The Bible says, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6). Apostle Paul wrote: “There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside” (Romans 3:10-12). That is why Jesus came. We would never seek Him, but He came seeking us. Jesus said, “I have come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
Jesus came to find us, for we could never have found Him if left to ourselves. We were wayward and wandering in our own way, but Jesus cared enough to seek after us. It is a clear expression of God’s love for us that He pursues us and desires to make us His own.

Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12
Consider Jesus Christ.  His was the greatest life that was lived on the earth. Everyone who has ever been called great pales by comparison to the greatness of Jesus. Greatness in God’s eyes has nothing to do with pomp or being famous in the world’s eyes or having a lot of money.  Being great in God’s sight is to do what God called you to do.  The only greatness in life is what is done for Christ, even in the midst of humble circumstances.
We cannot have greatness in ourselves, but only as God works through us.  We can do great things for God as we are led by Him.  Let the Holy Spirit work in you and lead you to do something great.  That’s the amazing thing about knowing Jesus Christ.  Every day you can do something great with Him and through Him.

I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. Psalm 91:2-4
Assuredly no subtle plot shall succeed against the one who has the eyes of God watching for his defense, we are foolish and weak as poor little birds, and are very apt to be lured to our destruction by cunning foes, but if we dwell near to God, He will see to it that the most skillful deceiver shall not entrap us and no plague will come nigh our dwelling.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort." 2 Corinthians 1:3
The word, "father", to some brings a sense of security, but to others it may stir up feelings of hate or even fear, perhaps because of some kind of abuse they had endured in the past. When my earthly father remarried after the death of my mother, I longed for his love and attention. You know God sees our deepest pain and hurt. He whispered to me, I am your true father. You have no father but Me." Oh, it was like pouring cold water on my wounded soul. I have since not longed for my dad's love like I used to. I truly embraced Jesus as my Father, and have depended on Him for every need of mine, whether spiritual, physical or emotional. He's never failed me, He's been with me in trouble, He's delivered me, He's provided for all my needs, He's given me peace and joy in the midst of storms.
Dear friend, if you haven't trusted God as your father, I urge you to do so today.
I assure you, you will truly be able to enter into His rest and be comforted.

The woman at the well mentioned in John 4 is a woman who had deep longing which she was trying to fulfill with all the wrong things. She thought that her longing would be satisfied in marriage. Alas! She felt even more empty. Five marriages didn't help, perhaps she thought, a live-in relationship would be more satisfying. Consumed by guilt and shame, she went to the well. It was midday, perhaps not wanting to run into any known faces. Jesus met her there!
Today, perhaps you too are living with an unfulfilled longing or a quashed dream, and you are tired of waiting. That longing will remain as long as we live. Only Jesus can fill that void, that longing. Jesus said, “‘But those who drink the water I give, will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life’” (John 4:14).
I do hope that God grants you the desires of your heart but it's even better when He fills the deep longings of our hearts with His Spirit, (the living water). We will never be left wanting and thirsting. We will be satisfied as a weaned child in the bosom of its mother.

Read Amos 4
When I read this passage, I get the sense that God is willing to go to great lengths to win His people's hearts and get them to turn to Him. There is a real sense of desperation. Five times He says, “Yet you have not returned to Me.”
In Amos 4, You see God disciplining His people in various ways- through starvation, drought, plague etc…why? Because He wanted His children to return to Him and be safe under His care. He knew, away from Him, they would be in danger. They’d fall into idolatry or run after financial gain, fall into terrible snares, which would destroy them.
Has God been trying to get your attention in some way?  He wants you to come to Him, He longs to gather you as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Would you respond to Him today?

When it comes to the battles we face, anyone can walk away. It takes no courage to walk away. It’s a lot less painful to turn our backs and leave. We may not have the courage to face up to the enemy. But our God provides a well of strength that we can draw from anytime we need. He gives courage to all who say “I cannot do this alone.”
Jesus assures us that the war won’t be easy but promises us that if we trust in Him He will fight the battle for us and let us share in the victory. Don’t give up.  Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. Exodus 14:13

Nobody speaks of sin anymore. In fact, sin has almost disappeared from our vocabulary. We speak of sins as problems, issues, a sickness or it is someone else’s fault. But the Bible says very plainly that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. (1 John 1:8).
How serious is it? Paul said, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). We sin because it’s our nature. And we sin by choice.
God is holy and He cannot co-exist with sinful man. The cross is the only place that God will meet with mankind. The cross is the only place where both God’s mercy and God’s justice could meet. How can God be a God of love and a God of justice at the same time? How can the holy and perfect God meet with sinful, rebellious man? Only at the cross! Jesus Christ came, took our punishment, washed us clean with His precious blood and then He declared you and me righteous and gave us eternal life.

