This post has been delayed so I could reflect on my experience and process it rationally. Callout anyone using AI to scam you. I do not support AI art and that is my choice, we shouldn't be tricked into paying for it.

Must read. Here' s a snippet to motivate you :
For the still-not-convinced: If you need an AI to come up with ideas for you, you don’t even belong in the fucking room, because ‘coming up with ideas’ is literally the most basic level skill to have. A basketball player who can’t dribble doesn’t belong in the NBA, so why the fuck do you think you deserve a spot on my writing team if you need a computer to do what any goddamn fucking eight year old can do? Take the fucking hint, you fucking fraud: if you need AI to do the most basic tasks required of you as a writer, then you aren’t employable as a writer. Period. Fuck you. You’re a waste of everyone’s time.

AI Fraud Maria7649
https://archive.is/hSf34 All of her stuff is AI generated but she doesn't admit this anywhere. She's pretending like she drew everything in her gallery and the horny morons on DA (and formerly FA) are eating it up without taking a second to think about how this person is producing so much art so fast, and why the character has fucked up eyes, fingers, why her hair morphs into her arms etc. (Or they don't care because hurrhurr sexy furry girl) Unfortunately, DA allows AI so the fact that it's AI isn't enough. BUT! I sent a ticket to the helpdesk to ask about DA's policy on uploading AI that wasn't made using DreamUp (DAs AI generator) and the policy on transparency regarding AI generated art. Before this, she had two FurAffinity accounts but both have been banned for posting AI and being dishonest about the fact it's AI. I don't know what the first account was and I only know she had it because on her second FA account, Maria_1112 she admitted that she had been banned but just decided she'd make a new account. (Because that's how that works /s) She's not bothered by having been banned on FA, probably because she has much more freedom on DA to post her AI garbage and in just three days has accumulated 41 watchers. When complimented on the art, she gladly takes credit and quickly deletes any comments pointing out that it's AI or even mentioning AI. https://www.deviantart.com/maria7649/art/Reina-s-sister-again-1041017337

BEWARE AI SCAM VIDEOS USING CELEBRITIES
You probably already know but, Heads up if you don't already know, but AI has started using AI generated videos of celebrities and YouTubers to get you to click a link. It's scam and phising. Don't click it. Two examples below

Stop Faking It
AI art is theft and as an author, I’ll never use it for anything. Not to “visualize a character concept” or “give a cover artist an idea of what I want” or even “just for fun” and here’s why:
It supports the theft of the intellectual property of other artists. Full stop. Every time you use it “just for fun” you are complacent with that theft. The artists haven’t given their permission for their art to be used, and as artists—no matter the medium—we should all stand together. If we don’t, we are looking at a world where every stolen bit of creativity is mashed together until the artists/writers/musicians are gone and all that is left is a monotone puree of what looks, sounds, and reads the same.
I thought it was cool in the beginning too until I found out how the AI learns. It’s by nature scrapping years of hard work from artists, voice actors, writers, and musicians, then lining the pockets of tech bros and others unwilling to put the time in to learn a medium and put their whole heart into it. In the end, the soul that makes art is lost in the grind of money and machinery. As an artist, I personally made the conscious choice to stand against that, and I hope you will too.
Keep making great art that comes from your personal creativity and take pride in the time it takes to perfect your craft.

Hello sorry for tagging. I am very sick, my asthma is at its maximum level, my nose freezes, I have no medicine or food. I am in bad shape financially, I am a black disabled, who uses multiple medications, I pay for my food and lodging
Unfortunately I do not have all the resources to keep me safe, that is why I need your help, whatever you can contribute to me will be of great help.
Anyone else been getting asks in their inboxes of ppl asking for money? Usually, they leverage living situations or disability tokens to try to evoke a stronger moral response. I've gotten a handful of these lately. Normally, I report the account and move on. This time, however, I took a moment to look at the blog. I feel morally obligated to warn others who have reblogged/interacted/sent money to accounts like these that -
This is very likely a scam.
When you reblog a scam, it adds legitimacy to the scam. Don't do that.
Idk if people are fr sending money or if those claiming they have sent money are also part of the scam to make it seem more legitimate. Hopefully, nobody has actually sent their money and bank account information.
If you take a look at the blog, it seems average at first glance.
Tumblr media
On closer inspection, you will notice that there is a bunch of random shit reblogged with a big fat begging post pinned to the top.
Then, if you open up the archive:
Tumblr media
The account has only been active within the last month. In fact, the first post was made only 3 days ago. >.>
I have received asks trying to get me to publish their ask in order to promote/buy their art, music, etc. All of them similar to this ask & this account. I believe people are potentially falling for this and sending money. Scammers are implementing AI to create art and shit to make their claims more credible. Just be weary when receiving ANY request for money, no matter how legitimate it seems.
Do not click any links.
Do not share any information.
Do not send money.
It is highly likely that your identity/bank/credit card information will be stolen. Do not send money to accounts like this!

And another Art Scam on Etsy :) Another “top sales” shop you can find with a quick search The pinguins are a bit hard, but since all other pictures seem to be just generated as well. The corgy has a weird bum. If you draw like that, you oftentimes use reference Photos, where an animal looks... like an animal. In this picture, the bottom part is either to high or to low. The playing dogs have weird hands, which are melted with the table, which is weirdly shaped. And are these cards on the table? Or tiny cards? I know that insects are a topic where you don’t have to draw all correct, but on no continent on earth, do you have a grasshopper, with 2, 3 or 4? Legs emerging from one point. Legs which vanish after moving behind another leg. The antlers are wrong. The right picture is a combination of grasshopper and fly?. The eye sits behind the neck, not on the side oh and the poor insect lost a few of its legs ;v;

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes
just to watch that all fall apart in the last year or so and especially the last two weeks
there's nowhere good to go anymore for artists.
edit - a lot of people are saying the tags are important so actually, you'll look at my tags.
#please dont delete your accounts because of the AI crap. your art deserves more than being lost like that #if you have a good PC please glaze or nightshade it. if you dont or it doesnt work with your style (like mine) please start watermarking #use a plain-ish font. make it your username. if people can't google what your watermark says and find ur account its not a good watermark #it needs to be central in the image - NOT on the canvas edges - and put it in multiple places if you are compelled #please dont stop posting your art because of this shit. we just have to hope regulations will come slamming down on these shitheads#in the next year or two and you want to have accounts to come back to. the world Needs real art #if we all leave that just makes more room for these scam artists to fill in with their soulless recycled garbage #improvise adapt overcome. it sucks but it is what it is for the moment. safeguard yourself as best you can without making #years of art from thousands of artists lost media. the digital world and art is too temporary to hastily click a Delete button out of spite

PSA for Swifties: If you see a blog called @taylorswiftalbummaker
DO NOT ASK FOR AN ALBUM. That account is an AI scam that gives your information to a company that makes clickbait ads for porn sites.

Hey everyone, I can't really directly prove it this time, but I got another ad for a potential AI scam. This one is done very well, but I can tell from the lighting and blurred details that this doesn't come close to something official.
Also I couldn't find anything Funko Related that wasn't in a different style or not a custom.
Just be aware of that, thanks!

The latest thing is doing an AI video call. It is so fake but to the person who is desperate and wants to believe this is all real, it could be effective I suppose...
