Oliver Queen thoughts below
Yk I’ve always felt weirdly attached to Ollie on an introspective level but I couldn’t put it into words until I re-read Longbow Hunters recently and GOD. It’s such a brilliant depiction of Ollie, his values, how his mind works, and what spiritual enlightenment means to him. I love the way his hunter method is so different and unique compared to the detective style more commonly found in comics. The way he uses his intuition and comes to conclusions by watching and analyzing, and understanding the person. It’s a storyline in which Ollie temporarily leaves the flashy hero lifestyle he’d gotten used to, and goes back to his roots - traditional archery and becoming more in tune with the most primitive version of himself. It challenges the question of what is the human nature - is it progression or is it natural roots? I found Ollie’s inner conflict the most riveting part of the story; especially with how beautifully conveyed it was through Grell’s writing. Ollie overall is a character who challenges not only institutions and people, but the very elements of life itself. The whole story is him trying to be more true to himself, and it’s only in the end does he achieve that through killing Dinah’s tortures and with Shado’s guidance. Oh, Shado herself was so enjoyable for me as well. I forgot the charm to her initial appearance because well…it got changed over the years 💀 But the clarity she provided to both Ollie and the situation at hand, her need for vengeance tied with honor, and yet the compassion she gave that she absolutely did not need to give. Shado’s style of archery was better than his because she had already answered that question about the human nature. She’d already long come to terms with the lack of moral integrity, and I know it sounds cliche how I’m wording it, but Shado just overall is a refreshing mix of self-awareness and immoral actions. Anyways this is inspired because I was thinking about Nietzsche and Ollie, then I read Longbow Hunters again, and the theme of primal natures equaling truth was in my mind the whole time I read. Especially with the added political discourse in the storyline, and the background plot of Ollie and Dinah thinking about a family (with totally diff opinions). And I think it’s so interesting that the story fully acknowledges that Ollie’s most natural part of himself awakened because he was forced to survive on the island, that was his rebirth and what he deems to be his truest self. And it still wasn’t enough for him to face until the end of the story, when all is resolved but he’d committed murder.
Something about the truest version of yourself awakening once you embrace depravity, and allow yourself to be as human as possible, taking life and death into both your palms.

We’re approaching the five year anniversary(!) of when I first saw the biopic “Stan & Ollie,” which made me delve into Laurel and Hardy’s work and begin drawing them. Today would be Oliver Hardy’s birthday as well. I’m continuing my almost-annual tradition of redrawing my very first picture of the duo, based on the poignant dance in the final scene of “Stan & Ollie.”
My Laurel and Hardy love has helped me as an artist. Their movies influenced the comedy and timing of my comic strips. Drawing them forced me to break my old habit of drawing everyone with the same body type, so I could start embracing the contrasts that make life so interesting. They served as my gateway to the work of more comedians, all of whom I love, but L&H remain my favorites. I’m glad to have met many other fans from around the world on social media. And I’m honored that many of you have begun to associate them with me!

Ticklish (Stan Laurel x Reader)
Tumblr media
Title: Ticklish
Pairing: Stan Laurel x gender neutral!reader
Word count: 565
Warning(s): Making out, tickling, and fluff
Summary: What was supposed to be a make-out session between you and Stan turns into an all-out tickle fight.
Author’s Note: So... I basically wrote this fanfic as a way to get over my fear of the tickle torture scene from the film Way Out West.
Like my Nathan Chen fanfic Cheer Up!, I'm embarrassed because there's tickling in it, but I don't think it should be that big of a deal.
***
It was a rainy day, and you and Stan were lying together in bed. It was the weekend, which meant that not only would Stan give his friend Oliver a break from his troubles, but it also gave you the chance to spend time with your boyfriend. As you were resting against his chest, you felt a surge of inspiration that you couldn't help but smirk at Stan.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Stan?" You winked.
"I certainly am," Stan replied before planting a kiss on your lips.
And so it went, an innocent kiss turned into a passionate make-out. As you got on top of him, you couldn't help but dig your fingers under his shirt. Your fingers spidered all over his sides that Stan's lips parted away from yours, a laugh escaping from his lips.
"Oh my gosh, Stan," you laughed, "are you... ticklish?"
"What? No, I'm not," he continued, tinges of pink coloring his cheeks.
"Aww, come on," you cooed, "you know what this means."
You started lightly poking his stomach, with Stan giggling and squirming all over the bed. Eventually, your fingers moved all the way up to his armpits, where the giggling turned into straight up laughter.
"HAHAHAHA, STOP IT, Y/N!!" Stan shrieked, struggling to escape from your torturous tickling.
"As much as I'd love to, Stanley," you teased, trying not to laugh, "there's just one more spot that needs it." You moved down to his feet, where his soles and your fingers met.
"NOHOHOHO, NOHAHAHAT MY FEHEHEET!" Stan shrieked once again as your fingers danced all over his soles.
"Aww, look how cute you are," you playfully taunted.
Admittedly, you took pleasure in knowing that his feet were sensitive, so you couldn't help but let out a laugh. You continued your tickling until Stan stopped you, grabbing your arms and throwing you back onto the bed, with him now on top of you.
Oh snap, you thought as both of your arms were bound to the bed by your boyfriend's hands. Now what? You were met with Stan's stern but seductive expression, which turned into a devilish smirk. In turn, he started to get back at you by tickling you, starting with your armpits and stomach.
"No, Stan, wait—HAHAHA, STAHAHAHAHAHAN, STAHAHAHAHAP IT, PLEHEHEHEHEHEASE!!" You squealed as you struggled to be released from his tickling.
"Not a chance, Y/N!" Stan playfully chided as he moved all the way down to your feet, giving them the same treatment.
Despite how torturous this was, your face lit up in pleasure, savoring every bit of the tickling. Eventually, Stan slowed down to the point of stopping, and collapsed on the bed to check on you.
"You okay, Y/N?" He panted, exhausted from what happened.
With no words spoken, you pressed your lips against his, resulting in a passionate kiss once again. Stan followed suit, kissing you back and caressing your body however he liked. Once your kiss was over, you rested against his chest, with his arm wrapped around your waist.
"That... was a lot of fun, to be honest," you said, your voice hoarse from the laughter.
"Mind if we do this more often?" Stan asked.
"I'd love that very much," you nodded.
Soon, your fingers spidered across his chest, with Stan's following along to yours, and you both let out a laugh simultaneously as a result.

so we know that ollie has some latent demon powers that he got from his beloved papá, but what about remy? does he have any secret hidden oni/demon powers that he got from his parents? or is he essentially too far down the line to really have access to them?
OR, would him being about one-quarter orc mean that there's less of the "no powers" gene to get in the way of him being able to do some seriously cool magics?
(also i guess liking demons runs in the family since both ollie and remy are part demon lol)
yeeeah i think he's too far down in the gene pool to have any Super Evil Powers That Make You Cool, Sexy, And Mysterious which is just another insecurity for him since even Abby seems to have cool powers 😞 even his horns are kinda fleeting and down to the nerve that feels like tooth nerve pain if messed with too much so he really doesn't have much going for him :')
