What’s in it for me?
Chapter 2/?
Chapter 1 Masterlist
Pairing: Kyouya Ootori x Reader
Author: see-the-fandom-imagines
Warnings: None at all.
Word Count: 2629
A/N: As mentioned before I take inspiration from anime and live-action, so I hope it isn't too confusing! :)
And yes, this is incredibly slow-burn, but hopefully worth it.Also I had to put this episode into two chapters, otherwise they'd have been too long. I know it's starting slow, but I got a few things planned for the next chapters, so stay tuned.
Tumblr media
It had been a few weeks now since you had started helping out in the host club and on most days everything went down smoothly. You went to work twice a week and joined Haruhi in Music Room 3 on all other days. After a while everybody got used to you, the girls would ask you less questions about Haruhi you had to dodge and you had talked a little more with each one of the hosts. You didn’t mind coming in so often to be honest, mostly because it meant you could hang out more with Haruhi, but you had to admit, as crazy as the other hosts were, you soon realized that they were some of the nicest people you ever met. Well, some were nicer than others, but still. You had rarely felt that accepted anywhere this quickly.
“They’re back to their nonsense…”, Haruhi stated and you chuckled, carrying a tray full of green tea, when suddenly a bunch of girls surrounded her. “Haruhi-kun, you look so great in that kimono!” “Yes, almost like a girl.” You smiled at her. She really did look beautiful. But as always when the topic got even somewhat close to Haruhi being a girl a familiar voice interrupted. “Haruhi, you've booked another appointment. It seems you've had a pretty steady flow of new customers lately. Keep up the good work.” Kyouya scribbled something onto a scroll while speaking. You wondered if he was actually writing or if that was just another useless prop. "I'm not going to charge you interest on your debt like I normally would, so keep this up and you should be able to pay it off. Although the rental fee on that kimono you're wearing is nothing to sneeze at.” He smiled sweetly, and all the girls seemed captivated by it. “Kyouya-sama”, one girl spoke up and you rolled your eyes. “You’re just too much in that kimono!” He took that compliment gracefully as you sighed and walked past, just trying to get out of the situation. “Oh, but why didn’t you get one, (y/n)-chan?” Surprised you looked up. A girl with dark brown hair had appeared in front of you, looking up at you with big eyes. "I bet you would look really cute in one, too." Did she blush? "Oh, well, I-" “Because she is not an official member”, Kyouya’s voice rang out without missing a beat and you simply chuckled dryly, looking down at your usual school uniform. “Ah, that’s true”, another girl noted, absolutely dazzled the second the older guy spoke up. “Let’s not talk about the rental fee…”, you murmured a tad too loud, so that Kyouya would definitely hear you, but the girls just kept on blabbering something about picture books. Somehow it didn’t even surprise you anymore that Kyouya sold secret photos of all of the hosts. You kept on listening, while putting down a cup of tea infront of another girl. But maybe you could use that to your advantage.
“Hey, Kaoru”, you yelled, waving the twin in your direction. “Just Kaoru?”, Hikaru spoke up and followed suit, taking one of the tea cups from your tray. You had known he'd follow in a flirty mood if you just mentioned his brother. Kaoru didn't react this strongly. Carefully you took out your mobile phone from your pocket with your free hand. “What is it, (y/n)”, Kaoru said, smiling at you, bending over so he could look into your eyes, but your gaze was fixed on your phone. You held out the tray for him, so he'd take the other tea cup, before placing the now empty tray on a random couch. “I just wanted to bring you some tea”, you said, smiling at him. He didn’t quite seem to believe you and his gaze fell on the phone in your hand. “Do you want my number?” You smiled. That wasn’t quite what you had in mind, but, “yes, if it’s alright with you?” Hikaru appeared on his brother’s side. “How unfair, what about me?” “I want your number, too, of course. I thought now that we are friends, we should be able to contact each other, no?”
Minutes later you sat down in front of Kyouya, sighing, playing with your phone. He didn’t even look up. “Is it time for your break, yet?”, he asked, but you chose to ignore that question. You lowered your phone, before bending over the table a little, trying to make eye contact. “Instead of making me carry stuff, let me help you with that”, you said, pointing at his scroll and the tablet that was hidden underneath a cloth. Only now did he look up and raised an eyebrow. “What? I might as well help out in a way that’s a little more useful, no?” Kyouya still didn’t seem convinced. You sighed. “You need photos to sell, but only got random blurry pics, correct?” “Yes”, he said. “You think you can sell them?” “Not quite”, you said. “But you need photos, no?” Kyouya finally put down his scroll. You had successfully caught his interest. “So you’re saying you can deliver pictures of all hosts that are good enough to sell?” “Better”, you smirked and lifted your phone.
Kyouya looked at the picture you had just taken of him, entirely without him noticing. It wasn’t the most professional picture ever, but it was also not blurry and it looked weirdly natural. “It looks like we’re on a date”, you exclaimed happily, but hushed your voice as you noticed some girls reacting to what you had just said. Kyouya seemed irritated at first but then began to understand. “Scroll through”, you told him, and he did. “Pictures of the twins”, you explained unnecessarily. “Look me in the eye and tell me those don’t look like the pics a girlfriend would take.” Kyouya smiled, before looking back up at you. That was smart. And no one had even noticed, which would make the pictures even easier to sell, since none of the other hosts would complain too much. You were really quite something. Maybe he had underestimated you, not that he would ever admit to that. You saw the sparkle in his eyes and grinned confidently. For a moment the both of you were just looking at each other, trying to read each others expressions or even minds, if possible, when suddenly you were interrupted by Tamaki shouting out random things again a little louder than he should have. Kyouya broke the eye contact and sighed. He got up, trying to see what that was about, but not without giving you a quick nod to signal you, that your talk wasn’t over yet.
