Watching The Fall of Sam Axe before even seeing Burn Notice (*cough* like I did) is so funny bc at first Sam just seems like your typical macho hero Bruce Campbell character who drinks a lot and gets the girl and says stuff that makes you roll your eyes (affectionately) like "I know you want to kiss me" okay yeah yeah sure whatever.

But then you watch all of Burn Notice and it's like ...oh. OH. He's all of that, sure but he's also SO much MORE. Like he's smart. He's the biggest sweetheart ever. He cares about his friends so much! He would and DOES do ANYTHING for the people he cares about. He's a slut with a heart of gold!

So then you watch the Fall of Sam Axe again and it's like YEAH I ACTUALLY FUCKIN DO WANT TO KISS YOU RN SAM I WOULD FUCKIN DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. YOU ARE EVERYTHING TO ME.

Zach is this guy she's #known for a while (like they make a point of *telling us* in one of the earliest scenes that Zach feels weird talking about her in the #detached way they may talk abt other people in their grade they barely know—because it's *different* since he and Josh *actually know her* #plus in the script [and it STILL COUNTS TO ME because she *starts* saying the line but just gets cut off by Dennis] Allison brings #up Zach & Josh having had a silly handshake since 7th grade ['oh god that used to make me pee!' <- girl why would u say that to him] #so it's like... these are kids who've known each other for years!) and he's got this obvious fucking crush on her (the hallway scene where #he is. blatantly staring and she catches him for a second) and the moment she decides to actually start pursuing him because SHE'S #got a crush on HIM too... he starts pulling away and acting erratic and sending her the most mixed signals in the fucking world. #and sheee THINKSSS ITS HERRR FAULT!!!!!!!! like. listen. this scene i giffed above? this is what she's fucking talking about later #when she jokes about not wanting to 'scare him off again'. like sure she says it like a joke but... uhm. i simply think there's #a certain amount of truth to it too—because he DID leave the party visibly freaked out! and i think it'd be perfectly believable for her #to think that it was at least partially HER pushing too hard that was causing him to withdraw/pull away from her. plus she blatantly says #she thinks she's the reason Josh & Zach are fighting. like. this poor girl is on the outskirts of a tragedy she'll probably NEVER know the #details of but she's seeing firsthand the impact it's having on Zach and... blaming herself... that's so fucking heartbreaking

So I just finished the third season for the first time last night (I know, I know, I have no excuse for holding off this long) and I have. Some thoughts. Spoilers, obviously.

First of all, it really wasn’t as bad as I was expecting from the way people talk about it, but I have my issues I wanna talk about.

Allison. They took all the parts of Victor I hated in season one and shoved them onto her in this season. Now don’t get me wrong, at first I was excited to see her get her much-deserved snap after all the trauma she’s endured but… They did it so wrong. I see no point mentioning the Luther scene as I’m sure we all share the same opinion on how that was a terrible mishandling of her but the thing that gets me is the fact that she made a deal with Reggie, and when that deal led to the death of Luther and Klaus, she still didn’t back out until she herself was injured. What??? Like, no, as soon as Luther died, that should have been the point that the Allison I know would have been like “ok, nvm, losing more people isn’t worth this”. But whatever,,,

Also, the romance with Luther and Sloane was so rushed and forced, Don’t get me wrong, I honestly thought they were cute together and Luther deserves to move on from the incest… even though this isn’t much better… but jesus. Also, did it have to be another alternate sibling of his? Really??? They couldn’t have given him a love interest that didn’t share a father with him? Its better than Allison who he literally grew up with and refers to as his sister, but this woman is also basically his sister. And they got married after like five-ish days of knowing each other, chill.

I haven’t decided how I feel about Lila and Diego’s kid yet. I don’t like pregnancy arcs but I wouldn’t mind seeing those two happy and settled for once in their damn lives. I dunno. I am neutral so far.

Five was deffo chiller in this season, people are right about that one. He had his moments of course, but I was sort of surprised by how much of a back burner they put him on this season. He’s typically they’re main blorbo. I didn’t really have any issues with him or anything, just wished he had more to do.

Well…

There is one issue.

