Your little family grows
You had always wanted to start a family, it was a dream of yours since you were old enough to understand. This dream only heightened after you met the love of your life.
You and Alexia met at a club in Ibiza, the Spanish girl knocking your drink all over you as she tried to make her way through the crowd.
With a million apologies and an offer to buy you another, the both of you ended up staying with each other the whole night.
It’s been a few years since that first encounter and you and Alexia have had a successful and extremely happy relationship. It was tricky bringing up kids with her career, you didn’t want to scare her away but you had always believed that communication was key in a relationship.
After she came home from one of her many training sessions you decided to bite the bullet, to your surprise Alexia had already assumed the two of you were going to be having kids stating that she has always wanted one or two of her own.
She proposed a few months after that conversation and you now have been happily married for two years. You had been trying to get pregnant for a few months now, excitement was quickly being replaced with frustration at the many failed attempts.
Things haven’t been easy since Alexia’s injury, after months of arguing it seemed like things were finally settling down as Alexia learned to accept her injury and started to focus more on her family.
That’s how you find yourself here, patiently waiting for Alexia to get back from her physio appointment. You have to stop yourself from pacing a hole through the kitchen as the excitement bubbles up inside you.
Alexia should be home any minute, you hope that the appointment went well, knowing how any set back could put your persistent wife in a grumpy mood.
You don’t even hear the keys in the door as your mind races with endless thoughts. “Hola, hermosa.” A tired voice startles you out of your head as Alexia makes her way over to the fridge.
“How was your appointment?” You ask, not being able to tell how your wife was feeling, You watch as the midfielder shrugs her shoulders, “El mismo de siempre (Same old, same old).”
She slightly limps over to where you are nervously standing and leaves a sweet kiss to your forehead frowning once she sees your shaking hands.
“What’s wrong, Mi amor?” Alexia grabs your hands as she looks down at you with worried eyes. Not wanting your wife getting too worried you grab the test from your back pocket slowly handing it to Alexia.
Alexia stares at the test while you wait in anticipation, “Is this real?” She asks in awe at the test in her hand, “No.” you smile as tears make their way down your face.
She scoffs at your obvious sarcasm before looking back down at the test as if it will suddenly vanish. You watch your normally inexpressive wife tear up before she suddenly lifts you up, “Ay dios mio!”
You laugh as Alexia spins you around before remembering her injury, “Alexia, your knee!” You quickly try to get out of her grasp as she holds you even tighter, “I don’t care! We are having a baby!”
You wrap your arms around her broad shoulders as she finally places you back down. Before you can say anything else she’s pulling you into a deep kiss, hoping the kiss conveys all the emotions she’s feeling.
You gently push her away quickly cupping her face as you wipe away the lingering tears. She presses her forehead against yours as her hands creep under your shirt pressing softly against your stomach, “Te amo mucho.”
The first trimester was the worst, you never thought you’d be grateful for your wife’s injury but having her there through your morning sickness was everything you could have asked for.
Countless mornings of waking up and getting sick had started taking a toll on your body. Without fail she would be there holding your hair and placing a soothing hand on your back while whispering how much she loves you.
One particularly bad morning had you running for the bathroom at an ungodly hour, you didn’t expect Alexia to hear you as her medication for her knee normally knocked her out.
So it’s not really your fault when you startle from a touch on your back, “Lo siento (sorry),”you immediately relax after feeling her familiar hands running down your back soothingly, before you can respond the pain in your stomach intensifies as you shove your head back into the toilet bowl.
You hear Alexia wince as you empty the contents of your stomach, you go to slap her shoulder before giving up and slumping against her steady figure.
She brushes your sweaty hair out of your eyes as she pulls you closer, almost cradling you to her chest, “You did this to me.” You playfully accuse as she kisses your cheek while laughing softly.
“Técnicamente (Technically) it was an injection.” She trails off as you throw a glare her way, “Don’t be smart with me while I’m carrying your child.” You argue back fondly as you cuddle closer to her.
She holds you on the bathroom floor trying to provide as much comfort as she can while you’re feeling miserable. Although she knows you're in pain she can’t help but smile knowing that she’s one step closer to meeting your baby.
The second trimester was a lot more exciting for you and Alexia, the morning sickness was gone and you were starting to show.
Although you enjoyed the intimacy of being private with your pregnancy you both knew that people would notice that you’ve gained weight, especially with Alexia’s expected return in the upcoming weeks.
You decided to invite Eli and Alba over for dinner so you could tell them together, you knew that Alba would freak if she wasn’t the first to know.
You are currently running around the kitchen trying to make sure that nothing burns as Alexia unhelpfully watches from where she’s sitting at the counter.
“Do you wanna help?” Alexia pretends to think about it for a moment as you expectantly stare at her, “mhm, not really.” You roll your eyes fondly at your wife as she chuckles before getting up and setting the table.
You can’t help the smile that lights up your face when you feel her hands softly hold your stomach as she brushes her lips across your neck. You lean your head back against her shoulder as she gently sways the both of you to the music coming from the radio.
“Eres tan perfecta (You are so perfect),” You kiss her cheek at her melting comment, she knows you have been struggling accepting the weight that the pregnancy brings on.
She promised herself that she would never let you forget how beautiful you are after catching you staring unhappily at yourself in the mirror.
“I have stretch marks now,” You answered when she asked you what the matter was. She cupped your cheeks softly before kissing every inch of your face, “And they look so beautiful on you, Cariño.” She said, kissing you with every word.
And she hasn’t failed on that promise, it felt like every second of the day she reminded you just how gorgeous you were and how she couldn’t be more grateful to you.
A knock on the door brought Alexia out of her daydream as she left you with another kiss to the temple. Opening the door she was greeted with her sister's smiling face, “Hola, hermana! Ha sido tan largo (It’s been too long).” Alexia relished in her younger sister's arms before gratefully accepting the bottle of your favourite wine.
“Te hablé ayer (I spoke to you yesterday).” Alexia spoke while Alba rolled her eyes at her sister, “No quise decir que eres estúpido, me refiero a tu increíble esposa (I didn’t mean you stupid, I was referring to your amazing wife).”
Turning the stove off, you rushed to hug your sister in law who you have always been close with. “Mi chica, you are glowing.” You blushed as Alba kissed both your cheeks, you caught you wife’s eye over her sisters shoulder smiling at Alexia’s pure joy at the prospect of telling her family.
“¿Donde esta mama?” Alexia asks as she peers out the door, “Estoy aquí, Mi hija! (I’m right here, my daughter)”
You watch as Eli wraps her arms around her eldest daughter kissing her head as she does so, “Ahora, ¿Dónde está esa hermosa chica mía? (Now where is that gorgeous girl of mine.)”
You greet your mother in law as she quickly thrusts flowers into your hands and you thank her as you lead them to the kitchen.
After you all had finished eating you knew it was time to tell them, you were slightly nervous not at the thought of them not supporting it but of breaking your bubble that you and Alexia had been living in the past months.
You caught your wife’s eye seeing that she was thinking the exact same thing. Alexia grabbed your hand and brought it up to her lips.
“Mama, Albs, We have something to tell you.” You moved closer to your wife as she handed a small picture to the two women. You held your breath as you watched Alba’s face contort in confusion until realisation finally hit her.
“No! No! Ay dios mio!” Alba screamed as she stood up from her chair, hand coming to cover her mouth in shock. She flung herself at her younger sister, “Voy a ser tia! (I am going to be an aunt)”
You watch the two sisters embrace before it’s you being crushed in a hug by the younger girl, “Fácil con ella, Alba! (Easy with her, Alba!)” You hear your wife sternly tell off her sister as Alba lets you go with a sheepish grin.
Eli tries to contain her tears but as she stares at the picture of her grandchild she can’t contain her excitement as they fall down her face.
“I could not be more happy for you, I truly mean that.” Your mother in law says as she pulls the both of you into a hug.
“I can’t believe you knocked her up, hermana!” You try to hide the laugh bubbling up Alba’s comment but can’t when you witness Eli smacking the back of her neck.
You watch on as the three women you’ve grown to absolutely adore chat excitedly about what is to come.
Telling Alexia’s teammates was a lot easier, you knew that the girls would tease their captain endlessly about her real motherhood. You haven’t been around the team as often as you normally would be due to not wanting to spoil the surprise and also not being able to keep up with them in your current state.
You have gotten countless texts from the two youngest, Jana and Claudia. They have been blowing up the group chat ever since you graciously declined to go out a few weeks ago.
Alexia met you outside Barcelona’s training facility, you were now 5 months and your bump was a bit more noticeable than when you told your family, you had thrown on one of Alexia’s oversized jumpers before you left the flat.
Since then you’d found out that you and Alexia were having a little girl, this only added to your wife’s excitement as she had always wanted to have a daughter not that it mattered though.
Alexia kissed you softly, “Hola, Mi amor.” Her hands found their usual place on your hips before she quickly bent over to kiss your stomach, “Hola, pequeña. (Hi, little one).” You can’t help but melt at your wife’s new habit of talking to your baby.
You gently comb through her messy blonde hair as she stands to give you another kiss before grabbing your hand and leading you into the building.
“Did you get it, hermosa?” Your wife asks as you walk through the hall, you hold the plastic bag up to show her as she eagerly grabs it wanting to get a look at your newest purchase.
“Is it okay?” You ask as she nods her head swallowing the lump in her throat as she tries to keep it together before you tell the team.
“Es perfecta. (It’s perfect)” She whispers as you pull her into a tight hug, arms locking around her shoulders as you kiss her neck sweetly letting her compose herself.
“Estas lista? (Are you ready?)” Alexia nods her head a smile gracing her perfect features as her arm wraps protectively around your waist. You hear the girls before you see them, their constant energy always baffles you especially in your recent state.
Jana is the first to spot the two of you as she nearly falls off the bench she was standing on, no doubt creating some sort of trouble with her other half.
“(Y/N/N)! You are here!” Her abrupt shout of your name causes the team to look your way, each one of them delighted to see you. Before Jana can pounce on you like she normally does Alexia intercepts and picks up the younger girl showering her in kisses which was strange from the normally serious Captain.
Jana didn’t complain though, she loved the attention Alexia would give her. That didn’t stop Pina from nearly ploughing into you as you just about stopped you from bowling you over.
You gave her a timid hug not wanting to bring her closer in case she felt the bump, she noticed your lack of affection and pouted, “¿Donde has estado, reina? (Where have you been, queen?)” You shyly smile at the girl that you considered a daughter, “It’s a long story, bebita.” You affectionately cup her face giving her cheek a quick kiss.
After wrestling Alexia, Jana managed to finally get out of her strong hold, “I’ve missed you,” She whispers as she buries her face into your neck, you wrap your arms around the younger girl, “I’ve missed you too, so much!” You kiss her temple before giving her one last squeeze.
You greet the rest of the team that you considered family, Ingrid and Patri pull you in for a well needed hug after not seeing you for a while and your two favourite English women Lucy and Kiera catch you up on what you’ve been missing. Mapi kisses your cheek sweetly trying to fill you in all the chaos she’s caused since you last saw her.
After all the commotion dies down, Alexia moves back over towards you wrapping her arm around your waist protectively before getting everyone’s attention.
“Chicas! We have an announcement.” You lean against your wife as all the girls focus on the two of you, “We have a brand new singing!” All the girls looked around in confusion as the transfer window had shut months ago. You chuckled at Alexia’s teasing before pulling out the small jersey.
On the back of the jersey it had ‘La Princesa, 2023.’ You catch Ingrid’s eye as you hold your stomach making the bump more noticeable. The girls burst into celebrations, Mapi flings herself at her best friend taking her down as they land in a heap of limbs on the floor. All the girls quickly pile on your wife as you can’t help but let out a tearful laugh.
Kiera comes over to you first pulling you into a tight hug whispering her congratulations as you thank her. You try to wipe the tears but as more and more of the girls pull you close you can’t help but feel elated.
Mapi is absolutely ecstatic as she bounces around the room, “Can I name it!” You hear her say before your wife sternly corrects her, “She’s not an it, Idiota!”
Ingrid leans down to kisses your forehead in congratulations, “I have a feeling this baby is gonna have a lot of adoring aunts!” You smile at the taller girl looking around the room.
Your eyes drift to your wife as she cuddles the two younger girls close, smiles light up both their faces as they cling to their mentor. You slowly make your way over not wanting to burst their little bubble but as you wife’s eyes land on you she beckons you over.
You join the group hug wrapping your arms around Jana and Claudia, “Vas a ser madres! (You are gonna be mothers.)” You hear Jana sniffle softly as she pulls the three of you closer. “We already are, with you two.” Alexia tells them, you smile fondly at the little family you already have, the excitement rushes back at the thought of adding another one to the group.
“It would be so fun if you named the baby after me!” Mapi tries again, much to her girlfriend's embarrassment, “No it wouldn’t.” Alexia deadpans leaving the girls in hysterics.
The third trimester came around, you were just 8 months and Alexia had been an absolute godsend. She waited on you hand and foot, constantly making sure you and her child were okay and reminding you that you were still the most beautiful girl she’s ever seen.
When your feet were sore and swollen, Alexia didn’t hesitate to rub them for you. She had kept up with your crazy food cravings and even endured them herself to make you feel less alone.
Your hormones had been up and down, you were either the happiest you’ve ever been or the grumpiest. Alexia had brought home the wrong brand of cereal and you nearly took her head off banishing her to the couch for the night until you got cold and forced her to come and cuddle you.
She had never complained once, always patient with you and you couldn’t be more grateful. You knew you could be a pain in the ass especially as you were coming towards the end of the pregnancy and all you wanted was the baby out of you.
After feeling the fifth kick to your ribs, you huff grumpily begging for your daughter to just settle down for a few hours. You had blamed Alexia for the constant kicking, complaining that because your wife played football that meant your daughter had obviously inherited it.
“Your child is kicking me, again!” You sigh as you glare at your innocent wife. She chuckles softly pulling you closer to her as you shift on her lap uncomfortably, “Oh, so now it’s my child.” You try to hide the small smile her comment brings, not wanting her to know that she succeeded in cheering you up.
Suddenly in a better mood you lean your body weight on your wife wanting her affection, Alexia happily meets the standard kissing your face. Little footsteps sound out through the flat and a fluffy face peers up at the two of you.
“Nala!” You shout in glee encouraging the dog to jump up and join the cuddle session. Once you have a comfortable grip on her she’s fast to fall asleep. “I hope the bebita like the dog, because the dog was here first.” You playfully roll your eyes at Alexia’s comment before turning your head to kiss her.
A few weeks go by, your cravings get weirder and your bump gets even bigger which you can not fathom. Alexia’s protectiveness reaches an all time high and she barely leaves you alone for two seconds not that you mind.
Each night before you go to bed Alexia has to have her one on one time with her little girl. Which is difficult considering her little girl is literally inside you but she insists that the baby need to hear her voice to recognise her.
She puts you on a firm speaking ban for ten minutes every single night as you listen to her talk about her day, she lies in between your legs and holds your stomach carefully as she whispers to your daughter as if they were sharing secrets.
One night she catches you by surprise as she starts softly singing to your belly, you can’t help but run your hands gently through her hair as she presses kiss after kiss to the bump. After her ten minutes pass and you can finally speak she leaves one last lingering kiss promising your baby girl that she will continue tomorrow.
You can’t contain the adoration for your wife as she gently pulls your sleeping shirt down, she quickly moves back up to get under the covers and face you. You cup her face bringing her in for a deep kiss, trying to convey all the love you have for the mother of your child.
She wastes no time with wrapping her arms around your body and bringing you closer to her, hands settling protectively on your belly.
“Te amo mucho, Mi amor. Thank you for giving me her.” She said it with such love and all you could do was kiss her again, wanting her to know that she’s the reason you're able to do this.
You never understood when people would say that having a baby makes you a family. You and Alexia had always been a family and now you were ready to grow that family day by day.

