Dan is Trigon
So! The Teen Titans had been chasing down a Cult lately, and they had finally managed to track down their main bases location.
Unfortunately, they got there just a bit too late and the Summoning Ritual they had been preforming was finished. The Being they had been calling crawled up and out of the Circle drawn in Blood on the floor.
And Raven felt her heart Stop. Because that Being crawling it's way out of the Summoning Circle looked almost exactly like her Father's True Form. But also different.
Where her Father's hair was a White Flame, this one's hair looked like Freshly Fallen Snow. Instead of her Father's Blood Red Skin, this being had Icy Blue Skin. And most strikingly, In place of her Father's Piercing Red Eyes, this being had Lazarus Green Eyes.
But even with all those changes, she could still the similarities in the Bone Structure, the shape of the Jaw, and most importantly the Untold Power radiating off of them.
Before they could react, the Being turned its attention to the Cultists.
"Who Dares Summon, the Ghost King?"
"We do, Out Lord Pariah Dark! We Beseech Thee, take this unclean world and tear it down! Cleanse the World of its Filth!"
"Oh Goddammit, not again." Said the Being, "Look, Pariah hasn't been in Power for Centuries. I, am Phantom. And I don't do the whole 'Destroy all Worlds' thing, you want your own constellation? I'm your guy. Otherwise? Bite it."
"Bu-But my Lord! We summoned you to-"
"Yeah how about no." Said the unimpressed God, "Here, let me send you guys Home. I'll give you guys some riches or something as compensation, but that's it."
And with that, the God snapped its fingers and the cultists disappeared.
"Now, who are you kids?" He turned to them.
Robin stepped forward, "We are the Teen Titans, and originally we came to stop them from Summoning you. Now, I honestly don't know what to do..."
"Oh, you guys are Heroes! That's interesting, I don't come across worlds with Heroes very often." Said the Ghost King, "The last one was the one with those Revengers or whatever they called themselves. The Spider Totem was fun to talk to, and Thor is always..."
As Phantom mumbled to himself, Raven stepped up. "King Phantom, I have a Question. Why do you resemble the true form or Trigon so closely? As his Daughter, I can recognize your similarities easily, and I was curious."
The King stopped dead.
"...daughter?"
"Oh, yes. Trigon is my father, though obviously I haven't talked to him recently." She explained.
"...that asshole." He said, "How could he not tell me I had a NIECE!?"
Wait what?

Vague ideas for future Twisted Wonderland snippets that I can't articulate just yet, and, knowing my luck with the inspiration Gods, isn't likely to get resolved anytime soon.
Either way, they're being forced out into this thing so I don't fucking forget.
These aren't in any particular order.
The basic flurry of panic and tears Subaru goes through after getting sorted into Pomefiore, branching from this, this also likely needs to include Crowley being informed of the situation. Which mostly consists of "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! I'M ILLITERATE!" and another poor first year diving for cover as they clutch their RSA transfer paperwork like a lifeline.
Grim's reintroduction into NRC and how he becomes the only sentient being allowed under Subaru's comforter in Pomefiore. By admission under duress, Ace still thinks the little demon is out for blood. Possibly a follow up with Diasmonia and Silver playing temporary snuggle buddy while Subaru cuddles with the first year gang.
As above, what changed with Heartslyabul storyline, and why Grim wants Ace to stop coming the fuck over to Pomefiore.
Subaru getting dragged into town so she can get actual clothes that aren't just her school and dorm uniforms by Rook before he bails due to Vice Housewarden duties and dumps her on ADeuce. The trip is ultimately derailed and ends with Subaru pushing TW!Kuzco off of Sage Island's pier and having to book it back to Night Raven before they can be held accountable. Takes place maybe a week and a half before the entire Chapter Three debacle.
Having to go into town, again, post Chapter Three to actually get those clothes before she's forced to attend a public place with Vil. She ends up tagging along with Sebek, Thorne, and Silver as they set about restocking Diasmonia's kitchen utensils, (you know why).
Riddle and Floyd getting caught making out during the immediate wind-down of Chapter Five.
Floyd squeezing Subaru for the first time, and ending up with a head hug for his troubles as Subaru just... quietly collects herself in the aftermath of Chapter One. Ends with Subaru earning a life long menace because she just goes back in for another hug once he lets go, (post chapter one, Subaru's still really fucking jittery but positive affection is positive affection).
Subaru accidentally kidnapping Tsum-Ruggie.
Tsum-Floyd purposely kidnapping Subaru. Featuring Jade as a reluctant recipient to a hug.
The one where it's revealed where the fuck Tsum-Subaru ended up.
The incident that convinced Subaru that all of her upperclassmen needed to collectively get laid. AKA Ghost Marriage. Now with cheek kisses, fifteen year old boys being idiots, and having to pretend to have the hots for your shut-in of an upperclassmen so he doesn't get carted off to the Afterlife, (and a delighted little brother who takes so many pictures and videos).
The thirty minute staring contest that happens during chapter six after Subaru threatens to start waxing lyrical about Idia again. To his parents. Followed shortly by Azul actually waxing lyrical to his parents.
Another less defined idea of Idia subtly trying to get called Shroud-senpai during Star-Sending and Subaru being called an adorable underclassmen by Agatha.
The entire reason Leona is fucking terrified of Ortho in my version of events. Featuring a gleeful Rista Caspian, a sad Agatha, and a deeply traumatized Alek Carris. Oh, and NRC during the third years first six months or so at the College, (excluding Leona, who... was technically still a third year).
Jamil and Agatha play cards and gossip post chapter-four.
What Sebek thinks constitutes as appropriate Courting Practices. Lilia looks on in amusement, Silver vague pity. Thorne and Malleus, meanwhile, are just fuckong confused.
Agatha and Idia's first week at Night Raven. And how Crowley broke his Left arm that year.
Azul Ashengrotto matchmakes.
Jade Leech being the one that actually gets the couples in question to sleep in the same bed.
The somewhat nonessential silly little cluster of scenes where people mix up Subaru's given and family name.
The rather enthusiastic make-out session between Yuuki Subaru and Agatha Paige once they both learn the other is alive in the aftermath of chapter six. Idia and Ortho are even more traumatized. Azul wins a bet. Agatha considers it premeditated revenge to what is bound to happen in Ignihyde between Azul and Idia once they get back, and Subaru is just a little light headed and happy. Neither consider this a prelude to a relationship of any kind.
A conversation had with Lilia during Subaru's birthday event, featuring a look at what being a teenager feels like at fifteen and what it looks like when your well over two thousand years old.
The wholesome little snippet of Riddle and Subaru being stupidly sibling like during an Unbirthday party.
Cater getting the privilege of a Subaru Sanctioned And Approved scrapbook for his birthday. Complete with lots of selfies.
Subaru bringing Malleus as her plus one to an Unbirthday Party post chapter three. He looms. Riddle is worried, Cater pouts, Trey is tired, Ace questions his life choices, and Deuce...? Deuce makes conversation. Awkward and stilted, but conversation!
Subaru hugging a rightfully confused Thorne, and not letting go for a solid thirty minutes. Featuring a very confused and indigent Sebek.
Leona's increasingly elaborate plots to avoid Subaru post chapter-two, because he's a lot of things, but watching one of his tiny underclassmen looking at him in legitimate abject terror over something isn't something he likes dealing with.
Ruggie and Thorne's late night Cafeteria Raids. Cuter then you'd expect. And sadder.
Rista and Floyd's ongoing rivalry for the most unhinged Octaniville member. Jade wins by a landslide.
Someone finally confides in Subaru that two of the scariest people on campus think she's cute. Subaru, who's seen both of these idiots fail at largely normal human things, thinks they're idiots.
The master chef competition, and how Subaru got banned from it. Featuring a rightfully terrified Crowely and a stab happy Grim.
Winter Break cuddling. With Grim.
Why Subaru let's Grim easy access to knives.
Subaru's completely justified reaction to learning Rook has been taking pictures of her without explicit permission, and has more or less been stalking her after being informed of her situation, and her very violent want to get the fuck away from him afterwards.
Dorm room transfer following Chapter Five, both for ease of access due to a broken ankle, and because the repurposed storage room isn't so much cutting as it is the fact that it's directly across from Rook's personal room. Sleepover with Epel.
Why you don't fuck with Pomefiore First Years. They will stab you with the nearest available object, and the staff either won't believe you, or they themselves were once Pomefiore First Years and know you provoked it.
Some idiot decides to finally comment on the casual dates Subaru has with some of her social circle. Rook may or may not be responsible for stringing them up in front of their dormitory with a length of rope.
The fall-out of the association with Vil's fanclub, and Epel and Subaru's collective investment in a metal baseball bat as a precaution.
Time Travel shenanigans featuring Subaru and the Obey Me! cast.
How Subaru ended up in Twisted Wonderland.
Future snippet of the fifth year graduation for most of the third years.
That one Age-Swap AU where Epel and Subaru are still as feral as they are as first years as they are Housewardens.
The rather sad expectation of Subaru waking back up in that antiques shop with nothing to show for it except what feels like a very realistic dream. Meets the Shop-Keep a very... familiar face.
Sebek finally hikes up his metaphorical skirt and asks a pretty girl out. Thorne just thinks he's adorable. They get a date snippet post chapter seven.
Blanc March, ex-Housewarden, expresses a desire to pinch Riddle's cheeks. Riddle collars him.
Tsum-Sebek and aggressive snuggles.
A bunch of post chapter seven stuff that's on the back burner until the release.
Malleus and Subaru have a long talk about what they think about each other.
Vil gets tackled during Chapter Six. By Epel.
Agatha's Union Birthday.
Valentine's Day, NRC Remix. AKA Subaru stares way too long at at certain people and nearly has a breakdown over arrangements. Agatha is told she's appreciated. And Thorne beats Lilia out of the kitchen with a wooden spoon. Oh, and Ruth nearly gets thrown out a window.
Pillowtalk, discussions of romance, Ace has a Sexuality Crisis, and gender-switch potions.
Neige asks Subaru out post chapter six. Agatha has an entire laughing fit over it while offering no help to a near hysteric Vil. Followed shortly by 'Why couldn't you ask her out?' which is answered by the subsequent 'I like having an intact spine'.
Thorne and Silver talk about loneliness, Sebek and Thorne talk about fear, Malleus and Thorne have what might qualify as 'Girl Talk'. Lilia has a moment of pride.
The death of Thorne's crush on Lilia, and Silver's unfortunate need to lay out the facts.
Cater tutors an underclassmen through becoming Tech Literate, and gets an unfortunate crush.

Thinking about a maybe 4+1 of Dream appearing in the background or participating in Hob's pandemic history Zoom lectures but in different forms....
1. As a Raven
2. As a Cat
3. Technically as himself but encased in shadows at the very periphery of the screen so the kids think its a ghost and that Professor's apartment is haunted
4. As himself walking partially naked in the background
And bonus 5;
They get engaged and live together, and Dream appears to give Hob coffee in the middle of class and finally answer some questions

Fucking aroacephobics and people who failed their english classes pitting bad bitches (Good Omens and OFMD) against each other. Yall realize how you sound, right? Yall realise the differences of target audiences and plot and stakes that lies in the difference between these two shows? Neither of them are "more queer" than the other. When you say "Ah, a real queer romance!" What you mean is "Finally! A relatable cis GAY romance!" Literally fuck OFF, Gneilman and Late Sir Pterry didnt put their whole pussy tackling a love story between a genderfluid demon and a nonbinary angel overcoming religious trauma, homophobia and social conditioning just for yall to throw them under the bus when two male characters on screen have sex. Theyre equals. Aziraphale and Stede are enjoying tea together in their fancy get-dos and giggling about Oscar Wilde while Ed and Crowley are glowering at each other over their shoulders in a silent intimidation battle.

"My dearest Gadling," Dream murmurs, delicate as crooked spiderwebs. The finger touched upon his chin tilts it upwards, and Hob catches the glimpse of Divine. "Would you kill for me?"
Hob laughs.
"I do," he assures, for he has long been bandit and knight and soldier. "I have. I will."
"And to live? Would you live for me?"
"I do," he answers truthfully still, for he cherishes life as storyteller and scholar, his thirst for life instiable. "I have. I will."
"Would you live with me?"
"I will." Hob answers with final fervency, and plants a kiss that spilIs with wine heady devotion upon the unblemished skin of the palm against his face. "My King, my God, my Lover, my Friend. I will, I will."

My #1 post of 2022
Ive mentioned this on twitter but i feel the absolute need to reiterate how absolutely FUCKED the circumstances of Hob's immortality actually is.
It isnt a REWARD or PUNISHMENT for something he'd done. At no point was Hob ACTIVELY consulted about it. He was DRUNK, freshly returned from fighting a war for a king that let half his village (and likely his entire family) die from the Black Plague. Hob's immortality was the result of a wager between two entities of higher power than most Gods, he was the pawn of a GAME. Sure, Death had ulterior motives (wanting to give Dream a friend and for him to get out of the house.) But as far as Dream was aware this entire debacle was to see how long this measly peasant of a human could stand being alive before it drives him insane. In fact, the Centennial dates were so he could periodically check and WATCH.
Effectively, it was like if two people picked up some random grasshopper and dropped him into a mug of wine, watching to see how long he would stay alive with no lifeline. Humans arent DESIGNED to live that long.
AND YET. HOB DID.
For the most BATSHIT reason of....wanting to experience the mundanity and unfiltered joy of simple living. Do you understand how INSANE that is? And Dreamling as a concept is...my friend had explained it as; imagine defying God's will SO HARD HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH YOU. Imagine being SO UNHINGED in hope and optimism of Earthly Experiences an entity powerful than most Gods that HATE humans FALLS IN LOVE WITH YOU.
Like, FUCK. This ship drives me crazy. There is simply nobody out there like Robert "Hob" Gadling and there will be no other.

