In an alt timeline where Kristoph doesn't give himself away and Phoenix can't provide any proof of his crimes, how long do you think they'd keep up with whatever the heck krisnix is? imo kristoph was fully prepared to keep up the charade forever, but I think it would make him insane eventually. and I'm like 50/50 if Phoenix would stick around and they would have an epic gay marriage and subsequent divorce or if he'd just find a different way to make Kris have an ace attorney courtroom breakdown?

oh yeah i fully believe kristoph was willing to keep up the charade forever, whatever weird tango they had going on kristoph liked it and wanted to keep the status quo without getting rid of phoenix- he wasnt initially planning on framing phoenix for zak's murder after all, he was gonna let olga take the fall. and i kinda hc that he killed zak to cut off another one of phoenix's leads so that they could continue as they were for just a little bit longer. seven years is a long time, if he's made it that long then he's comitted for life.

the only way he'd end it is if he got tired of phoenix, or felt that phoenix was on his tail. but that's exactly why phoenix only confronted him in the courtroom, so that he could get rid of kristoph before kristoph got rid of him. "that's why i decided to bring this case to court" he knew it was dangerous to confront kristoph alone, on anything.

and phoenix side? ur right it's so hard to say exactly what he'd do but i dont think he'd let it go on. he was already working on the mason system behind kristoph's back, by that point he knew what kris had done and he wanted to fix the system that hurt him and so many others. if this was a universe where kristoph still killed zak- he just was more careful about it- then phoenix would find some other way to catch him out.

just look at the bloody ace in 4-1. phoenix stooped to kristoph's level and became exactly what everyone had been calling him for years: a liar, a cheat, a forger. he didnt win fair and square at all. he betrayed his promise to following the truth and risked apollo's badge because he was that desparate to put kristoph behind bars. so yeah, he would find some other underhanded way to prove kristoph did it, and if kristoph is still declared innocent and olga was sent to jail then phoenix would work tirelessly on the mason system until he could call for a retrial.

in the meantime he wouldnt let kristoph around trucy or other ppl he cares about, because kristoph killed a man. i dont think phoenix was aware that kristoph was capable of murder until that night and the idea that the man he has let into his house and home for the past seven years is a killer would make him sick to his stomach.

he already knew kristoph was dangerous and a villain and the one who ruined his life and that was hard enough to come to terms with at the time. but he thought that was it: he's just some mean and petty twink who abuses the justice system. that's bad on it's own- definitely a jailable offence- but not an immediate danger to his loved ones, he can afford to play house with him until the mason system is off the ground if that's all kristoph did.

but it's not all kristoph did. and every night phoenix would wonder how hands that have held him so gently were the same hands that took another man's life.

Hi Zak!! This is a pretty random ask but i was just wondering if you have any tips for starting a fanfic/story? I just keep getting stuck on how to start one (I really love your work/blog 🙏 feeds my tot brain rot fr!!)

hi anon, im glad you like the stuff i make ;w; !!! and ohhh, sure i got tons of tips for that!.....so many that i actually wish i cld get u back here to ask what specifically about starting a story u'd want tips on but for now, i'll go for a general overview :D!!

cuz....to me (i.e. based on my writing process, which i'll be drawing heavily from for these tips), the act of Starting comes in three distinct steps, one after the other:

Idea Generation (what is the story gonna be about and how do i get ideas for that?)

Concept Organization/Outlining (how is the story going to be about this idea and how will i be executing it?)

Creation (GAH, HOW PUT WORDS ON PAGE!?!?!?)

so i'll give general tips for all three!!!

Idea Generation Tips

(this is the step that i personally have the least trouble with because my brain makes 5 new ideas every day. it's kinda a curse now because it leads to me having too many wips and concepts and only 1% of them gets to the Creation period jhvjhVJKSHFVHJS BUT ANYHOO, TIPS-)

Check Out Prompt Lists (super fun and easy way to get an idea! theres tons of story and fic prompts out there that you can search up here on tumblr, some of them being lists of lines of dialog or lists of AUs or scenarios. even if you dont follow a prompt exactly, they can be great at kickstarting ur brain into thinking of something related that you Do wanna pursue)

Open/Ask For Prompt Requests (if ur brain doesnt have any ideas, u can ask around and see if anyone ELSE has ideas theyre alright with you writing! my tot fics "reviews for Time's Antiquities, South Stellis | Average Rating: 4.8 Stars" and "but little do we know, the stars welcome him with open arms" were both inspired by anon asks i got!! to those anons who sent those asks, i owe u my life....but yea, maybe other people can give ideas to you! or, again, give Something that can inspire another thing in ur brain to take shape)

Just Ramble With A Friend (SO MANY OF MY FIC IDEAS started because i was just goofing off and playing idea volleyball with fandom buddies in our DMs (shoutout to sam samsspambox, z lukevonhagen, and beck beckthebeetle for being the main culprits of this). like, what started out as a joke conversation eventually makes go "oh no wait i actually wanna see that as a fic" and then boom, Idea Has Been Acquired. but fr, talking with another person makes your brain create things u never thought about before. it's both tons of fun to chat with a buddy as a sounding board, and it yields awesome concepts for stories!)

