#also the fact that sakura doesn't have a ring

Tumblr media
Some other people found out from the teaser that Saki has a ring on one of her fingers, likely a wedding one. It doesn't seem like any of the other girls have rings, so she might be the only one in this sequel that is married, initially at least.
My hope is that she's married to Mai, or Michiru, I'm not picky, but it's most likely to a man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Off the top of my head, there are two possibilities from the original Splash Star. The first is Mai's older brother, Kazuya, who Saki is very clearly crushing on throughout the season, but it seemed more like an unrequited love a young girl might have for an older boy the same way in Cardcaptor Sakura where Sakura has a crush on Yukito.
The other option is Kenta, the boy that Saki occasionally banters with, and he also seems to crush on her a few times early on, but as the season progressed, their "romance" didn't really develop, like Saki never really saw him as anything more than a friend. I wouldn't be that opposed to him being her husband, since he's not bad compared to some of the other guy love interests in this franchise later on.
They could also just make up a man for Saki to be married too, and it's not like that's unrealistic, you don't always end up marrying your childhood friends/first love. In my opinion, that would feel a bit odd, because OtonaPre has about a 10-20 year timeskip from when we last saw these women, so to start off with Saki married to someone we know basically nothing about, feels a bit cheap, unless there is enough backstory to make it work. Even so, it's still up in the air how many episodes OtonaPre has, so I'm not sure they'd want to spend too much time laying the groundwork for that potential new character.
Moving onto Mai, it would be really sad if Saki was the only one of the two who got married. Like, for better or worse, in Splash Star, Saki is shown to be crushing on guys, while Mai didn't get as much development regarding romance, other than acting like a third wheel for Saki's endeavors. I don't recall Mai ever falling in love with a guy, in fact, you could say she was in love with Saki instead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similarly, in the original Futari wa, Nagisa was the one who got most of the romantic development. Hell, in Max Heart, Honoka barely got episodes focused on her while Nagisa had several where she tried to vie for Fuji-P. Should they be in OtonaPre, and although I don't want it to happen, Nagisa would probably end up with Fuji-P. It would be such a shame, because one of her traits in the original anime is that she's popular with the girls, even getting love letters from them. She exclaims how she'd rather be popular with the boys than girls, but in a later episode, she says that if Honoka was a boy, she'd be in love with her, which I think does a good job at hinting towards her closeted feelings. I really detest the trope where romance between girls is seen as a thing to "grow out of," like it's just a schoolgirl fad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regarding Honoka, they don't really give her much in hetero romance. There are like, three guys that I can think of that only maybe could be paired with her, barring another new man they invent. The first is Fuji-P's friend/teammate, Kimata, but he barely interacts with Honoka at all, and I would hate that, because it would feel like a "consolation prize" if Nagisa ended up with Fuji-P. The second is Kiriya, the former Dotsuku Zone denizen who infiltrated their school to try and defeat them, only to end up developing a strong bond with the sisterly Honoka, but I never really saw this as a budding romance, especially on Honoka's end. Plus, Kiriya basically dipped by the end of the original Futari wa, and didn't even show up in Max Heart, so it would just feel like an afterthought if they paired them together with that missing development. The third option is Nagisa's younger brother, Ryouta, who has a crush on Honoka, but, lmao, that's really just played as a joke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, I think the anime actually portrays Honoka as being mostly uninterested in boys, despite being popular with them. She rejects all of their advances, says that if she were to go out with a boy, there'd need to be mutual respect, which implies that she doesn't feel respected by them and thus doesn't even consider them. There's also the fact that she admires Nagisa's popularity with the girls, which I feel hints at something a bit more about her romantic desires. I could go on here, but I hope this gets my point across.
To sum it up, Saki ending up with a family while Mai doesn't would create such a disappointing incongruity for these two women who were very intertwined in the anime we watched them in. The same is true of Nagisa and Honoka should they also appear. I would rather none of them end up with any romantic conclusion (thus leaving it up to interpretation) whatsoever than only some of them having it.

