Bionicle is weird yall

Okay so let's talk Bionicle. The Lego action figures with surprisingly deep lore and themes, and basically one of the coolest things to ever exist. You either love Bionicle or have not read Bionicle.

Who's your favorite? Mine has got to be Kopaka. For various reasons, including his general competence throughout the whole story. He's just pretty rad.

Now, you might be surprised I like Kopaka, since all things considered he's kind of a prick. He snarks at basically everything that enters his line of sight, and largely acts kind of stuck up due to his (admittedly justified) belief that he's the smartest person around. He spends the entire story fed up with everything else. He is completely and utterly convinced that he is the only sane person in the entire universe, and that nothing in the entirety of Mata Nui is behaving in a logical and rational way.

But see, here's the thing: all of that bluster about being the only rational thing around is complete bullcrap and lies, and here's why:

Kopaka, like all the original six Toa, is an amnesiac. He popped out of a magic canister in the ground and basically has no backstory to speak of since before he woke up he essentially didn't exist. And we know he's not a possible exception to this since, unlike the other Toa, he's the one we actually see it happen to. He has legit no idea who he is until Nuju tells him. What this means is simple: KOPAKA HAS NO FRAME OF REFERENCE. You can't judge something to be insane if you have not experienced sanity. Nothing is "irrational" in the abstract, you need context. Most people have extremely well-developed context obtained by living, but since Kopaka had not yet lived until he woke up he has NONE OF THAT.

And even if he did, he'd still be a massive hypocrite. Sure, the Matoran society and the Makuta are kind of weird, but Kopaka is a TOA, and Toa are a whole new kettle of craziness. Kopaka is a magic space warrior robot with the power to control the very concept of THIS STUFF IS COLD. His face is a magic mask that grants him X-ray vision and then gets even more powers later on. He can physically combine with other Toa to create a weird mega fusion Toa. Heck, after his first upgrade his primary weapon was skis. SKIS. He basically shapeshifts into a new body every time he goes somewhere else. And, as noted before, he legit just popped out of the ground one day, which makes him and his sibling Toa objectively weirder than all other Toa ever, since all the rest are transformed Matoran. Kopaka's entire existence is really freaking weird. He has no legs to stand on in his "I am the only rational being in the universe" belief. So where the heck did he get it from?

The simple answer: Mata Nui himself. When designing the Toa to act as a sort of internal anti-virus for all the weird garbage in his system, Mata Nui decided "You know what let's make the Ice one a prick who thinks he's sane" and somehow that idea perpetuated to the very end of the design process. The only reason Kopaka has to deal with everything else seeming completely bonkers to him is because Mata Nui, massive benevolent Troll that he is, *made him that way*. I bet when Kopaka finally made it to Bara Magna he was probably internally extremely relieved, because now he could judge the Agori by comparing them to the Matoran and vice versa instead of judging the Matoran on no actual justification whatsoever.

TLDR Kopaka is my favorite Bionicle because the entire premise of his personality is absurd and he probably spent the entire plot trying to internally justify it. Also ice powers go brrrrr

okay okay yes i KNOW i should be writing my fanfic BUT

Community characters as AJJ songs bc it's my favorite show and favorite band :] (If you want anyone added, feel free to ask!) Jeff Winger - Brave As A Noun. Okay, hear me out. This song not only applies to him lyrically but also shares the energy he has in the later seasons. He's just forcing himself to be satisfied with a life he doesn't really want, but also doesn't hate, is very season six finale. That is very much BAAN.

Britta Perry - Dissonance. It really has her energy. From the pilot to the finale, it fits her consistently despite her major character change. She is not put together. She hates herself because everyone's told her to. Britta is the best, but no one sees that. Not even herself. The only people who treated her with respect were the people she spent the least amount of time with! Think about it, she's had - what? - One touching scene with Duncan and Pierce each? She deserves more.

Abed Nadir - Goodbye, Oh Goodbye. Just listen to the song and you'll agree. This is mostly because of Troy's departure or in Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas. Whenever he has to confront his emotions, he has this distance between himself and everyone else. The opening lines, "I was thrown onto the ground/I was locked inside a basement/The guards went on vacation while I plotted my revolt." really, really, REALLY reminds me of 'Virtual Systems Analysis' when Annie's talking to Abed in the mind locker. It's a sad song, but it really fits him. The line "It's nothing like the nothingness that normally numbs one pain" is very clearly related to Troy. He got so used to Troy, and he never took him for granted, but Troy became a constant. He was Abed's anchor, and now he's gone.

Annie Edison - No one. This is Annie, particularly as the Ace of Hearts in 'A Fistful Of Paintballs'.

Troy Barns - A Big Day for Grimley. It's giving post-sea voyage Troy. He's changed, he's traumatized, and he's a little bit alone. He's proud of himself but is full of regret. What happened to Abed? He doesn't know.

Pierce Hawthorne - People Ii: The Reckoning. THIS IS PIERCE!!! Now, many of you know I love Pierce, so if you don't then you might not agree with this choice lmao

Pierce is sad. He is so sad. In Britta's words, he has spent so long looking out for himself, but he would give it all up for a shot at a family. He never gets that family. The study group never fully accepts him, despite his efforts and his becoming a better person with their help. Even Annie, the nicest to him in the group, seems to see him as a project or something. Like, he's just some old racist, homophobic old man, and not someone with 60+ years of trauma that he gradually works through with the help of his friends. He gains a brother. He defends the LGBTQ+ community. He wants nothing more than to be close to Jeff. And he dies alone.

