEY: Practice. I’m sorry, I’m trite and boring but honestly that’s the only way you will get better, get into a habit of writing all the time, and start to find your own voice. Practice even just 100 words a day, coz that’s 100 words more than you had yesterday.

4. One overused word in fanfics?

WHISKEY: Oh god our beta actually points these out now haha! I’m terrible for teeth/tongue/lip action (he tongued the corner of his mouth, flashed his teeth, bit his lip)

STRATS: any time someone’s smile “quirks up at the corners” or you read the words “fluttering/thrumming pulse,” that’s me. It’s always me. I have been called out on the hummingbird pulse before.

5. Have you guys disagreed on a story direction? If yes, how do you resolve that?

WHISKEY: I don’t think we have *disagreed* really, once in a while we find that a story doesn’t flow how it should, and we start over, or a character we had planned in our head ends up written differently on a tag. In that case we usually just ping the other and explain what we were after (we have a chat always open alongside writing) and figure out what works best for the story. I can think of a couple times that’s happened and it’s always a super chill and fair affair; both of us have “won” those kinds of things before.

STRATS: We gel really well together, and often our stories are at least loosely planned out from the beginning, so it doesn’t come up much. Every once in a while one of us says “so I don’t think this is working” and we usually do our best to find a way to change it around. It’s not really “fun” to write together if you’re making your partner write something they aren’t happy with, so we try to take each other’s opinions into account.

6. How did you guys manage to let the other into your thought process? Writing is intimate. With a writing partner, that person knows what your kinks, opinions about things, etc. are. Was it scary to let that person in and see you being vulnerable with your works? This is assuming that you let your personality bleed through your stories.

So, this is an awesome question actually, thanks for asking it, and the answer might sound a bit weird so bear with us! We both get a bit of a (major) crush on our writing partners when we write, and after. Not in a way that would be considered cheating or manipulative but in a way that is… intimate. You said it right that it’s intimate. Neither of us want to date the other (besides, Strats is married) but we love each other and spend a lot of time together with our writing.

There is a lot of trust there, and opening up is a process. I think with Strats and I, we started talking about a kink we shared (human furniture) and it sort of bled out from there. “Oh, I also like bondage! And I’m a huge fan of cock and ball torture, you into that?” and it grew from there.

There were some kinks that we came across that we’d both agree were not our jam and we’d just put them away, and there were some kinks that at one point were not one of our kinks but now we share them. These are interesting ones because it happened absolutely organically; neither of us ever push the other into kinks we know make the other uncomfortable, but we do offer the chance, if one of us is so inclined.

For Whiskey this was ABO and feminization, for Strats it’s underage. Once in a while we’ll push a little to see how we feel about those things, but there’s always a carte blanche to back out if anything makes us uncomfortable. It’s honestly such a safe place to explore these things that we really love it. Also both of us are super kinky and very open about it so there’s usually VERY little (if any) filter when we talk sex/kink.

Blue Posey: Where do you get the ideas from? Your stories are so varied.

WHISKEY: We shamelessly pluck ideas from the Hannigram Kinkmeme on Discord, we have about 150 saved in a spreadsheet that we random number generate from when we want a new idea. Sometimes it’s AUs of movies or other shows that we like, sometimes it’s just an idea that we’ve had that we put out into the void and one of us will freak out and connect it to something.

STRATS: we also both keep track of twitter and tumblr and will send each other prompts based on those. We are following quite a few non-fandom porn accounts…

and of course, sometimes I wake up at four am and text whiskey absolute gibberish and in the morning we write a fic.

Christina Shinn: I always like knowing about what gets writers really excited about their own fics. How writers overcome their writer's block. What motivates writers. What are some pet peeves of writers. YAY! Love your fics!

WHISKEY: 1. I get excited about fics I know people are excited about. If Strats pings me with a story idea and she’s stoked about it, I’ll catch that fever and be entirely into exploring that story. Likewise if someone commissions us or requests a story that really digs its heels in.