Do you have any good not fluffy/too fluffy Jason fic recs? He is my special interest and I like when he’s badass
luckily for you I read an exceptionally large number of Jason-focus fics for someone who probably talks about him the least of all the core Batfamily members. Here's a couple that I really like:
All the Roofs of Uncertainty, by Kieron_ODuibhir: For all the blood on his hands, Red Hood was never just a villain. And Nightwing never gives up on family, not for good. Or: The one where Dick bleeds a lot and Jason argues with everybody.
dead man's party, by TheResurrectionist: The “seeing ghosts” thing didn’t really bother him. Jason could do without the constant mother-henning from one in particular, though. [Or: Martha Wayne spends her afterlife making fun of and mothering Jason]
Deluge in the Wasteland, by Silver Spider: Maybe she'd been wrong. Maybe she was hiding from the wrong person. It couldn't hurt just to see him one more time before... Bruce/Talia. Post-'Son of the Demon' AU. [technically a Talia-centric fic, but Jason co-stars quite heavily]
It's a Hard-Knock Life (Except When There's Cookies), by Hinn_Raven: Jason Peter Todd would like it to be known that he did not adopt an orphanage. If anything, the little brats adopted him.
second impressions, by Valkirin: Red Hood doesn't know that Stephanie Brown is the new Robin. Tim Drake doesn't know anything about Red Hood or why he wants to fight Robin. All Tim knows is that a man in a red helmet just broke into his house. Jason needs to figure out what's going on, Tim needs a dad, and Stephanie needs to figure out just how long she's going to last as Robin.
Strays, by Cdelphiki: Three short months ago, Bruce brought Jason home after finding him starving, alone in an alley. Now he was doing quite well in his studies and training, but it broke Bruce's heart how much Jason seemed to expect the other shoe to drop any day. He'd never had a reason to trust the adults in his life before, so of course he was having difficulty coming to trust Bruce and Alfred.
So when Bruce came across a skittish little puppy while out on patrol, he started to wonder if adopting a puppy would help Jason out, help with his anxieties and give him the unconditional love he deserved, in a form he could tolerate. Maybe through teaching a puppy he was safe, he'd come to realize he was safe as well. It was worth a shot, and Bruce would be a gigantic liar if he said he didn't love their new puppy, too.
The 70 Days After Groundhog Day, by Ptelea: There's a time loop that only Jason remembers. It acts as a catalyst for changes within the family. Some arguments, some misunderstandings, some bonding, some healing, and quite a lot of conversations that mostly take place over food. Dick POV, focused on Dick and Jason but with the other Bats around and very present.
The Changeling, by Silver Spider: Jason is awake and aware but half-a-world away from Gotham in enemy hands. He thinks of nothing but escape, but what happens when he meets a certain little boy? Partial AU. Starts at Red Hood: Lost Days #1 then spins in its own direction.
the city carries ruins in its heart, by nex_et_nox: “Do you trust him?” Jim asked. “Yes,” said Batman, unhesitating. He didn’t know if he would ever like Red Hood. He didn’t know if he would ever be able to like working with him. He wanted to arrest the man. But if Batman trusted him, that would have to be enough for Jim.
Jim Gordon's evolving perspective on Red Hood.
Verdant, by Cerusee: Talia puts Jason in the Lazarus pit to restore his mind. Then she takes him home.
Bonus Young Justice-verse fics:
Come Alive, by CaptainOzone: Dick went to Infinity Island on a mission to rescue three. He never expected to return with an additional two. None of them did. AU of 3x06.
Resurgence, by Hinn-Raven: Healing is a slow process. Too bad the universe seems to have forgotten that. Even as the Team and the Justice League try to recover from the death of Wally West, the universe throws another obstacle for them to deal with. Post-Endgame Fix-It. Two-Shot.
Stages of Deterioration, by aradian nights: After Bruce finds Jason Todd, catatonic and traumatized, miraculously alive on the streets of Gotham, Tim, Dick, and Barbara attempt to fix their broken brother. AU.

I realized that it is almost half way through October and I haven't read many season specific fics. Horror, fluff, angst, whatever as long as it is in the spirit of October, please. I love you guys, thank you!
Hi @yukinon-writes
Happy Halloween!  Thank you for the ask, we definitely have a list for you!

Little Haunted Maze of Horrors by @splendentgoddess (T)
Kagome's school is doing a haunted maze for Halloween, and working the maze is a chance for extra credit that, with her grades, she can't afford to miss. But what happens when Inuyasha's curiosity gets the better of him? Curiosity killed the *cat*.
Tommyknockers Tommyknockers Knocking at my Door by @splendentgoddess(T)
The Inu-tachi come upon a friendly village to stop at for the night, though it quickly turns out that everyone is a bit *too* friendly. When Inuyasha goes missing and Sango and Miroku want to settle down, Kagome wonders if everyone is crazy but her.
Every Day is Halloween by @splendentgoddess (M)
As a kid I believed in ghosts, but adults usually stop believing in such things. I thought *I* had, until one Halloween when Eri talked me into some 'harmless fun' that changed my life forever. My name is Kagome Higurashi, and this is my ghost story.
Onigumo House by @splendentgoddess (M)
“Are you interested in a once in a lifetime experience that's to die for?” Kagome read with some dramatic flair that had Souta laughing. “If you think you have what it takes to survive what goes bump in the night then come for a stay at Onigumo House.”
The Raven by @splendentgoddess (T)
Just a cute little Halloween poem-fic. Kagome recites "The Raven"…with a few minor interruptions. Rated T for Inuyasha's potty mouth. Inu/Kag WAFF
Hallow (Series) by @splendentgoddess (E)
When Kagome's school friends invite her and her 'jealous boyfriend' to a Halloween party she decides she actually wants to go, and convinces Inuyasha to go with her. It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Complete! Part one of my 'Hallow' trilogy.
Drowning in the Night by @witchygirl99 (M)
"You're a vampire." There, she had said it. "And you just made yourself bleed in front of one," Inuyasha snapped. He glared at her bleeding arm like it was personally offending him.
Nepenthe by @witchygirl99 (M)
Legends are more than just stories men tell at night. Kagome is proof of this. Inuyasha is, too. An InuKag Mermaid/Siren AU.
Winging it by @witchygirl99 (M)
Inuyasha was the first soul in history to break Heaven. So he goes to Hell. He meets a gum-smacking fortune teller, two psychotic real estate agents and...The One. Insert smirking and the odd death. Add some love. Blend until smooth. Serve hot.
Imaginary by @witchygirl99 (M)
I'm not crazy,' she told herself. So what if she found the dead bodies? So what if she could hear voices? It meant nothing. She wasn't a fatalist, but then she met him...
Venom by hanoyokai (M)
It surrounded everything. It ate up everything in its path. It did not give us any mercy as it destroyed us. This is not related to Marvel Comics "Venom" in any way.
Venom by @len-barboza (M)
Original story by Hanyoyokai Art & diagramation by Len
Demonic Reality by Inuyashasgrl26 (K+)
Kagome returns home to help celebrate Halloween with her family and at her junior high event. Little did she know Inuyasha has find something intriguing about all of this.
Skinwalkers by @clearwillow (E)
Every culture has it's own lore about those that walk the earth with different faces. Some call them witches, some call them shifters, but at the heart of each tale there is a common link: it is a monster. When the night goes dark and still, how can you be certain that there is only one of you?
A Walk Through Hell by Kingbaka (E)
Inuyasha and Kagome walk through hell. While this is technically a figure of speech, it is doubtful that our heroes would appreciate the difference. Will they be able to escape their torments? And if so, will they emerge from their trials unscathed, or will the burden of their actions prove too much to bear?
Trick or Treat by My-crazy-awesome-socks (T)
An InuKag Halloween oneshot. Kagome's friends dress her up as a rather sexy looking vampire and dare her to act like she's dressed for the whole night. What happens when InuYasha is waiting for her when she gets home and the night's not done?
Things That Go Bump in the Night by RoseDragonWitch (T)
Inuyasha met her at Halloween party… and for months… he watched over her, stalked her. Yes, he was a vampire… but even after becoming hopelessly addicted to Kagome's rare blood type...he was no longer just after her blood… he wanted her heart.
Awakened Dead by K. Higurashi (T)
Too curious for her own good, Kagome unseals a powerful and hot headed poltergeist from an old katana on the night of Halloween. He's rude, he's crude and possibly the sexiest boy she's ever met. Too bad for the dead part.
Scare Me Once Shame on Me by vixenserael21 (M)
InuYasha and Kagome are college students enjoying a Halloween party, but thanks to some sneaky friends, it will not be the kind of party Kagome expects. What happens if she gets scared? Rated for lemony goodness! Inu x Kag, San x Miro
Halloween (Series) by @lavendertwilight89 (E)
AU--Demons exist in secret in the modern era. Inuyasha realizes his mate is human and think he'll never have a shot...or will he?
Stay Close To Me by Emmyyasha (T)
Autumn has come, the leaves have changed, and everyone wants to partake in the joys of the fall festival. Corn mazes, pumpkin patches, warm apple cider. They are perfect to get in the Halloween mood while snuggling up to your loved one. But when Kagome decides to face her fears and enter the haunted house, a day of fun turns into the stuff of nightmares. Good thing Inuyasha, her best friend who is also secretly in love with Kagome, is there to protect her.
Lake of Drowned Souls by @fawn-eyed-girl (E)
Yash and Kagome's car breaks down on the way to a kendo tournament; Kikyo and Suikotsu pick them up, and the four of them spend the night at a hotel at Lake Suwa. But Kagome sees some mysterious figures coming from the lake; what do they want, and more specifically, why does Kagome think they are after her?
Portal Between Worlds by @neutronstarchild (E)
Ten years ago, a portal transported Inuyasha from the demon realm to the human realm. Now a half-demon alone in a world he doesn't understand, he will do anything to get home. When Onigumo brings him a book with all the answers, Inuyasha pushes aside his misgivings and works with the man. He just wants to get home, after all.
Kagome just wants to make an extra buck (and find demons), much to Kikyo’s chagrin. That is why she published Demons Among Us! after all. But strange things start happening when she puts the book online. As if people are using it to open the portals that it hypothesized… When Kagura and Sango join the fray, the stakes grow higher as they try to find the source of the portals. When Inuyasha encounters Kagome, fate is not what it seems.
Not one, but two realms are in danger for their survival. What happens when the final portal opens and an unknowable terror is unleashed? Can the Demon Hunters save the world?
The Red Room by @lord-rika (T)
Kagome comes home from school one day and finds out Mama finally bought the family a computer to use. As Kagome learns how exciting it is to have access to the internet, she also learns how dangerous it can be. How will she face this new threat? One-shot written for Halloween!
Spooktober 2019 by @keichanz (M)
A drabble collection inspired from Halloween prompts that center around Inuyasha, Kagome, and their two children.
Another Day in Hell by @keichanz (M)
The undead and monsters both of the bestial and human variety wander the streets looking for their next kill. To trust blindly could very well mean your death so it’s easier to not trust anybody at all even when they claim all they want to do is help. The smartest thing to do was to look out for number one, question everything, and always, always watch your back. Evil lurked around every corner, hid in every brush, and nowhere was safe anymore.
Starting Fires by @lemonlushff (E)
He always hated couples' costumes...But maybe dressing up as a fireman won't be so bad. Not when Kagome as a little surprise up her sleeve. Part of the One Last Ride universe. Brace yourself for all the debauchery.
It Will Come Back by @thornedraven (E)
"She went to bed, unaware of her missing cloak. Ignorant, of the clawed hand that had picked it up from its fall off the path. “You know better, darlin’.” A fanged grin flashed in the night. "
A one shot inspired by Hozier's song "It Will Come Back". Slight Little Red Riding Hood inspiration as well. Darker themed Little Red Riding Hood, and much more adult themed. My first AU for Inuyasha!
The Ghost of Higurashi Shrine by @elkonigin (M)
After helping her grandfather on a regular, run-of-the-mill-excorcism-turned-blessing (it's better if you just don't ask questions, well maybe you should, Kagome didn't and look at where it's gotten her so far), Kagome finds that things, well, weird things, are happening in her home and around the shrine, in addition to some other places that really just don't make sense. Kagome doesn't consider herself brilliant by any means, she's barely passing as it is, but she's pretty sure that this mess isn't normal.
Shot Week III: Spooky Time by MondayChild (E)
In the Halloween edition of Shot Week, we have: a lover tired of being betrayed, a jealous husband, the love life of a village miko, a beautiful dreamer, a divine romance, a camping trip gone wrong, and a high school crush that gets out of hand.
The Halloween Party by Cyrus559 (M)
It is Halloween and Kagome is having a break from shard hunting in order to have a good time with her friends in the modern era. But a seemingly innocent Halloween party at an old hotel which is about to close down, turns into something far more sinister than the people there expects. The rating changes to M in the last chapter.

Winter Passing | Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Summary: After car accident leaves him at the base of a mountain with no sign of civilization for miles, a breakup is the least of Henry’s problems. Just as death’s icy fingers begin to coil around him, salvation presents itself in the form of an old cabin in a clearing. Despite years of being told fairy tales and ghost stories that warn against such things, he uses his last of his strength to reach the cottage. When he wakes, he finds not a demon, but an angel, long removed from the insanity of the modern world. Pairing: AU!Henry Cavill x OFC Word Count: 2K Warnings: Smutty goodness, but not like you think. A/N : Bet you can’t guess the song being sung in this chapter!