For Fanfic Specifically, Think About What You Want To See In Canon But Hasn't Happened And You Want It So Bad It's Driving You NUTS (this can be anything from missing scenes you wish were expanded on, scenes you wish went a different way, character relationships you wish you could see more of in canon, go nuts! the fun thing with fanfic is that it's a fertile playground for all the what-ifs, and a lot of my fics' ideas were simply found because i thought "man i know tears of themis is never gonna show me deep found fam moments/artem ptsd consequences after main story 6.2/mariluke, so imma make it myself" JHVSJDHF. ideas are hard to make sometimes, but brains are so good at desiring things. and all those desires? those can also be Ideas for a fic!)

Concept Organization/Outlining

(very much skippable if your writing style/personality is more receptive to free-wheeling!! im just the type of writer who always needs an outline to begin something. it helps me structure a raw idea with no shape into something clearer that i can envision a story for)

Outline A Rough Chain Of Events Chronologically (this can be as simple as three bullet points, what happens at the Start of the story, the Middle, and the End. or maybe you can go list down the portions of your fic according to the Freytag's Pyramid Plot Structure: Exposition, Inciting Incident, Rising Action, etc etc.)

Outline A Rough List Of Stuff You Just Want To Happen In The Fic (if your brain is like mine and isnt too great at chronological thinking, make a list of just all the plot points and events or even dialog exchanges u Want to see in the fic. you can organize it in the order u want later once uve put everything down)

Outline The Themes (moving away from plot, many stories are more focused on feelings or characterization or themes. so make a list of the Concepts you want to tackle. this is something i do for my fics that are more introspective, so i outline shit like "EVENT THAT MAKES LUKE INTERNALIZE SELF-LOATHING followed by EVENT THAT MAKES LUKE'S VIEW BE NOTICED BY ANOTHER CHARACTER")

Creation

(the worst part of writing....is the writing JAVFJVSDKHFDJHJ but nah fr this is the part i have the hardest time with, so here are tips that help me kickstart the word engine)

You Dont Have To Start Writing The Fic From The Beginning Of Its Story, Start Writing Wherever (confession: a good 75% of my fics are ones where the first scene i actually wrote down was not the start. instead, i just wrote the scene i was most excited to write. and usually thats somewhere in the middle! i do this cuz it makes my brain happy, and a happy brain is much easier to pull words from than a sad brain. plus, when i see the scene I Like Best already written, it gives me motivation to do the rest of the fic because oh my god i want everybody to sEE THIS ONE DANG SCENE!!! start writing the fic at whatever point you want, in whatever order comes most naturally to you, is my point. you can fill the rest in later, but hey, starting to write where you Want has gotten you Started. now you just gotta finish, and finishing when you already have something down is much easier than starting from 0)

Set Tiny Wordcount Goals. And When I Say Tiny, I MEAN TINY!!! (writing is intimidating but if you set a goal of say, 100 words written for a wip per day, at the end of one week, you'll have 700 words. at the end of two, you'll have 1400 words. at the end of a month, 3000. small goals help since it makes you do Something, and that Something will inevitably compound, no matter what goal uve set. and let urself be proud of the goals uve achieved!!! writer brain gets happy when you tell it it's done a good job at reaching a wordcount goal, and like i said earlier, happy brain is much easier to work with than sad brain)

Give Yourself All The Time You Need (i know this sounds counterproductive but sometimes....the best thing you can do for the part of your brain that wants to start creating....is waiting til it's ready. dont pressure yourself, cuz brain will get sad. dont be too hard on yourself, cuz brain will get sad. start when you want to start in the way that works best with your brain and see where things go, but be patient with yourself. sometims Starting is actually the longest part of writing a story and thats fine. it will happen. trust)

thats all the tips ive got! and of course, what will work for me wont always work for other people, so please feel free to take what you think applies to you and discard what doesnt resonate.

And there goes season 6 there is so much to get through so strap in. Sorry this is so late my job has giving me the most stressful hours this week.

Ferrari got a new team principal, aww no more Binotto(is it me or does he look a little like Jack Antonoff lol). Man Ferrari really is that F1 team and there fans go wild so they will always have that status weather they win or lose. They also really know how to keep there drivers in check.

Daniel getting back on the track, it’s really where he belongs. That injury for him was bad and on the hand to so horrible for him. I’m surprised that not many drivers suffer injuries considering how crazy some of the crashes can be. Just wonderful to see him doing what he was born to do. Nice to see that Horner truly cares about him and still sees potential in him.

Otmar really needed to stop being so soft when it comes to discipline those drivers but it was sad the way Alpine let him go. The drivers totally don’t have to be friends but they need to a least have some respect for each other. Taking accountability for ur actions cause in the end it’s gonna hurt the team and yourselves. Being competitive is a good thing but u got to keep ur ego in check so it doesn’t do more damage than necessary.