I'm curious for your thoughts on Dan Hibiki
Tumblr media
Dan is real special to me mainly because he was the first time I actually had fun cosplaying, in terms of putting the outfit together and attending the event. I was very young at the time but he was my second cosplay, with the first technically being Bison the year before but I barely remember going as Bison and the costume was basically rented whole, where as with Dan I actually had to take the time to put him together peacemeal.
Looking for shitty ponytails and testing out hair gels and glue to get that doofy spit curl right, ruining a judo gi by cutting the sleeves and dying it pink, painting the eyebrows and kanji in the back and practicing those dumb faces and animations of his, and I was really happy that day with the reception I got. Best part of that day by far was when they were doing this cosplay wrestling thing where people could sign up to enter the ring, and I got to really ham it up with the taunts and pratfalls and Dan-isms I memorized from heart (and I did play the fucker a lot in SSFIV, not even ironically, his Hurricane Kick and normals were really solid in IV) and just, one of the most fun times I ever had. I think of Dan pretty fondly for that if nothing else.
Tumblr media
Although frankly I think I like him a little less nowadays than I used to, mainly because a lot of the other characters grew on me more or got better redesigns over the years where as Dan's just, Dan, and Dan's always gonna be Dan, no more no less, little room for improvement because he was just kinda perfect at what he set out to do from the go. I think some of that also has to do with the fact that he pulled Blanka big time into his joke character orbit for well over a decade and I'm not really a fan of that? Idk it definitely got better with 5 and especially 6, just for a while there Blanka's role as being primarily Dan and Sakura's dumb sidekick really sucked and made me resent them a little, still can't say I'm too big a fan even if he doesn't take a backseat to them as much anymore.
Dan becoming essentially one of the co-protagonists of Street Fighter over the years I think has a lot to do with the devs figuring out over the decades that there was a lot more they could do with the character, besides taking potshots at SNK (and honestly in that regard, I feel like Remy does it better, in spite or maybe because they don't play him as a joke on purpose). And I do think Dan has several legs up other fighting game joke characters and not just because he came first, not just because he's funny, but because he's filling in some important niches and they ground him in just enough legitimacy, from a lore and gameplay perspective, that he's worth bringing back. Dan is a joke, but he is also important, in his own way, he's an important character for Street Fighter to have.
If your setting and story are defined as a gathering of the greatest fighters and representatives of martial arts and countries the world over, you kinda do have to address what does a Bad Fighter, The Worst Fighter, representing The Worst Martial Arts, looks like, and basing it on "the guys that ripped us off" is the icing on the gag. Both Dan and Sakura were designed around parodies of the Art of Fighting characters, but they did the right call in assigning Yuri Sakazaki's childish braggart antics to Dan and letting Sakura be treated more seriously.
As much as I may complain that Dan dragged Blanka into the funnyman idiot orbit, Dan's existence prevents a lot of other characters from becoming parodies of themselves (more so than they became, at least), at minimum it definitely pumped the breaks on Blanka and Sakura from doing that because, no matter what, they'd always have to suck less than Dan, because nobody (cept maybe Rufus) is allowed to suck more than Dan (I feel like Sean's joke status was a total misfire, but more on him when I got to Sean).
Tumblr media
Dan also works because he's got a legitimate backstory and motivation to be here, and to be the way he is: His father was the one to take out Sagat's eye and Sagat mauled him to death in the ring for it, and desperately driven to take revenge, he took up training under Ryu and Ken's master Gouken until being expelled when Gouken learned his true intentions (and the last time a man with power-hungry intentions was trained in Ansatsuken, Akuma happened), and so Dan had to fill out the rest of his training on his own, which is why his playstyle is the way it is, why he's like Ryu but bad. Dan fills out the other end of a scale occupied by the prior shotos, the worst practicioner there is, the lame and pathetic counterpart to Ryu and Ken opposite Akuma as the strongest. Akuma is Bad Ryu, and Dan is Bad Ryu but in a totally opposite sense. He had symmetry with the existing characters and his backstory was treated with as much seriousness as he can be allowed to have, which isn't much most of the time, but just enough.
Dan being a joke from an in-universe also wound up lending a lot of meaning to Sagat's character arc, because Dan became the catalyst for Sagat's redemption. Sagat was confronted by this pathetic fool wholly consumed by revenge and struggling fruitlessly to defeat a stronger martial artist, and he saw himself in Dan, himself and his obsession with Ryu and the lows he'd stooped to in order to achieve that revenge, and so he lets Dan win, giving Dan his one and only victory that we know of. Sagat, at his lowest point emotionally in the series, who is still supremely prideful and regal and very much not a nice man even as a hero.
The strongest man alive letting the weakest man beat him in a fight to save said man from ending up just like him. If it was against anyone else, it wouldn't be anywhere near as meaningful, but starting the supremely prideful and mighty Sagat's redemption arc by having him realize the futility of his vendetta and let himself get beaten by Dan of all people, The Final Boss letting The Joke Character humiliate him, I think was a very inspired choice.
Tumblr media
Much as I enjoy his characterization, I do miss a little how Dan was depicted sometimes in the Alpha series, where he'd be treated with a little more seriousness. Like in the backstory blurb describing how Gou died and how Dan still wakes up with nightmares about it, or in Sakura Ganbaru where Dan's kind of a comedic straightman to Sakura and they take some steps to show that Dan IS knowledgeable and observant about ki and martial arts, and is even pretty good at beating average fighters in local circuits; it's just he's Dan, y'know, and all his hard work and self-mythologizing can't make up for his incomplete training, ego issues and him hanging around Sakura and Blanka, who are freakishly talented and either quickly surpass his teachings or, in Blanka's case, never actually need it.
I don't like the Udon comics very much but I do think they get this right, I like the emphasis they put on Dan having a genuinely impressive ability to take a beating and playing up Dan as a guy who gets up to all these offscreen adventures and picked up all these other skills to make up for his incomplete training (and him becoming Chairman of the CWA I thought was pretty inspired). It nicely reflects what the games have done with him, where he's always showing off new skills and moves added to his playstyle, his fireballs get a little farther and stronger every game (and he doesn't fling himself back when firing them anymore), some characters even comment on his progress and potential. Dan is a joke by World Warrior standards, but by regular person or fighter standards, he can be impressive.
Tumblr media
And I think Dan also stuck around the way he did because there's a certain necessity for a character who pokes holes at the premise and mythology, not just a comic relief for levity sake but someone who's there to help the writing avoid the pitfalls of excessive self-seriousness. A character who's an absurd cartoon of a martial artist but not in the cool badass way all the other characters are absurd cartoons of martial artists, instead someone who's kinda lame and full of himself the way that, really, most martial artists, especially self-taught, can be. Everyone on Street Fighter, no matter how nice they are as people or what truly motivates them, is joining the tournament sure that their martial arts are the strongest and that they can and will make their way to the top by beating all the other inferior fighters standing in their way. Dan is like that, it's just that nobody takes him seriously for it. He may not even be the funniest joke character in fighting games, but nobody takes as incisive a punchline to the genre as Dan.
Dan, in his own right, does represent an important, maybe even the most important, facet of martial arts there is: the kind that everyone does when they start out or just don't bother growing as people or fighters. In my experience, myself very much not excluded, the gyms and dojos of the world are full of Dan Hibikis trying to be something more by mythologizing themselves into former losers turned invincible fighting machine blowhards the minute they learn how to kick above their heads or take a punch in the gut, whose training is perpetually incomplete, who think they get to teach others, and who go out there thinking they'll get to show off that invincibility any second now and that once everyone sees how badass these karate chops are, or how much ass I can kick when playing Smash Bros or KOF or Street Fighter, I'll show em all how cool I am, just you mess with me and I'll show you my flying kick WA-TCHAAA! *miss* HUP, WORYEEAAHH *crash*

like sasuke is clearly deeply unhappy in boruto which is fine, i honestly think its GOOD that he's not just like suddenly content with his life and himself after the finale of shippuden, its just also sort of insane that the post canon where he is no longer the focus is one where he's so potently miserable. he's clearly still reluctant to really face konoha. he still feels like an outcast or a bad apple, he still thinks he needs to atone for what he did as a teenager, despite the fact that he's been actively atoning for like a decade. but it'll never be enough. the only person he is not afraid to face and does not think he has failed is naruto, but even then he is still eager to isolate himself again, and i KNOW that its isolating and not just "being by himself" (sasuke has never been an outwardly emotional person (except under major duress), and while i believe a lot of this is repression its also just how he is, so no amount of healing would make him as open as, say, naruto, but i digress) because these are not the words of a happy man. "if she hates me its fine, because at least the future will be bright". "this is also a journey of atonement." naruto WANTS him to stay, believes its been long enough, the people of konoha don't hate him anymore (not sure how true this is but it's what naruto believes/wants to be true), but sasuke says they should stick to what they're meant to do, which means naruto as the hokage, because he is well loved and good with people, and sasuke in the shadows, because he is meant to be alone and unrecognized.
tbc i don't think that sasuke could be happy "settling down," i don't think he DOESNT like being on the move all the time, but the scene with naruto where he leaves konoha without saying goodbye to anybody is clearly not a scene where sasuke is content with his life in the way naruto is. he isn't doing this because he wants to, its because he thinks that he has to suffer in order to be good, and that the people of konoha wouldn't accept him any other way. it IS TRUE that sasuke has always been a big believer in sacrifice for the greater good and wouldn't consider his own happiness to be important compared to the missions he needed to go on, regardless of how deserving of happiness he considered himself to be, but i absolutely refuse to believe that, if he DID believe he deserved it, there has been NO TIME EVER that he could come home and just be regular. just for a little. there is absolutely something that is pushing him out of konoha, unrelated to "i have a mission to go on." there's still a disconnect.
WHICH. unfortunately. brings me to. end of shippuden. he receives a letter from naruto praising him for protecting the village even without being there, he thinks, "maybe it's time to come home." sometime before he comes home, he catches wind that naruto is getting married. he sends a letter with nothing on it other than "congratulations," and he does not come home. for like 4 more years. next time he's home for an extended period of time it's when sakura has already giving birth to sarada and he's helping raise her until she's juuuust old enough to start retaining memories before he fucks off again.
he doesn't want to be around sarada and sakura. he doesn't want them to worry about him or concern themselves with him. he doesn't want to be affectionate with sakura, who clearly DOES want to be affectionate with him. he considers the fact that he and sakura had a kid together to be the thing that most connects them, which is only significant in this case because anyone with eyes can tell that they are not really connected in basically any other way. it's like the ring he gives her in that dino arc. clearly since you wear a ring now to show we're married it means that we're married even though i'm not doing any of the other things a husband should do, but this ring makes up for that. clearly since we have a kid our hearts are connected and we really do love each other, even though i'm not doing any of the other things someone who really loves you would do. you could argue that his refusal to make any contact with sarada and sakura IS out of love, that he's afraid of hurting them and thinks he's protecting them by staying out of their lives (this is most likely what kishimoto intends), but this claim doesn't have any actual PRECEDENT outside of the fact that i'm being told that sasuke apparently loves her, the evidence for that being well they got married and had a kid. off screen.
i think he feels guilty that sarada even exists, because it's his fault she has no dad and it's his fault she inherited the uchiha's massive capacity for grief and love, it's his fault that sakura is raising her alone, and he's running from this because hopefully he can make up for it by doing good for the whole world since he cannot bring himself to make up for it by being there for his wife and daughter. "she has sakura, she'll be fine" because sakura is more her parent than he will ever/could ever be. he doesnt HATE sakura or sarada, to be very clear. he cares about them both as people, he fully respects sakura's strength, is proud when he sees sarada fighting well, he wants her to be happy and wants her to like him, he wishes he could be a better father and husband to her and sakura. just without having to be their father and husband.
boruto is not good unfortunately but due to the fact that naruto IS good and sasuke's characterization is very lovingly done in the original series it's critical to me (because i am not normal) that i figure out how to connect pieces that kishimoto could not be assed to properly connect. he seems to RECOGNIZE that he's betraying sasuke's characterization by making him have a kid w sakura due to the fact that everything sasuke does after that is p much exactly what i would expect him to do if, through some freak incident, he ended up having a kid with sakura. Anywho

