Grimhilda, the ghost typer trainer from Kalos!

I've posted very little about her, unless you read some of my fics I don't bring her up that much.

More lore and drawings of her under the cut!

Her name is Grimhilda, originally from Alola and had been good childhood friends with Plumeria. Unfortunely Grimhilda had to move to Kalos because of her family and lost contact with Plumeria.

When things in Kalos didn't pan out (Grimhilda doesn't get along with her family because of her love of ghost types), she looks to moving back to Alola. She finds Plumeria and they reconnect, to her shock she found out her best friend was the former admin of the now disbanded team skull.

Plumeria insists that Grimhilda moves in with what's left of the old team skull crew until she gets back on her feet.

But Plumeria doesn't know how to drive, so she makes Guzma go pick her and her luggage up. Guzma doesn't know much about Grimhilda so he wasn't sure what to expect. He expected somebody just like Plumeria, strict, a little mean, but overall fun still.

The minute he meets her Guzma is very much surprised.

Grimhilda is a very shy/timid person. Whenever she meets someone new or is just nervous she talks and talks without realizing and hides behind her hair. Guzma sees her just going on and trying to make sure things don't get awkward by talking about not making things awkward and he feels his heart skip a beat because wow it's not what he was expecting at all. She is nothing like Plumeria.

He falls in love at first sight because:

She's gothic (ghost typer users am i right?)

She's really cute when she's mumbling

She is smol

They drive back to the new and fixed up Shady House. Grimhilda reunites with her bestie and she falls in love with Alola, the place already feeling more like home than Kalos ever did.

She's still really nervous and doesn't like to wander around the house without Plumeria, but eventually she runs into garden and sees Guzma with his bug pokemon. He panicks for a minute, unsure of what to say, but Grimhilda is in awe of Golisopod. The giant bug sweeps her up in a hug and Guzma panics even because he thinks it's gonna scare her off and he really doesn't want to make her feel threatened or scared or make Plumeria mad.

But Grimhilda laughs and opens up a little.

Later that day Guzma asks if she would want to go up against him in a pokemon battle. A switch flipped and Grimhilda becomes super excited and loud.

And so they have a battle, and that's when Guzma sees why her and Plumeria were best friends.

Grimhilda is very intense during her battles with her strange Doublade.

She wipes the floor with Guzma and immediately is in tears crying because she beat him and she feels bad. And Guzma laying on the ground, wind knocked out of him from the battle and thinking to himself 'Shit she's cute and scary'.

Guzma's never been in love before, and every moment he spends with Grimhilda he just fell deeper and deeper. And Grimhilda feels more and more comfortable being around him. She opens up to him about her family troubles and they share a moment. She tells him about her old dream of becoming a gym leader but she was always too scared to try. Now she just wanted to work and help as many ghost type pokemon as she could. Guzma gets to tell her about all the misadventures and trouble Team Skull used to get into and about the Aether foundation and what that did to him.

One day, the two decided to go on a small little trip to Poni Island to catch a Dhelmise, but they get distracted and end up playing in the waters and field grass.

And that was their unofficial official first date.

They started dating soon after. When Plumeria found out she nearly killed Guzma and threatened that if he so much as hurt a hair on her head or broke her heart she would feed him to her Salazzle.

And that's Grimhilda!

Gris get's the square eyes from her and the gothic/punk style. He's also cursed to be average height due to Grimhilda being on the shorter side and Guzma being tall as hell.

What are your MLP Height Headcanons?

Okay so like.

My height thoughts on the Ponies are more general because figuring out a measurment system is ass though I do have heights for the Human Counterparts

But the general vibes for the main Pony races:

Unicorns, being naturally inclined to Spellcasting over Physical, are the smallest of the three.

On the other hand, Earth Ponies whose Magic is mostly Passive and will end up as the biggest of the three.

Pegasai, more physical than Unicorns but needing to be light to fly, are in the middle.

Now this is the 'average'. But due to luck of genetics and sometimes having something else in the gene pool, they can get bigger or smaller than average.

For the Mane Six, from shortest to tallest:

Rarity - She is actually the average height for Unicorns. But the smallest of the Mane Six. She doesn't usually get bothered by this, but on occasion....

Fluttershy - Shy is a bit on the small side for a Pegasus, but not wildly so. This is a detriment in flight, as he's a bit too light to muscle through windspeeds, but it work out for the short-lived modeling career as Shy meets idealized Canterlot Beauty Standards.

Rainbow - Perfectly average for a Pegasus! Gets all the benefits of speed and strength in her flight.

Pinkie - Average for an Earth Pony! Ponies forget that because she's kinda all over the place and not that intimidating but if she stands up properly to full height they're all like 'oh'.

Twilight - Unicorn!Twi is actually the same height as Pinkie, but Alicorn!Twi is a little taller. Twilight is very large for a Unicorn. It didn't bother her much because she wasn't socialable enough to notice others commenting on it. If asked she'll admit that she might have some Earth Pony somewhere in her mom's family but they don't know for sure as only the height gene seemed to have survived to her, her mom and her brother.

Applejack - LARGE. Even for an Earth Pony! Not the tallest pony ever, that might actually be Big Mac. But the Apples have the large pony genetics!

🔮 I see her as a caregiver! A very scheduled one at that. She has the day planned out for her littles usually, to morning to bedtime. but she isn’t afraid to get down and play! She isn’t all that strict despite the tight schedule. She tends to use a lott of baby talk and sweet nicknames. Also gifts.. she buys a lot of gifts like every other week.