So, yeah. "Here's to you Mrs. Robinson, people love you more, oh nevermind."

Dean Craig Pelton - Human kittens. No, I don't know why. Someone needs to give him a hug (Jeff).

Ben Chang - Dipping Things In Stuff. I don't know, he's batshit. He wants love though, just like the rest of us. This is very seasons 5/6 of Chang, I believe.

Buzz Hickey - Hate, rain on me. Tired, nihilistic, and praying for hope. I really like this song for him.

Elroy Patashnick - Normalization Blues. Don't ask me why. It works.

Ian Duncan - Fucc The Devil. Sad, distant, desperate, and hallow. But enough about Duncan. This song is the perfect example of, "I have what I want. Why am I still not okay?" which is what Duncan faces a lot. "I wanna go away for a while/Away for awhile/Because the things that I have seen/Are turning me into a shitty human being." Look me in the eyes and tell me that's not Ian. This man deserves so much more then people will let him have. Don't get me wrong, he's awful. But aren't we all, just a little bit?

The Thornes Ranked By Suspicion Level

Before the book goes any further and any more information is revealed, I wanted to go ahead and rank every Thorne + Duchess Eveline by how suspicious I am of them being the murderer. For fun, obviously, but I also want to see how this ages. I know I’m probably way off, but we’ll see!

Suspicion Level: None

12. Trystan. Trystan is the least suspicious because let’s be real. PB would never pull something as gutsy as making the only love interest the murderer. I don’t mind, though. It definitely wouldn’t fit with Trystan’s character.

11. King Maksim. I dunno. I feel like Maksim is kinda lost in the sauce in all of this. I’ll bet you he ends up murdered, though.

Suspicion Level: Low

10. Lydea. Lydea is a hardass, ambitious as hell, and takes no shit. That being said, I don’t really think she’d care too much about whatever agenda the murderer seems to have regarding the Heir Act. She seems like she’d be content just being the Captain of the Royal Guard. That said, it is a little suspicious how she allegedly knows everything that goes on in Drakovia but knew nothing about the murder that took place in the palace.

9. Emika. Emika is an internet bully and doesn’t seem to care for much else. It could all be an act, but they seem to overestimate how powerful and intimidating they actually are.

8. Kaspar. Similar reasons to Emika, except Kaspar is slightly more unhinged given that he stole the murder weapon simply because he admired it. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if he had some involvement in the murder, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just a red herring.

Suspicion Level: Medium

7. Sebastyan. Sebastyan has had it out for Trystan (and by extension, the MC) since they arrived in Drakovia. He had close ties with Juliana since he helped her with the Heir Act and was understandably upset by her death. I strongly suspect he (or suspects #6 and #4) was the Thorne sibling romantically involved with Juliana prior to Trystan’s engagement to her. I’m not super suspicious of him overall because he’d be too predictable as the murderer, but I’m definitely keeping my eye on him.

6. Vasili. I also feel like he could have been the one romantically involved with Juliana. Additionally, he’s been the third least present (only behind Duchess Eveline and Patryk) of the Thornes, and he seems like one of the most sane among them. He’d also be the second in line for the throne if the Heir Act was passed, which adds a little more suspicion. Other than that, there’s not much other reason for me to suspect him.

5. Marguerite. Olivia explicitly told us to beware anyone who was kind to us. None of the Thornes beside Trystan are actively nice to us besides Marguerite, who, like Vasili, is just a little too sane to be looked over. Also, maybe her fashion designs suck because she spends more time plotting and murdering than putting effort into her clothes. I am only half-joking.

Suspicion Level: High

4. Astrid. Astrid is known for leaving behind a trail of deceased lovers as well as her involvement with the local mafia. She is the third and final Thorne I suspect was romantically involved with Juliana. It definitely fits with her tendency to have dead lovers.

3. Patryk. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: he’s either the murderer’s right hand man or he’s completely innocent. My bet is right hand man. He’s unhinged enough that it’s feasible. Kaspar and Emika are all talk, but Patryk actually did try to poison the MC.

Suspicion Level: WEEWOOWEEWOOWEEWOO 🚨

2. Duchess Eveline. Eveline has three children with the king and gives me the impression that she feels that she doesn’t fit in with any of the Thornes. I mean, she tells the MC during their very first meeting that they made a good choice steering clear from the rest of them. Also, we sit next to her during the dinner, she reveals some insights about how the heirs treat her children, and let’s not forget the chapter description rhetorically asks if we’ll find ourselves sitting next to the murderer. I feel like she killed either Nadja or Juliana, one of the two, while suspect #1 killed the other one for a different reason unbeknownst to the other, whatever that may be.

1. Queen Viktoria. She’s angry and she’s powerful; a very dangerous combination. She shut down Juliana’s investigation in two weeks, which is definitely an eyebrow-raiser, especially since she as the queen would be irrelevant if the Heir Act allowing the king’s illegitimate children to take the throne was passed. Like I said with Eveline, I feel like she either killed Juliana or Nadja while Eveline killed the other. The two have very different personalities and motives, obviously, but share a glimmer of desperation. And desperation, as it happens, is one of the most powerful motivators in the world.

