but the feeling we once had starts to fade beneath the bad and it’s everything, it’s everything and i’m losing you yeah, i’m losing you and i’m almost at the point of giving it up…             [ Aquilo “Losing You” ]

Albus  was  rather  glad  there  was  a  mask  covering  his  features.  If  not,  the  song  blaring  in  the  building  adorned  with  aesthetics  befitting  the  event might  have  made  him  shed  a  tear.  It  wasn’t  like  him  to  be  this  sentimental  —  and  in  public  no  less!  —  but  blue  eyes  could  belong  to  anyone  beneath  the  gorgeous  Venetian  mask  crafted  specially  for  him.  It  hid  all  telling  features  save  for  the  eyes  while  a  clean  shave  made  him  look  about  ten  years  younger.  The  gold,  half  mask  was  adorned  with  a  few  gold  and  black  features.  A  hint  of  red  could  be  found  within  the  mask  in  certain  lights,  an  allusion  to  the  house  he  once  belonged  to  at  Hogwarts.   Music  was  playing  in  the  background  by  a  live  orchestra.  These  political  parties  were  not  exactly  Albus’  thing  but  then,  after  Bhutan,  it  was  important  to  show  his  face  to  a  select  few.  For  now,  he  was  merely  mixing  and  mingling  anonymously,  dancing  with  whoever  stole  him  for  a  song  while  he  waited  to  meet  up  with  some  of  his  dearest  friends.

Aftermath

Seeing Hogwarts for the first time in years brought back bittersweet memories of his expulsion and heart felt nostalgia of being a student sneaking out of the castle and into the forbidden forest hunting all manner of creature he was lucky enough to come by.

It was a shame he was now back under unfavourable circumstances.

The aftermath of Paris was just beginning to make headline news around the world, soon the entire globe would see the British Ministry painted by two different pen strokes. They either attacked innocent bystanders under the pretence of upholding the law or they intervened at Grindelwald’s illegal rally encouraging the suppression of muggles by any means necessary and innocent Aurors were incinerated in retaliation.

Needless to say the journey home had been sombre.

Leta had sacrificed herself, she had died fighting for a world that had rejected her very essence in order to save them.

Newt had been forced to wrench Theseus from the fight and his brother had crumbled in his arms; his heart had scattered into pieces and barely spoken a word since.

Jacob had been sat quietly next to Tina with unspilled tears in his eyes, reeling with loss and rejection. Queenie had been persuaded by Grindelwald's charms and was now lost in his network of followers, being a natural legilimens she was valuable, which meant getting her back was going to be next to impossible.

Meanwhile Newt was once again battling his own failures, he had failed Credence, he should have tracked him down sooner. Then perhaps Paris would never have happened. Leta would be alive, Jacob and Queenie would have been happy in New York. Newt could have prevented all this pain.

A quiet sniffle and gently pawing brought Newt back to the present and away from his pitiful thoughts. Teddy had been at the battle in Paris and suffered his own war wounds, Newt had scooped him up and managed to heal his superficial scraps.

Really, Newt should have predicted that with a coliseum full of people wearing their best, Teddy would have gone hunting for every shiny object his beady eyes could see. Grindelwald had apparently been no exception to this rule and Newt discovered the blood pact in his pouch as he spelled him better.

Suddenly, Dumbledore's lack of physical intervention all clicked into place

Everyone knew the rumours that Grindelwald and Dumbledore had been close once, not that Newt cared, he never put stock in gossip but their was no denying a blood pact made between two of the most powerful wizards in living memory. The necklace was identical to a trinket Dumbledore himself owned.

With this knowledge Newt had asked Nicolas Flamel to send an owl to Albus stating they needed to meet immediately, under the guise of relaying the events of Paris just in case the owl was intercepted. Teddy had unintentionally given them a silver lining and perhaps with both halves of the necklace Dumbledore could find away of breaking the pact.

There was an unspoken tension rippling between the group as they waited for Albus, together they had been through so much in an incredibly short space of time, they all demanded answers to questions that seemed too painful to speak of right now. The battle was still raw.

Emerging from the fog, Albus came towards them and Newt met Dumbledore half way. What they needed to talk of required some privacy.

Nevertheless news of Leta had already travelled to Hogwarts, Newt confirmed she had passed away and distracted Albus with the pendant instead, if he spoke of Leta aloud Newt would become visibly upset. No one had had the chance to morn, now was not the time.

Watching his plan worked as Dumbledore's face went from bewilderment to blossoming delight was satisfying. Newt felt pleased he had managed to do something right, even if getting hold of the pendant was a happy accident. He explained that Teddy had swiped the pact and Grindelwald was none the wiser.