Pinkie Pie

🎈maybe really specific? but I see her regressing for fun to remember the good parts of her childhood! So she regresses around 6 or 8. She’s a very chewy little and tends to put a lotta things in her mouth - which is why she need teethers! She loves playing with dolls and collecting rocks because they make her really happy. She’s probably that kid that screams for no reason. Twilight watches over her sometimes I imagine!

Rainbow Dash

🌈 my favorite pony 🥺 I see her as a kid regressor! Around 6-8 like Pinkie, and she probably regresses when she gets overwhelmed or insecure. She’s a very cuddly and shy kid, she’ll pull on her caregiver‘s hair to quietly ask for cuddles. But once she gets going she’ll take off and explore. Easily amazed, honestly. Show her something glittery and shiny and she’s like :O she also lovess getting read stories

💎 Definitelyyy a caregiver. She has that very motherly vibe and you bet you’ll be smothered in love. She absolutely loves doing your hair, putting you in cute little outfits if you let her. Always making sure her littles are eating healthy and keeping themselves cleaned. And WILL brag about you. You are her sweet little baby and she just wants to express how cute you are <3 she’ll make sure you know it

Applejack

🍎 i see her as a flip, honestly, but leaning towards caregiver. Doesn’t like being called mom or anything, but lives for being called any nicknames related to big sister <3! She loves cooking with littles and playing with them, a littlee bit overprotective. she’s always making sure you’re happy, safe, and feeling loved.

When she‘s little I see her regressing to 0-5, in the age range where she vividly remembers her parents. she usually plays with some of her old toys and has a few pacis

Fluttershy

🌸 self indulgent again because I kin her 👉👈 but she’s definitely a regressor! She regresses to a very young toddler, like 2 or 3. She needs to wear certain outfits to help her regress and shes very attracted to her paci! my first kin! for a month after rewatching otgw i desperately wanted to be him. to be like him. anything!! it eventually wore away but i still feel that urge sometimes - the urge to write r/im14andthisisdeep poetry and to distance one’s self from their siblings... and heck - his tape for sara is indeed just as awkward as he is but let me assure you that his poetry and clarinet are actually pretty cool. 9/10 i need to see him more. give me more otgw comics. ok thanks.

2. snufkin (moomins)

a philosophical vagabond of vague age. acts stoic all the time but can and will leave every social situation whether or not it’s humanly possible. infp.

after watching some 90s moomin (and later on moominvalley) i realized how much i liked him and how much i was like him; i soon daydreamed of myself, as snufkin, venting to someone. it made me very happy. i vibe with his general demeanor and ideals (minus his gripes about rules, i follow those by the book) and i love psychoanalyzing him. so fun. so fun.

3. arnold perlstein (the magic school bus)

overly-anxious jewish kid and certified expert on rocks and panicking. owns a pair of fire-proof pyjamas in a lovely shade of green. isfj.

you all saw this one coming. my early childhood lives in my mind rent free and such i can’t help but revisit arn and his character. i’ve always loved him (even in, and quite possibly especially in, the reboot) and i’ve always loved psychoanalyzing every single little thing he does (remember that one time he said he was traumatized? me too). i soon realized a lot of it was me projecting! so sue me. actually, sue miss frizzle. either one of them. i mean, if arnold really didn’t like the field trips he could’ve just filed a restraining order! ...just saying.

4. fluttershy (my little pony)

anxious pastel butterfly baby child. probably loves animals more than she loves herself. cries upon impact. isfj.

the pony i’d mentally point to and think “me”. i had like 10 fluttershy-related things growing up, like plushies or funko pops or that sdcc guardians of harmony thing. while not shy in the same manner, it was nice having a character i could relate to about so much! i cosplayed as her equestria girls form for my first comic con as well, so that’s pretty cool. in addition, me being a little lepidopterist means i was bound to love her. it was destiny~

5. lammy lamb (um jammer lammy)

socially anxious and generally anxious rock star who thinks literally everything is a guitar. has an emotional support girlfriend. infp.

man!! she embodies the feeling when you have to go to the eye doctor by yourself to get your glasses fixed or when you have to call someone over the phone... that sheer tension. the panic. the feeling of ‘i want to throw my entire being into the trash can’. but lammy has a bunch of friends to support her, so she’s cool. died by slipping on a banana peel! same, sister. and man would i like to shred on my ukulele now...

6. loser (bfb)

humble (screw bfb 21), supportive, well-loved cube dude who’s voice is like that of an angel. has an entire fanclub in his honor. enfj.

okay, no, i was never a cool kid or ‘popular’, really, but in school i was never bullied for whatever reason and was generally well-liked; i hung out with a squad of weirdos and yet the cool kids would often talk to me? and try to engage me?? despite my very apparent self-deprecation and awkwardness??? either way i feel like it’s such a blessing to me, that i have so many friends! i often feel like i don’t deserve it, but hey. it’s nice! and heck, back when i was on scratch i had a little fanclub myself :0

7. fan (inanimate insanity)

nerdy, friendly aspie boyo who subliminally vents via blogging. longs for stability in his life; was best friends with an egg. entp.

ever since i noted his aspergers-like behavior i became super attached to him - whether or not it was intentional, i found it nice having a character i can relate those feelings with. he’s really sweet and dorky and i love how he gets along with test tube, paintbrush, and lightbulb! it makes me really happy to see him whenever i do. it made me really sad when he was eliminated. what the heck. yeah i dunno i don’t kin him super strongly but i love him to bits.