I'm being very sane and normal about the Ten album I swear. I might have listened to the album 176 times already but that's besides the point.

Ten's about to be my most streamed artist by the end of the year tbh. I'm SOBBING I didn't have money for preorder but I'm getting my little goblin hands on both versions of his album as soon as I can. I need king of the ult table's photocard if it kills me. I've gotten my hands on two WayV albums and Xiaojun I love you, you're secondary bias, but I need my boy.

(Okay to be fair I did pull a Ten in On My Youth but it was the Polaroid and I can't put that in my phone case.)

Not excited over the styling tho. The light on version is giving far too much Kai for me to be convinced it's Ten's flavor and I'm not a fan of the stylings they had him in for Nightwalker. Like the thumbnail image of him with no eyebrows???? I know SM hates him but genuinely why.

It's not like they don't know how to style him??? Was his normal stylist out of town for this promotion or something? Like we're just back to 'Baby Don't Stop' Ten again and while I'm not opposed, it was far from his best look. 😕 'Birthday' Ten slapped so hard and tbh that song should have been promoted on this mini album as the title track but that's besides the point.

Honestly while I didn't hate Nightwalker at first it ranked really low for me overall but it's deffo grown on me. I should know by now not to doubt WayV. 😅 I was making fun of the slight falsetto from On My Youth and was SO convinced it ruined the song on my first listen. I have far too many streams of that song now in both versions. Same thing with Low Low and Kick Back tbh.

I think it's just the Ten effect. Boy opens his mouth and I listen. 😂 He's up to 103 songs that he's participated in and it doesn't matter what I'm doing, my brain is hyper-focused every time he opens mouth.

It's still funny to be that getting into WayV at first, Ten wasn't even the one I was focused on. It was Lucas at first bc my friend biased him, then Xiaojun took my attention, and finally Ten decided to get the wrecking ball to my brain.

I'm not even normally one for dance line either because I'm a whore for vocalists, but Ten is the only person I'll actively go out of my way to watch dance practice videos for. (Besides ateez but that was plot related) Like I already mentioned Birthday but the amount of views I have on both the MV and dance practice alone is too many to count. Ten just moves like water and has masterful control over his body and UGH IT'S SO GOOD. Have I gone out of my way to watch each and every video I can find of Ten dancing? Maybe.

Tbh I think the only person that can compete with Ten for my attention dance wise is The8 from Seventeen. I just really desperately want those two to collab. Like I know you two know each other, you were on the same show at one point and you share the dreamies on the weekend. Minghao is literally besties with Winwin please I need this for my mental health. I'll even take Jun too at this point, please Ten I'm begging! 😭 Am I still on my WayV and Seventeen agenda maybe.

so it makes me SOOOOO happy when people say they get my characterization. getting beneath a character's skin and making them feel both 1) recognizable as said character but also 2) distinct in that they fit naturally in the universe i'm writing them in is The thing i'm most attuned to when writing i think. (that and sniffing out plotholes i am so pedantic about my story telling). focusing on the v3 kids gives me very ample time to flesh them out into a balanced mix of the two, but with characters that aren't mainstays it makes me very happy hearing that it's not just, like, a dialogue machine spitting plot-relevant lines and instead the actual character that's meant to be talking. you know? ALL of that to say nagito is notoriously a tough nut to crack, it's a crapshoot on what you'll see him characterized as (with the potential to be really REALLY good and really Uh not so much), so hearing good things about MY guy <3 makes my heart grow five sizes or whatever

i could ALSO yammer on for ages about the messy god drama that i've mapped out in my mind palace. i can get much more specific once the fic is actually wrapped but the big five ESPECIALLY. oh what a mess. oh what a nightmare. there's like 1 and a half sane motherfuckers in that club and the half is presently threatening to end the world along with half the others. so. LMFAO

relationship drama especially (i've said that word so much oopsies) among the gods but the big five.........oh great heavens. it's not even the newest relationship within the big five but naegami has sooooo many haters. junko (makotophobic), mikan (in an abusive relationship, functionally makotophobic), nagito (byakuyaphobic), fuyuhiko & peko (also byakuyaphobic), izuru (thinks they're both cringe), hajime (wouldn't send rantarou/shuuichi to camp no matter how much he begged).....and that's only characters we've seen on screen so far LOL. kokichi is not alone in being a hater rather he's the new generation of virulently homophobic gay people. love wins <3

(also as an aside of the 'eye candy' thing; in the human world makoto doesn't beat the trophy husband allegations, but among the gods the roles are 100% reversed LOLLLLLLLLL when shit isn't hitting the fan he gets sooooo bullied during meetings if makoto isn't there)

okay and LAST thing that i sorta briefly touched on a second ago: no, rantarou has not been to camp before! hajime and nagito have offered COUNTLESS times, especially since shuuichi's mother died, but they've remained adamant on their decision to keep them at home in defiance of junko. they have very, very good reason to be extra vigilant about their kids' safety, and when contending with rantarou's precognition + shuuichi's ignorance on the gods......rantarou has been very informed on things, from a very young age. obviously he doesn't get Everything, but he's kept pretty up-to-date on the affairs of the gods. he knows about camp, he knows there are about a dozen or so there, and he knows who the counselors are — knew who hajime was as soon as he began teaching at he and shuuichi's last school, and who nagito was/had his number from a chat he and hajime had very early on into his tenure as their history teacher.