STRATS: 1) I’ve gotten a LITTLE less vain now that I do commissions and gifts for other people, but generally, every single thing I have written is something I’ve wanted to read, and so I love rereading it. Sometimes I’ll cringe at a typo or a mistake or an awkward line, but overall, I love everything I write. I have spent hours retreading my own fics before. Write the kind of story you want to read!

WHISKEY: 2. Writer’s block is an asshole and honestly I have no actual “fix it” for you; collab writing definitely helps because you have someone to soundboard off of, but even then sometimes we find ourselves just stuck. That’s when we start yet another original story XD

STRATS: 2) Writer's block occasionally eats me alive. If it’s REALLY hitting you, take a day off. It’s okay. Take a break. Do something fun.

But once that day is over WRITE THE THING. Write something terrible. Just do it. You can always fix it later

WHISKEY: 3. Collab writing is hugely motivating for me, it’s an immediate and awesome feedback loop of love. You tag, you send it off, and someone FINDS THAT IDEA COOL ENOUGH TO CONTINUE and ping you back, and you have new material to work with that didn’t come out of your head and… it’s great, it really is. Also feedback from readers. Even if it’s critique (note: not “I hated this” but “this could have been done differently imo”) it’s a great way to keep growing and moving as a writer.

STRATS: 3) collab writing is really motivating for me because I am a Guilt Monster and other people are relying on me. For my own stuff, I’m motivated because I’m writing something I like. Something I want to reread later.

If a story isn’t working for you (and it isn’t required for some sort of work or whatever), stop writing it. Go write something you like. It’s okay to say “actually, I don’t want to write this one anymore.”

WHISKEY: 4. I think every writer has a pet peeve regarding their own headcanons. Some people hate endearments with a pairing, but have their own pet names that work for them in their personal headcanon. In others’ work? There are certain things that irk me, but they’re also entirely personal. If I feel that a character has been written really OOC in a fic that is marked as canon for instance, it grinds my gears. THAT SAID that’s also the writer’s own prerogative.

STRATS: 4) I have too many pet peeves to mention because I am a snob, but I still have relatively low standards for what I’ll read, so I’ve read a vast variety of things.

Besides what Whiskey said about characterization, I have a few aspects of life that I’m somewhat knowledgeable about, and I can’t stand when people get it WRONG. Special mention goes to people writing children badly, which is the entire reason Family of Choice exists. If you don’t have children or know children, PLEASE do some research into child development before you write them. It drives me up the wall when kids are doing things they shouldn’t be at that age. NEWBORNS. DON’T. GIGGLE.

I just saw your appreciation post now but thank you so much!

I thought really hard about what song would be best for a fic and settled on Lights by BTS with either Jimin, Yoongi or Namjoon!

I’ve been having a Hell of a time working at the movie theater and waiting for my laptop to get fixed so I can properly begin writing again and been stressing super hard about college and a kpop school I’ll be going to in my 2nd or 3rd semester but this song just really resonated me; as did your post. It really made me smile lovely thank you so much for the inclusion!

Your writing is always such a treat to read and Take My Hands Now will probably always be in my top fics. Love you and keep doing what you do best- being you! 😘 -Sheridan

You lay on your bed in the brightness of the morning sun that filtered in through the glass window etched into the slanted roof. This was the 154th Sunday you spent without him.

Your phone buzzes next to you, there was no point checking it anymore. The only calls or messages you received were spam anyway. You should probably get some breakfast, but you let yourself lie in bed for a little longer, making up the excuse that the sun rays were too warm to walk away from.

You tossed around and planted your face into the pillow, a gush of sourness running through the veins in your eyelids. Will he ever return to you?