8. spinel (steven universe the movie)

emotionally unstable clown girl who stood in a garden for thousands of years. patience of a saint. edge like an 11-year-old me. esfp.

uhh um uh totally wasn’t completely disturbed by how much i related to spinel after watching steven universe the movie... totally wasn’t reminded about how and why i hated middle school... totally didn’t rethink my life that day... that’s it. this is all i’m saying.

9. molly blyndeff (epithet erased)

innocent child who has a terrible father and a wonderful demeanor. teddy bear who needs a hug and a criminal as her new dad. infp.

epithet erased is adorable okay?? i knew molly was infp in the first few minutes... more precisely, i knew she was me. man!! i don’t relate directly to her angst but i still feel it. i can replicate her voice so accurately it’s scary. also, i coined a new thing -  ‘molly cake’! you have a chocolate cake, preferably with chocolate chips inside. use chocolate frosting and add little pastel star sprinkles! on top! my mom would make this cake for us anyway but then i realized it was literally just molly in cake form. and it’s just as sweet!

10. tommy coolatta (hlvrai)

a 30-something-year-old child who rocks a propeller hat. chose his last name off of a dunkin donuts menu despite the fact that he has a father. infp.

everyone loves tommy. he’s so sweet? and funny and loveable?? often times when i say something funny but bizarre, i just remember that tommy has said ‘soda helps you see faster’ and it makes me happy. if i’m going to be a weirdo i want to be the wholesome weirdo who loves soda and has a .png for a dog! also i legally have to kin tommy. i took a test for it (and i’m not complaining! i find it quite flattering).

11. twyla (monster high)

the daughter of the boogeyman; would very much like to boogey out of here, if you know what i mean. avoids people like the plague. infj.

seeing her role in the show and in the movies, i really love twyla? first of all, her voice is my new favorite thing. it’s like... gravelly? and soft? she’s the type of person who would very much like to disappear when in a crowd; thankfully, she literally can. i am drawn to any sarcastic, self-deprecating introvert who takes care of their bonkers extrovert friend (in this case howleen), as i often act as such myself. also the phrase ‘boogey sand’ will never leave my mind now :)

12. lapis lazuli (steven universe)

water gem who wants you to leave. cynical as all heck, sensitive as all hell. is there such thing as a gem therapist? just asking. infp.

in a similar way to twyla, i vibe with lapis’ sarcasm and wit as well as her emotional side. it can be kind of addicting, isolating one’s self. anywho, me and my sister used to do this routine of yelling up to each other this certain dialogue between lapis and peridot when peri was leaving for something (in which lapis replied to everything she said with dry ‘yeah’s); i would always do lapis’ part. i do reply a lot with ‘okay’ or ‘yeah’ or ‘cool’ to things people tell me, as i never really know what to say.

13. brad meltzer (xavier riddle and the secret museum)

shy jewish butterfly kid who absolutely hates time travel. attracted to people who know how to socialize like a normal human being. infp(?).

okay okay so... combine everything from arnold and everything from fluttershy and that’s basically what brad is to me. a jewish socially anxious nerd who loves butterflies and drawing. badabing badaboom, there i am. that’s it.

I do love James though & while the game gets still a lot of praise I think he as a protag is in comparison underappreciated. Gotta stop myself before I start rambling but just know this game & the OST never fail to get me emotional.

Castiel (?) from Supernatural - because yes, SPN actually is rather dear to me. I’m not into it the way I once was & I can’t really say I’m sad to see it go, because it really did not age that well, but in some way the fact it’ll be over very soon tugs at my heart nonetheless. Uh yeah, but picking a fav here is hard, I went with Cas by intuition but I also love Crowley. And Dean, yes. Don’t @ me.

Asra from the Arcana - we just ... vibe. x) Honestly it may sound arrogant because he’s so wonderful, but ... he actually reminds me of myself in quite a few aspects & I also felt incredibly comfortable cosplaying him. I’m not even into dating games.

Fluttershy from My Little Pony - not big into MLP either, only watched a bit, but I just love Fluttershy. ...alright fuq it lemme explain my thoughts about the finale spoilers lol

Don’t worry, I WILL be posting this under a read-more so PLEASE turn away and ignore this now (especially with some “spoiler” tags on if you use ‘em) if you don’t want to be spoiled for the finale until it officially airs. I just can’t contain my thoughts no more after ponderin’ them and who knows when it’ll officially air in English (’cause slow schedules can be a pain to deal with lol) sooooo... yeah you’ve been warned xp 

...Ooooh boi, well admittedly I kinda skimmed through what the whole plot was about behind the last three episodes (I was moreso focused on all the stuff happening for “The Last Problem” so lol), but I’ll try to keep it brief for the most part:

-So... that whole thing about Grogar being the last “big bad” was just a total lie... since apparently it was just Discord masking himself as the guy just to give Twilight one last battle to face? ...Ehhh, I get that he apparently had “good intentions” but this just seems to be pushing it too far even for Discord’s standards tbh... like these are his friends now (including Fluttershy, his best friend) so why would he allow this much risk to be thrown at them for the sake of just teaching them a valuable lesson about overcoming obstacles? ._. Then again, this IS Discord we’re talking about so him pulling some shady stuff like this is to be expected, I guess? Idk...

