Was writing something about Death Note and accidentally wrote "Lekko" instead of Mello somehow and now I'm imagining a Wammy's House kid named Lekko who's a HUGE Mello fanboy but is also addicted to fanfiction and writes extensive Mello/Near fanfic. Like. Lekko is a prodigy, like the rest of the of WH kids, but his quirk is that he ONLY manifests his genius through slash fic. He somehow incorporates extremely complex concepts into his work. He developed a new theory on quantum mechanics. He figured out who Jack the Ripper really was. He's invented a conlang that would impress Tolkien. But nobody ever realizes this because Lekko shares that information through comically bad Mello/Near slash fic and no one reads it.
Lekko solved the Kira case soon after Near and Mello were called in to replace L. He wrote an elaborate 300-chapter fic about it, focusing on a slow burn rival-Kira-hunters-to-lovers plotline, and Light is outed as Kira within the first 15 chapters. The exact mechanics of the Death Note (though it isn't called that in the fic) are outlined in full by the halfway mark. Nobody reads it because it has spelling and grammar issues rivaling My Immortal.
Mello, of course, is extremely frustrated by his "biggest fan" and wants nothing to do with Lekko. Near honestly didn't care (he's Near) but one time years after Light's defeat he reads Lekko's magnum opus on a whim because he's bored and bursts out laughing for the first time in his life.

"average gothamite kidnapped 4 times a month" factoid actualy just statistical error. average Gothamite kidnapped 0.25 times a month. Tim Drake-Wayne Georg, who lives in wayne manor & is kidnapped over 10,000 times each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

Imagine Thomas and Martha Wayne getting resurrected via whatever the bullcrap of the week is, and it NOT getting undone once the conflict is over. Bruce and the kids are experiencing All The Emotions but Thomas and Martha are just happy to be there and are wholeheartedly rolling with it.
"The Waynes are a superhero family now? That's amazing! Martha, isn't it amazing?"
"Yes, dear. So much better than the organized crime we used to do. Oh, don't worry Bruce, we really only did it out of obligation, we would have jumped to vigilantism long ago had we known it was an option."
"Martha, we have grandchildren! They're adorable!"
"Thomas you've already met most of them."
"Yes but now I can appreciate them! And spoil them!"
"Thomas, honey, if you actually act as an enabler for our grandbabies I think you'll end up giving our poor Bruce a heart attack."
"Damian has a sword Martha! A sword! We have swords in the family! This is wonderful!"
"I know, Thomas."
Thomas has to be physically restrained from learning how to be a vigilante. He's too old, and Bruce and the rest don't want him to die *again*. He can help Alfred. Doesn't stop him from badgering his grandchildren about their hobbies. Ostensibly it's because he wants to get to know them better, but they all know he just really wants to learn how to do the cool things they all do. He's banned from using the Batcomputer at least thrice.
Martha at first seems content to just sit in the house and play the role of old-fashioned housewife but one day she inexplicably appears in Jason's apartment, supposedly to return one of his guns after he dropped it. He could have sworn it was fully loaded when he lost it, and now it's empty. Martha's fingerprints are the only ones on the gun. He decides to not ask questions.
They both neglect to inform the high society of Gotham that they're alive, and it takes a while for them to realize this. Gradually every rich person in Gotham takes their turn having a breakdown over having to deal with even more Wayne bullcrap. How come the Waynes are the only ones that seem to be immune to death???

Find me a game where all the elemental powers have nontraditional colors.
Make fire burn bright green, a haunting reminder of life and death, and interesting copper-related worldbuilding implications.
Make lightning a harsh violet. A crashing power from the sky, from the gods, an element more regal than the greatest kings.
Make water a deep orange, the color of the ocean at sunset, a symbol of crashing waves. And fruit juice. And creamsicles.
Make ice black. Not cold, not colder, but the coldest. Chilling regrets. No one will leave this beautiful mountain with their lives.
Make earth a dark blue. The desert at night. Gemstones. Magical energy courses through the ground like veins. This world is alive.
Make wind yellow. You can barely see it, rippling across the fields. A trick of the eye. Then it picks up dust and pollen and becomes worse.
Make nature be red. The hardiest of trees and ferns, the most beautiful of flowers. And endless leaf pile to jump in.
Make psychokinesis white. Instantaneous bursts of thought, like inspiration. Neurons dancing. Brighten the world with your mind.
Make darkness brown. A deep brown, death and decay, all shall erode. And yet comforting, reassuring. Do not fear the inevitable.
Make light a searing pink or magenta, that doesn't shine so much as it assaults your senses. This is power. I wonder what it means.
I want to play a game like this.
Also I want a creamsicle.

You need to understand how much this broke me.
I'm taking a class on Daoism. I have my textbook open in another tab. I read the first couple posts in this chain and thought "oh, this will be fun, I've got Eastern Philosophy on one tab and Western Philosophy on another". And I felt very proud of myself for being amused as I flip back and forth like a deranged lunatic who thinks multitasking works.
Anyway right as I start reading a passage about divine rejuvenation and achieving perfection, I flip back to this tab and finally scroll to the last post in the chain.
Chicken.
Now any time my brain thinks of perfection, it will think of chickens.
I can't stop laughing.
the default way for things to taste is good. we know this because "tasty" means something tastes good. conversely, from the words "smelly" and "noisy" we can conclude that the default way for things to smell and sound is bad. interestingly there are no corresponding adjectives for the senses of sight and touch. the inescapable conclusion is that the most ordinary object possible is invisible and intangible, produces a hideous cacophony, smells terrible, but tastes delicious. and yet this description matches no object or phenomenon known to science or human experience. so what the fuck

Danganronpa 1: There are exactly two brain cells. One of them got murdered so everyone else fights over the remaining one.
Danganronpa 2: There is not a single brain cell on the island. Fortunately, the Mastermind didn't plan for this.
Danganronpa V3: There are far too many brain cells. Somehow this ends up making everything much worse than it should have been.

Most KH Fans: "Nomura please make Kairi be playable for an extended amount of time in Kingdom Hearts IV. She deserves it."
Me: "Nomura please make Kairi be the superboss of Kingdom Hearts IV. Have her make Lingering Will and Yozora look like easy fights. Give her lasers and Keyblade transformations with all the fixings. She deserves it."

*in time traveler prison*
"Hey, kid. What are you in for?"
"...I tried to kill Hitler."
"Ha! Been there. Don't worry, literally everyone tries that, you'll be out of here in no time. Literally."
"That's... comforting, I guess. What about you?"
"Me? I won March Madness. Twice."
"Daaaaaang."
"Yeah, I know. Seemed like a good idea at the time. That's basically nothing compared to what that guy sitting over there did, though. If the rumors are true, at least."
"What rumors? What did he do?"
"Well, you didn't hear this from me, but *supposedly* he broke the first law of time travel."
*gasp* "He tried to-"
"Not tried. That guy *successfully* managed to attend Stephen Hawking's Time Traveler Party."
"No. Way."
"Yeah, way. He's NEVER getting out of here."

The four types of meat that humans seem to commonly eat are Mammals (beef, pork, lamb, etc), Birds (chicken, turkey, etc), Fish (...fish), and Arthropods (like shellfish). The fifth one, legally speaking, is honey. I'm not sorry.
Do you think science or religion will ever discover a Fifth Meat?
Only four meats are possible. The Fifth Meat is an impossible myth
Yes, some day we will find the Fifth Meat
The government already has the Fifth Meat and is keeping it from us
