okay i ended up just rambling about firefly in general so this got REALLY long. my bad

well its pretty i like the colors. but i must be honest i really really want her in her armor like at least half of the time. ideally technique skill and ult will have her with the armor on… i am a fan of the dual swords she’s holding in the bg. i kind of wish her pose was different? come on girl you are a badass stellaron hunter. strike a pose. have some swag.

also i had been kind of hoping sam was her real name and firefly was just an alias cuz the kit 🥬 since like a year before the game was even released always had the character named sam. but honestly i do like her picking the name firefly for herself because she is so transgender if you think about it. all the stellaron hunters refer to her only as sam and with he/him and a decent amt of stuff uses they/them too but in the dream world where people can take any form she chooses to be a girl named firefly? despite being created/born for the sole purpose of being sam?

which also makes me wonder like, do the stellaron hunters not know thats armor.. or not know whos actually in it… can she not leave the armor irl or does she choose to hide herself? are they deliberately misleading people by referring to sam as male to hide firefly’s identity so she can more easily like be a double agent if necessary?? she says shes in an icy medical cabin irl, does the armor have some kind of self piloting mode or does she just have to stay in there when shes outside of it…

also i hope she actually has more sam-like personality aspects. like i hope shes actually someone who says shit about setting the seas ablaze and telling kafka not to play with her food and isnt just acting like that to play a role. please be a little fucked up?? please???? i need her to be kind of fucked up i dont want waifu bait i want cool armor warrior ok sorry. like she can still be niceys ofc but i hope her combat voicelines at least are kind of insane LOL

They make her loose all logic when thinking about pretty much at this point nonsensical crush and make everyone against her when faced against the worst lies. They also make her know less about her own heritage than a white boy. Overall just the writer's only caring about making their white boy look good and limited her character growth and potential

victim of both the crew's misogyny n racism she cannot have something genuinely good happen to her a rule of the show's bible is that marinette must always be the one to learn a lesson pretty much every character in this show could be submitted including the writers' favorite boy adrien but im submitting marinette specifically as shes literally the protagonist of the show n they cannot be fucking normal towards a 14 year old asian teenage girl theres a lot of shots that show off her ass for ~totally~ no reason (there was even like a screenshot where it compared her normal ladybug model to one of her kwami fusion models n the kwami model dont remember which one literally had a bigger ass like what the fuck) surely theres nothing weird about how she has the most obvious body paint suit among the girls had a comic where she was depicted as not having any clothes after she changes back from being ladybug (something invented entirely for that comic alone n has never been a problem otherwise) leaving her to having to wear a fucking cardboard box n one of the crew literally drawing her naked n the show's creator defending them (ive never seen the actual art but the creator defending them does imply that someone on the crew did do that) n thats not even getting into the writing im not gonna touch on the racism myself cause i dont fully remember all the moments n might get some details wrong but from my experience it was relatively easy to find fans of color talking about it anyway the writers on this show seem to have a personal fucking vendetta against teenage girls n especially teenage girls in love i know chloe's been submitted a lot n shes is only one of many victims of it if girls like the same guy they will get into cat fights n be mean as hell to eachother (marinette chloe n lila) while if guys like the same girl theyre allowed to be friends n it not really factor into their relationship (luka n adrien) they write marinette as being weird obsessive n stalkery towards adrien simply because shes a teenage girl with a crush n lack awareness that some of the stuff would be entirely reasonable for her to know cause yknow adrien is literally a celebrity just cause they think peak comedy is bad stuff happening to marinette when she tries to move on from her crush on adrien (something they literally wrote her to do) cause its only ever resulted in her getting humiliated they yanked her back after giving her an actually good love interest who respects her boundaries just god theres a fucking lot going on here n i dont think i even covered the worst of it

her parents are literally based off of the creator n an ex girlfriend of his (his tweet stating that is still up btw) so to me that adds like a whole nother layer to the way shes treated in the show cause he called marinette his virtual daughter

At first I was mixed about Lily's return but the more I think about the more it feels right.