"Damn it", you cursed, but got up as well, following Kyouya towards the commotion. The twins and Tamaki were greeting a girl that had partially hidden behind the door. She seemed shy. A new customer? You instantly felt a little bad for her, having not only the twins, but also Tamaki approach you, could be too much for most people. Especially since Tamaki obviously had activated his princely charm. “Please, you don't have to be afraid, my Princess. I welcome you to the Ouran Host Club.” But the new girl didn’t hesitate. Before he could even finish talking she pushed him away, screaming loudly. “NO! Don't touch me! You're phony!” Tamaki stumbled back, holding his face in his dramatic fashion. “Wh-What do you mean, phony?”, he asked but she didn’t let him down easily. You had definitely underestimated her. That girl was everything but shy. “Just what I said, you're phony! I find it hard to believe that someone like you is the Prince character of this Host Club! You shouldn't go spreading your love around so easily like that, you stupid!" Wow, she really kept going. "You must be a dimwitted narcissist! You're incompetent! You're a commoner! You're disgusting!" You waited a second to see if she was done, but had watched in awe as she kept insulting the self-proclaimed king of the club. Tamaki fell down, the other hosts watching him, concerned. Ouch. That hurt. Even Kyouya stepped closer, but only took a brief look at Tamaki, before he turned around to the girl. Realisation hit his features. “Could you be…” Surprised you watched his expression change, before you heard the girl scream again: “Kyouya-sama!” She ran towards him, pushing you out of the way and making you stumble backwards. Kyouya saw you fall, but he couldn’t react fast enough, for the strange girl had wrapped her arms around his waist. Thankfully, the next thing you felt wasn't the hard floor, but a pair of arms holding you, right before you would have collided with the floor. “Thank you, Senpai", you smiled up at Mori, who carefully helped you back to your feet. Your gaze shifted back to Kyouya who had instinctively lifted his hands, trying very hard not to touch the strange girl. Surprised you looked from him down to her, and back up to him. His gaze met yours and he looked like he wanted to say something, but she interrupted. “Oh, how I've longed to meet you! My one and only Prince Charming.” For the first time since you had started in this host club, you were entirely out of words.
----
“Fiancee?”, the twins yelled in unison. “Kyouya’s?” “Yes”, she confirmed. You kept staring at Kyouya, who had remained silent the entire time. “Kyoyas fiancée”, you repeated, the word left a bitter taste in your mouth. "Did you know about this?", you asked Haruhi, who sat next to you, looking at least as confused as you were. "I had no idea", she whispered back, before the new girl continued to speak. “I am Renge Hoshakuji”, she introduced herself, but you still only stared at Kyouya. Was he really engaged? Maybe all those dramas were right and rich young kids did get engaged by their parents. Or did they choose to get married? No, that couldn’t be, the way he had lifted his arms as she hugged him really didn’t seem like they were deeply in love with each other. If that was even an emotion Kyouya could feel. “Ours is a story of love at first sight! I couldn't resist the way you were adoring those flowers in the backyard when you thought no one else was looking. And how sweet it was when you reached out to that poor little injured kitten.” “Is she serious”, the twins asked. “Could it be that you got the wrong person?”, Haruhi added. You still looked at Kyouya who finally realized your penetrating gaze and looked at you, face unreadable. “No way! I can recognize my love any where! He's a gentleman who's kind to everyone but doesn't ask for anything in return! He likes solitude but in fact sometimes he can get lonely!” The twins started yelling in the background, loudly expressing the confusion you all felt. That really did not sound in the slightest like Kyouya. Did he lead a secret life none of you knew about? You thought for a second, before you decided to speak up, also to hopefully calm down the twins a little. “If you’re engaged, why have you never met?”, you asked, and it worked. Everything went silent and the hosts looked surprised. “What?”, you asked. “Isn’t that obvious? She obviously needed a while to even recognize him and that description… No offense, but that’s not Kyouya.” “None taken”, he said, seeming almost pleased that his reputation hadn't suffered too much from her words. “She is right”, Hikaru started. “But it is quite common to get engaged without meeting the partner.” Your mouth formed a small 'o' and you looked at Kyouya, furling your brows. He noted your expression and couldn’t help but wonder what you were thinking. Were you … worried? Renge didn't even give anyone else the chance to react, though, because she almost immediately resumed speaking as if she hadn't listened to a single word either of you were saying. “He looks like the star of the popular dating sim Uki Doki Memorial! You're my real life Ichijo Miyabi!” She pointed at Kyouya, and suddenly the coin dropped. "Uki ..." "... Doki ...” “Memorial?” “Otaku!”, yelled Tamaki and the others followed suit. “I get it now”, Kyoya spoke up, “you're in love with that character. You're projecting that love onto me, and somehow deluded yourself into thinking that we're engaged. I assume this Miyabi character probably wears glasses as well.” “Ah my real Prince Charming! Ichijo Miyabi! I can't wait to get married! And we're gonna have the prettiest babies ever!” You felt the sweat drop from your forehead. Now she was already talking about babies. “So she made iit up, you’re not really her fiancé, right?”, Tamaki stated and Kyoya shook his head. “Well no, I don't remember ever asking for her hand in marriage." He thought for a while. "Besides, this is the first time I've ever met the woman.” Everybody stopped dead in their tracks, glaring at Kyouya angrily. Including you. “You could have mentioned you weren’t engaged ages ago”, you yelled at him, mad that he had made you worried in the first place. You sighed angrily and looked away. “I was worried”, you whispered, but Renge interrupted you again and this time you let her push you out of the way. You trained your eyes on the ground, not really knowing why all of this bothered you so much in the first place. Suddenly, you felt a hand on your shoulder. “He really could have said so sooner”, Kaoru said, squeezing your shoulder slightly while rolling his eyes and you smiled up at him. He must have heard you. "Thanks", you whispered, and Kaoru blushed a little, but kept his hand where it was. "Really, the last person you should ever worry about is Kyouya", he continued, making you chuckle. He grinned at you, before his brother caught his attention again. For a moment you thought about just leaving, but Renge was already back in action. Kyoya had gotten up, too, seemingly to get his notebook, but something told you he just wanted to bring some distance between him and her without seeming rude. He stopped next to you as Renge finished her monologue. “I've made up my mind! From now on, I'm gonna be the manager of this host club!” Everybody sighed. “That was an option?”, you whispered. Kyouya shrugged. “You didn’t ask for that position.” You shot him another unbelieving glance, before you got up, now feeling the need to bring a little distance between him and yourself. A bit overwhelmed, you decided to step next to Haruhi. Maybe she could help you feel a little more sane around here. “Is it always like this?” She sighed, watching the scene unfold infront of her. “Mostly, yeah.”
