you recall this memory with slight taboo, not at all knowing what brought on this spontaneous act of “friendship” other than briefly recalling when daniel said that he’d never let a girl suck him off before. not even knowing if it was still true, but still continuing as though it was.

you hummed in response, you knew.

your nails dug into the back of his thighs when he started moving his hips, wanting more. you pulled off of him.

your eyes widen when your head snaps up at him.

you walk out and shut his door, meeting your mum at the car, her mumbling mindlessly about what you and daniel had gotten up to.

sureeeeeee.

you hated him, you turn off your phone and start packing your suitcase, this would be your last night staying here, leaving for mercedes in the morning and then catching your flight back to aus. you turn on the tv for some mindless watching, one of those fun, cute german cartoons that they have one, playing in the back as you roll and fold your clothes. getting daniel out of your head, because you just got the job you’ve wanted forever and he can’t do anything about it. you call grace once you zip up your bag and you talk for hours, you tell her the newfound interest that daniel suddenly has in your whereabouts and your career and she’s just as shocked as you are.

you leave the hotel at 3:45pm and catch a taxi to the mercedes headquarters, feeling much more at ease than your first trip there. you get your uniform and your paddock pass and the job expectations, you ask if there’s anything you should review before the season starts. the man gives you a folder containing the performance of the car over the last five races for review and also the numbers and contacts of the other race engineers to get into contact with. it’s December and there’s work to be done before the season starts up again and that excites you, the work the absorption. what didn’t excited you was the inevitable, “hey so while we were running your backround check we found out you were friends with daniel ricciardo, talk us through how this won’t be a liability or conflict of interest” but you’d handled it okay-ish. you stopped at the hotel one last time to pick up your bags and then caught an uber to the airport, relieved to be going home, you lived in melbourne, but you’d grown up in perth, moving to melbourne to study, grace came with you and she’d been your rock, for lack of a better word, she’d been just what you wanted and you guys bounced off eachother, although doing completely different degrees, you doing aerospace engineering and her doing english.

you guys talked about everything and she knew all about daniel and yours history. your apartment in melbourne was quaint, for lack of a better word. it was home and you loved it as such, and upon returning home you dove into your work, spending most of all your free time the leading weeks to the beginning of the season reviewing prior car performance and prior driver performance.

you were assigned to valterri bottas. he was nice and consistent in performance, you couldn’t hope for a more authentic driver on the grid. you spent your days reviewing work and watching tv and catching up on your reading, you hadn’t done much in a while and you wanted to get back the certain passion you had for poetry when you were at uni. you had even started going on runs as a kind of de-stresser, going for runs in the late afternoon, getting home and reading your book. it was peace and it was routine you loved it.

but everyone so often, you’d get drifts of him in your head, vague memories of his touch. lying in bed, remembering how his hands felt wrapped around you, how his breath felt against your neck, you’d missed the warmth he surrounded you in, these “visions” eventually going away, but they left you with a longing you couldn’t shake, one that sunk itself deep down and threatened to warm your core. you’d still not communicated with him past the “i won’t be looking at you asshole” text and you hadn’t responded to his annoying reply since then, and the race was next week, so it’s not like he would have to wait too long to find out.

People are platforming sainz way too much when he’s the worse driver in ferrari just because he had his appendix removed like that makes him the most amazing driver ever he really shouldn’t have gotten driver of the day nevermind a win when Charles did so much more and gave him the position

the way im just trying to enjoy my enchiladas oh my god anyway i wasn’t gonna answer just straight up carlos hate asks bc it’s pointless yet here i am

i just find it really interesting that people act like liking carlos = hating charles and vice versa bc that’s the common thread ive been seeing across what people have been saying in my inbox and also in reblogs etc etc . it’s always utilising charles to degrade carlos and specifically his driving performances which in all honesty is very disrespectful to the team as a whole

but the reason that carlos has been getting so much media attention is because there are huge circumstances around him this season . he entered the season not having a seat for next year; people were curious- how would he react? how was he going to prove himself as deserving of a competitive seat for 2025? was the decision going to impact his relationship with the team etc etc etc . there was a lot of questions around him going into the season . especially after the shitshow of the last few races of the 2023 season between his vegas penalty and the god awful tyre strategy they had him on that ruined his race in abu dhabi.

bahrain peaked people’s interest in him- between the ‘im faster’ and team fighting on track (might i add is what you all wanted to see charles do in australia because the team orders were holding him back but got really pissed off that carlos had the gall to fight in bahrain when charles’ pace was thrown off by his breaking issues) . seeing carlos come into the season with so much uncertainty surrounding him and his performance and seeping him qualify second row abd taking a podium on the first race of the season generated more excitement. he was showing the beginnings of a promising final season with ferrari which is a pretty big deal . so of course there is going to be a huge media buzz around him . everyone expects the red bulls to do well it’s not breaking news when max verstappen wins but a driver with nothing to lose driving like he has nothing to lose is an interesting story . it’s journalism girl.