Lily is cursed.

She is the woman in the comics that kills Lorie and her baby at the prison before snapping and killing the Governor.

She always follows people that in some twisted way remind her of her dad and in the end helps bring the end of whatever group she is apart of.

The Delta lost so many in Lily's attempt to get the kids all because of one she knew from so long ago. One from the first group she destroyed.

im gonna be honest when i say i ... really never understood all the hang ups people had about lily returning to fill the villain role for s4

like lily returning in s4 makes more sense to me than kenny returning in s2 im gonna be real with you all. lily was at worst left on the side of the road and at best had her own rv at least she wasnt left for dead in a walker infested alleyway. personally i was hoping for a christa return (because i dont want to admit she really died 💀 no body=no death) but lily made enough sense to me and i was excited by her reveal

clem knew lily at the beginning of the outbreak. before 8 years of it turned them into different people. clem isnt the scared little girl she used to be. shes grown up into an extremely capable fighter. and while lily at the beginning of the outbreak seemed like a tired woman trying to keep it together, but also felt the need to take charge and didnt like being questioned (who also cared too much about her awful father but we get more insight into that in s4), by s4 shes lost any shred of kindness she mightve had left. she was military before the outbreak and now given a position of power rules through fear and an iron fist (just like her father). but there are moments between her and clem where we can see just a Glimpse of that old lily ("we were family once..."). but all of that goes away once she realizes that clem is a genuine threat now. and lily recognizes that clem would be a perfect soldier if she can just break her the way she herself was broken so long ago. and if she cant break clem then she'll break aj instead

and then we have the lee element. lily is the Only other person left from that first group at the motel (she did not destroy that group btw ben did like cmon now and ben Keeps destroying it after lily isnt even around anymore). and while shes wrong to say she knew lee better than clem ever did, lee and lily (and kenny) were group leaders together while clem was eating her apple and coloring with chalk. like the adults were speaking. and depending on how you played s1 lee could have a decent relationship with lily. lily being able to sow those seeds of doubt in s4 clems head is just fun mind games

they have History. clem still wears the hair ties lily gave her all the way back in s1. she helped take care of clem for a time. looked out for her. and in a different universe clem Easily couldve ended up standing in minnies shoes instead

also in regards to the delta we Know they dont really want to be kidnapping kids to fight in a war that would probably kill most of them in the first 5 minutes. if they had the adults to be fighting instead they would be. it just shows us how dire the deltas situation really is. they were just expecting to find a bunch of kids for easy picking but clem turned them all into skilled enough fighters to successfully kill a few of them and raid their boat. clem is a big enough win that it doesnt even matter how skilled the rest of the kids are. plus lily was just leading the excursion. we dont know how high up the ladder she really was and how much power she really held. maybe she had something to prove back at the delta (my one real gripe is that we didnt get to actually See the delta. in my perfect world there were 5 episodes and ep 4 was about the delta 😔)

both lily and clem are just trying to save their communities. the difference is lily wants to uphold the status quo of fear and force and war, and clem is trying to build a safe community thats different from the many shes seen. she and the rest of the kids just want to carve out their own little safe haven in this dangerous and unforgiving world. they make a place truly worth fighting for

clem getting some form of closure with lily i feel might get to help her close the book so to speak on her history up until this point. clem has been fighting for so long... but she has a new home now. a new community. she can Chill a little bit. shes gonna grow into such an incredible leader 😭 (not that she isnt already 😭)

like in some cases, i'm willing to brush it off as ignorance or stupidity. mostly in the cases of a lot of people who haven't really looked into anything themselves and therefore have a pretty damn biased view of the situation. still not great, especially considering the severity of the allegations (like, i'm sorry but false allegations irl and in content creator spheres have literally ruined people's lives before they are far from victimless???? we have documented evidence of this happening????) but at the very least it's more believably from a place of genuinely not knowing (though it's not like they're trying to know either)