Tough go for Lewis this season not having the car he needs to get the 8 championship so he can be forever known as the best driver Formula 1 has ever seen. If leaving Mercedes in the future gets him to that achievement well I guess that’s that. I mean Alonso is still putting in work on the track while being the oldest driver on the track.

That battle for second place for the Constructors Championship was so nerve wracking and fun to watch. Max having an outstanding year uhhh I love him it’s so well deserved. Just literally dominated that whole year.

You seriously got to respect that fan-fiction origin that Zak has in Formula 1. As much as I’m starting to really like McLaren, had to reevaluate when I heard and saw they had Trump there for the Miami race. Taking pictures and everything, such a bummer, that’s something hard to look past at least for me. Because that man stands against everything I believe in, it was so disappointing. But Lando is so great and very talented would be a shame if he’s views aligned with someone as terrible as Trump. I don’t mean to put u on the spot but do u have any opinions or feelings about this. It’s just i know I don’t know you in real life but I’ve come to genuinely respect ur opinion and outlook on things. Please if this is to personal then just disregard this whole paragraph.

Again thank u so much for introducing me into this fantastic sport is it weird if I say love u for it. Now I’m off to YouTube to watch the videos u recommended and fall more into the madness. Drive to Survive was an amazing experience definitely 9.7/10. I’m gonna need more F1driver!reader now lol. Just seen the news Hamilton in that Ferrari red is gonna be interesting to witness. But who is Carlos going to drive for next year I’m worried, Ik he’s too talented to not have a seat on a team but he needs a good team and good car. Yay I got to watch my first race live, those last few laps were so good I love to see a good battle. Lando making Max work for that win, it was a very fun first race for me. Looks like I've got a lot to catch up on S(ainz)!! But I'm so glad you've enjoyed that season. I wish there were more moments of my man's Max, but I think he declined being on DTS as much, which is fair since they really paint him in a negative light.

I wish sometimes Daniel never left. While I'm glad Max gets the favorable treatment on Redbull, I think Daniel and Max were the closest thing for Redbull on being "fair" on both drivers. Well at least in my opinion.

But I think Lewis's move on Ferrari has been a long time coming even though I thought he was gonna retire with Merc. Like all that history, it just makes me sad but I'm happy for him.

But I've seen mix stories of why Trump was specifically with McLaren, supposedly it was because their garage was the closest to the exit. But regardless, the fact that Lando views Trump as a "respectable" man is really disappointing. Trump is GARABGE!! I really despise that man so much. To see him there was so DISGUSTING!! But honestly, like Lando, be so forreal with me.

In my opinion, I know that the driver's real life political opinions would upset me. I don't know much about what they believe, but I do know that Lewis's values of supporting black people, women, and LGBTQ+ is what I love the most.

But I feel honored that you respect my opinion, I feel like I talk more about my feelings for Wanda that I rarely share what I feel like in regards to politics.

And I'm so glad that you're going to stick with F1. I might start thinking more about what I could bring with F1 Driver!Reader. But did you see Monaco today?! Well it was today for me! Crazy lap one but I'm so glad Charles got his win :)))

Me seeing all of you reading Saturation and being surprised when you’re all surprised canon events happen like *even more surprised pikachu*

(mild spoilers for Saturation beyond chapter 43 at this point, read at your own discretion if you’re reading/planning to read Saturation and don’t want spoilers!)

Seriously, I wasn’t trying to be coy about the UR-1 arc, I did my best to set up warning flags - Sebbie talking about Simon and mentioning he had something he was working on, hints that time was passing, Zak showing up again way too early in the timeline, those were all meant to be flags to you guys that something was coming, that UR-1 was coming and something was about to go very wrong, because chapter 44 was me looking Capcom in the eye and going, “Oh honey, you did it wrong - this is how you break a man like Phoenix Wright.” It was meant to be unpleasant, yeah, if an event’s supposed to hurt in canon I’mma make it hurt, but not entirely out of left field!

And then we kept getting closer and closer to chapter 44 and I began to stare at my screen in dread going, “They... don’t seem to have noticed? They’re excited about Zak showing up? What? What?!? ...oh crap, I’m about to lose all my readers, aren’t I?” o_oU There is a special place in my heart for every single reader I have who reaches chapter 44 and chooses to trust me enough to read any further, and I mean that sincerely.

Also, looking back at the timing of when all this got posted, and I do not have words for how glad I am it went up when it did - one of my legit thoughts back in March was “Oh thank gods we’re past the Anwaltssadt arc, I would have hated to do that to my readers right now!” so glad that didn’t happen!

just finished aa4 and really liked it! quick thoughts:

-apollo has quickly become one of my favorite characters in aa! he really struck that sweet spot between admirable and endearing for me--a hardworking, quick-thinking young man, who grew up as an orphan and clawed his way up to success and a new family in the wrights, and who’s also unrelentingly snarky, can’t whisper for his life, is terrified of heights, and cries over people that he hardly knows. what a dork, i love him. i think they leaned a little heavily on the ‘greenhorn’ aspect of his personality-- quite a few moments where there were things i had figured out but wasn’t allowed to do anything with until another character jumped in and was like “apollo u sweet summer child THIS is the answer”. also i spoiled myself a little and i know that the next two games have “traumatize apollo” as a running theme so a little apprehensive and hoping they at least develop his character well or smth

-mixed feelings about the ‘perceive’ mechanic bc narratively it’s cool as hell but it was frustrating to crawl through the text looking around for a very slight change in the zoomed-in sprite, especially if it wasn’t clear what they’re fibbing about which is very often. had to use a guide on those parts pretty often. also it’s just like “hey you were twitching! you’re obviously hiding something!” “oh gee you caught me i’ll spill the beans” like i feel like it could’ve been a little more subtle or gradual, idk.

