((In reference to this story, for some reason.))
This...this pisses me off. I don’t *think* you’re trolling, so I’m choosing to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don’t know how rude you’re being.
(I don’t want anyone else to go and harass this person, either.)
First off: my inbox is temporarily closed for a reason. I was feeling burnt out on answering questions. I worked my ass off for that story. I took AGES writing all 6000+ words of it. I was excited when I got a couple replies for it...only to be met with someone insulting my ship and making ignorant claims about characters’ ages.
The reply section is for sharing your thoughts on that post. It’s not there so you can make off-topic criticisms and accusations. I didn’t put in all that effort for free in my spare time in the hopes that random people would waltz in and insult the entire purpose of this blog. You have your own blog for that. The reply section is NOT an inbox.
Now, the age thing. Short answer: No.
Long answer under the cut, because although it took longer than I expected to get my first instance of Shadamy Age Discourse, I want to have all of this in one place in case I get any more of it.
I don’t know which bootleg wiki that number was pulled from, but there has never been one shred of evidence in canon that refers to Shadow as 18. Not a single one. Whoever told you that is either accidentally spreading misinformation or flat-out lying. Always check the source if you’re pulling something from a wiki.
As a side note: some people are calling Shadow 17 right now because when you google “Shadow the hedgehog age,” you get this...
Tumblr media
....but that isn’t Shadow’s age, either. It’s the age of the 2005 game named after him. You can see the ages of some other games and the synopsis of ShTH right underneath. People said he was 15 two years ago because of this. I wish Google would format it differently. It gets worse every year. This is a good example of why telling a legitimately curious person to “just google it” is not always a good idea.
As for canon analysis, traditional numbers do not work for Shadow’s age. The official word is that he is ageless. His timeline goes like this:
1. Created 50 years before the events of SA2 by Gerald Robotnik. Gerald is able to enlist the help of Black Doom by promising he’ll deliver him the seven Chaos Emeralds 50 years in the future.
2. Maria seals him in a stasis pod and sends him to Earth, where he’s released 50 years later by Eggman.
3. Black Doom arrives on schedule and demands the Emeralds.
This means Shadow was alive for less than a year on the ARK, yet he was already perfectly capable of having deep thoughts and carrying on full conversations with Maria, as shown in flashbacks. Whether it’s because he’s the ultimate life form or it’s a side-effect of his Black Arms DNA, his chronological age simply doesn’t operate the same way other Mobians’ do. He wasn’t affected by his time in stasis, either; he behaved as if he’d lost Maria yesterday. If he’d been conscious and aging all that time, his psyche would have been broken beyond repair. It’s an Aang/Captain America kind of situation.
So Shadow isn’t a middle-aged man. He’s not an infant. He’s not 17. And he’s definitely not 18. He is canonically ageless.
I personally care more about mental maturity with regards to this. It’s subjective, of course, but my opinion is that he’s mentally about 15, for these reasons:
- Sonic, who’s supposed to be his equal/foil, is 15. Sonic’s rivals are also consistently very close to him in age: Knuckles is 16, Jet is 14, Silver is 14, Blaze is 14, etc. I don’t think Shadow is presented as more mature than Sonic is, either. They typically have valid but opposing viewpoints on how to deal with problems.
- Shadow is often naive and easily manipulated (Gerald in SA2, Black Doom in ShTH, even Eggman if you count Sonic Boom).
- In his self-titled game, he displays various immature behaviors like having mood swings and constantly peppering his speech with minor curses like “damn” and “hell,” as if he’s a typical 14-year-old trying to sound cool and mature on his first day of high school.
Shadamy is fine. A three-year age difference is perfectly normal for adults. Anyone who actually reads that story you replied to will know it takes place many years after current canon. Just like almost all of my headcanons, it focuses on the potential future they have together. They don’t need a relationship right now.
And you know what’s even more important than all of that? Sega recently removed the ages from the characters’ bios on their website. Every single one. This could mean one of two things:
1. Frontiers takes place after a time skip. Sonic’s voice is noticeably deeper, and Ian Flynn seems to know something we don’t:
Tumblr media
[Source]
Maybe all the ages will be retconned. It wouldn’t be the first time. Amy was originally 8. Knuckles was originally 15. Rouge was 17 in Sonic Heroes. I assume Sega then realized their “sexy” femme fatale character was a minor, so they panicked and hastily bumped her up to 18, something that will never not be funny to me.
OR...
2. They could be ditching canon ages altogether, which I wouldn’t be entirely opposed to. Some fans feel it was a mistake to include them in the first place, and when you get right down to it, most of them don’t make sense.
- Sonic had a birthday, but his age didn’t change.
- There are basically no adults. Rouge is only 18, but she’s somehow a secret agent who also runs a casino. You have to be 20 to drink, gamble, and enter a casino in Japan! She has to break the law every time she goes in there!
- Jet’s 14, but he leads the Babylon Rogues even though Wave is apparently 18 and Storm is 19.
- Tails is a homeowner. He is eight. Charmy is a professional detective. He is five. These are hilariously nonsensical.
Soooo...yeah. Shadow’s an ageless enigma in a franchise where exact age doesn’t seem to mean anything. You can personally think of him as being one age or another in terms of vague maturity, but you shouldn’t go around nagging real, hardworking people about made-up numbers.
If you’re actually interested in Shadamy, you can read some of my stuff. Try this cute headcanon. Or this AU. Or this little friendship ficlet.
If you don’t like Shadamy and you’re only here to talk down about the ship and my work, then go literally anywhere else on the internet. Up to you.

post here
DISCLAIMER BEFORE ANYONE SAYS OR ASSUMES ANYTHING ABOUT ME: i am not a proshipper. i am not an anti. i do not use any shipping discourse labels because i've been actively traumatized by both communities and have no desire to put that label on myself. i am just a person capable of critical thinking who enjoys analyzing media sometimes. i do not condone harassment over fiction, and i also do not believe any form of media is free from critical analysis or criticism, especially if it includes harmful propaganda and/or portrayals of marginalized peoples/societies which serve to perpetuate or legitimatize a pre-existing societal bias. do not call me an anti. do not call me a proshipper. do not assume things about me in bad faith. ive got no time for that and ill block you if you do this.
i actually think i kinda have a grasp on what's being said here so lemme explain this bc this is kinda how i feel? i'm gonna explain as best i can since its nearing 3 am and im a lil tired. forgive me if i dont explore every angle of nuance here btw again im tired but the adderall is in my blood so.
ahem.
my main talking point is this: there is a difference between exploration of something, which can include varying depictions and portrayals of a subject, vs propaganda for something, which has the intent of swaying you towards one side or away from one side or blah blah blah you know what propaganda wants to do i'm sure
exploration of dark and taboo subjects such as CSA/SA/abuse in general, paraphilias, mental illness, incest, so on and so forth - especially when done by survivors of those things - are almost never propaganda, no matter how they're being portrayed. someone using fictional characters within a fictional context to cope with their own trauma is, 99.9% of the time, not trying to endorse that behavior in real life. they also often assume the people reading it will understand that they the creator are not trying to endorse that behavior in real life.
example: most people who create fiction based off the mafia do not actually want to be mobsters, nor do they think others should be, nor do they endorse the real life mob, even if their portrayals can sometimes be problematic in other ways and/or contribute to certain problematic societal ideas about gang violence esp when committed by white people, but that's an entirely different issue than the one at hand and has more factors in play.
a deeper example: while a work of fiction can definitely reveal certain creator biases and/or how the creator feels about certain topics, it doesn't mean that every detail in the fiction is weighted the same way. someone may have clear biases towards, for example, women, in their work based on how they write their female characters, but not condone murder in that same work just because murder is part of the plot and/or is framed as a net positive in the storyline. you can have a work which clearly shows a creator's true feelings or thoughts or philosophies or what-have-you on one topic, but not on another, within the same work. learning which of these is true and when is a learned skill. i can't tell ya to do it myself as i am not a teacher
despite it seeming like it should be easy, on the other hand, spotting propaganda can actually be really fucking hard. i am not here to talk about how to spot propaganda, and perhaps will reblog this at a later date with links on how to do that as i am too tired to both write this and look for reliable resources on doing that, so if you want that for now, sorry, you gotta search elsewhere. however, this difficulty often leads to the main conflict i see online:
people believe that an exploration or portrayal of a dark/taboo subject or a subject which contains something that is immoral or illegal in real life, which does not outright condemn that thing, and/or appears on a surface level to be a "positive" portrayal (air quotes bc what counts as positive changes depending on who you ask) even when made by real-life survivors of the thing being explored, is the exact same as propaganda meant to push the emulation of that thing or behavior in real life, by real people, to real people/others/whatever.
this is the issue i and others keep running into online, over and over and over again. people are unable to tell the difference, they are unable to tell the target audience of a work, they are unable to understand why someone would make something a certain way, and ultimately the material upsets/triggers/disgusts/bothers/etc them, and all of this leads to them treating the first group of media like the second. because of that, they assume those creating that content are encouraging its real-world application and that the creators think these actions are okay, or that they will/want to/have perpetrated those acts in real life as well. once they've decided this, it's essentially impossible to convince them otherwise
ignoring the fact that you cannot make these assumptions about a stranger online in good faith literally ever, this is a huge problem. a nazi creating propaganda indoctrination white supremacist fantasy fiction material is nowhere near the same as a CSA & SA survivor creating works of dark fiction/art to cope with their trauma, but a lot of people consider it one and the same because they literally are incapable of seeing the difference. they can't analyze either work by either creator, and are unable to see how the nazi's fiction is different from the survivor's. even if the subjects portrayed in the works are different, too
these people will also insist that any humanization of a villain they deem "bad" or "problematic" enough - which, again, is dependent on who's making those decisions and not any kind of clear standard - means that the creator condones/believes/enjoys those things the villain does, and people who enjoy that character also condone/believe/enjoy those things the villain does. the ultimate irony of it all, of course, is that these people are consuming the exact same media with the exact same characters and exact same story and exact same plotline as the people they are attacking, and many of those people also enjoyed that media. they just seem to think because they enjoy blorbo blingus The Good Guy(tm) instead of zorbo zingle The Bad Guy(tm), that makes them morally superior instead of, yknow, just someone with a different opinion who is reading/watching with a different lens than someone else
obsession with moral purity, moral superiority, and in general an abstract concept of morality, is what has ultimately led us here. in an attempt to be seen as "acceptable" by the masses of the world - regardless of whether they participate in fandom or not - for whatever reason one has, has led some of us to turn on each other within fandom spaces
fear of predatory abusers lurking in the shadows, as well as an inability to actually identify the signs of a predatory abuser caused by a society whose goal is largely to protect those same predatory abusers, as well as a sadly large and growing number of victims of abuse growing up online and sometimes being abused and/or preyed on online (as i myself was) who thus are hypervigilant for this sort of thing due to their own trauma, has all led to a willingness to attack and destroy anyone we think might possibly maybe sorta kinda be a little suspicious without a second thought to the actual probability of that person's guilt, as well as the inability to stop and ask ourselves what we're really doing when we attack people over fictional portrayals of things as well as whether or not these fictional hypothetical transgressions are truly worth destroying someone's livelihood and life over or whether they're something we can simply block and ignore and not worry about
simply liking or disliking something in media has become a source of literal panic attacks for a lot of people because they drive themselves mad looking for a "good, moral, logical reason" to like or dislike something rather than just accepting it for what it is
our lack of understanding combined with an unwillingness to be open to the possibility of alternative interpretations for anything has driven people to commit atrocities. someone is literally dying right now because of it. actively dying. will die soon. because of antis deciding their creations meant it was okay to lie about them being a pedophile (they weren't), get them fired from their job due to these false claims, resulting in them losing their health care, which has 4 years down the road, resulted in their eventual death.
we. must. do. better.

