This, Stella explains, is to “protect delivering the performance”. The Italian engineer said: “In general, this year, we are paying more attention on the driver schedule over a race weekend.
“We want to make sure that drivers have the time to focus on performance, focus on having downtime, relax, and so on. So, we are using effectively the same approach.
“But if anything, even more carefully for Melbourne – there's many requests. But some we will accept; some we'll have to protect delivering the performance and we will not accept.”

Sometimes…
… I mystified by the worlds people apparently live in.
Like I know no one’s experiences are universal, but like.
Just saw a post that was talking about being raised w/ no knowledge or experience w/ Christianity whatsoever, and having people be shocked that they didn’t know… Obscure facts about Christian beliefs that even I, whose mother went to Catholic School, don’t know (although we are areligious and I’m sure I could ask her).
Like there were other things mentioned in the post like not knowing about the actual crucifixion etc. and it was also like, talking about being in an art history thing. But like. I didn’t know about the crown of thorns until I personally asked about it after seeing a picture, and I’ve never heard of water coming out of his wound. If you asked me to name monk denominations I could maybe do one on a good day.
This isn’t to say that Christianity isn’t treated as very common place, like my mother’s family is from the MidWest US, it’s very mainstay out there, and it’s very prevalent in a lot of European culture and history bc variations on it were the main religion of several European countries.
It’s just sort of a fascinating thing of three different angles all looking at each other in bewilderment, bc there’s people who know nothing about it apparently in situations where they are expected to know specific details, and then me, who was actually raised adjacent (like I said, not religious at all, Pagan at most), also really confused bc in my experience that’s mostly not common knowledge, either.
The world works in mysterious ways.

One thing i've run up against when dealing with fandom and characters making less than ideal choices is that people seem to treat a character's decision being sympathetic, the decision being understandable, the decision being reasonable, and it being objectively the best solution for the situation, as synonymous. When those are 4 very different things.

I'm not epileptic, but between the Cyberpunk2077 and Avatar 2 stuff, is anyone else getting the feeling that studios are getting a bit more...lax with making sure their shit doesn't cause seizures in photosensitive people?

"Can it run DOOM?" - boring, of course it can run DOOM, I've seen everything run DOOM from a knitted blanket to a pregnancy test to DNA
"Can it be used to recreate Bad Apple?" - exciting, imaginative, ALWAYS blows me away with the execution, an eternal banger, I am never expecting it and I am always pleasantly surprised to see Bad Apple in a new medium

today for disability pride month, i’d like to discuss something not many able-bodied people know about: ambulatory wheelchair users!
first, “what is an ambulatory wheelchair user?”
it’s a term used to describe people who use wheelchairs that can stand and or walk in some capacity. the amount a person can walk can vary greatly between ambulatory wheelchair users, some may need their wheelchair 60% of the time, some may need theirs 90% of the time.
“why would someone use a wheelchair if they can walk?”
there are tons of reasons someone who can walk might use a wheelchair, such as fatigue, balance, heart problems, pain, fainting, and many, many more. it could be dangerous for them to walk.
“isn’t that being lazy?”
nope! take shoes, for example. you *could* walk without them, but it would be painful, and could give you cuts or blisters. would you consider wearing shoes to be lazy? also, many disabilities and conditions are progressive, using a wheelchair can help slow progression and damage to your body.
so next time you see a wheelchair user move their leg, remember that ambulatory wheelchair users exist!