regarding the appendix, again this just adds to the excitement about him . it’s all narrative . like obviously people were shocked when he was diagnosed with appendicitis and it invited jokes about alex albon and his appendicitis which spurred on the media attention . and showing up to watch the race 24 hrs after his surgery of course nobody expected that because he was literally there against doctors orders- which yet again is going to garner a lot of buzz that he is dedicated enough to the team to show up so quickly after surgery .

when it comes to him racing post appendectomy again it’s so obvious that this is something that the media will want to pick up ‘f1 driver takes first non-redbull win in 10 races 2 weeks after surgery’ is a great base headline . that’s journalism baby . but it got people talking because in all honesty he really shouldn’t have been in that car it’s clear that he’s still pretty in pain and people were curious - how will he perform? will he even make it through practise? is he recovered enough to drive? will he have to stop mid race? have they made accommodations to his car to take pressure off his wounds? like you have to remember the toll these cars have on the body of the driver especially across the core. it’s incredibly impressive for someone to get in the car in the process of recovering front any surgery. and for carlos to be still in the late stage of recovery and to pull such impressive results in qualifying and the race is impressive . objectively he had physical hinderance and raced extremely well in spite of it . people are going to talk about it because it is pretty impressive.

as for carlos winning driver of the day again people are just excited . voted him driver of the day in bahrain for his sheer fucking audacity and pulling the first podium of the season which got peoples hopes up for ferraris performance for the rest of the season . he got driver of the day in bahrain because people were extremely impressed with how he raced given his physical circumstances . yes i think charles was also a contender for driver of the day because he also had a great race with the ferrari 1-2 and his defending against the mclarens but driver of the day is a fan vote and people will be voting for what generated the most excitement for them thing the race .

i also wouldn’t say charles GAVE him the position- he already had it . what you’re looking o say is that you’re disappointed charles didn’t have the opportunity to fight for the win. which yeah i get it i would also like to see a charles win this season and some more fighting on the track . but what we need to understand is that this point in time where charles was a few seconds behind carlos the priority was to defend against lando who was showing really good pace at which point charles has to decide if it’s worth trying to close the gap of around 5 seconds or defend against lando who was 2-3 seconds behind him . and obviously at the end he couldn’t increase his speed under the vsc . it’s just racing circumstances .

anyway my point is . is it really that deep in the end . yes carlos is getting a lot of attention right now but it’s just because there’s literally so much going on around him between his career uncertainty illness surgery and stellar performance in the early season . there is no plot against charles or whatever u think is happening and i’m willing to place my life savings that if another driver went under for surgery and pulled those results there wouldn’t be half the backlash as we r seeing . this is just how media works . people are interested in him right now . it’ll pass . we are only 3 races into the season . chill .

Shadow 3-07 Thoughts! :D

So I'm about to lore dump. Buckle in for the ride if you're gonna read this.

General Information

3-07's real name is Alex Griffith, born in Australia. Their family is of Welsh origin, but they are quite disconnected from the culture as it is far back in the family tree.

They are roughly 5'9" and have (very obviously dyed) red hair. They have hazel eyes and slightly tan skin but are still pretty pale.

LORE

Just little things I've had about them in my notes app

1.

They have had several crappy relationships. They would have given the world for those people but they never got treated right. Their were no affection in the relationships. Alex was just for the props of having a 'girlfriend'. They have trust issues because of this, afraid the next time them date someone, they'll leave them because they aren't 'cool' anymore.

2.

They really like building and inventing things. They made this cool type of harmless fire that they use to cauterise wounds when they work.

3.

They always like having heart to heart talks with the people they trust. Even then, it's hard to be honest, so they just work and work until it spills out eventually

4.

The place they had their first kiss was an airport after their first mission with Shadow Company. They got so excited to see their childhood best friend that they kissed them out of impulse. They dated for a little while but eneded it on good terms and are still friends.

5.

Alex smokes. They don't do it very often because of lung health and stuff, but if they need time away, they go to the roof of the base and have a cigarette. Sometimes, someone joins them. Once Graves even joined them.

6.

They adore thunderstorms. Whenever they hear the pitter patter of rain starting, they race up to the roof and get soaked before trudging back down and having a hot shower. It refreshing.

7.

Their callsign is Reaper. The Shadows nicknamed them this because they're a medic and are 'in close relations with the Grim Reaper'... and definitely not because they are absolutely feral when fighting.

8.

The Shadows have made (Don't Fear) The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult Alex's theme song.