Pre-Chapter 3 Upgrades:
Excellence Cosmodriver
HP: 3990 -> 4180 EN: 170 -> 204 Armor: 997 -> 1045 Weapons: 1 -> 2
Ra Cailum
HP: 10000 -> 10500 EN: 200 -> 220 Armor: 1100 -> 1155
Tumblr media
As the ship pulls up to the Londenion space colony, Bright reminds everyone that there is no way Char will pass up the opportunity to capitalize on the chaos the Martian Successors have unleashed on the Earth Sphere. As soon as resupplies are done, we are all to be ready to depart at a moment's notice.
Tumblr media
Speaking of resupplying, Raul asks Mizuho how the Excellence's weaponry is holding up. She's been using Mobile Suit parts as substitutes with Astonaige's help, and while they're fairly sure nothing bad should happen, he does tell her to check back with him if any peculiarities arise.
Tumblr media
Before she can consider her schedule free, however, Amuro comes around to invite her to check out the v Gundam. Raul invites himself, as he hasn't been to a colony in a while, and Amuro asks if Raj will be coming along too, but he immediately turns the invitation down. Kayra sarcastically says he must be fun at parties, but Raj says that if he had the time to go to parties, he'd spend that time working on the Timeflow Engine.
Tumblr media
As they enter the colony, Amuro asks if Raj is always... like that. Raul stresses that he's not a bad guy, but finds himself forced to admit that the answer is basically yes. Due to her time working alongside the team, Mizuho also thinks he's a kind person at heart; he's just a bit bad at expressing himself.
Tumblr media
Arriving at the Mobile Suit dock, the group is greeted by Chan Agi, from Anaheim Electronics. She introduces herself, but it seems to be mostly for Raul and Mizuho's convenience, as she seems well acquainted with Amuro.
Amuro cuts to the chase and asks about the delays he's been told about; sure enough, work on the Psycoframe around the cockpit has stalled, due to the frame being heavier than original projections. Amuro is frustrated to have setbacks during such a critical time, but ultimately trusts Chan to get the job done in time.
Tumblr media
Mizuho seems to envy Chan a little, which Raul assumes to be because she was interested in Amuro... but in truth, she just envies Chan's technical expertise.
Tumblr media
As they take a buggy trip around the colony, the topic somehow or other comes back to the spotlight. You see, originally Mizuho also wanted to work at a bigshot company like Anaheim or Nergal, but she failed all the entrance exams. Amuro's in disbelief, as the Excellence is no small feat; surely she has talent... Mizuho continues to downplay herself, saying she just so happened to be selected to work alongside the Timeflow Engine team among a list of other candidates. Raul tells her that it's not like they picked her by chance, but what Mizuho really wants to get at is that being trusted leading work on the latest model Gundam is an honor that she feels is completely out of her reach. Raul and Amuro continue to attempt to cheer her up, until they overhear a conversation.
Tumblr media
Two children seem to be arguing about Char's new movement... and one of those children is Hathaway Noa, Captain Bright's son! Amuro assumes the girl to be Hathaway's girlfriend, but judging by Hathaway's flustered reaction, that's probably not the case. Immediately recognizing him to be Amuro Ray, the girl hops in the buggy, shoving Raul and Mizuho out the way. She wants to talk to Amuro, and doesn't want anyone getting in the way of that.
Tumblr media
She explains that she's been training in India to better empathize with and understand humanity, so she's interested in talking to one of the most famous Newtypes to ever live.
Tumblr media
Raul: "'India'? I don't know that colony."
raul...
One incredibly embarrassing correction later, Quess continues gushing about Newtypes and their capability to understand one another, and Hathaway discusses how people theorize adaptation to a life in space could bring forth such abilities. Raul says he's been living 2 years in Saturn's orbit and still hasn't unlocked psychic powers, but obviously individual differences still factor in. If changes were that sudden and drastic, imagine what'd happen to families split between earthnoids and spacenoids!
On the topic of family, Amuro asks if Hathaway has talked to his dad yet. Hathaway can't hide his disappointment as he explains that they talked briefly, but Bright was busy as usual and couldn't stay long. Still, Hathaway himself understands that it's unavoidable; the Londo Bell has more on its plate right now than you can even imagine.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, Quess' expression turns serious. She's feeling... something. Rather, someone. Hey, is that a horse?
Tumblr media
Char: "Amuro!?"
Amuro showers him with questions. Why is he here? Why destroy the Earth? Char takes this chance to repeat his points from their earlier encounter; the people on Earth are ignorant, and refuse to stop harming the planet. Hathaway isn't satisfied with the apparent contradiction; if harming the planet is bad, why is Char fine with destroying it? But Char's goal was never to destroy it, just give it time to rest and recover from bearing all of humanity's ego... by wiping out the Earth's population.
Tumblr media
Amuro insists that human ingenuity can find a solution to this that won't involve the deaths of millions, but if it really is that simple, Char would like to see that "ingenuity" in action. Raul says that if they destroy the Earth, he never will! But Char remains steadfast. He believes in human innovation, but in order for all of humanity to become Newtypes, someone must first pay for their sins.
Tumblr media
Mizuho is bothered by Char's motivations here. Yes, Newtypes have many wonderful ablities, but are they really an ideal worth this degree of accelerationism? Worth the lives of millions? Quess, taking Char's side, stonewalls the question; to her, the answer is yes. Newtypes are worth all this. She then lunges for Amuro's gun, stealing it in one movement, taking Char's side (now physically as well as ideologically), and pointing it at the group.
Tumblr media
Quess: "Amuro, you're too small-minded! And not just Amuro, all of you are!"
With that, she goes off with Char without looking back.
Tumblr media
Back at the Ra Cailum, everyone is depressed over what happened. Char could tell Quess had talent as a Newtype, and took her under his wing. Before they can spend too long moping, however, Astonaige runs into the room; Char's already on the move again. And this time, he plans to drop Axis, a far larger asteroid.
Tumblr media
On a monitor, the crew watches Char's televised speech. god i hate how this game does the monitor effect, impossible to screencap
Tumblr media
Char exposits on the sordid history of the New UNE and its predecessors, and how unfairly they've treated spacenoids. The lack of reparations or care for their well-being after all the conflicts they've been through, the way they've been effectively shut out from the Earth and ruled over with an iron fist, how over the years their ranks have become more and more corrupt, especially after Dekim's coup, and given birth to more oppression, and in turn, more conflict. In that sense, the true objective behind the Axis Drop Operation is to end all wars, by eradicating the shambling corpse of the New UNE.
Amuro points out how significant Axis is to Zeon itself as a movement; the first Neo Zeon movement was born there. This is, in every single way, the last resort.
Tumblr media
"Everyone! Lend me your strength for just a while longer, so that we may forge our own path and establish a government for us colonists! Then, and only then, may i join my father, Zeon Zum Deikun!"
Tumblr media
"We won't let that happen, Char."

God, threads like this device into such bullshit. Anyone here with an opposite point to the OP or those bashing the show and characters gets down voted to hell, even when it's quite obvious they're spouting crap. This looks no different than a RWBYCritics thread. This was a hate bait topic from the start. www(.)reddit(.(com/r/RWBY/comments/vah073/the_babyfication_of_team_rwby/
So a while ago I had a conversation about why Weiss couldn't go to Atlas alone in V6 as opposed to stealing an airship. Many felt like Weiss would be unable to do so due to the emotional issues of returning home, but others felt that, given the fact that the entire world is at stake, she should put the mission before her own comfort, which brings us to the point of this post.
I would also like to point out that just as many people, myself included, have an issue with this because it was stated by Cordovin herself that Weiss would be returning to Jacques, a position that would just end with JACQUES having the Lamp, not IRONWOOD. And Jacques is a sniveling coward who hates James- you may as well gift wrap the Lamp for Salem.
There have been many times where, in defense of RWBY's actions, the fandom tends to treat them with kid gloves. To go back to the "Weiss going back to Atlas" example, I don't understand why the idea that Weiss can't overcome whatever she needs to get to Atlas is so common or why it's so accepted. I understand that Weiss may not be ready to face her family, but many protagonists go through moments that aren't usually prepared for. Luke wasn't ready to face Vader in Episode 5, but he did so because his friends were in danger. Buffy wasn't prepared to face her mother's death, but she did what was necessary to take care of her sister. Why is Weiss so different? Why doesn't the fandom believe that when push comes to shove Weiss will do what she needs to to save the world from Salem?
"Ready to face her family-" JACQUES LITERALLY WANTS TO LOCK HER UP AND ISOLATE HER. SHE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO WHAT SHE NEEDED WITHOUT SNEAKING OUT AGAIN. AND JUST FUCKING TRY TO ARGUE YOU WOULDN'T SCREAM 'STUPID FOR THE SAKE OF THE PLOT' IF IT WORKED.
Moving on, a common explanation for why RWBY was losing fights left and right in V8 was because they hadn't gotten any rest and were exhausted. The problem with this line of thinking is that there have been no signs of exhaustion among the cast in V8 and that excuse is simple conjecture, but I don't understand how one arrives at that conclusion. Sure we can deduce how tired they can be based on how we'd feel after 2 days of no sleep, but the issue with that is we're basing that deduction on our own physiology when we are aura-less beings who couldn't lift anything as heavy as Crescent Rose let alone use it as a weapon. Also, if CRWBY wants to convey that RWBY is tired to the audience there are many ways to do so: slowed thinking, lack of energy, reduced attention span, mood changes, and if they really wanted to drive the point home they could add in a hallucination or two. It is very easy to convey exhaustion to the audience, but all signs of it are lacking in V8 so why is it so easy for the fandom to latch on to the idea that RWBY is tired?
Or you know...they lost one fight...against an elite team...who they weren't expecting to fight...in a disadvantageous state...
Damn that pesky basic observation!
tbh, it feels like because RWBY is made up of teenage girls it's easy to assume weakness on their apart, physical or otherwise. I don't think that the fandom is consciously sexist, but I do think that ideas like the one's I've presented catch on quickly due to unconscious bias. After 8 volumes I have to assume that RWBY have grown into the protagonist capable of handling the threat before them which is why I'm so critical of people who say that they aren't based on flimsy evidence. Lastly, I know that people have been critical of RWBY's actions of as late, and I know that the reason I'm critical is because actions in later volumes aren't matching up to motivations expressed in earlier volumes, so I want to end this post with a quote:
"But at the end of the day it's a job to protect the people, and whatever we want will have to come second" -Weiss Schnee, Volume 2 Episode 10
Or you know...it's a really dumb idea that places one, maybe two, people out of a group of NINE to TEN in an unknown situation with no knowledge whatsoever.
And to address the rebuttals of this situation-
"She can just bring Qrow with her!"
Ignoring the fact that Qrow doesn't WANT to do anything and had to be persuaded to do NOTHING and would likely be hung over by the time they get to Atlas due to his drinking issues-
What the fuck is Qrow gonna do?
Fight to get Weiss out? That's breaking the law, the thing people primarily bitch at Team RWBY for doing against Cordovin. Considering we're trying to avoid that- scratch that.
Go to Ironwood? And do what? Team RWBY couldn't do much more than help with NINE people, what is ONE gonna do?
Get Ironwood to go grab the others? Gee, not like James is portrayed as someone desperate to get shit done and wouldn't waste time on that huh?
Have James break in and get Weiss? Also against the law AND against a man running for a council seat who is an open critic of his with a string of murdered critics against him.
Call Winter? See James.
Yeah a lot of this is reliant on V7 info they wouldn't have but it demonstrates just how fucked they'd be with this kind of risk taken. It was risky no matter what so why not go all or nothing?
By the way, we're operating under the idea that the Relic isn't attracting Grimm in Argus because, and I am quoting a mod of RWBYCritics here, 'relic attracting Grimm can be ignored because the show itself ignores that.' If we did (i.e. fix the supposed writing flaw like we're suppose to), then we'd need to either send the Relic with Weiss (with no reason why Jacques wouldn't just take it from her out of spite) or deal with it in Argus, which ends the same as Cordovin.
"Well, why would you assume that they'll go straight to Schnee Manor and not through Atlas Academy?"
Cordovin: (sighs) If Miss Schnee has truly come to her senses and wishes to return to her family, then, of course, the Atlas military will escort her home. But the kingdom will not be responsible for her "friends" of... questionable character. (glances at Blake specifically upon saying her last statement)
Because that's what CORDOVIN said they'd do. A better question is why would YOU assume that they wouldn't just take her home directly?
"Have Weiss just walk out-"
Oh you mean like she could have before...Oh...she couldn't...and if she could, Cordovin wouldn't specifically mention bring her back to her family...meaning that she wouldn't be able to without fighting....which is illegal...
Kind of see how details in the show are fucking over so-called 'rebuttals'?
"Call Winter!"
Gee, not like we haven't already established that Weiss doesn't have access to Winter at all times-
OH WAIT!
Winter: Only a novice would refer to that as a victory. I counted at least three strikes missed. (The camera then cuts to a side view of the group as she turns to her security) Leave us. (The AK-200s obey, walking two steps backwards into formation as she sighs and smiles a little more warmly at Weiss) How have you been?
There's no reason why Winter would ask this AND for Weiss to be excited like she is unless they haven't been in contact, which doesn't make sense if they have each other's number!
"They can jump out before getting to the Schnee Manor and go to Atlas!"
Also illegal since the condition for her to return is to go home.
Face it, your fucking strawman rebuttal that you parrot like a trained bird is shit.

5 tips for SEO-friendly blog post
For some, writing for search engine optimization functions and writing to draw and captivate your audience look like conflicting desires. I absolutely disagree. Positive, the phrases you need to be determined for ought to be in a prominent area in case you need an SEO-optimized blog to publish. However, over-the usage of key phrases critically hampers the readability of your text, which you certainly don’t need to do. In reality, an excessive keyphrase density can even be a signal to google that you might be stuffing keywords into your text, which could negatively have an effect on your scores.
This post provides pointers on writing weblog posts that can be search engine optimization-friendly and readable. Those two goals have to usually pass hand in hand as we believe that writing in comprehensible language gets you more visitors and continues them for your website online. All these tips are being used by well-known SEO Company around the globe.
Before you start: do keyword research
Before you begin writing, you need to do keyword research. In case you want to dominate the quest effects, you’ll parent out which words your target market honestly searches for. These are the topics you have to write about and the keywords you should use for your text. While you’ve carried out your keyword studies and have a list of consciousness key phrases to jot down, it’s time to get on with writing.
Here are 5 tips that will help you turn out to be a splendid weblog submission shared by the best SEO Company in Noida!
Writing Tips for SEO Pleasant Blog Post
mainly, your blog post has to be an amazing piece of writing. Whilst starting a brand new blog post, many bloggers simply begin writing, typing something that comes into their heads. Whilst this can paint for a few people who've natural writing talents, others can also want a little help. For my part, I always observe those ‘rules’ when I write a new blog.
1. Assume before you write
Before you start, think carefully approximately the message of your piece. What do you want to inform your readers, or which primary query do you want to answer? What’s the cause of your article? And what do you want your readers to do at the top of the web page? Write down the answers to those questions before you start and consider the search reason a person may have. An easy way to get an insight into this is via searching at the search consequences for the quest term you need to rank with.
2. Devise a shape for your post
To put in writing a readable and search engine optimization-pleasant blog post, you want to create a clean shape. This means that each publication has to have: some sort of creation (in which you introduce your subject matter); a frame (in which the main message is written); an end (in which you summarize the primary thoughts or draw a conclusion). In a few sentences, write down what you need to say in all three sections. You’ve now created a precis of your submission. This will help you create an established and readable weblog put up. Now real writing can start.
3. Use paragraphs and headings
Every person makes use of paragraphs, but now not anyone uses them nicely. Don’t begin each new sentence on a new line just because it appears exceptional. Also, strive no longer to cause them to be too prolonged, as every paragraph needs to have its very own idea or situation. Ask yourself what the primary concept of every paragraph is. You must be capable of summarizing that most important idea in one sentence. If that’s now not viable and you want greater sentences to provide an explanation for the primary idea, you in reality want to apply extra paragraphs. Right headings also help your readers apprehend what a specific part of your textual content is set. In case you want human beings to discover their manner via your articles, use subheadings to lead them. Subheadings assist readers to experiment with your web page and make clear the structure of your articles. They’re not simply essential for readability, but for SEO as properly. That’s why I would also endorse the use of your keyword in a number of subheadings. I do mean some of them, as the use of your keyword in every heading will make the text clunky and unnatural. This can position people off analyzing similarly.
4. Use transition words
Transition words help human beings experiment through textual content and apprehend the connection between sentences and paragraphs. As an example, let’s say that there are three reasons for human beings to shop for your product. You need to use sign words like: ‘initially’; ‘secondly’ and ‘subsequently’. Additionally, words like ‘however’, ‘further’, and ‘as an example deliver a clean signal to your readers. Readers will immediately get that an end will comply with phrases like ‘to sum up or ‘in brief’. Transition words are therefore very important to add structure to your textual content.
5. Use related key phrases
Stuffing your article with your consciousness keyword makes it much less attractive to read, and it is able to additionally harm your rankings. Google is getting smarter, and it wants you to write down content that users will love. It doesn’t want you to use your cognizance keyword in every other sentence and has different approaches to research what your textual content is ready. One of the approaches that google understand the topic of your text is by means of spotting synonyms and other key phrases that are related to your recognition keyphrase. That’s why you ought to use synonyms and related key phrases during your copy.