You always have an excuse
Hi. So this is a request and I really liked the idea. Hopefully, I did it justice. I hope you enjoy

Description: R always has excuses but eventually slips up.

Shit. Shit. Shit. You were late. You were so late. But it wasn’t your fault; indeed, honestly, it wasn’t your fault. Your parents were not the greatest at being parents. They had you when they were just 16 and far too young to be having children. Sure, they paid for your football stuff and gave you a lot of what you asked for, but it was to keep you quiet and out of the house. You didn’t mind too much. It was easier when you only had to look out for yourself, never telling your parents where or who you were with. You always had a range of excuses ready for anyone who asked – lying and telling your friend’s parents that someone else would be taking you home, saying your mum was just around the corner, she had work so couldn’t come to your matches. It was fine. You knew nothing different.
You signed for La Masia when you were 10. The training was intense, but you loved it. You thrived under the pressure, quickly working your way up the ranks. Your debut for the first team happened shortly before your 16th birthday. You had never felt prouder of yourself.
“And here we have it. At just 15 years old, Y/F/N Y/S/N, making her debut for FC Barcelona Femeni. She’s homegrown, working her way up La Masia ranks. She is definitely a future star.” The commentator said as you made your way onto the pitch. This is what you have been dreaming of since you discovered football. This was the dream that only some people achieved. And you were one of them. A professional footballer. Your life’s goal was achieved.
The game was an easy win. The other team was fighting a relegation battle, as Barca slipped 10 goals past their keeper.
“Vamos,” Patri shouted as she shook you by the shoulders. “A debut and a brace. Is that a Ballon d’Or I see in your future?” You laughed as she wrapped you in a fierce hug.
“Neña, what a performance, hey?” Mapi called as Alexia affectionately hit the back of your head.
“Where’s your Mamí? I’m sure she wants to see you after that performance.” You didn’t even bat an eyelid as you smiled sweetly at Marta
“Oh, she said we’d meet outside by the main gates – saves us from trying to find each other on the pitch and in the crowd.” You waved at the chaos surrounding you. You knew your mother was nowhere near the football stadium – you doubted she even knew you had a football match, let alone your senior debut. It was easy to slip away from the changing rooms; you had significant practice doing it most of your life.
And now you were running so, so late. You had woken up on time, but the food in the house looked a little off, so you rushed to get something from the bakery on your way to the bus stop. But the line was bigger than anticipated, so you were rushing to catch the bus. A man walking in the other direction wasn’t paying attention and crashed into you, causing you to drop your stuff and spill hot coffee all over yourself. That had disrupted your flow, and you missed the bus, having to wait 5 minutes for the next one, which wasn’t a big deal. However, the metro system was delayed. And now you were 10 minutes behind, and then the bus you were supposed to catch from the metro station to the training centre never showed up, so you had to catch an alternative one, making you 30 minutes late. You had texted Jona to tell you you were running late but you knew you had laps waiting for you when you actually got there. You arrived at the pitch hot, sweaty, and tired. This was not an ideal start to the morning.
It was a known ‘Alexia Rule’ that every minute late to practice without a reasonable excuse was a lap. As you arrived at the huddle, one boot on, one still in your hand and your shirt stained with coffee, you could tell she was unimpressed. With all your rushing, you had forgotten to think of an excuse. You didn’t want to tell her the real reason; you had a feeling ‘Oh, sorry Alexia, I’m late because my parents are really shitty, forget they have a kid sometimes, and they haven’t been home in over a week, and the food in the fridge looked a little funky’ would not go down too well. She arched an eyebrow at you.
“Um …” You floundered, thinking about what to say. You could tell her the semi-truth that the metro was delayed and you had missed the buses, but they thought you got dropped off at the top of the road by your dad on the way to work. You could tell them there was traffic, but they all drove, so they knew you were lying.
“You have 30 laps to run at the end of training,” Alexia had a stern voice that you knew meant she was serious. 30 laps? That was basically 10k. Your eyes widened to comically sized proportions. 45 minutes of running around in a circle … after training? She was trying to kill you; you were convinced of it.
“You can’t be serious?” You gawked at her. Her other eyebrow rose to join the other one.
“Deadly.” She said icily and walked away.
Holy fuck. You were really, royally fucked this time. You were so dead. You had to miss training. But again, it hadn’t been your fault. The boiler had broken in your house, which wasn’t a big deal – it was late spring in Barcelona, and you didn’t need heating. But you did need the hot water. You had tried to ask your parents to stay home whilst someone fixed it, knowing that you had training and they could definitely work from home for a day. They had dismissed you with a flippant wave of their hands and continued what they were doing. You phoned the company, asking them to come and fix it as soon as possible. But, as expected, they told you they would be there before lunch, which was the best they could offer. It was now 2.30pm, and there was no sign of them. You had texted Jona this morning, offering a weak excuse of feeling a little rough. You hadn’t expected him to tell Alexia that you were feeling bad, and it sounded like you were home alone.
The knock on the door had you running towards it – thinking it was the person coming to fix the boiler. “Gracias, Gracias. Es el …” You rushed the explanation, not realising that it was not a plumber but rather your irate captain. You froze as you looked up. Shit.
“You look fine, neña. You don’t look like you’ve … what was it? Ah, yes, ‘picked up a little something’.” She was far too calm. You could see her anger bubbling under the surface, though.
“Ale, I-” you tried to explain.
“No, no quiero escucharlo,” she cut you off, a hand raising to stop you. “You lied. You skipped training. Was it worth it? Was it so much more important than training?” She hadn’t bothered to come into the house, standing at your front door, a bag of things meant to help you feel better in her hand. “Here,” she shoved it at you. “You’re on the bench until you can prove that you want to be a part of Barcelona Femeni.” And with that, she stormed off.
Tears welled in your eyes. She hadn’t let you explain … but what could you say? ‘Sorry, Ale, my parents are arseholes and don’t realise that I have a life and a job as well’? ‘Sorry, Ale, I had to wait for the plumber to come and fix our heating and hot water, and no, my parents – the adults in the house – couldn’t do it because they think their time is so much more important than mine’? ‘Sorry, Ale, I’m currently trying to raise myself, and whilst I’m usually ok at it, sometimes I fuck up’? You couldn’t say those things to her. You couldn’t tell her how tough your life could be sometimes … most of the time. You couldn’t tell her that your parents don’t even know you have a game, let alone watch it or attend it. You couldn’t tell her you often wake up in an empty house for weeks because your parents jetted off somewhere again. You couldn’t tell her that you doubt your parents could even tell you your full name and birthday.
She thought you didn’t want to be a part of Barca. Barca was your saving grace. Barca was the only thing that got you out of bed. The friendships you made were the closest thing to a normal family you had. Jana, Vicky, Martina, Patri, Claudia, Bruna, Esmee, Salma … they were your crazy cousins, always making you laugh and willing to go along with your mad ideas. Ona, Aitana, Lucy, Cata, Mapi … they were your big sisters, always protecting you on and off the pitch and lightly teasing you. Ingrid, Caro, Keira, Mariona, Frido … they were the calming aunts that helped you through any predicament. Marta, Paños, Irene … Alexia … they were your motherly figures, the people you could always rely on to love you regardless of what else was happening in your life. Did they think you didn’t want to be there? Barcelona was the single most greatest thing that had ever happened to you.
You looked at the bag Alexia had shoved at you. It was full of healthy smoothies, nutritious snacks, and your favourite chocolates. You could even see a soft teddy instructing you to ‘Get Well Soon’. It made you sob even harder. Eventually, you moved to the sofa. Once you started crying, you couldn’t stop. You cried over everything – disappointing Alexia, having no hot water, being benched, your parents' dislike of you, your seeming lack of support system, how you appeared to fuck up the one good thing in your life. You cried yourself to sleep on the sofa, clutching the bag to your chest and feeling so incredibly sorry for both you and the girls you had failed.
The next morning, you looked horrific – puffy, red eyes, dishevelled hair, blotchy skin. You didn’t even try to hide it as you made your way to the bus stop, ignoring the weird looks thrown your way. You were in a daze as you walked through the metro system and onto the second bus, forgetting to hurry down the side alleys instead of the main road. You didn’t see Ingrid’s car as it drove past you, a concerned Mapi, Ingrid, Ona, and Lucy in it.
“Era que?” Mapi asked, pointing over her shoulder.
“Y/N? Sí, fue” Ona nodded.
“Why, though? She said she gets dropped off by her dad on his way to work.” Ingrid was just as perplexed. You seemed to know exactly where you were going and had stepped off the bus with an ease only known to someone who took the same route every day.
“Maybe it was a one-off? He couldn’t take her today, so she had to get the bus? Although I don’t know why she wouldn’t just ask one of us – she lives on most of our routes to work.” Lucy pondered, all of them confused over you.
“Hey,” Ingrid said as you walked into the changing rooms. You didn’t even smile at her, just nodding and moving to your cubby. “Um … so, how come you were on the bus?” You froze. How did she know you got the bus?
“It’s just that we saw you as we were driving in. If you needed a lift, you could’ve just asked; you know we’d all be more than happy to —” Ona explained.
“Yeh, my d-dad only told me this morning that he couldn’t take me the whole way, so … he dropped me off near the metro, and I just got the bus from there,” you lied, rushing to gather your boots and head to the pitch. It was a blatant lie. Your voice was too high, and your hands shook slightly as you tried to devise a realistic excuse.
“Todas sabemos que era una mentira, verdad?” Mapi looked around as the door swung shut.
The following month in training was awkward, to say the least. After your slip-up with the bus, you made sure to take the earlier trains, getting to training before most people had even left their beds. You figured you’d use the time to prove to Alexia and the others that you wanted to be there. You were still benched, but your name was still on the game day sheet, so you liked to believe they weren’t thinking of selling you or cancelling your contract after the season ended. The issue was getting home. If you stayed late, you were often questioned, but if you were seen walking out of the car park, you were also questioned. You really needed to learn how to drive ... quickly.
Eventually, Jona could no longer justify you sitting on the bench. Barca had the Champions League semi-finals coming up, and everyone noted your absence on the pitch.
“Y/N, you will be playing the next match. You’re going to be a sub around 60 or 70 minutes.” It was a short announcement, but you couldn’t help your heart soar. Did this mean they finally believed you when you said that Barca was the best thing that happened to you? Alexia still hadn’t looked at you since That Day, but she was no longer actively seething, which you took as a win. But now you would be playing in the home leg of the Champions League semi-finals. You were nervous, but not because of the match; you were on a 0 – 3 aggregate, and you were going to be playing at Camp Nou – it was an almost guaranteed win –but because you knew the team would be more suspicious of your lack of parents.
You decided to do what you always did – never look to the crowd, do a lap of the stadium for the fans, hurry back into the changing rooms, and slip away. Simple. Easy. You had been doing it all your life. But you hadn’t accounted for how attentive the team would be. They watched you wearily from a distance, concerned when you made no effort to look to the friends and family section during warm-ups or after the match when everyone usually went to see their loved ones. You stayed back, signing more things for fans, and then headed straight to the tunnel. After the celebration in the changing rooms, you gathered your things and disappeared before anyone could bring them up. You had mastered the art of vanishing like a ghost after matches.
But now it was the final. It was obviously an away game, but everyone’s family came. Even the coaching staff brought their loved ones. Not you, though. Your parents hadn’t known you’d left the country, let alone understood that you were playing in the most prestigious match in Europe for clubs. You were in the Starting XI, but you weren’t nervous. You knew you could win this match; this Champions title was yours for the taking. You didn’t realise that the fact that you had no family would be exposed the minute the final whistle went.
You played the full 90 minutes and an extra 5 for injury time. You were exhausted, but that didn’t matter as soon as the clock ran out. You had done it. Champions of Europe. The screams and shouts were so loud it hurt your ears, but you didn’t care. You felt unstoppable.
“Vamos, pequeña. Donde esta tu mamí? Quiero finalmente conocer a la mujer a la que debemos agradecer por regalarle al mundo contigo.” Mapi said as you sat on the grass, your medal around your neck.
“Más tarde. I just want to sit here and soak this all in.” You waved her away. She took you at your word but made meaningful eyes at Alexia, having an unspoken conversation as you moved away. Alexia watched as you leaned back, resting on your arms, legs outstretched, and eyes shut – head tilted to feel the sun on your skin. She waited for 10 minutes, watching you make no effort to see your family. It was the first thing she had done after the trophy celebration. She had run straight to her mother and sister, thanking them profusely for all their sacrifices and expressing so much gratitude towards them – throwing her sweaty body at them and tackling them into long, tight hugs.
“Do you want to see your family now?” It was the first non-football-related words she’d said to you in well over a month.
“No, I’m ok. I’ll see them later,” you dismissed her quickly.
“Do you know where they are? We could bring them down onto the pitch if you don’t want to stand up.” She wasn’t letting this go. She had an inkling that she hoped was wrong.
“It’s alright, Ale. Honestly. I’m fine sitting here, soaking this all up by myself.” You hadn’t opened your eyes, so you had assumed from the quietness she had moved away. “It’s not like you’d find them anyway,” you whispered as an unwanted tear escaped you.
“Qué quieres decir, cariño?” Your eyes snapped open, coming face to face with Alexia, Ona and Keira. You sat up, trying to hide your face.
“Oh, noth-”
“No me mientas. Dónde están tu mamí y papí?” Alexia asked sternly. You misunderstood her, thinking she was angry at you. You shook your head, refusing to answer.
“Neña, are your parents here?” Ona asked quietly, coming to sit next to you. You took a deep breath.
“No. They aren’t.”
“Do you want to phone them?” Keira suggested, hoping that it was just because they couldn’t take time away from work to attend in person. She also sat down, gesturing her phone to you as an invitation to use it. You took another deep breath.
“I don’t think they even know I had a football match, let alone a Champions League final.” Another tear slipped down your cheek. Alexia sat in front of you, reaching for your hands.
“Qué quieres decir?” She asked again, thumbs rubbing gently over the backs of your hands.
“My parents … I don’t really know how to say it,” you paused, Ona gently rubbing your back comfortingly. “My parents don’t really … parent?” You chuckled lightly.
“They don’t support you?” Keira asked, her hand resting on your knee.
“They don’t care enough. They leave for weeks on end without telling me. I get food and stuff like that on my own. I’m basically raising myself at this point. I don’t think they know I have a contract with Barca. I doubt they even know I play football. They just let me do whatever I wanted as long as I was out of the house, not causing trouble and quiet; they didn’t care. They’re lucky I haven’t turned into a criminal or something.” You tried to add a joke to lighten the mood.
“But you said you meet up with your parents after home matches,” Ona couldn’t imagine achieving half the things she did without her family supporting her from the sidelines.
“And you told us your dad drops you off every morning on the way to work,” Keira added, equally disbelieving – her parents were her biggest fans.
“Yeh, I lied. I just go home after matches. And I get the metro to training.”
“But training is nowhere near the metro, and you don’t live near a metro station either.” She still didn’t want to consider what you were saying to be true.
You explained, “I get a bus from mine to the metro and then a bus from the metro to training.”
“That’s why you were getting off the bus that day when we saw you,” Ona realised. She hadn’t trusted your story but had considered no other possibilities.
“That’s why you're late to training sometimes? Because of the buses and trains?” Alexia asked, her hands never leaving yours.
“Yeh.” You looked down, ashamed of your situation and lying to them.
“And that day when you missed training. You weren’t sick. What happened?”
“I … um … the boiler broke, so I had to wait for someone to come fix it. Which they never did, by the way. I had to phone some random company that massively overcharged me, and the water definitely doesn’t get as hot as it used to.” You babbled nervously. “It wasn’t because I don’t want to be at Barca. It’s the only thing that keeps me going, knowing that I have you guys looking out for me. It makes everything else seem not as bad,” you whispered, needing them to know just how important Barca was to you. You looked around. Patri and Pina tried to do the perfect chest bump as Jana and Bruna filmed. Lucy was chasing her niece and nephew. Ingrid and Mapi were with Ingrid’s parents, smiling widely as they talked. Marta and Caro were sat off to one side, talking quietly. You could see the others dotted around the stadium, talking to fans, speaking to parents, and enjoying the support.
“Cariño, I am so sorry,” Alexia implored. I shouted at you and benched you. I’m sorry I made you think I didn’t believe you took Barca seriously.”
“Why didn’t you tell us, neña?” Ona asked.
“We only want what’s best for you, kid,” Keira added.
“Um … I don’t really know. It doesn’t really matter. It’s been like this my whole life, so…”
“Cariño. It does matter. But we know now, and that’s all that matters, sí?” Alexia stood up, dragging you with her. “Let’s go see my family. Mi Mamí has been asking to meet you for ages. And before you say no, she already has plans for you to come round for dinner one night. Y en secreto, ella siempre quiso una tercera hija.” She said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as Ona took your hand.
“Oh, Eli will have to fight my Mama on that one, Ale. She always wanted a goal-scoring daughter.”
“Well, my mum says you are more than welcome to stay at her house if you ever visit the UK as long as you cook her paella.” Keira smiled.
Maybe your biological family was shite, but your found one certainly wasn't.
I hope you liked it <3