that being said, a lot of the loudest of the group, the avid drantis who won't shut their mouths about him and have decent followings on whatever platform they frequent and have established themselves as a sort of moral authority on the situation? whether it's on twitter or that collection of former dsmpblr big blogs, i'm sorry but nah. these people aren't approaching the issue from a place of ignorance. these people know exactly what they're talking about; they just don't give a damn. they've proved thoroughly that more than they care about advocating for literally anyone, they need to preserve their goddamn reputations. these same blogs repeatedly invoking dream in this scenario despite his having nothing to do with it (because obviously they dropped dream, so they're good people. or obviously the content creators Showed Their True Colors when they didn't immediately denounce dream. or dream made it clear that this community isn't safe from bad, manipulative men emphasis on the MEN!!! or what have you) often literally just so they can pat themselves on the back - scrambling over each other in order to see who gets to stand on the highest soapbox to preach? like.

it's one thing for people to just dislike dream, or to have dropped him during the allegations. i don't bear ill will for those things alone - when the allegations dropped, in the time when we were waiting for a clear final response, i don't blame anyone for choosing the paths that best suited their comfort levels. we all looked at what we had and made our own individual decisions. but it's not february 2023 - now, a full year later, seeing these people literally continue to treat the allegations in the exact same way? speaking about how dream was revealed to be abusive! we should have known better! ccs didn't act then of course they won't act now the entire collection of dsmp men are raging misogynists at best and literally all abusive at worst !!! yeah, fuck off.

there were two claims in all of this of dream being involved with underage individuals - anastasia was literally over 18??? of the two, one story was spread without her consent (as is confirmed not only by her literally asking to be left alone at the start of this, but also by dream and the informant of the burner, who said that she thought the burner would get in contact with the person at hand, directly implying that they never did) and all parties directly involved have stated that no grooming occurred, with retractions taking place on every level. the informant corroborated the statement dream gave for the alleged victim in his video independently after being thrown under the bus by the burner account, and even the other person involved in all of this who was literally hating on dream the entire time on her own twitter corroborated his claims as well. continuing to spread these claims is a kick in the face to the literal person people claim to be trying to protect by championing her as a poor victim and shoving her name and account everywhere when she didn't ask for any of this - believe victims, until the victim is telling you to shut the fuck up after her account was propped up for the entire internet to ogle at without her consent and multiple people dug into her information without asking her supposedly "for her sake". the second story, the original allegations made against dream in 2022, has had multiple people who knew this woman personally (and included picture proof to show that they did) come out independently and say that she's a liar. on top of this, allegations against the accuser have come out (with a whole lot more proof of manipulation than was ever present in the case with her accusations against dream!) and been corroborated by, again, someone who knows the accuser personally, and these allegations have included the fact that certain elements of the original allegations against dream were faked, something that supports what dream said in his video, on top of the other proof provided. but you know, believe victims - not that one, though, or that one. and everyone knows that if you're falsely accused of a crime, then you're not a victim. obviously.

time and time again these people have not only shown that the only victims they're at all willing to listen to are the ones convenient to their story (and the ones that aren't get to be shouted over, ignored, and twisted for use in their own agendas) but they've also repeatedly twisted information to best fit their personal narratives. these people have skin in the game, you know? they didn't exactly approach the situation with dream quietly. they have staked a lot on dream's guilt, including their own personal moral soundness - they've spent over a year of their lives assuring themselves that they're not like the dirty dream stans, they took the allegations Seriously and have denounced a Dangerous Bad Man. the existence of other victims challenges that story, and so they can't acknowledge their existence at all. maybe i'd be less bothered if these weren't the same people who seem so fucking devoted to their being perceived as Authorities On Abuse, who have championed themselves as protectors of the hurt and downtrodden, who go on and on and on about how they take these things with utter seriousness and how much victims matter to them - only to let their internal biases and sheer self-righteousness prompt them to ignore any "victim" that doesn't suit their favored narrative. god forbid these people admit that they were wrong! god forbid they admit that they spent a year of their life in their circles preaching hellfire and brimstone against an innocent man, god forbid they admit that they've harassed people out the door of their circles and been proud of their efforts based on falsified information, god forbid they spend a damn inkling of their time reflecting on their own hypocrisy.