- love apollo and trucy’s relationship so much!! their banter is so cute and funny and they pull off the straight man/funny man routine really well. ik nick and maya have a similar thing but the vibes were just different, for some reason. they had very strong sibling vibes (even before the reveal), which i loved. them being half-siblings was pretty contrived (like a lot of things in this game and this series lmao) but i dont really mind too much

-on a related note, why can’t they know that they’re siblings. when’s the “right time” to tell them. why can’t they just reunite with their mother who has her memories back and loves them. phoenix wh

-on another related note i can understand how jaded and disillusioned phoenix got after he got disbarred but i honestly didn’t like the whole “mysterious cryptic mentor playing 4d chess” schtick that the game pulled. it feels ooc, especially considering you briefly play as present-day him in the final case and his internal monologue doesn’t seem too different from original trilogy phoenix, or at least the phoenix you see before disbarment in the final case (although i was rly invested in finishing up the case and wasn’t paying that much attention to phoenix’s characterization specifically, so i might’ve missed stuff). phoenix’s arc of growth was great and complete in t&t and it feels like they just...gave him a whole new personality. also phoenix goes back to being a lawyer in the next two games...does he just revert back to being regular ol phoenix? idk, maybe i’m missing some stuff right after my first playthrough but it just felt weird.

-plot was really convoluted and contrived even for ace attorney (havent played aa5 or 6 yet, so idk if it gets worse). lamiroir just happened to be apollo and trucy’s mom, if zak had just been frank with phoenix and given the original diary page to him OR valant hadn’t tampered with the crime scene this whole thing could’ve been avoided. why did zak want to take down phoenix in poker to the extent of planting cards on him to make it look like he cheated when phoenix was the one who defended him in court and he’s the one taking care of his daughter??

-way too many flashbacks to things that happened 5 real life minutes ago

-g u i t a r ‘ s s e r e n a d e

-kind of wish they had done more with trucy. i liked her but i feel like there was potential, especially since the game implies that she’s putting on a brave front for apollo, and i wish they had expanded on that a little more. like....her birth father who had been presumed dead for years ends up being alive right up until mere months before the reveal. she’s the one that ends up delivering the forged evidence into phoenix’s hands as a child, even though she was completely unaware of it at the time. she and phoenix latch onto each other pretty quickly, which was very cute, but we get little insight to how she thinks of her biological father, who we can tell she loved and misses but not much else. maybe i’m just digging for angst, idk, but it still felt like there could’ve been more. (also i really wanted more phoenix-being-a-dad content!! be a dad to ur daughter sir!!)

-klavier was pretty good! it was refreshing to have a prosecutor that wasn’t after ‘perfection’ or had a vendetta against defense attorneys/the protag, but he still managed to come off as a competent opponent. his whole rockstar persona was very cheesy but i liked it lol. (also really hilarious to me that the third case starts with him giving discounted tickets to trucy and apollo, his opponents in actual legal court) also i knew people shipped him and apollo but i wasn’t expected the game to be so forthright with it. like how else are you supposed to interpret klavier saying “i’m used to being inspected by the ladies but this is the first time ive felt like this with a man”????

-ema skye!!! loved her and glad to see her in a spotlight role but it was just kind of sad seeing her perpetually grumpy. ik people didn’t like that there were so many forensic touchpad/mic minigames but i didn’t really mind it, they were kinda fun if sometimes a little tedious

-i for sure thought that valant had been directly involved with the murder in turnabout serenade (my initial theory was that valant was masquerading as daryan during set 3 while daryan shot letouse, which was why 2nd guitar was off during the recording). also i hated daryan’s hair, why does he have a military grade skunk torpedo on his head,

-wright anything agency adopt vera challenge

-this has already gone on long enough so tl;dr solid 7.5/10 would play again once i forget what happens a little bit

If Phoenix or Maya died instead of Mia, that would be a very sad AU to the entire series as a whole. Who knows what that would have done to her.

Well, I did write an AU where Maya got murdered by Redd White. I’m not going to act like my fic is the definitive of how Turnabout Sisters would have gone if Maya was the victim but I do think that it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that things would have gone that way. Mia for sure would have figured out that Redd White was the murderer and would have gone after him, and do anything in her power to take him down.