I'm starting to wonder if there was any need for me to panic at the release of this novel. Whenever I see a panel, sasuke looks as if he is ignoring suckura 98% of the time (I mean he does in canon but i thought they would change that in this novel, at least a bit), the prisoners seem to show more interest in her than he does, he always seems displeased or even... annoyed? (Maybe its the way they draw his expressions that make him look like that) Suckura acts more like a 14 yr old girl than a mature woman (Shes not mature in canon but you'd think that they would write her to be good in her own novel). On top of that, Suckura is drawn ugly a lot of the time (I'm not saying this cause of my hate for her, I genuinely think she looks bad).
If a novel like this got released for my ship I would not consider it a win. Isn't she meant to be a mature, smart, sexy girlboss that takes no rubbish from anyone? Why is she acting so ridiculous? Why is sasuke not showing much emotion towards her? Like i said before, i thought this novel was to make them look good? Like yea, the whole novel is rubbish but i thought they would show sasuke caring for his 'wife' more than he does in canon, in this novel his expression towards her is always indifferent. They don't act like a couple in their own novel. And they're drawn ugly on top of that. I think sasuke said some rubbish like 'do a married couple need to be with each other all the time?'. Like HUH? Doesn't sound like you miss her.
It's not really a win for ss is it? It just made suckura look dumb (displaying the uchiha crest and going 'omg, he must'av used earth style jutsu to make this', like girl WHAT?), immature (sasuke was injured and she wants to play peekaboo), and the whole thing just makes them even look more like they're not in love (On sasuke's part anyway). The way she was blushing when she received the ring reminds me of a schoolgirl getting her first kiss, not like a couple that have been with each other for a long time that care and love each other ( and the way sasuke just gave it to her and was like 'wear it', no smile or emotion, reminds me of my mom when she buys me clothing I don't like but still says 'wear it'. He also looks freaked out when she holds her hand up to view it).
Sorry, this was a mouthful. Me freaking out of the release of this rubbish had been for nothing, in fact, it dragged ss through the mud even more.
I also don't get why they make Sakura so unlikeable in it.
She insults Tsunade in it (which is not out of character for her but again, I thought this manga would try to make her look better).
She is dumb and wears the Uchiha crest undercover.
She acts like a little girl, actually worse. She's blushing like crazy over the ring made out of dirt. Like isn't she already married to Sasuke anyway... why is she acting like he's senpai?
She's playing peek-a-boo with an injured Sasuke, like hello? Even if she were a teenager that would be cringy.
Also it still doesn't change the fact Konoha wives do wear wedding rings, so Esaka just did not do her research or she tried to bullshit.
And again I don't know if the artist just doesn't know how Sasuke is supposed to look when happy or what, but it does look odd. Sasuke is looking at Sakura like she's a weirdo (which she is, but again I thought this was supposed to make SS look good).
The manga makes Sasuke look like he's being held hostage or something. Like he looks like 😐 or like there's no life in him lol. And Sakura does look kind of ugly, I agree, and I don't even think she looks ugly in the original manga. But in this manga she just looks cringe.
I mean it's not canon and if I was a fan of Sakura I wouldn't want it to be canon because what?? It will make people mock her more if anything.

Propaganda for both ships provided under the cut
SatouShio Propaganda (Underage, Age Gap - Satou is 15 and Shio is 8, Unhealthy dynamic - Satou keeps Shio locked inside constantly)
"Those that know Happy Sugar Life might be looking at this ship with the question of "How does a fifteen year old yandere kidnapping and isolating an eight year old child make it a good ship?" - To begin with, there's the fact that Satou's love is based on love alone, rather than lust. Before meeting Shio, she'd go through hundreds of boys using lust (not as an emotion, but tactic) to try and figure out if any could spark love, but none did. Due to her past with her aunt, she wasn't able to spark any emotion, all of it was falsified. Upon meeting Shio, and Shio explaining what she felt love was, Satou felt her first true emotions in a long time.
On top of that, out of every character in Happy Sugar Life, as bad as Satou can be, she is the best person for Shio to be with - and there is no arguing otherwise. If she heads back to her father, she'll be beaten and abused. If she goes with her brother Asahi and her mother, she'd be starving and impoverished - on top of that, Shio's mother outright openly stated she was abandoning Shio when Satou first met her, and Taiyou almost outright states he desires Shio physically, unlike Satou's emotional-focused desires. If we look at the scenes Shio goes outside, the streets are as dangerous for her as Satou's claiming during Shio's isolation. Satou taking Shio back to the apartment they stay in was the best case scenario for Shio.
In episode 5, Shio even states that she loves Satou - more than anyone in her family - and that Satou is warmer than her family. It's hard to make an argument that Shio should be with anyone but Satou, despite the nature of the anime. Shio wants to be there, and is better off there than she would be with anyone else. Satou may be a murderer, but in all cases of murder it's either to protect Shio's safety outright, or to protect their relationship together - Satou loves Shio romantically, and Shio loves Satou back. While some may argue Satou's love is familial, they kiss on the lips in episode 2, recite wedding vows every night, and have another more intimate chaste kiss in episode 11 during a pseudo-wedding where they exchange rings."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Satou also doesn't see this reason for murder as a bad thing, nor the murder as a bad thing - it's justified to her because she's protecting Shio and their love. The first thing she ever apologises to Shio for is kissing another girl and telling someone else she loves them - it was a lie to the other girl, but Satou still breaks down apologising to Shio for betraying their love this way. The only thing that matters to her is that she treats Shio with true love. Being with Satou brings Shio happiness and joy, and being with Shio is the only thing bringing Satou any form of emotion. Shio is her light and her reason for continuing on, she'd give up without her. The two are doomed from the start, with Satou dying and Shio keeping both wedding rings and Satou's ribbon, claiming Satou is in her heart and they're together forever now, but I am near certain if Shio didn't ask Satou to die together, they would've been able to find a way to retain a happy love life after leaving the town."
YukiSaku Propaganda (Underage, Age Gap - Yukito is 17, Sakura is 10)
None that fits the bracket provided - feel free to Reblog with your own propaganda for this ship's advancement in the bracket

It is honestly ridiculous that Sasuke restuden is getting a manga adoption even though it is hated not to mention doesn't make sense at all Sasuke whole character in the novel in completely different to his cannon one and the whole of the novel his contradicting himself and The fact there are stuff in the cannon manga that shows the claims in Sasuke restuden are false (sorry english isn't my first language and I am trying to figure out how to word this ) like when Sasuke talks about wedding rings not being traditional but than Hinata has a wedding ring and he also notices them in another novel I am not sure what it's called but overall it just doesn't make sense the only reason it's getting all these adoptions are bc sp favours ss and sakura. Not bc of it's popularity or bc it's cannon or important the own author even said it wasn't cannon also the author is really trash at their job 💀
Exactly and you are right both Hinata and Kurenai have wedding rings. The novel you are about is Akatsuki Hiden which is canon where Sasuke notes about some characters wearing wedding rings.
So much more also doesn't make sense like the raptor being immune to Genjutsu which I mentioned previously if that is cause of why I think so doesn't work cause Sasuke could put snakes under genjutsu. Even in the latest chapter they give Sakura some spotlight with somthing Sasuke could have easily done using his Sharingan.
A lot of Retsuden didn't make sense and it will make even less sense in the anime adaption. Honestly I think part of the reason they even got the ok is cause they are desperate to fill up filler since anime is closing in on the manga.

