Don't Despise Prophecies
🍽️📖📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🛐🙏
It's easy to despise prophecies.
With many false prophets on the rampage, you can easily look down on anything that sounds like prophecy.
But the Bible warns us against that.
_"Do not despise prophetic utterances..." (1 Thessalonians 5:20)._
You can also be tempted to despise prophecies when it doesn't seem dramatic or spectacular.
A prophecy can come as a simple word or sentence.
Often, it can come in unexpected ways.
As long as it lines up with the word of God and bears witness with your spirit, don't despise it.
You might also despise prophecies because you have received some that haven't come true.
Well, every prophet sees and prophesies in part.
Plus, it could be a matter of time before it comes to pass.
Whatever the case, it doesn't negate prophecies.
Remind yourself of what God has spoken and run with it.
Further Studies: 1 Corinthians 12:28; 13:9; 14:1, 3-6; Ephesians 4:11-12.

The Greatest Prophecy
🍽️📖📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🛐🙏
Has someone ever told you details about yourself that they wouldn't know except by a revelation from God?
Have you ever had events that confirmed what God was saying to you?
Prophecy is real.
God still speaks.
God still reveals.
But here's what you need to know about prophecy. The best prophecy is the word of God.
Before you start looking out for the latest prophet in town, go to the word of God.
Read the Scriptures. You'll be amazed that they talk about you and describe your future.
_"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19)._
Do you want to hear from God?
Read the Bible.
Meditate on it.
You'll hear God through the Word.
Any prophecy from someone that doesn't align with the word of God should be thrown away.
God's word is the greatest prophecy.
What prophecy from God are you conscious of?
Further Studies: Psalms 18:28; 19:7-9; 119:105; 2 Corinthians 4:4-6; Ephesians 5:13; John 8:12.

Jonathan Goforth
_Knights of the Kingdom Series_
🛐📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈 🛐
Jonathan Goforth became the foremost missionary revivalist in early twentieth-century China and helped to establish revivalism as a major element in Protestant China missions.
He grew up on an Ontario farm, the seventh of eleven children. Hearing G. L. Mackay, Presbyterian missionary to Formosa (Taiwan), speak, he sensed God’s call to go to China. Attending Knox College for training, Goforth met Rosalind Bell-Smith at the Toronto Union Mission.
She had been born in London, England, and had grown up in Montreal. They married in 1887 and eventually had eleven children, six of whom survived childhood. They pioneered the North Honan (Henan) mission in 1888.
In 1900, the Goforths barely escaped the Boxers (a Chinese anti-imperial and anti-foreigner rebel army) and returned to Canada. After their return to Honan in 1901, Jonathan Goforth felt increasingly restless.
In 1904 and 1905, he was inspired by news of the great Welsh revival and read Finney’s "Lectures on Revivals." In 1907, circumstances brought him to witness firsthand the stirring Korean revival (When the Spirit’s Fire Swept Korea [1943] representing His response). As he returned to China through Manchuria, congregations were so fascinated by his accounts that they invited him back in early 1908.
During this extended visit there occurred the unprecedented “Manchurian revival,” which transformed Goforth’s life and ministry; from then on he was basically an evangelist and revivalist, not a settled missionary. He also became one of the best known of all China missionaries, admired by many, but disliked by some for his “emotionalism.”
Goforth remained active well into the 1930s, especially in Manchuria; in 1931 the Goforths coauthored, "Miracle Lives of China." After his death in Toronto, Rosalind, a capable writer who had first published in 1920, wrote the popular "Goforth of China" (1937, with many reprints), and her own autobiography, "Climbing: Memories of a Missionary’s Wife (1940)."

Why Plans Fail
🍽️📖📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🛐🙏
I call the book of Proverbs the book of answers.
The reason is simple: the book answers questions even before you have a chance to ask them.
In Proverbs 15, the writer answers on of the most important questions ever asked: why do plans fail?
Here's your answer:
_"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed" (Proverbs 15:22)._
Think about that for a moment.
Simply put, you shouldn't make plans without counsel.
Let's say you want to build a house, you need many counselors: finance experts, architects, building contractors among others.
The counsel you receive will determine what you build.
Now think about the most important thing you're building: your life.
Do you have counsel for your life?
Do you have advisors?
Do you have people who can question your actions and motives?
Before you make any plans, think about people in that field who can help and guide you.
Talk to them before you set out.
You'll be amazed at how many mistakes you can avoid that way.
Further Studies: Proverbs 1:5; 11:14; 19:20-21; 20:18; 2 Chronicles 10; Luke 14:28-30.