💞 Who's your comfort character?

You know, it's probably still Thomas Magnum or Jonathan Black. I find very, very little in the fandoms that I enjoy for either one of them, but they're still my favorites. There's something I find weirdly relateable about them, despite having next to nothing in common with them, except like one or two superficial things (like snark). Buck from 9-1-1 is another, but specificially the bond between him and Bobby (because we adopt EVERYONE in my family, so I find it comforting to find it in shows I like)

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

Just to piggy back off the previous answer - Thomas Magnum and Jonathan Black and actually, Steven from Haunting of Hill House. I have like a 20k half written fic that in a PLOT TWIST I have decided to write like 99% of it before posting it because I don't want it to just whither and die like I've done with a few of my longer stories that I just don't know how to end. For Steven, I know like 90% of the fandom hates him, but I think it's because they AREN'T him, and I come from a long distinguished line of severely mentally ill or addict family members, and I know what it's like to be the only sober/sane one in the family and be judged for it.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

When Found Family is no longer "implied" but blatantly said. The entire episode of Blood Brothers for Magnum, "In Another Life" for 9-1-1, like anything in the Star Trek fandom.....::le sigh:: Yesssss...allll the Found Family Acknowledgement

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Straight tie between Lucifer fandom "Damnatio Memoriae" and Agents of SHIELD "Running Up That Hill", because NO ONE WAS MORE SURPRISED THAN ME about how they turned out. I was a 100% pants writer for both of them, and I am a little annoyed that I can't seem to manage the same (I think) quality when I plan things out. I had literally no idea what I was doing with either one of them, other than I was annoyed at canon/show canon at the time and I was like "I'LL FIX YOU, MF" and then spite-wrote like 100-200k words fueled by rage at dropped story lines and half assed character arcs.

I Believe in Santa (2022)

This one was... interesting.

So, our main character Lisa (Christina Moore), is a writer, but seems like mostly opinion pieces, so not quite journalism but not quite creative writing either. The kind of writer which requires the least work and the least talent. Off to a great start. We open on Lisa at the 4th of July writing an article about how Independence Day is a better holiday than Christmas. Which is a strong opinion to have. Liking the 4th of July is completely fine and normal, but I don't like comparing national holidays to religious traditions because they don't feel like the same category to me. I could go on, but I want to focus on the movie.

Lisa has an 8 year old named Ella (Violet McGraw). It's a recurring plot device that Ella's dad makes promises to both Lisa and Ella and makes last minute excuses to not show up frequently. This is how Lisa and her best friend Sharon (Lateefah Holder) end up at a summer fair for Ella's dance group performance when Ella gets lost in front of the free legal advice booth (which is not a thing I've ever encountered and I am a fan of fairs generally). Tom (John Ducey) notices that Ella looks lost and scared pretty quickly, takes her out of the crowd so she doesn't get more lost, and sends his friend (who is also working the booth) Assan (Sachin Bhatt) to the lost children booth (also not a thing I've seen, but this does seem more likely, and I don't have children yet, so I might have just not noticed). Nobody is working at the lost children booth, but it's fine because Lisa happens to walk by and see Ella, which is how Lisa and Tom meet.

The movie skips ahead to the end of November, and Lisa and Tom have been together the whole time and Tom already has a good relationship with Ella. But Lisa finds out Tom loves Christmas (like, a very uncomfortable amount) and has a freak out about it, but they don't break up. This happens a few times, actually, where Lisa finds out more about the depth of Tom's love for Christmas, freaks out about it, but they stay together because they love each other. It's only weird because it doesn't actually seem like Lisa and Tom love each other in the movie at any point. Like, watching them kiss is kinda weird. Most healthy, sane people who find out their partner has a weird obsession would also just shrug it off as a quirk.

The main conflict is kind of stupid. I watched this movie less than 24 hours ago and fully forgot what even happened for a minute. I had to try to remember what led to the breakup. It seems even more stupid once the resolution happens.

Ok, so it wasn't like painful to watch. The acting wasn't terrible, there was just no chemistry between the people who were supposed to have chemistry. Tom is most likely a serial killer (I'm pretty sure they make jokes about this in the movie). Lisa sucks. Sharon is just kinda there so Lisa has someone to talk to. Assan is the best character in the movie and he doesn't get any good lines until the conflict (rip off). It feels mean to rate it this low, but any higher would be lying. Overall, 1 star.

I have finally watched the bad batch episode 4 and 5!

After the relatively dark action heavy first three episodes-I knew something a touch less “good gods everyone is going to die in this politically highly dubious situation” was going to come up. Could I have guessed if you asked me that these episodes would be about Star Wars go karts and another dodgy treasure hunt that went super drastically wrong-no probably not?