OC Wedding Headcanons: Pro Heroes
Sakura x Kagehiko
Given that the two of them are in an arranged marriage and that they both come from very powerful and respectable families, the wedding was a pretty big deal.
It was held in Ibaraki at the Yamaniwa estate. It looked like this thanks to help from the rest of the Yamaniwas and their connection to nature.
Kagehiko was very nervous bc Ran hit him with that thousand yard stare and he knows she's not to fuck with.
Did I forget to mention that Sakura is a few months pregnant during this time? Well yeah, she's three months pregnant during their wedding.
Mariano (Sakura's father) made the dress himself that features ties to his daughter's mixed race heritage.
The ceremony was very beautiful. Both families surprisingly got along with each other.
The citizens of Ibaraki gave many gifts to the newlyweds. So much so that there was they had to be stored in separate storages.
Irefumi x Joou
Joou originally wanted the wedding to be in the Netherlands as a tribute to her maternal grandmother but Irefumi said nah we need to make it more exciting so they have it in Brazil.
(Plus he didn't wanna eat yt ppl food)
Midnight is not invited bc of the falling out but is sent a video of the wedding by Kimi (Joou's mom).
The Muses served as Joou's bridesmaids since she didn't have any friends at the time while a few of Irefumi's bandmates were his best men.
Joou's dress (that was personally designed by her dad) had lot diamonds in it but not to many to the point where it would be considered overkill and a blinding hazard.
She was surprised at how warm her new husband's parents were to her and how they greeted her with open arms. Cue her shedding a tear but quickly wiping it bc she's only really ever felt that kind of affection from her parents.
Irefumi performs a song he wrote about Joou and how much he loves her. Cue Joou being brought to tears by the whole thing bc his man just loves her so much.
Shukara x Sorami
Given that Sorami was the daughter of Japan's top hero at the time, the wedding was made a huge deal.
Mama Uche had a huge hand in the decisions because Sorami is her daughter and she deserved a wedding like no other. She picked out the decorations, colors, and venues.
Shukara makes sure to spend enough time with his bride to be before she gets dragged off dress shopping by her friends, cousins, aunts, and mother.
Speaking of him, because of the fact that the then King of the Ring was getting married was also made a pretty big deal. As you can imagine, many of his fangirls were disappointed
It's also during this time that he spends it a lot with his soon to be father-in-law. They both bond over having cute but blunt wives, positive outlooks on life, etc.
In the coming days, Sorami's anxiety is on 100 and she doesn't know how to make it stop. Luckily, Shukara is there to provide comfort.

Aruto - shirtless -: *looks at his equally shirtless Kouhai (sans Houtaro)*
Aruto: *looks at Sougo, Sento, and Emu, all of whom are equally shirtless*
Aruto: Why do you guys have to have a 6-pack abs? *pouts*
Emu: It's okay, you may not have a 6-pack, Aruto-kun, but you're still toned... unlike a certain magician.
Emu: Besides, Sento doesn't count...
Sento: What?
Sento: What do you mean, I don't count?!
Sento: What's that supposed to mean?!
Emu: *deadpan look* you only got those abs because you've been fucking Banjou nonstop.
Emu: You can't be moving your entire body if all you do is take it all in.
Sento: I'll have you know -bleeped because its TMI-
Shinnosuke: Really, Emu?
Shinnosuke: You just had to go there.
Touma: I did not need to know that.
Ikki: It's good that Daiji and Sakura aren't here today. Also, I did not need to learn all that.
Ace: Those aren't knew, in fact, *insert some past story of smex here*
Aruto: Huh, Fuwa and I are tame?
Connect - please
Haruto: *Uses the connect spell to slip a ring on Sento's finger and manages to activate the ring somehow*
Shut up- please
Sento: *continues to talk but no sound is heard from him
Haruto: I'd like my plate of plain sugar donuts now.
...Just another day of chaos for the Kamen Riders.

@fighterbound : book: sender helps receiver get a book from a higher part of the shelf. (sasuke to sakura)
it was her own fault entirely, lately she's had the memory of a goldfish. how could she forget one of her most important essays? and it was due in two days. usually, haruno sakura was one of the first students to get the work done and handed in, but lately, she's been enjoying herself a little too much outside of college. no, she hasn't been out partying or anything of the sort, in fact, quite the opposite. she's simply been spending too much time with her boyfriend, uchiha sasuke.
he has a way of making her forget about everything and anyone else aside from him, even though she knows for certain that wasn't his intention. he isn't the type to scheme such things, in fact, the only thing he's schemed against her was that time he locked his closet closed and refused to give her the key, even after she brought out her brutal measures of seduction. he didn't crumble! she missed college that day, finding herself having too much fun. that, exactly, was why she found herself fully immersed in the books at the moment.
there is an entire table just dedicated to her laptop, books, notes, and some empty food containers and a water bottle. sakura couldn't quite tell you how long she's been here, what time it was, or anything of that nature as she skims through another book at supersonic speed, searching for something in particular for part of her essay. when she doesn't find it in this book she gives a grunt of annoyance and moves to her feet, automatically moving through the aisles to put it back where it belonged.
careful green hues scan the spines of each book, her head craning as she looks up, spotting the exact one she needs. grinning, sakura extends her hand, freezing when she realises she isn't tall enough. there's a small vibration in her back pocket, which goes ignored as she moves up to try and reach it on the tips of her toes. her phone has been on silent for what she can only presume has been hours, buzzing and so on. after a while she became accustomed to the sensation, not even realising her phone was ringing as she resorts to jumping to try and reach the book. nope. she definitely wasn't reaching this.
sighing dramatically, the pinkette reaches up to brush her bangs out of her face. she's moments away from turning around and going to ask for help, but she feels someone come up behind her, and rather boldly press themselves into her back. there's a fleeting thought that this wasn't going to be a very pleasant encounter, however, it only takes a few moments to realise who it was. an arm reaches out from behind her, effortlessly reaching the shelf sakura struggled tremendously to reach and plucks the book she wanted out.
the smile that graces her lips is wide as the book gets dropped into her hands a second later. shifting, she turns, coming face to face with the dark-haired and dark-eyed uchiha, gazing down at her with an arch in his brow. his phone is held in one hand, which causes her to swiftly bring out her own, briefly scanning the screen to see a few missed calls from him and a few texts. oh, shit. ❝ sorry, sasuke-kun. my phone has been on silent. ❞
her apology is followed by a sweet kiss on his lips, also a thank you for being nice enough to get the book for her to end her struggles. pocketing her phone, she reaches out with the same hand to snatch his hand up, tugging him along to her table. ❝ you should be helping me with this, you know. it's your fault i'm in this situation. ❞

