I finally saw the Naruto Road to Ninja movie last night, and I gotta say, it was really good! I went in knowing it had quite a bunch of Narusaku ship tease and wacky alternate versions of the Konoha cast I knew and loved, and then got hit by surprise by all the family drama and feels.

Really I'm surprised and disappointed there's not much discussion or content related to that movie (especially among Narusaku fans, since this movie is an obvious goldmine!), but maybe I'm just coming to this topic years late and missed it.

ok I liked that scene. it's pure sitcom shenanigans. ronen's delivery is everything. those reactions and iris calling him short sjjsjs. I love her throwing down the gauntlet to TK and rubbing him the wrong way with how nonchalant she is. she's indeed blunt in a way that her tone felt like she's coming in hot to give TK a shovel talk but she's ultimately not mean and rather funny. how the whole talk was basically a blunt teasing and then TK listing his NDEs (and a god forsaken unknown third coma that no one ever heard of sjjsksk *lone star being consistent with both not fact checking and throwing logic away* "it's a bit more than average" yes it is sjksj).

#Also after this I still don't consider getting a scene from lone star of TK reflecting on his feelings carefully about this marriage being #a secret in carlos' life that he's only discovering now — and only because there is a cut off point and a deadline to undo it. because #that was obviously the decision from the get go of this arc in 4x01 — to downplay it — to only use it as a catalyst for the drama that #will ensue and to be the gate into an introspective look into carlos life prior TK #even though it has a very paradoxical logic and #ultimately just taints the characterization in a very odd way where the writers' decisions and error is more obvious than the #characters behaving irrationally. #Aside from all of that. you can literally see in the moment during that first skyjao scene in ep 13 where jao realises how safe he is with sky, that no matter what jao knows sky will always respect his boundaries and i think that’s why we see jao open up a little more because it’s something you don’t see often, he had sky tell him that he doesn’t know if he can hold back anymore and he still did. we saw sky notice the visible uncomfortableness of jao as he leaned in and then he backed off and reassured jao if now (or ever) he is not ready or doesn’t like to or want to be physically intimate with him that it’s okay. and i think that’s something jao really needed to hear.

The Dance Has Finally Arrived

The most surprising thing that has occurred to me this evening is the fact that so many people have wanted to dance with me, and not just those involved in the exchange program. Granted, I think some of the demons I danced with wanted to eat me once we were done, but they didn't, which I take as a win.

I'm currently sitting next to Asmo after Mammon insisted on having me as his partner for the last two dances. Asmo's in the middle of telling me a story about one of the demons he danced with when Lucifer approaches us.

"MC," he states, interrupting Asmo. "I'd like for you to dance with me." He extends his hand out to me, to Asmo's glee. Thankfully, the fifth brother has enough decorum to not squeal in the ballroom, but I can see the excitement in his eyes. Nervously, I get up and take Lucifer's hand, and he guides me away from Asmo.

"You've been quite popular this evening," he says as he helps position me. "I think everyone here likes you."

"That's a relief," I reply. His left hand grabs a hold of my right, and I feel a stone press flat against my hand.

Can you hear me? I hear Lucifer's voice ask in my head.

Yes. I answer. The stone must allow people the ability to communicate telepathically.

"I'll lead," he responds out loud as the music begins playing. As soon as our feet begin moving, our mental conversation resumes

Do you know why I asked you to dance with me?

No.

In general, there are all sorts of reasons why one might ask someone else to dance. For example, they might be interested in them, they might want to touch them, or they might simply be doing it out of politeness.

My guess is that you're doing it out of politeness.

No. I'm using the opportunity to have a private conversation.

But you don't want anyone to overhear us, hence the stone.

Exactly. You know how you said you've been worried about me?

Yes.

Well, I've been worried about you myself. I know that you've not been in control of all of your decisions.

Am I in trouble?

No. Not with me. But we both could face dire consequences if Diavolo found out that I disobeyed his orders to send my youngest brother to the human world and that you've come into contact with him and are now possessed.

Then why did you allow me to sleepwalk my way up the stairs?

Because the longer I kept you away, the more dangerous Belphegor would have become in his attempts at getting you to him. I know you are trying your best to fight him, but he's very good at getting his own way, as you've been forced to witness. He's using you to escape the attic, and I'm afraid the only thing I can do is postpone his plans. Since he possessed you in your dreams, I can't stop him completely.

What will you do to me when he does escape?

I don't know. There's a part of me that wants to show you no mercy when you've become a threat to us, but there's also a part of me that wishes to destroy my brother for what he did to you. He's forced you into a very similar situation to the one I'm in with Diavolo, and it infuriates me. I at least was able to make that decision, however painful and loathsome it has become.

Is there anything I can do to stop him?

Keep fighting him for as long as you can. That's all you can do. The song's almost over, and Solomon looks very eager to dance with you.

I love the final confrontation scene in general (mostly because I love Near but also because Light in that scene both amuses me and destroys me emotionally) but I LOVE the bit in the 2015 J Drama (whats new?) Where Mikami tries to call Light God and Near, for the first time in the series, yells "HES NOT GOD". It's beautiful and impactful and lives in my head rent free