Tamaki joined your corner and stepped inbetween Haruhi and Kyouya. He obviously was just as taken aback by the sudden attack of the lady manager. “Uhm, listen, Kyouya…”, he started, but got interrupted almost immediately. “Miss Houshakuji is the only daughter of a very important Ootori family client", Kyouya explained with a smile. "So please be polite and try not to offend her alright?” You scoffed which earned you a reprimanding glance from the host club's director. But you didn't care and instead just looked away and decided to take care of your tea again. You really didn’t feel like acting like a clown for some random girl popping in and pushing herself on everybody like that. You picked up your tray and some empty tea cups. She had just waltzed in here, claiming Kyouya was her fiancé and that she'd be the club's new manager. You felt a pang of jealousy in your chest. Probably because of the manager thing. A tea cup fell out of your hand. You stared for a moment at the shards on the ground, before you sighed and began picking up the broken fragments. That would cost you at least a 1.000 Yen. Silently, you continued cleaning up, not feeling Kyoyas observant eyes on your back.

In-Depth Description: Coffee

Tumblr media
Where do I even start, on the outside they appear fine like there's absolutely nothing wrong with them. However that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Inside they’re really just broken and need lots of love. Which is why they have a bitter taste. Personally I think we have all been tricked by everyone who has fallen into the coffee territory.
Tumblr media
Talking about tricks we should look at Ota from Kissed by the Baddest Bidder. Tell me who else has fallen for his looks only to be disappointed? On the outside Ota appears warm and nice, like he has himself together, but truth be told this boy does not. Ota actually feels insecure and carries a lot of baggage surrounding his past (ahem trust issues). However, with the help of the Mc, he sees the light but only once you pass season 2.
Tumblr media
Another one who betrayed me is Hiroki from My Last First Kiss, he got me good. Not only did it turn out he was anything but a prince, it took longer for him to actually fall in love with the Mc or even reach her halfway. Uhem, I got a little carried away, forgive me for that. In conclusion, one who falls in the coffee category is just an insecure soul covered by the mask of beauty. Whoever is their lover definitely is the one in charge of the relationship and has all the rights to be.

She sleeps a lot during the day, but she always goes for a walk several times a day to protect her territory. She will attack anyone who comes into her territory, but when she realizes that they are not trying to take her territory, she becomes gentle, she shows them the way and asks for a cat food can. She seems to have picked up a smartphone on the roadside. [1]
Appearance
She has medium length dark brown hair and blue-green eyes with kemonomimi ears and a fish shaped blue hairpin. She wears a light beige and tan striped hoodie with black shirt underneath.
Personality
Tamaki speaks in a soft and pleasant voice that belies her strange sense of humor and whimsical nature. As befitting of a cat, her streams can be very random such as when she titled her stream as a "2D Announcement" only to begin a karaoke stream partway through before stopping and suddenly beginning a collaboration stream with other NIJISANJI members to play charades.
Due to her habit of joking heavily and her strong roleplaying abilities, many of her fans are often left wondering if what just happened on stream was actually real.
History
Following the popularity of their "Official NIJISANJI Virtual Livers," Ichikara Inc. opened a second set of auditions on 22 February 2018, featuring an unnamed "stray cat" as one of the available designs.[2] On 15 March, Ichikara Inc. formally revealed their second generation of Virtual Livers, introducing them as members of the group "NIJISANJI.[3]
2021
On 10 April, Tamaki revealed her 3D Model in a 3D model debut stream.
Relationships
Second Generation (2期生出身) - Tamaki, Suzuka Utako, Ushimi Ichigo, Ienaga Mugi, Yuhi Riri, Mononobe Alice, Fushimi Gaku, Kenmochi Toya, Gilzaren III, and Morinaka Kazaki.
Fumino and Fumi (ふみのとふみ) - Tamaki and Fumi.
TamaNgo (たまンゴ) - Tamaki and Suo Sango.

Trivia
Color: #EBDDB4 [4]
She has the nickname "airplane cat" from to the imagery in some of her videos, because the fan of her PC is really loud. Or "unlucky cat" due to difficult circumstances including often dropping her phone, getting her bicycle seat stolen, and the below.
She suffers from many problems around her, such as bad internet connection and bad luck.
She can mess up many things without getting punished by other NIJISANJI members, as long as she doesn't cause serious damage and loss.
She received the friendly nickname "clueless cat" from her fans because of her ineptness with technology. During a particular livestream on 24 April 2018, she failed five times to start the stream due to technical issues and was crying on the sixth attempt. Her YouTube channel's name had been the same text repeated twice - it can be assumed that that was accidental - for months.
In May 2018, Tamaki began experiencing problems with her throat that made speaking and therefore streaming difficult. She visited the hospital on a few occasions and on 3 June 2018, she tweeted a diagnosis of vocal cord Leukoplakia, basically a severe issue with the vocal cords that is a risk of cancer. She went for treatment and on 28 June 2018 she tweeted that it was going well and that she hoped to be active again within a week.
On November 10 2018, she wanted and won 2434 bags of potato chips from Calbee's gift campaign.