9.

They know French. Not because they need to or anything. They just find it funny to break out randomly into angry French.

10.

They have a wall in their room just covered in about $200 worth of polaroids of the Shadows and them.

11.

During the time Shadow Comapny worked with Ghost & Soap, them and Soap hit it off and started babbling to each other about stupid things at, like, the speed of light cause... ADHD. They mainly talked about sketching and journaling.

12.

They weren't there when the massacre at Las Almas/Alone mission happened. They only know that something happened and they can't talk to Soap or Ghost anymore because they're enemies.

13.

They've broken so many bones omg. Leg, arm, collarbone, fingers. SO MANY

IM ENÐING IT HERE BECAUSE GOD KNOWS ID GO ON A RANT FOR, LIKE, 1000 WORDS ABOUT ALEX.

Their parents weren't very... present. They took care of their 2 siblings from a young age and almost cry if anyone jokingly calls them a mama's boy when they talk about the (few) fond memories they have of their mother.

I know I should stop using fb watch so much, considering that so many of the videos are there to induce negative reactions and make you angry, and some vids are also incredibly irrelevant to me.... like real estate for example.

so sometimes, I get this snooty american real estate agent who sells to luxury buyers in god-knows-where america. like why the fuck is she in my feed when im a poor baby millennial.... who will NEVER afford a house in AUSTRALIA, let alone the in US????

anyway. the other day, I got a video from this lady in my feed. she was going on about 5 things to NEVER do in a job interview with me at my company. I was like. huh. okay. why not listen as a jobhunter. but whooooo boy, the first point she had was a red flag. she opens the video (honestly, for rage engagement, lbr) with "NEVER act like YOU NEED to interview the interviewer. HOW DARE you question me???? you bring NOTHING to the table if you act like that in MY business!!!! that's a disgusting amount of audacity that you think YOU ARE important enough to question ME, a successful real estate agent who sells luxury house listings in fadaheim florida (I made that up I don't remember where she is). come in and be as subservient as possible, and kiss my ass for the entire interview. do NOT ask me what I bring to the table. I bring it all and you work for me. end of and get out, if you think you NEED to question me. you are scum and need to work for the bare minimum, beg and scrape, before you even level a question at ME. remember I am a FAVOUR by even bothering to interview and consider hiring you. you are doing NOTHING for me."

like. sheesh woman. employers/bosses such as you are the reason that no one trusts employers anymore. why people hop jobs every few years. because who the fuck wants to work for someone who won't answer a simple question like "what's your work life balance like?" or "where do you see this business heading in the next 5 years???" or whatever else. you have no answers except "turning over millions of dollars of profits on million dollar houses and pushing out whoever DARES to question me, the all-knowing god of luxury real estate in florida". is pure audacity, and although I hate using the word, narcissism.

my point is, if you apply for a place like this, run. run for the high hills. you will be so burnt out by the end of it and probably traumatised, that it's the best not sacrificing your mental and physical health. although i know the job market is impossible right now (considering that I applied for a local call centre with the same attitude just 2 weeks ago, but they fucked me around so much woth the over the top anal background check that I didn't even start AT ALL last week (thank god once I got reports from people I know that's its a shit place to work)), that it's basically impossible NOT to take a job like that.

but this woman and people like her are showing their true colours right away. run, run, run. as fast as you can and call yourself the gingerbread man at a hopefully better (not possible really) workplace environment...... than what this woman and people like her will create and perpetuate in toxicity and unhealthy hustle culture bullshit. ALWAYS have the so-called "audacity" to question employers at the end of or throughout your interviews.

Hello!! I got absolutely drenched on the way home, the weather and the rain here in Australia has been insane lately. I ate some food and since it’s a Friday I’ll just relax and read rather than do school stuff. im going to try and read at least two books this weekend - the one I’m am currently reading (only on p.50) and another one. Since it’s the beginning of the term I don’t have any assessments meaning this weekend will be pretty chill.

Also Update: my new history teacher is… well not as great as my old one. First off he is teaching us the complete wrong definitions of primary and secondary sources which is a very important part of history so that’s kinda odd (in his mind when writing about an artefact or old photograph it is still classified as secondary because we don’t have it in our hands which goes against what all my past history teachers have said). My old teacher was very nice and I actually felt comfortable talking with him after class, often about queer history and women in history but with my new teacher, I don’t think I would feel comfortable talking after class with - he’s very dismissive and way too bias in his teaching. (We’re a state school, you can’t you bag people out for not believing in god…). Anyway thankfully history is my favourite subject (along side english) so the content is still very engaging and interesting despite the frequent questionable things my teacher says.