Tiago had never been the most graceful of birds. A parrot by technicality of his species alone, the fact that he could fly at all was something of an affront to nature. With cartoonish eyes that got comically wide whenever he was indignant (which was often), and a plump, squat body that was too heavy to be aerodynamic in any way, he defied all odds as he tumbled through the wind currents, simply happy to be away from his home and made truly useful yet again.
“But have you heard the story of the rabbit in the moon? Or the cow that hopped the planets while straddling a spoon or she, who leapt up mountains, while whistling up a tune and swapped her songs with swallows while riding on a broom?” He sang to himself as he played in the trade winds, looping and curling and sometimes falling a little too close to the water for his own liking.
When he reached Cuba, Tiago allowed himself to be ping-ponged violently from the Trades into the Westerlies, shivering as the colder currents tossed him up the Atlantic coast towards the woman who lived in the clearing at the bottom of the mountain.
“‘Take the message to the woman with the sad eyes,’ they said. ‘It’ll be fun,’ they said.” He mocked his keepers in his usual aristocratic squawk. As he spoke, Tiago’s head plunged into the frigid water that hemmed New Jersey, a screech replacing his dignified words as he shook the quickly-forming icicles off his neon green feathers.
“THEY NEVER SAID I WAS FLYING INTO THE WITCH’S TIT ON THE SHADY SIDE OF THE ICEBERG!” He hollered, flapping his short wings frantically to try and get over the worst of the air stream, hoping that hot air truly did rise and that he could gain some of that warm balmy feeling once more before having to plummet back down to earth.
Though it was only mildly warmer above the current, Tiago found himself worn out from his exertions, only managing to float above the cold air for half of New York before plunging back down and riding the frozen spiral of wind towards his destination.
“‘Where the earth meets the water, that’s where you shall find her. Where once was blood now only tears. Behind the White Mountain, reside your peers.’” Tiago recited, his keen yellow eyes quickly finding the spot, wings tucking in close to his body as he went into a free fall towards the small cottage.
The sound of his body cutting clumsily through the air caught Dyster’s attention, and despite enjoying a leisurely snack of leftover rabbit innards, his sleek black wings lifted him up like a bullet piercing the air. The two birds collided mid-flight, squawks and screeches like sirens in the otherwise-silent clearing.
“UNHAND ME, YOU SAVAGE! I COME ON THE ORDER OF THEOFINA!”
“Theo-who? Get off my land, you overgrown avocado!”
“Avo-Avocado! How dare you! Where is your mis--LET GO!--mistress?!?”
Spinning mid-air in a ball of green and black feathers, the two birds made such a ruckus that it woke Gunnar out of a dead sleep. Looking out the back door, he began to bark, knowing Olivia would want to see what was happening.
The racket woke both Olivia and Henry, and while the latter quickly rolled over and went back to sleep, Olivia knew Gunnar’s warning bark when she heard it. Putting on a sheer robe, she flew down the stairs, sliding to a stop next to the husky and following his gaze out to the stone circle.
“What in the…” she mused, Olivia slipping into her boots and stepping outside without a thought for the cold.
“Dyster! What are you doing? Let go of it!”
Hearing his mistress’ voice, Dyster unceremoniously dropped Tiago right into Gunnar’s open mouth, the husky holding the parrot gently in his maw.
“Oh, the torment! This is how I perish, at the hands of brutes! Mercy, mistress, I beg of you!” Tiago lamented dramatically, Gunnar rolling his eyes and giving Tiago a test squeeze before letting him fall to the snow with a wet plop. Olivia bent down and quickly picked up the parrot, brushing the snow off him and checking to make sure neither raven nor husky did any permanent damage.
“Thank you, fair maiden. I come on command of Theofina of the Order Athanato Fengari-” “Order of the Immortal Moon, I know. What does she want?” Olivia rolled her eyes at Tiago’s pageantry, already knowing her answer to whatever command Theofina had for her.
“My mistress requests your presence at the Order’s Imbolc festivities. Says she has important business to discuss with you regarding the past and your future.”
Olivia took in the words, remembering what the tea leaves had shown earlier; Good direction, a warning, travel, and the masculine. It was more than coincidence that an invitation to Rome should come not even a full day after the leaves had signaled travel. Already, they’d been right about the masculine and with a quick look over her shoulder at Henry’s window, Olivia was more and more certain that the leaves were, yet again, correct in their prophecy.
Tiago eyed Olivia warily as he waited for her answer, keen to get back to warmer skies and even warmer land.
“Don’t rush her, you useless sack of cabbage. She’ll answer when she’s good and ready.” Dyster cut in before the parrot could speak, landing gracefully on Olivia’s arm before pecking at Tiago as though testing his doneness.
“Dyster, be good. He’s an emissary, not dinner.”
“Shame. He’d make for good barbecue,” Gunnar replied before Dyster could, licking his chops as he growled quietly at Tiago, both he and Dyster ready to end the intruder should he step out of line.
“No one’s getting eaten!” Olivia said, her voice a little louder than she intended. With an exasperated sigh, she looked down at Tiago. “Tell your mistress she’ll have an answer after the new year.”
“But, she’ll make me-”
“New Year, Tiago. No discussion.” She cut him off, reading his name on the tag around his neck, one Tiago clearly forgot he had on by the look of shock on his face.
“So it’s true! Once again my mistress proves her superiority in all things, including secret knowledge. I shall fly home at once and pass along your remarks! Good day, my lady of sadness.”
The trio watched as Tiago took flight, their heads all crooked to the right as they each tried to figure out how such a hefty creature could defy gravity.
“It’s a spell, right?” Gunnar asked, eyes unmoving as they watched Tiago fumble his way higher and higher.
“Gotta be.” Dystra answered, fighting the urge to fly up after Tiago for just a little more fun.
“Who knows. Pompous little creature...” Olivia shook her head, turning to go back inside once Tiago was out of sight.
“Offensive too. Should’ve let me eat him....” Gunnar added, following her in as Dyster flew back to his perch.
Not looking up until she was well inside the house, Olivia shrieked, shut her eyes, and covered herself as much as she could when she came face-to-face with an equally nude Henry.
“WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!?” She cried out, trying to find her way around her guest, but managing only to hit her hip on the kitchen counter, the collision strong enough to shoot pain right down her leg like a flash.
“I WAS GONNA TAKE A BATH! I THOUGHT YOU WERE OUT DOING STUFF ALREADY! WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!?”
“IT’S MY HOUSE AND I SLEEP HOW I WANT, HENRY!!” She yelled, the pain amplifying her frustration with a morning that had already gone sideways.
Cracking open one eye, Olivia placed her free hand at the right level to cover Henry’s crown jewels, her eyebrows knitting together in annoyance.
“I’m going upstairs. Don’t look.” She muttered, her frown growing deeper as her words earned her a chuckle from Henry, his tone deep and warm.
“Too late for that, love.” He answered, the smile in his voice matching his humor.
To her chagrin, Henry’s laugh, coupled with his words, made her feel things she’d not felt in some time, and it only made getting upstairs all the more imperative. Scurrying past, she did her best to keep her eyes on something other than his nude form, but as she began to climb, it was impossible to miss the view of his pert backside. Olivia knew what she had to do, but doing it with full knowledge of what Henry would be doing downstairs--and of how quiet everything would be in the house as a whole--made the prospect seem nearly impossible.
Still, Olivia was certain there’d be no other way to turn the morning around, and so once in the solace of her room, with no animals or naked houseguests around, she let her robe slip off her body and climbed into bed. Slipping open the top drawer of her night stand, she pulled out what she needed, and doing her best to relax, tried to let the confusion of the morning slip away in favor of letting her imagination run wild.
Downstairs, Henry had managed to fill the tub, testing the water to make sure he wouldn’t scald himself. The last thing he needed was to be even more invalid than he already was. Lowering himself into the water, he closed his eyes as the warmth enveloped him, his own mind working overtime not only because of his morning encounter with Olivia, but because of the dream he simply couldn’t shake. Weirdly erotic, the dream came back in bits and pieces; Olivia standing nude outside, Gunnar at her feet, the dog protecting her from something Henry couldn’t quite see. More than anything, he remembered that he too was nude and holding himself in his hand for some reason. The more he thought about it, the more his body took over. Before he knew it, Henry was stroking himself slowly under the water, his cock already half-hard given the time of day and the addition of the dream.
His body relaxing, Henry was just starting to get into a rhythm, when the soft sounds of Olivia moaning cut through the silence. Smiling to himself, he closed his eyes and focused on the melodic expression of pleasure, letting his imagination play out a fantasy that had been brewing since she’d first gotten him into the tub and handed him the too-small towel.
It was easy to picture making love to Olivia in the tub, water flooding the floor as he gave her as much pleasure as she could handle, his own intensified by the movement of her body against his. His hand tightened around his length as he stroked, imagining Olivia’s petite frame moving with fluidity and grace, her breasts a perfect fit for his hands as she took him in hard and deep, gasping as he filled and stretched her.
In her bed, Olivia’s own fantasy played out somewhat differently. As she slipped the ornate glass dildo in and out of her soaked entrance, she pictured Henry flattening her to the mattress, his front pressing into her back as he rutted into her like a stallion mounting a mare in estrus. Legs splaying wide of their own accord, Olivia could almost feel the press of his warm lips to her face and neck, the pressure building inside her with each stroke of Henry’s proxy. In her mind, he was as wonderful in bed as he was a houseguest; tender yet lively, and knowing exactly how to make her smile even as he made her scream.
Panting, Olivia pushed the toy in and out at a faster clip, her juices darkening the sheets beneath her as the thought of Henry taking her worked her into a frenzied state of arousal the likes of which no other man--real or imagined--had ever managed before.
Whimpering keenly as she felt the heat bloom inside her, Olivia knew one orgasm simply wouldn’t cut it. Her thighs trembled as she thought about the press of his weight on top of her, the heat of his body setting her own alight. Most of all, she thought about willingly suffering in order to have his full length inside her, remembering clearly how big he was, even soft. Aroused by the notion that she’d have to work through discomfort to get all of him in, she found herself gasping and rolling onto her hands and knees, the dildo plunging in and out of her at even greater speeds as her wetness slipped lewdly down her inner thighs.
Henry did his best to keep the water from splashing as he matched his strokes to Olivia’s moans and whimpers, his mind turning to what she might be doing to herself upstairs. Having caught an eye-full when she’d come inside, Henry had no problems picturing her bare, pink pussy as she pleasured herself. His cock jerked in his hand as he thought about her hips squirming and jolting up as she toyed with her clit or slipped her fingers inside herself. Nipples hard and chest heaving, she looked radiant in his mind, a goddess worthy of worship, one who he’d gladly drown between the thighs of. Biting the inside of his cheek, Henry managed to stay silent as he came, his hand never stopping its motion as he shot his load all over his own chest, every muscle pulled taut.
He couldn’t help his breathless smirk as he heard Olivia reach her own pinnacle, shivering in delight as her sounds made it clear she was going for more.