Hey i just want to tell you something about the fashion designer of hotd Jany Temime, since i think you one few people who notice how she cherry picking the characters in the series, because i knew about her when she was in Harry Potters movie, she never had experience before about "Medieval fantasy Clothing" so yeah that's why she's sucks.

all the dress (everybody wearing dress with princess stich?, no undergarment etc looks like cheap modern dress) this include her favorite (Alicent) didnt looks like from medieval fantasy world, the characters didnt actually dress like they describe, how on earth Alicent who is more religious than Rhaenyra keep wearing revealing clothes?, and Rhaenyra? OMG she wearing those ugly dress while in the book George seems more care how Rhaenyra would dress than Alicent even describe her loves silk, velvet and "richly dress" and NOTHING FOR ALICENT except her GREEN DRESS (and green isnt even her house colors lol) while Rhaenyra at same time wearing "DRAMATIC BLACK AND RED DRESS" and i search it was Jany Temime? Yeah, honestly, I think the costume and hair department of this show are not even worthy of Reign. Even Reign had prettier dresses and they had an excuse called tiny budget. Are you telling me that a show that is wasting millions and millions of dollars can't get a proper costume designer?

And of course, fans of the show don't care, because now they are in the Supreme Sunk Cost Falacy Corner™, where their new excuse for the utter laziness of this production is that is just a show, so we have to just turn off our brains and enjoy. Because turning off your brains is the only way you can enjoy this shit, I guess, since the flaws are so fucking glaring on literally everything.

You know what is hilarious? It's that there are plenty medieval movies that made a lot better costumes than the monstrosities this woman has 'designed'. They could have rented those dresses and modify them, so at the least they had a change for their fucking lead actors. You know, Matt and Emma? The lead actors that repeat the same two clothes a million times while Co/oke has like six changes of different green dresses?

And don't get me started with the men's clothes. You would think if that if you had a bunch of fit, handsome men you would know how to dress them in decent clothes but nah, let's use literally the same clothes during the whole of a season.

The favouritism and transphobia is just so glaring in this production. Like, once again these people get head over their heels for a conventionally attractive actress whose skills are meh at best and has the worst written character of the whole cast and treat her as if she is the new Cate Blachett.

Like, I might not agree with Emma's views on Rhaenyra but they are the protagonist of this story and they deserve to be viewed as such. They deserve the proper clothes that actually fits them and not ugly sacks of potatos. It doesn't matter what they dress or how they present themselves in real life. They are playing a fucking queen and they should look the fucking part, dammit.

This kind of thing of taking focus away from the actual protagonist because the showrunners think an actor is pretty is one of the things I find more annoying about English speaking media because it ruins the whole story. Because they have their illusion that Alicent should be the victim since they imaged this conventionally attractive, doll-face actress (since they said they wanted her as Alicent since the beginning despite her being the wrong age, they didn't even try to keep with canon, didn't even think about canon) crying with big doe eyes then they shat on the whole theme of the story, on the role of the character itself as an antagonist and now Alicent is precisely what they imagined in the first place: a crying doll that literally just exist to be pretty and sad and has no bearing in the plot whatsoever because they took that from her.

Honestly, I don't know who could waste their time defending this show when it reeks of such laziness and stupidity. It's literally just the last seasons of GOT all over again but even more lazy and with better actors to keep it afloat.

