I asked the ChatGPT to write a political manifesto for the UK's political parties
(Image by Maximalfocus via UnSplash) Artificial Intelligence has no morals, no thoughts of its own, no beliefs of its own. So I asked ChatGPT to write a 200-word political manifesto for each of the UK’s four main Parties… and another. The AI does not itself ‘believe’ any of what follows; it is just spouting out the emotionless words expected of it… It will be interesting to see what the ‘real’…

Some years ago a lady brought to the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh a trout covered with a fine coat of white fur. It was pleasingly mounted on a wooden shield and was labelled as follows:
FUR BEARING TROUT Very Rare Caught while trolling in Lake Superior off Gros Cap, Near Sault Ste. Marie, district of Algoma. It is believed that the great depth and the extreme penetrating coldness of the water in which these fish live has caused them to grow their dense coat of (usually) white fur. Mounted by ROSS C. JOBE, Taxidermist of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Visiting the museum to find out more about her unique fish, the lady was told that it was undoubtedly a trout (either brown or brook) and that its fine white coat was undoubtedly from a rabbit, whereupon she immediately presented the fish to the museum. She had bought this fake in good faith which indicates that the idea of a fur-bearing trout did not seem outlandish to her.

Love how transphobes and anti-indpendence people are trying to make us seem like some evil nationalists that only want independence because we're xenophobic or something
As if England isn't one of the most nationalist, xenophobic and racist countries in the world. As if there isn't a lot of fucking xenophobia towards scottish people in England. As if England isn't literally trying to block a law to help trans people
Sorry we don't want you blocking our laws just because you are tories and terfs

Absolutely thrilled that David has finally gone to see Michael in Nye tonight, but potentially controversial opinion: I'm almost hoping we don't get a recreation of the Macbeth photo.
For one thing, I think the NT is too big for it and doesn't have the same atmosphere as the Donmar, so I'm not even sure the photo would be possible from a logistical standpoint. But I'd also rather David just be left alone and get to enjoy the play and Michael. I know we're all hyped up for a potential photo at the end of the night, but I'd rather it be from them and something they've chosen to share more than anything else. Just my opinion, at least...

April 9th is National Unicorn Day.
In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power. Tales of dominance and chivalry associated with the unicorn may be why it was chosen as Scotland’s national animal.
With Scotland being famed for its love for and long history of myths and legends, it is no surprise that a fabled creature such as the unicorn is Scotland’s national animal. Unicorns have been linked to Scotland for centuries. While the animal is mythological, the ideals it represents are what make it a perfect fit as the national animal for Scotland, and because like this proud beast – Scots would fight to remain unconquered.
The unicorn was first used on the Scottish royal coat of arms by William I in the 12th century. In the 15th century, when King James III was in power, gold coins even appeared with the unicorn on them. When Scotland and England unified under the reign of James VI of Scotland in 1603, the Scottish Royal Arms had two unicorns supporting a shield. When James VI became James I of England and Ireland, he replaced the unicorn on the left of the shield with the national animal of England, the lion, to show that the countries were indeed united.
The unicorn representing Scotland in the coat of arms is always depicted bounded by a golden chain, which is often seen passing around its neck and wrapping all around its body. The unicorn was believed to be the strongest of all animals – wild and untamed, and that it could only be humbled by a virgin maiden. It is possible that the entrapment symbolises the power of the Scottish kings – they were strong enough to tame even a unicorn.
You don't have to go far to see evidence of Unicorns in our country, they are on our coat of arms, and adorn many of our Mercat Crosses throughout Scotland, If you want to know more and see examples of this creature head o Perth and visit the new museum where an exhibition is running unti September. https://perthmuseum.co.uk/inside-the-museum/unicorn/