hi who are most of the people in the relationship charts you posted on insta a while ago?
Like I know you’ve posted some stuff about Nate and Zoe and even Venus but I’m really curious about everyone else!
I wanna preface this by thanking you for your patience since it took me forever to reply to this. I really appreciate it! <3
Anyways, those charts are divided into two parts — the first is Nate’s friend group (which I call the Zodiacs) and the second is the Celestial Council. The Zodiacs are central-focus characters while the Council’s role is more on the back burner.
I’ll talk about the characters individually under the cut, but if you’re not into summaries I’ll include a song that reminds me of each character since I think music is a fantastic personality descriptor:
ZODIACS
NATE SAGITTARIUS:  Nate is an overly ambitious teenage boy who becomes a Regulator at the Venus Villas after discovering that he’s half elf. I’m sure you know the rest of this rant by now.
“Genius Next Door” — Regina Spektor
ZOE SAGITTARIUS:  Nate’s punk-rock older sister, who is much cooler than he’ll ever be. Zoe is a dryad that was adopted by Jupiter Sagittarius shortly after she had woken up in a Bronx alleyway with a bad case of amnesia. Nowadays, she works as a Regulator at the Venus Villas and wields a talking snake shaped dagger named Sabik.
“OHFR?” — Rico Nasty
DANIEL ATKINS: As Head Regulator, Daniel Atkins is known to keep things in line. Daniel is an aloof ghost from the 1910s who hasn't matured much since his death. He’s notoriously bad with social cues and always says whatever he’s thinking, which Nate doesn’t seem to mind. The two of them quickly become best friends, much to Zoe’s dismay.
“Nobody” — Mitski
BRENDA ANTARES: With her competitive nature and innate sparing abilities, Brenda was the obvious choice for Mars’ Lieutenant. When she’s not assisting Mars, Brenda volunteers as a part-time cook at the Venus Villas. Brenda is a sweetheart who befriends anyone she can, which is ironic considering the fact that she shares a body with a temperamental demon named Aries.
“What’s Up Danger” — Blackway & Black Caviar
ANASTASIA CHERNOV: Not much is known about Anastasia’s past and she’d like to keep it that way, thank you very much. Anastasia Chernov is head general of Via’s Army and a recurring antagonist throughout the series. She is a blind vampire who, despite her overall brooding nature, loves cutesy magical girl animes and Vocaloids.
“Oh Ana” — Mother Mother
MAYBELLE SAVURI: Real hot girl shhh! Maybelle Savuri is a top-charting singer and model from the monster world who just so happens to be Venus’ daughter too. She’s a super rich vampire with shapeshifting powers, the cutest outfits, and confidence for days — what else could you possibly want?
“Girls in the Hood” — Megan Thee Stallion
LEO JEMBER: Resident golden boy and honorary funnyman, Leo Jember is one of the first friends Nate makes at the Villas. Leo is a (literal) angel who works the front desk at the Venus Villas, and spends his free time messing with his best friend Scorpius Singh. Leo is extremely popular with the workers at the Villas but he also has the tendency to push Venus’ buttons for fun.
“C7osure.” — Lil Nas X
SCORPIUS SINGH: The only Zodiac more secretive than Anastasia is Scorpius. Scorpius Singh is a witch cursed to kill everything he touches. Nowadays, his hands are constantly bandaged and he tends to keep his distance from other people. Around the Villas, Scorpius is known for his intellect and snippy attitude.
“Goodbye Mr A” — The Hoosiers
POLLY DE DIOS: Just like her father, Polly de Dios is a skilled inventor who helps with repairs around the Villas. Polly and her twin brother, Cas, are a pair of hyper-intelligent androids built by Mercury de Dios. Unlike her lax brother, Polly is a rule-abiding teenager with a love for list making and hard work.
“B.I.T.C.H” — Megan Thee Stallion
ALEX MILTON: Come through, daddy issues! Alex Milton is a blunt satyr who spends his free time committing petty crime. His tendency to use his powers in the mortal world often winds Alex in trouble with the Venus Villas. Despite his unpleasant nature, Alex is both humorous and intelligent… maybe that’s the reason Nate had a slight crush on him when they first met.
“Rich & Sad” — Post Malone
DAX LEE: Dax is good friends with Leo and Scorpius which, by default, makes him Nate’s friend as well. Dax Lee is a deaf merman who has the power to mind control other people whenever he sings. And while Dax may not be the smartest member of the Zodiacs, he certainly is the friendliest!
“This December” — Rick Montgomery
JEONG NA-RI: As a powerful psychic, Jeong Na-Ri is a force to be reckoned with. But after Nate accidentally frees her from a hundred-year imprisonment, Na-Ri quickly learns that the world she came back to is extremely different from the one that she left behind. Not only that but, with her immortal dad still around, Na-Ri now has a new step-mom and an older brother named Dax.
“Cartoons” — Louie Zong
CELESTIALS
**SOL JEMAL: As head of the Celestial Council, Sol plays a particularly important role in the monster world. Sol Jemal is an angel that has been around since the beginning of time so she’s pretty much seen it all by now. Her distant nature has caused an aura of mystery to form around her, but her sons Deneb and Leo reason that she’s not as omnipotent as she seems and, if anything, she’s just a bit uptight.
“YAH.” — Kendrick Lamar
MOON ATKINS: It doesn’t matter that they’re twins, Moon would like to make it perfectly clear that he is Sol’ older brother. (By five whole minutes!) While Sol is known for being the bringer of life, Moon Atkins was assigned the role of ruling over the dead. Because of this, Moon’s presence is seen as a bad omen in the monster world. However, Moon is quite the gentleman with an extreme interest in birds, particularly ravens.
“Lethargy″ — Bastille
MERCURY DE DIOS: The rest of the Council has the tendency to look over Mercury’s existence. Mercury de Dios is a gnome with a knack for inventing. He’s a genius when it comes to innovation, but has trouble when it comes to socializing with other people, so he avoids it completely by shutting himself in his workshop all day. When he’s not inventing, Mercury is either spending time with his children or trailing behind Venus and Mars around the Villas.
“Touch-Tone Telephone” — Lemon Demon
VENUS GALILEI: As both his boss and godmother, Venus spends a lot of time with Nate. Which is unfortunate for him, because while many other adults in the monster world think Nate is old enough to fight against Via’s Army, Venus adamantly believes that he is too young to get involved. Still, despite their many disagreements, the two care very deeply for each other.
“Glamorous”  — Fergie
TERRA GALILEI: Nate’s not the only one with an adopted dryad sister. Terra Galilei is Venus’ younger sister who is head of human relations — meaning that she keeps in touch with the very few humans who know of the monster world. Unlike her sister, Terra is a loud party animal with a love for sports.
“Lightning” — Rico Nasty
MARS HUYGENS:  Oh boy. Where to begin with Mars? Mars Huygens is a cyclops widely known in the monster world for his loudmouth and love of violence. He is one of the three Celestials who work at the Venus Villas — the other two being his spouses Venus and Mercury — much to the Regulators’ dismay. Despite his reputation, Mars gets along swimmingly with Brenda and, despite how often he teases the kid, has a bit of a soft spot for Nate as well.
“PRIDE.” — Kendrick Lamar
JUPITER SAGITTARIUS: Everyone in the monster world knows Jupiter as the elf who had a child with a human. Jupiter Sagittarius is Nate and Zoe’s music loving father who never really grew up. Jupiter supports his children in their endeavors, however he’s not quite qualified for his own responsibilities. Despite his scatter-mindedness, Jupiter puts a genuine effort into everything he does which, at the very least, is why his peers tend to like him so much.
“8TEEN” — Khalid
SATURN HAMILTON: With the exception of Mercury and Moon, no one in the Celestial Council really likes Saturn all that much. Saturn Hamilton is a workaholic satyr who is obsessed with the human world and its history. More often than not, Saturn finds himself butting heads with his eldest son, Alex, despite Saturn’s attempts to salvage their relationship as of late.
“Cemetery” — COIN
URI HERSCHEL: Uri is a man of few words… mostly because he’s a selective mute. Uri Herschel is an ice giant known for his eccentric nature — whether it be his odd choice of clothes or his peculiar love of taxidermy.
“Anklebiters” — Paramore
LEE NEPTUNE: Guess it’s time to release the kraken. Lee Neptune is a picture perfect beach dweller — a handsome surfer dude who plays the ukulele and has the ability to shapeshift into the legendary kraken. He may not be the smartest member of the Celestial Council, but he certainly is charming.
“Drunk Walk Home” — Mitski
PLUTO TOMBAUGH:  While he’s technically no longer a part of the Council, Pluto will always have an honorary spot in these lists. Pluto Tombaugh is a laid-back and likeable dwarf who is obsessed with the animals that reside in the monster world — which he collects and studies in his downtime.
“Jawbreaker” — Injury Reserve ft. Rico Nasty & Pro Teens
**The surname Jemal is just a placeholder and will most likely change down the line.

CR Inktober, Day 17
CROSSOVER: POKEMON (Because imagining hypothetical teams is fun.)
It was that time of year again, and it felt like the whole of the Tal’Dorei Region was abuzz with excitement as the opening rounds of Tal’Dorei Pokemon League Championship drew near.
There were quite a few challengers turning heads that year—some, like the rival ghost trainers Kvarn and Vecna, had trained solo; others, like the dragon-type specialists of the Chroma Conclave had formed loose alliances to reach this point.
But, far and away, the biggest talking point of the tournament was the band of eight trainers who’d taken up the name Vox Machina (though some people who’d encountered them early in their journey still spoke of the SHITS). Like many, they’d found the journey to this point easier in the company and with the assistance of others, but after all their adventures, challenges, obstacles, and unexpected encounters with more than one evil team, their bonds were stronger than most, more of a unified, cohesive single unit than any other group that had competed in previous years.
The talk around and about them (positive and negative) was partially due to their unusually strong inner-group loyalty, partially their extremely diverse team composition, mainly their more-than-usually dangerous/adventurous path (in and out of region) to that point , and (perhaps because of that) the fact that every one of them had a Legendary Pokemon anchoring their team, in addition to the Pokemon on their team capable of Mega-Evolution (a pre-requisite for tournament entry, at this point).
There’d been some grumbling about how fair that was, requiring League President Uriel Tal’Dorei to step in and make a formal ruling/statement: They had begun their journey at an appropriate point and time, along with everyone else, and if circumstances beyond their control had made their path here more roundabout and hazardous than most, it merely proved their skill, determination, and luck to have made it through. Yes, they had briefly and occasionally traveled to other regions, but only out of sheer necessity, and the bulk of their training had undeniably been done in the Tal’Dorei region. And finally, as a Legendary Pokemon will not condescend to fight for just any trainer, their remarkable achievement (which, he reminded people, was not entirely without precedent) stood as further testament to their ability and right to compete.
(The fact that Uriel himself has been saved from the evil organization Team Treachery by Vox Machina was well-known, and some detractors claimed he was therefore biased. Still, his points stood as sound as his ruling was both final and official.)
Officially entered in the tournament, then, Vox Machina was an undeniably odd assortment of Trainers and Pokemon:
For instance, there was their newest member, Taryon Darrington, who technically hailed from the Wildemount Region, but who’d come to train in Tal’Dorei after an argument with his family, soon falling in with the already-formed Vox Machina. He’d started out with only Rich, his Furfrou, though admittedly his Rotom, Artificer, had been with him nearly as long. No one was really sure how Tary of all people had acquired a Metagross (or even a Beldum), to say nothing of a Megastone for it so early in his journey, but Doty was undeniably devoted to its trainer. After joining Vox Machina, Taryon had added Sanctuary, his Mr. Mime, and Slayer’s Cake the Slirpuff. Finally, after an unexpected trip home to Wildemount, and even more surprising confrontation with his father, Tary had finished out his team with the legendary Keldeo, who he affectionately referred to as the Darrington Brigade, for some reason that made sense only to him.
Or consider Scanlan Shorthalt, the ladies’ man of the group: his Exploud, Bard, was already growing in fame before Kaylie, his Mawile, found him (as frightening as the little Steel/Fairy was, she was downright deadly when Mega-Evolved). He’d apparently split off on his own for a while, returning to rejoin the group with two new members on his team: Meatman the Zoruark, and Prodigal the Leipard. If Scanlan rarely spoke of how he came to train his Espeon, Ioun, he was even more reticent and uncharacteristically comber if questioned about his Jirachi, simply called Wish.
Pike, Scanlan’s long-pursued, long-suffering girlfriend had begun her journey with an odd-couple pair of partners: Trickfoot, her Gengar, and cleric, her Granbull. Her Zebstrika, Guiding Bolt, had an odd habit of circling his opponents to attack their rears, but it was her Mimikyu, Astral Form, that was considered the powerhouse of the four. Still, most attention on her was understandably split between either Monstah, her Mega-evolving Tyranitar, or the Legendary Ho-oh she called Seranrae—though underestimating her or any on her team was a serious mistake.
Pike’s childhood friend, Grog, had an interesting blend on his team: his first partner the aptly-named Machamp, Barbarian, was usually the first in any battle, supported by the exceptionally-dense Slowbro affectionately (and ironically) called Intelligence. Waddling about and finding, storing, then producing the oddest assortment of items was Holding, the Delibird. It was half-joking quipped that no one could tell if it was grog training Craven Kas, the Aegislash, or the other way around, but the synergy he had with his Gallade, Fighter, was blatantly obvious even before Mega-Evolution. And anchoring it all was Titanstone, the Legendary Regirock.
Vax’ildan and Grog may have often teased each other, but Vax’s seemingly-average team was no joke in battle: Assassin, his Houndoom, was both his first partner and the one capable of Mega-Evolving, but Vax poured just as much care and love into training his whole team, even his trusty, if often-overlooked Arbok, Simon. Boots, the hasty Luxray was a speed demon, to be sure, and his Croviknight, Paladin was a much-needed defensive boost for the whole team. His Florges, Snowdrop, seemed almost out-of-place on his team, but some story behind her presence never failed to earn a small, sad smile from her trainer, though he never spoke of it. And watching over them all was the ghostly Legendary, Lunala, who Vax called the Raven Queen in the most reverent of voices.
Often seen hand-in-hand with Vax was Keyleth, who hailed from one of the Ashari Tribes of elemental-focused trainers.  Zephrah, her first partner, was an Altaria capable of Mega-Evolution, and had been, along with her Sawsbuck, Circlet (a gift from her mother), with her along every step of her journey to learn of the other elements though new Pokemon on her team: Terrah the Golurk, Pyrah the Pyroar, and Vesrah, the Gyrados. After a return to her starting point, Keyleth was surprise to encounter, much less near the loyalty of the Legendary Tapu Bulu who she came to call Mantle after responsibilities she’d been given in her home village.
Vex’ahlia, twin sister to Vax’ildan, began her journey far more comfortable in the woods and on the routes than in the villages and towns, and there had bonded deeply with her firs two partners: Ranger, her Decidueye, and Trinket the Ursaring. She was just as fond of her later additions: Haggle, the Persian, and Rogue, the (Mega-Evolving) Absol. And if her partnering with the Honchkrow, Witchbroom, was under somewhat-dubious circumstances, one could still not deny the trainer’s care. Perhaps even stranger was her coming to have on her team the Legendary Solgaleo, called Pelor by the girl, but it seemed undeniably fitting that the twins have counterpoint legendaries anchoring their respective teams.
Never too far from Vex was Percival—hardly the first (and certainly not the last, if rumors around his sister Cassandra were anything close to true) of the well-known, if somewhat strange de Rolo family to enter the tournament. Of course, he had the signature Pokemon of his family: Glaceon, his named Whitestone. There were some that questioned the inclusion of his second Pokemon, but the general consensus was that there must be some sort of sentimental attachment to an early—perhaps first—capture that led him to keep on his final team Spectacles, the Watchog. Gunslinger, his Mega-Evolving Blastoise was a powerful force, but not nearly as feared as Contract, his Spiritomb. There was something almost laughable about the Klingklnag, Clocks, but all laughter died in the face of the Legendary Yveltal, his dark Orthax.
It was generally considered that the one advantage any opponent of theirs would have would be that each of the eight would have to fight their way through the tournament alone, rather than the group that they’d grown accustomed to working as along their journey. Even then, many didn’t fell that nay challenger outside of Vox Machina had any shade of a chance at victory. Except…
…Except, perhaps, for the mysterious, last-minute entry…
The only name he gave was ‘Matt,’ and though no one knew where he’d come from or where he’d trained, his team was as stacked as any of theirs: His (Mega) Gardevoir, Allura, led the powerful line-up, backed by Kima, the Hitmonchan, and the Alakazam, Gilmore. His Voltorb, Victor, promised to be a Wildcard, and was, in its own way, just as terrifying as the final two members: Briarwoods, the Malamar, and his own Legendary, the Zygarde he called Raishan.
No, there was absolutely no predicting how this year’s tournament would go, but one:
It would be a story told through the years to come.