Debunking Certain Myths About Plurality
Edit: We'd like to thank @altercourses for correcting some of our misinformation and providing sources, and since then have corrected some things, we are very sorry for the misinformation.
1. Every system has a headspace/innerworld
Nope! Actually, it's quite normal not to. When you find a professional who specializes in helping patients with DID & OSDD function, they actually have practices for creating or finding your headspace. This can be done with a professional, or by yourself with caution. And also, headspaces and innerworlds aren't special to those who are plural, anyone can have one. It's just more common for us so our headmates have places they can go when they aren't fronting.
2. Every system is medically recognized as overt or covert
Yes...But no. Overt and covert labels can be very harmful actually, and aren't use by professionals, they were mostly picked up by the community. That isn't to say they are wrong or bad, but medical professionals do not see a system to be overt or covert, very obvious, or not obvious, it's not that simple to them.
But these labels have been seen to be helpful or interesting by the community, and in that, there is no harm.
3. OSDD-1B and OSDD-1A are medical labels
Actually...No. OSDD-1B and OSDD-1A are not medical labels or terms, in fact, these two aren't even in the DSM, they were later named and found by the OSDD community to differentiate different ways of osdd presenting. As you know, OSDD means Other Specified Dissociative Disorder, otherwise known as a dissociative disorder that may not catch all the symptoms of DID but is pretty close. It is a catch-all. Although the DSM does not ever state OSDD-1A or OSDD-1B, the DSM does give 4 examples of what OSDD can look like. Two of the 4 are what have been named.
So, no, it is not necessary to think or say you have OSDD-1B or 1A, If these labels and distinctions make you feel comfortable go ahead, but others should know, these really aren't important to anyone but the OSDD haver themselves.
The DSM itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. DID & what counts as amnesia
You do not need to have full blackouts like media says to qualify for DID, these things actually aren't as common as they may sound amongst DID havers. Here's a great video about what dissociative amnesia can look like if you think you experience it.
Edit; I had quite the misinformation here, there has been a wonderful reblog you can find on my blog made my @/altercourses please go read it they corrected and made some very important points I would not like to copy and discredit to them!
5. Only certain traumas can result in having DID/OSDD (sexual abuse, physical)
Well...No. That isn't true and the DSM does not inherently ever state that those are the only way an unstable sense of self with parts can exist. The only thing it ever states is if it is long-term childhood abuse, that could cause this disorder to happen. Long-term abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, can come from natural disasters, troubles at birth, etc.
6. You can't be aware of being a system on your own
Ah...You see, making this claim doesn't really make sense to me. That's like saying people with psychosis can't be aware that they are experiencing a delusion, or people who feel depressed for a long amount of time cannot recognize that they have chronic depression. While the popular claim of people do not realize that they might have DID or OSDD until they are well into adulthood or in their 30s is not false, It's fairly common and normal to suspect yourself of having a disorder even if others don't suspect it first, you know yourself better before anyone else does, and just because DID/OSDD is supposed to be hidden from everyone not just including but especially for the host, it's very possible.
7. You always know who's fronting or who you are
Perhaps this is true in some people, that's totally cool! But it's normal and perfectly fine to be blurry or not be able to put names or labels to yourself sometimes. It doesn't need to be this way, let's erase the stigma of this. The Rings System has some great videos on this.
8. Fusion and integration are the same
We must look at what integration and fusion actually mean. Integration means bringing down the dissociative barriers and things that separate the system, making it easier to work together and bring everyone closer together, but this has nothing to do with becoming one! Just improving communication and functioning together. It can sometimes even seem like you are on the same wavelength, which is good.
This often gets mistaken with fusion. A lot of people with plurality say they do not want to integrate, because they mistake integration for fusion! Fusion is actually what you're thinking of. Fusion is the practice of bringing all parts and fragments together to make the failed self at childhood, a whole one person.
While some systems find that fusion, or just merging some parts together is their goal, other systems work towards integration and communication instead, and the professional you're working with should have a positive mindset on both if you work with one.
It's very normal for systems to want to be more distinct or work on themselves separately, or work on getting along as a collective instead of wanting to be one.
9. Endogenic systems are an excuse for hardcore, or no double, "kinnies"
System ≠ kinning. We are not the same, of course, you can be both, but being a system is different. No system I have ever met has not been alright with seeing someone similar to them, or the fictives I know have no issue with seeing another fictive of their source, and if they do, they usually handle it respectively. You are talking about a specific person or a very small amount of people here, and I promise you all plural people don't operate that way, although I do not doubt that it does look like a fine line to the average person.
Also, kinnie can be very offensive to otherkin and therian people, please, let us not use this term regarding those people, or systems.
I tried to list sources for some of my most important claims, but if you want sources for other things, or you believe something is wrong, do not be afraid to correct us on it or send us an ask!
As always,
The (White) Sakura System 🌸