there's this online recreation of the sans fight that i played religiously back in middle school before i even owned a device capable of running undertale, still up. i got good enough at it that under normal circumstances, i can usually do it first try. a bit of a banging my head against a brick wall thing, but damn did it eventually break. honestly i think doing that before ever actually playing undertale was a bit like goku training in 100x gravity, except instead of landing on namek to fight frieza he went and fought raditz again and just absolutely wrecked his shit. at least, until i got to undyne, still not great at her. god i love her. adhd, getting distracted, i had a goddamn point i was trying to make. so, notice that i said "under normal circumstances" as a caveat. what i would consider not normal circumstances would be, say, playing with fucked up arrow keys. such as, the ones that seem to be on every goddamn modern laptop where up and down are both collectively taking up the same amount of real estate as a single normal key, because apparently right shift needs that extra fucking space. like seriously who the fuck even uses right shift, top 10 useless keys right there, right next to caps lock and most of the function keys. guess i've just gotta suck it up until i can afford to get an actual gamer laptop and not a budget office clunker that i got for the admittedly nice CPU

honestly like, i think my ideal laptop would be halfway between the Ultra Gucci Gamer shit and what i have now. give me like, 16 gigs of RAM, a decent CPU for emulation, a low end but modern and power efficient discrete GPU, and a big fuckin SSD. no RGB shit, just a power waste, though i do like having backlit keys at times i think the more efficient way to go about it would just paint em with something glow in the dark. is glowstick fluid toxic to get your hands on? i remember hearing about a guy who died because he injected that shit at a rave, but i don't know how much of that is This Shit Is Poison vs Dont Put Things That Arent Blood In Your Blood Sacks You Moron, y'know. for some reason radium popped into my head, but after thinking about it for more than an instant i'm like 85% sure that shit's what done killed marie curie, and now i can't help but imagine that's something elon musk would tell his engineers to do. anyways yeah like. the only other specs i can think of would be just having as many ports as possible, 1080p screen @ 60hz, y'know the bare minimum in Current Year. i will say that my current laptop has given me problems with screens i've never had on a computer before, there have been times where i see something i know for a fact is a different, more saturated color on other screens and having it be barely different from the background. also? i want that motherfucker bulky god dammit, i'm tired of everything being thin and light and having absolute dogshit battery life. i miss when i could charge my gameboy once a week and have it entertain me the entire goddamn time, y'know. i'm lucky if i get half a day of consistent use out of a laptop or my switch without charging it, y'know. to be honest, you should be able to murder someone with your technology. i could kill a man with a gamecube or the PC my dad left me as a kid, if i tried to bash a man's skull open with my laptop the laptop would take more damage than the skull. like don't get me wrong, it'd fucking hurt, but i'm not sure there's any singular component in this thing less than 95% cheap polymer by volume. a goddamn disgrace, lemme tells ya. back in ancient rome we had the technology to build bridges strong enough to still be used today, there are guns from the world wars that you can shoot to this day, you're tellin me you can't make a laptop sturdier than a saltine cracker? well, i'm pretty sure they're mostly designed by crackers, so i guess i can't blame em too hard for their inadequacies. such is lief i suppose (sic)

Tier list based off character design, explanations below

Awesome, no notes: Most of these characters are in a "if it aint broke dont fix it" category. I think they have really good silhouettes and color schemes- and overall have marks of an appealing design. If i had to change anything about these characters, the changes would be pretty minor and barely any different from their canon counterpart.

Decent, minor complaints: Any issue I have with these designs is just personal choices I wouldn't have made if I were designing this character from the ground up, but none of them are a sin against god or anything. They still have way more pros than cons imo.

Okay, some nickpicks: A lot of things I would change about them. I still hate how they slim Valerie down in her hunter suit, Desiree reeks of Orientalism, Paulina- I dont remember why shes here actually- I think its her outfit I dont vibe with? And being one of many characters of color with blue/green eyes. And Ember is a whole can of worms.

Okay, run of the mill: Too plain to really complain about. They are fine enough and serve their purpose.

Not my favorite: Sam has "40 year old men who have never seen a goth girl irl before" syndrome. and the GIW are forgettable.

Objectively bad: Again, another can of worms that would need an entire visual overhaul

I think my most nickpicy complaint that spreads all across these tiers are 1. the overuse of green for characters who are already in a dominantly green environment and 2. the sexualization of the young girl characters. I know it was the 2000s but not everyone 12-14 were wearing crop tops cmon.

