yknow what i absolutely love about dghda? how socially unaware all the former blackwing subjects are. like these guys have no clue what to do in normal society and that absolutely makes sense

dirk is the most well adjusted out of all of the ones we know of and even he climbs into this random guy's apartment through the window, immediately calls him his assistant and then declares that he lives there now. he's clueless. he wants friends but he doesn't know how to talk to people, even after 16 years lived in freedom

and then there's bart and the rowdy 3

bart doesn't know how radios and tvs work, nor what hotels are. all she's known her whole life is blackwing labs and the fact that she's supposed to kill people. so that's what she does. she doesn't know how to talk to people, she just goes with the flow

and of course the rowdy 3, the absolute icons. unlike dirk, who wants to be a part of society, and bart, who really doesn't care, they actively reject social norms. they saw punk culture and ran with it. they're rude, violent and, well, rowdy. and they like that. but they're also stupid in the way that you would be if you grew up in a lab with (probably) next to no real education. none of them have any functioning braincells or social grace and that works for them

i didn't talk about mona or francis/moloch bc we don't really have a real frame of reference for either of them. mona is an inanimate object 99% of the time and francis has been in a coma for several decades

“Jesus, Jack,” Davey groans when Jack releases his lower lip from between his teeth⁠—from between his fangs, Davey mentally corrects, noting the change with a quiet thrill. “I thought you didn’t want to dance?”

Jack’s hands slip lower, one curling around his hip, the other splaying wide and possessive over the small of Davey’s back. “Changed my mind.”

“Oh?” Davey murmurs, curling his fingers through Jack’s belt loops to draw him closer even as their hips continue to sway to the beat. “And why’s that, I wonder?”

“One’a life’s great mysteries,” Jack says, leaning in to kiss along Davey’s jaw. “Why would I want an armful of the prettiest guy in the room? The world may never know.”

“You think I’m pretty?” Davey asks, pitching his voice to something soft and sultry, batting his lashes just so.

Jack’s eyes narrow, his grip around Davey’s hips tightening that much more.

“You’re a menace,” he growls, and god, he’s so easy to rile this close to the full moon. Davey has to bite his lip to keep himself from smirking. “Don’t think I don’t know exactly what you’re doin’.”

“So, you don’t think I’m pretty?” Davey pouts.

Jack tilts his head and catches Davey’s mouth in another kiss, deep and dominating.

“I think,” he says against Davey’s still-parted lips, his voice low and rough, “that you’re the most gorgeous creature on the face of this Earth. An’ I think you’re gonna regret teasin’ me like this when we get home.”

“And I think,” Davey replies, a little breathlessly, looping his arms around Jack’s neck and bringing their foreheads together, “that isn’t as much of a threat as you probably think it is.”

Baki Fantasy AU Art: Day 3

The spicy boy is finally ready, and no it’s not to early in the day to see sexy man Hector Doyle. While he is SFW, he is workin’ the outfit. This again is based on the fantasy AU concepts by @yandere-writer-momo, where she rightly points out that Doyle would be an incubus. I think I love drawing men in corsets and it’s gonna give me inspiration for the eventual Jack Hanma as the White King design I’m gonna make. I also really hope you like Doyle in this one since I had to make this on the family iPad without anyone noticing 👀. I would certainly have some explaining to do.

I Caved

I cast a vote so I could see how the poll was doing, and the results are about what I expected. It also roughly correlates to how much time I spent designing each one, so maybe there's something to that.

But, regardless of *why* the results are this way, it seems like Ice came out on top, so if I ever get around to that project, I guess it'll focus on him~

Thanks for voting everybody~ The poll is still open if you want to try and change things, but I don't see Ice being usurped any time soon.

#confession: #i'd actually done a couple of extra sketches of Ice #beforehand because i was already pre-planning this project before i even posted about kliff #the original poll was going to be 'should my next doll be a fandom character or an OC?' #but i didn't have any OCs that fit the body type or any fandom characters that i was interested in making right now #well i considered mike hatsu/ne but i didn't want to end up with TWO old man dolls #so i designed Ice as the OC candidate #but somewhere along the line i decided that i wanted it to be an OC no matter what but i wanted other options just in case #so then i quickly designed 2 more guys for him to go up against #but i only had the one sketch sesh with the other 2 #so they just aren't as developed as Ice #actually. Ice didn't even start as ice cream themed #i only added the sprinkles so they could all vaguely be related to food #he was originally just an incubus with a retro diner theme (which I guess is still food themed but nothing specific) #i went with ice cream because even though it wasn't intentional #he's kinda got a bas/kin robbins color scheme going on #anyway. i'm not disappointed that he won #but i feel like he just isn't that ambitious for me in terms of design (which is probably also why he turned out the best) #literally almost everything about him has an element from another design/character i've already made #hearts from kun3h0/GAB. retro diner from the malt shop 10/10s. #pink/blue color scheme from Carol (and several others) #the hairstyle is from a couple of old OCs #he's just an amalgamation of so many things i've already done #but at least it wasn't a total wipeout #ube was someone's favorite of the three so i must've done something right #even for the 'worst' one #so i'll still try to refine all 3 and keep them around #as my 4-5 year obsession with NSR is finally starting to wind down a little #and no other fandom to replace it (yet) #i'm getting a little more interested in developing my OCs
