One of the great things about fiber arts (at least to me) is that... you outright own the things you make. It's hard for me to comprehend actually owning something, and that's that. The item you have created doesn't need to come with strings attached (pun intended).

In a world where you are constantly buying things but not owning any of it, truly, it's such an odd experience to actually have ownership of your labour, time, and love like that.

Just started my @mayakern skirt collection last year, but it's been a game changer in terms of being comfortable, cute, and all-occasion appropriate.

Plus I've really had fun finding different ways to style them. You know. As a treat.

#oftentimes when i see listings of this hoodie online #the sleeves are shown as just one sleeve with a pattern and not a long sleeve under a short sleeve like the pic #but the only images i've been able to find of people wearing this hoodie have sleeves like the pic #so my fear is that different sellers are getting it from different manufacturers #and if i buy it without knowing how it looks irl i'm gonna end up with the lame ass patterned sleeve instead of the super gender sleeves #if u own this hoodie or know anyone who owns this hoodie pls tell me where they got it from #either version of the hoodie btw. the lame ones or the cool ones #n44_misc

we used to have a silver otherkin star that we wore daily, but the top fixture snapped. rather than replace it, we figured the plural rings were a little more accurate for us now, anyway.

a friend ended up doing the model (albeit while we sat behind and gave feedback), we paid shapeways for the printing, for speed & just to save us the trouble of actually producing something to "daily wear" standards. would recommend.

Whyyyyyyyyy do companies insist on making bedsheets that are cotton mixed with a plastic like polyester!!!! When I ask for cotton bedsheets I mean I want 100% cotton bedsheets not 52% polyester 48% cotton!! Like I get that cotton is not that environmentally friendly in terms of water use but at least once the bedsheets reach the end of their life they can be recycled easily or composted because it’s an organic material. Also I have cotton bedsheets that are genuinely decades old and they’re still going strong and they’ve been used and washed a lot! So I know that good quality bedsheets will last a very long time and they feel much nicer