I tend to gravitate more towards the ghosts who aren't as green because it helps them stand out far more. I also dont mind green as a minor accent color- im not a green hater but theres only so much of one color I can tolerate in a design.

for those who are new to my music, my artist name is alls :] i run this blog and a few others!!

shortened review/tl;dr:

alls is an indie rock indie romance singer/songwriter project by a girl called charlotte. alls has released a debut ep, a debut album (if you count those as different things), and a single from her upcoming, currently confusing release. she’s inspired by arctic monkeys, lovejoy, los campesinos!, crywank, james marriott, and many others and she hopes you enjoy her silly songs<3

she had originally intended to release a 10 track album before she even knew how to record anything and it would’ve been called “oh yeah show me off” which is a title that may still be used by her SO DONT STEAL IT!!

her first official releases were one-take phone recordings and were songs called “bubble gum lip balm heartbreak”, “goodbye to us!”, and “how embarrassing! they’ve seen your true colors!”. only two of these has since been actually released.

i’m changing to first person because writing in third is weird-

“i could be elsewhere” is a song about many things. it’s a song about my honesty, it’s a song about not knowing where/who you are in comparison to another person, it’s a song about not making a huge deal about things that should be a huge deal, and by most standards, it’s a song. it is a lead-guitar, solo infused, infuriatingly decent quality song that is one of my proudest projects. butttt i have recently come into a bit of indifference toward my recent songs that i hope to get over but if not, i’ll be releasing them all on youtube and bandcamp, maybe spotify, and moving on to different projects

attached to this post is an mp3 single of “what more could you ask for?”. it is probably my best representation on where my music is going next and is most accurate to my current sound. it’s a punky song about despising friends, but not enough to cut them out or to say anything to them at all. it’s also a song about being a bad person to someone in your past but justifying it in your own head because they were bad to you (or is that true at all?)

Second part

That night Bowser made an attempt to comb his spinkey red hair, and put on a decent shirt and pants. His children took note of it first, five of them already at the table when he arrived.

"Woah dad." Roy said as the King took a seat.

"Is all that for Mama?"

"Yes." The King said, "I want her to see that I'm trying."

"She knows you are dad." Ludwig said, "But to be honest I think she's hear for us more than you, Iggy said that she hasnt gotten one of our letters and you shouldve seen the way she lit up when Jr woke her up."

Bowser sighed and rubbed his temples.

"Where's Wendy and Morton?"

"Getting ready with Mama." Lemmy said, "Wendy said that she wanted her and Mama to match tonight."

Bowser tried (and failed) to hold back his smile. Then the doors opened and he stood ready to fight but he relaxed as soon as he saw who it was.

Wendy and Peach were both were pink and white dresses, Wendy's was a pink dress with white spots while Peach wore a pink dress with white in between the ruffles of the dress so that the dress changed when she moved, but it wasnt just the color that surprised him. Peachs' dress was also sleeveless with a sweetheart neckline.

Morton came in behind them wearing a brown skirt and a black shirt with an electric guitar on the front.

"Mama said this was ok to wear." Morton said.

"NO FAIR! Lemmy whined, he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. "I wanted to wear a skirt.."

"Why didn't you?" Peach asked, "I'm sure you wouldve looked lovely."

"Dad I couldnt wear it."

"Lemmy," Bowaer sighed. "Your skirt is singed and has more holes than skirt and since you refuse to throw it out I'm not getting a new one until you do."

Peach giggled and got the other two children seated, she went to sit but Bowser pulled out her chair for her.

With a blush Peach sat down thanking him.

Dinner was served steak and mushrooms with wine for the two adults.

"So," Bowser Jr. Said. "How come you too dont sleep in the same bed?"

Peach coughed into her napkin and Bowser spat his drink all over the table, Mort thinking this was funny did it as well, the two adults were too stunned by the question to react.

"Well," Peach said coughing. "Only married couples do that."

Bowser nodded

"Well then get married." Jr said as if the answer was obvious.

"Well the thing is," Peach said "Your dad and I.."

