hi GT! thanks again for the great chapter—loved it (as usual).
just wanted to come on here to sing you praises with just how well you write touch/physical affection especially in the most recent chapter’s first half: draco & hermione being v touchy while entering hogsmeade vs. draco’s jealousy with ron + hermione, and how you depicted draco’s reaction to both (i.e., his awareness on just how not-platonic his actions were vs failing to see that ron and hermione might not be also sharing the same thing) and the way his jealousy flares up. it’s starkly real and engaging and you just leave us wanting more.
just wondering: would there be more platon-ish (or more) moments in the realm of Lionheart, since the books were PG?
hope u have a good day!!
Thank you very much! I hope you have a good day, too.
I think of Lionheart right now as a story that rides the line between PG-13 and R (for gore, and I guess also technically for swearing, since there's been more than one "fuck.") Those things will only scale up as the story goes on, to an extent that will soon surpass the books. If the original series can be split up into "children's / young adult" around the lynchpin of Book 4, I think of the volumes of Lionheart as "children's / young adult / new adult." New adult is, naturally, more capacious as a genre than young adult is, and I'm cautiously feeling out my comfort level in the new territory it opens up.
To be completely honest, I'm still making up my mind on how far to push past canon there. I know that explicit scenes are common and welcomed in the D/H fanfic space, to an extent even expected, but the jury is out on how much it will be relevant/necessary/something that I'll enjoy writing. (I'm aware that this is a totally confusing and not helpful answer. Friend, I also wish it was not like this.) Basically, I'm just trying to figure out what the story needs.
I guess the most I can say currently is that I'd definitely be comfortable writing it — I've written it before — and for the rest, I'll play it by ear.

Butterflies today instead of bees. I think I found the perfect group of species for fairy wings. The glasswing butterflies.
Hyrule deserves pretty, shiny wings.
Oh I love glasswing butterflies! I’ve seen pictures of them before, I love how they have lots of colors and the clear sections, so pretty

HC’s for Ghost on his days off? (up to you if you want to have a SO involved). What does this man do when he’s off duty? Does Ghost make way for Simon Riley, or is that part of him truly dead? How does he occupy his time when he isn’t busy exerting all of his energy and focus on missions? Heavily inspired to ask you this because I am currently reading your Neighbors series and absolutely loved the way you’ve depicted the loneliness and isolation a soldier can feel after getting back into the “normal” world and being amongst civilians.
So, if Price is awful at being back home, Ghost is absolutely horrendous at it.
Practically, his days probably involve working out, going to the firing range to keep his trigger finger active, and doing admin work on base like filing reports and all that (which I haven’t depicted John doing yet in Neighbors because he’s fully on leave. Also I forgot).
Emotionally? He’s deeply isolated. Because I don’t think Ghost allows Simon Riley to come to the forefront. That defeats the purpose of being Ghost—which is to allow Simon to pick and choose when he’s going to be the man that failed everyone he’s ever cared about. Understandably, Ghost doesn’t want to be that man very often, but Ghost is not someone fit for polite company. Ghost’s first language is cold, calculated violence. Ghost wears a balaclava with a fucking skull on it, if not the full-on plate mask. There are few social niches that could make room for someone like him—much less that he could tolerate.
So he’s alone, more often than not, unless members of the 141 visit him, which I think will only become more frequent after Mexico and the defeat of Hassan. Other than his teammates, he has no one.
I think, when you get down to it, Ghost probably avoids getting time off like the plague. He’ll volunteer for anything that keeps him busy. He makes sure that he is always the best choice for the kind of work that keeps him from having to be Simon.
I think the only thing he might look forward to at home would be if he’s fucking a civilian on the regular.