against all odds (to wait for you is all i can do) – part one
alexia putellas x photojournalist!reader
status: completed
(a/n in the tags) [parts: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve]
word count: 1.1k
The thing was, you didn’t plan on getting laid tonight.
After a couple of days trying to settle in at Barcelona and looking for your lost luggage, all you wanted to do was to finally start your vacation. You just wanted to relax and experiencing the night life in Barcelona was definitely a good way to officially kick it off.
So there you were at the bar of an (apparently) exclusive night club in the city–the location was emailed to you by Derek with a VIP pass and a note that said, ‘have fun ;)’–nursing your second, half-empty glass of mojito, the speakers blasting rhythmic reggaeton music, when a woman slid into the space next to you, cool and confident with the way she leaned on her elbows against the counter as she gave the bartender her order in smooth spanish, “A gin rickey, please.”
The woman looked to be several years older than you–and taller, too, even with your heels on–and maybe it was the alcohol or the proximity but there was no stopping yourself from openly admiring her. Her black, cropped top and her tight, high-rise pants revealed perfectly broad shoulders and toned arms, as well as the taught lines of her stomach. When your eyes travelled back to her face, you found her looking at you with a raised brow and immediately, your cheeks warmed. The fact that you were gawking shamelessly and got caught doing so… just wow.
Words of apology were already on your tongue but the curves of her lips were mesmerising, the elegant slope of her brows distracting, and those eyes… the depth in them threatened to drown you that all coherent thought deserted you.
“Wow,” you breathed out.
“Excuse me?” Came the bemused question, an instant slap to the face that sobered you up immediately.
“I’m so–I’m sorry, that’s what I meant to say. I’m–” You palmed a hand over your face as you began but a small chuckle stopped you halfway. You risked a peek through your fingers and saw the woman with her lips to the glass, something akin to a teasing smirk on her face while she remained leaning on the counter by her hip.
“You’re not from around here, are you?” The woman asked as she took a sip from her drink.
Not really the question you were expecting but you’d rather take a reprieve over a disaster. And at that, you smiled sheepishly at her. “Is it that obvious?”
“Hmm, no, not really. Your slight accent gave you away but your Spanish is impressive.”
“I’m still working on losing it but I’ll take that as a win. I’m assuming you’re from around here?”
“My home town is about an hour away outside of the city but I stay here most of the time for work.”
“That must be nice, being close to home.” Feeling more at ease now, you sipped at your drink. The woman did the same. Then you continued. “So, what do you do?”
For a moment there was nothing but music and chatter as the woman regarded you with an unreadable expression. Her eyes glinted–with what exactly? curiosity?–her head cocked slightly to the side. Then she sipped at her drink again. Did you say something offensive? you wondered.
“I work between the sport stadiums. And you? Where is home and what brings you to Barcelona?”
It was clear from the vagueness of her answer that the stranger didn’t want to talk about her job and it didn’t help your growing interest for her. You wanted to ask her about further details but the dismissive tone with which she answered made you hold your tongue and her question, anyway, made you pause as you pondered to answer.
As an orphan who lived a few years in the system, the subject of where home was had always been a sore spot for you even if the stranger didn’t mean anything deeper by it. In some sense, your adoptive mom was home but there was always a part of you that longed for… something.  But, of course, you couldn’t bring that up right now especially to someone you just met. So you just told her where you were from, that you were on vacation, and that you work as a photojournalist for a press agency you helped establish. Something in your answer must had piqued the woman’s interest because her brows shot up.
“Which branch do you work in?”
“Spot news. But I’ve been meaning to expand my portfolio and get into another branch. Maybe try sports or portrait?”
The woman hummed in appreciation. “Any sports in particular? Wait, do you even like sports?”
“I honestly know close to nothing so I haven’t made a decision yet, but it will definitely be women’s sports,” you replied. She nodded and sipped at her drink again, never breaking her gaze from yours and you felt your cheeks warm again. Those eyes… they were dangerous; they lit up every nerve in your body and it felt good. You continued. “What about you? Are you much of a sports person?”
And to your total bafflement, the woman beamed at you, radiant and glowing, dimples in her cheeks as mirth shone in her eyes.
“What?” you asked, a bit nervous and at somewhat of a loss.
The stranger let out a small chuckle, shook her head slightly as she rubbed the bridge of her nose, an attempt to hide her smile. “Nothing, nothing. And yeah, I’m a big sports fan. Then a beat passed before she continued, “you ever thought of covering women’s football? There are plenty of matches happening in the domestic leagues right now.”
“Maybe I will,” you hummed, mulling it over. It sounded good actually. And then you asked, “what else do you suggest for someone to do in Barcelona?”
The woman downed her remaining drink and placed the empty glass on the counter. Before you knew it, you could feel the warmth of her breath against your ear and you shivered when she purred. “Dance, of course.”And then she was holding your hand, pulling you off of the stool you were on, and began dragging you to the direction of the dance floor.
All at once, warmth encompassed you: the crowd immediately swallowed you both, bodies pressed on you but the heat that emanated from the woman before you was the sole beacon for your attention. She had a loose arm around your waist and as the both of you danced to the music, you took that opportunity to wrap your arms around her neck and pulled her closer. She slowed down and she still had enough height on you that she had to lower her head.
“I never caught your name,” you spoke into her ear.
“I’m Ale,” she replied. She pulled back to smile down at you. And then, she kissed you.

New Year's Eve Party (3) II Alexia Putellas x Reader
Tumblr media
New Year's Eve Party Masterlist (all previous parts can be found here) I Word count: 2193
On this last day of the year, Alexia sat on her side of your bed, deep in thought. The past year hasn’t been what she expected after her severe knee injury. The recovery was hard, her knee still bothered her and her latest surgery had been only a couple of days ago. All she wanted to do was get back on the pitch and show them that she still was the greatest of all time.
A small voice snapped her out of her thoughts. “Mami, why are you so sad?“, her daughter asked, struggling to climb onto the bed. With a helping hand, Alexia made sure that Victoria was safely seated next to her.
“Oh, it’s nothing, love.“, she forced a smile. The toddler let her head drop down on her mums lap, whispering; “Mama said it’s your knee.“ Carefully, she bent forward to blow the softest kiss on Alexias knee, barely touching the surgery scar. A genuine smile spread on Alexias face; “You’re the sweetest.“ She gently brushed over her daughters hair.
“Nala, come here!“, Victoria called suddenly, patting the sheets next to her. Alexias dog jumped up without hesitation, looking expectantly at the two. “What are you doing?“, Alexia laughed while her daughter pulled the dog closer to her.
You were watching the scene from the bathroom where you were getting ready for the New Years Eve party. “She made it her mission to cheer you up.“, you explained. Your wife shook your head; “I’m okay. I don’t need cheering up.“
You knew this wasn’t true but before you could protest, Victoria watched you with big eyes; “Mama, tell Mami.“ “What?“, your eyebrows knotted together in confusion. Alexia mirrored your puzzled expression; “What are you talking about?“ Instead of an answer, Victoria just stared at you stubbornly.
When you realized she wouldn’t continue talking, you turned back to your wife; “Elisabet will soon be here. We should get you ready for the party.“ “You’re right. We can’t be late.“, she nodded and slowly got up from the bed. “Exactly. Do you want to help her get ready?“, you asked your toddler. She stood up immediately, bouncing up and down on the bed, her tiny ponytail swaying; „Yes!" Alexia scrunched her nose playfully; “Can’t I go in sweats? I bet the girls wouldn’t mind.“
“To a party?“, Victoria asked bewildered. “No, you’re right, love. I can’t go out like this when your Mama looks that stunning.“, Alexia winked at you. You could feel a blush creeping up your cheeks. “No, you can’t! You both have to look like princesses!“, your daughter decided. Your wife let out a soft laugh; “Agreed.“ “What are you going to wear?“, Victoria asked, bouncing with excitement.
After a moment of consideration, Alexia pulled out a forest green dress from her closet; “What about this dress? It matches your Mamas.“ Victorias answer came out as a yell; “Yes!“
“It’s perfect.”, you admitted chuckling. Your daughter was completely enchanted by the midfielder’s transformation which reminded her of the fairytale her Abuela told her about an ordinary girl becoming a princess through a fairy godmother:” You look so beautiful together.”
“Thank you.”, you kissed her cheek and hoped that kiss transported the deep love you felt for her, before you reacted to the ringing doorbell adding, this must be your Abuela.” “Oh, already?”, Victoria looked up surprised, she did not feel ready to let you two go just yet.
“Hello, anybody home?”, Elisabet asked giggling. Quickly your daughter ran to her grandmother beaming at the sight of her:”Abuela!” “Mi Estrella.”, the older woman exclaimed happily, before kneeling down, so her arms caught the running toddler.   “I think you two will have a good night.”, Alexia observed.
A warm smile was playing on your lips: “I think so too.” “Hello Mama.”, your wife greeted her mum with a welcoming hug.  For a moment Elisabet closed her eyes, enjoying the moment between her older daughter:  “Hello Ale.”
Afterwards your mother-in-law went immediately to you, her whisper was filled with curiosity:” Did you told her already?” “No, not yet. I wanted to wait with that after her surgery”, you slowly shook your head. A hint of disappointment showed up in the older woman’s face, but you tried to tell yourself that you had good reasons for being quiet about this until now.
The quiet talk between you both made Alexia show her impatient side, she was eager to know what you had exchanged: “What? What have you two been scheming again?”
Ignoring her daughter, Elisabet said to you:” I mean she’s done with that now.” Truthfully you answered: “Eli, I didn’t find the right time for it yet.” “Maybe you find it tonight.”, she suggested in a hopeful tone. You could feel her gaze cutting through the fabric of your dress which did a good job at hiding the small bump.
Meanwhile Victoria drew Alexia’s attention with an innocent wish:” Mami will you show Tia Mapi that I’m wearing her jersey tonight?” “Of course, I will. Let me take a photo of you for her.”, the midfielder nodded grinning. Excited the little girl confessed:” I love it so much.” “I will tell her.”, Alexia promised who knew that the defender’s injury and hers was saddening her daughter more than she wanted to admit.
Clearing her throat Elisabet decided loudly: “But for now, go and enjoy your party. She needs to get out after her surgery.”
“You’re right. Ale, we got to go.“, you reminded your wife. Alexia looked up from the photos she had just taken of Victoria in her jersey. With pleading eyes, your little daughter looked up to you, her arms outstretched so you could pick her up; “Can you tuck me in first?“ In a swift movement, you lifted her up and carried her into the bedroom; “Of course, love.“ “Thanks.“
While she got herself comfortable in her sheets, you picked out a book to read to her. You knew she loved the story of a young football playing girl, so Alexia and you had started to replace the name with Victorias.
“And that’s when Victoria realized, she could achieve anything she wanted with her friends and with her football team.“, you ended the story. Victoria tiredly blinked up at you; “I like that.“ “It’s a great story, right?“, you smiled softly. With a yawn, the toddler buried herself deeper into her blanket; “Yes.“
She was already asleep when you leaned forward to gently kiss her forehead; “Good night, love.“ “I’ll take over now. You two really shouldn’t be late for your party.“, Elisabet smiled from the door at you. You got up from the side of Victorias bed, while Alexia pressed a kiss on her mums cheek; “Thank you, mum.“
“Go and have fun.“, she replied while swatting at her daughters arm. You winked at her with a laugh; “Oh, we’ll.“ “Come on, we got to go.“, Alexia echoed what you have been saying for the past thirty minutes once again and took your hand in hers.
Still, to your surprise, you were the first ones to arrive at the party. Fridolina and her girlfriend were just finished with decorating their house. Alexia promptly handed you a glass of champagne as the other guests began to arrive. You politely took it, carrying it around with you but not drinking from it.
During her smalltalk with her team mates, Alexia realized that the level of your champagne hadn’t change over the course of the evening. You could tell from the glance she gave you that she was worried; “What’s wrong, mi amor? Don’t you feel good?“
“No, I feel much better than the past weeks to be honest.“, you admitted, swallowing hard. “You do?“ “I…“, you started, but Mapi tugged at both of your arms at the same time. “Girls, get ready for the group photo!“
“Yes?“, Alexia prompted you to continue, ignoring her team mate completely. “You had so much going on, so I didn’t know how to tell you…“, you admitted. Mapis voice interrupted you again; “Hurry up, you two.“ But you could see in your wifes’ face that she understood; “One second, Mapi. Are you saying you’re…?“
You nodded slowly but delighted; “That it worked? Yes.“ “Wow.“, Alexia breathed. You both were finally pulled into the group photo. “Alexia, always the latest.“, Mapi commented amused like she already had few too many drinks. Alexia replied quietly; “We’re here now.“ “Finally!“ “Let’s just take the photo.“
After they took the annual group photo, Aitana was satisfied with the result:” I think it’s the first time I saw Ale really smiling tonight.” “At least we have proof of it.”, Patri mocked the team’s captain lovingly. This comment made Alexia roll her eyes while defending herself at the same time:”  Let me smile I just heard the best news in a while.”
Before she could explain her reply any further the midfielder answered a video call from your daughter:” Hi love, shouldn’t you be asleep already?” “I woke up again. Abuela said I could call you.”, Victoria pouted.
Immediately Mapi spotted the jersey the toddler was wearing which made her grin even harder: “Love the shirt you’re wearing!” “Thanks.”, the pout on your daughter’s face was replaced with a sincere smile. The alcohol loosened the defender’s tongue as she blurted out in a genuine tone: “I’m obsessed.” “Me too. It’s my favourite.”, Victoria confirmed proudly.
With a playful pained gesture Alexia commented:” Sadly. Hopefully the next one knows which position on the field is the best.” “The next one?”, Mapi looked interested between you and your wife. Your heart warmed up when Alexia explained her sentence prior:” She will be a big sister in 2024.” “I will?”, Victoria asked visibly touched by the news. “Yes.”, you told her, while your heart sank a bit as you couldn’t hug her in this very moment.
But it didn’t seem to matter too much to her as she was running up to her grandmother:” Abuela!”  “Yes, mi amor?”, Elisabeth looked expectantly at the little girl. Your daughter jumped up and down excitedly:” I’ll be a big sister soon!” “Oh, that’s amazing.”, the older woman cried out delighted.
Amused Alexia shook her head:” You knew the whole time, didn’t you?” “Yes, do you know how hard it was for me to keep my lips sealed?!” , her mother groaned. “You knew and you didn’t tell me?”
Apologetically you put a hand on your wife’s arm: “I told her to wait until your knee issue was solved.” “My knee won’t stop me from being a mum.”, Alexia protested with a crooked smile on her lips. Guiltily you bit your lip: “Sorry.” “That’s okay. Maybe I just needed this news today.”, the midfielder reassured you, pressing a heartfelt kiss on the top of your head.
Meanwhile Mapi declared:” I think it’s time for the first toast?” “Is it?”, Alexia turned surprised to one of her oldest friends in the team. Giddy with excitement the defender rose her glass: “Yes.”  “Alright then.”, she shrugged.
Mapi cleared her throat and announced with a solemn voice; “To Alexia and her family. May 2024 treat you well.“ You all clinked your glasses together. Alexia put a hand on Mapis arm; “Thank you, Mapi.“ “Yes, that was really sweet of you. Especially because 2023 had so many ups and downs.“, you nodded, glancing over to your wife.
The defender gave you a smile full of sympathy; “That’s why I hope this year will be better for you.“ “Thanks.“, you answered, grateful for the friendships in this team. Alexia put her arm around you, tipping her glass towards Mapi; “We appreciate it.“ “You’re welcome.“, her team mate smiled back happily.
The whole display and the thought of your family growing made you slightly emotional. “Love you girls.“, you whispered. Alexia pressed a kiss against your hair and replied; “I love you too.“ “I love you too, Mama and Mami.“, a tired voice added and your attention was immediately drawn back to Alexias phone.
Her screen showed a very tilted angle of your daughter with her eyes almost closed again as if she had fallen asleep with her abuelas phone in her tiny hand. “Sleep well, mi amor.“, your wife smiled before saying goodbye to her mother and ending the call.
Mapis eyes went soft; “She’s so cute. I just want to steal her when you two aren’t watching.“ “There’s no way you will get her!“, Alexia shook her head determinedly. “Damn it.“ Your wife laughed; “She loves you. But she wont leave us.“ “Exactly.“, you agreed. Mapi just shrugged; “I can live with that because I’m her favourite on the pitch.“
Alexia responded by punching Mapi against the upper arm to which the defender feigned a wounded look; “Ouch, that hurts, Ale.“ “That’s definitely a lie.“, your wife replied with an amused eye roll. “It’s not!“, Mapi protested.
You couldn’t stop yourself from grinning. Seeing Alexia smile and joke with her team mates again, made your heart flutter. “She loves you both.“, you interrupted them but silently you loved the bickering. Seeing your wife that happy again might have made your year.