-As another twist to the trio of bad guys... NONE of them get redeemed at the end (not even Cozy Glow... who again, is nothing more than a whiny child compared to Chrysalis and Tirek :P), as they all pretty much get blasted with the same stone spell that Discord was under for what I can presume to be forever. I mean... had Sombra been placed in Cozy Glow’s position then I guess I’d be a bit more satisfied with this kind of ending for them instead of feeling questionable about it (’cause again, Cozy’s young age ^^;)... but at the same time, for what it is it’s at least a refreshing change of pace from just having them all instantly forgiven and befriended by all the main heroes. Now that would’ve been cringey... >_<

-We got a reaaally big group of cameos from many past ponies/other creatures from the show to aid in the final battle, including Sunset and a few of the MLP movie characters like Tempest, Capper and Skystar! o.o A shame that Captain Celaeno couldn’t have been added along with them but still, pretty cool to see that particular trio regardless along with my girl Sunset ❤️ about time the main show acknowledged her importance to Twilight -.-

-Moving onto the big finale itself, “The Last Problem”, we cut ahead to I presume to be a couple decades or so since the last episode... where Twilight and her friends are all grown up and leading their own lives as Twilight’s pupil (Luster Dawn, was it?) comes to prepare herself for her own first friendship lesson. Surprisingly, unlike past finales it’s not so much a really heavy or action-packed episode but more of a “relaxing breather” kinda filler... yet still pushes the feels the more we get to see the aged-up cast and realize how this truly is the end for our heroes :(

-We’re also given a nice flashback to Twilight’s coronation as Equestria’s new leader, though it didn’t go according to plan it still provided some heartwarming feels to teach that friendships will always remain solid even if some end up moving far away. Awww ;w;.

-As for the “Grown up” designs themselves... I’m kinda torn, tbh lol

On one hand, I do like Rainbow’s, Fluttershy’s, and AJ’s older looks just fine. AJ’s especially gives me the feels looking at it ‘cause of the shawl... really hits in that poor Granny Smith is no longer around by this time :( at least she’ll always keep her memory strong in her heart ❤️

As for Twilight, Rarity, Spike and Pinkie... ehhhh ^^;. Rarity’s sparkly shawl is rather pretty though that big grey steak in her hair kinda clashes too much with the regular purple imo, Pinkie’s beehive look could’ve been fine if they just took out all that random junk in her hair, and while part of me kinda likes the “ethereal princess-y” vibes of Twilight (despite the rather dark implications that she’s gonna outlive her friends now ;-;)... the fact that she still sounds like her old dorky self when speaking kinda kills the effect for me... plus idk if only a couple decades in the future would be enough to make her this tall as an alicorn, I mean even Luna (who’s older than her) is alot shorter so it’s just a little off-putting to me to see her so “Celestia”-sized ^^;. And as for Spike... yeah, I don’t even know what’s going on there, so... let’s just move on, please lol.

So then we get to look over how everyone else in Ponyville’s doing, with so many new species living there now, some old kiddos grew up like the CMC and the Cake twins, Starlight and her friends (plus the Student 6) continuing to run the friendship school together, and apparently some canon couples started to thrive during this time too including Lyra and Bon Bon, Big Mac and Sugar Belle, and... Pinkie and Cheese? o.o 

...Um, wow lol Wasn’t really expecting that considering that most of Cheese and Pinkie’s previous screentime together (which was only in like, two episodes?) wasn’t really that romantic from what I can recall, but guess the writers decided to just throw it in anyway ‘cause it’s a popular ship? lol I mean, not like it’s a bad one or anything but it still feels a bit randomly-placed in a narrative sense imo ^^;

Speaking of their daughter (Lil Cheese, I think?), while I do think she’s cute, part of me is kinda disappointed that they didn’t really get more creative with her design like they’ve done for Flurry Heart and the Cake twins :c. Color-wise she looks okay but... why just make her a recolor of her mom’s filly design? .-. Even putting her hair in some pigtails or something would’ve worked better imo.

-Some more design nitpicks I had were certain weirdly placed hairstyles like Pumpkin Cake’s and Diamond Tiara’s, as well as why Gummy the alligator just looks like he resized into a giant than legitimately grew into an adult lol. Also this might also be nitpicky but why exactly is everyone (minus Twilight) so old-looking with grayed hair and/or eye bags (ex. Rarity and Sugar Belle), when a couple of them have school-aged children at this point? .-. Hell, even most of the Mane 6′s parents didn’t look this old (including Twilight’s, and they’ve got a granddaughter lol), so I’m kinda confused by this type of design choice tbh.

-I don’t really remember if they explicitly stated what happened to the old princesses during this time since they didn’t show up again, nor what the final fates of Shining Armor and Cadence were (save for a brief shot of Flurry Heart having her own stain-glass window in the throne room). Idk, just would’ve been nice to have gotten more explicit about that ‘cause I don’t wanna think of these poor royals being gone now with just Twilight being the leader now ;-; 

-I guess there was also a couple “implied” ships thrown in too like Fluttershy and Discord (though that one might be more “loose” to interpret, depending on how much you like the ship) and apparently AJ and Rainbow Dash seem to be having something “deeper” going on considering they specifically walked in together when all the other Mane 6 walked in individually into the throne room. Hmmm...?

