"Mistakes are the portals of discovery.”

Happy Sunday!
"Mistakes are the portals of discovery. - James Joyce
Let me start my day by reminding us all that life's ups and downs are there to either make us stronger or break us.  It is really up to us to choose which of the two we will choose.
Don't be afraid to make decisions because of past failures; turn them into something positive by using them as a guide.
Don't worry about failures; worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try. --Jack Canfield

Happy Saturday!
As you go throughout the day don't forget to breathe, smell the roses and appreciate the simple things in life.

Mental Health Awareness
Yesterday someone I follow on Twitter shared a heartbreaking post and an important reminder.  A reminder that mental health awareness is very important and a cause that should be important to us all.  This was what he shared: -

In my reply to him, I thanked him for sharing. I made the point that to many people do not understand how those suffering from a mental health issue struggles to cope with their demons on a daily basis.  There is a misconception that mental health issues, let's say depression, is something one can just snap out of.  Nothing is further from the truth, you can't just snap out of a depressive state.
I speak of this issue yet, I still do not fully understand it, what I do understand is that those suffering/dealing with the issue should not be shunned, they should not be treated as though they want to be where they are.
“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the and the blind can see”
"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways."
"A wise therapist taught me that anger is the emotion we snatch up to avoid less comfortable feelings - confusion, fear, sadness."

Confidence
Last year I stepped out of my comfort zone and I have not stopped since I took my first step. I have now written and released my first children’s book and now completing my second. I am super excited about the day I decided to make the shift and then acted on the decision I made then not knowing where the road will lead. I had a goal/vision/idea but once I took the first step by the time I got midway the lane changed or got wider. I did not have all the necessary tools at the time that I would need but I started my journey anyway with the tools I had and since added lots on the way. I reached out to others walking the same path I was taking and some stopped to help me for which I am eternally grateful. As in any case, there were many who did not even look my direction, some looked and continued walking. When this happens, do not give up, give no thought but keep going knowing you will find one who will help you. Keep going. I kept going and today I am holding my very own children’s book written by me; my then goal has materialized because I did not stop even when I hit a high wall and cried. I just kept going a little step at a time. If you are reading this, don’t overthink things, you will never move. Just take the first step and that is to make the decision to make a change. Then take the second step to walk in that direction. Don’t rush it either as the race is not for the swift but for those who will endure until the end; take baby steps and keep your eyes in your lane and your journey. Don’t look at the journey of others and how far ahead of you they appear to be. We all will arrive at the same goal line in our own time and then the next goal begins. Remember too to have fun along the way and give a helping hand to others along the way. It makes the long journey easier. Oh, you will cry sometimes but that’s okay too, it only makes the reward sweeter and better in the hand. Thanks for reading.