As for what happens to Mia after The Reversal of Sisters, well, here’s how the rest of the franchise would have gone at least in my view:

Mia finds out that Will Powers, the actor of the Steel Samurai was arrested for murder. Recognizing that name as the show that Maya loved so much, she takes the case because she knows that’s what Maya would want her to do.

Phoenix insists on tackling Turnabout Goodbyes on his own as he desperately wants to help his friend out. He loses because Maya isn’t around to call Lotta out on the validity of her testimony, and Edgeworth is found “Guilty” of murder. As a side note, Von Karma disappears and is never heard from again. Afterwards, Phoenix slips into a deep depression and Mia consoles him, the two comforting each other due to them both losing someone they care about deeply.

Mia ends up defending Lana at the request of Ema Skye. Lana is much more open to the idea of having Mia as her lawyer but still acts similarly cold and distant towards her as she did Phoenix. Mia, with Ema’s help, manages to defend Lana successfully, though she still goes to jail. At the end, Lana and Mia promise to stay in touch during the former’s prison sentence through writing letters.

The Kurain case never happens as there’s no Maya for Morgan to plot to get rid of. Instead, Dr. Grey goes nuts and tries to murder Mimi Miney who is disguised as Ini. He is arrested for attempted murder. The reason I think Grey would go after “Ini” is because he would want to take vengeance upon the sister of the woman who had in a sense, ruined his business. I also don’t think Mimi would have gone after Grey had he not suggested the channeling honestly.

The Lost Turnabout and Turnabout Big Top would have been taken by Mia. She offers both cases to Phoenix, but he’s still depressed after losing Edgeworth. She does manage to convince him to stand in with her during trial.

Mia would have no reason to take Farewell, My Turnabout. In actuality, I think that Matt Engarde’s case would have been taken by a public defender as everyone else is convinced of his guilt. The public defender loses the case and Engarde is found “Guilty. And as an added bonus, the public defender’s body is found the next day but nobody knows if their death was a murder or a suicide. You could argue that maybe Mia would have taken Matt’s case, but I’m not so sure. Engarde looked rather “Guilty” from the onset and if it wasn’t for DeKiller, I’m not so sure Phoenix would have taken it either…without coercion from Maya.

Diego wakes up in August 2018. Mia, scared of losing him again, proposes to him very soon after he wakes up. The two of them marry and Phoenix is the man of honor.

Soon afterwards, Diego joins the Fey & Co. Law Offices as a third lawyer.

Phoenix, inspired by Diego’s return to law, starts taking cases again, but starts off slow with simple hit-and-run and assault cases. He doesn’t take up the case revolving around the murder at KB security (Diego does), but does take up the murder at Tres Bien which goes much differently than it does in canon. This is because he isn’t as popular in this universe so Furio Tigre can’t impersonate him to get Maggey convicted of murder.

Diego is Phoenix’s aide during the Gramarye trial and tells him to watch out for that forged diary page. With his help, Phoenix is able to avoid being disbarred. However, Zak still disappears after the conclusion of the trial (because why wouldn’t he honestly?) and Phoenix still adopts lil’ Trucy.

As a side note, because AAI and AAI2 require the presence of Edgeworth, the smuggling ring and the Mastermind are never caught for their crimes. Actually come to think of it, the Mastermind actually WOULD be put in jail, but for a murder they never actually committed.

Turnabout Visitors ends up going differently since it requires Edgeworth to have the room he has in canon. If Jacques was able to get Edgeworth’s room, he might not end up needing to murder Buddy after all. On the other hand, Rhoda would be accused of murdering Akbey, Lauren would be accused of murdering her father, and Kay would be accused of murdering Coachen. I don’t know who would have been accused of murdering Ka-Shi-Nou though.

The fake president is never discovered and SS-5 is never resolved. Blaise, Patricia, and Di-Jun-Huang never face retribution for their crimes.

The UR-1 trial goes a bit differently than it does in canon. Since a Fey & Co. defense attorney may have taken young Simon’s case, it’s possible that they’re able to prove his innocence and demonstrate the existence of a “phantom” killer. He would have still been arrested on tampering with the crime scene but on a lighter sentence due to trying to protect a young Athena. Make no mistake though, Simon totally adopts Athena once he gets out of the slammer. Whether or not she becomes a defense attorney still is up in the air but I think it’s likely. She might get inspired by watching Simon in court and want to face off against him in court.

Because the UR-1 trial goes differently than it does in canon and Phoenix is never disbarred, the dark age of the law never truly starts.

Apollo ends up working for the Fey & Co. Law Offices instead of Kristoph. I’m not sure how exactly AJ would have gone down. I think Kristoph would still have murdered Shadi and Turnabout Corner and Turnabout Serenade may gone down like in canon. Whether or not Kristoph is caught for murdering Shadi…is a different story.

Ema also doesn’t grow up to be a grumpy bear detective but probably is still bitter about not getting her dream job.