I am, however, starting to find it highly suspicious that the only complete filler episode of S1 (infested) had the plot line “maybe Sid is touch dodgy” and so did one of these. If the Batch are still working for Sid by the end of this season I will be very surprised-wether they decide to leave for various reasons, or they get sold out/discovered, I don’t think the narrative is lending itself to the life of dubious side quests continuing indefinitely.

Hunter is starting to worry me though. Bless him he needs a hug. He looked so tired in that last episode And it’s become clear that Echo and Hunter are the responsible adults in the group. Without them they end up embroiled in dangerous criminal activities-and they seemed to mutually decide to tag along to make sure sane decisions were made and nobody fell to their deaths, got eaten by a grumpy lizard, or managed to destroy an entire planet. The fact Hunter is the way he is-it’s lending itself in my mind to the fact they won’t be doing this forever.

Also was it just me but was that last episode a Hobbit reference? It seemed Hobbity. Door in mountain, dangerous jewel?

I’m just really interested to see where this is going. I know it’s going somewhere, you can feel all the story undercurrents moving beneath the surface, I’m yelling at them to just hurry up and get coherent! 😅

Kardeşlerim Ep 58

Omer jumped into the pool and got Berk out. Doruk kept asking Omer if Berk was Alive. Omer said that he was breathing but they need to call an ambulance. Berk said that he's okay and doesn’t need to go to the hospital. Aybike asked what happened and Doruk was about to say that he punched him but Berk cut him off and said that he slipped and fell on his own. Later, Doruk asked Berk if he was okay and Berk said: "Shut up, I don't want to hear your voice" and then he left. Doruk explained to everyone that he fought with Berk and that's why he fell into the pool. 

Tolga's father came by the house. Tolga and Leyla were surprised when they saw him. His father called him stupid so many times and I guess that's what he calls him on a daily basis. I have a very good idea for a plot ! Let's send the whole family to a psychiatrist. Tolga and his father got issues. I think Leyla is just annoying and probably the only sane person in this family. The writers are trying to justify Tolga’s behavior through the scene with his dad. Just because you’re a victim of abuse it doesn’t mean that you can abuse others. Nothing justifies Tolga’s behavior ! Leyla called Omer and told him that Asiye is with them. Omer came by and Leyla helped him apologize to Asiye (as if he doesn't know how to do that 🙄). She basically fed him his lines and I guess they are friends now.

Doruk called Akif and told him that Berk found out the truth about Resul’s death. Berk and Ayla came to the Atakul's house. Ayla was so pissed. She told them that they are going to pay for what they did. She also said that Doruk almost killed Berk because he wanted to go to he police "What kind of family are you?". Istg everyone in this family has either killed someone or has hidden the truth about someone’s death. Ayla called the police to the Atakul’s house and they dragged them to the police station. The lawyer said that they will not be arrested because there is no evidence. Ayla told Nebahat that she is her enemy from now on. Berk told Doruk: "You are dead to me". Btw I think Ayla and Omer’s step mom have a scene together in the next episode.

Unfortunately, Afra is not a nice person 😭 She knows who Oglucan and Aybike are but she doesn't want them to know who she is. She said she wants to surprise them but she said it in an evil tone. She tried to hide when she saw them at the bus stop. At school she gave them chocolate to celebrate her mom’s marriage. She also told them that her step father likes her and calls her his daughter. She is manipulating Oglucan and has no interest in him for now.

Berk did not want to talk with Doruk at school. He went to the radio room and basically told the whole school the truth about his dad's murder and how Doruk almost killed him because he wanted to go to the police. The Dean came into the radio room and didn't let Berk finish. He told him to come to his office. He is going to be punished for what he did. Everyone asked Doruk if what Berk said is true and Doruk told them the "truth". LMAO I don’t know what Doruk told the class for them to be so “understanding”. Either he is lying or he believed the lies that his parents told him. Aybike of course sided with Berk. Asiye told Berk that he was overacting and Doruk has nothing to do with his dad’s murder and Berk told her "Put yourself in my shoes ! if his parents  kill your father, are you going to be like "oh my love thank you so much" ". Berk is definitely watching that video and exposing Akif but I wonder when he’ll do it. Also, hopefully, he won’t die after he watches it.

After class, everyone went to the ATV field. Aybike and Berk were paired together. 

Aybike: “Are you feeling better?”

Berk: “I don’t think I am going to be okay for a while”

Aybike: “Berk don’t say that ! Maybe your anger won’t go away but you will calm down. Really ! Believe me!”

Berk: “That’s not how it looks to me ! We’ll see”

Aybike: “Don’t allow this anger to consume you and end you or you will look like you’re the one in the wrong even thought you are right. Don’t do that !”

Berk: “ So what if I am right, Aybike? What’s going to happen if I am right? No one is going to get punished for what they did ! Come on put on your helmet and let’s go”

Berk was driving recklessly and tried to push Doruk out of the path. Doruk and Asiye ended up falling off their ATV and Asiye was injured. Aybike told him to stop and she went to check up on Asiye. The others caught up and asked them if they got into an accident because of an animal and Doruk said: “no it was because of that maniac”. Omer told them to apologize to each other. Doruk apologized to Berk but Berk didn’t.

Doruk: “Why are you still laughing? You cornered us and that’s why we fell ! ”

Berk: “It could’ve been worse”

Aybike: “ What does that mean ? What do you mean it could’ve been worse? Get back to your senses please !”

