Psalm 147:5 (NIV). “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”
Job 9:4 (NLT). “For God is so wise and so mighty.”
Job 26:14 (NLT). “These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”
Psalm 145:3 (ESV). “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.”
Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV). “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Until you give it to God and let Him take over, you can never truly know just how wise, loving, mighty, powerful and wonderful God is. Not only will mighty God save you, but He'll quiet you with His love and rejoice over you with gladness and loud singing while He does it. Now that is an AWESOME thought! Amen and Hallelujah! 🙌

A academic reflection of Dallas Willard's "Renovation of the Heart"
What book would you recommend? “That’s interesting, I’d like to know something about spirituality. Can you recommend something for me to read that would be helpful?”
Introduction
This essay is framed in the context of Christianity. Spirituality must be viewed from our own lived experience and our weltanschauung[1] and it would be disingenuous to not be authentically Christian and…

“The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 145:14 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honour. I Samuel 2:8
Fallen people are vulnerable to giving up, but are in reality some of the best candidates for God’s grace. You may have been pushed down by the proud and dominant. This is man’s method of control, but the Lord Jesus is always there to lift and uphold you. What God lifts up He supports, sustains and restores for His purposes. Indeed, He lifts us up, so we can be His instruments of encouragement to lift up others.

Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God
1 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Holy, loving, faithful, gracious, compassionate, merciful, longsuffering God, is righteous, just and true, and so are all His judgments, in all the earth.
Thus says the Lord God: "I will take also one of the highest branches of the high cedar and set it out. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it on a high and prominent mountain. On the mountain height of Israel I will plant it; and it will bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a majestic cedar. Under it will dwell birds of every sort; in the shadow of its branches they will dwell."
"And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the LORD, have spoken and have done it." (Ezekiel 17:22-24)
"Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested." (Revelation 15:3-4)

How does God view our problems?
Matthew 6:26-30
Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. God cares about you and your problems.
Psalm 145:14
The Lord helps the fallen and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
Matthew 10:29-31
What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.". God is not only aware of your problems, he wants to help you resolve them. He is with you in them.
1 Peter 5:10
After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
2 Corinthians 4:9
We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.
Hebrews 4:14-16
So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. God will never desert those who follow him. He doesn’t take the day off and forget about you. When you accidentally cut yourself, you become completely focused on how bad it is and on how to stop the bleeding. All you want to do is get rid of the pain. In the same way, your problems and troubles can focus you so much on getting rid of the pain that you neglect God, forgetting that he has promised to help you in your difficulties. But to abandon you, God would have to cease loving you, and he cannot do that, for he is love.
Exodus 4:10-12
But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m just not a good speaker. I never have been, and I’m not now, even after you have spoken to me. I’m clumsy with words.” “Who makes mouths?” the Lord asked him. “Who makes people so they can speak or not speak, hear or not hear, see or not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go, and do as I have told you. I will help you speak well, and I will tell you what to say.”
God specifically addresses your problems with trustworthy, sure solutions. When you take your problems to God, you can rely on him to deal with them. But expect that he will deal with them his way, which is always in your best interests. Often he uses your problems to help you grow.
Acts 8:4
But the believers who had fled Jerusalem went everywhere preaching the Good News about Jesus.
Philippians 1:12-14
And I want you to know, dear friends, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. For everyone here, including all the soldiers in the palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. And because of my imprisonment, many of the Christians here have gained confidence and become more bold in telling others about Christ.
Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
God may use your problems to lead you in a new direction for a new assignment. The closed door of one problem may reveal an open door elsewhere. He can turn your problems into an avenue for his work.

Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle
(Liturgical Colour: Red: A (1))
First Reading
Apocalypse 21:9-14
He showed me Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God out of heaven.
The angel came to speak to me, and said, ‘Come here and I will show you the bride that the Lamb has married.’ In the spirit, he took me to the top of an enormous high mountain and showed me Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God out of heaven. It had all the radiant glory of God and glittered like some precious jewel of crystal-clear diamond. The walls of it were of a great height, and had twelve gates; at each of the twelve gates there was an angel, and over the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel; on the east there were three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. The city walls stood on twelve foundation stones, each one of which bore the name of one of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Gospel
John 1:45-51
You will see heaven laid open, and the Son of Man.
Philip found Nathanael and said to him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, the one about whom the prophets wrote: he is Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.’ ‘From Nazareth?’ said Nathanael ‘Can anything good come from that place?’ ‘Come and see’ replied Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael coming he said of him, ‘There is an Israelite who deserves the name, incapable of deceit.’ ‘How do you know me?’ said Nathanael. ‘Before Philip came to call you,’ said Jesus ‘I saw you under the fig tree.’ Nathanael answered, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel.’ Jesus replied, ‘You believe that just because I said: I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.’ And then he added ‘I tell you most solemnly, you will see heaven laid open and, above the Son of Man, the angels of God ascending and descending.’
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 145:14 'The LORD upholds all who fall and LIFTS UP all who are bowed down.'
Perhaps you feel discouraged, God has not overlooked you. His eyes are ever on you. You are His child and He loves you. He knows what you are going through.
When a person is discouraged, they lack the strength to do or face what they have in front of them. Everything seems hopeless.
Have you ever seen a discouraged person? Sometimes you can even see that their heads are hanging down and their shoulders are drooping.
The Lord sees that you are bowed down and carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
He will come and pick you up and lift up your head so that you can go on in His strength. Even if you have fallen, Jesus will help you out, and uphold you with His righteous right hand.

*Tender Mercies*
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
In the next few devotionals, we'll be learning about the mercy of God.
Today, we'll start with His "tender mercies."
Multiple verses in the Scriptures talk of God's tender mercy.
_"Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they [have been] ever of old" (Psalms 25:6)._
_"Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me" (Psalms 40:1)_
_"Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies..." (Psalms 103:4)_
But what really are His tender mercies?
The Hebrew word for the phrase "tender mercies" is Racham, which means "womb."
Yes, you read right - womb.
It speaks of a mother's love even for a foetus -- right from the womb.
God's tender mercies speak of the love He had for us even when we were not created.
It speaks of the tenderness and kindness of a mother to a child.
Know that you are known, chosen, and loved right from the womb.
Walk out today, knowing He has tender mercies for you.
Further studies: 2 Samuel 24:14; Nehemiah 9:31; Psalms 106:7, 45; 145:9.