*You Were Born For A Time Like This*
🍽️📖📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🛐🙏
Esther must have thought she was born in the worst time possible.
She was born into a period where the Jews were in oppression.
In fact, they were a whisker away from being decimated altogether.
Esther did have favor from the king, but she was now caught in a dilemma. How does she help her people without losing the goodwill of the king?
Mordecai minced no words in letting Esther know her assignment.
_"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance from the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14)_
You might be wondering why you are alive at a time when things are difficult and the world seems to be going off the rails.
Well, you were born for such a time as this.
Regardless of the problem you face, God has made you a solution.
Think like that and you'll soon begin to enjoy the victorious place of God in your life

*George Grenfell*
_Knights of the Kingdom Series_
🛐📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈 🛐
George Grenfell was born at Sancreed, near Penzance, Cornwall.
In 1875 he went as a Baptist missionary to Cameroon, West Africa, with Alfred Saker (1814–80), and thereafter did some exceedingly important work in exploring little-known rivers of the Congo Basin. In 1877 he removed to Victoria and explored the Wouri River and in the following year he ascended Mongo ma Loba Mountain.
In 1881, cooperating with the Rev. T. J. Comber and others, he established a chain of missions at Musuko, Vivi, Isangila, Manyanga, and other points, and in 1884, in a small steam vessel, he explored the Congo to the equator.
He established headquarters at Arthington, near Leopoldville, in 1884, and launched on Stanley Pool a river steam vessel, the Peace, in which he explored the Kiva, the Kwango, and the Kasai rivers, and discovered the Ruki.
He was awarded in 1887 the Patron's Gold Medal of the Royal Geographical Society for his explorations in the Cameroons and Congo.
From 1893 to 1900 Grenfell remained chiefly at Bolobo on the Congo, where a strong mission station was established.
After a visit to England in 1900, he started a systematic exploration of the Aruwimi River and by November 1902 had reached Mawambi, about eighty miles from the western extreme of the Uganda protectorate.
Between 1903 and 1906 Grenfell was busy with a new station at Yalemba, establishing mission stations and exploring the Congo.
His work opened up that part of Africa to the Gospel and many lives were transformed because of his sacrifice. By exploring the Congo, he opened it up for development and fought against the evil Belgian administration. Grenfell died after a bad attack of blackwater fever at Basoko on 1 July 1906.

Forgive
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Forgiveness is life!
Just think about it for a moment. Without forgiveness, you wouldn't be born again.
Jesus came to this earth to buy our pardon, to get forgiveness for all of our sins — every single one of them.
In the same vein, we are called to forgive.
To forgive is to let go. It is to release someone from your heart. It is to stop expecting someone to pay for something they did to you.
Here's the thing: regardless of how wonderful you are, people will offend you.
As the Scriptures say "offence must needs come..."
So if you don't have forgiveness ready to go, you'll suffer lots of pain and hurt. You'll carry so much bitterness for years.
If you are struggling to forgive, consider Jesus. Consider how much you've been forgiven and it will make it easier for you to forgive others.
When you do this, you'll be able to forgive as Jesus forgave us.
_"Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others" (Colossians 3:13)._
Further studies: Ephesians 4:2-3, 31-32; Matthew 5:44-48; Luke 17:3-4.

Love is Forgiveness
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
When you tell someone, "I love you," you have also said "I will forgive you."
Love is forgiveness.
You cannot love someone and never forgive.
It's the person walking closest to you that's likely to step on your toes.
That person will offend you more than a lot of people.
And because of love, even the smallest things can hurt more than usual.
That's why you should be ready to forgive.
Think of Jesus and His love for us. What did He accomplish for us on the cross? Forgiveness of sins.
He was the lamb that took away all our sins. He purchased eternal redemption and forgiveness for us.
Whether your friend, partner, or colleague, you must be ready to overlook some things.
Don't hold grudges for long. Bitterness tends to make a home in your heart when you do that.
Practice the art of expressing your concerns, if any, with respect.
Always be the first to forgive. You might also need to be the first to apologize. However, if the offence bothers on abuse or exploitation, you can forgive alright, but it doesn't mean you have to hang out with the person.
Love forgives!
Further Studies: Ephesians 4:32; 5:1-2; Colossians 3:12-13; 1 Peter 3:8-9; 1 John 3:14-20.

Vengeance Belongs to the Lord
💔📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🙏
One of the reasons people struggle to forgive is because they want the people who hurt them to suffer.
Of course, if the person committed a crime, that person must face the rigors of the law.
However, ultimate vengeance belongs to the Lord.
I'll let the scriptures do all the talking today:
*Romans 12:17-21 NLT‬*
_Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. ‭Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone._
_‭Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord._
_‭Instead, "if your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”_
_‭Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good."_
Convinced?
It's time to stop plotting and planning, and leave vengeance to God. If the person deserves to pay, God will take care of that.
Yours is to forgive and move on.
Further Studies: Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 5:38-39; 1 Thessalonians 4:6; 5:15; 1 Peter 3:9.

Christ Has Forgiven You Much
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Are you struggling to forgive anyone?
I have a simple hack to help you forgive.
The secret is to remember how much Christ has forgiven you.
In Matthew 18:23-33, Jesus speaks of the parable of the unforgiving servant.
This servant was forgiven of so much debt.
However, after being forgiven, He went ahead to imprison someone who owed him so little.
In the parable, the King who had forgiven him said:
_‭"...You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?" (Matthew 18:32-33)._
Would you want to be the unforgiving servant?
I hope not.
If Jesus can forgive you of all your sins, no matter how grave, you should be able to forgive others too.
_"Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32)._
Further Studies: Matthew 6:14-15; Luke 6:37; 17:3-4; Mark 11:25.

