#I had a lot of fun designing this!!!!! #i used the volkswagen kombi van as the base model and drew inspiration from modded cars with high rides #to kinda mimic those old horsedrawn caravan wagons.. i tried to keep functionality in mind so the tire covers on the chassis have #grips for where you would put your feet if you were to get in the drivers seat kinda like those huge freight trucks.. and since the ride #height is a little high theres a pool ladder attached to the back to mimic a caravan and to help ppl get in from the back #also exciting coming up with the stage side door.. i dont know exactly how it would work but i imagine the handle at the top #has to be turned and pulled in order to set up the stage.. and then theres a locking mechanism to keep it in place..?? #theres also a stage curtain right behind the door where sleight would come out to do his performance so thats fun!!! #i dont have much to say abt the interior except i forgot to include the ladder which would help reach the skylight #the skylight is a little domed and i riffed that off the kombi camper too but its to contain his butterflies before and after shows ^_^ #the hatch is inspired by the net stormdoor at my aunts house.. kinda like chicken wire?? and then there are flowers and pupae #idk if im ever gonna get around to coloring this but im happy finally getting my ideas down and turning it in my head lol #my art #myart #my oc #oc #sleight #concept art #interior #laikas comet oc #fan character #doodles

I gave in to a Craigslist ad that had been up for a couple weeks & met the person yesterday, to take 3 hermit crabs. I thought they were likely pretty small from the ad picture, but two are VERY small - 1/2" to 3/4" shell openings. The biggest is about 1" opening. And of course I JUST gave away all my smaller shells at Crab Con. 🤦 So I already placed a couple orders online, and I'm running to some craft stores after work today.

Despite not being prepared with shells like I should've, I am glad I have extra space and containers. The big baby is quite active and already changed shell once. However, the smallest just molted, and I set them up to finish eating their exo in their original tank. The other small baby has yet to move since I got them, which worries me. But I have 2 more small tanks available if I need to isolate them too! I'm anxious to get home and check on them today.

Yesterday I put up some more of my peel and stick wallpaper and we’re so nearly done. I know this is going to sound crazy considering the precision necessary for the task but it was actually so much fun! Although it didn’t seem it at first high quality peel and stick IS forgiving.

My tips for anyone who is insane enough to try wallpapering something is to choose a really busy pattern. At first you will ask yourself why you chose something that requires each point to line up precisely. Then when the full picture is produced you’ll realize that you were never going to be completely lined up and that the business of the pattern hides those imperfections, and you’re going to love yourself.

And for the love of all things that need caretakers, always have at least one if not two people on hand. It’s not humanly possible to do it with just yourself.

The tip that saved the project was the realization clear masking tape / duct tape wouldn’t hurt our paper if it was taped to it, so we taped the sheet to the wall to pre-align it before taking the backing off. Only downside was sometimes when taking the tape back off the heavy duty yet thin tape didn’t come in one piece, so I would fold the tape over on itself and leave a pull tab.

When you’re using a razor to cut away the excess always hold the razor straight on and never at an angle, or you will lose some of the paper and the wall behind it will peek through! I have a black wallpaper so with any imperfections I was able to cut strips from another piece and fill in the gaps where I could see the wall behind.

Expect it to take hours and hours and hours and hours. Tomorrow is our last day with it and we will have spent three separate days on what doesn’t look like a lot.