PERSONALITY TYPE
Thrawn's personality type is INTJ-A (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging – Assertive )
Tumblr media
[ I will follow that by saying that, out of the countless muses I have written and continue to write, I have never had a muse receive a 100% Assertive before Thrawn, and––torn between disbelief and amusement––there’s really no one else that it could have been. ]

More details can be found below the cut.
Introduction
“Thought constitutes the greatness of man. Man is a reed, the feeblest thing in nature, but he is a thinking reed.”
It can be lonely at the top. As one of the rarest personality types – and one of the most capable – Architects (INTJs) know this all too well. Rational and quick-witted, Architects pride themselves on their ability to think for themselves, not to mention their uncanny knack for seeing right through phoniness and hypocrisy. But because their minds are never at rest, Architects may struggle to find people who can keep up with their nonstop analysis of everything around them.
A Pioneering Spirit
Architects question everything. Many personality types trust the status quo, relying on conventional wisdom and other people’s expertise to guide their lives. But ever-skeptical Architects prefer to make their own discoveries. In their quest to find better ways of doing things, they aren’t afraid to break the rules or risk disapproval – in fact, they rather enjoy it.
But as anyone with this personality type would tell you, a new idea isn’t worth anything unless it actually works. Architects want to be successful, not just inventive. They bring a single-minded drive to their work, applying the full force of their insight, logic, and willpower. And heaven help anyone who tries to slow them down by enforcing pointless rules or offering poorly thought-out criticism.
Architects, independent to the core, want to shake off other people’s expectations and pursue their own ideas.
This personality type comes with a strong independent streak. Architects don’t mind acting alone, perhaps because they don’t like waiting around for others to catch up with them. They also generally prefer making decisions without asking for anyone else’s input. At times, this lone-wolf behavior can come across as insensitive, as it fails to take into consideration other people’s thoughts, desires, and plans.
It would be a mistake, however, to view Architects as uncaring. Whatever the stereotypes about their stoic intellect, these personalities feel deeply. When things go wrong or when they hurt others, Architects are personally affected and spend much time and energy trying to figure out why things happened the way that they did. They may not always value emotion as a decision-making tool, but they are authentically human.
A Thirst for Knowledge
Architects can be both the boldest of dreamers and the bitterest of pessimists. They believe that, through willpower and intelligence, they can achieve even the most challenging goals. But these personalities may be cynical about human nature more generally, assuming that most people are lazy, unimaginative, or simply doomed to mediocrity.
People with the Architect personality type derive much of their self-esteem from their knowledge and mental acuity. In school, they may have been called “bookworms” or “nerds.” But rather than taking these labels as insults, many Architects embrace them. They recognize their own ability to teach themselves about – and master – any topic that interests them, whether that’s coding or capoeira or classical music.
Architects don’t just learn new things for show – they genuinely enjoy expanding the limits of their knowledge.
Architects can be single-minded, with little patience for frivolity, distractions, or idle gossip. That said, they’re far from dull or humorless. Many Architects are known for their irreverent wit, and beneath their serious exteriors, they often have a sharp, delightfully sarcastic sense of humor.
Social Frustrations
Architects aren’t known for being warm and fuzzy. They tend to prioritize rationality and success over politeness and pleasantries – in other words, they’d rather be right than popular. This may explain why so many fictional villains are modeled on this personality type.
Because Architects value truth and depth, many common social practices – from small talk to white lies – may seem pointless or downright stupid to them. As a result, they may inadvertently come across as rude or even offensive when they’re only trying to be honest.
At times, Architects may wonder whether dealing with other people is even worth the frustration.
But like any personality type, Architects do crave social interaction – they’d just prefer to surround themselves with people who share their values and priorities. Often, they can achieve this just by being themselves. When Architects pursue their interests, their natural confidence can draw people to them – professionally, socially, and even romantically.
The Chess Game of Life
Architects are full of contradictions. They are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, and curious yet focused. From the outside, these contradictions may seem baffling, but they make perfect sense once you understand the inner workings of the Architect mind.
For these personalities, life is like a giant game of chess. Relying on strategy rather than chance, Architects contemplate the strengths and weaknesses of each move before they make it. And they never lose faith that, with enough ingenuity and insight, they can find a way to win – no matter what challenges might arise along the way.
Tumblr media
Strengths & Weaknesses
Architect (INTJ) Strengths
Rational – Architects pride themselves on the power of their minds. They can reframe nearly any challenge as an opportunity to hone their rational thinking skills and expand their knowledge – and with this mindset, they can devise inventive solutions to even the most arduous of problems.
Informed – Few personality types are as devoted as Architects to developing rational, correct, and evidence-based opinions. Rather than hunches or half-baked assumptions, they base their conclusions on research and analysis. This gives them the conviction that they need to stand up for their ideas, even in the face of disagreement.
Independent – For these personalities, conformity is more or less synonymous with mediocrity. Creative and self-motivated, Architects strive to do things their own way. They can imagine few things more frustrating than allowing arbitrary rules or conventions to stand in the way of their success.
Determined – This personality type is known for being ambitious and goal-oriented. Architects won’t rest until they’ve achieved their own definition of success – which usually entails mastering the subjects and pursuits that matter to them.
Curious – Architects are open to new ideas – as long as those ideas are rational and evidence-based, that is. Skeptical by nature, Architects are especially drawn to offbeat or contrarian points of view. And if the facts prove them wrong, they are generally happy to revise their opinions.
Original – Without Architects, the world would be a far less interesting place. This personality type’s rebellious streak is responsible for some of history’s most unconventional ideas and inventions. Even in their everyday lives, Architects force the people around them to consider new (and sometimes startling) ways of looking at things.
Architect (INTJ) Weaknesses
Arrogant – Architects might be knowledgeable, but they’re not infallible. Their self-assurance can blind them to useful input from other people – especially anyone they deem to be intellectually inferior. These personalities can also come across as needlessly harsh or single-minded in trying to prove others wrong.
Dismissive of Emotions – For Architects, rationality is king. But emotional context often matters more than people with this personality type care to admit. Architects can get impatient with anyone who seems to value feelings more than facts. Unfortunately, ignoring emotion is its own type of bias – one that can cloud Architects’ judgment.
Overly Critical – These personalities tend to have a great deal of self-control, particularly when it comes to thoughts and feelings. When the people in their lives fail to match their level of restraint, Architects can appear scathingly critical. But this criticism can be unfair, based on arbitrary standards rather than a full understanding of human nature.
Combative – Architects hate blindly following anything without understanding why. This includes restrictions and the authority figures who impose them. People with this personality type can get caught up in arguing about useless rules and regulations – but sometimes these battles are distractions from more important matters.
Socially Clueless – Architects’ relentless rationality can lead to frustration in their social lives. Their efforts to defy expectations may leave them feeling isolated or disconnected from other people. At times, they may become cynical about the value of relationships altogether, questioning the importance of love and connection.
Tumblr media
Romantic Relationships
“Of all forms of caution, caution in love is perhaps the most fatal to true happiness.”
Architects (INTJs) approach romance the way they do most challenges: strategically, with clear-cut goals and a plan for achieving them. In a purely rational world, this approach would be foolproof. Alas, love is rarely rational, and Architects are at risk of overlooking or misinterpreting the unpredictability of human nature and affection.
For people with this personality type, finding a compatible partner can be a particular challenge. Rarely satisfied with things as they are, Architects can’t help but imagine how the world could be better than it already is – and they often bring this same mindset to the realm of love. Unfortunately, if Architects apply a relentlessly critical eye to every potential partner, they may find themselves constantly dissatisfied.
The Woes of Dating
Architects value depth, intelligence, and unmitigated honesty. For them, a relationship that isn’t founded on these values simply isn’t worth pursuing. It might not come as a surprise, then, that the unspoken rules and social niceties of the dating world can seem useless or even insulting to these personalities.
The good news is that Architects’ honesty and refusal to play games can be a breath of fresh air when it comes to dating. The bad news? Many romantic conventions exist for a reason – often because they make people feel comfortable or special or intrigued. And when Architects refuse to play along, they may find dating difficult, if not impossible.
As Architects often learn, the ways of love are hard to describe in a spreadsheet.
As they mature and gain experience, many Architects eventually come to understand the purpose of romantic rituals. Until that point, however, they may decide that dating is too irrational or beneath them. Some people with this personality type might claim to be above the “silliness” of dating in an effort to demonstrate their intellectual superiority. Obviously, this mindset is unlikely to help Architects find or connect with a partner.
Sometimes Architects’ best strategy is to focus on what they enjoy rather than struggle against the rules of dating. Ironically, people with this personality type are often most attractive when they aren’t caught up in trying to be. Just doing what they do best – pursuing the interests that light them up – can help their confidence and intelligence shine.
Emotion Sickness
This personality type isn’t known for conventional shows of romance, such as sending flowers or writing mushy notes. Most Architects spend more time thinking about love than expressing it. But when they believe that a relationship has potential, Architects are more than capable of giving it their all, even if that takes them out of their comfort zone.
And a healthy, long-term relationship is pretty much guaranteed to take Architects out of their comfort zone at some point. In particular, emotions can feel like a second language to these personalities. When their partner shares strong feelings, Architects’ default is often to shut down or to analyze the situation, rather than simply listening and offering support. And when it’s time for Architects to share the inner workings of their own hearts, they may feel uncomfortable and exposed. For Architects, becoming comfortable with their partner’s emotions – and their own – can take more than a little practice.
Architects aren’t always ready to share their feelings, but it would be a mistake to think that they don’t have feelings – or that those feelings don’t run deep.
Love is rarely easy, but it’s a challenge that can help Architect personalities grow. Through their relationships, they can learn to focus on the present, get in touch with their emotions, remain involved with other people, and stay open to things that they’re not used to. For a personality type so intent on self-development, these opportunities can make love even more satisfying.
Tumblr media
Friendships
“A friend to all is a friend to none.”
Sharp-witted and darkly funny, Architects (INTJs) aren’t everyone’s cup of tea – and they’re okay with that. For the most part, people with this personality type aren’t obsessed with being popular. They don’t spend their time and energy on just anyone, and they can be difficult to get to know.
It would be a mistake, however, to label this personality type as antisocial or unfriendly. Architects do enjoy the pleasure of their own company and their own mind, but they also crave meaningful connections with friends. In fact, few things are more exhilarating to an Architect than the spark that they feel when they’re immersed in conversation with someone who really gets them.
An Intellectual Match
It’s not always easy to befriend an Architect. People with this personality type have little patience for social rules or expectations, and they’d rather spend time alone than with someone who bores or irritates them. Architects tend to have a clear idea of what they expect from their social lives and their friends, and they don’t want to waste too much time on anyone who doesn’t seem to meet these expectations.
Architects care about depth and quality. They’d rather have just a few good friends than a large circle of acquaintances.
From the outside, this might sound dismissive, but the truth is that many Architects have a knack for finding friends in seemingly unlikely places. These personalities aren’t particularly swayed by appearances or social status, so they aren’t afraid to befriend people who might be thought of as “outsiders” by the mainstream. In sizing up a potential friend, Architects don’t particularly care how popular that person is – instead, they consider whether that person has values that are compatible with their own, such as intellect, honesty, self-improvement, or simply a different perspective.
In friendship, Architects are looking for an intellectual match as much as anything else. These personalities crave mental stimulation, and they tend to have the most fun among friends who can challenge their ideas, expose them to new concepts, and steer conversations in unexpected directions.
A Unique Friendship
In their friendships, as in other aspects of their lives, Architects prize independence. Social obligations can feel stifling to people with this personality type. Architects don’t want to feel beholden to their friends, and they don’t want their friends to feel beholden to them. For them, an ideal friendship is low drama, based on true enjoyment of each other’s company rather than obligation.
Even with their closest friends, Architects may struggle to offer emotional comfort – or receive it.
Of course, any long-term friendship will have its dramatic moments. When sensitive or emotional situations arise, Architects may feel out of their depth. Architects are used to feeling knowledgeable and capable, and this sudden cluelessness can be disorienting for them. Many people with this personality type have to practice listening to their friends in a nonjudgmental, supportive way rather than jumping in immediately with solutions and advice.
The good news is that, among friends they know and respect, Architects have no trouble relaxing and being themselves. Architects’ sarcasm and witty banter may not be for everyone – especially people who struggle to read between the lines. But these personalities reward their true friends with candor and insight, along with an endless supply of fascinating stories, ideas, and conversations.

