anyways, i'm not going to say tim is a paragon of sensitivity or anything, because he's not, but i do think the graysons' death is an area where he does actively try to at least be somewhat delicate and sensitive about discussing it.

like he very much actively does not want to have to tell dick how he knows, and he's very apologetic that bringing it up is hurtful to dick.

like honestly. this is actually a very neutral way of telling the story. very bare bones. "it was the best day of my life. then your parents died." which. is objectively true?? and tim is still very apologetic, especially when he realizes how he might be coming across. like. idk. obviously dick is the center of this tragedy, but it is fundamentally like. a super, super terrible and traumatizing thing for a child of indeterminate age (anywhere from 2-7) to witness a death, not just in general, but at a happy place like a circus. hell. it was fundamentally terrible for the adults at the circus to witness this death, bruce and jack and janet and every single person in that audience included. and while it's a little cringey that tim is narrating the worst day to dick's life to dick, this conversation only even came up because dick brought it up to begin with.

and at this point dick and tim have known each other for almost a decade in real time and have been explicitly written as brothers for probably about 4 years real time, so dick probably genuinely doesn't mind talking about this with tim. i do like the idea of how this probably progresses for dick over time. like, at first, dick is probably super, super annoyed at this thirteen year old kid who wormed his way into dick's personal tragedy but then as dick gets to know him and love him and that's his little brother now-

like how much it must crush dick (now that he knows and loves tim) that tim had to experience the same horrible thing that happened to dick and that dick's parent's death happening is what ended up bringing the two of them back together again eventually.

#dick and tim #realistically haly's circus probably went broke because their liability insurance #had to cover therapy for a full house audience that night #unless they wanted to be sued into oblivion by everyone else in that audience that night #jack and janet were probably the most sympathetic parents there tbh they sent dick the photo and then proceded to never speak of it again #i'm sure like 75% of the rest of the audience were not as sympathetic because their kids were traumatized from this event #anyways we have acquaintances whose children did witness someone accidentally dying in front of them at a young age #and they were very affected by the tragedy and they were very much considered victims of the tragedy merely by witnessing it

When I think of Daniel's time at McLaren, I think the entirety of it is epitomised in the moments after the checkered flag in AD22.

Daniel gave his whole teenage and adult years to the sport and in the end he was disposed of so callously, without the finality or dignity of retirement nor the certainty of return. Instead after he sold and cultivated the popularity of the sport, after he spent his whole career hounded by cameras- he found a quiet corner on a dark track and did donuts alone to celebrate the remnants of his legacy, now literally only known to himself after his reputation was so thoroughly dismantled.

He then got out of the car and smiled at the cameras again and those wretched fucking vultures who built careers off of him asked him if he'd even fit into an f1 car if a seat was available next year and all he said in return was "I've been having trouble keeping weight", also with a smile.

This is a complete crack idea. However: dp/dc au where Danny is Alfred. He found out that he is 1) Immortal and 2) can shapeshift and he's just been randomising his customisation settings ever since. When he goes into butler work for the Waynes he decides to be as stereotypical as possible figuring it'll be really funny for the few years he works for them, and the bit is indeed Very Good- right up until their son gets orphaned. It's been 30 years and now the bit is just his life. 

#No one remembers it but for the first few years Alfred worked for the Waynes sometimes the food came to life #Bruce looking through an old photo album: Alfred what's the weird blur in this picture? #Dany sweating bullets: Sir that was the revolution of '83 and we Do Not Talk About It #Danny watching Bruce sketch out designs for a batsuit and being fully convinced it's karma for stressing Jazz out in his teens #He'd tell B to go to therapy but he'd be a hypocrite. anyways the animators did a great job of making cxs look tired and depressed as fuck in the second season. the changes to his appearance themselves are very subtle but like the whole thing is so noticeable to me.

like for the majority of season 1, he's super expressive. the only time we see him with a more stoic expression is the day after he exits chen xiao's photo, and he goes back to his usual self after the case with dou dou

but with season 2, with the exception of episodes 1 and 2 bc those were emotional rides, his expression is very diluted most of the time. he almost looks like he's in a daze half the time. his eyes aren't really alert anymore and he's definitely not as energetic as he was. sure he cracks a few jokes occasionally but it's not near as much as during the first season