For DD, I can see 5-2, 5-3, and 5-DLC going the same just with Simon acting in a different manner since he was never convicted of Metis’ murder and as such, doesn’t have the lingering threat of death hanging over his head. I don’t think that Bobby and Simon knew each other before the latter got convicted so it’s probably a different detective working those cases. Unless the Phantom kills that guy and somehow manages to manipulate Simon into thinking the other detective just simply quit…

The Khu’rain cases in SOJ likely don’t happen because none of the Fey & Co. defense attorneys have any real reason to travel there. 6-2, 6-4, and 6-DLC might still happen but with different lawyers working those cases.

As for the sibling reveal, well, like in canon, it still hasn’t happened yet. That’s mainly because it’s really not up to any of the lawyers to decide when Lamiroir will let Trucy and Apollo know of their heritage, Although, it might be a bit sooner since Apollo doesn’t go to Khu’rain in this version.

Phoenix never finds out the truth about Dahlia. As a result, he probably stays single for the rest of his life. He almost definitely would have trust issues if he ever got into a relationship again.

Lastly, Morgan receives a call from Mia about Maya’s murder. She decides to use Maya’s death to her advantage and tells Pearl a couple hours later that Mystic Maya had contacted her personally and told her that she never wanted to see her or Pearl ever again. Pearl is inconsolable at first and refuses to believe that her beloved cousin would ever do or say such a thing. However, over time, as Pearl grows older and Maya never returns, she begins to take Morgan’s word for it. Meanwhile, Morgan does her part to ensure that Pearl never finds out the truth and murders anyone who threatens to try.

Pearl becomes Master as a result in 2021, she doesn’t receive the Master’s Talisman from Misty and is instead given a new one upon courtesy of her mother (I don’t think we ever learn if new Master’s Talismans are made when a person becomes Master. I’m pretty sure they aren’t passed down though). By the time she’s 18, she’s blocked the memory of her cousins out of hatred towards them for leaving the family. Misty never goes out of hiding out of fear that her sister might kill her if she tries to reach out to Pearl. She and Larry are still master and student though.

Pearl does go for training in Khu’rain but it’s unknown if she stays with the Inmees like Maya does in canon.

This at least, is an outline of how it could have gone. Things almost certainly would have been very different if Phoenix had been murdered. He would never have been the lawyer he is today, etc. Maya and Mia probably would be working together to try to put Redd away, so that’s a fun thought for an AU.

and that's what her thesis was on, less so the part about her being right either way, but it was in her mind the whole time

I typically rp her as 16, but I like to imagine her in her late teens or early 20s 5. What species are they- human, animal, alien, robot, none of the above? Human 6. What is their family like? Do they have one? Yes! She’s an only child with a mother and father. Gengyo is a very loving and passionate father, though tends to be neurotic, paranoid, and spoils his daughter to no end. Ritsuko is also a loving mother who puts compassion for others as a first priority, but has been struggling with her dysthymia and thus has been a less enthusiastic parent in Kimiko’s life. Kimiko refuses to refer to anyone else as a best friend. Isaki had been with Kimiko since early elementary school. They were complete foils of each other; ultimately, they were perfect contrasts. 8. Do they have a partner/significant other? Why are they together/not together? Zak & I are working on a ship, but we have yet to really rp the start of it -- so no. 9. What is their most prized possession? Why is it so important? A ribbon from a beginner’s level riding competition! It was the only competition she rode in, and she only got 7th place (they gave ribbons to all the competitors), but Isaki was there to train her, to cheer for her and put it in a really fancy frame. The framed ribbon is nailed right above her desk at home! 10. Do they prefer to be warm or cold? She prefers to be chilly. 11. If they could only eat one food for the rest of their life, what would it be? No way would she settle for this. 12. Is there anything they’d like to change about themselves physically? Isaki was and always will be her inspiration; but from someone who is living, her father! Although he’s eccentric, he’s the light of her life, as is she to him! 14. Are they a cat person? If not, what would they want if they could have one? When she starts to work as a criminal psychologist with rather dangerous people, authorities would prompt her to keep a taser on her.

23. What’s their fashion sense? Form-fitting comfy young hipster librarian with pastels.

24. What do they think of snakes? Interesting, but keep them away from her or so help me God.

26. What is their greatest fear? Not being recognized for her work in her department, and that she won’t be able to help any of her clients or the police force.

I am thinking about her having dysthymia like her mom, or some other form of depression, since trauma can be “passed down” and she’s gone through a lot. Still trying to figure out where and how that’d fit though. She’s also lactose intolerant if that qualifies here.

28. Who is the person they hate the most in their life? She tries not to hate, and she doesn’t truly hate anyone, but her ex-boyfriend Hoitsu Mifune is someone she really, truly, strongly dislikes.

29. Is there anyone they want to be more like? Isaki. She was always super cheerful, fun-loving, spontaneous, and very go with the flow.

31. Their home is on fire- what do they do? Get out of there according to the fire escape plan she and her family have practiced.

32. Do they like children? Yes!! While rowdy ones tend to annoy her a bit, she still likes them all the same!

But after Isaki’s death and evidence to show that she was involved with drug use/dealing and underage gambling, Kimiko changed her mindset. She now wants to become one since she knows criminals are still people. She wants to help them in any way she can, to help them lead healthy lives again.