The last episode ended with them all losing their powers, which included Luther no longer being part ape. This is fine and I think it will lead to some interesting plot next season, but why is Five still a child? I think they could justify it in some senses, but if you ask me, he should have either reverted back to being in his fifties, or he should have finally been in his thirties with the rest of his siblings. I’m sure they just didn’t want anyone but Aidan to play him (rightfully so) but Aidan is 20 now, they could have pulled something off. It’s not like they’re trying to make an actual 13 year old appear to be in his 30 or something.

If they’re keeping him as a kid, though, I want to see that have an effect. I want to see him regress and slowly start becoming more and more of an actual teenager. (In all honesty, could just be me, but it kinda feels like that’s been happening a little bit anyhow.) Also I saw another post talking about him being in school dealing with people who are actually teenagers and I really think that would be so funny, please make the state force him to attend public high school.

This has been my random thoughts after finishing the season, if you disagree with me, that’s totally fine, they’re more just the thoughts I had late at night after being sick kept me up. Looking forward to the new season. It got confirmed to come out next year, although we still have no idea when.

SPOILERS FOR TUA S3 & MY PERSONAL OPINIONS (very long lmao)

as much as i love the latest season of tua, i am kinda disappointed that majority of the sparrows (aside from ben & sloane) are all killed off halfway through the season seeing as such a big deal was made out of them all

i was interested in seeing alphonso & jayme and how their powers worked but they got killed too soon?? and don't even get me started on marcus,, poor baby :'(

that was probably the biggest negative to this season seeing as all the insta, for example, was creating so much cool promo for them just to see most dead by episode 5

however, this season still pulled through amazingly, starting with the beautiful family bonding!! like luther n klaus, luther n viktor, allison n diego, five n klaus, klaus n sparrow!ben (although they were drunk), plus adding lila into that mix just creates such beautiful moments with each of the characters

also, luther finally finds happiness with sloane!!!! those two are so cute together, and the big guy gets his family moments with everyone and he just deserves everything <3

another major thing is klaus improving his powers and it was revealed he actually died early on as a kid as part of training. im on the fence whether im happy for this development bc of the way reggie trained him,,, idk

and holy shit allison was all over the place this season,, i understand her frustration at viktor but idk,, all i do know is that she was so unhinged this season but im kinda digging the haircut she gave herself, fed into the badass 'i don't give a single fuck anymore' vibe lol

Okay, if you are looking for a new show with the vibes of GBBO and Great Pottery Throw Down, I highly recommend The Big Brunch on HBO Max. Dan Levy is the non-chef host/judge, also featuring Sohla El-Waylly and Will Guidara (I'm sure if you follow food he's someone?? I keep recommending it as the Dan Levy and Sohla show and then feeling guilty because he's also very nice) as the chef judges.

All 8 episodes of the season are out. It's very heartwarming and wholesome!

Okay but how would a meeting between the entire Hawkins Party and the Umbrella Academy go?

In my imagination its just one big therapy session for the tons of trauma they've all been through.

But I can see especially the older kids from Hawkins have some real deep talks with some of the umbrella adults. In particular I think about Steve, Eddie and Nancy having a deeper conversation with Luther, Klaus and Allisson respectively.

Lowkey kinda pissed off/stressed out bc my mom just called me and told me my dad has covid-- they're on vacation in FL so like love 'em but kinda not surprised 👀. Anyway so they were supposed to come home Thurs and watch my sister's dog on Friday bc she and her BF have a wedding to go to and it's like near where my parent's house is. Obviously my mom and dad are gonna be stuck in FL until at least Saturday now (he can't get on the plane until he tests negative) so I was like oh well I can watch the dog again bc I don't have anything to do and I love him and obviously like that's my sister like we help each other out.

So the part where I'm pissed is -- I tell my BF this and he's like wait this Friday? And I was like yeah. And then he goes oh but what about the hockey game? Fam...this a raffle he entered for a preseason game through work. And like yeah he'll probably win bc we literally always win the hockey raffles they do, BUT like we technically don't even HAVE the tickets yet. Like bro noah fence but who the fuck CARES like yeah it sucks I won't be able to go (if he even WINS the tickets) but idk go by yourself like figure it out take one of our friends like don't give me a hard time bc something came up and I can't go to a PRESEASON GAME we didn't even SPEND MONEY ON or even HAVE THE TICKETS FOR YET.