I wish people would stop caring about the canon pairings and marriages in Naruto/Boruto because they should have absolutely no relevance for SNS shippers in terms of validating said ship. Those who say we are delusional because “Well, Naruto married Hinata so she is THE one he loves!” (I'll focus more on Naruto's marriage here... Is Sasuke's even a marriage?) simply don’t get that it just doesn't really matter who Naruto and Sasuke married because that in no way diminishes their feelings for each other. The main plot of the series revolves around the bond between Naruto and Sasuke. It is their story. They are each other's most important people and this was established back in Land of Waves arc even before the dramatic events that take place on the bridge - the whole point of that very first arc was making this a fact right from the beginning, because the story has always been and was always supposed to be about the two of them and the profound love and understanding that grows between them ever since they exchanged glances, smiles and pouts as lonely little broken kids. No reason to list all proof of their feelings and bond here, it has been done extensively, and if somebody watched the show/read the manga and missed it, they are missing half a brain. That these boys love each other more than anyone else is absolutely obvious.
So what about the canon pairings? Kishimoto stated time and time again that his focus was never romance, and that is not because he can't write romance as we know it (he clearly did), but it’s a matter of concept: what HE considers romance is the attraction that unites people with the purpose of marriage (confessing your romantic love for japanese people is the same as saying you want to be in a relationship, because feelings shouldn’t be voiced without an intention), and that, to him, is NOT the greatest expression of love, nor does it represent the most special bond two people can share.
It is understandable that westerners put so much weight into marriage because we consider it the epitome of love. Well, the truth is marriage in Japanese culture is mainly the only socially admissible means to have children and has very little to do with romantic love. In fact, in Japanese literature, it is much more common for unmarried couples to love each other than married ones. Obviously, there is no absolute truth when it comes to feelings and human relationships, what I'm doing here is generalising social norms and expectations (not exposing my opinion on them - that would turn this rant into something else entirely). A large number of Japanese marriages are loveless (and arranged, but no point getting into that either) and what motivates choosing a spouse is their ability to fulfill familial duties, meaning: is the woman good mother and consequently wife material? Is she going to devote her life to taking care of her children, house and husband, the noblest of acts for a female? Is the man willing and capable of putting his occupation above everything else, working extremely hard and for long hours, with total dedication and diligence for his job, to the point of not even seeing his family most of the time, as an honorable man should do as a provider? That's what makes a GOOD married couple: two people following their expected and strict gender-roles in a nuclear child-centered family (again, please, this is not MY opinion!). What a Japanese man should want in a woman is for her to be a dedicated housewife and mother, since having children outside of marriage is not only frowned upon, it is not acceptable at all, and not being married with children is not respectable enough (same with being divorced). Marriage is, therefore, NOT a symbol of undying love and a deep and special connection between two people, rather, it’s a partnership established with the goal of having and raising children.
Do these descriptions ring any bells?
In conclusion: the pairings were, in fact, created for the sole purpose of bringing forth the next generation, and that was made CANONICALLY true. Would it have been better if they hadn’t gone down that "safe" route? Hell, yeah! It would have been fucking amazing and could even have been groundbraking, for several reasons. BUT as unsatisfying as it may be, the fact is they chose a very TRADITIONAL depiction of marriage that has little to do with feelings, and that in itself shouldn’t be taken lightly, since it leaves the strongest bond, which is grounded on genuine love, untouched. In this scenario, justifying romantic love through marriage alone won’t cut it, and trying to discredit the obvious unmatched connection and feelings between two characters because they never got married to each other or married someone else is ludicrous. Yeah, a married couple can love each other deeply and above anyone else, but that is just not what marriage is ABOUT in Japanese culture and definitely not what Kishimoto wanted us to believe was the case here after dedicating 699 chapters to a story about the special bond between two boys that didn’t culminate in marriage.
You know what IS a symbol of romantic love in Japan? Being willing to die together when the love you feel goes against your moral obligations, holding on to the belief that you will be reunited in the afterlife, where you will be free of any burden and able to love freely.
Are more bells being rung?!
Oh, some bonus info: We also tend to associate sex with romantic love. Well, Japanese married couples with children rarely have sex, if at all. After a woman becomes a mother, she is no longer considered sexually desirable and becomes a mother figure to her husband as well (what happened to Hinata’s big "attributes" in Boruto? Huh). This is especially true when couples sleep in separate rooms and the mother shares a bed with her children. (Hinata co-sleeps with Himawari and we know Naruto sleeps in a separate room. Just saying.)
What's your say?
Is Sasuke's even a marriage?
Geezz!!!! LoLLLLL!!!! This sentence just made me cackle so hard for a good 5 minutes, Anon!!!!!
Hmmm.... So let's get back to your ask.
Well, I don't know how to react to this ask, Anon. Because, I don't know whether you are from Japan or you have a very close Japanese friend who might've told you all these cultural thing about marriage and relationships.
So, what I am going to do is to analyze from the facts you have provided , combine with my own cultural relevance and provide my answer. If there is any Japanese readers who are reading this, you can confirm or dispel this by sending me an ask. But again, I don't want exceptional case like, 'No, my family is different'. I want to know about the general lifestyle of a common citizen and their married life.
Having said that, this ask made me just yell at myself, 'Goshh!!!! Seriously???'
Because whatever you said, It fucking exist in my country too and is still followed by almost 70% of people in my country and I absolutely detest it. That is,
Most of the marriages here are loveless nd arranged - Check
Is the woman good mother and consequently wife material? Is she going to devote her life to taking care of her children, house and husband, the noblest of acts for a female? - Check
People following their expected and strict gender-roles in a nuclear child-centered family - Check Check
What a man should want in a woman is for her to be a dedicated housewife and mother, since having children outside of marriage is not only frowned upon, it is not acceptable at all, and not being married with children is not respectable enough (same with being divorced). - Check Check
Marriage is, therefore, NOT a symbol of undying love and a deep and special connection between two people, rather, it’s a partnership established with the goal of having and raising children. - Awww!!! A million Check.
That's why I was envious of Western people in this aspect, because they have a freedom to choose their own partner without any time constraints and when they do, their marriage can be said to be 'The Epitome of Love'.
My parents marriage is also an arranged one. And whenever they have disagreement and that leads to verbal war, they let out this words, 'I'm here with you because of my 2 daughters otherwise I would've left you long back'. So... Yeah. Here, most of the marriages are child-centered. Again, it's not just my opinion. Majority of the arranged marriage based family revolve around their child.
And I was born, a year after my parents' marriage, and If I hadn't been born, then people will question my parent's fertility factor and start to discriminate them. So, I can boldly claim that, I was not born out of Love or something. I was born because of social obligations.
But it doesn't mean, my parents don't love each other now. How should I say???? It's like a Stockholm Syndrome??!!!! Like when you stay with a person for a long time, you will eventually start to develop some feelings over the course of the time. It took them 15 years to come to a complete understanding of each other. It's the same case with many couples here.
Considering all these, Sasuke never even stayed with Sakura enough to make her understand him, So I wonder what kind of couple are they????? Weird!!!!!
In conclusion: the pairings were, in fact, created for the sole purpose of bringing forth the next generation, and that was made CANONICALLY true.
Awww!!!! Man, Seriously???? I made this claim long back in this post where I said, these women were used as a tool to bring out Next Generation Kids. My claim was based on Analytical Perspective.
And then one of the rabid SS stan reblogged my post and pulled out a hetero card stating, 'They are married and blah blahh...' when in reality, I never discussed about their sexuality in that post. That post was purely based on the number of pages each hetero couples shared with each other against the number of pages Sasuke & Naruto shared together.
Now, you have provided a cultural perspective for those shitty canon pairings.
On one side, I feel the need to smirk, because I am right.
But on the other side, I feel bad like, 'Is this how, this show must go on?? What are you trying to convey from this?'.
You know what IS a symbol of romantic love in Japan? Being willing to die together when the love you feel goes against your moral obligations, holding on to the belief that you will be reunited in the afterlife, where you will be free of any burden and able to love freely.
Hmmm.... It's interesting to know this. Anon.
This is where it differs slightly in my country.
Romantic love here is,
No matter what happens, I'll stand with you, You are just not alone. I will leave my fucking clan, parents, relatives if they don't approve you and we will start a new life somewhere.
[[Here, marriages happen mostly between their clan members. If you love a person from another clan, you will be ostracized or tortured or honour killed by your very parents. It just differs from clan to clan. I was subjected to this same problem and that's why I hate my Clan and left my parents. And this is also one of the reason why I love Itachi. Because we share similar Ideals. That is, Not to be obsessed over your clan and think beyond this restriction.
Also, here in Asian Culture if someone is willing to leave their family (when they don’t approve you) and prefer you over everything.... It means.... that's some Love beyond Comprehension. Just like how Naruto was willing to leave his Family (like Sakura and Kakashi) and like to stand with Sasuke... Just like how Naruto was willing to leave his own family and go on a long mission with Sasuke]]
So does it remind you of anything?????
It's the whole SNS dynamics starting from their childhood to VoTE2. That's why I started to ship SNS, because it represents the true love we always wish for.
In this scenario, justifying romantic love through marriage alone won’t cut it
This is very true, Anon.
I mean, they don’t even have to take a groundbreaking route.
They should have given everyone an open ending, just like Kishi left at chapter 699. What is the need of a marriage, if Naruto is going to adopt Kawaki??? If Orochimaru was going to create a Baby Artificially?? If Rock Lee is going to have a child out of nowhere???
But I am happy that SNS bond is the only one that wasn’t diminished in this hot mess called Burrito. So, atleast we should be happy about that.
When someone pulls the marriage card, I just block them immediately because they are not even worth having a good conversation. NH will pull out the Last movie and SS will pull out, ‘Sasuke called Sakura ‘My Wife’.... So, it’s just pointless.
So, to conclude
Considering my Analytical perspective, I already made earlier in other post and your ask which provides some insight about Japanese culture which eerily resembles the culture I belong to, It all makes sense that this whole pairings and trash is just for the sake of bringing out Next Generation series and those boys never loved those girls whole heartedly. And I agree with you on this.