On one of her streams showcased here she was heavily sleep-deprived and managed to stay awake for a brief amount of time before she fell asleep. Whilst she was asleep it was assumed by most that her stream disconnected, but in truth she simply fell asleep due to her aforementioned sleep-deprived state, and during this time both the chat and Super Chat went into free time due to her not being awake to attend the stream, earning light-hearted hashtags/trends on Twitter such as "#Wake Up Fumino Tamaki", along with around 2000 viewers still on the stream. She woke up after four hours of sleep, shocked to see that she fell asleep whilst her stream was ongoing, and even more surprised to see both the amount of viewers that stayed during her nap and the amount of yen she recieved as she slept, which was about 250,000 yen, she greeted her fellow viewers after her nap and explained that she expected her stream to disconnect, and was surprised to see that it was still active during her rest, thanked the viewers for them being there even as she slept and for those that donated the aforementioned yen, even jokingly mentioning that she should sleep again to see if such an event happens again. [5]
Tamaki lives with 4 other cats. Originally she had a 5th cat, but it became ill and "was taken away".
Tamaki has dislocated her jaw while streaming on two separate occasions. On one of the occasions, she managed to dislocate her jaw twice during the stream and fix it both times. On the other, she had to have Kenmochi Toya and Morinaka Kazaki, who she was streaming with, end the stream for her because she couldn't fix her jaw.
On 3 February 2021, the "#NIJINYANJI" project was held, which included the Indonesian, Korean, and Indian variants of NIJISANJI, which showed the liver's models dancing to the video known as "Nyanyanyanyanyanya!". However, Tamaki, the stray cat herself, was not invited to the event (because of NIJISANJI's official policy was to only use 3D models). So she started to play "Nyanyanyanyanyanya!" at the same time as everyone else - for 12 hours, mind-blowing due to other member's videos being their models for around 3 minutes.
On 13 February 2021, she tweeted out that she may have broken her hand during the 7.1 earthquake that occurred late the previous day. She later confirmed that the microwave near her bed fell and landed on her hand and that it was indeed broken after going to the hospital.

Gilzare's stream output is very inconsistent and usually only streams once every few months. Despite this, his viewer turnout is usually quite high in comparison to his subscriber count. As of 4 January 2023, he has only streamed 31 times (34 archived videos in total) since his debut.
Gilzaren is known for being a big fan of VTubers and lurking/commenting in chats, as well as updating his music playlists, which are filled with VTuber-related music. However, as he is slightly inactive when it comes to streaming it has become a running joke for VTubers that see him in chat to tell him to stream more.

HIKIKOMORI: QUANDO CI SI RITIRA DAL MONDO
Tumblr media

It's difficult to be a warmonger when war may come in your own home.
The post is machine translated
Translation is at the bottom
The collective is on telegram

⚠️ THE GOVERNOR OF OKINAWA PREFECTURE TRAVELLED TO CHINA | DIPLOMACY, CULTURAL AND COMMERCIAL RELATIONS - NO TO WAR WANTED BY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ⚠️
🌸 Those who have been following the Shaoshan Collective for a long time know the Okinawa issue well, and know that - should the contradictions between China and the USA exacerbate to a point of no return - Okinawa Prefecture, in perfect US "proxy war" style ", could become a Theater of Battle with the People's Liberation Army 🌟
⚪️ For those who don't know anything about it, it is recommended to read the posts below to better understand the issue:
▶️ Tensions between the PRC and Neo-Militarist Japan: Okinawa Issue, intensification of PLA intelligence and reconnaissance activity in the Okinawa Area, crossings of the "Liaoning" Aircraft Carrier Strike Group, sending of the " Flying Dragon" and BZK-005/007 beyond Miyako Strait: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII ◀️
🤔 The real question is, do the people of Okinawa really want to engage in a war with China at the behest of US paper tigers? ⚪️
🤡 An official of the Taiwan puppet regime, as a true traitor, declared that the deployment of US troops in Okinawa "is essential for the survival of Taiwan", see: destruction of Taiwan, as well explained by Yok Mu-ming 🐲
🤔 However, Denny Tamaki, Governor of Okinawa Prefecture, is not of the same opinion, who has declared that he wants to build ties with China, publicly rejecting Kishida's anti-Chinese statements on the Taiwan issue, which represent yet another interference by lackeys US in China's internal affairs
📊 Approximately 70% of US military bases in Japan are located in Okinawa. Local residents and politicians, including Tamaki, have complained about sexual abuse by US soldiers, pollution, and the use of Japanese land by American paper tigers 🇺🇸
🇯🇵 Tamaki, therefore, went to China, to try to strengthen the economic and cultural ties between Japan and China, and visited both Beijing and Fujian Province 🇨🇳
🐰 This does not mean that, should a conflict break out, and the Japanese militarists decide to intervene, Okinawa would withdraw from the war, capturing the US bases on its territory, but it is a precise manifesto of how even within the most subordinate Asian ally of the USA there are figures against a violent war 🤔
🤮 Meanwhile, Taiwan's puppet regime, led by the DPP's traitors, sellouts, and sex offenders, is demanding more and more Japan's contribution to the disgusting anti-PRC coalition 😡
🤧 Japan, instead of prostituting itself more and more in front of the US, should remember that it is an Asian country and should reflect on its long history of aggression before interfering in the Chinese Reunification Issue 🇨🇳

Ouran Rereading Reactions Part 3
Finally have a title for it. Will start formatting once I get on a computer whenever that is.
(Chapter 6-9)
Tumblr media
(top photo Ch.3, bottom photo ch.6) Spying on Haruhi. The Host Club’s favorite past time.
Quite interesting that Tamaki is the one who gave Takaouji the role (then again he gave everyone their respective roles so it is quite natural to him).
Tumblr media
Suo Family Story Kyoya oddly nice in his weird way.
Tumblr media
I can understand Hatori not drawing like that lol. BTW I think Renge’s appearance in the anime for Ch. 7 really improved the scene especially to make a comparison about Tamaki’s feelings.
Tumblr media
Vol. 2 rankings! Twins went up a lot! Yay!
Tumblr media
I will treasure this art with my life.
Tumblr media
Damned rich people. Can’t believe I remembered Nekozawa owning the beach though.