-And lastly after a bit more filler and than a montage song of the Mane 6 harmonizing together one last time, we get to close off the entire episode, season, and series with one final shot of the heroes standing on a sunset-y hillside together, saying goodbye to Twilight’s student who goes off on her own friendship adventures... and then the screen fades to a book closing as a call back to the very first episode of the series over 9 years ago... where the exact same book opened up to start off our beloved show to begin with T-T

....aaaand yeah my feels exploded over again, sorry T-T. Despite the lil nitpicks I had here and there (and how I wish certain plot holes could’ve been handled better in hindsight), this was still a really sweet and thoughtful way to end MLP: FiM with one last batch of fluff like this... the end of a good 9-year run of the show which’ll surely leave a special place in every fan’s hearts, including mine ❤️

Though again, like I mentioned before I still won’t be considering any of this actually “canon” in the main universe I’m setting up, which is all basically an AU at this point since I haven’t really been keeping up with the show as frequently to care much for sticking with the main canon :p. For my fellow content creators, please don’t be afraid to keep working on your own next gens and such btw, even if some of it might be contradicted in this particular finale I’d say anyone is free to make their own interpretations however they want, canon or no canon~ ;p

I think you miiiight have jumped to conclusions from an ask that simply asked you if you could list the Traveler’s cape and civilian names. Miiight have. Also, I’m pretty sure most of them where refered to by their civilian names in previous arcs.

It’s certainly possible.

It’s not so much that I jumped to the conclusion as that the ask opened my eyes to the possibility of it, which I hadn’t considered before. From there, I had to reevaluate things and consider how things would change if it turned out I had gotten the two mixed up. Ultimately I think I’d prefer for Cody to be Ballistic, but I’m still not sure either way (even with this ask heavily implying it’s Luke).

As for names, most of their names did show up (all the more reason for an ask about matching names to capes being kind of odd if it wasn’t trying to set me thinking of something), but I can’t recall Ballistic’s being one of them. But you know how my memory can be.

That smurf song you posted definitely says “dab dab dab” several times, despite the video being uploaded to YouTube in 2009, and the song supposedly being from 1978. So that’s suspicious as hell.

I… think that has to be the bits where it actually says “tramp, tramp, tramp på en smurf” (“stomp, stomp, stomp on a smurf”).

Either way, now we’re all forced to consider the concept of the Smurfs dabbing, so thanks for that. 😛

“Dragonberry” was Scarfgirl’s old character on City of Heroes, a MMORPG with a superhero theme that no longer exists. I know you’re not reading the chapter comments, but if you ever go back to read the early ones, you’ll see that quite a lot of the early readers were City of Heroes players who had an interest in superhero fiction. That’s why Scarfgirl’s art is signed “Dragonberry”, because it’s how people knew her back then.

Ah, interesting. Fun to hear a little about the fandom’s early history. 🙂

I’ve had many names, myself. Once upon a time I used to make a different name, if not more, for just about every site I was on. One of the names that stuck with me the most was Elementarion, which I used in the game Godville and a few other places (not every Elementarion that comes up on Google now is me, though), because I found long-time friends while using that name.

Though for some reason I wonder why 😛, nobody seemed to want to type it out every time they wanted to mention me. I’ve been called almost every short form of Elementarion there is. El was the most common (made watching Stranger Things kinda odd the first time around, even though I’d long abandoned the name), but I’ve been called Ele, Elem, Eleme, Elemen, Element…

A couple other highlights I remember were Hiatus (in a browser game I don’t remember the name of), OldHeavens (NewGrounds) and Barbute (ArmorGames).

It wasn’t until I came up with Krix Jace, later Krixwell Jace, that I started stabilizing my name.

I feel like you all need to know, even if you don’t care about MLP:FiM, that the final episode of the show proved us all wrong.

The show’s resident Skitter is not Queen Chrysalis, the villainous, scheming ruler of a hive full of insect ponies.

Nor is it Twilight Sparkle, the mainest character and socially awkward brainiac who leads a team of five other main characters and always does her research if she can.

1. “What happened to Hansa” is addressed in the Prim story so that’s still out there if you want to know.

Ahh. That would explain why it was left unexplained in Aesma, aside from acting as a noodle incident if you haven’t read Prim.

2. As you observed, the word “demon” has appeared very rarely in the comic, outside of epic title drops & an instance where drunk Allison used it in place of “devil”. It’s used in some of the bonus texts but without a clear definition. Can you speculate further on what it might mean?

The priests seem to call Aesma a demon in the sense of a being of evil, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a definition that’s relevant to the comic’s title (and what appears to be Allison’s “name” in some sense, though the Demiurges do seem to have misinterpreted other parts of the prophecy and Zoss didn’t unambiguously use it as a name). It may be more about inner demons, Allison killing her fears, doubts and insecurities as she grows into the role of a king/queen of the cosmos. Six billion might be hyperbole, in that case, but still.

Alternatively, the prophecy and name might actually refer to Zaid, who could easily end up being the final villain of this thing even if he’s not actually Zoss’ intended successor. In that case, “six billion demons” might refer to humans, if Zaid gets really nasty with his own species. We know very little about Zaid’s base personality beyond “kinda sleazy boyfriend”, so a lot of developments are plausible on that front.

Though there are other parts of the prophecy, as well as illustrations, that do fairly clearly indicate Kill Six Billion Demons is Allison and will be flanked by White Chain and Ciocie, so it referring to Zaid is unlikely.

3. I think the author once said that there are still Aesma-worshippers active in Throne. What do you think they’re like and what would she think of them?

(Somehow the flesh sellars come to mind.)

Well, clearly they’d be Slytherins, if they understand her teachings. Aesma might treat them as ants, if she were still around, but bask in their adoration.

4. Kalpa — a Hindu / Buddhist concept meaning a really fucking long time. Besides in the story you just read, the term has also appeared in the comic at least once so far.

Good to know. I think I kind of just assumed it was Throne’s equivalent of a year, however long it might be.