When you ask God for something, He may say no, and you may think that God is so unfair. He seems to be blessing everyone around you, and He hardly seems to hear you. You feel even more miserable when you see other people having fun, and you are the only one who is lonely and sad. But did you ever consider that God has something better for you?
Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."
See, that is why you should never be afraid to commit your unknown future to a known God. You should never be afraid to say, "Your will be done." The Lord who made the heavens and the earth has you in the palm of His hands. Jesus loves you and has the best in store for you, that is even more than you could ever ask or imagine.

Psalm 34:5
‘Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.’
There is something different about people who trust in the Lord Jesus. As they trust in Him, something about the way they look changes. People around them begin to see the change in them. There is peace and joy instead of despair and hopelessness. That’s because they don’t look at their circumstances, but look to Jesus in every situation. The verse, "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You." (Isaiah 26:3), is true of them.
PRAYER: Lord, I lift up my eyes, above the troubles that are around me, and I look to You. You are my hope, You are my salvation and You are the One Who comes and lifts up my head. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I constantly remember you in my prayers. (2 Timothy l:3)
There are times when we are in sad shape because of illness or life circumstances and we need the prayers of others to hold us up and encourage us. We may not even be able to pray in our own behalf because of our situation, that is when I believe God calls Christians to pray on behalf of others. This kind of praying requires commitment on the part of the person doing the praying. It is not just a quick one time prayer, but rather a request that is brought before the Lord many times until the person being prayed for sees results.
Let’s remember to pray for others. It’s a great privilege to enter God’s presence and intercede for them. Our prayers may be the very thing that God will use to see them through their crisis.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14
Mercy is best understood when we have experienced it. We simply may not realize what the Lord has done for us, the high price He’s paid, until we’ve pardoned someone who wronged us.
We are eager to be forgiven but hesitate to forgive, our human nature struggles with it. But with God’s help we can.
Father, help me to forgive those that I need to forgive. It is not easy, but through You I can do anything. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Ephesians 6:16 'Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.'
The enemy wants to see us destroyed and rendered powerless. But the Lord has given us the tools to take a stand and walk in victory.
We have the shield of faith and it can put out the fiery darts of the enemy. Stand firm, hold onto your faith and see the flaming arrows extinguished.
PRAYER: Lord, with the eyes of my heart, I see how the attempts of the evil one to destroy me are being reduced to ashes. I take the shield of faith and I see how You cause me to walk on the high places You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalm 68:19
Many a times when situations seem overwhelming, it feels like we are carrying the burden all by ourselves, but that's not true. Our Lord is our burden bearer. He not only bears our sins, (1 Peter 2:24, "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross.") but our anxieties as well. (1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.") When George Mueller was asked how he could be so calm with so many uncertainties in the orphanage, he answered, "I rolled sixty things onto the Lord this morning." Would you go to Jesus and lay your burdens at His feet and walk away free knowing He cares for you?

God said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ Then Moses said to Him, ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here’” (Exodus 33:14-15). Moses knew it was God’s presence among them that set them apart from all other nations. The same is true of God’s people today. The only thing that sets us apart is God’s presence “with us,” leading us, guiding us, working His will in and through us.  The only source of protection is God’s presence with us and fear has no place in the life of a believer.  When His presence is in our midst no one can destroy us, no harm will come nigh our tent. But without Him we are helpless and defenceless. As we go out and come in, thank God for the nearness and closeness of Jesus.

‭‭1 Timothy 4:8
For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Today, people are focused on keeping their body healthy by eating the right kind of food and exercising regularly. That's a good thing. We have to take care of our bodies, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. But do we give equal importance to our spiritual well-being? The Bible says, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:7-8). And again, Proverbs 4:20-22 describes the life that comes through studying and living by God’s Word:
“My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”
Let's learn to strike a balance between taking care of our physical bodies and nurturing our spiritual well-being.
Would we feed on the word of God and spend time with the Lord Jesus every day?
Pray: Dear Lord, Teach me to take care of my body as well as my soul, so that I could be a useful vessel in Your hand. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When I started my journey as a parent, I assumed that if I brought my children up in the Lord, they would follow Jesus as I did. Every parent wants their child to truly love the Lord Jesus and want them to walk with Him as early in life as possible. It's not always the case. I have seen many prayerful parents facing trials because of rebellious children. If you are one of them, I want to encourage you, God's ears are inclined to your cry, He will answer your prayers. In my case, God eventually did answer my prayers and transformed my children to love and follow Jesus and serve Him alone.
Parenting has humbled me significantly. It has made me less judgmental and more sympathetic with those struggling with rebellious children. It has given me a burden to pray for such children. One thing I can assure you, if you ask, you will receive. But we will never know God's timetable, but that, He will surely do it. So, let us not give up praying for our children.