"Do you think you can destroy it?" He asked, if anyone could find a way it would be Albus. If they could break the pact, Dumbledore would be able to move against Grindelwald freely.

Was this the moment his former Headmaster had foretold? It had happened within the blink of an eye. For the first moment, Harry had been enshrouded with the uproar of a hundred voices all cheering as the body of Tom Riddle collapsed to the floor, finally defeated. In the next, there was a sudden deafening silence, as though a charm had been placed upon the crowd. However, as Harry turned on the spot, he found himself very much alone.

There was something very disconcerting about the Great Hall being vacant of people. Even within the whispers of an early morning, students could be found speaking softly at the tables within, helping themselves to goblets of pumpkin juice and a slice of toast, as they prepared for the day of learning ahead.

Those tables which had been upturned in the battle, were now upright once more, yet void of placemats. Harry walked along between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, skimming his fingers along the wood. This room had not yet seen the perils of war, had not known the horror of its students being murdered within.

Truth be told, it was a fact Harry himself struggled to comphrend, as he thought of the past few hours he had endured with his friends. But that had all disappeared, and now he was left with a facade of what was to come. In a time where his memories could be seen as prophecy.

Albus was walking down the Rue Vieille du Temple, balancing a pile of books he had just purchased under one arm, a small bag of groceries in the other, while also trying to eat a sweet pastry he had just bought at the small cafe on the corner. Perhaps he should have taken a detour to the small park at the end of the street. Enjoyed his morning tea with a hot chocolate while taking in the sunshine and starting one of the books he had just purchased.

He was quite enjoying living here in Paris. He was still working with Nicolas, although he had also branched out and had started to research dragons on all things. Well, specifically, dragons blood and the different uses for them. He was hoping to complete a research paper once he had felt he had exhausted his search for the various uses for them but he wasn't quite there yet.

It was Sunday and he had taken the day for himself, slipping in between the Muggle and magical streets of the city. Most of the books had some from the Wizarding Book Store but he had enjoying some Muggle literature lately as well. The sweet pastry was from the Muggle cafe. The owners were always so sweet and were determined to set him up with their daughter. He always politely declined, knowing he couldn't begin to explain the complicated situation of not only his magical capabilities but also that he preferred the company of men. That was still frowned upon in non magical society, even here in Europe.

He sighed softly at the brief thought of Gellert lingered. He tried hard not to think about him too often, although it was almost impossible not to. They'd spoken to travelling here together, holding rallys here one day. It wasn't why he had moved here. He'd simply finally taken Nicolas up on the apprenticeship offer when Godrics Hollow became too stiffing to handle anymore. He hadn't seen Gellert since that night, when Gellert ran off and never returned. He'd heard whispers and rumours of the movement he was starting but Albus tried as hard as he could to ignore them. But it was getting harder as the rumours had increased in their frequency.

He had been so lost in thought, he collided with someone walking in the opposite direction. He just managed to save his pile of books from slipping from his grasp with only a slight hold of magic. He started to apologise profusely, looking up at the stranger he had incidentally assaulted before he almost dropped his books for a second time.

"Gellert."

Raised in Cokeworth to a muggle librarian and a muggle school teacher, her upbringing was relatively simple. Her home was dreamed up and doodled on the back of pieces of notepaper when her parents were young, with ivy growing up the walls and beautiful flowers adorning their cottage garden. Lily and her older sister PETUNIA EVANS [sibling/adversary] were named after those flowers, securing a special bond Lily thought they’d share forever. Her sister was her best friend, until the day it became clear that Lily Evans was different. When she was seven years old, playing in the garden with her sister Lily noticed as she and Petunia danced and twirled the flowers in their garden danced too, singing a merry tune as she had once seen in a film. Lily realised she could do extraordinary things, she blew a dandelion into butterflies and could make a bud bloom in her hands. Lily considered herself special, her sister did not. Petunia became jealous of her, saying cruel and spiteful things about Lily’s abilities until tears rolled down her cheeks. A freak was what she called her and her best friend became her adversary. A young boy in Spinner's End became a place of safety for Lily, SEVERUS SNAPE [adversary/former best friend]. 