Parenthood
“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”
Architects (INTJs) are known for their rationality and self-control, and they may be bemused by anyone who doesn’t share these strengths – for example, children. For these personalities, parenting often requires mastering new skills and developing cognitive flexibility. Fortunately, Architects are pretty much always up for a challenge – and for Architects who have children, parenthood can be an especially meaningful challenge to take on.
An Honest Connection
Architects want their children to grow up to be capable and self-reliant, with clear interests and strong critical-thinking skills. Rather than enforcing pointless rules, parents with this personality type look for age-appropriate ways to foster their children’s independence. That’s not to say that Architects are lenient – far from it. They expect their children to use their freedom responsibly.
Architect parents treat their children the way they want to be treated themselves – with candor and respect.
Some personality types might shelter their children from difficult subjects, but Architect parents believe that knowledge is far better than ignorance. For them, candor is a way of showing respect, and shielding their children from reality would be a disservice. Of course, the success of this approach depends on Architects’ ability to correctly gauge their children’s readiness for these hard truths.
The Chaos of Emotions
Compared to many other personality types, Architects aren’t especially comfortable with displays of affection. Showering someone with love and praise can feel unnatural to them – even if that “someone” is their own child. But children need cuddling and approval and other expressions of love, particularly during their younger years. As a result, Architect parents may need to expand their emotional comfort zone in order to show their children just how much they are loved.
Another challenge for parents with this personality type is offering emotional support. Architects take pride in being in command of their feelings, and they might (consciously or unconsciously) expect their children to be able to do the same. But this expectation isn’t reasonable – emotions may be confusing and, at times, chaotic, but they’re perfectly normal, and children need validation and support in order to navigate them.
Architects are at their best when they can develop a plan to solve a problem’s root cause. But sometimes the best solution to a kid’s problem is just sitting with them as they explore their feelings.
Preparing for Life’s Challenges
Architects try to make sure that their children are prepared to deal with anything that life throws at them. Parents with this personality type have a talent for reframing challenges as learning opportunities – and in doing so, they can inspire their children to develop their own style of rational thinking and problem-solving. Over time, Architects’ children can apply these skills to increasingly complex situations, building their confidence as they grow.
Every parent has a different dream for their child’s future. For Architects, the dream is to raise a competent adult who knows their own mind and solves their own problems. Architects understand that this can’t happen if they protect their children from every difficult or unpleasant thing in life. But their hope is that, if they give their children the right tools, they won’t have to.
Tumblr media
Career Paths
“One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done, and if one didn’t like the work, it would be very discouraging.”
Architects (INTJs) are rarely satisfied by work that feels easy or comfortable. They want a career that fires up their curiosity and leverages their intellect, allowing them to expand their prowess as they tackle meaningful challenges and problems. If a job’s description makes the average person think, Wow, that sounds hard, then it might just be a good fit for an Architect.
The Early-Career Blues
In the workplace, Architect personalities are often known for competence and effectiveness.
Starting at the bottom of the career ladder can be frustrating for Architects. Early in their professional lives, they may be saddled with easy, routine tasks that bore them half to death. People with this personality type brim with creative and outside-the-box ideas. But with their disdain for schmoozing and workplace politics, they may struggle to earn the favor of their bosses and colleagues.
The good news is that, over time, many Architects develop their abilities into a track record so good that it can’t be ignored. Even when everyone around them falls prey to groupthink, people with this personality type can cut through the noise and figure out the true cause of a problem – and then fix it. As long as they don’t alienate their coworkers, Architects can advance in their careers and gain the leverage that they need to see their ideas through.
Finding Their Place
Some personality types are drawn to jobs that require nonstop teamwork and interaction, but Architects tend to prefer positions that offer independence. By working alone or in small groups, they can make the most of their creativity without constant interruptions from curious coworkers or second-guessing supervisors. Architects really do believe that if they want something done right, they’d better do it themselves.
People with this personality type value resourcefulness, grit, insight, and commitment – in themselves and in others.
The other side of that coin is that Architects have little respect for anyone who gets ahead based on networking or nepotism rather than merit. They believe that everyone should get their work done to the highest possible standards. So if a social butterfly at work breezes through without carrying their own weight, Architects may feel called to use their ingenuity to bring that person back down to earth – or they may be driven to work especially hard to prove their own merit by comparison.
Ever Greater Challenges
Architect personalities demand progress and evolution, and they love to explore new ideas. As their careers progress, they may be drawn to positions that allow them to influence a company’s or organization’s overall strategies. Many Architects pursue low-profile but influential roles as project managers, systems engineers, marketing strategists, systems analysts, management consultants, and military strategists.
People with this personality type tend to be happiest in careers that allow them to innovate and experiment in ways both large and small. It’s no surprise, then, that jobs in engineering, research, science, and technology are common choices for Architects. But creative fields, from architecture to musical composition to video game design, can also gratify their innovative streak. And Architects’ relentless desire to get to the bottom of things can lead them to careers as auditors, cybersecurity specialists, or business analysts.
Architects view a combination of rational analysis and hard work as the foundation of their success.
The truth is that Architects can apply their strengths to just about any role. In a retail setting, for example, their insatiable curiosity might lead them to investigate what makes one front-of-store display more effective than another. Some careers with strong social components, such as sales or human resources, might not seem like obvious fits – but fortunately, Architects know how to look beyond the obvious.
Creative and visionary, Architects want to find a career that takes advantage of their unique gifts. Few personality types, if any, can match their ability to transform complex principles into clear, actionable strategies. Architects know how much they can offer the world through their work – and their priority is to ensure that their position, whatever it may be, makes full use of their skills, knowledge, and intellect.
Tumblr media
Workplace Habits
Wherever they may be on the career ladder, Architects (INTJs) want to pursue their professional goals according to their own standards. And if any personality type has high standards for themselves, it’s almost certainly Architects.
In theory, this attitude makes for a model employee and coworker. And in many ways, Architects are exactly that. But people with this personality type may be harsh or dismissive toward coworkers they don’t respect – and unfortunately, losing Architects’ respect can be all too easy. In particular, Architects may struggle to work with colleagues who prioritize convenience over innovation or socializing over success.
Architect Subordinates
Architects are known for their independence. Their worst nightmare would be a micromanaging boss who monopolizes their time with pointless meetings, insists on useless rules, or appraises employees’ performance based on how likable they seem rather than their actual merits.
Even in entry-level jobs, Architect personalities may chafe at anyone who tries to limit their freedom.
Titles mean little to Architects, and they often struggle to defer to a manager they consider less intelligent than themselves. They might also find it difficult to restrain themselves from offering their bosses feedback and criticism – an approach that, depending on the boss, can backfire. In the real world, not all bosses will be as logical or open-minded as Architects might prefer. But that doesn’t mean that people with this personality type should allow a less-than-ideal manager to hold them back.
Architects can use their creativity and ingenuity to expand their responsibilities and develop their expertise – even if they don’t have the independence that they crave. To do this, they may need to prioritize building a productive and respectful relationship with their manager, no matter how far from perfect that person may be.
Architect Colleagues
Few Architects choose jobs that require constant teamwork or social interaction. To these personalities, most team-building techniques and group meetings are a waste of time. And chitchat, gossip, and office politics – well, those can be nothing short of workplace plagues. Even a brainstorming session, normally a delight for Architects, can become tedious if it just goes in circles without leading to clear action.
Most Architects would rather work alone than be slowed down by a pleasant but unfocused coworker.
Fortunately, their determination and focus often enable Architects to produce effective results, even without the help of others. That’s not to say that Architects can’t work with others – in fact, they may achieve some of their greatest successes this way. Relentlessly curious and capable, they can make for excellent collaborators. People with this personality type may never enjoy pairing up with just anyone, but if they look more closely, they often find that at least some of their coworkers deserve their respect. And in the company of trusted colleagues, Architects’ brainstorming sessions may become even more electric.
Architect Managers
Though they may be surprised to hear it, Architect personalities can make great leaders. In the workplace, they rarely throw around their authority just to prove that they’re in charge. Instead, they look for ways to promote innovation and effectiveness – even if that means breaking with established hierarchies.
Some managers might enjoy being pandered to, but Architects would rather be successful than constantly validated.
Generally speaking, Architects prefer to treat those who work for them as equals. Rather than micromanaging, these personalities aim to direct broader strategies while letting other people handle day-to-day activities. That’s not to say that they’re completely hands-off, however. Architect bosses want to know exactly what’s going on and when, and they're always ready to drill into any level of detail necessary to find out.
These managers respect and reward proactive behavior, delegating responsibilities to employees with the strongest critical-thinking skills. But this independence isn’t just granted – it’s required. Employees who struggle to direct themselves – who just want to be told what to do – may have a hard time meeting Architects’ standards. And anyone who tries to cover up bad results with flattery or excuses is likely to be disappointed, as those strategies almost never fool Architects.
Tumblr media
CONCLUSION
Armed with powerful intellects and strategic minds, Architect (INTJ) personalities can outmaneuver obstacles that seem unbeatable to most. But Architects’ strengths, when misunderstood, can turn into weaknesses – and keep them from reaching their full potential.
The Path of Discovery
In reading through this personality profile, you probably hit a tipping point. You went from trademark Architect skepticism to “Huh…” to “Wait, what?” You might even be a little uncomfortable, because you’re not used to being understood, even by the people closest to you.
Chances are you’ve accepted this as part of who you are, and maybe you’ve even grown proud of it. But embracing that disconnect isn’t a requirement for Architects. It’s a misused defense mechanism that can lead you down a lonely, inefficient path. Gaining insight into yourself and others is so much more rewarding – and effective.

Puerto Rican Essay.
I almost feel overloaded. I don't know where to begin and nothing is going to come out neat or organized because all the feeling of life to unpack from the passed trip “home” is a sadly unfamiliar exuberance that I would like to lay claim to (after this) as part of who I am. This isn't gonna make sense to you but it will to me.
I feel like I know myself as a miserable person and it's not a secret that I have done too many personality profiles to count and they all suggest how incredibly capable I am at self sabotage. It's nice to admit and assume responsibility rather than beating myself up over the sabotage again. I was always, always, always more comfortable with being a door mat and less comfortable with being persistent or needing of anything. My desire for peace always kept in the way of my truth and in that silence I was a miserable person.
My first impression of Puerto Rico was just me saying to myself how much I looked like everyone! Or they looked like me, rather.  Like I really found my people or more like I haven't been with them in so long. I thought of my parents a lot and my early childhood. It's been awhile since I was outnumbered by Puerto Ricans. It's nice I think and I feel good here and kind of less alone, in a way, even though I didn't think I needed this connection. I've been separated from the Puerto Rican side of my family since I was a toddler because of reasons that are way too hot and boring a topic to me now.
Traveling alone, it's been fun. I didn't think about it much. I like being alone when I'm not bored or horny so this was mostly perfect. I do feel more fear, I suppose or I have to put a braver face on than I feel to avoid anyone knowing how truly vulnerable I am.... as a me (soft and will cry) and as a woman (men never stop looking at me and it's not like in a flattering way) Dressing like a dude is armor and always has been and I’ve been remembering that recently.
I might have some trauma (eek I didn't mean to bring that up) to work through but to be honest it's collective and or also and just HUMAN. I am scared of drunk men trying to rape me so I avoided partying. I had a couple good cocktails and did most things during the day.
I was lonely only when I wanted to party. There was this military hair cut dude that was getting drunker trying to catch my eye so I left the “cool” bar before it could get anywhere else and found the most Puerto Rican Crunch Wrap I ever had in my life and um happy, wise me went home unfucked and grateful.
Trust me I ask myself frequently am I being scared or wise? And I would like to think the latter in most cases but also I do generally leave the bar alone. So Who's really winning?
No ONE. We are all boring neutral.
I had decided to not wait another year before I have sex again. But this wasn't it.
So, I climbed this mountain with my rental car while I was there. You guys, having a car with a front bumper that can climb a mountain is so cool! We didn't make it to the top but I just felt like a princess in that thing. And if you know me, you know my car. And you know that children like to stare and point at it with disgust and fear in their eyes echoing the voice and terror of my own inner critic.
AND THE FRONT BUMPER WASNT MY FAULT FYI
I ordered a coke and that’s not normal. I need something to pass the time that is free and not water. I feel my lupus kicking in. My hand is getting the ache. Plane rides can’t help it. I’m gonna ibuprofen and not get in my head about it. The person in the row behind  is either chocking or laughing and I can’t tell which. I’m assuming positive one obviously. I just imagined spilling this coke all over me and feel a sense of gratitude that that’s not the case.
That person is laughing btw.
I don’t know how to change my life.  I feel limited and like I’m on a conveyer belt still. I’m happy which is acomplishment but I still have desires for myself unquenched. I still have things to make. I still feel like I lost something I want back.
I love islands. I love the ocean. I love the way the air feels there and that my house plants grow everywhere like weeds on the side of the road. I love golden skin and salty hair and big sky. I was happy to be reacquainted.
Until next time.

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉
Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha
I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.
For those of you interested in reading this, the blog of mine in question that the above shipper mentions in their counter-argument is here for reference. It's titled "Jaken = Rin's Dad?" I'm going to try and keep this short, but I'm also making no such promises. After all, I'm not exactly known for my brevity. haha Now let's get crackin'!
Like you, feministmetalgreymon, did for your recent blog here where you took screenshots of mine to address certain parts, I will be doing the same and dissecting yours accordingly.