Hope you’re doing okay! I love your fics and would like to request an alexia one if you don’t mind. Reader and alexia play for different teams and have been away from each other for a long time. First time they are able to see each other is on the pitch when their teams play against each other. Alexia is very clingy and can’t hold back from trying to have some kind of physical contact with reader. Reader thinks nothing of it until marking alexia during a free kick when she tries to take her hands off but alexia keeps holding them against her.

Getting to the semi-finals of the world cup with your team for the first time was nerve racking but in a good way, it brought a sense of enormous wellbeing to your lifelong dream.
One problem that came with it though was that you were going up against your girlfriend, whom you hadn’t seen in over a month, and it’d become a bittersweet reconnection.
You both already made your promises that what ever happens, happens and you’d both be proud of each other no matter the result. No bad feelings will be made.
Trailing out of the tunnel for a pitch inspection, you notice the faded, pink-haired woman straight away but seeming as it was in the eye of the public you didn’t over do the reuniting.
“Hola guapas.” You teased as you joined into the little barca circle they made, Frido trailing behind you.
Your eyes focused on the others first, cheekily grinning as you hugged them all before your attention was fully on Alexia.
She made the first move, crashing into your arms, her own tightly wrapping themselves around your waist. You swayed yourselves side to side slightly after you had snaked your arms around her neck, chin resting atop of her head.
You could hear the chatter around you from the other girls, giving you both a moment to share, to which you were thankful for.
“I’ve missed you.”
“So have i, so much.”
She leant backwards from the hug so she could look at you, eyes tracing your features as you stared back at her.
As she looked away she pouted, collapsing her head back on your chest.
“What’s wrong?” You giggled.
“I really want to kiss your right now.”
“I promise after the match, you can have me as much as you want.”
“But not for long..” She murmured, holding on to you tighter as if you’ll leave after her saying that.
“One of us will be able to support either of us in the final.. and then after that, you’ll have me to yourself.”
“Promise you’re okay with any outcome?”
“Prometo.”
You began to notice most of your team going in to start getting ready for the warm ups as Alexia clung to you, fingers locked together on the small of your back.
“Ale, i have to go now.” You mentioned as you tried to softly pull away, however someone kept their grip.
Your hands trailed around where her arms wrapped around you, reaching to where her own were and gently tried to peel them off.
“Ale..”
“No.” She quipped, almost like a toddler when their mum goes to leave them at little school.
“Älskling, i have to go. We’ll see each other later.”
Huffing, she reluctantly pulled away and you kissed her on the forehead as you said goodbye before rushing over to Frido.
“You’re whipped.”
“Callarte.”
Alexia found out she was starting the match this time instead of the bench, which meant that she got to be around you doing what she loved as well as playing. Instead of watching.
She lined up beside you in the tunnel and you smiled at her, the look in your eyes made her melt and you reached a hand out for her, which she took without a thought, squeezing it three times before letting go to walk out.
The match was essentially equal during the first half, neither countries getting the tail end of their chances and it got frustrating.
Fouls and corners were called one by one and your were usually fine dealing with them, but this time it was different.
You had a distraction.
As the minutes ticked, it felt like you had your eye on your girl every second either close or really close, she didn’t move out of your bubble.
You would have guessed her marking you wasn’t their strategy as it felt too personal.
A free kick was called for the swedes, from a bit outside the box, and you trailed closer towards the goal.
Tucking the loose strands of hair behind your ears, you rolled the hem of your shorts up and bent over your knees before you felt a pair of hands grab your waist, standing up straight and peeking over your shoulder you found who you thought the hold belonged too.
You lifted your arms up to your hips, covering her hands with yours, squeezing them to try and lift them off but only halfheartedly. The touch made you tingle.
Your breath grew heavier as she brought her chest closer to your back and you hoped the media didn’t catch the affect this moment was giving you, and you hoped she didn’t realise either.
You didn’t back down from the stake at hand though, managing to trick Alexia with your touch and get your head on the ball, however it flew wide.
Hands flying to your head, you huffed at the misfortune before turning around where Alexia was gazing at you, up and down.
You shook your head slightly, informing her to stop her intentions and ran back towards your end ready for the goal kick.
Spain’s attack came out of nowhere at one point and it left you, Zecira and the forward alone. You had managed to force her wide and she got ready for the cross before it deflected off your thigh, conceding a corner kick.
You trailed towards the box, and catching the eye of your girlfriend, you lifted your shirt up to wipe your face, nothing but intention to play her game also.
Halting beside her, you ruffled out your top to straighten it once again before moving your hand to the side behind Alexia, ready to defend against her.
When the ball crossed in, your touch brushed her ass and she froze, missing the chance completely. The ball seemingly finding its way back to the keeper for a goal kick.
“You play those games, don’t think that i’m not going to join in.” You winked at the now flustered spaniard before running back to your position to continue the match and this new game.

Hector had a day off before going back to training, so he took this as a chance to sleep in while settling in the arms of his girlfriend. However, she had other plans. She was an early bird, waking up by 8 in the morning. If she tried to move, Hector would wake up, and that's the last thing she wanted to do.
She turned in Hector's arms, resting his head on her chest and an arm draped over her waist. Sitting there for a few moments she got bored quickly. If she tries to reach over to her phone Hector will wake up.
Subconsciously, her fingers started tracing the tattoo which she adored oh so much on Hector's arm. Her fingertips moving softly on the ink on his skin. The small gesture made Hector stir a bit in his sleep. She didn't stop though. Her fingertips kept dancing on his skin until he opened his eyes and looked up at her.
"mhm buenos dias amor" he mumbled, his voice deep from the slumber he woke up from
"good morning baby" she said back, pressing a small kiss in his curls.
"how long have you been awake, why didn't you wake me up?" he asked her, sitting up a bit.
"you needed this sleep I didn't wanna disturb" she ran one hand through his curls, the other one still on his tattoos
"don't be silly, wake me up next time" he said, resting his head back on her chest
"you know I'm gonna add a tattoo for you" he said. y/n smiled and looked down at hi
"will you?" she asked, failing to hide her huge smile
"of course, and when we have kids I'll add a tattoo for them too" he looked up at her with a smile
she slapped his head gently in a joking manner, trying to hide her blushed cheeks. He chuckled softly at her actions
"I see you already planned our future have you?" she asked with sarcasm, a smile still on her face
'of course, I even planned the names of our kids, and the wedding and our house. don't worry everything is planned out" he said
y/n laughed and shook her head at him.
"tell me your plans" she urged him to speak
"well first of all if we have a girl she'll be called Lucia Alexia Fort. how does that sound?" he looked up, an excited smile on his face. Her heart melted and the joy and excitement on his face. She leaned down and pecked his lips a few times
"I like it, Lucia is such a cute name, why Alexia though?" she asked
"well just because she's a girl doesn't mean she's not gonna be playing football. Alexia just a motivation for her to be like Alexia Putellas" he said. y/n pouted at his explanation, realizing how lucky she got with her boyfriend
"aww you're so cute...I assume the boy's middle name will be Lionel right?" she asked, Hector sat up immediately and nodded his head
"yes! I'm not sure about the first name but Lionel is definitely there" he said, a wide smile spread on his face
y/n sat there, admiring how passionately Hector spoke about their future together. He kept talking about their wedding and house, while she admired every single feature in his face
"i love you" she interrupted him, making him raise his eyebrows, blood rushing into his cheeks. He dropped down on her chest, hiding his red face from her. She giggled softly, kissing the top of his head
"i love you too" he mumbled into her chest, refusing to look up at her

𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐏𝐭. 𝟒
𝖠𝗅𝖾𝗑𝗂𝖺 𝖯𝗎𝗍𝖾𝗅𝗅𝖺𝗌 𝗑 𝖱𝖾𝖺𝖽𝖾𝗋
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: swearing, mentions of smut (reader is in her redemption era 🙏!! Also should i just make this into a book and make it more interesting). 𝐏𝐭. 𝟓
After, Mapi talked to the staff she took me home and let me rest. Mapi called explained that you’ve recently been informed of a death in the family which was a 𝐥𝐢𝐞 but she bought you some time off. Fast forward 2 weeks i’ve been doing better and thriving with the help of Mapi. Our friendship has stronger and we’ve gotten close, really close. We’ve formed almost a special bond I can’t explain.
We sometimes go out for coffee and out for lunch, and enjoy ourselves. Me and Mapi just get along in a special, way. Alexia has tried reaching out many times, I haven’t entertained her since the incident, at practice but i’ve been curious. There’s nothing she could possibly do to fix this.
I’ve been focusing on myself lately, i’ve actually found a good shrink by the help of Mapi. There’s a lot of things that i have to unlock about what happened, with me, and Alexia and my past. There’s no words to explain how thankful i am for Mapi. Me and Mapi were having a cordial conversation with each other wise making dinner for later tonight we were interrupted by my phone beginning to ring our smiles dropped.
Me and the tattooed woman looked at each other wondering who could possibly be calling me. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, i picked up my phone and saw Alexia’s name on my phone.
I let out a deep sigh in frustration and declined the call and rolled my eyes and put my phone on ‘𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐛’ and brushed it off as nothing, as i tried to go back to normal. Mapi paused and stared at you trying to gauge your expression.
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 ?“ You said when you caught her dark brown eyes on you. “𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 ?“ she said nodding to herself laughing shaking her head in disbelief. “𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡“ you said shaking your head waving her off with your hands.
“𝐍𝐨 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 ’𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠’ 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥, 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝?!? 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭“ the tattooed woman said waving her hands in the air showing her frustration and expression. You nodded your head in agreement and sighed, the next thing you were about to say was something you were dreading
“𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩“ You said keeping your head down afraid of what Mapi had to say about this. You were met with silence, you looked up to see Mapi thinking about what you said “𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 ?! 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝..𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?“ You said
“𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞“ the blonde said grabbing your face in her palms, “𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐢 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢’𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞“ she said finally smiling. This meant the world to you, “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭“ you said as you pulled her in a hug. Stuck in you guys daze you smelt something burning.
“𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐢 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠“ Both of you let out a loud laugh and you continued to make dinner. Fast forward to later that night, after you to finished dinner and cleaned up, you decided that then and there was the time to contact Alexia and tell her you were up to hear what she had to say. You and Mapi sat on the couch with your phone in hand.
You let in a deep breath and let it out calming yourself for this moment not wanting a repeat of last time. Mapi rubbing your back for extra support. You opened your phone and saw the many missed calls from Alexia and many text from the night you left. Your eyes wide like saucers looking at the behavior of Alexia.
This didn’t impress you, that was your step forward as a person, this energy should’ve been in the relationship a long ago maybe this wouldn’t have happened. You looked at Mapi the same expression written all over her face, you pressed Alexia’s contact and called her. Letting the phone ring waiting for Alexia to answer.
You looked at Mapi and said “𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤-“ and you were quickly cut off by Alexia’s voice cutting in saying “𝐁-𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 ?! 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ?! 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐢’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia speaking fast everything she said coming out as word vomit, she was so shocked that you answered that she didn’t even let the phone dial after 3 times. “𝐇-𝐡𝐢 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚“ You said still shocked by how fast everything’s going.
“𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫“ Mapi said in a whisper, i side eyed her and nodded my head putting it on speaker. “𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫. 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞?“ She said, “𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚 𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 “𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞“ 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚, 𝐢 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝“ you said explaining yourself to Alexia.
“𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚“ Alexia said in a exaggerated tone making the blonde woman beside you roll her eyes in annoyance. “𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬“ you said with a sigh “𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝟐 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia said, after she said that it made Mapi angry, she was about to give Alexia a peace of her mind.
You prevented that by saying “𝐎𝐤𝐚𝐲𝐲 𝐛𝐲𝐞“ and ended the call before Mapi could say anything. “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥“ Mapi said shaking her head and rolling her eyes, she looked at you holding in your laugh, you started bursting out laughing like crazy, Mapi started laughing to at the craziness of everything.
Sometimes you just needed a good laugh after the hardship you’ve been through. Fast forward 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚. Today was the day to talk to Alexia, she even texted me to remind me and made sure to call, we decided to meet a local coffee shop near by. I got ready putting a simple black nike track sweatpants track suit and made my way into my car to go and meet up with alexia.
I saw Alexia sitting at the table with two cups in her hands, as i got out of my car and came towards the table. “𝐇𝐢 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐚“ you said getting her attention off her phone. “𝐇𝐢, 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞“ she said with a nice smile on her face holding the drink up on the air for you to grab.
“𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐀𝐥𝐞, 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤“ You said with a half smile it brought a fuzzy feeling in your chest that she even remembered what your favorite drink it, but this didn’t mean anything nor take back the stuff she said or did to me. “𝐍𝐨, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐲/𝐧 𝐢 𝐨𝐰𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐨 𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.“
You nodded in response as both of you sat down. Alexia cleared her throat and rubbed her hands together and looked up and down at you. You raised one of your eyebrows nodding your head in encouragement for her to speak. “𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚, 𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐢 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ she said pausing finding it hard to find her next words looking down, dropping her gaze. “𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐲/𝐧-“, i started to lose focus getting lost in my head.
Everything Alexia said sounded muffled and my eyes started to blur with tears, as one fell out my eyes rolling down my cheek. “𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐲/𝐧, 𝐢’𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲“ Alexia’s voice coming back to focus sniffling wiping her tears looking down the table for a napkin. You wiped your face and sniffled looking around trying to find something more interesting.
“𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐱 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐲/𝐧“ Alexia said breaking the silence, you’d scoffed shaking your head in disbelief as to what she was saying. “𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 ? 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫?“ You said with venom in your face, making Alexia look up with a frown on her face “𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐲/𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠“ Alexia said.
You nodded your head trying to take everything in, “𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬“ She said reaching for your hand on the table but you slowly pulled away shaking your head ‘no’ “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞“ you said answering to her.
The blonde in front of you nodded in agreement “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭“ Alexia said with determination in her voice moving forward almost like she was telling you a secret. You looked down and checked your phone for the time seeing a message from Mapi that read “𝐈 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚<𝟑” you smiled at your phone and looked up and decided it was time to head home.
“𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 ? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤“ you started getting up gathering your stuff. Alexia got up and said, “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮“ Alexia said with a smile as she reached in for a unaccepted hug which made you stiffen from shock as you grabbed one hand to pat her back to say ‘All done get off me’. She smiled and walked off.
You 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 to tell Mapi about this.
𝐎𝐦𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐝. !!🥳

Don't know if you've seen the Videos of Alexia at the airport getting followed by paps. Would you write a fic where reader is also playing on the national team and is together with Alexia. Maybe Reader is just as famous as Alexia. When Alexia gets swamed by paps (which by the way reader hates cameras) reader all but drags Alexia through the crowd. And after making sure Alexia is ok she gives the paps an ear full about being a bit nicer.
Respect (Alexia Putellas x reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: I can’t even begin to imagine what the girls must be feeling right now. The most horrible situation to be put in. Those girls are truly the biggest inspirations to everyone! 🫶
The situation was absolutely impossible. Alexia knew that, you knew that, your teammates knew hell the whole world knew that. You watch Alexia retype the statement over and over again, you can’t possibly fathom how she manages to fit the injustice of what’s happened in one A4 page.
Alexia has been silently seething since the call up, you didn’t think she could get angrier but you were proven wrong when Patri and Mapi’s name popped up.
You walk over to your exhausted girlfriend hoping to offer some comfort, “Baby, you need to get some sleep.” Your arms rest on her shoulders as you watch the fight leave Alexia’s body.
“I don’t know what to do.” Your girlfriend looked to you for an answer knowing that you wouldn’t have one either. Instead of telling her it will be okay, you try to offer as much support as you possibly could.
Your head was absolutely pounding with all the thoughts running through your head. The anger was always there, it never really left. Even hearing the name of that fucking federation sends you into a frenzy that you try to contain.
The fear was new, sure you had always known that the RFEF were an absolute piece of shit but you never thought it would get this far. You were nearly positive that it ended with Rubiales and Vilda going down but you know that was naive thinking.
After hours of deliberation, you and Alexia knew that there was no other choice but to go. Your career wasn’t something you were overly worried about knowing that you had made the most of it while you could but the thought of leaving the younger girls behind to suffer scared you more than anything the RFEF could ever do to you.
That’s how you find yourself walking through the airport, the arm wrapped around your waist tightens as Alexia spots the press hoping to god she would somehow be able to find the both of you invisible.
You stayed close to your girlfriend, you had never been a fan of the cameras even more so now when you’ve been forced into this situation.
Alexia stayed calm knowing that her getting angry would help no one, her main priority right now was getting you through the mob of people safely, it was the only thing she could control at the moment.
“Just breathe, Mi amor. Ignore them.” You hear Alexia whisper as she places a reassuring kiss to the crown of your head, wanting to just get it over with as she walks towards the media.
The minute they catch sight of the two of you, you’re swarmed. You tuck yourself impossibly close to the blonde, you try to calm yourself down at the amount of questions they throw your way.
Alexia keeps her eyes forward, occasionally glancing at you making sure the reporters keep their hands to themselves. You hear Alexia respond calmly to a few questions thrown her way but you can see that your girlfriend is quickly getting overwhelmed.
No one else would be able to tell with the mask she’s perfected over the years but you can see the slight panic in her eyes as they dart around the place.
You know that her arm that’s wrapped around your waist is as comforting for her as it is for you, you discreetly place your own hand over hers letting her know you were okay.
She glances down at you nearly tripping over a stray lead of a camera, she immediately apologises and your heart aches at how good your girlfriend is even in this horrific situation.
As your gate finally comes into sight, you hear her answer to one particular question, “How are you feeling?”
“Well bad.” Your heart shatters at her defeated tone, you know this has been slowly eating away at her. There is only so much pretending one person can do and you know she’s quickly reaching her limit.
They give you room to breathe once you have finally reached your gate, she waits for you to go first but you insist that she does as she has her details ready on her phone.
She shoot’s you a grateful yet slightly worried smile, not feeling secure with leaving you behind even if it’s for less than a minute. You kiss her cheek letting her know that you’d be fine and also to thank her for unnecessarily taking the brunt of the press.
You watch her walk through the gate and once she’s out of sight you turn to cameras, the rage that you had tried to put aside for your teammates' sakes flamed up at the sight of your distressed girlfriend.
The press catches on to the fact that you haven’t followed the older girl and immediately fires questions at you. You ignore every single one of them wanting to make sure they understand every single word you are about to say.
“We are in an impossible situation, one you couldn’t even imagine. The last thing we need is you people sticking your cameras into our faces when you don’t know the half of it. I will not stand here and watch as you create more false accusations to add fuel to the already massive fire. Alexia is an absolute saint for putting up with all this shit give her some room to fucking breathe and have some respect for this horrific situation we have been put in.”
You don’t think you have ever spoken to a camera as much as you just have, you knew there could be some repercussions but you find yourself not caring as the tension eases just a little bit.
The press have gone dead silent, no doubt in shock as they witness your normally shy and composed persona switch before their eyes.
With one last deadly glare you make your own way through the gate, desperate to get away from their prying eyes but also desperate to feel your girlfriend's touch.
“What took you so long? I was getting worried.” You felt slightly guilty seeing the concern on the already stressed girl's face. You cup her face soothingly as you press a soft kiss to her lips. She visibly relaxes as her hands find your hips, “Are you okay?” You nearly cry at the question, how can she ask you that when she has the weight of the national team on her shoulders.
“I am now that you are here.” She cracks the first genuine smile of the day, holding you close to her as she relaxes knowing no one is watching.
“We are going to get through this, Alé. I promise you.” You reassure as you tuck your face into her neck, she rubs a hand down your back, “I’m not going to stop fighting.” You sigh knowing that she would destroy herself if it meant everyone else would be okay, the love you feel for the brave, selfless woman overpowers every other feeling.
With one more firm kiss you make her another promise, “And I’ll be with you every step of the way.”

I am an adult
Hi. So, this is an idea that I've been working on. I hope you enjoy it. <3
Barca Femeni x Reader
Part 1 : Part 2 : Part 3 : Part 3.5 : Part 4
TW: none
Word Count: 3.4k
Description: R is tired of being treated like a child
Tumblr media
Being the youngest in the club by quite some years when you first join the club is hard. You were 15 when you put pen to paper, debuting for your national team at 16. You automatically inherited about 40 big sisters at club and country, with all their wisdom, love, and overprotectiveness. It was adorable … at first. You couldn’t fault them for their heart. You knew they meant well. But you were ready to strangle them by the time you turned 18. You had been given offers from all over the world as your contract ended. It was a difficult choice to leave your team; most of them you considered family. But it wasn’t a difficult choice to sign for Barcelona.
You had hoped that as you left your home and started a new chapter in life, you could prove that you weren’t a child anymore. But it quickly became apparent that that wasn’t the case. Alexia hovered, Lucy fussed, Marta fretted, and Irene worried. You had originally moved in with Alexia, which was lovely initially. She helped you organise the parts of your life that were new to you – organising your weekly shopping list, helping manage your finances, and coordinating your schedules. But as the years went by, you think she forgot that you were no longer the barely legal adult who needed help with many things. You think they all forgot.
The first incident that made you slightly pissed off was in the changing rooms. The music was loud, and you were too busy grinding on Pina to notice the looks from Lucy and Marta. You were celebrating another spectacular win, you scoring a hat trick and Patri and Salma scoring braces. You had taken your sweaty shirt off and swung it around your head as you turned to press yourself against Bruna, all 3 of you laughing as you ran your hands down your body, shaking your hips sensually. As the song ended, you were all in fits of laughter, clutching your stomachs and breathing hard.
“Where did you learn to dance like that?” Ona asked, her arms wrapping around your waist as you slung an arm around her shoulders.
“Oh, shut up. You’ve seen me dance plenty of times,” You joked as you kissed her forehead.
“You’ve been out dancing?” Lucy asked. She didn’t like the sound of that. You were too young to go out.
“Yeh, we went out a few weeks ago,” Ona told her.
“Who is we?” Alexia frowned.
“Um … me, Ona, Patri, Pina, Jana, Bruna, Esmee, Aitana,” you rattled off their names, counting them on your fingers as you went. Basically, it was all the young ones who could legally drink. It had been an entertaining night. No one was telling you to calm it down. No one breathed down your neck as you chatted to random strangers. No one was hovering. It was fantastic. You had spent most of the next day with your head over the toilet and feeling very sorry for yourself. But it was worth it. You wouldn’t let them dampen your spirits over that night. Lucy was frowning hard; Alexia also gave an angry glare. “What?” You asked, confused about why you were having disapproving scowls sent your way.
“You’re too young,” Lucy said as she turned away. You huffed, muttering under your breath as you headed to the showers. You were starting to get irritated with their behaviour.
The second time they made you angry was when you stumbled home from a night-in with Pina and Patri. You had chatted away the evening over good food and wine. It was a lovely night, bringing you even closer to the pair of best friends. What you hadn’t been aware of, however, was Lucy and Alexia, and Marta, and Caro, and Paños, and Irene. They all blew up your phone, asking where you were and what you were doing. Alexia had asked Lucy to come over as she noticed you looked a little less like yourself. You were acting short with her, not really acknowledging her when she gave her (unwanted) input on what you were doing and with whom you were doing it. She had hoped that Lucy could help you navigate what was going on. As Alexia opened your bedroom door, without knocking – once again – she was met with a slightly messy but very empty room with a pile of clothes on the floor near the hamper. She must tell you that you need to do your washing.
“Lucy,” Alexia had called out in a panic. You weren’t anywhere else in the house. She didn’t know where you were. She had promised your parents all those years ago that she would look after you. “She’s gone. She’s not here. She’s missing. Should we phone the police?” She grew more and more desperate with every passing moment.
“Right. Calm down, alright? She couldn’t have gone far. She can’t drive,” she was wrong – you could drive; you even had your own car, but the older team members refused to let you go anywhere without them or let you behind the wheel if they were in the car. “Let’s check her location, yeh?” You had asked her repeatedly to delete the app from her phone. She had ignored your wishes, telling you that due to your age, someone should always know your whereabouts. “See, she’s at Patri’s. She’s fine.” The pair took calming breaths together. As the hours ticked by and it seemed like you were making no appearance any time soon, more people were called to come and wait for you. First, it was Marta and Caro and then Paños after another hour and finally Irene after another 2. It was 3 am when you stumbled into the house, slightly wine-drunk but more or less sober.
“What time do you call this?” Alexia’s voice called out from the shadows. It was angry; you didn’t need to see her face to know that her signature glare was etched on it.
“Oh, I didn’t think you’d be awake,” you commented, moving into the kitchen and flicking the lights on as you went. You jumped slightly as you were faced with four other women, all of whom were in similar states of anger and disapproval. "Jesus Christ. What did you do? Throw a party or something?”
“A search party more like. You snuck out.” Irene commented, folding her arms over her chest and giving you her best Mum look.
“Is it really sneaking out if I leave through the front door?” you countered, filling a glass with water and looking in the medicine box under the sink. “Do we have any paracetamol?” you asked absentmindedly, not quite realising just how angry the group was.
“Why do you need paracetamol, kid?” Lucy asked, knowing the answer already but not wanting the confirmation.
“Oh, I had a few drinks with Patri and Pina. Wanna have them in my room with some water for tomorrow if I need them,” you said, letting out a small ‘aha’ when you found the medicine you were looking for.
“You’ve been drinking?” Marta screeched.
“Yeh?” You drew out the word, slightly too tipsy for this conversation.
“What? That’s it, you’re grounded. For-” Alexia stormed forwards.
“You can’t ground me, Alexia,” you said incredulously, standing up and facing her. You may be younger, but you were slightly taller than her. “I’m not a child.”
“How da-” she started, raising her voice at you. You held up a hand, cutting her off. You were mightily fed up with her behaviour as of late. You clicked your teeth.
“I’m going to bed.” You sighed, pushing past the group standing in the hallway and stomping up the stairs.
“Don’t you dare slam your-” She shouted but was cut off by a harsh slam.
By the third time, you were ready to scream. Or commit murder. You weren’t too fussed – whichever got them to stop. After the night with Patri and Pina, Alexia tried to ban you from doing anything outside of training. You had raised one eyebrow at her and walked straight out the door. She was shocked, to say the least. Where was this attitude coming from? She had been nothing but nice to you, helping you out when she thought you needed it and offering advice when you looked a little stressed. She had had enough of your door slamming and locking the door. So, she did the only thing she could think of. You walked back into the house with Ona by your side, chatting away about the coffee shop you wanted to try. You could hear the faint whirring of power tools coming from upstairs. It was a known fact that Alexia hated building flat-pack furniture, so you went to investigate – beckoning for Ona to follow, thinking it would be funny to see the disaster that Alexia was making. The sight that met you had you screaming and shouting. Alexia was taking your bedroom door off its hinges.
“What the fuck?” You shouted, anger your dominant emotion.
“Language!” She said calmly as she finished with the final nail.
“Seriously, what the actual fuck, Alexia? You’re taking my door off?”
“Sí. You kept slamming it. I told you not to slam the door. And it’s not your door. It’s mine. I own the house.”
“In that case, when do you want me to move out? Can I have a few hours to pack?” She scoffed, thinking you were bluffing. You were most certainly not bluffing. You looked over to Ona, standing at the top of the stairs, slightly embarrassed at witnessing the clearly private situation.
“You are too young to move out, cariño. Once you learn to respect those who are trying to help you, I’ll put the door back on,” she said simply, pushing the door onto its side and moving past you. “Hi, Ona,” she said sweetly.
You immediately gathered up a suitcase full of clothes and forced Ona to take you to her place. Spending time in an environment where you weren’t treated as a child only grew your resentment towards others. You loved being treated as the adult that you were. You spent a few nights with Ona before moving to Patri’s and Pina’s. You had ignored all the older girls' efforts to talk to you. They still muttered and moaned about how you weren’t old enough and that they were only trying to help, to do what was best for you. Eventually, you decided you needed your own place – sleeping on couches and pull-out beds was not good for your body.
“Um, I just wanted to let you know I’m moving out. Officially.” You approached Alexia one morning in the gym. It had been about a month, and you still hadn’t returned to her house. Everyone’s anger had been building up slowly.
“No. Absolutely not.” Alexia shut you down immediately.
“Ale,” you sighed. This wasn’t Alexia’s choice. You had already found a place nearer to the training centre. It was cute with old, patterned tiled flooring and exposed brick.
“No. You're too young to live by yourself.” You sighed, not willing to argue about this again.
“Ale, I … I’ve already got a place. I’ve put a deposit down already. I am moving out,” you sheepishly. The look of horror on her face was laughable. You would have thought you said you were skinning Nala and using her fur as clothing. “Um…” She held up a hand, stopping you from speaking. You had only really told her out of courtesy. You had been back to her house several times when she wasn’t home, slowly packing your stuff. The wardrobes were basically empty already; you just had to take down the decorations. It wasn’t like you had many up anyway. You had always thought of it as you sleeping in Alexia’s spare room; it was never yours. And you didn’t want it to be. You tried to speak again, but she just waved you off, turning on her heels and walking away, shaking her head.
After you had officially moved out, training was more awkward than ever. The older players constantly switched between throwing you sympathetic glances, angry glares, and disappointed looks. You had tried not to let it bother you. It honestly didn’t … for a while. In the beginning, it was nothing you weren’t used to. And then they were muttering about you within earshot. Talking amongst themselves over how rude you had been, they had only tried to help you. You were too young, and you were being disrespectful towards them. It really began to bother you, not to the point where your training and playing were affected, but in your personal life. The team had a definite rift, and you were starting to think you were the cause of it.
It was a random Monday morning when things finally came to a head.
“Oh my god!” Bruna squealed as you lifted your top up and over your head. “What are those, Miss Y/S/N?”
“What are what?” You were very confused. Jana gasped as she also spotted something, pointing at your chest. Hickeys. A line of dark purple splotches littered your chest and stomach.
“Fuck. She said she wouldn’t leave marks.” You groaned. You had gone out on Saturday night after the match with some of the younger girls and ended up leaving with a random girl. It was fun; she had stayed the night, and you had made her a coffee the following day before going your separate ways.
“Was she a vampire, Jesus?” Ona laughed, trying to poke at one of the particularly dark ones.
“Oi,” you battered her hand away, laughing all the same. “I’ve seen the aftermaths of your nights out, young lady. You have no leg to stand on,” laughing harder at the blush blooming on her cheeks.
“What. Are. Those?” Alexia boomed, bringing silence over your little group.
“Um, hickeys?” You answered, already tired of her controlling attitude.
“And how did you get them?” She replied. You raised an eyebrow at her.
“You had sex?” Lucy chimed in, disbelieving you.
“Yeh?” Her eyes widened; you were too young to be having sex. She opened her mouth to speak again. “If you’re about to give me the sex talk, don’t bother. That ship sailed long ago.” That stunned her. You had had sex on multiple occasions? She could feel her brain melting slightly.
“When?” Caro asked quietly, unsure whether she wanted to know that particular answer.
“Before I even came to Barca. I’d just signed my first contract. It was a friend from back home, it was nice. We’re still mates, so,” you filled her and the rest of the changing room in – totally open to confessing when you lost your virginity.
“You are too young to-” Alexia started, planning on berating you for your choices.
“Oh, shut up, Alexia.” You shouted. If you thought the changing room was quiet earlier, you could hear a pin drop now. No one shouted at Alexia. Ever. There were a few supercharged seconds. You refused to break eye contact with her. “I am not. Too. Young. I am a fully grown adult. You need to start realising that.” You looked around. “You all do.” You grabbed a random t-shirt and stormed out of the room.
The room was deadly silent. No one dared speak; no one dared even move for fear of retribution. At least Caro had the decency to look a little ashamed; everyone else was fuming.
A bang on the door broke the silence. “Apresúrate,” Jonatan shouted. The younger girls quickly gathered their stuff and rushed out, keeping their heads low and eyes trailing on the ground.
“That little-” Lucy started.
“Enough.” Ingrid cut her off. Ingrid had seen the way they had been treating you. She had heard the comments about how they deemed you too young to do normal things for a young adult to do. “All of you, enough.” They had never heard Ingrid shout before – irritated, sure, pissed off, yes, angry, never. “I am sick and tired of seeing how you treat that woman. She might have joined the team when she was young. But she is now an adult. And you refuse to see her as such. No wonder she snapped.” Alexia tried to cut in. “No, Ale. I know you mean well; you all do. I don’t doubt that. But you have told her off for going out, for drinking, for having sex. These are all normal things. She is safe, and she is happy. Surely, that is all that matters? If it was me, I would have snapped long, long ago. You are lucky; all she did was shout at you.” She turned to get her things. “Don’t come outside until you’ve thought about how to make this right with her,” Ingrid commanded as she stormed off.
The group was initially angry, ranting and raging over your behaviour, then they were slightly less angry with you and more at themselves. Eventually, they were silent, reflecting on how poorly they treated you. Alexia was the guiltiest. She felt so mortified over her treatment of you. Yes, you were a child when you first joined, but now you were a young woman who wanted her own life. They didn’t know how to apologise to you. As they traipsed into training, you refused to look at them.
Over the next few days, you didn’t acknowledge their presence at all. If they approached you in the canteen, you swiftly moved away. If they tried to pair up with you at training, you ran off before they could ask. They had tried to corner you in the changing rooms, but you had slipped out the door before they could move. You couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of it all. You had been pleading with them for months, years even, to treat you like an adult and yet, no, you were acting like a stroppy child.
It eventually became too much for the surrounding team, however, as Patri innocently shouted across the room that you would be at home tonight, alone. And Jana had openly yelled back with your full address, watching with quiet amusement as Lucy scribbled it down.
The knock on your door surprised you. It was only 7pm, not too late for anyone to come over, but no one had asked you or told you they would be making an appearance at your home. You didn’t bother looking through the little glass window as you threw open the door, about to question whoever it was. You froze when you were greeted with the sight of Alexia, Lucy, Marta, Caro and Paños. They had various looks of embarrassment on their faces, and Alexia had a big bouquet of your favourite flowers.
“What?” You asked, not really in the mood for them and any efforts they might have to persuade you to move back in with Alexia.
“Can we come in?” Paños asked. You sighed, knowing you would rather not have this conversation in front of your neighbours. Stepping aside, you eyed them carefully as they stepped into your flat.
“I like your place,” Lucy said awkwardly as you all came to rest at the kitchen table.
“Thanks.” You said bluntly, not really in the mood for this.
“Y/N,” Alexia spoke up. “I … we … I would like to apologise for, well, everything. We … I should have recognised that you are not a child. I am truly sorry.”
“Ok …” you looked between the group, all of them echoing similar sentiments.
“Ok? That’s it?” Marta was a little shocked that you were letting them off the hook so quickly.
“Do you want me to be mad at you? Cos, I’ll happily go back to ignoring you.” You answered. “All I ask is that you treat me like the adult I am. Yes, I go out. Yes, I get drunk. Yes, I have casual sex. Yes, I have one-night stands. All of these are normal adult things. The others do the same, yet you don’t jump on their backs about it. I’m just asking for you to treat me the way you treat them … like an adult.”
It was a slow process, and a few stray comments were still muttered under their breaths, but you could see they were trying. That’s all you could ask for—that they tried.
I hope you enjoyed it. I wasn't quite sure how to end it - if you couldn't tell ahahaha <3 There may be a pt2