I’m gonna start with my supernatural au. If you follow me then you’ll have seen me mention it as the Demon!Juls AU. This is gonna be a long piece when finished. I have tentatively titled it At the edge of the hellfire, but I’m sure that’ll change when I finally post it on AO3 -so keep an eye out for it. I’m still working on the first chapter which is the hardest due to some heavy shit in it. Below the read line is a whole ass scene I already have written that takes place further in the fic; however, it is technically incomplete and will likely undergo some changes when I actually reach that point.
Juliana stared deeply into Valentina’s eyes in the grandest gesture of trust she could provide; looking into ocean-eyes that could perfectly reflect the owner’s emotions; staring into cerulean orbs that made Juliana feel like she was seen; eyes that literally had the power to make the raven-haired woman do whatever the vampire wanted – something the hunter would willingly do even without compulsion.
Juliana brought her right hand up to cradle Valentina’s cheek, absentmindedly stroking it with her thumb until she caught sight of the stark contrast between the black glove on her hand and Valentina’s skin. Just like that the spark of whatever Juliana could feel was happening between them completely evaporated, leaving her awash in a steadily rising tension borne from apprehension and guilt. Just before Valentina could close the distance between their lips Juliana turned her head to the side while maintaining (the connection at their foreheads/the contact point at their foreheads). The younger woman closed her eyes not wanting to see how the vampire was looking at her, didn’t want to think about what she would see in Val’s blue eyes – especially after she told her the truth.
Valentina, ever in tune and seemingly sensing her tumultuous thoughts, whispered a simple “Juls” weighted with a concern and confusion Juliana could feel like every embrace they have shared in the short time they have known one another. The care in Valentina’s voice was too much to handle and Juliana released a shaky breath before pulling away and severing any physical contact between them. Valentina was not to be deterred however, and Juliana could sense the older woman taking a hesitant step forward as a hand gently held hers.
“Juls, mírame.” The words ghosted across the shorter woman’s face accompanied by the sensation of Valentina rubbing her knuckles.
The hunter only closed her eyes tighter and felt tears gather at the corners. Juliana couldn’t bear it. There was no point in denying it. This ethereal creature looked at her with the kind of love she had never really seen or received from anyone save her mother, and even then, it felt like something more. The mere thought of squandering the light in her eyes, being looked at with the same contempt and revulsion others have directed at the hybrid upon learning of her heritage – like she was less than human and a scourge upon the earth? Juliana could take it from other people, but if she received it from the selfless vampire as well…it would break her.
“Val, I-” and dammit all if she couldn’t stop her voice from cracking. It sounded slightly hysterical to her own ears.
“Juliana, mi amor, mírame,” Valentina entreated, worry creeping into her voice as she wiped a tear from the corner of the younger woman’s eye, brushing raven locks back before cupping her neck. “Por favor.” The vampire’s voice was nothing more than a broken whisper. Like she too could sense that everything was about to fall apart.
That’s what did Juliana in, the endearment that rolled so effortlessly off her tongue, that broken whisper. Her heart tore in two at the sound. For all her otherworldly strength, Juliana doesn’t think she could deny this compassionate creature anything. More than anything, she deserved to know the truth about the woman she chose to spend her time with…even if it destroyed the hybrid and the more-than-friendship growing between them. Juliana took a deep breath and turned her head in the vampire’s direction before opening her eyes.
“Val,” Brown eyes met misty orbs the color of a stormy sea, the most honest and human individual she had ever had the honor meet, and committed every detail about her to memory. Juliana could feel her eyes starting to water and she looked up briefly to get them under control before she looked back at Valentina, willing her voice to stay even as she bared what was left of her soul, poised to shatter whatever illusion they had been living in and witness the end of the best thing that has ever happened in her life thus far.
“Valentina,” she licked her lips in a desperate attempt to bring some moisture to her suddenly dry mouth. The hybrid briefly looked down at their joined hand and reveled in the knowledge of someone fitting so effortlessly with her. Valentina gave her hand a brief squeeze of encouragement. “I’m not human.”
The vampire gave Juliana a lazy and relieved half smile. “Yeah?” She leaned forward and lightly brushed her nose against the younger woman’s, the intimate action relaxing the hunter despite the veritable hurricane of emotions churning inside her. Juliana was suddenly struck with the thought that she may have confirmed the vampire’s suspicions. “You thought that I would have a problem with-”
Juliana gave a mirthless laugh and shook her head, the action making the older woman tilt her head in confusion and bite her lip in thought. “No, Valentina, escuchame. I’m not human,” she reiterated.
Valentina looked deeply into her eyes almost as if she was searching for something. She then directed her gaze to Juliana’s gloved right hand and held it between both of her own. It shouldn’t have surprised the hybrid that the vampire had quickly sussed out what caused the sudden change, they are so attuned to each other, but it did, which made things that much harder. Valentina raised the gloved hand to eye-level and looked at her beseechingly. Juliana gave a barely discernable nod of acknowledgement and the older woman gave her a lingering kiss on her forehead.
Valentina held the hunter’s wrist in one hand and gently pulled off the leather glove with other, slowly revealing keratinous plate-like scales that covered the back of Juliana’s hand like armor in a black so dark it shined with a blueish hue. As Valentina revealed the first set of knuckles she became aware of a slight pulsing glow that wrapped around the back of the hand and knuckles, the same shade of blue-purple as lightning. Juliana could see the exact moment the other woman realized it was coming from the “skin” that wasn’t covered as the vampire stared in awe. Valentina continued removing the glove discovering that after the second knuckle the skin was free of scales. The taller woman finished taking off the glove and touched the thinner and smoother skin of the fingers that ended in claw-like points, fascinated by the faint but steady glow of her palm.
There must have been something in Juliana’s gaze or the way that she seemed to brace herself that the vampire realized there was more and correctly surmised that the last remaining barrier was the jacket. As Valentina made to slide the jacket off Juliana’s shoulders the hunter broke eye contact and stared at the floor in shame while she quickly shucked the jacket off herself. Juliana shut her eyes tight and held back tears as she revealed that almost the entirety of her right arm was just as monstrous as her hand. She didn’t even bother to suppress the way she flinched when Valentina gasped at the sight.
And the truth shall set you free, she bitterly thought all the while revealing her true nature in a statement devoid of the warmth that once lingered between them. “I’m a demon.” She didn’t care about the nuances or the fact that she was only a quarter demon; it was all anyone focused on, so she said the only thing others heard – the only thing that mattered. In the deafening silence that followed Juliana refused to look at Valentina and was mentally preparing herself to sever ties with this amazing woman.
[P] Creatures were still viewed as human in the community, but not demons – especially not a half-breed like herself. Even amongst fellow demons she was met with scorn. Demons or devils or whatever people referred to them as were something to be equally feared and despised, and three years of being on the receiving end of such attitudes on top of the childhood she endured and things she’d done made her believe in that rhetoric.
There was a light touch on her palm as a hand slowly trailed down her arm, tracing the path of the glow running intermittently down the center. When the hand finished its path to the back of Juliana’s hand it was cupped tenderly between two points of warmth and was slowly being raised. At the first brush of Valentina’s cheek against her palm tears were cascading down Juliana’s cheeks, and when Valentina pressed a kiss inside her hand there was nothing the shorter woman could do to stop the sobs that violently wracked her body. Valentina kept Juliana’s hand pressed against her cheek and used the other to cup the shorter girl’s neck and bring the hunter closer to her, kissing away the trails left by tears.
“Oh, mi amor,” the vampire whispered reverently before pressing a soft but lingering kiss to Juliana’s lips. The action incited a fresh wave of tears and choked sobs as she pulled the hunter closer to her in a tight embrace, tucking the younger woman’s head against her neck.

Hello~
So I decided to gift little stories to my close friends for Christmas; although the idea came to me a bit too late to have them ready for the actual day. Instead, I looked to know what each of you would like (and one of you is being totally surprised thanks to our common friend ^_~), and said I would have them done in January.
The time has come; surprise @lascivus! This is technically a gift from @alteriius too, since I asked about what you would like and we brainstormed together; but I never showed the story itself so neither of you knows what to expect~
Warning: pureposefully vague, or shall I say open; and feels. Let’s just say in few words that the idea happened to be a crossover between FFXV and Sally Face, where Noctis and Prompto do not know which life is real and which is a dream. Maybe both, maybe neither. Implicit Prompto/Noctis, too!
Enjoy~
Prompto felt his heart skip a beat as he saw the name written beside the bell. Go meet the new neighbour, his dad had told him, as he made sure Prompto's mask was well placed. I'm sure you'll find new friends.
Well, no one told him the son of the mayor would be his new neighboor. How was he supposed to introduce himself? What would he think of the white mask covering his face?
The door opened, and both young men blinked at each other. The raven haired tilted his head with a confused, but curious, expression; and Prompto's cheeks flushed. He was so grateful for his mask, the last thing he needed was to be a blushing, stuttering mess in front of Noctis fricking Caelum.
Instead he would just be a stuttering mess. “H-Hello, hum, sir..?” Oh heaven, strike him down right now. He might as well continue and hope for the best. “I'm Prompto, your new neighbour. I thought I would introduce myself.”
Oh lord, why was Noctis smiling softly? “Nice to meet you, Prompto. I'm Noctis, though I think you knew that.” His eyes sparkled, did he realize Prompto was blushing? “Why don't you come in for a bit?” The man paused, hesitating, and oh lord, was this a faint blush? “If you have time?”
Prompto found himself nodding before he could think, heart pounding because Noctis had barely seemed fazed after the initial surprise of seeing the white mask. Noctis stepped aside, and Prompto entered.
It was only once Noctis lead him to grab something to drink that Prompto notice the limp, and when they sat down, he could see some of the prosthetic leg. Noctis caught his eyes, and smiled.
“Got into an accident, lost a leg.” His eyes took into the covered face, but mostly look into the visible eyes; but oh, did he feel curious about said face hidden behind. “I've gotten used to it, but it still hurt sometimes. Dad wanted me to live close to the school for that.”
“You're going to be in my high school?” Prompto blurted in surprise, something like excitement bubbling in his chest.
Noctis smiled wider. “It seems so.” He scratched the back of his neck, looking away as he added, softer, “I'm kind of glad there's someone my age living here too.”
Prompto could not stop the beaming smile, this time very certain that Noctis was flustered; and very glad his own flush was hidden. Or so he hoped. Noctis seemed too knowing. Oh heaven, his ears, they must have been betraying him all along.
Except he had troubles feeling embarrassed, when Noctis seemed happy with his presence.
“Prompto? Wake up!”
The blond mumbled, trying to bury himself more into the nice warmth, clinging to the happy feeling. A laughed made the chest against his face rumble, and oh, what, wait, a chest; Prompto opened his eyes and moved backward a bit.
“Hello, sleepyhead.” Noctis greeted, a little bit flustered, almost like in his dream.
Prompto half wished he had the mask as he felt his cheeks heat up a bit. Instead he smiled sheepishly, straightening, rubbing his eyes because the sleepiness had troubles leaving him. Then they were attacked, and alterness came to him.
But later, once they were safe, Prompto still felt tired, and the wound on his arm hurt. He felt happy to fall back in bed.
He woke up in Noctis' flat, oh yeah, Noctis offered they have a sleepover, right?
Prompto stretched; and yelped when pain flared. He dropped his arms, and stared.
The wound. The same wound. Wait, no, hadn't he fallen yesterday?
He felt eyes on him, and when he looked up, Noctis was there, staring at Prompto's arm with a blank look.
His limp was worst, hadn't he taken a bad fall during the fight?
“I hit myself when I was sleeping.” Noctis mumbled, coming close and dropping to sit beside Prompto. “Hey… What do you dream about?”
Prompto's heart seemed to stop for a moment. He stared at Noctis, swallowing; and saw the uncertainty he felt mirrored in Noctis' gaze. His body started to tremble, and Noctis' arms were around him then, a hug he returned right away.
Everything felt so confusing. He felt solid, he felt awake; yet it felt wrong to call it a dream, this journey, Ignis and Gladio.
Or were they trapped in a dream right now? Was it why the building felt so strange, why some said it was haunted?
“We need to figure out what's happening here.” Prompto whispered, oh so grateful that at least, Noctis' warmth felt real. Surely, it was too real to be fake, and both of them seemed to share this… dream or whatever.
“We'll find the truth, together.” Noctis agreed, a promise, but not yet letting go of Prompto, afraid he would be gone, that he would wake without him.
They never expected that looking for what the building hide would confuse them more than help them. Ghosts and demons, it had to be the dream right? Or was it what caused the dreams of this other life?
Which life did they want to be true?
They only had each other to trust, only each other to prove they were alive, that both of them were alive; warm lips and gentle hands, only when they were together they could forget about everything else.
They left marks on each other, proving they were both real. They were falling, scared and lost, because they found those marks when Noctis had a prosthetic leg and Promptis a mask, they found those marks alongside battles wounds when they treated each other after the latest hunt.
They could not remember where they made those marks.
The ghosts warned them of the dangers of the giant shadow. They faced and exorcised it. Then they faced an Astral, Noctis almost dying because he froze when the huge shadow covered him.
Ignis worried later, mumbled that the meat Noctis ate might have been bad.
Noctis had eaten meat in the high school.
And one day, Noctis removed Prompto's mask for the first time.
Prompto had never realized he had not been watching the world with his own eyes.