♫ “Sunday, when I can’t answer any calls or texts I’m not in the mood for anything Though not very often, I feel sick of it I feel a little helpless right now” ♫

You walked down the long spiraling stairs and out of the antiquated front door. You took a few steps back before looking up, the whiteness of the roof reflected the sunlight and made the tower look like it was glowing.

“You are a lighthouse to me. But when I am not here, I wish you would be a lighthouse to whoever may need it”, his words resounded in the air. With that reminder, you trotted down the grayish path on top of the breakwater, heading towards the rocky coastline.

In the time he has not been around, you had saved 29 people, pulling them from the icy water, just like he had done for you.

Although it had been many years ago, that night remains vivid in your mind. You had closed your eyes, not wanting to see this world any more. Night times were the worst. In the darkness, the lights from each house, the light from each star, made each of them stand out more. Even as you were submerged in this darkness, the lights refracted through it. As if they were mocking you, the sole blackhole that did not allow brightness to exist.

But the magic of light is this - even when you closed your eyes, it finds a way in, it penetrates through and it reaches you.

“It’s not your time yet”, his voice was the most angelic. He has watched you for almost a year, month after month, and today he had been worried that it would be the last time.

“Who are you?”, you coughed, hair and clothes all soaked.

“Someone who is breaking the rules for you…”, he sits down next to you, the waves crashing into the rocks below.

His name is Jimin, and he’s been around for a long time, longer than he could remember. His sole purpose was to guide the souls lost at sea to the afterlife. It was a harrowing job at first, but as time went by, he gradually became desensitised. But you made him feel again.

They only get to stay away from the sea one day in a month, and he had told you to wait for him in this lighthouse if you wanted to meet him again. This was his lighthouse, nobody else could enter, it helps him find the shore when he gets too tired or when everything becomes too disorienting. Even though it was unbelievable, even though you were somewhat afraid, you still waited and met him, that month, the next month, the month after. He was like the lighthouse keeping you away from hitting the rocks and drowning.

“Why did you save me that night?”, you leaned against his shoulders comfortably snuggled in his embrace as you both sat on the bed. He was looking at the night sky through the glass roof, beams of light pulsing rhythmically towards the sea.

“Because your soul was too bright”, he answered and you wondered if it was ironic since you had felt like your soul was hurting so much. He kisses your forehead gently, “thank you for being here, for being my lighthouse. Now I see the light so much better out at sea, because I know you are here, waiting for me.”

He tirelessly went back to sea the day after, flying with wings wider than an albatross. His wings were clipped on one side, and you had once asked him why. He told you there are souls who are kind, there are souls who are hurting, and there are souls who are evil. He was never to judge any of them, he only had to take them to the afterlife. But even then, he was often hurt by them. Even when people die, their souls don’t change much it seems.

“Is it wrong if I say I love you?”, you hugged him before he left again, wanting to hold on to him just a little longer.

“Love should never be wrong, Y/N. If it can be wrong then I guess I will be the first to be punished…”, he replied with a sadness in his eyes. His slender fingers pushes your hair away from your eyes, the sea breeze chilly, but his embrace always warm.

What kind of punishment does a person in love deserve? 154 Sundays of loneliness? 154 weeks of longing? And counting…

You walked around shore the whole day, scanning around to see if there was anyone nearby. You put on your headphones as the sky turned darker and the first song which came on was too bright, so you skipped it and the next one too, until you reached one that was sorrowful enough.

♫ “I don’t wanna listen to just happy songs I’ll face my loneliness, color my life Losing and gaining, but I’m still searching for something today” ♫

Why was this song so sorrowful? Was it the lyrics? Was it the tune? Or was it because he once sang it to you in his soft mellow voice?

The things you used to think about flood back to you again. They nibble at your soul again. The darker the night grew, the darker the voices became. You crouched down, breathes short and fast, hands clutching the part of your chest where your heart rests beneath. It hurts so much, how do people endure such darkness?