91. What’s the closest they’ve been to dying (or, if they’re already dead, how did they die)? She attempted suicide soon after Isaki’s father died in the hospital, as he was the last of her immediate family who was living. She attempted by hanging, but her knot was lousy and undid itself.

93. Do they like their name? Is there any name they’d rather have? She does! Ijichi is a name rather well-known since her father’s family has an attorneys practice starting with her great grandfather Ijichi.

94. What is the significance of their name? Kimiko ( 君子 ) means “noble child”; Ijichi ( 伊地知 ) I cannot find the meaning of for the life of me. Italy, earth, knowledge? idk

95. Have they ever been bullied? Have they ever bullied anyone? There’s always bullying in the school yard; she’s never been horribly bullied, nor worried too much about it. Isaki was the one who would usually torment others, so Kimiko was just her henchman.

100. Why is this character important? To you, and/or to their world? Oh man. When I get an idea for an OC, it’s always in a short spurt, so pretty much all my OCs are really under-developed. But for whatever reason, I stuck with developing Kimiko. RPing her also helped SO MUCH in terms of figuring out why she is the way she is and adding new traits and perspectives to her. idk. I just love her a lot and I’m glad my pals here like her as much as they do. ;;;

that being said, as the author of the said fic, here are my personal verdicts on luke, marius, and artem (and vyn is out immediately cuz i'll be upfront, hes already solidly in the territory of "engineering tripping events to be Held" for me HAHA, and then later on when hes more secure abt his wants/needs would slowly acclimate to simply asking)

LET'S GOOOO:

luke: he would just ask to be held

luke has a bad habit of lying/deflecting, yea, but thats for Big Things and Big Secrets and Big Moral Shames. when it comes to smaller emotional needs and wants from mc, hes pretty upfront!

yeah, he'll be incredibly shy about it and would be blushing the Entire Time as hes asking for some cuddles, but he Will ask and his nervousness will slowly fade away as he gets comfortable in the beauty of physical affection

hes like a puppy that walks into the room looking all guilty but he just needs a hug and then his tail is figuratively wagging. this whole debacle is pretty straightforward for him

marius: he would BOTH engineer tripping events to be Held and also just ask to be held (or maybe one after the other)

i'd like to make it clear that marius isnt a liar, honestly. hes simply The Boy Who Cried Wolf. or rather, The Boy Who Cried JIE JIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!~

like, he'd make a Show of tripping and being oh so miserable about how he tripped, oh miss pls give me the attention and affection i so DEARLY CRAVE. and mc would see past this pretty quickly, she'd get a bit >:(

but at the end of the day she does also see that the want to be held is indeed genuine!

once marius sees that hes made mc a affectionately miffed with his antics, he fesses up and transitions to simply asking. but he'll do it in a Marius Way. one thats less of asking and more of "i just like it when you care about me :((((" in an overdramatic fashion to try and deflect from how much he Yearns for physical affection.

sidenote hc: i think marius wants So Much and that intensity is something hes still hesitant to show for a lot of reasons. his life isnt one thats very kind to outright sincerity. it has to be tempered or dressed up in different ways to be palatable

thankfully, mc doesnt care about whats 'palatable' she just cares about people and what can make people happy. once marius drops the act, she'll sigh affectionately and hold him

artem: he would, for a split second, think about engineering a tripping event but then he gets so caught up in the Moral Implications of feigning an event to cause genuine concern. he gets so upset about it that he makes his mind up to submit to the mortifying ordeal of asking for comfort, but because hes overthinking about this so much, he actually ends up legitimately tripping over himself cuz he was paying more attention about his internal debate and was thusly paying less attention to the nxx roomba that had, at that very moment, moved to where his foot was sposed to land on the ground