Tumblr media
I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.
[Snippet 2]
Tumblr media
Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.
[Snippet 3]
Tumblr media
LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?
That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢
Tumblr media
After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]
Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!
It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.
You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.
So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!
Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!
We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!
Look, I do apologize if the tone of this blog came off as snippy or condescending at times. I do not wish you any ill will, it's just I'm not really sure what you expected to get out of all this besides maybe getting on my nerves perhaps. haha A lot of you shippers have been desperately scrambling to interact with us, lurking in our tags, jumping onto our posts screaming canon and getting so defensive even though you sought us out first. We've been sticking to our tags, so how about you stay in your lane too. By the way since we're on the topic, have you seen Twitter or Reddit?! SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.
Tumblr media
I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.
At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.
Papamaru bids you adieu now. 🤞

ok so... a very intense and angry argument turns into a very heated make out session hc with the pillars (that you write for, ofc!!) 👀😳
A/N: my third time trying to write this request lets hope it works this time lmao. I did not include Mitsuri this time because i was burnt out and i couldnt think of a scenario for her </3
Song of the Day: The Curse / Agnes Obel
Kyojurou ☆
Arguing with Kyojurou is hardly common, especially to an intense degree. The worst it gets to is slightly heated bickering, but still not actual mad arguments with any pointing, accusations, yelling, all that. He knows when to leave a conversation when it’s no longer productive, and to come back to it with a clear head to talk it out civilly.
So if anyone’s going to spur this argument, it’ll probably be you
Kyojurou wouldn’t be pleased at all to be fighting with you- he’s fairly practiced in hiding his displeasure when people are angry with him, but it’s different with you. Simply put, he’s surprised that you’re fighting like this at all, and it leaves a bitter taste in his mouth that he really doesn’t like
So I think it’s Kyojurou who rushes forward and kisses you while you’re in the middle of saying something-
Because truthfully, he’d just want it to stop. He doesn’t want to fight anymore, but he doesn’t want you to be upset, either. He kisses you as he lacks any other better ideas and he’s somewhat desperate
He’s lucky that you kiss him back at all because he’s honestly taken aback by his own actions enough that he wasn’t expecting you to reciprocate. But you do more than reciprocate- you wrap your arms around his shoulders, forcing him closer as your hands weave into his hair and pull.
And now the two of you are playing an entirely different game as you vent out all of your frustrations into kissing Kyojurou, and Kyojurou lets you. It’s honestly very hot in a way that he would have never expected?
When you finally break for air, seeming to have calmed down a bit- Kyojurou still wants to solve the issue and he wants to work out what you were mad about. But now he has a different ‘issue’ and it’s hard to think critically
He urges you to keep kissing him, and why would you say no?
Giyuu ☆
Giyuu tends to avoid fights like Kyojurou does; but the way he tries to avoid all conflict and in general lengthy discussions is what spurs on arguments to begin with
His quiet behavior is charming at times, but irritating during others. Especially when you’re wanting to hear his genuine opinion or thoughts about a serious topic and he won’t really indulge you with an answer
Your fights are hardly explosive, but they can get passive aggressive, I’d imagine
If anyone’s going to initiate a heated, angry makeout between the two of you, it’d most likely be you
Giyuu would never think to make out with you during an argument, so once you suddenly jump on him, he’d definitely be taken aback by your change of behavior
But he’d also be quick to adapt. This is much better than what you were doing before, after all- so he’ll let you kiss him all you want as he bites your lip and gives you a bit of pushback just because Giyuu can be a bit of a brat like that
If you were to stop kissing at any point, he’d secretly be pretty disappointed but he wouldn’t keep you going. But he might try if you bring up the tense subject again, because he just really does Not want to argue with you
And if kissing you solves that, then good. Or he might just scuttle away instead until you’ve calmed down
Tengen ☆
Oh boy. Yum!
I’ve mentioned it before but fighting with Tengen isn’t necessarily uncommon. It’s often spurred by his tendency to unintentionally gaslight or play off some of your concerns
So fighting can happen every once in awhile with Tengen. And I don’t think taking out your frustrations through physical activities is uncommon, either, lmao
Saying that though, I don’t mean to say Tengen is a total dick. He has the capability of being one, but Tengen is also self aware of his actions. He knows when he’s crossed a line, he knows when to apologize, and when he should fix himself up so he can be better for you
A good guy
That being said. The making out part
Either of you could start the making out, honestly. Probably both of you. Who knows? One minute, you’re arguing, the next you’re tugging each other out of your clothes
Tengen’s definitely not against making out or having sex to smooth over arguments. This is what he’s good at.
It’s after the making out and potential love making that the argument is really naturally solved, but Tengen is a good lover and he won’t just assume that things are fine now that you’ve gotten physical
He’ll check if you’re feeling better and really, most of your arguments get solved during pillow talk
Shinobu ☆
ougnghghgn ladie... step on me
Like Kyojurou, the two of you tend to bicker more than fight. But I’d also say she’s similar to Tengen as well where fights definitely have the capability of happening more often than they would with Kyojurou
She’s a feisty woman, and she’s also hard to read at times. This can lead to miscommunications or unattractive reactions that make both of you tangle a bit
Fighting with Shinobu can definitely be a tense event. It’s hardly pleasant and of course, neither of you like fighting, so you both try to ignore it as much as you can. But things tend to happen every once in awhile
Shinobu has the mindset of where if you’re fighting, she wants to Win the Fight. She doesn’t like being wrong, so if she realizes she was in the wrong, I think she tends to panic a bit. Of course, she’s not above admitting her faults, but she definitely doesn’t like doing it. Especially with you
So it’d be during one of these times where she was in the wrong during an argument that she’d shut you up by kissing you, hurried and hot. Despite her size, she nearly knocks you over from her insistent hands
It’s rather obvious what she’s trying to do.
But you should play along! She’ll apologize later to you, this is something I promise. In the meantime, let her distract you with her dizzying kisses
Both of you hardly have heated makeouts like this, so this would be a rare occurrence that you don’t want to let go of.

Prompt: anything with Jiang Yanli, I’d love to see more of her PoV
part 2 of whumptober 20 (JYL/LXC field medicine)
ao3 link
-
It wasn’t that Jiang Yanli never thought about other men.
After all, she was a female cultivator, and her opinion was therefore one of the ones that was rather eagerly solicited when it came to naming the most attractive young masters in the cultivation world; it was only that it had never seemed to matter. After all, she was engaged, and always had been, to her mother’s dearest friend’s only son, and that, it had seemed at the time, was that.
Oh, her father spoke warmly about marrying for love and not for obligation, but Jiang Yanli had never quite understood what he meant. Even if she didn’t love Jin Zixuan, she loved her mother enough to want to respect her wishes, and it was easy enough to dismiss what negative things she’d heard about him – arrogant, self-centered, impetuous, but of course he was still young, and weren’t most teenage boys like that? – and instead daydream about the life she would have in the future.
When she was young, it was mostly daydreams of having some faceless man (she couldn’t imagine little Jin Zixuan, who at three years younger was barely more than a baby) bring her gifts and tease her and kiss her, then say she was the prettiest person he’d ever seen. The way she’d always heard was supposed to be how lovers talked, the way people said that a marriage ought to be like - the way her parents’ marriage had never been.
When she was a bit older, her thoughts drifted away from retreading romantic stories and to the actual work of being married, of being the mistress of Lanling Jin. In the beginning, her duty would be to first and foremost produce an heir and a spare, to remain healthy throughout the process, and to support her husband as he slowly began to take on the duties that would eventually become his, but later on it would get more interesting. A sect leader could not be everywhere, and his wife would often be left in charge when he was not at home – she would have to know everything about the sect, same as him, enough to make decisions in his absence; she would have to answer correspondence, make decisions, negotiate with traders, collect duties, enforce the peace, and she’d also have to manage the sect’s social scene on top of it all.
She probably wouldn’t have much time to cook, Jiang Yanli thought wistfully, thinking about how Lanling women prided themselves on never having to lift a finger for themselves, and threw herself into her favorite hobby now, while she still could. If she was clever about it, she might be able to get good enough at it that her future husband would find some dish of hers that he liked, something that only she could make, and then her cooking would be something done at his request – a charming idiosyncrasy, an indulgence of sweethearts.
When she got older still, and learned about Sect Leader Jin’s philandering and the iron grip of control Madame Jin imposed on Lanling in order to keep her position in the face of all the backstabbing and politics, she thought to herself that that sounded exhausting. But by that point, all of her childhood daydreams had Jin Zixuan’s name on them – although admittedly not his face, for all that he had grown up into one of the most handsome young men of his generation, and certainly not his mannerisms – and it was far too late to raise a fuss now. So Jiang Yanli studied willpower in addition to trade routes, learned how to exploit social norms in addition to how to manage a dinner party, taught herself how to play people just as well as she played the guqin, absorbed the lessons of both murder and mathematics, and above all figured out how to stand up for herself and what she believed in no matter what overwhelming pressure she might face.
Even though Jiang Yanli was pretty sure that Madame Jin wouldn’t appreciate that last part in a daughter-in-law, especially not one reputed to be as easygoing as her father.
(“Let her be upset,” her own mother had snorted when Jiang Yanli had tentatively raised the issue. “Are you supposed to ruin your own future because she’s a bitter old mother-in-law that’d rather not give up control so early? I may have agreed to marry you to her son, A-Li, but she agreed to marry him to my daughter. If she wanted easy and pliable, she should have thought again.”
“But she’s your friend,” Jiang Yanli had said, frowning a little. “Don’t you want her to be happy?”
Her mother had looked tired. “Once, more than anything,” she’d said. “But the chance for that passed long ago.”)
So it wasn’t that she didn’t notice other men. It was just that there was no point in allowing herself to look, and she knew enough of her parents’ marriage, and of Madame Jin’s, to not want to look.
And then, suddenly, there was.
Her engagement was broken. One could say that it happened at her own beloved brothers’ hands, at her father’s blind dislike of arrangements even when it was one his own daughter had long ago accepted and had even learned to long for, but in truth Jin Zixuan was a proper young master, old enough to make decisions for himself, to exercise some control over his own life, and the first bit of control he’d taken into his own hands was to decide that he didn’t want her.
It was – not fine, no. She spent some time crying over it, and yet more time comforting Wei Wuxian who was distraught at having caused her pain, and the most time of all quietly wondering what the point of her existence was now that she was no longer useful as a marriage tool. She’d never been much of a cultivator, never been especially pretty, never been anything more than average – what was the point of her?
Maybe that was when she’d decided to pick up medicine.
Field medicine was womanly enough to satisfy critics, and yet it was something useful in a practical sense: she could save people’s lives, if she only learned enough, and studying she could do.
Sometimes, she even got the chance to save the lives of very attractive people, like when the First Jade of Lan lay crumpled in the cot before her as she patched him up. So this is the one they ranked first, she thought, examining him with her eyes even as she kept her hands busy, and she was forced to admit that the other female cultivators of her generation had good taste. He was devastatingly handsome.
Kind, too, she soon learned; gentle and courteous in his mannerisms. He smiled often, which she appreciated in a person (if one interpreted Jiang Cheng’s scowls as smiles, he smiled nearly as much!), and he seemed to genuinely admire her efforts at medicine, however rudimentary. Over dinner, which he insisted on sharing with her even after he was well on his road to recovery, the conversation between them flowed easily and well: they both had brothers they loved, which was a conversation topic of which neither of them would ever tire, and they both enjoyed art and music. He didn’t know the first thing about cooking, but enjoyed asking questions (especially after she’d made him a meal he particularly enjoyed, which was often), while she enjoyed the way he blushed when she teased him.
She didn’t think much of it, of course. If she couldn’t keep the husband that had been promised to her since before she could walk – if she was too dull, too plain, too weak, too average to be worthy of an untried young man like him – then she definitely had no hope of catching the most attractive and capable young master of their generation, a dashing war hero and sect leader in his own right.
And then, when they were both laughing over an especially hair-brained scheme they’d concocted to try to get Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian to spend more time together – Jiang Yanli had noticed how much Wei Wuxian talked about Lan Wangji once he’d returned to the Lotus Pier, and Lan Xichen swore up and down that Lan Wangji had been no better – he turned to her and said, “If you were in Gusu, your brothers would be sure to come to visit you.”
“Me, in Gusu?” Jiang Yanli was startled into a laugh. “Why would I be in Gusu? As your guest?”
Lan Xichen coughed. “I had been hoping for something – a bit more permanent than that. If that would be something you would be open to.”
It actually took her a moment to understand, and then she had to raise her hands to cover her suddenly burning cheeks.
“You don’t have to say anything now,” he said hastily. “Just something to think about, if you’re interested…and of course, if your heart is elsewhere –”
“It isn’t,” she blurted out, and had to turn away.
“I’d hoped that was the case,” he said quietly, his voice warm. “I’ll take my leave, Mistress Jiang.”
Jiang Yanli had grown up thinking of herself as the future mistress of Lanling Jin, with its riches and its beauty and its poisonous heart, and then she’d assumed she’d be nothing at all, an old maid that helped Jiang Cheng manage his sect until he finally found a wife to suit him.
She’d never thought about being the mistress of Gusu Lan.
Gusu Lan, which was not as wealthy as Lanling Jin but just as complex – with its own trade routes and subordinate sects and business to manage – with its beautiful and serene landscape, its culture that emphasized harmony and unity rather than backstabbing – with no overbearing mother-in-law that would have barely been tolerable even when her own mother would have been there to hold her back, but would have been impossible without such protection –
She hadn’t dreamt of Lan Xichen as a child, or even as a teenager, but when she thought about all those dreams with a faceless man that she’d named Jin Zixuan regardless of any similarity to the real thing…
Lan Xichen fit in much better to the idea in her head than the real Jin Zixuan ever had.
“I won’t live separately,” she told him when he came over the next day, before he could even say a word; it had been just about the only problem she could see with his proposal. “In another house, certainly, but not an entirely different dwelling, and if I have any children, I would want them to live with me regardless of their gender.”
“I wouldn’t dream of having you so far away,” he said, and he was smiling again, broad and bright and – somehow, impossibly – hers. “Might I kiss you?”
“You may,” she said, and he did.
“Mistress Jiang,” Lan Xichen said a moment later, “you’re the most remarkable woman I’ve ever met.”
Remarkable, Jiang Yanli thought to herself, was better than pretty any day.