Tumblr media
If the translation is to be trusted this means the twins just reflexively ran over to save Haruhi and that is very cute. (We are counting out Tamaki in this specific situation lol)
Tumblr media
I don’t remember this. My god they addressed the issue much earlier. Didn’t have a conclusion but man will be thinking about it maybe.
Tumblr media
Heh
Tumblr media
gay panic follows. You think people would still be having intense discussions about the beach episode had they given the full context? Discussions for sure but I wonder about intense…

What’s in it for me?
Chapter 6/?
Chapter 1 Masterlist
Pairing: Kyouya Ootori x Reader Author: see-the-fandom-imagines   Warnings: None at all.   A/N: I struggled a lot to see if I want to put the whole Okinawa beach thing in 2, 3, or 4 chapters and it turned into 3 more or less long-ish ones! None of this is beta-read, as usual, so let me know if you realise any major issues! I hope you like it :) Link to Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/46325452/chapters/116633701
Tumblr media
You couldn’t believe they had actually invited you to the sea. Haruhi had told you that they had been in a holiday resort from Kyouya’s family a few weeks ago, so you really did not have expected to be invited to their Okinawa beach trip. But here you were. Your aunt had been a little suspicious at first, asking why a drama club needed to go to Okinawa – you hadn’t had the guts to tell her the actual purpose of the club yet, and let’s face it with all the drama going on you were technically not lying – but you had managed to convince her in the end, saying something about how you and Haruhi helped out behind the stage to make her believe you, as she was well aware that neither you nor Haruhi were really talented actresses. Something told you that Kyouya also had something to do with the fact that you had been allowed to go, he probably had promised her to keep her updated on everything, but you didn’t care. The beach was the beach and you really needed a little vacation after the last couple weeks. Although vacation was a strong word. You blinked a few times, the sun in the blue sky blinding you, while you kept handing out drinks to the girls, smiling slightly, while trying not to spill anything. This is not how you had imagined this trip to go. But at least you got to see the ocean. You had always loved it. You had given away the last glass, and let your arm rest for a second, as two girls approached you. “(Y/n)-chan, it’s really nice to see you here, too!”, they said, seeming a little embarrassed and you smiled at them. “Yeah, when Kyouya told us, you’d be joining, we immediately signed up.” She blushed. “Yes, these two princesses are new members to our host club. When I told them you’d be coming they were very willing to pay our vacation fee.” Your face fell and you turned around to the host that had just appeared behind you, sending you a smile, while writing something up in his notebook. He seemed to be very pleased with all the different ways he managed to profit off of you being on this trip. Typical. You sighed. “Won’t you come swim with us?”, one of the girls asked, sending you the broadest smile and forcing you to turn around again. You hesitated. “Ah, the truth is, I didn’t really bring a bathing suit.” Maybe you would have brought one if Kyouya hadn’t told you last second and sent the twins to pick you up straight after school to bring you here. At least they gave you more comfortable summer clothes to change into, but somehow you got the feeling that you’d be charged for these, too. “Well, that isn’t a problem”, the voice of the Hitachiin twins suddenly rang out behind you. “Yes, we brought an arrangement of bathing suits for…” “… every occasion”, Hikaru ended the sentence for the younger twin and they grinned at you, already having grabbed you underneath your arms to pull you away, but Kyouya’s cool voice rang out, stopping them in their movement. “I am afraid that won’t be possible.” “Huh? Why not?”, the twins asked again in unison, turning around with you. You felt a little like a ragdoll, but at this point you were somehow used to it. “Because she is here to work, not for vacation”, he turned towards you smiling his ice-cold smile that never reached his eyes. “Didn’t you say you wanted to help Haruhi?” Your blood froze in your veins, but you managed to wriggle free from the twins’ grasp, although they did seem a little disappointed. “Is it really just that”, Hikaru started and a smirk grew on his face. “Or are you just jealous, Kyouya?” “Yeah, maybe you just don’t want other guys to see (y/n) in a bathing suit.” “She’d look awfully cute, wouldn’t she, Hikaru?” “Awfully.” “Well, I guess, he wants her all for himself.” “How terribly egoistical.” You could feel his gaze on you and you looked up at him. You knew the twins were just teasing, but your cheeks had slightly heated up at their suggestion. Suddenly you remembered the last week.
“(Y/n).” You could hear a voice call your name. “(Y/n), wake up.” Sleepily, you blinked a few times, opening your eyes a little. But when you realized who it was that knelt just a few inches away from you, your eyes widened and you could feel the heat rush to your cheeks. “K-Kyouya-senpai?” Quickly you sat up, needing a second to adjust to the sudden change of position. You felt his hand on your shoulder, to stabilize you and somehow this made everything even worse. “You fell asleep during club hours”, he stated, unnecessarily. You were heavily aware of that. His hand left your arm and you mourned the loss of his touch for a millisecond. Your vision came back and you saw his expressionless face still closer to you than you wanted it. “Sorry”, you mumbled, looking around for your book and bags. Kyouya looked at you for a second, expression unreadable for you, before he got up, shouldering his own back. “Come on, hurry up, I have other things to do.” Quickly you shoved all your things in your school bag and stood up to, walking past him, your face bright red. “Sorry”, you mumbled, and wanted to start your flight, when you stopped in your tracks and sighed. “Thank you”, you added and bowed slightly, fully avoiding his eye contact, before actually leaving as quickly as you could.
You quickly avoided his glance, not ready to face the past embarrassment right now. “Sorry”, you muttered, “I’ll go back to get more drinks.” You smiled apologetically at the girls, who smiled at you kindly enough. You heard them talk about you, while walking away and you were glad that they had given you an excuse to leave the situation. “(Y/n) does care so selflessly over Haruhi.” “Yeah, she really does.” “Killjoy.” The twins accusing Kyouya was the last thing you heard before you were out of earshot.