He holds his hand out* roy… c-can i– R-*looks at vin, surprised*…um..yeah, I have a couple more packs*hands the cigarette to vin* V- *he starts by taking a short drag, but he takes more and more, closing his eyes, dragging slow so he doesn’t waste the whole thing. He sits back like he just had the best sex of his life, his head leaning back as he blows smoke at the ceiling* …yes… Br- nicotine dependent much?? V-*holds his middle finger up at bryan, not moving elsewhere* R-*hands vin the pack*keep it. U seem to need it more than me.*chuckles, lightly* *the group laughs a little, everyone relaxing* Sam- … so.. *you can tell he hates to say it* what happened to vincent being in charge? Looks down*…its- no. S- *looks down. The lie hurt more than if he admit it. He takes his chin and makes him look at her* the only thing I ever lied to you about, was because I was trying to be true to who I am. Don’t fucking lie to me, Roy. *her voice trembles and she drops her hand* guess I didn’t know what I wanted either… R-*stares at sam*…so I fucked him. You want to hear that? He holds up his gun looking around*what’s going on? *the walkers broke through the main door. Everyone’s scrambling around until vin starts pushing people upstairs* V- there’s too many of them, go! Go! Bryan, trace help me put the fire out! Tr-*though he’s terrified he runs over to vin and bryan and helps put the flames out* R-*helps some guys get up the stairs faster. Then takes out his gun and starts to shoot the closest walkers*come on! V- *he grabs roys shoulder and shoves him upwards on the stairs, running after him. Bryan and trace follow, but a walker grabs bryan and he slips and smashes the side of his cheek on the railing. Vin stabs through the walkers head and pulls the doors closed at the bottom of the stairs, keeping all the walkers down on the first floor* Find something to hold the door!! Macker- *runs down the steps to bryan* bryan, mate can ya walk? *there’s blood all across the one side of Bryans face, but bryan doesn’t respond. Macker looks at trace* stay with him, talk to him! *goes to help vin hold the door* Sam- *runs over and helps the boys hold the door, followed by Zak* T-bryan, *there’s tears in his eyes but he keeps his cool. He puts his hand on bryans arm*are u okay? R-*runs down the stairs with a broom. Once he gets down the stairs he shoves the broom handle in the door knobs hoping it’ll keep it shut until they can find something bigger* By- *he let’s out a cough, his eyes closing. He’s laying on his back on the stairs, his head leans like he’s trying too look at trace* Sam- roy switch with me! *still pushing against the door but she has an idea and is about to run off* R-*does what he’s told*hurry! T-*helps bryan sit up so he’s leaning against tace*stay with me! Bryan! Stay awake!! S- *takes off up the stairs and comes back with the metal bar that people use to lift weights on the bench, she shoves it in the handle and everyone steps back. The walkers can get to door open about 2 inches but that seems to have fixed it* Zk- *smiles a little and hugs sam, goes to trace* I’m gunna grab a water to clean his face! *runs upstairs* V- we need to move him upstairs, god forbid something happens to that door…. Mk- what if he’s gotten a kin-cussion?? V- *looks at roy like asking his opinion* R-*looks worried*I would keep him awake. Just until tonight. Just in case… T-*his eyes water*bryan, did u hear that? U have to try and stay awake. Sh- stop being a drama queen trace, he’s tough. R- try walking around with him. Just keep him up*looks at the doors then heads up stairs* By- *his head turns a little and his hand lifts up towards sam* S- hey… *takes Bryans hand* can you squeeze my hand, you okay? *the morning after, there are still zombies inside the first floor, no way in or out. Bryan came to watch the stairwell and found shawn and zak asleep on each other. He stayed and watched, but didn’t wake them up* V- *he couldn’t sleep. His first night away from itsuki he slept because he was so exhausted from running all day into the city to find roy. To get away from the camp. To save itsuki from himself. Tonight he sat ip, just staring at the floor next to his bed, his head in his hands. He looks like shit. He gets up and goes down the hallwat, looks between the cracks in the boarded up windows. It’s so quiet, everything but the low hum of the zombies all over the town* Sammie- *shes the next to wake up. She looks in the bin next to her bed, roys bandana. The one he tied around her leg when she hurt her foot. She’s been wearing it every day, but today she gets up without it. He reaches for her crutch but it drops to the floor* oh fuck you! *leans down and picks it up, almost falling over, then heads out her door. She sees vin at the end of the hallwat, but doesn’t say anything , she heads for the stairs to go down to the 3r floor (they sleep on the 4th and 5th floor) to start getting breakfast ready for the group*

S- *nearly falls down the stairs but stays quiet, not wanting help. She’s now in the kitchen and she tosses a pack of instant coffee to roy. It’s the shitty kind that dissolves in water, but it’s the only coffee in the building. She doesn’t say a word to him, even though it’s just them. yanks open the fridge and through it to the walk in freezer. They have to eat all the frozen food first, cuz without electricity, itll go bad. She finds broccoli, eggs in a bag and of course, some more beans* great. Our shits guna stink like the dead if we don’t find some protein besides fucking beans… *looks around the fridge and she realizes she talking to herself. Sighs and grabs a bucket, starting to fill it with the 3 ingredients* R-*watches sam walk out then looks down at the coffee in his hands* is this all we have? *he makes a face then grabs a cup. Walks into the freezer*you shouldn’t be on ur foot. Let someone else do this. S- *looks at him, her face emotionless* {yeah okay… like you know how to cook?} It’s fine… im a good cook.. *puts the bucket on her crutch and heads out* R-*follows her* I know you’re a good cook. But you’ll be on ur foot when u should be resting it…that’s all I’m saying.*scoops two spoon full of coffee into his cup* S- I’m a grown man and-… *forgot that she has to be a woman again* woman. Why? S- *looks at him and raises her eyebrows* don’t start reading into everything I do… *puts a pot on the stove and pours half of a water bottle into it* R-*smiles and shakes his head*don’t. S- you ARE some stranger I just met, Roy… 3 months… that isnt a long time… *lowers the heat on the eggs and beans so they cook through, then leans againstThe counter and crosses her arms* why are you making this a big deal…? R-*stares in sams eyes then rubs the back of his head, shifting feet* I donno…before today I thought I was ur friend. But apparently I’m just a stranger.