I am sorry Anon, I deleted your ask by mistake. But I guess, it was something along the lines -
"If Sakura really didn't force Sasuke, then why did Kishi say that - SAKURA CHASED AFTER SASUKE. You SS folks really need to use your commonsense."
That line didn't imply that Sakura forced Sasuke into a relationship or anything. (As if Sasuke was ever someone who can be forced into doing shits he doesn't want to).
Sakura just followed Sasuke and joined him in his journey. It was very similar to what happened in Retsuden. Sakura followed Sasuke and joined him on his mission. Initially Sasuke was worried about Sakura, because the mission was dangerous. But later, he was glad that She was there with him. And Sasuke was actually happy to spend time with her. Sakura didn't force herself on Sasuke, even once.
It was Sasuke who Sasuke said that She was his wife.
It was Sasuke who took her to the lake date.
It was Sasuke who held her hands.
It was Sasuke who touched her eyes.
It was Sasuke who said that laughing with Sakura, was his only wish.
It was Sasuke who gave her the marriage ring
It was sasuke who hugged her
It was Sasuke who wiped her tears
Even in Gaiden -
Sasuke was the one who immediately reacted to Sakura being hurt. When Sakura saw him hurt, she didn't try to remove his scalpels. But Sasuke went out of the way and amaterasu-ed the scapels that hurt Sakura.
Sasuke was the one to initiate any sort of physical contact with Sakura. It wasn't Sakura.
Sasuke was the one who shamelessly confessed that they made love. Which was again not required XD.
Why would Sakura need to force herself on Sasuke, when its clearly shown that, most of the times, Sasuke is the one who makes the first move in their relationship?
Just think about it, Sasuke has never never been hesitant to deny people when he didn't want them to join him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He cannot be found if he doesn't want to be. He can FUCKING SWITCH BETWEEN DIMENSIONS.
And he cannot be convinced to do something, unless he also wants that from deep within. The only explanation as to why Sakura was able to join Sasuke in his journey, AND TRAVEL WITH HIM FOR YEARS, was because SASUKE WANTED HER TO JOIN HIM.
Sasuke Shinden further proves that.
In the beginning of the Novel, Sasuke said that he was afraid to make "intimate connections", in the fear that he will lose them and we know who he was talking about.
Tumblr media
And by the end of Sasuke Shinden, there was this line -
Tumblr media
"He wasn't afraid to be involved anymore"
And that's why he allowed Sakura to join him in his journey. Because he was finally ready to make intimate connections without the fear of losing them.
It's also mentioned in Retsuden that Sasuke wanted Sakura to travel with him, but that would mean that Sarada will have to live a life of a vagabond, and she won't be able to fullfil her dreams.
Tumblr media
And if you believe that the novels are not canon, then you need to know that Sasuke and Sakura are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Whatever the official novels and databooks say about them, becomes their reality.
Infact, even though we might not like some scenes in anime, but still once the scenes are officially released, that becomes their reality.
So, even if it's a pleasing scene like - "Thank You for everything", or that stupid scene - "2 and a half minutes date", nothing can be denied now. Since, they have been officially released.
And It is funny that you guys can troll SS for - "2 and a half minutes date" (while ignoring the fact that Sasuke and Sakura were travelling for YEARS), but at the same time, you deny that the novels are canon.

Why are Naruto fans so confused about what's canon and what's not? When I watched Naruto growing up people just knew that anything not written by Kishimoto wasn't canon. Suddenly after The Last and those terrible novels, all of which can't even stick to the most simple world building facts, they want to know whether external material is canon. How can you believe that The Last is canon when they erased Naruto's backstory just to make Hinata have a more important role in his life. Hinata was never bullied, the Hyuuga are seen as a prestigious clan how can the heiress (at the time) get bullied for her eyes. Naruto had an extremely lonely childhood, he was not friends with his classmates. When the rookies were introduced he didn't have a single nice thing to say about any of them and he called Hinata a weirdo. A jinchuuriki is not supposed to be able to fall for a genjustu and yet that's how he falls in love with her. By finding out everything she did for him and being guilted into it by other characters as well (why would Shikamaru and Sai even care... Sakura, maybe). Compare his expression during his confession for Hinata to his expression telling Sasuke that he's glad he met him under the bridge. Where did Naruto even go!? He was replaced by a depressed clone in this movie. They needed a reason for him to ignore her confession except it couldn't be the obvious one: he doesn't return her feelings, so he suddenly compares love to ramen and doesn't know what love is even though the sage of six paths specifically said that both Naruto and Sasuke know what love is and he told Zabuza that Haku loved him (let's ignore Naruto showing his love for Sasuke). And it would be a complete embarrassment to consider that SS fanfiction canon. Dinosaurs, kissing on top of Naruto's unconscious/dying body, Naruto getting a chakra sickness that has no mention in anything written by Kishi, Sasuke playing poker, watching cherry blossoms thinking of Sakura, saying that he knows Sakura's body, Sakura riding a motorbike to the moon, Sasuke getting jealous of another man being close to Sakura, Sakura knowing fire style justu, Sasuke knowing medical ninjutsu, a chakra ring that doesn't exist anywhere else except this novel and Sasuke wanting to keep their marriage a secret to protect Sakura (but in Gaiden Sakura plasters the crest everywhere), I'm not even going to mention all the cheesy lines about Sakura. But the author, Jun Esaka, only got into Naruto a year before writing this fic and you can tell she either didn't read the original source material or didn't understand it. She even said that the novel was just her interpretation
*nods* beautifully said Non.e ✨♡
But damn, the SS-fanfic Sasuke Retsuden novel is even worse than I thought.
I indeed read something about Dinosaurs “bUt iT’s A nUdGe ToWarDs hiS plUshY!!” Yeah, still doesn’t make sense though? Also Sasuke would NEVER do something so disrespectful when Naruto is unconscious/dying.. instead:
Tumblr media
And excuse me what? Chakra sickness? Naruto!?
This is how he started out:
Tumblr media
Also meaning that this Kage Bunshin bullshit to “save Hinata” from the bullies in her made-up tragic past so she can have some sympathy time with kid!Naruto in ‘the Last’ is impossible. Read: Not Canon.
Tumblr media
Anyway-
Manga: “no matter how great the amount of chakra you summon and manipulate, if you can’t maintain your balance, whatever the technique, not only will the effectiveness of your maneuver be cut in half, but you could blunder so badly the spell may not be released at all.”
Naruto can’t make a perfect mini-him here at this age, no matter how small.
And:
Tumblr media
Chakra level isn't just about the amount, but how effective you are in maintaining your balance. Let alone Naruto's extreme finesse:
Tumblr media
So.. chakra sickness? C’mon now, go away. (Not you Non.e) More like "I-don't-want-to-be-in-this-novel-sickness", "help-me-sickness" and "save-me-from-'boruto'-the-show-sickness". That's much more believable, no?
I find the fascination with the moon interesting though, Sakura goes all ‘E.T’ and Naruto brings Hinata on a date to the moon. And Sasuke, our moon, in the meantime is.. playing poker?
Well.. “In standard poker, each player bets according to the rank they believe their hand is worth as compared to the other players.”
I ‘bet’ Sasuke and poker don’t go ‘hand in hand’ .
Hehhehe.
...
Get it? Since he's missing.. a hand.. ok.
Okay okay sorry.
Well I agree with everything you say, thankyou for adding all this info 💕, I didn't want to look it up tbh ;__; I do want to add something.
"Suddenly after The Last and those terrible novels, all of which can't even stick to the most simple world building facts, they want to know whether external material is canon."
This is not surprising.
CENSORSHIP & MARKETING
Because yes, this is a shonen-battle manga, one where -the heroes fight the enemies with the power of friendship to gain some sort of victory in the end. A story that include arcs that follow the Royal Road of Manga that Weekly Shonen Jump is known for- except, ‘Naruto’ is more complicated than that if you look closely.
Regardless.. Naruto’s (and Sasuke’s) romantic love interest shouldn’t matter in the first place, but years of ‘shipping’-wars online beg to differ. And for good reason.
The “you’re my special person”-aspect of the story is not all what it seems (at times it’s more meaningful) despite it being blatantly obvious who is special to whom and who isn’t so much.. or worse- not at all.
You possibly won’t understand until much later on when Kishimoto’s previous idea’s he planted in your head start to make sense.
Tumblr media
Except these damage-control “don’t worry, Naruto likes girls”-fillers or any other type of marketing go against its own material at times, so why is it so confusing?
Tumblr media
(Whoo NaruSaku~)
‘Naruto’ in complete manga-form is a SNS love-story. This is something I will stand by and so I will not call it simply my “opinion”. Their bond for each other is weaved through what it is: Shonen-battle, sure, but it’s a bond formed out of love nonetheless. An open end like they had together was in my eyes perfect- a promise for more, yet unnecessary.
Tumblr media
Not everyone is able to filter out what is canon or not (nor do they have to, Naruto is first and foremost a source of entertainment), but if you only saw the anime then I don’t blame anyone for not picking up on this love-story that I (for example) am so passionately preaching for.
I’ve studied Marketing.. and their team is so good at what they do, it’s annoying. They control every sub-fandom/shipper category by spoon feeding them little tweets like little flocks of blue birds on Twitter juuuuuust enough to keep them happy so they’ll empty their pockets every chance they get. The fighting is what keeps them popular- B*ruto really isn’t that great. I’m not saying that out of spite, but without Naruto and Sasuke.. c’mon now.
And that’s probably the only reason why they’re still alive as I’m writing this post now.
Marketing official: “Let’s give the SS-shippers an illustration on Christmas, who cares if it’s OOC? Oh, now they’re angry about something? Hm.. let’s do the Sasuke-Retsuden manga adaptation then. NH-shippers aren’t satisfied? Uh, we already made SS look more miserable here, at least they got two kids and stuff so automatically their ship looks more ‘happy’ then.. right? Sunflowers and shit. We can’t do too much actually.. Hinata’s our hero-worshipping hentai-bait you know? She needs to look innocent, especially in contrast to Sakura. Btw, can we make some sort of dick-in-the-booty-type of necklace match for Naruto and Sasuke? Bet the SNS-fans would love that, but make sure to add an Uchiha symbol for Sakura somewhere so it’s not too obvious. We can’t bias any side. Yeah, thanks.”
Tumblr media
So no matter how much fans go at each others throats for the silliest shit, it’s the marketing team that keeps that hostility alive.
If there was ever some sort of finality (no, marriage in this case isn’t it) then eventually it would’ve died down a long time ago. And I EXPLICITLY say marketing team (and their higher ups), because we should not include all the people who worked really hard to create our entertainment like the spoiled brats we are. Heh.
Whatever anyone believes to be canon (even though it truly is simple), it must be monetized in a way. Do you really think they care to pinpoint whether a tiny piece of information is truly in alignment with the main storyline if it means it's profitable otherwise? Trust me that they have a room of people ready to deal with either your approval or your homophobia and this has nothing to do with Kishimoto himself or the extent in which anyone else had any influence on the story.
Since we’ll never know that.
They’re (unfortunately) more capable/smarter than you’d think.
Questioning what is canon or not is licking the spoon they give you. Accepting whatever they say is just dropping to your knees with your mouth wide open not caring about the open manga that Kishimoto left behind you.
Masochistic dimwits.