“I’m your light”, the lyrics of the song chants, and it was as if you could hear his voice singing it to you. You cannot give up. He said he can see the light better because you were there, you wouldn’t want him to lose the only light he has in the darkness either.

♫ “Yeah I believe that things will change No one is perfect Even this moment has its own meaning And we are connected by sound” ♫

You continued walking down the coastline, that was when you see her struggling in the water. You ran into the freezing water without a second thought as she loses consciousness. Diving into the sea, you looked around for her but the water was pitch dark around you and there was an intense fear within you.

The salty seawater was starting to sting your eyes and you closed them momentarily. When you opened your eyes again, one of the rotating beams from the tower flashes right into the water further away from you and finally you spot her floating there.

You swam across as fast as you could and dragged her back to shore.

You wrapped her in the blankets and let her take the bed. She was shivering the whole night but you nursed her well with hot water bottles, warm milk and medicine.

As she finally went to sleep, you look up at the flashing light, thanking it. For keeping you alive, for keeping her alive.

You didn’t sleep at all that night. This was the 30th person you saved. Some of them went in by accident, some of them regretted that they attempted, some of them unrepentant and you could only wonder if they will look for other ways.

But you learnt one thing. You weren’t alone after all, life wasn’t only mean to you. If darkness was a diseases, then light is probably the cure. The question was how do we find our cure? For each person it must be a different path, or perhaps, the cure finds us sometimes.

You thought you had found yours, but you never knew that it was so elusive. Was he afraid to come back because you had fallen in love with him? He belongs, quite literally, in an entirely different world from you after all. The flashes of light overhead reminded you of why you were here.

If not for him, you would have left this world a long time ago, without ever experiencing what it was like to be loved. Until the day he says it to you himself, until the day he tells you to leave, you will willingly stay here as his lighthouse.

Her name was Lucy, she lost her job and her boyfriend left her for another girl.

“They always say we decide what it means to be happy”, she sobbed as you were making her breakfast the next morning, “and I had decided. It was my dream to marry him and have a family… and I was happy just being the team manager at my company. I had decided what makes me happy. But then… what’s the point… it’s all lies…”

Sometimes when we settle down in happiness, life throws a curve ball and wrecks everything. “These are just growing pains”, “everything will pass”, “you will find happiness in other things”, you were often consoled in this way too.

But you knew better than that, some things are just irreplaceable.

“Hold it in your heart then, the darkness that is the happiness taken away from you”, you sat opposite her, handing her a plate of toast.

“If you can’t let it go then keep it there. The more darkness you hold, the more precious you will find the light to be”, you continued.

The people who lost the most are also the ones who treasure what they have the most.

A week passes and Lucy stayed with you. You two would walk along the shore every day, she even tried fishing one day, although she only ended up getting angry that none of the fishes were taking her bait.

“Are you waiting for someone here?”, she asks you suddenly over dinner.

“No… I just stay here alone”

“I know what it’s like to be waiting for someone you love. You don’t have to hide it… I can sense it whenever you look out at the sea. I hope he comes back soon”, her eyes looked straight into yours, just like a torch shining right in.

♫ “But it’s okay sometimes To show weakness It’s okay to be you Don’t lie to yourself any more Everything connects by sound” ♫

“I think it’s time for me to leave, I should go now”, Lucy beams at you and waved.

You smiled back at her and told her to be careful on her way.

“If you are going to keep staying here, maybe you should fix the light…”, she suggests candidly.

“What do you mean? The light is not spoilt, don’t you see it flashing every night?”, you frowned in befuddlement.

“Really? I thought it wasn’t working, I didn’t see anything at all”, she became even more puzzled and you grew increasingly concerned.

You stood at the junction where the breakwater meets the shore. The sun was setting, and on cue, the lights flashes from the roof of the white tower. Lucy couldn’t see the lights? Why? You felt a chill down your spine and looked around.

The air was as still as the impending night but you spotted a man standing halfway on the breakwater. How? You didn’t see anyone walking down the breakwater and you are standing right here at the entrance.