Part 1 - Basic Concepts of Miraculous Ladybug: Miraculous Jewels
Alright! I promised you meta and now I deliver!
I feel like people mostly watch Miraculous for the romance these days. Shipping is all everyone cares about. I wonder why? Probably because writers themselves don't take their worldbuilding very seriously and because they don't put much effort into making the audience care about something other than Love Square, like the mythology behind the Miraculous, or motivations of the main villain, or some pretty heavy topics for a kid's show that they bring up and then refuse to touch again. You know, all the good things. And this is coming from someone who is a passionate multishipper. I have lived through several shipping wars in different fandoms and came out victorious after all.
I am probably the only person out there who cares about the big picture, the overall storyline and the worldbuilding of Miraculous in addition to all details and implications that could develop into fascinating plotlines relevant to the main story. It is a rather lonely fandom experience, I must confess. But, hey? Who cares? I am here to have fun and bring to the table discussions no one wants to have.
So, let's talk about the basics.
If you, as the writing team, are capable of keeping only 1 thing consistent, then please, I beg you, let it be the basic concepts of your universe. Because in this case, one has to actively put effort into writing characters and conflict resolutions badly. And also because nothing can save bad worldbuilding.
I don't have high worldbuilding standards for Miraculous. They certainly aren't as high as the ones I had for Legend of Korra (which was a badly written trainwreck, that ATLA doesn't deserve as a sequel) or the ones I currently have for Dragon Prince. Therefore I won't be too harsh in my criticisms. Granted, I think that Miraculous has better worldbuilding and lore consistency than Winx Club for example (I haven't seen the reboot yet, so writers might have fixed their worldbuilding at least a little bit). Even though I enjoyed Winx when I was younger and some elements of this story still attract me.
Both serialised and episodic shows as well as movies to the lesser extent must have some flexibility in worldbuilding and plot because you can never be 100% sure where your story is going. Maybe, you'll get money for more seasons, maybe not. However, you must never lose sight of your basic concepts. They have to stay the same no matter what, because rewriting lore and retconning major developments every new season is not and never will be called good writing.
Forgive me for using architectural metaphors, but you need a solid foundation to build any kind of structure. Otherwise, everything falls apart.
I like to apply this logic to writing as well. When designing a world where your story takes place, you must lay a few ground rules. It's especially important if you have a magic system. What kind of ideas absolutely must exist? What kind of conclusion do you want your story to have? Does your magic system has limitations? Where is the grey area? Could you introduce new elements later on?
And I feel like the writing team of Miraculous Ladybug did not ask these questions. This may feel like I am nit-picking canon material and looking for problems that simply aren't there, but I promise that I am not. You see, things that I am about to point out only seem small at first glance. But these details are actually the source of the largest plotholes in the series. And their presence negatively affects character development, conflicts and resolutions of said conflicts.
That doesn't mean that I have nothing good to say about the magic system of the show and its elements. There are a lot of great ideas and concepts. And some of them have the potential to contribute to the delightful story.
Let's dive right into it, shall we?
Tumblr media
Camouflage
I have to give credit where it's due because the idea of camouflage and shapeshifting for Miraculouses is brilliant. It seems like Miraculous can't fundamentally change its type of jewellery or accessory. The ring will always be the ring but with a different ornament, colour or shape. This is true most of the time (Monkey Miraculous is an exception since it transformed into earplugs/headphones/headband/circlet) It makes sense and avoids plotholes. Grimoire doesn't have the pictures of each Miraculous in disguise for identity protection. That was very neat too. I have no comments. This concept was very good.
Also, since Marinette wore a nose ring of the Ox in "Kwamibuster" without any problem and Adrien wore Ladybug's earrings in "Reflekdoll", we can assume that you don't need to have piercings to wear a Miraculous. Miraculous just magically passes through your skin.
I'm interested to know the following. Can Kwamis recognise a camouflaged Miraculous on a person? Can the holder order them to confess the identity of this person? This shouldn't be possible for identity protection just like with Kwamis sensing each other. But more on that in later posts.
Power Levels
For a long time, we assume that there are only 7 Miraculouses. Turtle belongs to Master Fu, Gabriel has Butterfly and Peacock, Marinette and Adrien have Ladybug and Black Cat. Everything is pretty straightforward. Then it's revealed that there are more jewels and more boxes. It makes the worldbuilding interesting, but it also majorly complicates things, making them inconsistent.
Their position in the Miracle Box implies their power levels. Creation and destruction are the most powerful forces in existence, therefore they are at the top. Moreover, it makes this Box the most important, the most powerful out of all others. Su Han in "Furious Fu" calls it "Mother Miracle Box". Fox, Turtle, Bee, Butterfly and Peacock have less power than the main pair, but more than the Miraculous of the lower Zodiac tier (since they correspond with animals of the Chinese Zodiac).
1. Ladybug can create anything out of nothing (Lucky Charm, which gives what you need the most at the moment). This Miraculous can resurrect the dead, reverse the effects of the Cataclysm. The power of Miraculous Cure or Miraculous Ladybug can work in several ways:
it simply repairs the damage (puts stuff back together, heals injuries and so on)
it reverses time for the matter, restoring things back to the state they were before the destruction occurred (however, the Cure doesn't erase people's memories of everything that happened unless they were mind-controlled, frozen in place or transformed by Akuma into something else - this is an important point that I'll discuss some other time)
How does Miraculous Cure work when there are no supervillians? In NY Special Marinette just says this.
Tumblr media
Excuse me, what? What was that? You can't do anything when the villain is gone? What the hell?
*insert here every scene where Ladybug fixed Paris after destroying akumatized/amokized object (this action causes the Akuma victim to detransform/sentimonster to disappear - villain is gone) and purifying butterfly and feather*
It was such cheap angst. I couldn't even be upset when Adrien gave up his Miraculous, because that whole situation is just stupid. But, never mind. We aren't talking about that today.
Apparently, Lucky Charm and Miraculous Cure only work when summoned to battle a specific villain. What is the point then? Huh? You can't tell me that Ladybug has the power of unlimited creation and then say that she can't repair the damage without a special Lucky Charm that was magically synchronised with specific big bad of the week.
Ladybug also can purify Akumas. It makes sense for Ladybug to have the ability to reverse the magic of less powerful Miraculous. But this power can't be applied universally. How does this power of reversal apply to different situations where there is no evil Butterfly holder? Can Ladybug reverse the magic of any Miraculous?
The unlimited power of creation introduced in season 4 ("Mr. Pidgeon 72") is another fascinating thing. On one hand, it's logical and proves the status of this Miraculous as the most powerful. On the other hand, by introducing this power, you have created a plothole. Look, Marinette can create the charm which repels Akumas. If Ladybug can create anything then what stops her from creating a tool for finding Hawkmoth (like special glasses for discovering identities or a compass)? I mean, the show says that the power of creation is unlimited, it means that the creation of such tool is possible.
2. Black Cat can destroy anything with Cataclysm, even other Miraculous. He can kill living things and turn them into ash, but not himself. This Miraculous is supposed to have other special abilities that we don't see. And they should be equal to powers of Ladybug, both in number and in potency. Unfortunately, after 3 seasons writers didn't give us anything. It makes laughable the idea of balance between Ladybug and Black Cat.
Now, to the second tier. These Miraculouses have a singular ability, but they need a second one to keep the power balanced between Zodiac and the main pair.
3. Butterfly creates champions with different superpowers. But how does the time limit of children work for Butterfly? In theory, the countdown should start right after the creation of the Akuma since for Ladybug and Chat Noir countdown starts after activation of their powers even if they don't use them. However, if the countdown of the Butterfly begins after Akuma creation then there's no point because the holder has to stay transformed to guide their champion. The charged butterfly won't have time to even grant powers before the transformation of the child-holder drops. This issue is never explored because Gabriel doesn't have a time limit. However, I feel like it should be addressed in flashbacks of past Butterfly holders for example.
This Miraculous should be less powerful than Ladybug and Black Cat. It's often not. Some Akumas are too overpowered. Stormy Weather can move the Earth away from the Sun, Timetagger can send people through time and jump through time as well, Chat Blanc destroyed the world with a single energy blast, Miraculer could steal powers of those more powerful than her by default. These are the most notable examples. One could argue that Chat Blanc was a different case. Hawkmoth simply gave the most powerful Miraculous a boost. However, we know that even without a holder (the wildest and the most powerful form of uncontrolled Miraculous magic) Plagg's Cataclysm can't destroy the universe just like that (he presumably wiped out dinosaurs and sunk Atlantis on his own without a holder). I think that the less powerful Miraculous (Butterfly) shouldn't be able to increase the power of destruction to such a degree and give Black Cat the power to destroy celestial bodies and galaxies.
Writers want us to see Hawkmoth as the formidable villain. But it's not easy because he is less powerful than your main heroes by default of your worldbuilding. Sometimes writers make the Butterfly more powerful than creation and destruction to raise the stakes, breaking the laws of their magic system. So, how do you solve this? Let Ladybug and Black Cat keep their status as the most powerful and instead of giving Hawkmoth more magical power, make him smarter, more cunning, inventive. Gabriel is a fashion designer, whose creativity makes him a very good Butterfly holder. He has a life full of experience, he knows much more about things than the main teenage characters. Catalyst was very interesting for this very reason. Gabriel sort of discovered a cheat code to boost his powers. Show us how he experiments with his powers, how he analyses his past Akumas and tries to find the most effective ones. Maybe Gabriel tries to design Akumas that can specifically neutralise Ladybug and Chat Noir. This exploration could also give writers an opportunity to explain how the powers of Butterfly work. Can he control the type of powers he grants? Can he control the appearance of Akumas? There are many things to be explored.
4. Peacock creates sentimonsters. I remember that fans were very disappointed when the power of the Peacock was revealed at the end of season 2. I was one of them. The concept of Amoks is far too similar to akumatized butterflies. Other Miraculouses have unique abilities and keywords for their powers, while Peacock just looks like Butterfly 2.0. That glowing mask effect just adds insult to injury.
You have to start by figuring out the powers of the Peacock in a normal situation. If a holder is a good person, then how does their power work? For example, make them related to sight (because of the "eye" pattern on feathers). Maybe, Peacock grants the ability to see the several possibilities of the future, but only a few minutes ahead. Maybe, this Miraculous gives you the ability to see through someone's eyes for a few minutes (and the victim is completely unaware of the intrusion). Perhaps, Peacock allows the holder to use feathers (or tiny peacocks) as cameras one at a time and be all-seeing. These feather-spies can be destroyed by the holder or disappear on their own after some time. Such power could be devastating when used against heroes in canon.
5. Bee can paralyze. This power is pretty straightforward. Once I read a fanfiction focused on very vell done Chloe Redemption, where she fights alongside Ladybug and Chat Noir. Eventually, she grows and becomes a better person. This fic ends with an Akuma battle, where LB and CN are trapped and Akuma is ready to kill them. But Chloe uses a second power of the Bee on the villain - Miraculous Stinger. It's deadly both for the holder and for the victim (because bees die when they sting someone). Chloe kills the Akuma with a Stinger before it can get LB and CN, but she too dies making the ultimate irreversible sacrifice. I will add a link if I find it again.
6. Turtle can create a shield. I don't have much to say on this either. It feels underpowered compared to others in the second tier. Maybe Turtle can also slow down opponents (because turtles aren't the fasters animals out there).
7. Fox creates illusions and acts as their puppeteer. In order to create a balance between other powers, these illusions must hold for as long as the holder needs them to. I propose this mostly because we see that Venom of the Bee lasts very long, the shield of the Turtle lasts either until it's destroyed or the holder wants to remove it, same goes for Akumas and sentimonsters who disappear only when the holder wants them to or their affected object is destroyed.
Let's talk about Zodiac tier. Miraculous of the third tier shouldn't have the second ability like more powerful ones. These powers are the most inconsistent. Even if we haven't seen all of them yet.
8. Mouse can create many small clones of the holder. It is unclear how these clones communicate with each other and how many of them this Miraculous can create. The holder can control the number of clones. This power was very convenient in "Kwamibuster" and it makes sense symbolically for the mouse. What activates the time-limit for children? Marinette didn't have any problems with it when she became Multimouse.
9. Snake can create a 5-minute time loop and has the ability to come back in time. This Miraculous feels a bit overpowered for the Miraculous of the Zodiac Tier. The holder can reset the time as many times as he/she needs to. It's was a good source of drama and trauma in "Desperada". I was honestly surprised that Adrien was capable of fighting after spending months in a loop. But this doesn't change the fact that Snake is overpowered. You can give this Miraculous the power to hypnotise or keep the time ability but place a limit on the number of resets. How does the lyre work as a weapon? Who knows? No one!
10. Dragon can shapeshift into elements: water, wind and lightning. It has the coolest transformation words hands down (Bring the Storm and Open Sky). Apparently this Miraculous doesn't have the time limit.
11. Rabbit can time travel or jump through alternative realities, even writers aren't sure. Time-travel in this show is so badly written it gives me a headache. This Miraculous shouldn't exist just like its powers. Snake belongs to the same tier, but 5 minutes and whole centuries of time jumps aren't comparable in power levels. They are not and this is the hill I will die on. Give the Rabbit powers related to its symbolism in China like an ability to de-age people, heal them or give them a speed boost in contrast with Turtle who might have the ability to slow down.
This Miraculous is so special that its Kwami - Fluff can live separately from his Miraculous in a Miracle Box for millennia (Fluff lives in the Box in "Sandboy", but his Miraculous, pocket watch, was passed down for generations in Alix's family). This is a discussion for a separate post, however. There's a lot to unpack. We'll do that some other time. You will suffer with me but at a later date.
12. Horse can create portals. They could lead anywhere, which is pretty cool. On the other hand, this power is not very useful in direct combat, especially when it's used by a child since we can have only one portal per transformation.
13. Monkey can cause a malfunction in powers of other people. What is the point of this? This power was specifically created by writers to defeat Akuma in "Party Crasher". That's it. What if your target is not magical? How does this Miraculous work in different circumstances?
14. Pig shows people their greatest desire. Both the holder and the recipient of this power can see this desire. Chat Noir wasn't impressed in "Guiltrip" and neither was I. It's underpowered compared to other Miraculous in this tier. Also, why does the tambourine can shoot energy beams? Why?
That's all I have to say on the matter. I'll update the power analysis as needed.