Berk: “What’s up with you Aybike?”

Aybike: “ Your anger has made you lose your mind ! Do you not see that ? There is no excuse for what you did ! I could’ve gotten hurt ! On top of that, because of your anger, Asiye could’ve been badly hurt !”

Berk: “You didn’t protect Asiye, who you love so much, like this when she left you under the glass” 

WAIT WHAT 😬?????? Maybe Berk from ep 58 should’ve talked with Berk from ep 56 and got on the same page because I think I am going crazy over here but didn’t he side with Asiye in that ep ???????? 

Aybike: “What are you saying ?? What are you talking about? ”

Berk: “Oh for god’s sake Aybike ! When it suits you she is your dear cousin and when it doesn’t --”

Aybike: “Enough ! Shut up ! I think you're not thinking straight ! Go and disappear until you get back to your senses !”

Berk: ”Do whatever you guys want !”

and then he left. 

So I guess Aybike and Berk are not speaking to each other for a while. Also, I don’t think Berk is going to apologize to her in the next episode. I don’t think anyone can reach him right now, not even Aybike.

Doruk kept bitching the whole episode about how he and his parents are innocent and how Berk should be more understanding LMAO. I don’t know how he is innocent when he almost killed Berk. He kept saying that he wanted to protect his parents like that’s a good excuse for what he did. Look, Berk has every right to be angry because his father was taken from him ! Remember how sad and depressed he was after his dad died 😭 But I wish he would’ve directed that anger toward Doruk and not other people.

Berk saw Omer and Leyla sitting together while he was driving. He thinks that Omer is cheating on Susen with Leyla. I don’t know if he took a picture but I think he might tell Susen in a moment of anger about this if Omer got involved in his fight with Doruk.

Omer's dad and his family came to Sevgi's house and basically kicked the Eren siblings out. I love how we thought Resul is going to be an asshole but he turned out to be a cool and nice character and we thought Omer's father was going to be nice but he turned out to be an asshole. Btw, I don't think he's going to accept Omer after he finds out that he is his real son.

The trailer showed, Omer’s new siblings joining Attaman school because there is no other high school in Istanbul except this one ! Sarp fought with Omer and Doruk as soon as he got there. No idea if Berk saw the fight but he told Sarp that he can sit with him. Omer’s sister sat with Doruk. I don’t know her name yet but she could be Yasmin. Also, Sevgi might comeback next ep. 

I don’t why this episode made me miss Harika so much 🥺 I hope they will bring her back in the finale. Overall, the episode wasn’t that good. Hopefully, next week’s ep will be better.

Everything is tense for a while and eventually sebek comes to expect your soft humming of a song that Lilia always used to sing to him and the others growing up.

Silver brings you his father's favorites. All three of the boys come every night after class to the infirmary to listen to their new parent tell stories of their world. I can only imagine how the reveal of Lilia being the one to bring them to twst went!🤣😋

three hopes - azure gleam/moon spoilers below

i have a lot of thoughts and nowhere to dump them so hello again tumblr here i am to post something other than art

so i beat azure gleam a couple days ago (replayed it immediately to get dimitri and mercie’s supports that i missed - which i’ve done now) and i’m left feeling a little.... underwhelmed?

someone i follow on twitter just beat their run of golden wildfire and they said they felt pretty underwhelmed by it and heard that the other two paths were the same so that made me feel a little better about my less than glowing experience of the game

the gameplay is fun as hell but i think the story leaves a little to be desired? by the time i reached the final chapter, i had the same feeling as when i’m playing a persona game and everyone’s like “ok this is the final boss!” when we haven’t fought a godlike entity yet - aka it ain’t actually over yet. but it was?

after the two year timeskip, the empire declares war on the church. the kingdom takes in the church after the empire seizes garreg mach, effectively putting ourselves in the line of fire. from then on, we’re told over and over that this war will not end until we’ve conquered the empire, aka defeating and killing edelgard. but that doesn’t happen? after reclaiming garreg mach, dimitri kills thales and leaves edelgard alive, and then the route ends???

i recall seeing a post a while back saying how azure moon was a good path, in spite of not directly involving dealing with those who slither in the dark (which i agreed with) so that was a very interesting recurring thought as i played through azure gleam; the path revolving completely around unraveling the truth behind the conspiracy of the tragedy of duscur and getting rid of those responsible - namely twsitd

at the end of part one, dimitri and edelgard face off against each other in a cutscene when suddenly thales shows up. he forces the crest stone(?) of maurice into edelgard and she basically becomes the hegemon husk she was at the end of azure moon but from then she’s completely under thales’ control - vacant eyes, confused expression, jagged speech - and remains that way until the end of the route (save that one chapter in zahras in the true ending)

in that sense i can *somewhat* understand leaving her alive as she was under the control of thales and even after he dies, she’s still not quite back to her usual self. but she was fully sane and in control when she declared war on the church. once recovered from whatever curse her now-dead captor placed on her, she could just as easily begin her crusade anew?