“Sir, can I help you?”, you walked up to the man who looked rather aged.

He chuckles softly, the sounds rolling in his chest, before saying, “Sometimes it is the other person that needs help. Maybe I could help you with something?”

You were so confused but you decided what’s the harm of just asking him one question first, “Hmmm… do you perhaps see the lights from this lighthouse?”

“Do you?”, he asks cryptically.

“I do… I see it every night”, you answered.

“And what do you think the lights mean?”

You did not answer, and he smiles knowingly at you.

“So long as the lights keep flashing, it means that he is alive. Don’t worry about that, just keep doing what you do now and he will come back”, he discloses.

“Who- wait… you mean… are you talking about Jimin?”, your eyes widen. “Do you know him? Where is he now? Tell me please…”, you begged him.

“You can’t go to where he is now… he is receiving his punishment, just like you are”, he answers.

“What for? I… is it because of me?”, you voice began to shake.

“It is because of you… he should have sent you on, but he broke the rules. Now he is being punished. So, all the more, keep his post well and wait for him. That’s all I’m here to say”, he casually instructed you.

“What am I supposed to do? How long will he take to come back? What if I can’t wait until then? And I can’t possibly do what he does…”, you quibbled, reminding him of your mortal limitations.

“Why wouldn’t you be able to? You have already been doing a little of his job for a while now”, he looked up at the lighthouse, “… and why do you think you can see the light but other people can’t?”

You still had no idea when Jimin would come back. But you will wait for him, so long as the light flashes every night.

And now you understand, you were not a light that was saving lives, you were only saving souls.

September- Viv and Andy part 2

On my previous trip to New Zealand in 2008, I and my friends spent a crazy month driving around the whole country with multiple stops and lots of road time, this time round I wanted to spend less time in the car and more time doing things. Top of Viv and Andy’s list was Whale watching in Kaikoura which is on the South Island near Christchurch. With our base in Auckland we decided to fly down meaning maximum time doing stuff and no long days hauling ass down the country. Domestic travel is super easy in NZ so I booked us some last minute fights to Christchurch for the Monday and with no plans till the next day we were able to take our time and minimise travel stress.

We got in mid-afternoon and with google maps in hand tried to work out where our hostel was in relation to the airport, fairly typically I remember it being the opposite side of town, but decent buses and small bags meant it wasn’t too much of a hardship. We stayed at a youth hostel near the botanical gardens in a 3 person room, I guess meant for a family with one child, Viv and I hadn’t shared a room for a good few years so that was a bit weird; but it was comfy enough and we were going to be out most of the time anyway. After a quick freshen up, and a mini google, we headed back out to find somewhere to eat, Monday night in a big city, shouldn’t be too hard eh?

The town centre was absolutely dead. The shopping streets were clean and well-kept with big high street brands, wide streets with multiple pedestrian crossings and yet no people around except us. There didn’t appear to be any little bars dotted around, no bustling restaurants, the only place we found that had a few restaurants/bars in one location was dark and shut up. Perhaps this is different at the weekend, but it gave a slightly abandoned vibe, since the 2011 earthquake it seems lot of people left town for safety/work/the ability to drive on roads that hadn’t collapsed; and really you can’t blame them. We eventually found a small place that was one of those airstream caravans with a heated outdoor seating area that did burgers and pints of beer, by this point we were pretty hungry so it would have been good but honestly, I remember it being particularly good. On the way back to the hostel we passed a giant old school joystick controller mounted in the pavement which was linked with a large screen on the side of a building, with this you could play a giant game of space invaders. Again, we were the only people around in the streets so we played undisturbed for some time; although Andy was the only one good at it so after a while we gave up.