I wonder what happens during Forgotten Land on AWTDY AU?
oh!! i can answer this one easily, because awtdy au amps up significantly after the events of the alternate version of star allies, and in fact concludes before forgotten land occurs.
so realistically, forgotten land could happen mostly as normal! it is even implied to do so in a tongue-in-cheek way in one of the wrap-up pieces of prose i wrote for the immortality integer.
though there might be some changes to the way forgotten land would play out, due to the events of awtdy and the lasting impacts it's had on characters, their skills and relationships, and their resilience levels to specific things. but if anything, i think it would go even more smoothly than in the mainline series!

Ok..... Head canon time! Which of the skeletons open their ketchup packets by whatever way they pick them up? Who opens them by following the dotted line? Who tries to, but ends up tearing it all crazy? And which hooligan is responsible for this insanity?!
Suave is horribly and disgusted by how this has befallen these innocent packs and will share a small mix tape of songs.
Mixers socket is slightly twitching but while seeing his bother overly dramatic he throws them away and moves on with the club dailys.
Yōshi(xfederaltale) is fascinated by the stange packets. Likely she did it to see how.
Unagi (xfederaltale) does it. Fight against any that are not his protected.
Benji is always interested in new things that people who mail between the multi verse. He doesn't have to eat but when tries he loves everything he has been given....except pomegranate...how does anyone each one of those things!

The ability to fly would open up a new dimension to explore (in the mathematical-physical sense—we already know Danny had opened one up in the other sense). Think of how much Danny would notice that no one else would?
Think of bees. (Not so much birds, because we see birds all the time, and also because they don't seem quite as graceful and maneuverable as bees.) When I did a search for how high bees can fly, I found something that said bees could fly higher than Mount Everest (little edit: may've misunderstood what it meant. They might not've been found flying that high after all, just that 'they could'). Bees can go anywhere they want, just for fun.
We as humans tend to (for the most part) view the world as six feet high. Anything six feet or under, we know about (or possibly up to eight feet. But it's not much higher than our height). And we don't really realize we're thinking this way.
Sure, we can look upward, we can see treetops from a distance, we can see what the sky looks like. But it's from the perspective of looking up from a distance. Our worldview is colored by looking up from six feet or less.
It's a flat surface. Despite us knowing it's not flat, we don't really internalize it as being 3D and navigable. And we also don't realize what's up there. Who would ever imagine there were bees buzzing around the top of a 200 foot tree? To get to flowers we didn't even notice were up there?
And, yeah, we have planes, but they fly in a set path and you can only look down at the very distant ground. Helicopters are probably more similar, but not many people fly or ride those.
But Danny... after the accident, he would've started out sticking close to the ground a lot, but as he started getting more comfortable with the ability to fly, his worldview probably would've changed gradually. From his preconceived idea of 'the world is six feet or less' to 'the world is spacious and easily explored and so very 3D'.
There's an episode where he's vacuuming the living room ceiling—as though he thinks his parents will notice that it's cleaner than before. And though I understand the 'I have to clean everything so I don't get in trouble' impulse better than I should, there's a chance it's partly from Danny seeing the house differently than before. The ceiling becomes just another wall for him. ...One that he might clean often when he has cleaning chores, because he's going to notice all those spiderwebs and cobwebs, and the little bugs gathering in the light fixtures.
(...He probably would realize the ground is also navigable at some point, too. Think of all the tunnels and moles and snakes and other creatures he'll see, and all the plant roots and such.)

Love the Nesta and Azriel fic! Would you consider using your literacy talents to bring us an Elain x Rhys cheating trope!? Too controversial?
You know- it's so tempting but if you saw the general messages I get when people remember I like Nesta or for just minding my own business while writing/shipping Elucien, you 100% would understand why I won't touch this with a ten foot pole.

(OLD OC SKETCHES)
Meet Sunnabelle Von Sunnoviche, final daughter of the Sunnoviche family. Peeking from behind a window, she witnessed a wizards final spell, one that reduced the world to a wasteland.
Her noble blood damned her to [HELL], but unwanting to suffer with her family, she made a deal with the devil. She now hunts in his name.
The top of her head was taken by the blast on that day.
The fires of her spirit have boiled her blood into a super-heated plasma.