A quiet boy, who sometimes appeared awkward in his own skin, Lily brought out some confidence in him, a look of awe in his eyes as she made nature transform into something even more beautiful. Severus told her the magic of the world behind the curtain from her own. Apparently she was a witch, like Severus’ mother and one day she would arrive home from school to a letter from PROFESSOR ALBUS DUMBLEDORE [former professor/leader] telling her she had been selected to attend a magical school for people just like them. Sure enough her letter arrived and Petunia was delighted to hear Lily would be moving away to boarding school, comparing it to a prison rather than a place of education. Lily did not want to leave on bad terms with her sister, but as she boarded the train for school just aged eleven she knew their relationship was well and truly over. Sorted into Gryffindor, Lily quickly befriended a few fellow lions she was fortunate enough to be sharing a dorm with that year. MARLENE MCKINNON [best friend], MARY MACDONALD [best friend], and DORCAS MEADOWES [best friend] were unique characters who made the transition to her new life easier. 

Mary was her rock during the process, also a Muggle-Born, they were bubbly, friendly and seemingly unphased by the hustle and bustle of their new world. Lily attempted to follow suit and the beginning of classes signalled a new found confidence for Lily as it quickly became established amongst her peers that she was an incredibly talented witch. A firm favourite of her professors, particularly Professors Slughorn and Fltwick, Lily’s talents began to attract her both positive and negative attention at school, as people flocked to be her friend and ask for her help with their studies. JASPER AVERY [adversary] was particularly jealous of Lily’s talents and frequently made it known he believed her to be lesser, due to her blood status. Lily however, would never be deterred and garnered a bit of a reputation for late night duels by The Black Lake to take down those who dared to challenge her and put their abilities where their mouth was. Lily had thick skin and a sharp mind, which meant cleverly orchestrated insults often followed the sting of her spells. It was this fire that attracted the unwanted attention of JAMES POTTER [close friend/potential love interest/former adversary], a fellow Gryffindor, who Lily found terribly arrogant.

To Lily, James, SIRIUS BLACK [close friend/former adversary] and PETER PETTIGREW [close friend/former adversary] were self-entitled bullies who had found entertainment in making fun of others, namely Severus- though these dynamics quickly shifted. In her fourth year after a stern talking to from McGonagall about her fighting, Lily accepted a position as a prefect with REMUS LUPIN [close friend] and began to see things differently without blood red rage. Her once good friend had sought the company of Avery and LARKIN MULICBER [adversary] another boy Lily despised due to his disgusting treatment of Mary which had left her beaten and bruised. Lily couldn’t understand why he would associate with such people and when she caught him calling her a mudblood with his ‘friends’ and heard James Potter of all people defending her, Lily had little time for his antics. She was still not convinced of James and his friends, but her mind was made up on Severus. From then onwards, Lily was ice cold towards him, not even bothering to insult him but rather looking through him with as much disdain as she could muster. 

After graduating both a prefect, head of her class and Head Girl- Lily was anxious to get her life started. As much as she loved her parents, she had no desire to spend any time with her sister and quickly moved into a house-share with American witch PRUDENCE OWENS [housemate] and JONATHAN REEVES [housemate] whom Lily vaguely remembered from school. It was jarring living with people she’d never met after spending so much time with her friends, but strangely Lily liked the separation and enjoyed the oddities of her two flatmates who couldn’t be any different from her. Prue and Jon mostly kept to themselves, which worked for Lily who enjoyed staying in her room after a long day at work. Lily accepted a position working for The Ministry of Magic in their Spells and Curses research department, studying spells and trying to push the limits of magic as they knew it. The job suited Lily perfectly, with a curious disposition and a joy of learning she hoped would never fully be quenched in her role. She saw her job as somewhat academic and didn’t realise how important it would become until people began disappearing. It was because of her skillset that Lily was asked to join The Order of The Phoenix, a secret underground group, it seemed most of her friends had been drafted into by their former headmaster. 

When BOOKER BAGNOLD [person of interest] died on Halloween in 1983 everyone suspected a werewolf attack but PANDORA FORTESCUE [friend/colleague] thought differently, though no one quite paid any attention. A whimsical witch, though she was talented, people often overlooked her- but Lily was in awe of Pandora and paid attention to her research, though admittedly long after the Booker case was closed by the Ministry. It had irritated Lily that no one had listened to Pandora and privately Lily began working with her on the case, conducting research into what they thought might have caused the wounds on Booker and looked for any similarities. Annoyingly when ROSALIE FLINT [person of interest] went missing there was no body for her and Pandora to look over and BENJY FENWICK’s [person of interest] vampire attack seemed to be just that. Lily parked her research for some time, irritated that hers and Pandora’s theory didn’t quite seem to fit. Booker hadn’t been attacked by a werewolf, that much she was sure of- even if Benji had and Rosalie had just gone missing. With bated breath Lily waits for the next person to fall, as ghoulish and gruesome as it sounds. Lily knows the Ministry or perhaps their feared rival organisation are framing creatures. All she needs is proof and motive, so maybe her quiet and secretive housemate Jonathan, might be a good place to start.