Forgive Others
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
You've probably been told to forgive others many times.
But it sounds like a disadvantage sometimes, right?
Forgiveness sounds like letting someone go scot-free without any consequence.
Well, forgiveness is not for the other person. It is for you.
Forgiveness cleanses you of all the things that can destroy you: bitterness, anger, hatred, malice, and envy.
Forgiveness purges your spirit and makes you whole.
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32).
There's grace to let go of anything you've been holding on to.
Forgive others. It will do you a world of good!
Further Studies: Matthew 18:21-35; Luke 17:3-4; Colossians 3:13.

*Be Strong*
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Feeling weak?
Feeling discouraged?
Feeling like the rug has been pulled from under your feet?
Do you feel like not doing anything at all?
Well, there's a strength deficit somewhere.
In the Bible, strength is not merely physical. It's spiritual, mental and emotional.
And strength comes from God.
_"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6)._
Knowing that God is always with you is the source of strength.
It gives hope and joy.
It brings peace and focus.
If you feel your strength zapped, get close to God.
Spend more time with Him.
You'll find that your store of strength will quickly be restored.
Let me leave you with one more verse.
_"It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure" (2 Samuel 22:33)._
Further Studies: Psalm 27:1; 46:1; Isaiah 40:29-31; 41:10; Philippians 4:13.

*Jesus Brought You Peace*
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Peace.
Perfect peace.
Peace with God and peace with man. Peace amid troubles. This has been one of man's greatest needs.
On the cross, Jesus gave peace to everyone who needed it.
No wonder, in His parting words, He left the disciples with peace.
_"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27)._
Jesus brought us peace with God. We are no longer at loggerheads. You and God are not fighting.
God is perfectly at peace with you.
_"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1)._
What about my sins? You might ask.
Jesus took all of them. He paid fully for every sin.
Sin is no longer a problem. Walk closely with the Lord and the fangs of sin will fall off.
Today, walk in the consciousness of peace: God's perfect peace!
Further Studies: Colossians 1:20; 3:15; Isaiah 9:6; Ephesians 2:14-17; Psalm 91:5.

*Jesus Died to Bring You Life*
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Have you read John 3:16?
I bet you have. It's one of the most famous verses in the Bible.
But have you really read it? Have you thought about the words in that verse?
_"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."_
Let's focus on the last part for today.
_"...have eternal life!"_
Jesus came to bring you life.
In fact, He said it in plain language.
_"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10)._
In Christ you have life.
You have the God-kind of life: the very nature of God.
Your life should not be full of gloom. On the contrary, you should be full of life always!
Speak life. Walk in life. Enjoy life.
Further Studies: Romans 5:13-21; John 6:33, 51; 1 John 2:25; 5:13.

*Ronnie and Anita Smith*
_Knights of the Kingdom Series_
🛐📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈 🛐
On the 5th of December 2013, Ronnie Smith was gunned down in Libya. Ronnie was a young American teacher who along with his wife, gave up their comfort and security to head to Libya for sake of the Gospel. They went to Libya with their infant son.
Following Ronnie's death, much grief and media attention turned to Anita and her infant son. When CBS news asked her if she thought it was a mistake to go to Libya, she replied:
"We knew beforehand that Libya's not safe, We still wanted to go somewhere where we wanted to bless the people. We were doing this because we wanted to follow what God has for us, and that's to show the Libyan people His love and His forgiveness."
Despite the tragic loss she had this to say to her husband's attackers: "I love them. And I forgive them, and I have nothing against them."
Anita's heartfelt letter to the people of Libya following her husbands death has shocked the world demonstrating the power of God's endless love. This letter is filled with gracious words about a Christian's response to these challenges. Her perspective of love despite the loss is mind blowing.

SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES
🪴📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈🌴
Every word in Scripture is like a seed. When you sow it in your heart with meditation and pondering, water it with rapt attention, and prune it with questionings and research in the Holy Spirit, it will bloom with revelation and insight causing you to bear the fruit of the spirit.
This is what Martin Luther did. He took the seed of Romans 1:17 and meditated, researched and listened to the Holy Spirit. With that he changed the history of Christianity. When asked how he read his Bible, he replied,
"I study my Bible like I gather apples. First, I shake the whole tree that the ripest may fall. Then I shake each limb, and when I have shaken each limb, I shake each branch and every twig. Then I look under every leaf. I search the Bible as a whole like shaking the whole tree. Then I shake every limb -- study book after book. Then I shake every branch, giving attention to the chapters. Then I shake every twig, or a careful study of the paragraphs and sentences and words and their meanings."
Assuming you are studying about a verse or a chapter, you can look at the context, historical background, maps, culture of the people, Greek/Hebrew words used and the depth of meanings, etc.
_"...If thou seekest her (wisdom from the word) as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:4-5 KJV)._
I'll want to recommend some Bible softwares for you. You can find an awesome app for deep Bible study called "mysword" for mobile devices. Softwares like PC Study Bible, Powerbible or Esword for the computer.