The Grand AWAE Gilbert Blythe Rant
So, if you've exchanged DMs with me about a piece of media, chances are that I have at some point gone off on some kind of critical tangent (okay, rant) about it.
I do that a lot. Not because I don't love what I'm talking about, but because I love critically engaging with media. No piece of media is perfect, and no fandom or person or character is perfect. And honestly, I think more of us need to sit with that idea that "I really love this thing" and "this thing could and should have done better in regards to this topic" can coexist for many pieces of media. Not all, mind you. But we're not digging in that trash heap.
Because it's one of the fandoms I am currently most involved in, the focus of a lot of my critical DMs focuses on Anne With an E. Love the show to bits. It's wonderful in a lot of ways.
But man oh man, do I really not love the positioning of Gilbert Blythe as a perfect feminist and unshakable ally. Gilbert does have flaws, and ones I wish the show explored if it was really that keen on him as a deuteragonist. There are also bits of his story that I wish had gone differently. (Though whatever changes I'd have liked, Bash needs to stay in his life. I adore their dynamic and I love Bash on his own merit. The whole Hanford-Lacroix blended family, really. With Mary alive, which is another bone I have to pick with this show. I want to post about that, too, but in this post, I will focus on Gilbert.)
Before we begin, bear in mind that these are my thoughts and mine alone, and that I am not any sort of professional or otherwise credentialed critic or scholar. (I say this not to pre-emptively absolve myself of errors or damage, but to say that this is an opinion piece and if I fuck up, it’s on me.) I am also NOT a Gilbert anti. (Or an LJZ anti. If you are here to complain about LJZ... No.) I am just a netizen with a phone and way too much time on their hands.
So... Gilbert. What's good about him? A lot, actually. He is clearly a kind and empathetic boy/young man. He's clever and hardworking and loyal to those he cares about. His actor is adorable and gets the job done. Any criticism I have of Gilbert is not due to his actor.
What's the criticism? Well, there are a few bits.
His color-blindness
Gilbert seems to operate on at least a type of color-blindness when it comes to race. While that means he doesn't assume anything negative about anyone just because of their skin color, it means he is also shockingly (I would say anachronistically but, full disclosure: I have done no research) naive to the fact that racism is actually exercised. Like, this kid is supposed to be well-traveled. Maybe that's only really been among people who look like him, but he's aware of the Bog. Literally aware of the slum. And he doesn't seem to think the people who live there deserve their conditions, and yet, he seems continually shocked when racism is pointed out to him or when he has to factor race into decisions. He is appropriately outraged, but he seems to be surprised that racism isn't just something that happens in dark alleys. He doesn't for a moment think that the factors limiting Bash's future are external, even as he seems to understand that it's not for lack of drive or desire on Bash's part. And when he reneges on his deal to stay with Bash for a year so Bash can learn to farm, he tells Bash to figure it out when Bash rightfully points out that pretty much nobody in Avonlea would help him. And while he puts Bash on the deed to show he's committed to his word later, 1) I imagine someone could try to contest that legally, and regardless of success, that exposes Bash to more people who don't like him, and 2) he doesn't... really apologize or verbalize that he's realized the error.
And for that second point, boy does it show in season 3! Of course, Bash is ready to and more capable of running the farm and the orchard, and he does have help from his family, but there is clearly still a stigma against Black people in Avonlea and the surrounding areas. The shopkeeper certainly isn't going to sell to him or his family! Of course, the Lyndes and the Cuthberts and MAYBE the Barrys might help, but still, that's not really a great solution. And if there is trouble that someone won't help with, how is Gilbert supposed to know quickly? Telegrams exist, of course, but whether he's at the Sorbonne or Toronto, that's a long travel back if his presence is required.
To give Gilbert the benefit of the doubt, maybe they worked all this out off-screen. But Bash's arguments with Hazel suggest that Gilbert (and Bash!) just seem to think it'll work out. Or maybe Bash just doesn't want to reveal his plans to his mom out of anger. Stranger things have happened…
The most frustrating thing is that the show does give us glimpses into these being possibly deliberate flaws! However, as I'll reiterate time and again, it did not take enough time to focus on one -ism, instead trying to tackle every possible issue of the day, achieving a surface-level victory on many, and deep-diving on practically none, which leaves a critically engaged audience thinking that at best, the attempts to tackle the issues are just a jumping-off point for more pondering, and at worst, performative. I don't like to think that this show was intentionally performative, but its time was certainly used less than ideally.
His other assumption problems
Does Gilbert understand he's not a mind reader?
Genuinely asking.
Maybe it's because he knows he's smart. Maybe it's because he's exhausted from trying to be an adult when he really should have had time to be a child. (And we'll get to that!)
But time and time and time and TIME AGAIN, Gilbert just… makes assumptions that don't make sense for him to make based on the world around him.
I'm not talking about the dance practice. Anne and Gilbert both run away there and given that I literally did the same with a crush in high school, I can't even say it's unrealistic. I'm not talking about the bonfire scene. The bonfire scene is probably its own essay. But at least Anne is saying something that is akin to "there's [no] chance for us", as he tells Bash. I will grudgingly admit that she does effectively babble that she can't choose him (and he shouldn't choose her) because of the opportunity he's been given.
That said, Gilbert does seem to take it a step farther and assume that Anne doesn't have feelings for him, instead of clueing into the bit where Winifred is involved. And like, how is it possible that he doesn't? HOW DOES THIS YOUNG MAN GET TO THE POINT OF GETTING PERMISSION FROM NIGEL ROSE TO PROPOSE WITHOUT REALIZING HE'S SERIOUSLY COURTING AND NOT JUST PLAYING AT IT?
Again, he seems to be semi-aware of this at times. Maybe he was just… expecting things to drag on a bit longer before that and he'd be able to summon the courage to speak to Anne in the interim. But given that he asks Winnie out for tea basically out of spite of Anne "rejecting" him on the train (Where, notably, Anne apologizes immediately! He's not honor-bound to accept, but like, wow, when he's in, he's in, and when he's out, he's out.), he knows what he's doing.
Regarding Anne, he also seems to think that she should understand how he's looking at her and what it means. He's known Anne for three years. They are (ostensibly—again, I have a bone to pick with the show about not actually showing this unless it's for drama) good friends. You'd think, somewhere in all that, he'd have noticed that Anne is, to put it kindly, oblivious. He's certainly aware when that changes! (Okay, maybe I'm a little sore about the dance practice. But again, I have no room to criticize there.)
I'm going to blow straight past "aRe YoU cHoPpInG oNiOnS?" because I literally just canNOT with that scene. I can't. It's bad, it's terrible, it's some really unfortunate foreshadowing that Gilbert will NOT clock to Anne's drunken state at the bonfire because he's angsting over the Winnie situation. (Which he also kind of is during the onions thing? He wants cufflinks to impress the Roses, remember.) Ironically, it's Anne who's angsting over the whole Winnie thing during their fair misunderstanding. The misunderstanding where Gilbert LITERALLY DITCHES HIS DATE TO COMFORT HIS *ahem* GOOD FRIEND WHO DOESN'T TALK AT ALL ABOUT THE THING HE THINKS SHE'S UPSET ABOUT BUT INSTEAD TALKS ABOUT HIS DATE. ALMOST AS IF SHE'S UPSET THAT SHE ISN'T HIS DATE.
AND THEN, this boy has the audacity to basically forget that he's courting Winnie and get upset when Anne doesn't also forget that during the porch scene. (Side note: that scene is SO FUCKING BEAUTIFULLY SHOT AND ACTED AND MY HEART BREAKS EVERY TIME.) Like, dude, THIS COULD BE SOLVED IF YOU JUST PICKED A GIRL. But nope, if he's not sure Anne wants him, he'll… almost marry someone else before having a last-minute epiphany that he can't, which only Winnie and Diana really chew him out for.
Anne, on the other hand… Oh god. The kiss.
Okay.
So.
I cheered just as loudly and obnoxiously as anyone when that kiss happened and then screamed when I realized that Shirbert was "solved" with literally 3 minutes to go in the show which was INCREDIBLY unsatisfying and I KNOW they didn't know they weren't getting more seasons but the pacing of season 3 was sorta kinda really SHIT and—
Ahem.
To address what I really want to address: Gilbert only knows that Anne wrote a note to him saying she loved him. In fact, he learns this information secondhand from Diana and doesn't seem to think that Diana might not have all the facts. Fortunately for him, her facts are correct, but she doesn't actually have all the facts and neither does he.
Neither of them know that Anne has spoken with Winnie and is thus apprised of the situation. So, when Gilbert rocks up to find Anne all hot and disheveled, he doesn't clear things up with her. He doesn't say "I need to tell you that Winifred and I are done and it's because I love you and I've been an idiot" before he kisses her. Maybe that's not to ruin the cinematic effect of the kiss, but he certainly doesn't say it after, either! If Anne hadn't run into Winnie, I expect she would have had questions.
Maybe that last bit would have been addressed in season 4, but I doubt it.
Story stuff
Okay, this is going to be a bit of a rapid-fire round.
His initial "let's not talk about Josie's assault" thing is half bad thing, half good thing. Why half good thing? Because it's a realistic flaw! This boy has flaws! And he kind of learns from them! He does talk to the class about Anne and everyone listens because it's him. That's… actually not bad. And he shows up as a friend for Anne in the rest of the episode which is super nice. It's just frustrating because he definitely saw Anne confronting Billy and didn't seem to think that maybe Anne had a point at first.
Now for the stuff that grinds my gears a little more:
Gilbert is an orphan, like Anne. Why? To make him "sad and handsome", as Ruby says? To give him more of an excuse to have a story? Bash could have entered his life in any number of ways; John didn't need to die for that, and Gilbert didn't need to be the handsome boy with the tragic backstory.
Gilbert is nearly always framed as the reasonable one in fights with Anne. I think this may be more of a fandom misogyny thing than an actual story thing, but even when Gilbert is being just as petulant and petty as Anne, it's always Anne who has to apologize, and always Anne who takes the heat in fandom.
Gilbert (and this is the big one) basically gets to avoid the fallout from everything and never looks bad. See last point about his arguments with Anne, and also the unfinished stuff with Bash, but also, he just fucks off to Toronto, leave Anne to deal with the fallout and gossip about Winnie, who seems pretty damn sure there will be some.
On the heels of both that last point and Gilbert being an orphan: Gilbert gets storylines and opportunities Anne should have had. He gets a rich love interest (who we KNOW he won't choose over Anne—they literally had to make her rich and perfect just to drive home the fact that he will never choose anyone over Anne no matter how many reasons he gets!) and, though Anne has the same test scores as he does, she curiously doesn't get the same college opportunities as he does.
As I put it to @practicallyasleep, "godDAMN does this show reward Gilbert for being white and male". His few flaws are sort of glossed over where they're addressed at all. For a deuteragonist, or even a secondary main character, he's… not well-fleshed out. He's not given as much opportunity to have or demonstrate his growth. Instead, he's some kind of near-perfect male romantic lead sprung fully formed directly from Moira Walley-Beckett's head, and honestly, I think that does him a great disservice.

Thank you for answering my question. This is what I come back to. People think Jimin and Jungkook are in a relationship based on stuff from official content, not seeing them in the street on their time off. There is almost nothing outside of official content that adds to that belief, that I know of. So by analyzing content, would you say that you are indirectly adding to existing speculatory discourse about their orientation? Can those things ever be separated? Even associating with Jikook blogs and saying you read the discourse, you hint at a personal belief. I believe you believe they are not straight men, correct me if I am wrong. Talking about art and intent is worthy. A lot of blog readers are mostly in these spaces to hear their Jikook intuitions supported and that is not a crime either.
Another question I consider important is what role does personal identity play in criticism? Should being non asian or non queer, for example, be a factor of consideration for people sharing and expressing their ideas? I am going to be honest and say that I think it matters who is saying what. I like to know who I am reading. This is not to be gatekeeper about it. If you want to decenter western concepts of 'queer' from discourse about Korean performers that is commendable no matter who you are.
Is it bad that a critic's identity matters in how I recieve their criticism? I don't want to shut anyone out. But before I delve into someone's ideas, I like to have these cards on the table. Is that bigoted? I am not saying I value the critique of white, cis, non queer people less. I have experienced feelings of alienation reading criticism at times. Just look at the statistics for how many published film critics in the western sphere are white and male. Shouldn't that affect how we think about popular criticism? Thanks for taking timewith these questions. I understand how they might recieved as invading of your privacy or identity. Please feel free to ignore of course.
Anon, I got your other ask telling me that it's not necessary to publish this if I feel uncomfortable to talk about my identity. It's good that you reconsidered, realized why it's not ok and you are more than capable and have the option to choose what you want to read. I didn't answer your questions not because I was uncomfortable, but because I wanted to take some time and really think about what I'm going to say. I'm addressing it now because I want my position to be very clear for everyone because I will not repeat myself.
I will break down your ask in two parts:
All I did was to write about GCFT and how a piece of media can be analyzed. I also said that I'm aware of what is written on jikook blogs and from what perspective. But from that to immediately assume I have some beliefs is a long way to go because I never talked about this and I never will. I don't believe in anything, I look at content and write about what I see. I only plan to write about MMA Black Swan performance in the future as an artistic act that involves JM/JK and I will back it up with references that will sustain my point on view. I am aware of all shipping content (from multiple ships) that exists in this fandom and of course I know the one that involves Jimin and Jungkook. I would have to be completely ignorant and not be aware of what's been going on online to not figure that one out. I will also not address the type of content and information that is used by people who speculate and write about them, there are numerous blogs and twitter accounts who do that. This topic ends here as I clearly stated my position on what type of writing I will be doing.
I don't think my identity should be disclosed in order for my opinions to be valid. It's just that, an opinion on tumblr, nothing more. You have the right to choose what you want to read based on your own criteria. I do not hold such a view when it comes to criticism. What's important is the approach the critic has, how informed a critic can be on the topic they're writing about, regardless of racial or sexual identity. Not to mention that this should not be a demand. I certainly never had to do that or expected to see such information when I read something. And last but not least, I may write posts using criticism, but this a blog where I just publish my thoughts. Sometimes I do a bit of research, other times I just state my opinions. Everyone is free to be ok with it or not.

