Fic authors self-rec! ✨
Rules: When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you’ve written, then pass on to at least five other writers (if you would like to)
I was tagged by @ineffable-kelpie here, thank you! I tag @two-hands-toward-the-sun @ale-hoatzinsrocks @shinyhappygoth @cheeriosandwine and @edosianorchids901 (only if you want to of course!!)
I have to admit, I thought it’d be much harder to pick, but I limited myself to one fic per fandom and it made things easier (except for GO, I do like all of my GO fics very much). so here they are, in the order I’ve posted them, some of my favourite fics I’ve written:
Joanna McCoy's Week In Space | Star Trek: TOS | Rated G, 22k words, 7 ch. | Spock/Leonard McCoy
Joanna McCoy visits her father aboard the Enterprise for the first time when she is nine years old. This is the tale of that week.
This one is just fun, to be honest. Joanna having fun bonding with the Enterprise crew, a few cute spones moments, some father-daughter bonding, all of that.
Crush | The Adventure Zone: Balance | Rated G, 3k words. | Lup/Barry Bluejeans
Blupjeans Week 2021. Day Three, Prompt: Crush
All I have to say is these are tags I included in the fic: “"We've been married for fifty years and I still have a crush on you" - and autobiography by Barry Bluejeans”. They’re sick and very sappy and in love, thats all.
Gotham Online | DC, Batman | Rated T, 18k words, 12 ch, WIP.
The Waynes and the Bats as seen through social media.
Social Media AU! And a lot of outsider POV, which are two things I love. I had a lot of fun writing this one, I’ll get back to it soon.
Epiphanies at dawn | Our Flag Means Death | Rated T, 3k words. | Stede Bonnet/Izzy Hands, background Edward Teach/Stede Bonnet/Izzy Hands
An unusually slow and quiet morning in the life of Israel Hands gives him the opportunity for his first lie-in in bed in decades.
My first OFMD fic. Honestly, it’s just very, very soft. Some of the tags are: non-sexual intimacy, tenderness, fluff, communiction, explicit concent, and litterally sleeping together.
In your presence I trust | Good Omens | Rated G, 1.6k words. | Aziraphale & Crowley, Aziraphale/Crowley
Crowley is having a bad time and he asks Aziraphale to come over.
My latest GO fic, and the first time I’ve used the hurt/comfort tag. I am very happy with this fic, tbh. It’s what I needed to write at the time and I love how it came out and I’m happy so many people seem to enjoy it as well.

Ed/Izzy fics
to have and to hold by FortinbrasFTW [T]
“What are you doing?” Izzy manages, his voice is very strange in his ears, like it’s coming from someone miles and miles away.
“Marrying you!” Ed laughs. Like it’s nothing. Like it’s a great bloody joke. “Don’t worry," he winks, "can divorce me soon as we get the discount on this fucking room."
Or how Edward Teach gave Izzy Hands a ring that he still hasn't managed to take off.
life lessons by softlyblue [E]
Israel Hands is fifteen when he meets Edward Teach.
Edward is seventeen, and the most compelling man Israel has ever seen. They’re both deckhands on a Dutch merchant ship, and at night Edward keeps them both up long past midnight with talk; they sleep in two slung hammocks beside one another, Israel curled up like he used to with his sister, Edward slung out with long limbs and dark skin, his black hair short yet and still about his ears, his arms, his fingers untouched by ink. “I’ve got plans, Iz,” he says in that soft voice, “I’ve got big plans. Bigger than spice trades and pigs.”
Israel watches his booted foot swing the hammock side to side. “I know you do.”
Blood and Marmalade by HipHopAnonymous [E]
The discovery of Stede Bonnet's leftover stock of marmalade on The Revenge has thrown Edward into an erratic mood. Izzy provokes him to violence until his captain returns to himself again.
bellyache by ripeteeth [E]
“Oh,” Stede whispers. “Look at you. Aren’t you a hungry thing?” His head tilts; his steady hand wipes Edward’s lower lip. “How wretched of me, letting you go hungry like this.”