We were picked up Tuesday morning by a local man with a van who drove us all the way up to Kaikoura for the day, it’s about a 3 hour journey so a lot of driving for a day trip, but if you wanna see whales, Kaikoura is where you need to be. It was also really great to have a local drive us as we didn’t know much about the earthquake, save what had been on the news, so getting his insight and experience was sobering but important. On the way out the city, he pointed out some of the local sights that were no longer there, including the CTV building that completely collapsed leading to 115 of the 185 deaths in the disaster. The roads up the coast were also all twisted and broken having been fixed up slowly over the previous 7 years, at one point completely undriveable due to landslides and collapse. They took a long time to be fixed to the point of everyday use partly due to the extensive damage but also lack of money in region (Canterbury is quite a large area to share a budget).

Looking into the earthquake, the reason it was so devastating was three fold:

1) It measured 6.3 on the Richter scale, the epicentre was only 6 and half km from the city centre and it was shallow. This meant there was simultaneous vertical and horizontal ground movement, with eye witness accounts describing people being ‘tossed in the air’ as well as increased liquefaction causing more ground movement, undermining many building foundations.

2) There had been 2 large quakes in 2010, one measuring 7.1, which had already weakened some buildings and infrastructure in and around the city.

3) It was midday so the city centre were full

We made our way fairly slowly up the coast with a bit of chat and narration, over the last 7 years despite the money problems, a lot of work had been done to make these roads passable. Highways in New Zealand are pretty much all single lane and in most places it’s the only road, so with highway 1 out of commission there is no way north from Christchurch without going across to the west coast and back again (a 400km dogleg.) We were booked on a whale tour in the early afternoon and arrived with just enough time to have a loo stop and a quick drink before heading out; we had to watch a health and safety video first which was basically, boat go fast/sit down. The company then took us the last bit of the way to the harbour and onto the boats which were catamaran style and set up inside with swish bucket seats. The boat was pretty full with what seemed to be one large group of Chinese tourists so if we had any hope of getting 3 seats together and by the window we needed to be quick; I knew from experience that I get a bit sick so having somewhere to sit inside where you can still see the sea is useful. After another small health and safety talk (boat fast/sit) we were on our way; most of these tours have the ‘if we don’t see anything we’ll book you on another tour’ policy which isn’t always great coz people don’t tend to hang around Kaikoura for more than the day they’re booked, but it does mean the company would lose money so they really want to see something as much as we do.

Sick as a dog, I spent the whole time sitting outside on the back staring at the horizon coz I was told staring at a stationary line can help (it didn’t) but I made it through without spewing so I call that a win. We didn’t see much to begin with but these boats are set up with all sorts of underwater gadgets so they can try to identify where whales can be located. Kaikoura sits at the southern end of the Hikurangi trench which has depths of 3km very close to shore which has led to a large number of deep sea species ending up here; this food source is pretty irresistible to whales and so unlike a lot of places they can regularly be seen within a short distance of the coast. The boat sent out a pulse thing and the responding squeaks gave us a heading and eventually we came upon some sperm whales; the sickness subsided for a few minutes so I could watch and take some pics. To be honest, the whales were great, but even just being on the sea and looking back across the southern alps was amazing enough to justify the days travel, I’ve never heard my sister exclaim as much as our drive up once we got near the mountains. We returned to the harbour and were met by our driver who took us into Kaikoura for our included fish supper, having felt sick for the last few hours a giant pile of chips with decent ketchup was literally the best.

On our journey back we went at our own pace stopping for photos across Kaikoura, the southern alps and the pacific ocean; every one suitable for display like most of the south island. We also came across roughly a billion seals lying on spits of rock right next to the coastal road who were totally unfazed by our proximity and were, I swear, posing. The main bulk of the journey back we spent listening to our own things, I’m pretty sure I had the newest episode of ‘My dad wrote a porno’ which I was trying to get through without disturbing the driver or laugh so hard he asked what I was listening to. Having consulted my guests, we cannot remember what we did that night so it was clearly super important but having had a long day I’m sure we just flopped into bed.