warnings: brief mentioning of injuries
31 January 2021
FCB Femení vs. Real Madrid Femenino 4 :1
Goal scorers: Putellas (14), Hermoso (23), Oshoala (37, 70), Olga (81 p.)
With an amused smirk on her face Alexia Putellas put an arm around her friend’s shoulder:” Who are you looking at Jenni?” “No one.”, Jenni Hermoso replied, trying to hide the fact that the question of the midfielder caught her off guard as she was looking at a Real Madrid playing from afar. Another fellow teammate Irene Paredes who knew her all too well intervened laughing:” Lies.”
“Just checking out the opponent.”, the black-haired woman brushed it off smiling confidently. Unconvinced Alexia teased her: “Oh sure, miss professional.” “What?!”, Jenni pretended to be shocked. The defender nodded:” You’re checking her out, right Ale?” “Yeah, she is.”, the younger player agreed.  “Excuse me, chicas?”, the striker acted outraged. Seeing her friend having such an obvious crush on the opponent was very entertaining for Alexia who winked at her:” You’re excused. She’s kinda pretty.” “Thanks.”, Jenni answered, running through her hair with one hand.
Loosing the first league El Clásico at home in Madrid with 4:0 made you even more hungry to challenge the Barcelona Women’s team now, especially because as a defender the received goals hurt you a lot. Without a question your motivation on this cold January was very high, nothing was better than revenge in the sport you loved. Meanwhile Ivana Andrés brought you back to the present moment, wiggling her eyebrows:” You’re being watched.” “By whom?”, surprised you turned your head to follow her gaze which was directed at the Barca players on the other side of the pitch.
Spotting them you shrugged it off:” Oh, I won’t make it easy for Jenni that’s for sure.” “Don’t worry, if she keeps staring at you during the game, you’ve got nothing to do.”, Olga Carmona commented grinning. Excited the older woman with the dark curls added:” Who knew you’d be our secret weapon?” “Girls.”, you blushed deeply, knowing full well that the other team was highly favoured, and you needed more than that to take them out of their game.
A loud sigh escaped Olga’s lips:” Okay, fine. We’ll see how the game’s going.”  “Let’s win this.”, you brought back some optimism. Satisfied with the remark the youngest defender of the three of you said: “Please.”
That the game did not start well for your team was an understatement, you were starting to swim when Alexia scored in the 14th minute. Still, you tried to hold your teammates together:” Held your head high girls, we still have enough time to turn that game around.”
The chance to score the equalizer was presented to the Real Madrid team through a corner kick. While Olga was getting ready to shoot, you were positioning yourself in the penalty area. A flirty voice which you knew belonged to Jenni whispered into your ear: “Hey, pretty girl.”
You didn’t even have to turn around. Jennis body pressed against your back to prevent you from having too much space. A lazy smirk appeared on your face; “If that’s your way to distract defenders, it won’t be working.“ “It won’t?“, she whispered, her lips close to your ear but your eyes stayed focused on Olga, who was taking a few steps back and kicked the ball.
You ran a few steps, leaving Jenni standing and jumped up but the ball was too high. It barely grazed the top of your head and bounced down in front of a Barcelona defender who kicked the ball wide. As you sprinted back to get into your position, you passed Jenni who winked at you; “Or maybe it did work.“ You shook your head in annoyance. Alexia bumped her shoulder to Jennis, nodding into your direction; “What did you say to her?“ “Oh, nothing important.“
You conceded the second goal barely ten minutes later. Your slide tackle came too late, Jennis ball already hit the back of the net. You were cursing under your breath while you got up from the grass. Ivana appeared next to you, patting your back; “Head up.“ “But…“ She gave a you a quick head shake that made you shut up instantly; “It’s okay. It happens.“ “Alright. The game is not over yet.“, you nodded determinedly after a deep breath. Olga smiled weakly; “That’s what we want to hear.“
To your disappointment, the game ended with a 4:1. You grimaced while the final whistle blew and the Barcelona players ran towards each other, celebrating their win. You tried to ignore them while you made your way across the pitch to your tired and upset teammates and didn’t realise that Jenni had left her team. “Jenni, where are you going? We want to celebrate with the fans.“, Mapi called her back. The striker waved her back; “Go ahead. I’ll be with you in a minute.“
She followed you to the other side of the pitch where you pulled up Olga from the turf; “Olga, don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re young and we’ll learn from that. Next time it’ll be better. Promise.“ The other player nodded silently and was pulled into a hug by Ivana. You turned around and found yourself face to face with Jenni; “You.“ “Yes, hi. Good game.“, she smiled at you. You wrinkled your nose in response; “Thanks but you don’t have to lie.“ “I don’t.“ “So, why are you not celebrating with your team?“, you asked, getting slightly annoyed. Jenni shrugged; “I was going to. I just wanted to tell you that.“
“Don’t you want to have her number too? Or her jersey?“, Olga piped up with a laugh. “Olga!“, you scolded her. But Jenni gave her an appreciative smiled; “Actually a good idea. I’d like both.“ “You’re even more greedy than I thought, Hermoso.“, you rolled your eyes. Unimpressed, Jenni looked at you; “Will you give it to me now?“ “Yes, if you give me yours in return.“ “Fair, enough.“, she laughed, pulling her jersey over her head.
“Because it’s getting really cold.“, you added, handing her your own shirt. Jenni laughed; “Oh, please. Here you go.“ “Thank you.“ Olga provided you with a piece of paper and a pen so that you could note down your phone number. You shoved the note into Jennis hand and pushed her away with a grin; “Now go back to your teammates!“ “On my way.“, she winked at you before disappearing between the other Barcelona players.
In December you were supposed to play again against Barcelona. After your match in January Jenni and you became a couple. During the phone call with your now girlfriend, she asked you what you wished for this Christmas you both were supposed to celebrate in Madrid. A soft chuckle escaped your lips:” What I want for Christmas, mi amor? A win against your team of course.”
“Something more realistic, please.”, the tattooed Spanish woman laughed. Playfully dramatic you gasped for air: “More realistic?” “Like a unicorn or a dragon. I can make that happen. But not a win against us.”, with your eyes closed you could see her shaking her head. “Rude.”, you huffed.
Softly Jenni replied: “It’s true though.”  “See you there.”, you answered. Cheerfully she chirmed:” Good luck.”  “Not to you.”, you teased her. You could imagine the dark-haired woman grimacing:” Thanks. Appreciate it.”
You both ended your call with how much you loved each other while you could see your neighbours putting up their fairy lights on their terrace bringing light into the darkness. Maybe that beam of light shone Madrid to a win against their rival.
12 December 2021
Real Madrid Femenino vs. FCB Femení 1 :3
Goal scorers: Martens (8, 23), Paredes (18), Asllani (52)
Sadly, your hopeful dreams were quickly trampled on by Lieke Martens who shot two goals quickly, so did Irene Paredes. In the second half Kosovare Asllani scored but that did not change that Real Madrid lost once again against Barcelona.
The defeat was audible in your voice as you turned your back to Jenni:” No, leave me alone, Jenni.” “Oh, come on.”, the forward tried to console you.  Cooly Olga intervened:” Go.” “Calm down! Not my fault that you lost.”, the Barcelona player shouted furiously. “No, but it’s no fun, let me tell you that.”, you muttered. Surprised you looked up to your girlfriend who handed you a small gift:” It’s still 12 days to go until Christmas.” “Yeah, I know. Maybe it cheers you up.”, Jenni shrugged her shoulders. Carefully you touched the bow holding the small package together:” Do you want me to open it right now?” “Whenever you want.”
Swiftly you opened the present:” A key?” “Not just any key.”, the forward explained seriously. Rolling her eyes Olga commented drily:” If you’re saying that this is the key to your heart I’m going to vomit.” That was the moment Ivana dragged the younger defender away from you. In an honest tone your girlfriend said smirking: “I’m not that romantic.” “It’s to your place.”, you realized.
Clearing her throat, she nodded: “It’s.”  “You trust me that much?”, you asked moved.  Warmly the older woman giggled: “I do trust you that you won’t come into my house and steal all my stuff.” “Yeah, I won’t do that.”, you admitted with an amused smile on your lips.
Uncharacteristically nervous Jenni went through her hair with one hand: “You can choose when you want to come or leave that way.” “Sorry, I was so harsh to you earlier.”, you apologized. Earnestly she looked at you: “It’s okay. You’ve got your key now. If you need to be alone, that’s fine but if you want to come to my place, you know how.”  “I appreciate it.”, you gave her a kiss on the cheek. Hopefulness bloomed in your girlfriend’s face: “I’ll see you later. Or maybe not.”
Jenni was at her place when you used the key to her door for the first time. “Hi.“, you said quietly. Jenni looked up; “Oh, hi.“ “You said I could come, so…“, you started. Jenni smiled; “Yes, of course. Don’t stand in the door. Come in.“ You slipped in and let the door fall closed behind you; “I’m coming.“ You followed your girlfriend into her kitchen. Jenni looked at you thoroughly; “Sorry about earlier.“ “No, you said a win was not realistic.“, you shook your head.
Your girlfriends eyebrows knotted together; “I was joking. Anything can happen in football.“ “That’s true. I still believe this club could challenge yours one day…“, you thought out loud. “I’m sure you will. Real Madrid’s womens team is still young.“ With a sigh, you sat down at her kitchen table; “Right… Is it okay if we don’t talk about the game tonight?“ “Of course.“ Jenni sat down with you. “Thanks.“
As promised, Jenni changed the topic effortlessly; “Did you have dinner yet?“ “No, what about you?“, you replied. The striker shook her head; “I was about to order something but I couldn’t decide. Do you want to pick?“ A smile spread across your face; “From our usual place?“ “Sure.“
13 March 2022