Ed/Izzy + Crew — The crew loses Izzy's wedding ring
Ed and Izzy are married... not that Ed really acts like it, once they're aboard the Revenge. The ring that Izzy wears on his cravat is the ring Ed gave him on their wedding day.
One day, the ring falls off for [insert plot reasons here] and one of the crew find it. None of them have gotten a real close-up look at the ring, and so they don't realize that it's Izzy's until Izzy comes on deck and throws a royal bitch fit. The crew then decides to play 'keep away' with the ring, which culminates in one of the crew members missing the catch and the ring tumbling overboard into the ocean.
Everyone is expecting Izzy to tear someone's head off... instead, he just kind of *deflates*, like he doesn't even have the energy/will to be angry. Later, when Ed flips his shit over Izzy not wearing his ring, the crew intervene, heads hung low, and admit that they were the reasons the ring disappeared in the first place.
Bonus: + Ed steals Izzy another ring... and this one actually fits.

Ed/Izzy, Ed/Stede/Izzy — Post-S1 BlackHands is Actually Pretty Healthy, No One Believes It
It certainly doesn't start out that way, between the 'this is Blackbeard, not some namby-pamby in a nightgown pining for his boyfriend' debacle and the toe incident... but by the time Stede returns, Ed and Izzy are in a pretty healthy relationship and might even dare to say they're in love.
Stede doesn't trust it... and so the first thing he does when he boards the ship is forcibly separate them, reminding Ed of all the damage and hurt that Izzy's caused. He's shocked beyond belief when Ed doesn't immediately agree with him... instead, he breaks down, wanting to know whether or not Izzy's okay, what he did with him, when he can see him again, etc. He's genuinely worried that something bad has happened to him--that the crew are taking revenge for the marooning, or that someone tried to anchor him again--and Stede finds himself at a total loss for what to do.
The only thing that calms him is Izzy's safe return, and as Stede watches them together, he realizes that maybe Izzy doesn't have to be bad for Ed after all...
*Can be pre-SteddyHands if a!anon wishes, or the plot can extend to Stede gradually opening up to a new side of Izzy as he sees him for the first time through Ed's eyes. I'm mostly looking for an exploration of a world where Ed and Izzy start to heal together... and Stede realizing he doesn't quite fit in the same way he did before.

Ed/Stede, Ed/Izzy, Pre- Ed/Stede/Izzy — Stede confesses he's jealous of Calico Jack, Ed surprises him
Eventually, once Stede realizes that he'd been jealous the night Jack and Ed fucked off to the island, he confesses as much to Ed. Ed takes it in stride, because Stede has nothing to worry about from Jack... what happened between them is ancient history. Izzy, on the other hand...
Izzy may be a wee bit upset about Stede developing feelings for his husband.

Ed/Stede — Izzy officiates their wedding
I like to believe the source I read is correct. That if a ship's captain is getting married, the first mate officiates.
So somewhere down the road, Ed and Stede do marry, and after coercion (and much beseeching from Ed) Izzy officiates. He wants Ed to be happy, even though it hurts still to the day of the wedding.
After teary vows and the I Dos, a great party on the ship. And everyone has so much fun that no one notices that Izzy has left the party.
God forbid his misery ruin their happy day.

Ed/Stede — Modern AU, They’re married and the crew are their foster kids
Ed and Stede are happily married. Stede is excessively rich and wants to help people so they start taking in foster kids, especially older ones that have a hard time finding stability. Ed was a foster kid who never found a home so he is 100% on board with this.
That’s it, that’s the prompt but here are some bonus ideas:
- Izzy was their first foster and he is terrified of being replaced by someone new and this comes out as anger. Maybe he runs away the day Ed and Stede were going to ask if he would be ok with them adopting them and they have to go get him back?
- Stede is the most supportive, loving dad. He is just really good at interacting with these kids. Ed is terrified that he’s going to screw them up but ends up being just as good a dad.
- It’s not all happiness and light, these kids are traumatized and have been abused and there are setbacks but throughout it all Ed and Stede NEVER give up on them.
- One of the kids lash out at Stede in anger, hurting him by accident. They immediately assume they’re going to get beaten by Ed (he is very protective) but there’s just forgiveness and understanding and reasonable consequences (think no phone for a week) and they talk it through as a family.
- The kids start out thinking Stede is a huge dork and they can’t wait to leave (Ed seems cool though) but it doesn’t take long for them to become rabidly protective of both their dads. And at some point they get to defend their dads (standing up to bigots, defending Stede from the Badminton’s, passive aggression, etc…)