also in the other ending (i had a separate save file after the path split) when you kill byleth/sothis? i totally didn’t believe it. i thought they’d come back as revenge in the final chapter or something but they really did die just like that and it was actually really disappointing

this point isn’t totally relevant to the plot but at the start of part two, claude lends some of his deer to our army, which was nice of him. but sending lorenz and then not letting me support him in that chapter was maddening. by the last chapter i was looking through my supports which would have been 100% complete if not for that stupid lock next to his name WHY WOULD YOU SEND HIM IF I CAN’T SUPPORT HIM anyway

complaining aside, here are some things i did enjoy/thought were neat

some people might complain about this point but, softie that i am and still so very attached to my students, i’m glad that i didn’t really have to kill any of the former students. well i mean, there was caspar unfortunately. but he was literally the only one??? the fact that we didn’t even have to kill edelgard but had to kill caspar was mind-boggling honestly but that kinda makes me scared for the other routes bc i doubt they’ll be as forgiving as our wishy-washy weak-willed king (lovingly)

i saw someone mention this before but the fact that in three houses, dimitri’s  immediately smitten with byleth, whereas in three hopes he’s like “uhh are you sure you want to come back to the academy“ to shez is hilarious. that being said, seems like lin and hapi wear their hearts on their sleeves and will fall for just about anyone who will give them positive attention (watching lin run away at the end of his A support with shez SENT ME)

i will never get used to felix hugo no-longer-a-bitch fraldarius but his A supports with dimitri and his father had me so emotional. i’m also so invested in his relationship with shez?? (platonic or otherwise) outside of dimitri, i think felix might actually be shez’s closest ally? the gift he gives them is handmade and FITS PERFECTLY IN SHEZ’S HANDS HELLO???? (i made save files and gave the merc whistle to everyone to see what i got in return)

speaking of felix, in part one he goes into detail about that mission he went on with dimitri after the tragedy of duscur - the whole ordeal that lead to him calling him “the boar” - dimitri was smiling as he cut down the leader. taking that into consideration, i only discovered this recently but, after battles, dimitri’s character model is smiling... i mostly mained shez on my first run but i’ve been cycling through everyone this time to level up combat arts and after every battle, everyone is just neutral no matter what their text may say, but dimitri is very clearly smiling which is a very neat reference to this conversation but also a little disturbing..........

we get to find out yuri’s real name (kind of) :) but....... i said i was done complaining bUT- idk seems maybe a little inconsistent with three houses? his mother named him after a star but in his supports with hapi, it’s revealed that he actually doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about when they’re stargazing. though i guess that can be explained away bc when he’s telling shez to “look up at that bright star- no not that one. well i guess it doesn’t matter if you know which one it is or not” maybe he doesn’t know which one it is either. or maybe that’s the only star he does know. i’ll give you a pass on this one intsys

i really do love arval...... shez makes one comment saying “you’re not my mom” one time and immediately i’ve decided that is incorrect. arval is your mom now. also love despite the mom comment and myson’s “his (epimenides) core” comment, they still keep arval gender-neutral (even though they have access to female-only classes but it’s ok they [intsys] tried)

remember when the trailer was released and we saw dimitri sitting somewhere sadly and then a hand reaches out and we all thought it was rodrigue? i damn near lost my mind when i found out it was felix and then dedue comes in and i immediately start crying. i feel like we don’t appreciate dedue enough. just in general. he’s a very good man

i also appreciate ingrid’s maturity in three hopes. when i saw her talking to a duscur soldier offering to teach them her lance work i was so proud. i also feel like i never appreciated ashe enough in three houses but three hopes surely rectified that. i greatly appreciated his paralogue

the non-canon cutscenes (the ones that happen if you don’t recruit byleth i mean) are so fascinating to watch like sothis is such a bitch lmfao

idk why but byleth referring to jeralt by name instead of “father” really stood out to me for some reason. also the fact that their unique starting class is called “silverheart”. i also like that they have some snark at the end of their A support with shez in that they actually somewhat refer to themselves as the goddess

flayn totally blowing it and calling saint indech “uncle indech”. also seteth when he’s talking about the treatise written by the “tactical genius” saint cichol

in three houses they at least seem to keep jeritza’s real name a private concern but as soon as he joins mercie’s all “emile emile emile”. speaking of him though, at the beginning - when rescuing monica - we find out that he’s been at the academy teaching for at least a year. he’s younger than mercie. we can argue that mercie/shez/byleth are all around the same age. yet they make shez a student and byleth and jeritza professors??? i mean i know shez is kinda dumb bUT-

While I'm writing some Jancy fanfic at 3 in the morning here's a ramble.

I will literally never defend Billy's Actions. Though i love his character i cannot love him. It's very clear that he's meant to be interpreted as a racist abusive peice of garbage. Because he IS that. From what I've heard, Runaway max and Lucas on the line even confirms that. And Any sane/poc fan of stranger things knows that. Though, I'd like to acknowledge one thing.

Billy's death is sad. And it's not bad to cry at it.

Some people make some braindead ass takes like "if you feel bad for billy you're inherently a racist" which I personally think is kinda just trivalizing a inherently fucked up belief and mixing it with human empathy.

Not for any sort of "Oh he could've improved!!! " reason it's because it wouldn't have been enough. Would Max even forgive him for his abuse? Could someone like billy even change? Someone brought up and raised in these racist and abusive ideals even attempt to change and would the duffer Brothers even write it in a half competent manner??? And above all else. What made Billy's death sad to me was the fact I RELATED to him.