5. Panopticon — a prison design envisioned by philospopher Jeremy Bentham, allowing all prisoners to be observed from a central point.

Makes sense. When I read it in Aesma’s story, the word’s construction was clear enough that I figured out what it was immediately, before I finished reading the sentence. It very clearly means a place from which to see everything.

6. Root — penis.

Yeah, I figured that one out. 😛

Ooh, you’re right, this looks very nice. It kind of gives me a K6BD x Steven Universe x Star Wars vibe. And a little bit of RWBY with that one guy that reminds me of Tyrian. I can definitely see the resemblance between this an K6BD in terms of character design style, despite the genre shift.

I particularly like the blonde in the lower left.

In the interest of transparency, I should also mention that the patron has said he probably won’t sponsor full liveblogs of any of the other bonus texts, but has sent me a few recommendations and links to some of the ones I’ve passed (besides Prim). My Little Pony Re-Watch: Episode 39 Baby Cakes

*Wait the Cakes were expecting?? How was this never mentioned? Ah well.

*Also it is frustrating trying to figure out the genetics, but I do like how they make a joke out of how little sense it makes for two Earth ponies to have twins that are a pegasus and unicorn.

*First quick songs pinkie has had in Season 2. And there’s a couple in this one.

*This is the most time we’ve gotten to spend with the Cakes so far, and I gotta say, their dynamic as a couple is adorable! They’re such a great team and have cute nicknames for each other. I’m surprised I don’t see people tagging the Cakes under Relationship Goals. They’re great together.

*And no surprise Pinkie is great with the foals, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. And I like the angle the episode is going for. That some can be good with kids, but not have what it takes to properly look after them when things get difficult. It’s a family relationship I wished was emphasized more, because it feels like an important one.

*Fluttershy having to turn down the Cakes may be one of the most relatable moments for me from her. If I had a bit for every time I’ve uttered that exact plea...

*Why is Pinkie’s stand up so bad? Isn’t that her job as the comic relief? 

*There is an interesting moment where Twilight comes to see if Pinkie needs help, and Pinkie accepts at first, admitting how hard looking after the twins really is. But then backtracks and says she can do it when Twilight mentions that she suspected that Pinkie would be in over her head.A part of me finds this odd, since Pinkie never struck me as prideful. But at the same time Pinkie can be determined to a fault. Maybe that is pride? I don’t know this topic may be better saved for another episode.

*Insert wacky baby antics here. It’s fine i guess but it’s really not my thing.

*Although what is with the horror movie vibe for a minute?! That’s, odd.

*Oh sure! The one time Pinkie can’t defy gravity is when she needs to catch a baby pegasus! Typical...

*I know a lot of people take issue with the fact that Pound and Pumpkin Cake can fly and use magic when they’re only one month old, but the show did go out of it’s way to say that these are just small bursts of their powers that all ponies get as foals, and will have to learn to properly control when they grow up. So it doesn’t really bother me.

*A lot of cartoons have episodes like this, and it can usually boil down to that the person in charge has no idea what they’re doing, but insist they can handle it, and are instantly proven wrong. only to get the hang of it by the end. But in this case Pinkie in my eyes doesn’t really do anything wrong. She’s not a bad caretaker, she just go overwhelmed by how much work they were to take care of for a whole day.

*And as indifferent as I am to Pound and Pumpkin Cake, that moment when they try to cheer Pinkie up, is too cute for words. I’d argue it’s one of the sweetest moments in the series.

*And the message is a unique one. That it’s okay to admit when you can’t handle a big responsibility. Even if you want to prove yourself, there’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you feel overwhelmed. A really great message i think should be presented to kids more often.

I’m honestly not sure if I even saw this episode before doing this rewatch. Because again, not really of fan of wacky taking care of babies episodes. It’s just not my thing. But there are some cute moments and I think it’s lesson is a good one presented well, so I wouldn’t call it a bad episode by any stretch. Just not one I’m eager to watch again. Also why weren’t Pound and Pumpkin Cake just adopted now that I think about it? It wold have saved us a lot of raised questions Next Time: The Last Roundup!

Thoughts Dump on Season 7 Episodes 10-13

Shall we do this little read more thing here cause this is going to get long? Probably. Def open for talking about them if you decide to read all the way through! I’m up for some good MLP discussion.

A Royal Problem

Can I just start by saying how much I LOVE that we got an episode that actually has more in depth on the Princesses? I’ve been aching for one for forever, and honestly it feels like we’ve gotten more Luna over time cause she’s the one who’s had bigger problems that she’s needed to sort out. 

CELESTIA THOUGH, you cannot tell me she’s the boring blob that being the princess she is demands her to be all the time. This is why I need moreeeee. Give me Celestia’s wild side PLEASE.

On that note, I love how good she is at covering it up compared to Luna. Issues? Don’t fret my little ponies, they are being solved and I assure you, everything is alright. She’s just so GOOD at her role in being the one that takes everything just to make everyone else’s lives easier and brighter. Dang Celestia, how do you do it. Also the personality contrast between she and Luna is still great and it also shows their age/experience difference. 

The Twilight music box was a good example of how wonderfully odd this show can be and how, after 7 seasons, it continues to catch me off guard. I LOVE IT.

CELESTIA MAKES PANCAKES FOR EVERYPONY IN THE MORNING. I DIED. She is far too good and I highly appreciate the fact that she enjoys cooking, especially such silly yet comforting things?? Lmao

Not that I didn’t see it coming (I mean duh, but it’s just been awhile), but also holy heck is she a morning person. This is definitely where I connect to Luna more, and I love her snark.