Our flight back wasn’t until the evening so we had the whole day to play with in Christchurch; I wanted to go to the earthquake memorial which was a short walk through town. I had been the CHCH briefly in 2008 but only stayed for a half day due to time constraints so I don’t really remember what it looked like; I only really have a picture in my head of an old cathedral with a spire on a square. This, as it turns out, was the famous Christchurch cathedral who’s spire fell in 2011 and still wasn’t safe for visitors so they had built a ‘transitional cathedral’ while they fixed up the original. This was right next to the earthquake memorial so we were able to see both; the memorial ‘185 empty white chairs’ is a sombre little patch of grass on a junction with a bunch of chairs all painted white to represent the 185 people that lost their lives. The chairs are all different and range from wicker to kitchen to office to wheelchair, there’s even a baby carrier as sadly there were some children who died. There is discussion of how to make this memorial permanent as the chairs are just made of normal chair material and have required some upkeep and painting since 2012; I think it’s totally worthwhile as it’s a poignant reminder of the 5th worst disaster in NZ history.

After lunch we still had some time so we headed to the Canterbury museum in the botanical gardens, here there was a large exhibition on Antarctic exploration as a number of famous expeditions have taken off from CHCH. Now people tend to travel from Chile or Argentina as it’s a shorter journey by sea and they come to the Antarctic Peninsula which has a lot of wildlife, however, what’s-his-name Scott and thingy Shackleton didn’t know this in advance so left from NZ on a few trips. I don’t remember what else was in the museum but we did head to the café for a cuppa and large piece of cake before retracing our steps from a few days earlier and heading to the airport. I was really hoping for us to get back in time for my regular Wednesday night pub quiz at Zac’s bar; we just about made it only missing the first round. As we were 3 extra we had to form our own team so Canterbury UNT were not the same size as all the other teams put together; I don’t remember how we did but I’m sure we won. Right?

Nicole's random vote for Issy is weird and mildly concerning, but not too much so. The hosts have asked me to rank the players, so I am going to rank them in order of How Likely I Am To Give My Jury Vote To This Person. 6 – Emmot: This paranoid, flip-floppy motherfuck right here. Fuck you, dude. Pick a side. Don't try and play both. I can't see a world where I vote for you. 5 – Nicole: Don't get me wrong, being able to mostly count on your vote is great. But at the end of the day, we haven't talked game. You've been Ruthie's appendage and that's it. 4 – Lena: If our Family has a weak link, strategically speaking, it's Lena. I love her, but she's mostly just a vote at this point – a vote who holds an Idol, maybe. Definitely the fourth wheel, definitely not getting my vote unless I have to. 3 – Issy: I respect her iron will to eliminate me. I don't respect her complete lack of ability to make it happen, or lack of flexibility. Survivor is a game of adaptation, and she's banging her head against the brick wall. Richie and Ruthie are obviously the top two, and my vote between them really would depend on how I went out of the game, and how they got themselves to the end. It would be a tough choice between the for me, and I can't make that call now. Before I get to talking about blind week, I once again want to wax philosophical about the game. Specifically, I'm sure that a lot of people will be looking at my play in retrospect and saying “dude, what the fuck?” Because from a purely strategic standpoint, my insistence on keeping the Family intact and, specifically, keeping both Richie and Ruthie in, is strategic suicide. I'm aware of this. I've said before that I take these games really seriously, and I play with everything I've got. I genuinely, regardless of what happens, like the people I'm aligned with. And I want to see them do well, even at my own expense. So I have a tough choice ahead of me, now, at this moment. Strategically, I should start looking to cut Richie and/or Ruthie soon here, because they kick my ass at the end. But I don't know if I have a cold enough heart to do it, is the thing. Blind Week is so ugly. This is so simple, guys. Each person has a 1/7 shot at having Immunity, the odds are in our favor if we just pile onto one person.
