There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

I wouldn't say that you should completely let go of them. If this were a different card I would say "go for it, be persistent!" but that's not the case. With the Two of cups there is a relationship that can be obtained but this is more of a long wait, or at least that's the vibe I'm getting. I feel like it's good to be on friendly terms with them and if your application gets rejected just smile and say "maybe next time" and go on about your business but having a friendly history could give you an edge in the future. So play the long con for now but when it comes to current job situations might be better to look elsewhere.