Anyway I’m going to go read my book; it’s historical fiction following the (fictional) detective that is investigating Alan Turing’s death. I can’t remember what it’s called (whoops) but it’s interesting so far!

Lego Masters: Grandmasters ~ thoughts this week

catched up on all the lego masters eps this week god these eps make me so stressed and now im worried theres gonna be an elimination next there proabbly is we cant avoid it

but i find it a bit iffy that people who have immunity from being eliminated are still being counted in the bottom two? i think it should be like masterchef where there excluded from being judged and being put in their bottom two it jsut feels unfair a bit as a team i automatically eliminated it it reminds me of summer and iona's elimination a couple of seasons ago where she one had to leave bc she felt sick and the other they couldnt build fully and thus their build suffered and both of them got eliminated (though in that aspect i dont know how they could have rectified it initially HOWEVER later in that reason they had a couple of contestants who were eliminated come back and compete to well compete again and S&I werent one of them s0)

i am still of the opinion that we need more judges but i understand its hard to come by lego builders that are the caliber of brickman but it would greatly improve the judgeing it feels slightly skewed sometimes i cant really explain it

in temrs of episodes grandmasters has really stepped up their challenges (especially with the one with the wire that that oh god was bad i was so terrified david and gus would leave they dont deserve that)

timing wise too contestants get waaaaay less time than ususal which i personally think they should get slightly longer at least at this point in the season and then midway have it be this short but i can see why theyve gone this way they do need to differentiate grandmasters

i get stressed watching them and i will start sobbing if someone leaves THOUGH THOUGH I WAS CHEERING WHEN KALE LEFT OH MY GOD THAT MAN BOILS MY BLOOD

i feel bad for trent tho its not his fault he should have been paired up with a better partner kale just cannot listen and the entirety of australia was cheering when kale got booted out even brick man didnt shed a tear

heyy uh idk if this is a little tmi but anyway LIke 2 years ago i was tested for autism, it was supposed to be two parts and part one was like describing people in photos, what they were doing, what there expressions ment, ect then i was read to and had to recite sentences. but uh, the lady testing me couldn't get the second part of the test because someone lost the key to the room it was in, so i only ever did that first half? and i was supposed to have a full meeting w/ her and my dad to go over the results but we just, didn't? and all that was sent was an email that said that i was totally normal and theres nothing to worry about dont worry about it ur totes fine (btw i live in Australia if that matters)

Two years later and ive been hesitant to really say much about it for fear of being labeled as like “o em g i have autism and its so cutesy fun and i also have 20 other mental illnesses” but more than once ive had multiple friends be like “huh r u sure your not autistic? and googling symptoms it seems like i have more than a couple symptoms, im also afab, um could someone point me in the directions of some resources i could perhaps take a look at? im not really sure what to do, ive made an appointment with a doctor for next week, but im just not sure what to do with myself in the mean time? am i over reacting with the test thing? whenever i bring it up with my parents they sort of glaze over it and say that im fine, im not sure i have austisim as i really really dont want to self diagnose, and ive also had friends tell me that I might have ocd? I am constantly suffer from executive dysfunction to a point were im failing my classes, i also get sensory overload frequently and extreme audio sensitivity. I also have compulsions to say words, like saying things i see and repeating words (eg, saying worm every time i see a worm, or repeatedly saying the word worm aloud after seeing one) and also feeling the need to touch things to specific parts of my body, usually something smooth/ oddly textured to the center of my hand. i also have a poor social filter, i will say things that i ment kindly as compliments of neutral statements but will then make people upset and i normally wont understand why until the tell me (Eg, saying I love your eyebags, or you smell like a stick insect! or your nails are so pretty and long, they would be perfect for picking up baby snails  ((these unfortunately are things ive actually said to randoms at school and i will never live down)) and also,,,,,,,, god im rambling thanks for still reading, i also tic and stim, i frequently experience premoitory urges to touch parts of my skin, crack or move my neck and flinch. i frequently flap my hands. oh and i also have lots of urges to eat things that are not edible eg, paper, rubbers, wood, metal wires, dirt, rocks, plastic, ect ect. ALSO i regularly end up making rules for myself in my head, like “you cant eat the chocolate until you have finished this video” or “you cant go to the bathroom until you find and watch and like a yt short” and i also tend to think to do things in a specific order, like i will chop the vegetables then clean the pot im going to put them in, then ill get nervous and upset when someone cleans the pot for me before i chop all the vegetables. ok um this got off track fast, uh anyways if anyone can link some stuff i would like that please and thank you

SOO I GO TO SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY ABSOLUTELY WIRED. i mention to my friend what happened the previous night and my teacher overhears and shes like: hey what the fuck! so i go about my day and things go Wrong when i go home. the school had told her What Happened and she wS like. huh.