Urban Fantasy Recommendation Masterpost
This is a list of the urban fantasies I’ve enjoyed most over the years, split down a few lines and to be updated as I discover new series. I’m also including contemporary fantasies because the lines often blur. Hope you find something you like on it!
$ for LGBT characters £ for characters of colour € for characters with disabilities * for potentially problematic depictions of the above ! for #ownvoices (all based on my slightly spotty memory, so feel free to correct if I’ve missed something)
World-Focused
or stories that spend most of their time steeping you in the magical world
American Gods - Neil Gaiman £
Shadow Moon gets out of jail and is hired by the cagey Mr. Wednesday to … he’s not really clear, honestly, but it puts him in the path of people who may or may not be gods. Multiple mythologies.
Among Others - Jo Walton €!
A 1980s teen flees her troubled home in Wales to get to know her birth father and attend an English boarding school. Is her mother’s family able to work magic or is it just wishful thinking? Reading science fiction might give her the answers. British folklore and faeries, and a very interesting take on magic.
The Boggart - Susan Cooper
A Canadian family inherits a Scottish castle inhabited by a mischievous boggart—who then stows away and finds himself in Toronto. Scottish folklore.
The Bone Clocks - David Mitchell £
The life of a woman from teen-hood to old age as she lives her life and occasionally intersects with an ancient war between good and evil, fought with telepathy and other things that look a lot like magic.
The Changeling - Victor Lavalle £ !
After his infant son is violently attacked, Apollo Kagwa, used bookseller, descends into the hidden world of New York in search of his vanished wife.
The City We Became - N.K. Jemisin - $ £ ! for race

the Dark is Rising series - Susan Cooper €*
A group of English kids—four siblings, a seventh son, and a boy who might be a reincarnated Arthur—versus the forces of darkness. Five books, only the last of which includes all the kids. Cornish and English folklores, Arthuriana.
Gods Behaving Badly - Marie Phillips
The Greek pantheon now lives in North London and is as dysfunctional as ever. Artemis walks dogs. Aphrodite does phone sex. Apollo is a washed-out TV psychic who’s just fallen, via Eros, for the cleaning lady—who’s trying to date someone else, thank you very much. Greek mythology.
The Golem and the Jinni - Helene Wecker £
A golem and a jinni both find themselves in turn-of-the-century New York, both literally and figuratively. A beautiful exploration of the immigrant experience, friendship, and identity. Jewish and Arabic folklore.
Good Omens - Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
A mostly-good angel and mostly-wicked demon discover they’ve been training the wrong Antichrist days before the scheduled apocalypse. The real Antichrist wants a dog and to save the whales. Also features a legacy witch, a rookie witch-finder, the Four Horsemen, the Four Other Horsemen, Satanic nuns, and a Queen soundtrack. Christian mythology.
The Hunter’s Moon - O.R. Melling

Middlegame - Seanan McGuire

Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman £
Richard Mayhew has it all: a good job, a hot fiancée, a nice flat. Then he helps an apparently homeless girl with the power to create doors and is pulled into the magical community below London. Nothing will ever be the same.
Of Blood and Honey and And Blue Skies From Pain - Stina Leicht
It’s tough, living in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, and Liam finds it harder than most. No one trusts him, he can’t find work, everyone wants him to choose a side, and to cap it off, he feels like a monster is inside him and knows something inhuman is stalking him and his. The war between the Fey and the Fallen is heating up, and the only people keeping peace are an order of priests—who also, surprise, want Liam’s help. Irish and Christian mythology.
The Sixth World series - Rebecca Roanhorse $£€ !
Maggie Hoskie is a Monsterslayer of Dinétah, but she’d rather not be. Even rescuing a kidnapped girl is supposed to be a one-shot deal. But the monster’s a new one, an apprentice medicine man’s attached himself to her, and Coyote’s around, so of course it’s not that simple. Navajo mythology.
Son of a Trickster - Eden Robinson £€ !
Jared’s life sucks. He’s sixteen, living in a crap house in a crap town with crap prospects. He’s paying his dad’s rent with weed money. His mom’s more interested in parties than holding down a job. Unfortunately, the master vampire’s still after them, the magical police know something’s up, and she just wants to keep being normal. Includes mild, realistic PTSD and a whole lot of delicious desserts.
An Unkindness of Magicians - Kat Howard
The Turning has started in New York and every magician in the city has their own reason for entering the tournament—power, status, acknowledgement, revenge, revolution. The high stakes would be enough for anyone, but it’s starting to look like there’s something suddenly wrong with magic, too.
Witches of Ash and Ruin - E. Latimer - $ £ € *
Dayna wants to be a witch, live her life, and block her OCD thoughts so she doesn’t have to deal with them. Then scary but gorgeous Meiner and her coven roll into town prophesying Bad Things, and a serial killer reappears who seems to target witches and shit. Meet. Fan. Themes of family and abuse.
Ysabel - Guy Gavriel Kay
Ned Marriner’s tagging along with his photographer dad to Provence when he begins to notice magic awakening around him. The Arcadia Project series - Mishell Baker $£€ !

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and The Long, Dark Tea-Time of the Soul - Douglas Adams

Grew up imprisoned at an A.R.G.U.S. lab until he is freed by Lily.
Accidentally almost kills Ray when the Legends find him and Lily’s metahuman refuge.
Doesn’t trust the Legends and was upset that Lily wanted to go with them.
Is incredibly insecure about his powers and believes he hasn’t fully accessed his full potential.
Lily:
Has the power to manipulate all sort of energy, including life force.
Knows her power isn’t as strong as Zach’s, which she believes is because death is stronger than life.
Wants to become part of the Legends so that one day she can change the timeline and erase A.R.G.U.S.’ existence.
Does not forgive her father for experimenting on metahumans, although she misses her parents very much.
Is very trusting and optimistic, despite all she’s seen
Natalyie
The only survivor the massacre at Tuanul, was saved by Poe and escaped with BB-8.
Becomes close friends with Finn and Rey when she becomes part of the adventure.
Meets Mia when she decides to stay at the Resistance base.
Skilled with a speeder and other vehicles, eventually trains to become a pilot.
Becomes close with Mia when she is assigned to maintain Natalyie’s ship
Mia
Has been a part of the Resistance all her life.
Was taught to be a mechanic from her father and older brother.
Blames herself for the death of her mother when her ship malfunctions during a mission.
Also good with droids
Close friends with Poe and the Tico sisters
Are they in love or do they have a crush? A relationship?
Eloise: If you’d ask her straight up, she tell you no to all three, even though Raven would say otherwise. She has a weird relationship with Bellamy, which is somewhere between best friends and something more, but Eloise is still reluctant to let people too close.
Madeline: Madeline has the biggest crush on Barbara, and she doesn’t even bother trying to hide it. They eventually start dating, even when Madeline is supposed to be undercover.
Brett: Brett has a massive crush on Eggsy, but he’s too afraid to say something about it.
Dorothy: Dorothy has a tiny crush on Jack, but they also have a bit of a weird relationship that borders between mentor/apprentice, friends and something more. But Dorothy knows he’s still not over the death of his wife.
Olivia: Olivia has a tiny crush on Cook, but she’s too shy to tell him about it. Especially since she think’s he’s more interested in Effy than her.
Trysha: Trysha definitely wouldn’t say she’s in love, but she has a bit of a soft spot for Jaime, even though they’ve only met once or twice, because she thinks he’s truly good at heart. But she’s not sure if she’d describe that as a crush.
Alexandra: Alexandra had hooked up with Matt, yet it never went anywhere. They both tried to make it work, but it eventually fizzled out, especially with the arrival of Elektra catalysing it. She’d want to try again if she had the chance, but otherwise, she’d rather focus on work.
Ryan: Ryan’s never had that many crushes his whole life, even back on Earth, and sometimes he wonders if he’ll ever find someone. However, if he doesn’t, he think’s he’ll be content with it, especially he loves being with the Guardians.
Zachary: Zachary is in love with Lily, no matter how hard he tries to deny it. She’s his best friend, and he gets incredibly jealous when she starts hanging out with the other Legends.
Lily: Lily will fall in love with someone at the drop of a hat. She’s pretty sure she’s had crushes on half of the Legends already, but she has a soft spot for Zachary.
Natalyie: Natalyie had been attracted to Mia right from the start, and has asked her out. The two have been in a relationship ever since.
Mia: Mia is been in a relationship with Natalyie, and is secretly grateful Natalyie is so upfront with her feelings and asked her out first, since Mia is pretty sure she’d be to shy to ever ask Natalyie out.
Is there a song that makes you think of your OC?
Eloise: Demons by Imagine Dragons
Madeline: Carried Away by Passion Pit
Brett: The Kids Aren’t Alright by Fall Out Boy
Dorothy: Shore by Daniela Andrade
Olivia: Drop Everything by Barcelona
Trysha: Carry You by Novo Amor
Alexandra: Sick of Losing Soulmates by dodie
Ryan: Some Nights by Fun.
Zachary: Dangerous (feat. Joywave) by Big Data
Lily: Renegades by X Ambassadors
Natalyie: Unstoppable by The Score
Mia: I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers
If you have more than one OC:
Who was the first? Eloise!!
Who is the tallest? Probably Brett, who’s 6″3′
Who is the shortest? Olivia, who’s 5″2′
Who is the most intelligent? It’s a tie between Dorothy and Ryan, with Mia close behind
Who is the most ruthless? Eloise and Zachary for sure, and Trysha could be up there when she wants to be.
Who is most likely to get themselves killed? Brett, possible Natalyie
Who has the prettiest singing voice? Olivia is great at singing when she actually opens her mouth, and Madeline is pretty good too.
Who is most likely to become a crazy cat lady? Madeline, I mean, she’s already halfway there with the crazy part.
Who is the worst cook? Alexandra. She doesn’t even bother anymore, she just gets takeout.
Who is the most likely to steal candy from a baby? Brett, since Eggsy probably dared him.
Who sings in the shower? Lily and back on the Ark, Eloise, although she’d rather die than admit it.
Who doesn’t believe in ghosts? Dorothy and Alexandra. Ryan didn’t use to believe, until he got to space, then figured anything was possible.
Preferences
If your OC could have any superpower, which would it be and why?
Eloise: Eloise would want the power to manipulate time, specifically be able to go back and time and change the past. She wouldn’t be sure how to do it, but she’d make saving her father her top priority.
Madeline: Madeline would love to be able to read people’s minds and influence them.
Brett: Brett would want something that enhances him physically, like super strength or super speed -- something that would make him better in combat.
Dorothy: Dorothy would want healing powers. She’s saved lots of lives as a paramedic, but she’s also lost many -- and she hates the feeling of losing someone she’s trying to save.
Olivia: Olivia would also want to be telepathic. She likes observing people, and she’d be curious to know what goes on in people’s heads.
Trysha: Trysha also want to be able to go back in time and save her family, and everyone else she loves.
Alexandra: Alexandra sometimes wishes she had enhances abilities, like super speed, because when she’s with the Defenders she sometimes feels a little useless being unable to fight.
Ryan: Ryan was fascinated by Peter’s abilities on Ego’s planet, and wishes he could control energy, just because it looks cool.
Zachary: --
Lily: --
Natalyie: Natalyie would want pyrokinetic powers, because she develops a little bit of an obsession with fire, because it makes her think of how The First Order destroyed her home, and reminds her what she’s fighting for.
Mia: Mia would want hydrokinetic powers, because water calms her. She likes sitting by rivers or lakes and just listening to the sound of the water.
What is their favourite kind of candy?
Eloise: Eloise isn’t a fan of sweet things, although she doesn’t mind a little bit of chocolate
Madeline: Lollipops, any flavor
Brett: Chocolate
Dorothy: Gummy worms
Olivia: Also gummy worms, since they’re also Scott’s favorite.
Trysha: Chocolate
Alexandra: Caramel hard candies
Ryan: Any kind of sour candy
Zachary: Any kind of minty candy
Lily: Gummy bears
Natalyie: Lemon sherbets
Mia: Bubble gum, it helps her concentrate
What’s their favourite flavour?
Eloise: Salt and vinegar
Madeline: Any type of berry
Brett: Sweet and sour, jalapeño
Dorothy: Coffee, peanut butter
Olivia: Vanilla, cinnamon
Trysha: Lemon, rosemary
Alexandra: Coffee
Ryan: Apple, grape
Zachary: Mint chocolate
Lily: Anything fruity, except orange
Natalyie: Anything citrusy
Mia: Peach
Which TV show do you think they would definitely like if they could watch it?
Eloise: The Amazing Race
Madeline: The Bold Type
Brett: The Punisher
Dorothy: Legion
Olivia: Stranger Things
Trysha: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Alexandra: Narcos
Ryan: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Zachary: Mindhunter
Lily: The Gifted
Natalyie: Supergirl
Mia: Black Lightning
Details
Name a bad habit your OC has?
Eloise: Shuts people out really easily. All it takes is for one thing to go wrong, and Eloise can completely shut down. It’s a coping mechanism she’s developed to protect herself, since she figures if she doesn’t let anyone close, she won’t get hurt.
Madeline: Drinking too much. Before she went undercover, Madeline already has a bit of problem with alcohol, but it becomes a full on problem when she starts working at The Sirens. She has problems knowing when to stop.
Brett: Swearing. A lot. Of course, if you asked him, he wouldn’t think it’s a problem, but especially when he’s mad it can get out of hand.
Dorothy: Fidgeting. Dorothy is so used to working and moving around a lot, that when she doesn’t have something to do, she usually finds herself pulling at her sleeves, spinning around pens, and generally just being unable to sit still.
Olivia: Eating too much junk food. Generally, she has a balanced diet, but when she gets stressed she can go through bags of chips and candy without even noticing.
Trysha: Biting her lips. No matter how much her mother tried to get her to drop the habit, it’s just become something she does. She’ll sometimes pick at the dry skin on her lips too, although she knows she shouldn’t.
Alexandra: Overworking herself. She’ll work day and night and won’t look after herself, and she’ll usually end up stressing herself out.
Ryan: Staying up late. He doesn’t mean too, but sometimes he’ll get so absorbed in a new invention he’s building, or talking to his family on the radio, he won’t realise he hadn’t slept at all until Peter or Gamora comes by his room the next day.
Zachary: Incredibly distrusting. He just has a hard time opening up to people, which means often times he comes off as very rude or standoffish when he meets new people.
Lily: She plays with her hair a lot. Usually when she’s nervous, but even when she’s deep in through she’ll find herself tugging it or twisting it, which means the ends of her hair are kinda frayed. She’ll keep it up out of her face most of the time to stop herself.
Natalyie: Being a bit close minded. She’s incredibly stubborn, and it takes her a while to see things from another perspective.
Mia: Stressing herself out too easily, especially over the most minute failure. She’s a bit of a perfectionist, so she doesn’t handle it very well when something goes wrong.
Empty their pockets – what’s in there?
Eloise: A knife. Maybe a few bullets she forgot she had stashed. Possibly a tool or a loose wire Raven asked her to hold onto and she had forgot to return.
Madeline: Receipts. Pieces of paper she’s scribbled on. A pen. One or two lipsticks and maybe some mascara. Some loose change she couldn’t be bothered to put in her wallet.
Brett: Tips from his job as a waiter. His phone. Wallet. Kingsman glasses.
Dorothy: Surgical gloves. A pen or two. Statesman glasses. Her phone. Lots of hair ties and bobby pins.
Olivia: Her phone. Wallet. Probably a folded up drawing Scott had given her.
Trysha: A knife or two. An arrowhead. A small piece of fabric she was intending to make into a dress for her mother, but never finished.
Alexandra: Her phone. Wallet. Apartment keys. Maybe a hairband or two. An earring.
Ryan: A picture of his family. A weapon Rocket had made for him. His radio.
Zachary: Probably just some lint.
Lily: A bracelet from her mother.
Natalyie: Her communications device which she frequently forgets to wear. A small trinket Mia made for her. Knife.
Mia: Loose bolts and screws. Hairbands, both new and broken.
What makes them (unreasonably) angry or defensive, what kind of behaviour in others can’t they stand? Pet Peeves?
Eloise: Eloise will get incredibly angry if anyone tries to bring up her past against her, or try and hurt her friends. She hates being excluded from important decisions.
Madeline: Madeline gets angry if anyone brings up her alcoholism, or even makes a small remark about how much she drinks. She gets annoyed when others are too serious.
Brett: A lot of things can get Brett riled up, since he’s got a bit of an anger issue. If you try to sideline him or underestimate him, if you’re rude to his friends, even if you just accidentally bump into him, he might snap.
Dorothy: Not many things can get Dorothy angry or defensive. She’ll get angry if someone threatens her mother, otherwise she’s pretty patient. Occasionally, she’ll get annoyed when the paramedics she’s working with get in her way or aren’t doing their job right, especially if someone’s life is on the line.
Olivia: Bringing up her family, especially her little brother, is a bit of a sore spot for Olivia and will definitely make her defensive. Other than that, she’s keeps to herself.
Trysha: Thinking about the death of her parents and brothers gets Trysha incredibly angry, and she also can’t stand when people underestimate her and Arya.
Alexandra: Alexandra gets annoyed pretty easily, especially if a case doesn’t go right for her. She’s not very good at losing, and will overwork herself to win a case, and expects the people around her to do the same -- so if anyone slacks off around her, she’ll get angry. She also can’t stand slow walkers.
Ryan: Ryan’s a pretty chill guy, but one of his pet peeves is when someone messes with his stuff. Especially in his room. He has everything in a certain place and has a system for everything, so if someone goes in there and messes it up, which is usually Peter or Drax, that’ll really push his buttons.
Zachary: Zachary gets angry very easily, but will lose it if something every happens to Lily. He also gets defensive when it comes to his family and his past.
Lily: Lily gets angry when people don’t believe in her, and also if they try and agitate Zachary. She also gets angry when she can’t help others, but more so getting angry at herself than others.
Natalyie: Natalyie gets furious thinking about the First Order, and that’s pretty much it. She also gets angry at herself when she fails a mission, or when she’s ordered to fall back or do something she doesn’t fully believe in.
Mia: Mia also gets angry at herself when she fails something. She also gets angry whenever someone doubts her abilities or tries to do her job.
Is your OC a good liar?
Eloise: She didn’t use to be, but she’s developed the skill over time. But she doesn’t usually lie, she prefers to be upfront.
Madeline: When it comes to big things that matter, she can be trusted to lie (Jim did send her undercover, after all). But when it comes to little things, not at all. She either gets too flustered or starts getting all giggly, especially when she’s drunk.
Brett: He’s not great at it. He usually blurts out the truth.
Dorothy: She can be if she needs to be, but people she’s close to can usually tell if she’s lying.
Olivia: She’s a decent liar, and becomes better at it.
Trysha: Although Trysha prefers to tell the truth, she’s an excellent liar when she needs to be, a skill she perfects even more over time.
Alexandra: She’s great at lying.
Ryan: Not the greatest, both when he was on Earth and in space.
Zachary: Pretty good at lying, especially since he’s spent most his life being secretive and hiding his true feelings.
Lily: In a serious situation, she can lie decently. Otherwise, she’s not great at it, and gets too nervous.
Natalyie: Was a great liar as a kid and still is, to this day.
Mia: Not a good liar, she gets too flustered.