“We are gonna play ‘Find Haruhi’s greatest fear’”, the twins proclaimed and everybody seemed really into the idea, especially after Kyouya had shown the possible price for the winner. “Did Ranka give you these pictures?”, you asked, eyeing them suspiciously. You had known Haruhi’s dad for a few years now and you knew how much he loved to talk about his daughter. “I like to protect my sources”, he solely smiled, watching the other hosts fawn over Haruhi’s pictures. “Ts”, you just scoffed, ripping them out of his hand. “If you guys don’t mind, I’ll hold onto these.” Kyouya let you keep them, but you were sure he had digital copies of them anyways. “(Y/n)-chan are you gonna play, too?”, Honey asked but you also shook your head and shrugged. “I know what she's afraid of. That wouldn’t be fair.” Also, you really didn’t feel comfortable with revealing her biggest fear to everybody just for a bet. You had found out years ago as she was staying over at your place and had suddenly vanished. Later that night you had found her in your closet. Immediately the twins cornered you. “You know?” “Well, tell us then!" But you just shook your head, stepping back next to Kyouya. For a change it seemed safe next to him. You had already been abducted twice today, a third time really didn’t suit you. “You wanted to make it a game. Let's see who wins.” Kyouya raised an eyebrow at you but smiled a little and yo"u tried to suppress the fuzzy feeling it triggered in your tummy. “Well then! Let the games begin.”
Kyouya had generously allowed you to sit down and relax with the girls for the rest of the day and while you were drinking some water, he stopped his writing, watching the other boys trying to find Haruhi’s biggest fear. “So, who do you think will win?”, you asked, trying to break the silence. He averted his gaze from the twins and turned towards you smirking. “What, are you willing to bet?” You scoffed. “Of course, I am pretty confident about this one. But it wouldn’t be fair, would it?” “I suppose not”, he admitted, looking at the huge transporter that had just pulled up on the beach. “Well?”, you asked, looking at him intently. The sun was highlighting the colour of his eyes, as he looked around, analysing the situation. He was in deep concentration, taking in every necessary detail. You just stared at him in slight awe. He really was beautiful you noticed. You knew you weren’t supposed to think these things, it was Kyouya after all, but you couldn’t help yourself. The way his dark hair contrasted his light skin, the way his face changed completely when he smiled. Really smiled. It didn’t happen often, but every now and then something caught his interest and then a real smirk appeared on his face. You were just glad that you had a reason to actually look at him, because otherwise you would have turned bright red, when he turned his head and caught you staring. He placed his right elbow on the table between you, resting his chin on the back of his hand. “Tell me first”, he said, eyeing you just as intently. You had caught his interest, you noticed slightly proud of yourself, while trying to withstand his intense gaze. “Is there anything Haruhi actually is scared about?” “Of course”, you shrugged. “Otherwise, would I ask you, who would win?” He seemed to think a bit, before he chuckled. “I do think you would.” “Only one way to find out”, you teased, keeping the eye contact. You were not going to lose this time. “I assume you’re not going to tell me?”, he asked, leaning a little closer toward you, his voice smoother than silk, one eyebrow raised. You had seen that move before, he had used it with some of the girls in the club, usually to make them buy another addition photo album. Nonetheless, your heart was beating a little faster. “You don’t actually think that works on me?” You held his gaze, trying to convince yourself that it actually didn’t work on you. He was just too handsome in-between. He chuckled and broke eye contact. “Well, given, that I am not part of the game…”, he hesitated, but then looked back at you. “Tamaki is going to win.” You raised an eyebrow at him. “Really? That guy?”, you said and pointed at Tamaki who was still running away from the snakes he had let loose on himself. “You’d be surprised”, he said, turning his gaze from Tamaki back to you. “So, who do you think will win?” “Easy”, you shrugged. “No one.” Kyouya tilted his head slightly. “So, you are saying it is impossible to find out?” “Well… not impossible, no”, you said, looking up into the clear-blue sky. “But very unlikely.” Kyouya followed your gaze and you were wondering if he had understood what you were implying. You knew that he could have won every single game of theirs easily, if he bothered enough to play. It made you wonder about whether he had in fact just let you win last week. He smirked at you, an eyebrow raised. “But you let them play anyways.” “Of course”, you took a sip of your water. “I wanted to see what they’d do.” Kyouya chuckled again, and you looked at him over the rim of your glass. There it was again. That real smile. When he genuinely seemed to enjoy something. “Don’t act like you’re any better than me”, you teased, but he just shook his head, leaning back in his chair, as well, watching the other hosts run around the beach. “Now, would I ever think that?” You left that question unanswered and took another sip of your drink as you saw Mori approach her with a huge harpoon. Where on earth did he get that?