    The  thing  about  being  Albus  Dumbledore  was  that  it  was  very  difficult  for  anyone  to  follow  him  undetected.  As  it  were,  SOMEBODY  was  following  him  though  he  had  to  wonder  why.  If  they  were  afraid  he  was  going  to  go  look  for  Gellert,  they  were  sadly  mistaken.  Looking  for  him  so  soon  after  the  fiasco  at  the  summit  would  not  be  wise.  Without  the  necklace's  protection,  he  would  be  walking  into  a  potential  trap.  For  all  the  love  Gellert  once  held  for  him  (  if  it  was  even  real  in  the  first  place  ),  his  cause  was  far  more  important  than  pesky  feelings.  Gellert  would  kill  him  if  he  went  into  battle  unprepared.  As  much  as  he  lamented  the  idea  of  killing  him,  it  was  something  Albus  had  to  contend  with  now.

    He  turned  a  corner  then  vanished  right  before  the  eyes  of  his  stalker.  He  would  reappear  behind  them,  wand  at  their  throat  as  blue  eyes  twinkled  in  the  moonlight.  "Why  are  you  following  me?  And  doing  a  piss  poor  job  of  it  I  might  add.  Are  you  working  for  the  ministry?"

Small Introduction~

Hi there! I’m back with another group! This time I’m going to try using Discord. I’m using discord since it’s easier to be in more than one place. I hope you read through everything fully and completely.

Plot~

This follows the basic plot of the movies and books Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (both movies). This follows Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger’s years throughout Hogwarts and defeating Lord Voldemort (or He Who Shall Not Be Named).

Though this also follows the story of a girl named Catalina Thorne and how much trauma she goes through. She is carrying a lot of weight by keeping a secret of information. She is possibly dating the worst person that she could by choosing Draco Malfoy. Though she loves him dearly and feels happy around him, she has to lie to him and his family every day. She doesn’t always feel comfortable around her father since he’s a death eater and may have heard of her brother. Will she ever tell Draco the truth? Find out.

Rules~

1. You must have seen all 8 Harry Potter movies and/or read all 7 Harry Potter books. I will not be including anything from Cursed Child or Fantastic Beasts or Hogwarts Mystery or Hogwarts Legacy.

2. You MUST have Discord. If you don’t and are new to it, feel free to message me. I am using discord instead of Messenger because discord allows me to be in more places in a single group than messenger can do.

3. Please stick the canon characters to what happens. If your character dies, then they must die. If they end up together with someone, you must do that. If you’re a canon that doesn’t specifically end up with anyone in particular, you may ship them with someone who wouldn’t be with those ships.

4. You may be as many characters as you would like to do as long as you can control them.

5. Please do not badger me on being an admin. I only add people as admins if I trust them and I know that they understand the whole source material.

6. Please make sure that you know how to make bots. If you need help, please feel free to message me or an admin.

7. Please make sure you are literate. Please be able to do at least 3 lines of text. I would prefer you to not use *…* to rp but I won’t scold you if you do it.

8. Ocs are allowed but I’d like to have both ocs and canons.

9. Lgbtqia+ characters are allowed along with ships.

10. Sexual themes are allowed as long as you take it to personal chats and as long as the other person consents to it.

11. If you’re going to do anything triggering, please inform before typing. Using the any of the three Unforgivable Curses may trigger any young witch or wizard’s mind and we wouldn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable.

12. No bullying, trolling, homophobic or mean remarks out of character towards anyone!

13. If you break any rules there will be a three strike system. Strike 1: you are restricted from roleplay for one whole day. Strike 2: you are banned from roleplay for one whole week. Strike 3: you are henceforth banned from the group, never to set foot ever again.

> All of the writings are based on my portrayal of Albus and how we (my WP and I) designed this retelling/AU. At least I haven't read the books, but I'm doing this for fun and since this is our AU, reality is ours to command. (I'll still try to stick to the canon, except we switched Albus and Gellert's ages to fit more the actors and their characters and Minerva being moved to these times as another Gryffindor student so she can be Albus' BFF)

Others are another kind of crazy, like background stories that don't add to the main story. Or maybe will, but we won't mention it.

Other are a What If of some situations. Even if I'm trying to stay as linear as possible, sometimes I'll might explore the same concept but something and narrated different. This doesn't mean the fragments are in chronological order, it's that i can go back and forth but most of the writings are following the same string.

At least for me, most of these are canon unless my WP says otherwise.