Clexa Halloween Week Day 2
Word Count: 1455
Rating: Teen
Read on AO3: http://archiveofourown.org/works/12513600
There were times when Lexa really fucking hated being a ghost.
I mean, sure it sucked most of the times because, you know...she was dead. But then there would really be something that would just aggravate the hell out of her…
...Like when a new person moved in…
Lexa wasn’t really the biggest fan of people when she was alive (besides Anya and Lincoln) but now that she was forced into the afterlife...yeah, people suck.
Except Clarke Griffin.
Lexa wasn’t really sure what it was about that pretty girl with the silky blonde hair and sky blue eyes. Okay, she knew. Clarke was ridiculously attractive. And she had a pretty laugh to match and she didn’t seem to mind at all when Lexa would break her coffee mugs in frustration.
Clarke didn’t seem to be scared of Lexa. And it bothered her. A lot.
Lexa glowered at Clarke as she laughed her pretty laugh with her friends Raven, Octavia, and Bellamy. Clarke, unbeknownst to Lexa’s dark stare, tossed her hair back and reached for her coffee mug- one that Lexa hadn’t broken.
“This is a pretty nice place, Clarke,” Octavia commented. Clarke nodded and smiled.
“I know, right? And it was such a good deal on the house!”
“Pretty rare for this area,” Bellamy observed.
“Yeah, well…” Clarke shifted. “Apparently someone died in here.” Lexa stiffened. “Which I wouldn’t exactly doubt.”
“Why not?” Raven asked. She pushed up the sleeves of her red bomber jacket.
“I dunno...some weird stuff has been happening.”
“Like what?” her three friends chorused, exchanging glances.
“Three of my mugs have broken this week alone, guys. They just...shatter. And there are these weird cold spots and I swear it just feels like someone is always watching me.”
Clarke sounded frightened. Truly. And Lexa felt terrible. She didn’t really want to scare Clarke. She just wanted her to get out of her house. This was her house.
“I mean, this house is pretty old,” Raven pointed out. “Old houses are always kind of weird.”
“You said someone died here?” Bellamy asked.
“May have,” Clarke corrected. Her blue eyes looked sad, haunted. “And yeah. There was no evidence left, so no one really believed it. The realtor  told me that the owner just disappeared.”
Bullshit, Lexa thought. She was here, right here.
“Wouldn’t they file a missing person's report?”
“Apparently the person had no family. Their friends did, but they were never found. So it’s just a mystery.”
Lexa trembled with anger and sadness. She missed Anya and Lincoln so much it hurt. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair.
Suddenly, there was a smashing sound and Octavia yelled, “Clarke watch out!” Clarke’s mug, along with everyone else’s, exploded, and Clarke yelped and knelt on the ground.
“What...the fuck?” Raven exclaimed. She carefully brushed glass off of her clothes. They tinkled as they landed on the ground and the sound was eery.
“Clarke, you’re bleeding.” Clarke looked at her hand and saw a medium sized gash in her palm, with a large piece of glass sticking out of it. She swallowed.
“I’ll grab the first aid kit.” Octavia was already up and running to the bathroom.
Lexa felt sick as she looked at Clarke. She had never wanted her to get hurt. Why did she have to ruin everything?
“Clarke, you can’t stay here. It’s not safe,” Bellamy said. Raven nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, Clarke. Whatever spirit or...demon is here, they’re really angry with you.”
“I think you’re right,” the blonde agreed, and Raven and Bellamy looked at each other in surprise. Octavia returned with the first aid kit and set to work on Clarke’s hand.
“Stay with me for a few days,” Raven urged. “We can figure out what to do about the house later.”
As Clarke was nodding, Lexa whispered, “No.”
Clarke’s head snapped up and looked to where Lexa was standing. They locked eyes.
Blue met green for a very long moment.
Finally, Lexa whispered, “don’t leave me.”
***
Long after Clarke was able to convince her friends that she would be fine at home, that she would figure everything out, she came up with a plan.
“This is crazy,” Clarke whispered to herself as she grabbed the Ouija board from the attic (because of course there would be one). She got a few candles as well and set everything up at her dining table.
“Okay.” She let out a long breath. “Um. Hello? Miss?”
The planchette stayed still.
“Look, I don’t really know how this works.” Clarke gestured at the board. “But I figured it would get you to talk to me so…”
Still, there was no movement.
“I knew this was a bad idea. God, I’m such a-”
“You don’t have to do that,” a voice said behind her.
Clarke screamed and whirled around. Standing there was a woman with forest green eyes and long, dark curly hair. She was dressed plainly in a shirt and jeans. Her feet were bare and she had a half-smirk planted on her beautiful face.
Once again, there was a long silence as the two stared at each other.
At last, Clarke managed to say, “do what?”
“This...that thing.” The woman gestured at the Ouija board and the planchette moved fast around the board. Clarke’s jaw dropped. “You don’t have to use that to talk to me. You can just call for me.”
“Then why didn’t you answer when I called you?” Clarke demanded.
The woman’s little smirk grew into a full one. “Ah, I like the element of surprise.”
The blonde scoffed. “Wow,” she deadpanned, “I didn’t know ghosts can be assholes.”
Her laugh was full and bright and Clarke shivered.
“So...who would I be calling then?”
“Oh.” The ghost moved the planchette around the board, spelling her name: L-E-X-A.
“It’s nice to meet you Lexa, I’m Clarke. Now I have a question, why the fuck are you haunting me?”
The bit of playful mirth in Lexa’s eyes vanished. “Technically you’re in my home.”
Clarke felt the urge to apologize. “Oh,” she uttered awkwardly. “I didn’t know that. I thought someone died here-”
“Yes. That was me.”
The silence this time was more awkward.
“You hurt me,” Clarke said quietly. The statement wasn’t meant to sound accusatory, but Lexa still flinched as if she’d been slapped. She gently reached for Clarke’s hand and ran her fingers gently over the bandage. Clarke gasped at the cold feeling. “I didn’t know ghosts could touch humans like that.”
“I didn’t either.” Lexa was amazed at how warm she felt. She was usually so cold all the time. Clarke Griffin was the literal embodiment of sunshine with her golden hair and warm skin and warm laugh. Lexa felt cold and inferior next to her.
Clarke surprised Lexa by gripping her hand tight in her own. Lexa couldn’t help the silly grin that spread over her face.
“You wanted me to leave. That’s why you tried to scare me and hurt me.” The brunette nodded mutely, ashamed into silence by her actions. “But then earlier you wanted me to stay. Why did you want me to stay?”
Lexa shook her head. “I thought I still had an entitlement to this place. I was jealous because you were living while I’m stuck in...wherever this is. But now…” She looked around the house that had once been hers, a cold place that now seemed so warm and full of light and happiness. This house had never been hers; it always seemed to belong to Clarke. Lexa knew that now. She understood that. “You can stay here. I’m the one that needs to go.” Lexa had no idea where she would go, but she wouldn’t bring Clarke down anymore. She wouldn’t scare her or hurt her.
Clarke shook her head. “I don’t want you to go. This is your home- our home. We can make it work. We can co-exist. I want you here, Lexa.” Lexa smiled and leaned her forehead against Clarke’s. They both shivered at the contact.
“I want you too. I want this.” Lexa pressed a quick cold kiss to Clarke’s cheek, and they smiled.
Later that night (well into the morning) after they had talked- nothing too heavy or depressing, just light topics- they both climbed into Clarke’s bed. Lexa had stuttered and fumbled adorably when Clarke had shyly asked her to, and Clarke could have sworn she saw a light blush on Lexa’s cheeks.
Even though Lexa was dead, Clarke was really excited for what would come of their relationship. Yes, there would be  heartache and pain, but with someone as beautiful and strong as Lexa, Clarke believed they would be able to get through it all

And bonus 5;