You were strolling along the beach, enjoying a moment of peace and quiet and the feeling of the ocean air in your hair. You really loved the beach. Always had. You smiled slightly to yourself. Work or not, you were still really thankful they had brought you along. Suddenly you heard someone calling your name. “(Y/n)!”, the girls from earlier called you. They had climbed on top of a small cliff. You smiled up at them. “Will you come up to watch the sunset with us?” You thought for a second, but then decided that there was no reason to reject, so you climbed up the hill and sat down next to the girls. “Have you ever been to the beach?”, one of them, her name was Asuka you had learned earlier, asked, and you nodded. “Yes, a few times. When I was younger, my aunt sometimes went with me. I really like the ocean. The smell, the wind … It kind of makes you feel… free, doesn’t it?” When you were younger you had imagined how the ocean would keep you save, carry you away to strange countries you had never seen before. You smiled at the memory. “Oh look, Haruhi-kun is here, too!”, you heard one of the other girls say and wave down to your friend. You didn’t understand what Haruhi was replying, though, because from the corner of your eye you saw figures closing in on you. Three men, and they did not look like the friendly type. “Whoa, there are girls up here!” You felt the hairs on your neck stand up as they mustered you. Immediately you got up and stepped instinctively between the group of men and the girls. “Lucky”, one of them proclaimed, throwing away his beer. You didn’t dare to let him out of your sight. “Get behind me”, you ordered the girls, who immediately stood up, too, and did what you told them to. They were scared. So were you, but it was you against them and it was your job to protect them. Also you were somewhat used to this kind of behavior. “Let’s play together!” Your heartbeat sped up as they got closer, and you could smell the alcohol in the mens’ breath. They were drunk and if you had learned one thing about drunk people that they were unpredictable. Your breath quickened and your vision went blurry. Goddmanit, keep yourself together. You took a deep breath, this was really the wrong moment for a panic attack. But the smell, the smell was so familiar. Your knees gave away underneath you, but you didn’t fall, because you felt the strong grip of the guy on your wrists, pulling you up towards him. Fuck, you had reacted to slowly. “It must be dull, having no one but girls around, huh”, the guy who held you tightly by your wrists, asked, his face only inches away from yours. You felt sick, but you still couldn’t move. Your father’s face flushed before your eyes and you were close to passing out again, only the voice of the girls behind you keeping you awake. You took a deep breath and tried to get out of your stupor. You couldn’t let them hurt them. “Please stop”, Asuka tried to protect you. “This is a private beach.” But it didn’t matter what she said, for you saw from the corner of your eyes, how one of the other guys grabbed her. “What so you are rich girls?” You took deep breaths, biting your lip hard to stop the panic from creeping up on you. You needed to protect these girls. You were used to this, they weren’t. “Stop it!”, you yelled, your voice surprisingly stable, trying to free your wrists but the guy was too strong. In the matter of a second you decided to spit in his face and used the short moment of distraction to kick him in his balls as hard as you could. He let go of you long enough so that you could free your wrists and you turned towards the girls, ready to free them next, but suddenly you felt a hand in your hair, yanking you back painfully. One hand still buried in your hair, he wrapped his other arm around you. You could feel his hot breath against your ear and you smelled the alcohol again. It made you dizzy. “Little bitch”, he spat in your ear, pressing you tight against his body. Despite your kick you could feel the erection press against your leg and you wanted to throw up. This sick fuck was actually being turned on by this. You tried to wiggle free once again, but the grip on your hair was too painful. He let go of you with his other hand, forcing you to turn around to him and pushing you backwards a few steps. “You think you can just kick me like that, huh? You think you can play the little hero.” He let go of your hair, but he was grabbing your wrists again, painfully this time. You tried to step backwards, but stumbled, as you realized there was no more ground behind you. Out of the corner of your eye you saw the cliff ending. The only thing keeping you from falling was the guy in front of you and your breath quickened again. You were scared and you saw how it turned him on. His face came closer to yours again and your vision started to go blurry. It was all too much. The pain, the smell of alcohol, the fear. The fear. The fear. You had felt this way before, one too many times. You thought you had escaped; it had been four years since you had felt this scared, you thought, you had become stronger but instead you felt as helpless as you had felt your entire childhood. “Hey!”, you heard Haruhi yell, and the last thing you remembered was the man letting go of your wrist. And if you hadn’t been as dizzy as you had been, if you hadn’t been panicking this badly, you’d have safely fallen to your knees, but instead, with loosing the grip of the man, you lost balance and fell backwards. You had lost consciousness before you had even touched the water.
You woke up coughing and confused. Breathing heavily, you blinked so that your eyes got used to the sunlight again, and looked into the worrying faces of the host club. Right in front of you sat Haruhi and Tamaki. “Thank god, (y/n)!”, Haruhi yelled, but you could barely process it. You felt strong hands helping you sit up and as you turned slightly you realized it was Mori, hair dripping wet. You shivered slightly, realizing that you, too, were soaked. What happened? Haruhi wrapped her arms around your neck, not caring that she got wet. Oh right, the guys, Haruhi had tried to save you. “You’re alright”, you noticed breathlessly, and looked around, “how are the girls?” “Everybody is fine”, Tamaki assured you as Haruhi broke the hug to give you some space to breathe. “But you should rather worry about yourself. Haruhi told us what happened.” “We took care of these bastards”, Kaoru said, both twins noticeable angry. You bit your lip. You had had a panic attack. When it would have been your responsibility to be strong. “He was drunk”, you whispered, looking up at Haruhi, hoping she would understand. You felt how you started to shiver again, not from the cold, but from the memory of his breath on your face and felt Mori’s hand gently caress your back. “A doctor will arrive shortly”, you heard Kyouya’s cool voice speak out from somewhere behind you, but when you turned towards him, you realized he wasn’t looking at you. Was he mad at you? You turned the other way, to look at Mori, who was still staring down at you with worry in his eyes. His hand felt save on your back and although you knew you shouldn’t, you appreciated the touch. It grounded you and made you feel save. They couldn’t hurt you anymore. You watched a water droplet dripping from his hair and running down his face. He was the only one who was wet. “Did you save me?” Mori didn’t need to respond, you knew that he had. He really looked worried. “Thank you, Senpai”, you smiled weakly, and he nodded, helping you stabilize yourself as you were trying to get up, when suddenly you felt Kyouyas grip on your arm, forcing you to stand, while at the same time still stabilizing you surprisingly sturdy. “Let’s go”, he ordered, pulling you with him. You stumbled a few steps, but managed to follow. “The doctor will be in the house.” You looked back at the other hosts, who just watched you being pulled away and you were wondering why they just let it happen, but you didn’t have another choice other than to follow Kyouya. You didn’t see his face, as he had turned it away from you, but you followed. “No worries”, you reassured him. “I won’t trouble you because of this. I am fine.” Kyouya stopped walking for a second, taking a deep breath. You noticed he trembled slightly, before he pulled you with him again, grip as steady as it had been before. “Free of charge”, he said, still not looking at you. “You need to be checked. We don’t want the Host Club to get a bad reputation of not looking out for its members.” Surprised you blinked a few times but didn’t say anything. If you hadn’t known better, you would have almost thought he had been worried about you.