Seven little eyes looked at her waiting for the answer, but Princess Peach unable to disappoint the children sighed.

"Have royal things to work our before we can think about marriage."

"Like what?" Jr asked.

"Adult things." Bowser said, "now finish your food."

"But I wanna know too!" Wendy piped up

"Yeah!" Morton and Lemmy piped up.

"If you finish your food I'll tell you all the details about marriage between two countries." Peach promised.

She looked over ar Boweser for approval who was suppressing his smile, the boring details were always enough to make anyone fall asleep (even Peach).

When dinner was finished Peach walked with Bowser to the children's rooms.

"So.." Bowser said nervously, "have you thought about it?"

"Hm?"

"Marriage." Bowser said, "Your kingdom is prosperous enough as it is and you have no real need to marry for power so you're free for love."

Peach flushed and kept her eyes forward.

"If this is a way of asking me to marry you-"

"No!" Bowser said quickly. "I meant just in general, I'm sure Mario's made his intentions known."

"No," Peach said, "We've never actually been on a date, and Luigi, sweet as he is, is planning on courting Daisy."

Bowser gave Peach a squinted stare.

"What?" She said noticing his glare.

"That's such a lie."

"And you have evidence of this?"

"Mario rescues you every time I come get you! I thought maybe you were both of the brothers one time but when it was only Mario I knew it had to be him."

"Mario likes adventure and I'm his friend, saving his friend fits right into what he likes."

"Oh please!" Bowser scoffed "I'm not stupid."

"No," Peach stated, "Just stubborn."

"Stubborn?!" Bowser growled out. "I'm no such thing."

Peach held in her laughter for only a few moments before it came out in glorious waves, at first Bowser was stunned but the infectious sound got to him and he began to chuckle as well.

since ive been too College to have enough art for any sort of summary im just gonna put a general year end rundown of what i feel i did best on this year!!

i think every year since i figured out that i dont need to use pens to line has just gotten better art wise for me. FUCK lining. pencils are my best friends forever and ever and can do your job better than you ever could. anyway apologies for some of these drawings being crunchier than others, i only recently got a scanner and Cannot be assed to scan my old art for this post rn.

this one was a trade for my friend raicatty and. also something i probably should have scanned. but its fine. anyway this one did teach me something and its To Line Your Damn Pieces Darker. lining with the color that youre going to be coloring in is kind of Asking For Disaster if it overlaps with others and u can. see that. this is a bit imparseable. but its also pretty. and thats all that really matters. a fun fact for when i ever do commissions is that being allowed to use this purpley pink pencil i have will make me really happy. its so pretty.

things i learned from this one! 1. the scanner did not pick up the red lines very well! 2. scanners are good! 3: NEVER do a full page project again! buuut i do want to say i am like. insanely proud of this one. its the first art ive done i can really say has any sort of Composition and im so delighted that it turned out just as cool as it looked in my head. also this took forever and i could have easily messed it up Multiple times in the process. so god bless.

amy I finally listened to the album and I need to know how you feel about the lack of 70s vibes? Or if you think it actually fits the 70s theme, because I dont think it does but i'm also not the best at picking up what makes a song from a certain genre/a certain era aside from, like, the blatant elements

Having sat with the album and the aesthetics for a bit now I can say that I peeersonally think the photoshoot decently fits the vibe of the album. The focus on moodiness and chunky glitter and "I got home from the party stoned" vibes are the kicker here. Plus: The use of Helvetica manages to further highlight the 2010s party vibe. She still threw us a curveball with the sad singer songwriter vibes, especially because soo many of us have wanted a 1970s-style album from her for so long and musically, Midnights doesn't fullfill that vision. I think there is a point to be made about the 1970s simply being very in right now (or having been in for a while) and generally being associated with drugs and moodiness and whatnot so I guess that's where Taylor came from here. And for all her use of 70s fashion and colors and interior, she is not fully commited to the bit, as we see from the CGI-heavy and generally modern looking snippets of the music videos (this is not meant as a snide remark but it's just an observation).