Sydnee Recommends: Comics/Graphic Novels
These are just my personal favorites that I deem recommendation worthy, enjoy!
Saga by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples
this series is so vast it’s hard to summarize, but basically a couple from opposite sides of a huge space war, are on the run from authorities that want to kill them and their daughter
so. fucking diverse. the two mains are both poc, their babysitter is a lesbian ghost missing half her body, there’s a bisexual black woman that kicks major ass, a trans woman that they actually verbally say is trans, a robot species with tv’s for heads, a gay couple of investigative journalists, a girl rescued from sex slavery, and LYING CAT
it’s like a very high stakes romeo and juliet love story set in space where everyone but romeo and juliet die.
the dialogue is AMAZING and HILARIOUS
**it’s an adult series so there’s lot’s of nudity and violence.
Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda
set in a fantasy version of 1900′s China that’s a fucking matriarchy
main character is of asian descent (not specified but implied chinese) and is missing an arm
takes place during a war between humans, the arcanes (descendants of ancient gods), and witches, as the main character, Maika Halfwolf (what a name!) journeys to get revenge for her mother and uncover the secrets of her past and the demons within her
tons of racial and sexual diversity, 95% of the characters are women, there’s a mute character that uses sign language, and the only confirmed canon couple is between two women
**major trigger warnings: mutilation, abuse, racism/speciesism? (since they aren’t technically human), rape mentions, and violence. it’s really fucking dark, guys.
Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughn and Cliff Chiang
a group of girls that share paper routes in the 80′s get caught up with a weird alien species that jumps dimensions, takes people, and there’s time travel involved (it’s got like MAJOR Stranger Things vibes)
i’ve only read the first volume because i’m on a book buying ban, but i’ve heard there’s wlw in the later issues!
the art is soooooo gooood
We(l)come Back by Christopher Sebela, Clair Roe, and Jeremy Lawson
this one is really hard to explain, you kind of have to just read it to understand, but i’ll try my best
soulmates are reincarnated and trained to kill each other in every new life, then the cycle starts over
in the current lifetime both soulmates identify as wlw (one has a boyfriend), but in the past they’ve been and identified as different genders and sexualities, so they can be viewed as genderfluid and pansexual
it’ll break you
the art is amazing and graphic and so cool
but come on like... ‘lady’ soulmates trained to kill each other????
Runaways by Brian K Vaugh and Adrian Alphona
Brian K. Vaugh basically owns my ass when it comes to graphic novels
a group of kids find out their parents are super villains and runaway and become heroes
it’s like one of the most diverse marvel teams out there with: a black boy-genius, a japanese gothic witch (that might be confirmed bisexual in the reboot idk yet), a chubby jewish feminist with a psychic link to a dinosaur, a lesbian alien that turns into a rainbow, a mutant child with super strength, and a boy with an abusive father and a knack for tech
and in later installments: a genderfluid skrull, a latino cyborg, and a swiss immigrant that was the child bride of an abusive man and can control plants
deals with so much stuff like finding your place in the world, the fear of turning out like your parents, the importance of found family, and dealing with loss
it’s a show on hulu premiering next month!
ODY-C by Matt Fraction and Christian Ward
its a gender bent, queer retelling of the Odyssey where everyone’s a lady
set in SPACE
the art is omg so colorful and vibrant and gorgeous
honestly what more do i need to tell you guys?
Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Valentine DeLandro
set a dystopian world where any woman deemed non-compliant with the patriarchal government’s laws is sent to a prison planet
follows a group of prisoners as they take part in the prison version basically fight club
super dope and diverse and lots of ladies kicking ass but also bonding
Leigh Bardugo has a tattoo reference to this series. if that means anything to y’all *eyeballs emoji*
Y: The Last Man by (shocker) Brian K. Vaughn, Pia Guerra, and Jose Marzan Jr.
follows a man and his pet monkey in a post apocalyptic world where every other male (in every species) has died
so like there’s literally only one human man in the entire thing
so many kick ass ladies wtf
commentary on feminism, politics, and survival
**controversial opinions on the ending but the rest of the series is worth it
Teen Titans by Geoff Johns
this isn’t everyone’s favorite version of the story, but i’m a hoe for raven and beastboy so it’s my favorite
you guys probably know the deal, group of teens form a superhero team and battle evil and all that fun stuff
but full disclosure: raven x beast boy is like 90% of the reason i read these

5 True Stories That Put Every Horror Movie To Shame
Show a group of people a randomly picked news article, and three personality types will emerge. Some ask themselves: “How does this affect me?” Others query: “What can I learn from this?” And then there’s a third group, which rarely wears pants and only wants to know: “What kind of horror movie would this be?” I’m firmly in that last group, and judging by how you clicked on this article, I’m guessing that so are you. So come — let’s grab a bunch of truly creepy news stories and give those stupid, rational types a sample of what the inside of our collective head looks like.

Boats Full Of Corpses Keep Washing Up In Japan
There are many horror plots you’d associate with Japan: creepy ghost girls, giant monsters, the lingering farts of long-gone otakus still haunting their apartment complexes. You wouldn’t necessarily include the classic “ghost ship” story in that list … which is why Japan, being Japan, has taken that trope and cranked it up to 11.
Instead of the traditional version where a ship is found with its crew mysteriously missing (and may or may not make its finders disappear as well, thanks to the vengeful sea ghosts haunting it), the country has opted for a real-life version where mysterious boats full of decomposing and mutilated corpses keep washing up on the country’s shores. That’s insane. Even the most visceral of ghost ship-themed horror movies tend to start with an empty ship, singular. Here, we have a whole bunch, turning up with some alarming regularity, and complete with a ton of well-worn corpses to bring some extra gore to the tale. Is … is this going to be a zombie situation somewhere down the line? Is this how the whole “undead pirate” thing from Pirates Of The Caribbean would really play out?
In the interest of accurate reporting, it should be mentioned that one of the boats has been connected to a unit of North Korea’s army, along with Kim Jong-un’s apparent insistence on fishing as a source of food and foreign income. So the leading boring theory is that these are North Korean ships, risking literal life and limb in order to catch a mackerel or six for the Great Leader.
Wait, hold on. That’s … actually even more terrifying than a dark saltwater god stealing fishermen’s faces or whatever. Imagine that your entire lot in life is sailing notoriously stormy and awful seas in a barely equipped vessel, only for your crew to face the unspeakable horrors of the ocean. Maybe things get so bad that you end up with a Donner Party situation. Finally, after the inevitable gory climax, you wash up in a foreign land, where your badly decomposed mortal remains are collected and cremated by stoic Japanese coast guards who have at this point seen way too much of this shit to give a damn.
Around Act Two of that story, having your soul eaten by a horde of ravenous ocean witches would probably be a welcome respite.

A Company Had A Secret Nuclear Reactor For Decades
Let’s say you’re a resident of Rochester, New York. You’re just minding your own business, pretending your city has famous people who are not Ryan Lochte and Kristen Wiig, when one day, your neighborhood is full of dudes in hazmat suits. Because a company next door had a goddamned secret nuclear reactor in their basement. But what kind of real-life Umbrella Corporation would go and pull a stunt like that … ?
… K-Kodak? The photography company?
What the fuck?
shurik/Pixabay Who knew a Kodak moment has a half-life of 24,110 years?
It’s hard for a corporate entity to seem sympathetic, but Kodak — a company most notorious for manufacturing film — is probably as close as it comes in an era where everyone has a camera in their cell phone. Finding out a firm like that has been gleefully playing with Fallout tech all along is like discovering that your sweet grandpa’s house has a secret dungeon for a 16-foot fuck doll constructed entirely out of rotting ham. Still, Kodak totally had a nuclear reactor. It was called “californium neutron flux multiplier,” and they started messing around with it in 1974. The company is quick to mention that the reactor was just a relatively small one, they were operating it remotely behind two feet of concrete, and they only used it for non-nefarious purposes such as testing chemicals for impurities. They might even point out that they themselves were, in fact, the ones who revealed that they had one in the first place.
To all that I say: Poppycock.
You know what kind of company just abruptly up and goes, “Hey, guys, did we ever tell you the story of this doom machine we’ve had in our basement for decades? We didn’t? Well, how about that, ha-ha!”? One that’s doing damage control, that’s what. I can imagine around least a dozen reasons for Kodak needing an unsanctioned, rarely mentioned nuclear reactor that was suddenly decommissioned in collaboration with the government in 2007. None of those reasons include the words “making photography shit better,” and absolutely all of them include the term “super mutant.”
I’m calling it: They were totally running a nuclear-themed supervillain plot on the side, and something happened in 2007. Maybe their scientists finally managed to create a film that could capture future events, and were driven to homicidal insanity when every image persistently featured forests of flaming skeletons where trees should be. Or maybe, just maybe, they finally managed to recreate my favorite Masters Of The Universe failure Fearless Photog, who proceeded to tear through the facility like the Demogorgon in Stranger Things.
Mattel If nothing else, he’d take found-footage movies to another level.

Family Flees Their Dream House Because Of A Mysterious “Watcher”
The “mysterious stalker in the shadows” trope is present in roughly 95 percent of all horror movies, but in real life, that particular plot device can usually be solved with a call to police, a restraining order, or a swift dropkick right in the dick.
Which makes it all the more intriguing that in 2015, a creepy entity known as “The Watcher” actually managed to stalk a family out of their New Jersey home. And wait, it gets better — said home happened to look like this:
There’s a reason our villain was called the Watcher and not, say, the Melon Baller Eyeball Collector — as befits the majesty of his preferred stalking grounds, he was all about psychological terror. The name of his particular game was threatening letters. And although that could technically put him in a “disgruntled dude who lost the bidding war” or “guy who really hates neighbors” category, he pushed his way into horror movie territory with his … peculiar methods. Here are some choice quotes from his messages:
“The windows and doors allow me to watch you and track you as you move through the house. Who I am? I am the Watcher.”
“Have they found out what is in the walls yet? In time they will.”
Or, in reference to the family’s children:
“I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me.”
Hahahahaha! That’s awesome … ly, uh, awful for the family, that is. The letters kept coming, and as they included apt “young blood” references and hints that the writer actually did keep uncomfortably close tabs on the house and its renovations, the family was too afraid to make the house their home. In fact, they never dared to properly move in.
What really makes this one for me is that as a horror movie, it’s clearly a sequel. Not only does the family heavily insinuate that the previous owners who sold the house to them were already all too aware of The Watcher, the Watcher himself started his campaign of terror (a mere three days after they bought the house in 2014) with a statement that his grandfather and father had watched the house before him, and it now fell on him to “wait for its second coming.”
A real creepy, haunted-looking mansion where every owner is stalked by generations of unknown, hostile entities? Say that sentence out loud three times, and Wes Craven’s ghost will appear to high five you, because you just got yourself a horror franchise.

A Family Finds The Walls Of Their House Are Filled With Animal Carcasses
The Watcher may or may not have been hurling empty threats about “things in the walls,” but in Auburn, MA, one villain damn well delivered … a good 70-80 years in advance.
In 2011, the Bretzius family bought a house. They were thorough in what they were looking for. They had it inspected, looked for radon, the whole nine yards. Everything went well, and they moved in … which is when the dead animals started coming out of the walls.
In 2012, the family discovered to their horror that the walls were full of dead animals, spices, and assorted trinkets, all wrapped up in newspapers from 1930s and 1940s. Intrigued by the what-the-fuckedness of it all, they sent dozens of the carcasses and other finds to experts, who concluded that they likely had something to do with pow-wowing, a peculiar form of Amish folk magic where tricks like this were used to “heal” ailments.
Personally, I call bullshit. It’s one thing to perform a little ceremony for health, like sacrificing a goat whenever you pass through a doorway for the first time (you guys do that too, right?). Stuffing all your walls full of death and spices is the work of a serial killer who wants to show the devil who the boss really is. With that logic, and in the context of Pennsylvania Dutch magic being at play here, I’m forced to assume that the house is haunted by buckriders — demons who ride flying goats from Satan’s flock. Have those guys ever featured in a horror movie? They’re about to!
Still, before the spirits of Bokkenrijders inevitably rise and possess them, the residents of the house are a good example of how haunted houses really screw up a person’s life. Although they are on record for having been adequately “shocked, horrified, and disgusted” when they first found the terror-spell ingredients hiding in their walls, they are more concerned with the fact that this has forced them to do a buttload of expensive renovation their insurance company wants to hear nothing about, and the mold and terrifying smell of the animals has tainted the whole house. That, friend, is the true, mundane yet long-term, horror you’ll face the next time your ceiling starts weeping ectoplasm.

Man Arrested For Smuggling Roasted Black-Magic Fetuses
Wait, what?
I’m … That’s … What?
The Telegraph SIX?
Gold leaf. Jesus.
Look, creepy babies are generally a pretty safe course for any horror movie worth its salt. But it’s one thing to go full Rosemary’s Baby, and completely another to roast fetuses, cover them in gold, and waltz off to the airport with a bunch in your luggage while attempting to whistle innocuously. That’s not the plot of a horror movie — that’s what gets you kicked out of the villain treehouse for creeping out Pennywise The Clown. Even the fact that the guy probably didn’t personally make the horror babies like a good, old-fashioned maniac doesn’t help matters; instead, he bought them from someone else for $6,000 and intended to sell them for profit as black-magic good-luck charms known as kuman thong.
Gilded. Roasted. Fetus. Black. Magic. Good luck charms. That someone out there is actively manufacturing for sale.
You know what? Fuck it. I’m out. I hope you’re proud of yourself, fetus guy. You can’t be spun into a horror movie, because you already are something way, way creepier. In other circumstances, I might say that you won, but I think we can agree that we all lost something precious today. Now, who’s hogging the brain bleach?

The proliferation of beer pong and craft beer may have you think that we’re living in one of the peak times to get drunk, but humans have been getting famously hammered for millennia. Like a frat house’s lawn after a kegger, history is littered with world changing events that were secretly powered by booze. The inaugural games of the Roman Coliseum, the drafting of the US Constitution and the Russian Revolution were all capped off by major parties that most attendees probably regretted in the morning.
