GOD this took literal months to finish her art but my babygirl! My beloved murderous grey-moral babygirl~ (❁´◡`❁)

While I was chatting back when i had the spoons for discord with @flower-seller's Noodle and Salem about their Ransei-verse, darling @jordemme encouraged me to develop an OC to play in the space, but realized my favorite 'mon Inkay was not!! available!! in that gen! Hence, I set out to rectify this and develop someone who quickly became my favorite pokemon OC - and to give her the "official" art she deserves (/≧▽≦)/☆*: .｡. :*☆

And so Maaika came about! This art was started last year, and I've only in recent weeks recovered enough from burnout to complete it but I'm so so so happy with how it came out other stats and facts about her!

Warrior Skill: Marksman | Capacity: 6 Transforms to Rank II by reaching 75% link with Inkay and losing/fainting in battle. Rank I: Power: 70 | Wisdom: 75 | Charisma: 80 Rank II: Power: 90 | Wisdom: 55 | Charisma: 70 (sacrifices wisdom&charisma for power!)

Name origin is partially from the original name for inkay, maaiika meaning "oh well!" and referring to both a demon and demonic squid >:3c

■ "roadside blossom" whose Metagross-palanquin is almost always in motion across the Ransein countryside, a beauty in the day and a beacon in the night… for better or worse

■ 5'0" / stout, plump frame, pear-shaped; ruddy side of pale, full lips lined with plum staining / dull, reddish-pink hair; visible eye is a dark taupe

■ covered eye has a dark sclera and a doubled, yellowed iris; it has perfect nightvision bordering on infrared; able to throw her voice

■ armed with an iron fan, a few hidden blades, and a handful of spiked rings to prevent escape, she's a one-woman highway robbery racquet, often tricking people into thinking she's a noble with poor luck who can repay their kindness - or, if they attack her first, trick them into underestimating her

■ natural doe eyes and pouty lips, combined with a very cute if foreign partner pokemon all cover up sadism and resentment for society at large due to being abandoned as a babe and raised as a foundling to be little more than a bargaining chip

Equal parts encouraging and nerve-wracking. The more people who came to truly understand Ransei's way of life, the better their prospects. But if the visit went poorly...

Well, she didn't want to think about that.

"Champion Gold, it's wonderful to see again. I'm glad to see that you arrived safely. How was your trip?"

Hiroko had ventured out to Fontaine's port to meet their guest upon his arrival. Travel between the kingdoms without any direction was a recipe for disaster, and Motochika... well, she wasn't going to leave him with Fontaine's warlord for especially long. He tended to be... a lot.

#i've been replaying pokémon conquest lately which is why i had this thought dgshdhf #because like. warriors/warlords are said to have a special ability to communicate and link with pokémon #and hideyoshi's story mentions that this is something that ONLY warriors/warlords can do #i don't see why a 'regular' person wouldn't be able to befriend a wild pokémon with enough time and effort #so if this ability to 'communicate' with pokémon is so special and exclusive then it's probably more than just that #maybe it's the same as (or at least similar to) n's unique ability to communicate with pokémon? #like. being able to actually speak to them and understand their words/thoughts instead of just hearing animal noises #and given gracia and ina--two junior warlords who are daughters of other warlords-- #it seems reasonable to say that the warrior ability is at least somewhat hereditary #so!! maybe n inherited his ability to talk to pokémon from an ancestor who was a warrior/warlord in the ransei region #such an ability is unheard of in unova but it wouldn't be too surprising to someone from ransei #that could even add to why n initially disliked pokéballs! ...kind of. maybe not. just because of Timeline Shit #but ye!! just A Thought i had #n harmonia #natural harmonia gropius #pokemon conquest #pokemon

Those damn hunters... they were getting smarter, more desperate, and that was the scariest part. Traps were laid everywhere the eye can see, where there was food, shelter, anywhere that it would've likely sought refuge.

And they finally caught it in one, the metal teeth of a snare digging deep into its leg and immobilizing it. The dragon roared in agony, but it could not afford to yield. Reverting into a Dragonstone was straight up suicide – there was no telling what would happen to it if they found it in such a helpless state.

The next best thing? Its human guise, an option that it near swore off of but had little choice. With a few slashes of his sword he made quick work of the springs of the snare, but he was still bleeding profusely from the leg it translated to.

But Kyurem kept running. A blizzard followed him in his wake as he delved deeper and deeper into the forests. For a moment he felt dizzy, feeling like he was going to pass out from the excursion as his vision and surroundings began to warp. He didn't care, he would press on until his legs finally gave out.

And gave out they did, feet tripping over an exposed root and having him crumple and collapse haphazardly into the underbrush. Ice immediately formed from under him to cushion his fall and protect his broken leg. He tried to roll over to get up, but it was useless.

There was the nearby rustling of footsteps and he froze. Shit, they caught up to him! Panic filled his senses as his immediate surroundings continued to frost over. He gripped his sword again and aimed it directly at the person chasing him.

"Get... Get the hell away from me!" he cried out, voice haggard. In the reflections of the ice formations around him, his shadow was not that of a human figure but of a menacing dragon. He frantically tried to scoot back to intensify the illusion, but to what effect he could not tell. / @ranseiuniter 👁️