Can you explain all the contradictions on the ss novels?
I haven't read them, just some bits. First contradiction is that Sasuke acts ooc, too effusive, and just doing things that don't fit his character. Sasuke also gives Sakura a chakra ring and the novel apparently claims Konoha doesn't do wedding ring tradition despite in the manga the other wives do have wedding rings. This was clearly just Esaka trying to damage control the fact Sakura had no proof of her marriage with Sasuke.
Naruto got Kurama cancer or something?? Sakura rode a motorbike to the moon and pulled Sasuke to a kiss over Naruto's dying body. I feel like something like this badly written could only come from a fanfic written by a 13 year old that would end in those tumblr accounts that mock bad fanfiction.
Hinata and Orochimaru are 'mama friends' and Himawari refers to Oro as 'Oro-chan'. I am not kidding. This is something a handful of people genuinely take seriously. This guy who experimented on kids is now mama friends with Hinata.
Sasuke knows ice jutsu?? And apparently other contradictions in the techniques.
There's one Sakura novel where Sakura decides that since her feelings keep being unrequired and unrewarded, she will chase Sasuke and confess her feelings for him as many times as it takes from him to accept her feelings. This wasn't written by Esaka though, which is why it's very differently characterised.

The Confusing Analysis of Trash Dad of the Century
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"A villain is just a victim whose story wasn't told."
---------
Something doesn't add up.
The vague backstory was so chilling and depressing at the same time. So it means that Father was just a lost soul who was dragged by the monk to commit a double suicide just to be with the Buddha?
In this manga panel in Chapter 97.2, there's a legend that tells a story of an orphan boy who had lost everything in a fire. He was found by a monk, who takes care of him. The boy was so trusting to the monk, as he provided all his needs and took care of a poor orphan boy like him. But there's a catch, the monk had apparently jumped to his death to be with Buddha, dragging the poor boy with him.
I mean..who would be pissed by that one? Ending your life after surviving a tragedy...that would piss me off, that's for sure.
And by the look of the orphan boy, he looks similar to Father, only younger. That will explain how his first weapon, Chiki, was a shakujō/khakkhara (a staff topped with metal rings traditionally carried by Buddhist monks, particularly in the East Asian Buddhist tradition). In fact, during the Sakura arc, we see Father wearing a black koromo (衣) - worn only by Buddhist monks - as well state that karma ayakashi are a manifestation of a person's karma (業ごう, gou).
In addition, Father's name for Chiki's ability, Liberation, is likely a reference to liberation from the cycle of reincarnation known as samsara, the ultimate goal of Buddhism.
He really is connected to Buddhism, because of the cause of his untimely death. The fact that Chiki's Liberation can be a reflection of how he had died, to find liberation from the limits of the human body.
Is there a possibility that Father was like Tenjin, who was a human before he died and people had been deified in order to calm his spirit?
So basically, he can be classified as a god right?
Sort of.
It seems like he was worshipped by those people in the island of Tamatsuki...as the old man, Satou, had said, "It's a grave... Plus this person was cursed to be called a god...well, he was like a god to the people who worshipped this place." It describes 'The Mask-Maker' or in other terms, Father.
But the question is...how the fuck does have the power to create Yato from a wish... if he wasn't human anymore?
Also bothers me is the mystery of how he went to Yomi and got back to the surface alive... when Yato had difficulties going back until Hiyori, a living human, calls his real name. According to Amaterasu, humans can’t (mustn’t) come back to life at all, Father implies he is the only one who’s managed to return from Yomi or come back to life.

Soul-summoning is actually a real Japanese tradition, by the way.
In old Japanese tradition, tamayobi or tamayobai refers to attempts to call a deceased person's soul back to the living realm. This was done by either climbing to a roof or looking down a well and shouting the deceased person's name. Interestingly, a modern Japanese word for "revive"/"come back to life" is yomigaeru, lit: "to return from Yomi (the Underworld)".
Tumblr media
What causes me to wonder if who is the unknown person who knows Father a lot as they can used the soul-summoning on Father. Although humans are not supposed to be able to return from the Underworld after death, Father was able to be called back through a loophole, and also giving him "godlike abilities" upon return. The exact details of the loophole are currently unknown...the question, how the fuck?

If he was the kid in the legend... who is this woman by the way?
In the chapter where Yato and Ebisu meets Izanami, the goddess commented how Father had seen her: a freckled woman. In this panel, Father seems to be grown up, holding a woman in his arms.
Who is this woman to Father... His lover? Or his dead mother? It's still a mystery that will be solved later on.
Tumblr media
There's also Father saying about him hiding in a blank spot. This is interesting to as his gravesite, the island of Tamatsuki, exists in a blind spot, as no one can pass right by the island without noticing it. It can only be revealed by repeating a certain Waka poem three times at dawn.