The next El Clasicó was played in March. Barcelona once again didn’t make it easy for Real Madrid. In the 60th minute, you had the chance to break through. You made a run for the ball but as you turned, you could feel a pop and a sharp pain in your knee. You immediately went down while the ball rolled out of play.
Alexia dragged on Jennis jersey who quickly made a few steps towards you; “Keep your head in the game, Jenni.“ “My head is exactly where it’s supposed to be, Ale.“, she replied cooly when she saw your own teammates race towards you. Alexia nodded courtly; “Good.“ “It’s not a big deal.“, Jenni stated, more to herself than to Alexia.
Ivanas head appeared above you at the same time; “Hey, what’s wrong?“ “My knee…“, you answered, trying to sit up, but Olga immediately held you back: “Don’t move. The medical staff is coming.“
You nodded bravely and let the physios assess your injury. Ivana grimaced in sympathy, seeing your pained expression; “Shit. This doesn’t look good.“ “She’ll be subbed off. Obviously.“, Olga nodded while the two watched you being helped off the pitch.
The game ended with another win for Barcelona. On their way to the dressing rooms, Jenni stopped Olga; “Olga, where is she?“ The Real player shrugged; “How am I supposed to know? I was on the field, just like you.“ “Sorry, I thought you might.“, Jenni shook her head. Sighing, Olga put a hand on her upper arm; “Wait here. I’ll go check in the dressing room for her.“ “Okay.“ Jenni watched Olga leave and return a few minutes later.
“And?“ “It’s her knee. It’s not looking good.“, the Real player explained what Jenni already knew. Impatiently, she asked; “Can I see her?“ “Yes, go in.“ Jenni didn’t wait for her, she went straight into Real Madrids dressing room. With your knee bandaged to prevent swelling, you looked up at your girlfriend; “Congrats to your goal.“ “Thanks. But it’s hard to celebrate when you had to be helped off the pitch.“, she replied earnestly.
“Trust me, I did not want to leave the game that way either.”, you swallowed hard. Quietly the Barcelona player lifted your chin, so you had to keep your focus on her: “I know that.”  “Not in the year of the euros.”, you whispered, tears shot in your eyes while the realization was hitting hard.
Empathetically Jenni stroke your hair:“Hey, don’t think about that yet.” “It’s hard not to do that.”, you mumbled.  Smoothly she reminded you: “I know that. But it’s in the future.” “And now?” “Now we have to wait for a diagnosis and your rehab.”, the dark-haired woman pulled you into a hug hoping to lift a bit of the weight on your shoulders. Loudly you sighed:” Alright.”
After your ACL injury was confirmed, Jenni proposed her idea to you which you answered promptly:” Moving in with you? But you’re living in Barcelona?” “And?”, your girlfriend gave you an expectantly look.  “And the rehab process can be ugly.. I might say awful things to you. Why are you grinning?”, you listed all the things which could go wrong.
A bright smile appeared on the forward’s face:   “I hope you do say that to me.”  “You’re so weird.”, you laughed. Playfully shocked Jenni repeated: “I’m weird?” “Yes.” “You’re weird.”, she disagreed with your earlier comment. Now it was your turn to react offended: “Me?!” “Yeah.” You pressed on:“Why?”
“You don’t want to come to Barcelona with me.”, your girlfriend pouted. Slowly you admitted to yourself and her, not without a joking tone in your voice: “I do but I’m not sure if you can handle a madridista.” “I’m sure.”, Jenni confirmed sincerely. “Okay, we can do this.”

It was a sunny and warm November day while both teams were doing their round in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Concerned you walked up to Alexia:” Ale, how’s your knee doing? You’re not playing?” “No, I’m out.”, she told you with a sad smile on her face. Cheekily you replied: “I’m sorry to hear it as your friend but as a player for Madrid.”
“Don’t worry, I trust my team enough to believe they can still beat you. Even with you back.”, her smile deepened at your teasing words, but the midfielder hinted on the time you both were out with an ACL injury missing out on the Euros in which your team was under the favourites but did not win after all.
“We’ll see about that, more serious you continued, but you’re still joining us for dinner afterwards, right?” She padded your shoulders, showing the warm side of her few people get to see of her:” Of course.”
You gave her another warm smile before turning away to head towards the changing room. While Alexia watched you leave, Jenni who was set to commentate on this El Clasico appeared on her side; “Ale, I’m really proud of how she came back from that injury.“ “You can be, she’s tough.“, Alexia nodded, her gaze now shifting towards the fans that filled the stadium.
Jenni watched her former team mate from the side; “Yes but I’m glad you two had each other during that time too.“ “Me too, trust me. It was a good idea to let her do the rehab in Barcelona.“, Alexia replied, her jaw set as she turned back towards Jenni. “Agreed.“
The midfielder raised her eyebrows at her friend; “But now she’s back in Madrid.“ “And I’m in Mexico.“, Jenni added with a small sigh. “How did you make that decision?“
The dark-haired forward tilted her head pensively; “It wasn’t easy.“ “I can tell.“, her former team mate replied. “You do?“ Alexia gave a short nod; “Yes. But you got to go. Your new job is waiting.“ A defiant smile appeared on Jennis face; “Exciting.“ “I’ll see you after the game. With three more points for Barcelona.“, her friend laughed in reply.
All three of you experienced the game from different places in the stadium. Jenni sat with some journalists, Alexia with her team mates and you were standing on the grass while Barcelona beat Real Madrid with 5:0.
Of course, the Barcelona players were in a good mood as soon as the final whistle blew but Jenni barely had time for some more small talk with Alexia; “If you excuse me, Ale.“ “Hey! Seriously? You’re leaving me for a Madrid player?“, Alexia yelled after her as she crossed the grass.
Grinning, Jenni answered; “She’s my fiancée!“ “You were not supposed to tell her that yet!“, you laughed, playfully hitting Jenni. “Excuse me?“, came from Alexia, more amused than offended. “Just great.“, you mumbled while Alexia caught up with you two. “Why didn’t you tell me that?“ “Before the El Clasico?“, you replied innocently. “Yes!“ Uncertain, you admitted; “Felt weird with Jenni there too…“
A smile spread across Alexias face; “I don’t blame you. I was expecting to hear it from Jenni anyway.“ To your surprise, you felt her arms around you as she wrapped you in a hug.
Simultaneously, Jenni explained; “We wanted to tell you at dinner.“ “That’s way too late!“, Alexia complained, releasing you from her embrace. You smiled at the two friends and took a step back, pointing into the direction of the dressing rooms; “I’ll leave you to it.“
“No, stay.“, Jenni said and grabbed your wrist. But Alexia shook her head at her friend and gave you a gentle smile; “We’ll talk about it at dinner.“ You took this as your sign to disappear into the dressing rooms for a nice, warm shower.
“But you’ll be my best woman right Ale?”, Jenni asked the blonde. Playfully the midfielder told her: “I’ll think about it!” “Don’t you dare saying ACL bonds are stronger.”, the dark-haired woman groaned.  The younger player shook her head:“No, I’m saying I should have known first if you want me to have a special role in your wedding.”
“Who says there is only a wedding?”, Jenni replied with an innocent look on her face. Confused Alexia furrowed her brows:” What’s that supposed to mean?” “We’ll tell you at dinner.”, the woman who played in Mexico promised. With a pout on her lips the Barcelona player turned away: “I hate you both.”
Freshly showered you came back in time to hear her last words declaring:” No, you love us!” “Not sure about that.”, the blonde chuckled. You threw an eyebrow up:” Do you believe her, Jenni?” “No.”, your fiancée answered. Smirking you agreed with her:“Me neither.”
“She’s just bluffing.”, the raven-haired woman observed. Still pouting Alexia defended herself: “I want to know what you were hinting at earlier!” “Can we go to dinner first?”, Jenni wanted to know. The midfielder shrugged it off: “Sure.”
After you had a delicious dinner Alexia looked expectantly at you both:” So, will you girls tell me now everything?” “Sure, we have the time now.”, you nodded. Quickly Jenny left the table only to return with something which would make Alexia tear up more than an engagement ring could.
You might have lost every el clasico but it brought you closer to the person you fell in love with and for this you were grateful. Although you’d love to win it in the future but it would be on pause for a while because some things were more important than football.