rating ouran characters based on how good their gaydar is because i’m TIRED of being silent about this
this is very much going to include a lot of my own headcanons about the hosts’ genders/sexualities so bear that in mind ig lol. for the record i do not think any of them are cishet
renge: 10/10 BAYBEEE!!! first of all renge is GAY. i firmly believe that her whole obsession with that dating sim character was a comphet thing and i think ppl forget that she has a phat crush on haruhi (sorry if u hc haruhi as a trans guy i simply think they are genderqueer w/o a pronoun preference) anyways she has the sharpest gaydar out of all of them. by the time she’s out of hs she has a solid wlw/mlm bond with kyoya and she and haruhi are dating. she is WELL VERSED in reading people and knows The Signs when she sees them. probably also really into astrology in college
kaoru: 8.5/10. kaoru seems very perceptive (and judgy). i just feel like he has good intuition. if he told me he thought someone was gay i would believe him. he’s known he’s queer for almost as long as he’s been in (and in part because of) the host club, but i also think he’s very private about it. he can sort of notice/pick out those same characteristics in other people
hikaru: 5/10. ok i hc both the twins as bi, but i think hikaru is a lot newer to iding as mlm than kaoru. he’s less comfortable with his sexuality, and that can affect his perception of queerness in other people. he still has some heteronormativity coloring his judgements, so sometimes he’ll be right on the money and sometimes he’ll be completely off. for example he had NO IDEA that kyoya or renge were gay but with haruhi and tamaki he thought it was obvious
tamaki: 6.5/10. bisexual king!!! so he g e n e r a l l y has a good sense for people, but he can also be really oblivious. like he’s the kind of person who would get caught up in whether x incident was a friend thing or a flirting thing when it comes to himself, BUT he is pretty good at telling when his friends are being flirted with. however, if he encounters a queer couple, he will sometimes still be surprised that they’re not just *really close roommates*
kyoya: 1/10. THIS BOY’S GAYDAR IS SO BAD!!!!!!!!! he seriously believed that every single one of the host club members was cishet until he was informed otherwise. granted, he did not grow up in an environment that really allowed for  the idea that there were other people “like him”. kyoya, as many of us know, is That Repressed Gay, and that can come with poor intuition. i like to think that tamaki would blatantly flirt with him (post-high school, when he has more of his shit figured out) and that it would go completely over kyoya’s head
haruhi: 6/10. so with haruhi, i think it’s less that she’s not perceptive and more that she just doesn’t give much thought to whether someone is queer or not. when someone comes out to her, she is rarely surprised, but if you asked her whether she thought x person was queer she’d probably just be like ???idk???? perceiving whether or not someone is queer has just never been a huge part of her life, and i think she’s the kind of person other queer people are automatically drawn to anyway, so seeking them out herself isn’t something she’s really had to do (i mean her parents. oh my god her parents)
mori: 3/10. he is clueless but occasionally right. people tend to believe that there’s a lot behind his silence, but he’s just like that. he’s not oblivious when like a girl says they have a girlfriend or a guy is flirting with him, but generally you will need to tell him outright that you’re not cishet or demonstrate it in some other obvious-ish way. however, he will be very pleased that you’ve chosen to tell him and receive the info warmly :)
hani/honey: 10/10. he is incredible and never wrong. he and renge knew everyone in the club was gay before anyone ever came out. they have brunch and talk shit together

If you don't mind could I get Tamaki and Kyoya (both yandere) in a poly relationship with the reader?
I couldn’t decide whether to write a One-shot or do some Headcanons, so I did both! Have the headcanons first though.
~Sweet boys! These two would treat you so well!
~Both Tamaki and Kyoya have the sense to court you normally, so you won’t see their darker sides until you already belong to them. Expect to be treated better than you ever could’ve expected. You’ll be smothered in dates to foreign countries, chocolate that costs more than your college tuition, anything you even might want. You might have to accept their confession out of guilt, not that either of them would ever try to pressure you. Kyoya is delusional enough to convince himself that you couldn’t be happier, and Tamaki really just wants the best for you.
~Compared to other couples, you’ll be able to live a relatively normal life. You can still go outside and see friends, as long as one of them is accompanying you. But, if you do manage to sneak out, don’t expect to get far. Bodyguards are positioned around your shared home at all times. If you attempt to escape, you’ll be ‘grounded’ until the two of them decide on an appropriate punishment. Nothing will usually happen to you personally, but your friends won’t be as safe. If you try to get out or break up with them, expect your best friend to lose a very important job, or unceremoniously go missing.
~If you happen to be especially rebellious, then they might be a little more… drastic. Tamaki will refuse to let Kyoya hurt you physically, but he can be talked into psychological punishments. For example, they might leave you in a completely blank room for a couple of weeks, until you’re either hallucinating or begging to talk to someone. It’s still not as bad as it could be, but their methods still leave scars. Even if they’re mental.
~Things are very touchy-feely, especially when you’re alone with one of them. Tamaki will be latched onto your waist whenever he gets the chance, and Kyoya absolutely loves traditional signs of affection. Small things, like forehead kisses and long hugs, are his favorites. In public, they won’t be as openly affectionate, but there will still be a fair amount of hand-holding and pecks on the cheek.
~I have a feeling that Tamaki and Kyoya wouldn’t really fight with each other. There might be some teasing, especially in certain situations, but there are very few actual jealous fits. This is great for them, but terrible for you. If you try to turn them against each other, it absolutely won’t work out in your favor. They love each other almost as much as they love you, it’s really remarkably healthy.
~Kyoya would be a stalker from the start, and Tamaki would only encourage him. There will be active cameras placed around every room in your home, mostly for when they can’t be with you directly. Neither of them will be subtle about it, eagerly showing you every cute recording they happen to capture.
~As long as you behave, you’ll be treated like royalty. You’ll receive everything you ask for, and all your enemies will be taken care of with no loose ends. All you have to do is sacrifice your privacy, independence, and autonomy!