ASSERTIVE ARCHITECT
Introduction
WHO IS AN ARCHITECT (INTJ)?An Architect (INTJ) is a person with the Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging personality traits. These thoughtful tacticians love perfecting the details of life, applying creativity and rationality to everything they do. Their inner world is often a private, complex one.
“Thought constitutes the greatness of man. Man is a reed, the feeblest thing in nature, but he is a thinking reed.” - BLAISE PASCAL
It can be lonely at the top. As one of the rarest personality types – and one of the most capable – Architects (INTJs) know this all too well. Rational and quick-witted, Architects may struggle to find people who can keep up with their nonstop analysis of everything around them.
A Thirst for Knowledge
These personalities can be both the boldest of dreamers and the bitterest of pessimists. Architects believe that, through willpower and intelligence, they can achieve even the most challenging of goals. But they may be cynical about human nature more generally, assuming that most people are lazy, unimaginative, or simply doomed to mediocrity. Architects derive much of their self-esteem from their knowledge and mental acuity. In school, people with this personality type may have been called “bookworms” or “nerds.” But rather than taking these labels as insults, many Architects embrace them. They are confident in their ability to teach themselves about – and master – any topic that interests them, whether that’s coding or capoeira or classical music.
“You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant.” - HARLAN ELLISON
Architects can be single-minded, with little patience for frivolity, distractions, or idle gossip. That said, it would be a mistake to stereotype these personalities as dull or humourless. Many Architects are known for their irreverent wit, and beneath their serious exteriors, they often have a sharp, delightfully sarcastic sense of humour.
Finding a Better Way
Architects question everything. Many personality types trust the status quo, relying on conventional wisdom and other people’s expertise as they go about their lives. But ever-sceptical Architects prefer to make their own discoveries. In their quest to find better ways of doing things, they aren’t afraid to break the rules or risk disapproval – in fact, they rather enjoy it. But as anyone with this personality type would tell you, a new idea isn’t worth anything unless it actually works. Architects want to be successful, not just inventive. They bring a single-minded drive to their passion projects, applying the full force of their insight, logic, and willpower.
They also generally feel comfortable making decisions without asking for anyone else’s input. At times, this lone-wolf behaviour can come across as insensitive, as it fails to take into consideration other people’s thoughts, desires, and plans.
At times, Architects may wonder if dealing with other people is even worth the frustration. But like any personality type, Architects do crave social interaction – they’d just prefer to surround themselves with people who share their values and priorities. Often, they can achieve this just by being themselves. When Architects pursue their interests, their natural confidence can draw people to them – professionally, socially, and even romantically.
The Chess Game of Life
This personality type is full of contradictions. Architects are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, and curious yet focused. From the outside, these contradictions may seem baffling, but they make perfect sense once you understand the inner workings of the Architect mind. For Architects, life is like a giant game of chess. Relying on strategy rather than chance, they contemplate the strengths and weaknesses of each move before they make it. And they never lose faith that, with enough ingenuity and insight, they can find a way to win – no matter what challenges might arise along the way.
The Assertive Type
Assertive Architects are likely to approach the things they do with a greater degree of self-assurance. These Architects feel more confident about handling the stressors that are inevitably a part of life. They are less likely to experience regret if things go wrong. So, stressors and past failures are less likely to be motivators.
However, confidence isn’t everything and may not always guarantee success. For Turbulent Architects, many of their best efforts come from concerns about real or perceived shortcomings. This may push them to work harder and be more meticulous in an attempt to do better or make things better. These personalities are more thorough – not despite the fact that they worry, but because they do worry. Turbulent Architects are likely to carry their diligent desire for improvement into any of their personal or professional endeavours.

Heya if its ok could you do headcanons for slyvain, felix and Calude with an s/o that's constantly getting compared to there older siblings by they parents and they feel like there not good enough. Also I really like your work
{Hi! Sorry this took so long. It’s been a wild few weeks. thanks for the compliment and here ya go!}
Sylvain:
I think Sylvain would be at a loss and that his reaction would heavily rely on how he’d learn of your insecurities. This is because sibling rivalry is not something uncommon among nobility
It tears families apart, literally. Just look at how things turned out between him and Miklan. Status and competition ripped his family to shreds
He wants to be angry for you, but a part of him refuses. He basically feels as if he’s lost the right. It’s sad considering that his childhood wasn’t the greatest, but Sylvain feels that compared to the treatment Miklan received he got the better end of the bargain. He hates his crest, and how it pitted him against his brother. Yet he knows deep down that while Miklan was a jerk to him, the entire family treated his brother like garbage.
Sylvain also knows that what happened with Miklan wasn’t his fault, and that nothing excuses how his elder brother treated him while they grew up. Yet...he doesn’t know what being on the short end of sibling comparison feels like. All his life he’s always been the one with the crest, the one to inherit the title, the one viewed as worthy, and while he hates the ‘crest privilege,’ Sylvain knows that life could have been different. Worse.
He can’t have a heart-to-heart with his brother to talk it over either. Sylvain is aware he will never truly understand what Miklan was feeling.
He doesn’t want that for you. Sylvain doesn’t want your fate to match his brother’s and depending on your relationship with them he might encourage you to reach out to your sibling. He is involved and actively trying to find a peaceful solution that will get you away from the negativity.
He’s there for you and sets aside his personal feelings on the topic to be a support pillar. This knowledge won’t avidly change how you two interact, but he does make it clear that you can always come to him when you’re feeling inadequate. You may feel many emotions, ones that he might not fully understand. Yet you will never be alone.
Felix:
Your personal matters are not something Felix involves himself in often. He’s a firm believer of ‘privacy,’ and never pokes around in other peoples’ affairs. It’s unnecessary drama.
In other words: he views your relationship as two interlocked rings, sort of like a Venn diagram. You have your life, he has his, and whatever falls in the middle is what you two share.
Except for serious issues. If you are ever in danger, suffering, frightened, anxious, ill, etc. he bypasses the rule of personal segregation and forces his way in. He has a protective streak that clouds his sense of judgement from time to time, so be prepared. His personal feelings might come across strong.
If it were a simple sibling squabble Felix would tell you to get over it, but if you confide in him whole heartedly the situation will escalate. He does not like seeing you broken. Not over something that could be avoided.
You see, like Sylvain, this is a sore spot for Felix. His entire childhood he fought to break free from Glenn’s shadow and keep up with his friends. It left him emotionally tattooed with a failure complex, and his father’s behavior after Glenn’s death did not help. The difference is that it was himself doing the comparison, not his family. While Felix won’t openly say so, Rodrigue treated him with as much care as his brother. He was pushed to the best of his capabilities and the only one setting the expectations was himself.
He can’t comprehend why a parent would compare their children. To be so naive and insulting; he thinks they don’t deserve to have kids at all. Said thought filters into his solution to the problem.
He’s very direct with his involvement. If your family wants to behave like irresponsible twats then he will encourage you to separate from them. He’ll point out that family goes beyond blood, and that you don’t need negativity squandering your true potential. He’s certain that his father wouldn’t mind taking you in considering your relationship.
(No, he’s not proposing. We all know that Rodrigue would bend over backwards if Felix actually reached out for a favor. And while it kills Felix on the inside to ask, you’re worth it)
I know, it’s irrational and not something one would expect from Felix. He’s not the type to go out of his way to help like this. If anything, people would assume that he’d push you to go make a life of your own or ignore your family and move on.
He does this because you’re the one in trouble, not anyone else. He wants you to focus on being your best self and knows bland words of encouragement won’t have anything beyond a temporary effect. Removing the source of the issue is the best solution and reaching out to his Father is a small price to pay for it.
Claude:
Claude handles the situation more from an observational standpoint in the beginning. He most likely can tell something is off with your home life long before you mention it. With the amount of time you both spend together he picked up on subtle hints easily. Shortly after your meeting he had also gathered information on your family, which sealed the deal.
Now he couldn’t just sit idly and watch you self-destruct. No, he needed to act somehow. Claude could never leave someone in such an unhealthy environment, let alone that person being his s/o. It’s just that family matters are a delicate situation that require as much tactical planning as the battlefield.
He also is aware that information brokers can only tell him so much. Claude needs to hear the full story from you yourself, and to get that is much harder than it looks.
So, he waits. Eventually you’ll mention something that he can inquire further about. His pressing may upset you, possibly start an argument, but Claude knows it’s necessary. He doesn’t want you to feel as if he’s manipulating your every move, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Your mental health is no joke.
Claude will listen to you with full attention. No jokes, snide comments, interjections, etc. He just lets you pour everything out and absorbs it.
Then comes the contradictions. Anything negative you have to say about yourself will be shut down immediately. He knows that emotional scars like these cannot be healed with flattery, but that’s not what his goal is. His aim is temporary relief to stimulate critical questioning
He wants you to choose what to do next. Amidst the compliments he’ll ask questions like “‘why do you agree with them?” and “What do you want to do?”. Suddenly multiple resources are at your disposal and you have a smooth-talking golden boi ready to fly you off into the sunset. It’s all up to you. He just assures that no matter what your family says or does, you have the choice to move on and a herd of deer backing you up

The Defender personality type is quite unique, as many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though sensitive, Defenders have excellent analytical abilities; though reserved, they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are generally a conservative type, Defenders are often receptive to change and new ideas. As with so many things, people with the Defender personality type are more than the sum of their parts, and it is the way they use these strengths that defines who they are.
Defender personalities are a wonderful group, rarely sitting idle while a worthy cause remains unfinished. Defenders’ ability to connect with others on an intimate level is unrivaled among Introverts, and the joy they experience in using those connections to maintain a supportive, happy family is a gift for everyone involved. They may never be truly comfortable in the spotlight, and may feel guilty taking due credit for team efforts, but if they can ensure that their efforts are recognized, Defenders are likely to feel a level of satisfaction in what they do that many other personality types can only dream of. [Dreamer] personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, [Dreamers] have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. The risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the [Dreamer] personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
Unlike their Extraverted cousins though, [Dreamers] will focus their attention on just a few people, a single worthy cause – spread too thinly, they’ll run out of energy, and even become dejected and overwhelmed by all the bad in the world that they can’t fix. This is a sad sight for [Dreamers’] friends, who will come to depend on their rosy outlook. (SOURCE description: 16 personalities)

[Artist] personalities are true artists, but not necessarily in the typical sense where they’re out painting happy little trees. Often enough though, they are perfectly capable of this. Rather, it’s that they use aesthetics, design and even their choices and actions to push the limits of social convention. [Artists] enjoy upsetting traditional expectations with experiments in beauty and behavior – chances are, they’ve expressed more than once the phrase “Don’t box me in!”
[Artists] are definitely Introverts, surprising their friends further when they step out of the spotlight to be by themselves to recharge. Just because they are alone though, doesn’t mean people with the [Artist] personality type sit idle – they take this time for introspection, assessing their principles. Rather than dwelling on the past or the future, Adventurers think about who they are. They return from their cloister, transformed.(SOURCE description: 16 personalities)

[Doers] always have an impact on their immediate surroundings – the best way to spot them at a party is to look for the whirling eddy of people flitting about them as they move from group to group. Laughing and entertaining with a blunt and earthy humor, [Doer] personalities love to be the center of attention. If an audience member is asked to come on stage, [Doers] volunteer – or volunteer a shy friend.
Theory, abstract concepts and plodding discussions about global issues and their implications don’t keep [Doers] interested for long. [Doers] keep their conversation energetic, with a good dose of intelligence, but they like to talk about what is – or better yet, to just go out and do it. [Doers] leap before they look, fixing their mistakes as they go, rather than sitting idle, preparing contingencies and escape clauses. (SOURCE description: 16 personalities)

Entertainers love the spotlight, and all the world’s a stage. Many famous people with the Entertainer personality type are indeed actors, but they love putting on a show for their friends too, chatting with a unique and earthy wit, soaking up attention and making every outing feel a bit like a party. Utterly social, Entertainers enjoy the simplest things, and there’s no greater joy for them than just having fun with a good group of friends.
Though it may not always seem like it, Entertainers know that it’s not all about them – they are observant, and very sensitive to others’ emotions. People with this personality type are often the first to help someone talk out a challenging problem, happily providing emotional support and practical advice. However, if the problem is about them, Entertainers are more likely to avoid a conflict altogether than to address it head-on. Entertainers usually love a little drama and passion, but not so much when they are the focus of the criticisms it can bring. (SOURCE description: 16 personalities)

The [Inspirer] personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. {Inspirers] are charming, independent, energetic and compassionate.
Luckily, [Inspirers] know how to relax, and they are perfectly capable of switching from a passionate, driven idealist in the workplace to that imaginative and enthusiastic free spirit on the dance floor, often with a suddenness that can surprise even their closest friends. Being in the mix also gives them a chance to connect emotionally with others, giving them cherished insight into what motivates their friends and colleagues. They believe that everyone should take the time to recognize and express their feelings, and their empathy and sociability make that a natural conversation topic. They may appear to drift about in an unending daydream, but [Thinkers’] thought process is unceasing, and their minds buzz with ideas from the moment they wake up. This constant thinking can have the effect of making them look pensive and detached, as they are often conducting full-fledged debates in their own heads, but really [Thinkers] are quite relaxed and friendly when they are with people they know, or who share their interests. However, this can be replaced by overwhelming shyness when [Thinker] personalities are among unfamiliar faces, and friendly banter can quickly become combative if they believe their logical conclusions or theories are being criticized.
The one thing that really holds [Thinkers] back is their restless and pervasive fear of failure. [Thinker] personalities are so prone to reassessing their own thoughts and theories, worrying that they’ve missed some critical piece of the puzzle, that they can stagnate, lost in an intangible world where their thoughts are never truly applied. Overcoming this self-doubt stands as the greatest challenge [Thinkers] are likely to face, but the intellectual gifts – big and small – bestowed on the world when they do makes it worth the fight. Friendly but very private, calm but suddenly spontaneous, extremely curious but unable to stay focused on formal studies, Virtuoso personalities can be a challenge to predict, even by their friends and loved ones. Virtuosos can seem very loyal and steady for a while, but they tend to build up a store of impulsive energy that explodes without warning, taking their interests in bold new directions.
Instead of being overly cautious though, avoiding stepping on toes in order to avoid having their toes stepped on, Virtuosos are likely to go too far, accepting likewise retaliation, good or bad, as fair play. The biggest issue Virtuosos are likely to face is that they often act too soon, taking for granted their permissive nature and assuming that others are the same. They’ll be the first to tell an insensitive joke, get overly involved in someone else’s project, roughhouse and play around, or suddenly change their plans because something more interesting came up.