You were sat at home when you got the call regarding Alexia's knee injury. You were both set to guide Spain all the way through the euros yet neither of you participated.
Alexia was on the sidelines and out for the next 9 months whereas you were 'injured' for the next 9/10 months.
The truth is you were injured, just not to the same extent as Alexia's. You had picked up a slight ankle injury towards the end of the 21/22 season, only a sprain but you dragged it out. The real reason was that you were a month pregnant.
Alexia and you had decided that you had wanted a baby and you were willing to give up the euros in order to do so, Alexia was not so sure it was the right time but you reassured her promising her you'd be fine on your own and to update her.
The ankle injury was the best excuse to hide the pregnancy, pretending you were staying in Barcelona to do your 'rehab' while everyone was in England.
When Alexia's injury was announced it had brought great dread upon you, an ACL tear is a big deal and it would not be easy growing a child inside of you and looking after her at the same time.
Although you could see her struggling through the mental aspects as well as the physical, she was trying her best to look after you as well. The thought of her unborn baby inspired her through her rehab to get back in shape as quick as possible.
The black and white outline on the sonogram that was revealed to you both every appointment seemed to make Alexia's comeback near closer and closer.
Finding out you were having a little girl made Alexia even more excited, wanting to become an inspiration for your daughter even though you told her many times that she's not going to have a clue in the world Alexia was a top player for a while.
"When you grow up you are going to be one of the best footballers in the world." Alexia giggled as she felt the baby kick hard for the 4th time in a row.
"Just like her mama." You interrupted their conversation, while stroking her hair.
"Mamas, you mean?"
You just smiled as you turned back to reading your book, Alexia carrying on her conversation after finding out after tons of research that the more the baby hears your voice the more relaxed they'll be around you when they're born.
"Bebé, can you please stop talking about football the more you do it the more she kicks and it's getting uncomfortable."
"Sorry." She whispers against your stomach, pressing a light kiss before sitting up.
Whilst doing so you didn't fail to notice the wince on her face.
"Are you in pain? Want me to get you some painkillers?"
"No. i'm fine." Her face turns emotionless at the attention of her discomfort, getting up to hobble to the bathroom.
You got up after her to go and get her some meds as well as water to leave on her bedside table, opening the freezer and grabbing her an ice pack to rest on her knee.
Alexia had her surgery a couple of months back, though she was still struggling with the pain and it made your heart crack seeing her like this.
"I don't need that." Glaring at you as you walked in. Your rose your eyebrow, telling her to carry on.
"Do you really want to dismiss a pregnant women? You need it, it'll help." You scolded pulling the covers off her bottom half and placing the ice pack gently on her knee, herself hissing at the coldness, and gently lifting her leg to rest on a pillow.
"You've already got the motherly characteristics."
"Yep, i'm practicing on you." You gave her a humorous look as you pulled the covers back over her, "Now take." You practically forced her to take the pills with the stare you were giving her.
"See? What would you do without me? Pretty sure you'd be dead by now."
"Ha ha." You gave her a successful smile and turned back to walk towards your side of the bed.
Before you felt a sudden pain in your side, "ouch." You hissed as you bent over on the bed.
"¿Estas bien?" Alexia looked all over your face to check if your okay.
"Estoy bien, i think she kicked a bit too hard. Don't worry, it's okay." You reassured her as you got into bed and cuddled into her side.
"Have you thought of anymore names yet?" You ask to clear the air.
"No, it's too hard. We have to make sure that it's not the same as any of the girls we play with and that's literally every name!"
You giggle at the known fact that any of the girls name being used will end up with a fight or an argument about being the favourite.
"I've come up with a few. I really like Ada but it is the name of the best player in the team we will hate until death."
"Yeah, definitely not. I think something more Spanish traditional, you know? Like... Sofia or something."
"Mhm," You hummed before you yawned. "It'll come."
3 months later, you hit your late 8 month mark while Alexia was getting stronger and stronger, herself now training separately on the pitch beside the others. The team were wondering where you were though, Alexia having stayed quiet about you the whole time they've been back from being knocked out in the quarters.
All she has said, as well as the trainers, was that you were on a health break. You had both told Jonatan and the trainers the truth when Alexia started her rehab, they were all ecstatic and couldn't wait to have another baby in the team.
"Amor, where are you?" Alexia shouted throughout your house, expecting to find you right in front of her, instead just Nala bouncing at her feet.
"Nursery!"
She made her way towards the room with the ball of fluff trailing behind, to find you in the middle of a mess of baby clothes.
"Hola." You grinned up at her as she appeared in the door way.
"Ay dios mío. Do we need this much?" Alexia's shocked face looks around the room, bending over to pick up some tiny socks.
"I couldn't resist! I went out with Alba and tu mama and we couldn't stop fussing over all of it and how little it all is! Like look at the size of these shoes!!" You crawled over to pick the small converse up and shoved them in her face with a small pout.
"This is going to be one stylish baby. She's very lucky." She held her arms out to help you up, your bump now much bigger which limited your mobilisation.
"She is one lucky baby." You bit your lip as you stroked your stomach, "I'm so excited."
"Me too, Cariño."
"How was training? Venga, i'll start dinner." You took hold of her hand and dragged her into the kitchen, giving her a questioning look as she didn't reply.
"The usual, girls asking about you and how your doing and a lot of strengthening." Alexia plopped onto one of the stalls as she spoke, yourself going quiet as you got some ingredients out to make your favourite pasta.
"I feel really bad. Do you think we should have told them?" You whipped yourself around, hugging the bunch of ingredients in your arms as you lip wobbled.
Alexia's eyes widened, knowing how emotional you have been lately the hormones fluctuating drastically.
"Baby, baby, hey. It's our life, our choice. We wanted to experience this privately and so far it has been amazing, it feels normal. Besides, they all love kids and once they see our beautiful girls face all accusations will be thrown out the window. Prometo." Alexia was now in front of you slowly removing the ingredients from your arms before they are all chucked everywhere, anger was a big one of your hormonal moods.
"Okay."
"Bueno, do you want me to do dinner?" She felt you nod against her shoulder, herself lifting your head up with your cheeks squished and pressing kisses all over your face.
"Estoy cansada. I want baby out now."
"I know, i know, t'estimo tant. Go sit down, we'll have dinner in the living room."
She frowned as she watched you wobble off towards the destination.
"You're having the next one!"
The next day, Alexia was training anxiously. She had left you that morning with some minor pains in your abdomen, a clear sign of near labor. You had convinced her to go to her rehab to not cause any suspicion and promised her that you'll be fine as her mum was coming round after she leaves.
In the physio room, she didn't want to leave her phone behind, staring at it for a good 20 minutes before she had to go out.
"You can take it out with you." Alexia's one on one coach told her with a smile on his face. "It's getting close, it's probably best."
"Gracias."
"No hay problema, i remember when my wife gave birth... i was with her the whole time, might not have been the best time of her life but it was mine. Helping my boy come into the world, she made me so proud."
Alexia smiled at him as his thoughts drifted off, going to get a ball of the side of the pitch.
"Also, remember to not take anything they say to heart during labor. I had some pretty mean things thrown at me and the grip of the hand hold is hard, so try not to break your hand."
"Of course, i've already had some pretty stern telling offs. Pretty sure that after she's born i'd be mothered, still, more than her."
The feeling of the ball at her feet distracted Alexia from her worries, there being no update from her mum or you, her phone staying relatively quiet during her session.
It wasn't until she was heading in for lunch when she started to feel her anxiety creeping up again, not allowing her phone screen to go dark.
"Hola.." Mapi caught up with her, shoving her arm around her shoulders.
"Hola." Alexia smiled at her quickly before returning her gaze to her phone, Mapi following on.
"Are you okay? You never have your phone at training, you don't like distractions?" Mapi's hand travelled down to the small of her back, her head tilting in front of Alexia's.
"Sí, todo bien. Just waiting for an update from my doctor..." They continued on walking towards the cafeteria, Alexia then putting her phone in her pocket to grab some food.
Mapi immediately went to sit down next to Ingrid, stealing her apple.
"Hey!" Ingrid stole her apple back after Mapi took one bite, giving her a weird look.
"I think something is wrong with Y/N."
"What do you mean?" Frido now joined in the conversation, concerned over the state of one of her best friends.
"I'm not sure, but Alexia seems anxious... she keeps looking at her phone every two seconds and... just look at her!" They all turned their heads towards Alexia, Mapi's point being proved with Alexia resting her elbow on the table with her forehead being rubbed by her palm.
"I'm sure it's nothing too bad... right?" Claudia, having come over with Patri and a few other girls, tried to reassure herself, as well as the others, worried about her missing team mum.
"Hopefully... i just really wish that they'd say something. Like, Y/N has been gone for ages and hasn't spoken to us once. It's ruining us and our focus is not on football." Ingrid placed her hand on Mapi's back, rubbing it up and down soothingly in response.
Suddenly, a loud blaring of a ringtone erupted in the room. Mapi's head flew off of Ingrid's shoulder and found Alexia frantically getting up to answer it. With a determined look, she got up and slowly followed Alexia out the room.
"Mapi!" Ingrid scolded, knowing Alexia won't be pleased with the lack of privacy and respect Mapi is showing.
"Is she okay? Is she coming?" Alexia slowed in the hallway, placing her hand on top of her head.
"She is?? Okay.. Okay.. erm.. joder! i'll be there soon i just need to get my stuff, are you on the way to the hospital?"
"Hospital?" Mapi whispered to herself as she rested against the wall around the corner.
"Okay, give me 20 minutes. Tell her i'll be with her soon, and that i love her and she's so incredibly strong and she should be so proud of herself." She rambled through the phone, pacing the small width of the hallway. "Okay, right, see you in a bit."
Alexia tucked her phone back in her pocket, rushing round the corner to bump straight into Mapi.
"Maps? What are you doing?"
"Erm.."
"Were you spying on me?.. You know what forget it." Alexia interrogated before she continued her fast walk down the hallway towards the locker room, Mapi following close behind.
"What's wrong with Y/N?"
"Nothing she's fine."
"Alexia!" Mapi took a hold of her arm to stop her from going any further, "Dime, do you not think this is affecting the team? We're all so worried and it's hurting us thinking she's going through something terrible and we can't help her!"
"Mapi, i promise you she's fine." Alexia reassured, tugging her arm out of her hold wanting to get to her wife as soon as possible.
"I heard the phone call Alexia. Why is she going to the hospital?" She tugged her back towards her gaze.
"For fuck sake, Mapi. Let me go."
"Just tell me!"
"She's pregnant, okay!?"
Mapi slowly let her arm slide out of her hold, Alexia slamming the changing room door open and frantically packing her stuff away.
"You guys are having a baby?"
"Sí, yes we are. She's gone into labor her water broke, we wanted to keep it private. Happy?" Alexia shoved her shoulder into Mapi's and made her way out.
"Omg... Omg!"
"Don't tell anyone yet, Mapi!"
"¡Prometo!" Mapi squealed to herself, already excited to meet her bestest friends baby.
"So, did you find out anything?" Claudia eagerly whispered to Mapi after training, watching as she packed her stuff away.
"She's okay, trust me." Mapi smirked to herself, Claudia and Ingrid both giving her a weird look.
"Why has she been so distant then?"
"You'll see."
"Why not tell me?"
"Because it's not something for me to tell." Mapi patted Claudia on the shoulder, "I promise you, she's okay."
Claudia flopped onto the bench with a huff as she watched Mapi and Ingrid stride out of the changing room. Her mind in continuous thought about what may be the reason to why you had been gone so long, the knowledge that her football mums have gone this long without revealing anything to her made her feel unwanted. Though she couldn't feel like that, she was an adult after all.
Many hours later in the early morning of the next day, you were sleepily watching your loved one cradle your newborn to her chest. You smiled as you watched her bend her head down to rub her nose against hers, her eyes appearing glossy as she looked back at you.
"Oh, mi amor... she's perfect." Alexia bit her lip at the sight of her relaxed daughter.
"She has your eyes, and nose... practically all of you as she was your egg." You rolled your eyes jokingly as you shuffled in bed.
Alexia chuckled with a sniff, wiping some of the tears from her face.
"Elena." You whispered, you face displaying adoration for your little family.
"¿Que?"
"Her name. Elena? Elena Putellas Segura?"
You could see Alexia's smile widen, her face revelling in a small glow as she nodded.
"I love it." Alexia got up to pass the sleeping baby back to you, yourself moving over to allow her to join you. "I love you. I'm so proud".
"Oh and by the way, Mapi knows."
"Of course." You huffed at the lack of secret keeping between the two best friends. "She was going to find out sooner than later."
That whole night Alexia didn't sleep a wink, wanting to watch over the most precious thing she has. As well as you. She didn't allow her touch to leave hers, wanting Elena to feel she's wanted and protected. "I am never going to let anything bad happen to you, mi amor."
In response, she had gripped her finger so tightly, almost as if she remembers Alexia's voice. The whole night they stayed like that, no distractions just pure love.
The next few weeks were bliss, your daughter turned out perfect. You and Alexia had slept through most nights, Elena not kicking up no more than just one small fuss a night for a feed. The secret still going while Alexia trained, although with the continuous annoyance of Mapi pestering in her ear.
You had also started your rehab, though also in secret. You didn't want the interrogation yet and would rather do so with Alexia, your post natal emotions still not up to speed. You had been going into the Joan Gamper, the trainers helping you with avoiding any of your teammates, and training on a separate pitch.
After a few months, you both were back to standard fitness. The physios having cleared you to go back to training now after Alexia did a few weeks back. She was glad, you not so much.
"They've seen you! They know you're okay! I have been avoiding them for a straight year nearly!"
"Baby, it's okay. We'll explain everything." Alexia tried to calm you down as you were having a literal melt down in the kitchen after finding out the news.
"Oh hey, i'm back yes i've been gone ages, i've had a baby with Alexia and we decided not to tell you all, i know it's full on but we are happy and we don't care about what you think." You blabbered in the conversation, making out to her that this is a big deal.
"Why don't we take her with us, she's a bit bigger now." Alexia sighed rubbing her hand over her face.
"And what would we do? Who would look after her?"
"How about we meet them before?"
You stopped to think for a second, looking at the floor. Your trail interrupted as you heard a strangled cry coming from the bedroom, you and Alexia both snapping your heads towards it.
"I'll get her."
"No, i'll get her. I need to think." You rounded the kitchen island, placing your hand on her shoulder to push her back down gently in her seat.
Picking the chubby baby up from her crib, you rocked her on you hip to soothe her, pressing kisses on her head.
After she had let out a giggle from your silly faces, you laid her down to change her and grabbed her some clothes.
After you had done so, you pulled her up into a sitting position and she stared at you with a wide toothless smile.
"What am i going to do?" You ask her rhetorically, sweeping you hand through her messy dark baby hairs.
She just gurgled and slapped her hand onto your face, which she seemed to find funny. With a scrunched face, you removed her small fingers and picked her up once again taking her downstairs.
"ahh, bebé is awake." Alexia put down the snack she was eating on the counter and brushed her hands away of any crumbs before reaching out, Elena doing so too.
"Hola, pequeña." She had settled on her lap straight away, intrigued with what was on her plate, while Alexia pressed kisses to her cheek.
"I think i've figured out a plan..."
"Mhm, go on." She listened to you, swiping her hair behind her shoulders away from Elenas reach.
"I'll pick you up from training tomorrow. I'll be in the changing room waiting for you with her... but you got to be the first one in and you have to promise me that." You pointed your index finger at her with a serious face.
"That sounds like a perfect plan, cariño."
"Yeah... i just hope they aren't too mad." You exhaled as you turned to lean on the side.
"Hey..." She grabbed a hold of your hand and pulled you closer towards her. "Don't worry, even if they are mad they can't be for too long. Besides Mapi will fight anyone off."
You gave a small scoff of a laugh and allowed Alexia to bring you in for a small kiss. "A little hostility is nothing compared to what you've brought to the world."
Elena also agreeing with a loud squeal, making her presence known once again. You both jumping slightly at the high pitched noise, as well as Nala who was cosied at Alexia's feet.
It was near the end of Alexia's training the next day and you, to say, were shitting it. You and Elena were sat in the car park in your usual spot before time changed, your leg bouncing up and down as you stared at the sleeping baby in her car seat from the rear view mirror.
"Okay, vamos. Calm down, we'll be fine. Everything will be fine." You hyped yourself up as you came back to reality, reaching to unbuckle your seatbelt and get out the car before rounding the other side to carefully extract Elena with her car seat.
Being careful not to disturb her you slowly made your way towards the front entrance, your hands shaking was not helping to keep her steady and you didn't notice that she was stirring awake.
"Ay dios mío! It's so good to see you again!" One of the photographers you'd come to know quite well spotted you entering before her eyes trailed down to what was in your hands.
"No you did not."
"I did." You giggled as you turned the car seat towards her view.
"Y/N... she's perfect." She crouched down to Elenas view, tickling her finger across her cheek which elicited a cute giggle.
"You have kept this cutie a secret all this time?"
"Yep, now i'm going to surprise the team." You huffed with pursed lips, still not excited for their reaction.
"I'm sure they'll be fine." She got up from her position still eyeing your baby with a big smile on her face. "Anyway, i'll let you get going. See you later."
"See you."
You continued your way down the long hallway before the changing room sign entered your view, pushing the door open. The sight of the changing room brought back memories, it hadn't changed one bit. Your locker still had your name on it and was still next to Alexia's, you moved over to it to finally place the heavy carrier down and look around.
You sat down on the allocated bench seat in front of your locker and hastily undid Elenas seatbelt to pick her up, needing a bit of emotional support. You placed her in your lap, grabbing one of her toys from your bag to distract her with.
You saw the time on your phone and it was about 2 seconds until training finished, your heart racing as you leant your lips gently on her head.
Your trance was knocked away when the door opened, you snapping your head up to see Alexia making her way over to you.
"Hi baby, you alright?" She leant down to press a quick kiss to your lips before pressing one to Elena's head.
"No." You answered, biting you nails with the hand that was not keeping Elena steady.
"It's going to be fi..." Your wife started before the door flung open once again an overjoyed Mapi coming bounding over to you.
"You stupid bitch! How could you keep this beautiful little thing from me!" Mapi giggled as she pushed Alexia out of the way to be able to sit down next to you, Elena seeming to like her bubbly personality and wanting to climb over to her.
"Hola. You must be Elena, it is very nice to finally meet you." Mapi started a conversation with the babbling baby as she got settled on her lap, fisting her training top.
"Is it only you training or something? Where are the others?"
"They're coming.."
All of a sudden, a loud racket appeared into the room, but turned silent once they spotted you.
"Where have you been?" One of them asked before you answered by looking at the baby in Mapi's lap who was trying to twist her body around to see what was going on.
"No way."
"What the fuck."
"A BABY."
"Everyone, meet Elena our daughter." Alexia slowly introduced the few month old, grabbing her from Mapi who pouted at the loss of her presence.
Everyone clambered over to Alexia and your newest addition to the family, all but one. Claudia was shocked you could tell, diverting her gaze between Elena and yourself.
"Claudia." You attract her full attention and reach your hand out, as she got closer you could see her glossy eyes.
"Clau... hey, talk to me."
"I thought something really bad happened to you... ¿Que cojones?" A lone tear fell down her cheek, you hand immediately swiping it away before pulling her into a hug.
"I'm sorry Clau, i'm so sorry. I didn't mean to leave you all in the dark, i promise, but it was too late. It felt too late."
Claudia sniffled into your shoulder, relieved to finally be in your hold after all these months.
"Can i hold her?"
"Of course you can, cariño. She's practically your little sister." You rubbed her back as you let her go, making your way over to Aitana who was sitting with her on the floor.
"Times up with the play time." You clapped as Elena looked up at you, picking her up and placing her onto your hip. You were just about to turn around when you were engulfed in a massive group hug, them all obviously being careful to avoid suffocating the baby in your arms.
"Oh... guys." Your heart warmed at the gesture, still feeling the love you have always felt.
"We're all so happy for you Y/N, even though you kept this all from us and made us think you were dying... we're proud and we love you." Marta pressed a kiss to your cheek and made it clear to you that all your worries were wrong, your post natal emotions were still strong and you were fully in tears, letting out a wet laugh of relief before they all returned to their lockers.
You made your way over to Claudia and Alexia who were having a deep conversation as they sat on the bench.
"You still want to hold her?"
"Sí, por favor."
Once you had placed Elena into her arms, you had never seen her react more positively. She took a straight liking to Claudia, wanting to be as close to her as possible and placing both her chubby hands on her cheeks.
"Oh wow. She's chosen a favourite." Alexia and you looked at each other in surprise, as you heard them both giggling, Claudia having found a random toy from your locker.
"Sisterly love."
Coming back to training with your beloved team made you feel on top of the world, your life becoming more and more the better. Having a ball at your feet to having baby snuggles at night, you couldn't see it getting any better. Until your and Alexia's debut came.
Jonatan had decided that it would be the best moment to substitute you both on at the same time, making the comeback just that little bit more perfect for the fans. You both were ecstatic you could be involved in the game that could decide the title run, especially when your daughter was in the stands.
Once the substitutions were both announced by the 4th official, the crowd went wild, mostly for Alexia as they were chanting her name the most. You looked at her with admiration, you loved her and you loved that Elena had her as her mother.
"Te quiero."
Alexia turns her head towards you, reaching to grab your hand without gaining much attention.
"Yo también, te quiero mucho. Ets la millor mare que pot tenir l'Elena i estic molt agraït que ho siguis." (You are the best mother that Elena could ever have and i am so grateful that you are.)
"Para, em faràs plorar." (Stop, your going to make me cry.) You slightly wipe your eye before running onto the pitch with Alexia trailing behind, looking to where Alexia's mum said she'd be with Elena.
The game ended 3-0, which meant you won La liga F. Hugging every single teammate that came into view as you made your way to your wife.
"Welcome back, Mama."
"Back to you as well, amor." She wrapped her arms around your waist and picked you up, your legs wrapping round hers as you buried your face in her neck.
She released you to find tears flowing down your face, her own softening as she reached out to wipe them away.
"Shall we go find la pequeña?"
You nodded as you felt her guide you over to the stands with her hand placed securely on your back, only revealing your face once again when you heard the familiar squeal.
Alexia had taken her into her arms from her mother while you pulled yourself together, exchanging thank yous and congratulations with your families. You could hear fans around you speculating about who the child getting so much attention from you both was, you basically giving the hint when you kiss her cheeks.
You held her close as they were celebrating Alexia’s come back, you refusing to be lifted up in the air, especially as your insides have not been the same since. Elena’s face was a look of pure worry as you pointed out the action, until you started laughing and she started too, one of the media personnel getting it on camera.
You and Alexia didn’t mind the attention, wanting to be as truthful to the public from now on after hiding it for so long. So, when she did her speech, she announced the newest addition to the team and confessed to where you’d been, Elena clapping as she heard loud cheers for herself before fiddling with your medal.
“We did good, yeah?” Alexia asked you later that night when she climbed into bed after settling Elena down, you snuggling up to her.
“Yeah, we did good.”