Both the Princesses are just too good tbh, they both try so hard and do so much good in their own ways. LIKE HOW CONCERNED LUNA WAS ABOUT THE FUNDRAISER EVEN THOUGH IT WASN’T HER USUAL DUTY. She tried and immediately failed and felt super bad about it. All because she can’t hold a smile sjflksdjfjhdfj

Was telling my sister the whole time that nobody would ever, ever be as bold as Starlight Glimmer and that’s why this episode worked, and so I was glad Luna said nearly the exact same thing at the end. Applause for Starlight tbh.

Daybreaker’s design tho. On a more personal note, I was admiring her snarly face the whole time cause it’s definitely the closest design i’ve seen in the show so far that would work for Kelpie shape-wise. Putting that note aside if I ever try to do canon style stuff with my OC’s!

Luna’s dream was legitimately creepy for a show that seems to tone stuff down so much. There are like, magic battles and villains and stuff, but rarely does something strike me as dark? Maybe it’s just me. 

THAT’S IT FOR THIS ONE, I probs give it a 9/10

Not Asking For Trouble 

I don’t want to get too into this one, but for quite awhile Pinkie’s characterization has bothered me. Compared to the first few seasons, it seems recently she’s been over the top to the point of making others upset, but not even in a silly Pinkie way. It almost came across as less annoying others, but using her silly personality as a cover to let her freely say mean things? I’m not sure what happened there, but it sorta rubbed me the wrong way and this was just a good example of Pinkie being Pinkie. 

She went with everything the Yaks said and tried to understand them and fix the issue without being too much of a bother to them! That’s the Pinkie I know! I was honestly waiting for disppointment and was relieved when it didn’t happen. 

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or a lot of people thought this too, but what can I say, some episodes just seem more consistent than others

HE’S SUCH A BABY AND A PROTECTIVE GRUMP, DEFINITELY THE UNCARING OUTSIDE MUSHY INSIDE CHARACTER THAT I LOVE 

HE’S SOOOOOO ODD IN THE BEST WAY 

I reminded my little sister of this 50 times during the episode. I just feel the need to emphasize how much I love my dumb noodle horse dragon at all times. 

I don’t specifically like or dislike Fluttercord but you gotta admit there’s some good cheesy content here. THEY’RE CUTE FRIENDS AAAAA

Sometimes I wonder what the inside of Discord’s head looks like if he appears that crazy on the outside. Just, his mind must work in a very different way lol

I still marvel that the Discord we first saw is so taken by Fluttershy in such a legitimate way, but I am starting to get it. I suppose that his thing was always just chaos and messing with others and not necessarily being evil, and that’s probably what got me. He iiiiis kind of an attention hog so honestly, making friends that allow him to be his chaotic self around them is probably a fair compromise. Still, sometimes.

Explain to me though why he needed to go to 5 different stores to get things he could’ve just conjured up himself. Smh he likes to make things difficult and it pains me!! Stop being such a drama queen, but also don’t xD

Did u see the part where he hyperventilated into the bag but his neck expanded instead. Okay top wacky cartoon humor LOL

“Do something chaotic Fluttershy” “Oh no, I tipped over that cup!” MY SISTER AND I HAD A GOOD LAUGH AT THAT FLUTTERS PLS

There was probably an even mix of me expressing my love for discord and shaking my head actually. They go together hand in hadn though, no?

Hmm this one was also probably 9/10

The Perfect Pear

WHAT CAN I EVEN SAY ABOUT THIS EPISODE 

IT JUST GOT ME GOOD

IT WAS NICE TO GET BACKSTORY ON APPLEJACK’S PARENTS AND EQUAL PARTS HAPPY AND SAD

I MEAN THEY DEF AREN’T AROUND ANYMORE, DON’T THINK THERE WS ANY OTHER WAY TO READ THE IMPLICATIONS 

SO MANY GOOD FEELS

Just story and writing wise though this episode was so well done. There are always the funny episodes and everyone has their own favorite for reasons or because of their favorite characters, but sometimes some are just GOOD. Like classics, or everybody’s favorite, the ones that continue to stick out from the 100+ episodes the show has.

I’m rewatching these as I type this out and you know an episode’s good when you finish it and rewatch and things make more sense the second time around. Like how Grand Pear comes across as just a nice old pony the first time you watch it and if you rewatch it you’re like “Ohhh that look and being nice specifically towards Apple Bloom wasn’t just a random kind gesture”

Applejack’s over-reacting to everything: “PEAR JAM??? IN MY KITCHEN??” *DRAMATIC GASP*

“The food smells great Applejack i’ll brb for dinner” You mean the pancakes that are scattered all over the floor???

“And her cutie mark was a preserved jar, but pear butter don’t look too different from apple butter, so you know...” LMAO (true??)

The “the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree” moments got me, THESE KIDS TAKE AFTER THEIR PARENTS IN THE BEST WAYS. The sibling bonding was adorable in this ep.

Also I have to note, Pear Butter with her little bit of sassiness and curly ginger hair gave me Puck Connolly vibes the whole episode, which is always a good thing

DAMN THESE APPLES THAT STRIKE ME RIGHT IN THE FEELS EVERY TIME ONE OF THEM GOES INTO SONG

Def the part that got me the hardest right there. Like trying not to tear up, even

My Little Pony Re-Watch: Episode 45 Putting Your Hoof Down

*Oh goody. At last we’ve gotten to my least favorite episode of the season. And starring my favorite character. Who could ask for anything more?