Obviously not on the racist part I am literally a poc.

But on picking up your abusers behaviors. Picking up what they've done to you and projecting it on anyone you can so you can live. So you can go on with your day. Because coming to terms with the idea your ideologies are harmful is so hard. You want to give up and instead of deal with all that emotion sloshing around inside you you want to just let it all out on someone and you have to realize.

Those thoughts are bad. It's bad to do what was done to you on others.

It's horrible realizing that. Because then you have to come to terms with the idea that, you are the person people would cry to friends about, you are real. And what you did was real. And what you've hurt was real. Because you can't go back and fix it.

TL;DR: just thinking about Billy, he's a racist peice of garbage but that small snippet of a backstory plus his death were the best few seconds of season 3 to me because it does more then enough. It doesn't justify Billy's racist or abusive actions it leaves him to die. In one final, unsure moment of self sacrifice. Because who would know if he'd improve if he'd survive? If he even could? And the rest of his character to be pondered over. At the end of the day, he's a plot device for maxes benefit but he is one I enjoy immensely

And these are too different things But it's another topic and you can still think other way, but I am absolutely assured in all my investigations and conclusions and hope hoyo will not be that stupid and contradictive as most of their fanbase. Can I please hear your Vegas Pete thoughts? For me this whole relationship seems so wrong like I have a feeling that Pete will get hurt (not in a physical sense cause duh we’ve seen and like it’s a whole other story but emotionally), tbh it seems damaging to any sane person. How is that supposed to work, I’m so confused with this plot line. Also can please someone take Vegas to therapy like asap

Piling on my previous ask- the consent issue bothers me and it sorta seemed like there was one but I can’t shake the feeling he was under some kind of influence. I have nothing against bdsm, fully consensual one, but the circumstances are so not right, that s like Stockholm syndrome or smth, I had alarms going on in my head through this scene. I’m sorry I’m rambling it all here. I just wanted to discuss it somewhere and since u hooked me up on this show-here I am) feel free to ignore

I very much get where you're coming from, don't worry at all for wanting to come ramble with me about it. Pete and Vegas are for sure epically fucked up. Everyone in the show is, but Pete and Vegas are definitely taking that into a new stratosphere. It seems to be the point and it's definitely a big part of why their fans like them so I'm trying to take that into account as I watch (i.e. judge it within the context of the fucked up fictional world they exist within).

In terms of your issue grappling with consent, I think it's very much the Beauty & the Beast problem - that you can't really 'choose' someone when you're not free to do so. Consent in general in the show is a muddy area. What actually impressed me is that the writing seems to be aware of this (and though I try not to know much about the book - I still know this is in very obvious contrast to it). This was true for Kinn and Porsche as well which is why they had Kinn offer Porsche freedom (ep 6), and showed Porsche choosing Kinn instead, and then reinforced that with him saying as much verbally in the hospital scene. The show understood that Porsche couldn't truly choose Kinn in a situation where he was 'trapped' by his employment with the main family, or you leave an audience always wondering if it was a matter of choice or circumstance. Now obviously Pete's situation is vastly different (kidnap and torture will do that lmao), but they seem to be going the same route step-by-step. First they had Pete initiate the kiss/ sex, as a step towards giving him some agency and power (which was obviously extremely needed at this stage), and I am expecting they will give him back his freedom (whether he leaves Vegas or Vegas lets him leave I don't know) and it will be at that point they have him 'choose' Vegas - when he is free to do so. So in that sense I imagine you’ll be put a little more at ease in the future. I don’t think it’s unusual for you (or any viewer) to feel uncomfortable at this stage. Like... the music alone in the sex scene between them was unsettling af. I do think Pete and Vegas are supposed to make us feel pretty conflicted and uncomfortable at this stage. I think the show is going for that ‘draw you in despite yourself’ feeling to emulate how Pete feels (for me personally, the sex scene wasn’t effective in that way but the scenes involving the hedgehog/ Vegas’s grief were). 

Now as for my own feelings towards Vegas and Pete... I’m finding it easier to get into them now as I’m enjoying the more vulnerable scenes and conversations. I found their scenes in ep 11 horrific up until the conversation where Pete talks about his dad. Then I was a little intrigued (and it’s also hard not to get a bit emotionally invested when they’re both being vulnerable as the actors have been killing it). I figured this ep would be the turning point for me in deciding whether I would enjoy them in the future or not. And while I have to admit they don’t make me rabid the way they do other fans, I’m at a stage where I’m finding the storyline interesting and I think it has potential to really hook me later on. The sex scene was actually the least interesting scene for me but I understood the purpose it was serving and what it was communicating in terms of their dynamic and play of power between them. The conversations between them have been working for me much more. But Vegas is Vegas and it’s to be expected that I (and I imagine many viewers) are still feeling extremely wary. At this stage I am comfortable to sit back and see where things go. I’m not enormously invested in them, but I’m at least at a stage now where I can watch their scenes with interest. 

I hope that ramble made sense! I’ve been grappling with what I think of them since ep 11 and I imagine that will continue into the next couple of eps!