*Sometimes i feel like I’m too hard on Angel Bunny. But I have noticed that how much you like Angel depends on how you feel about Fluttershy. The more you like her, the less you tolerate his attitude. But I think even big fans of Angel have trouble defending this appearance. He’s such a little brat and causes Fluttershy such unnecessary grief in the process. He slaps Flutters for crying out loud! Is that supposed to be funny? Because it’s not. It’s mean. And it would take many seasons for Angel to get back in my good graces after this incident.

*But something that is kind of cute is the architecture in Fluttershy’s cottage. This might be a weird time to bring it up but you see here that there’s little holes and staircases all over the place. Even in really high places. Specifically so the animals Fluttershy takes care of can get where they need to. I always love that unique design choice to help make it feel like a specific character’s home.

*You want an episode where Fluttershy learns to stand up for herself? Fine, I get it. And i understand you need a couple of inciting incidents to get her to realize this is something she needs to work on. But y’know, you can illustrate that point without making everypony around her an unreasonable jerk.It might have even gotten across the point better if they were just casually dismissive, which they manage to present once or twice here. But most of the time, it’s ponies being absolutely awful! And it makes this whole section of the episode just uncomfortable to watch.

*Especially the cherry guy. Worst shop pony EVER!!!

*Pinkie’s Looney Tunes antics continue. I personally prefer the elaborate chases, but this is still pretty funny and well performed by the voice actors.

*I also noticed that this is the first episode without Twilight in it since Sisterhooves Social. I always thought having all of the Mane Six write letters to Princess Celestia was done so she wouldn’t have to be in all the episodes. Maybe i was wrong. Because this is the only other episode in the season she’s not in, and you could have easily found a place for her in both of them.

*Our first Minotaur holds his seminar in a hedge maze. Love it! Not sure if the goat henchman are connected to the mythology as well, or if it’s just weird. Probably the latter.

*Iron Will’s not the most charismatic or memorable antagonist in the series, but he’s not bad or anything. He definitely get some good lines and most certainly presents the wrong way to be assertive. This guy’s not assertive. He’s a bully!

*Yeah Fluttershy. Those are usually my idea of options when someone’s blocking my way too.

*So after one seminar, and jsut trying Iron Will’s methods, FLuttershy takes the leap from assertive to aggressive, with little to no sense of concern befoe she gives in and thinks it works? I think that’s my problem with this leap in he character. I’m not going to say it’s out of character, because that’s kind of the point, but the transition from “old Fluttershy” to “new Fluttershy” is kind of jarring. It takes no time at all for her to start taking this too far. The first thing she does with Iron Will’s methods is spray a garden pony in the face with his own hose. And she kind of gets a thrill from that. Never questioning. Never contemplating if this really works. Maybe if there was a moment of reflection where she makes the conscious choice that this is working, I might be able to buy this a bit more. As it stands, it feels almost like whiplash.

*Why Fluttershy didn’t just fly over those carts is anypony’s guess.

*I understand that Fluttershy taking already not great advice too far is kind of the point, but it doesn’t make it any less difficult to watch. I’m sorry but I don’t find Fluttershy beating up a pony to get a cab entertaining in any way. 

*Or Fluttershy straight up insulting her friends life choices and passions. This isn’t her taking bad advice too far. This isn’t her being “too assertive”. This is, I don’t know what this is. This is the most comment complaint against this episode, and i have to agree. Saying that your best friends are throwing their lives away is horrible. Especially in a show called “Friendship is MAGIC”. It’s a really tough moment to watch, and not in a good way. I’m glad Fluttershy came to her senses after this, but I don’t think she had to go that far to realize that.

*Even with that said, I do feel bad for Fluttershy when she locks herself away like the Hulk. Determined never to hurt anyone ever again. But her house looks really abandoned. How long has it been again?

*And i do like how Pinkie and Rarity try ot comfort her. This is what happens when you try to change something this big about someone too quickly. Especially when their head is filled with such awful advice. One good argue they are being way too gracious after what she said to them, but what are friends for? I guess?

*I also like that they try to keep Iron Will away from Fluttershy. Good friends help protect you form unhealthy influences like this jerk.

*Okay there’s a lot about this episode that makes me annoyed and uncomfortable, but it could have all been worth it if the message came across clearly and presented well. And guess what? It’s not. At least I don’t think so. Watching this again, the way Fluttershy deals with Iron Will by standing her ground in a calm and cool way is perfectly fine. Buuuuut we don’t really see how Fluttershy reached this point. And that may have worked in this situation, but who’s to say it will again? For an episode that spends most of it’s time showing the wrong ways for a pony like Fluttershy to stand up for herself, we get 30 seconds of Fluttershy standing up for herself without becoming a monster. Like so many other things in this episode, it just seems like a leap without much to back it up.

As someone who has similar social anxieties to Fluttershy, I didn’t think this episode presented any kind of solution to this problem I personally had. Watching it again after improving on those issues a bit, I can see what they’re going for, but I still don’t think it’s presented well. If the point is to show how to stand up for yourself, even when it’s hard, without going too far, why is the eventual solution given so little time? After 20 minutes of unpleasantness? I may see what they were trying to do, but I still don’t think this episode presents it’s very important middle ground very well.People may hate Mare-Do-Well, but this is still my least favorite episode of the season.Maybe I’m being too harsh, but this should have been an episode someone like me could really learn form, but I took nothing but an uncomfortable vibe away from it. Next Time: It’s About Time!
