I've decided to finally start watching an anime I've been keeping in my watchlist for almost 9 years at this point 😅 It's an anime called Majin Bone that was released back in 2014 (so it's almost 10 yo 😳), but I discovered it during the summer of 2015 after listening to its opening themes.
Unfortunately, though, this anime is pretty obscure (at least here in the West) and when I tried to search for fanfictions of it on ao3 I've found absolutely nothing and the site doesn't even seem to have a section about it in its fandom list 😭 But at least I could find some fanarts of it on pixiv 😌
those 2011 pics remind me of hard the McLaren race suits used to fuck, I loved the vodafone era suits so much 🥹
YES AGREED!!! I love the Vodafone McLaren livery, literally peak!!!!!
Thank you for sending this ask bcs now I get to talk about 2011 in particular. There were these special Saturday race suits and they're all so pretty!!! Hugo Boss did a design competition to celebrate their partnership with McLaren and different artists made different designs for the Quali days. They're so beautiful 🥹🥹 Why can't they do anything fun like that now???? I digress, I went through all the Qualis and compiled pics of all of them!!
My most cursed fixation is Blood C because its cursed in all senses of the word (please bear in mind i use cursed as an endearment i love it), it was born from Blood franchise which started with the film, then Blood+ was done, a MUCH more successful and generally well regarded anime. Which is admit is pretty good
And then CLAMP, ya know the studio behind Card Captor Sakura, the people who made everyone in Code Geass look like twinks, also people who did xxxHolic (four lovelie ladies btw own the studio, i love it)
Made an adaptation after all these adaptations, and they all aren’t connected. And somehow, Blood C evokes a feeling that it should have been a survival horror. I shit you not, it has the dichotomy of “normal school life by day, killing mosters by night” but also every frame is soaked in the uncanny valley feeling. Everything is so quiet. Like to me it reminds me of Resident Evil a little bit, or Forbidden Siren if anyone is familiar. I dont want to spoil anything but its so fucking good. And its only 12 episodes and it works perfectly as it is. I once made a dude watch it with me all the way because i need it crave more people to know about this bullshit. Its such a great fucking show. Its gorey, its perfect, it has a love triangle, massacre, some good old family bonding. It’s such a well fucking done horror i cant. Genuinely, they did such a good job of making it just plain weird and offputting and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA also then there is a sequel film which is so gay. Just two girls processing their issues with their fathers am i right. God. Fzirkcienxkencienf
What's an obscure interest that you have that maybe not many people know of or have heard of? >w>
Tenkai Knights, a beloved from younger days, right up there with Beyblade and Pokemon. It's got pretty low rating apparently? which is sad from what i remember of it, it's hilarious, and the concept was pretty unique and fun too. It's both a magical and a mecha; the boys transformed into the mechas, plus a short transformation sequence! And when they were mechas, they could combine into things like bigger mechas and planes. There were/are 2 main/major points of disappointment though, and they're (sadly) easy fixes too, so I wonder how they got overlooked when the writers were going at it (i still get a little worked up when i think about them too often, UGH). Also the show turns 10 this year!!!! Happy birthday to my favorite magical boys <3
ah fuck thats right i have to see family tomorrow. hey whats the worst anime i should recommend to my 14 year old cousin. my list with 200 is making it hard to choose
for a long while when I'd visit my relatives on the chesapeake for a brief respite from the hells of home life, there was an odd beat-up little cardboard box sitting amid the plastic-cased ds games in the gamestop I'd always visit (rarely to actually get anything)
finally, one time before the journey back to hell, i actually had a scattering of bills in my pocket. after looking around at the shelves of shovelware (i didnt have enough for any of the proper titles like mario or pokemon), i finally decided to bring the story to a close and give the ragged little box a home
it was Sola-to-Robo, one of the rarest ds games ever published, possibly the most technically advanced engine ever devised on the system, and among the most unique and emotional experiences I'd ever encountered in a video game (which is saying something considering I'd already all but lost emotion by that point)
i barely remember it anymore, but for the time it became my favorite standalone game of all time (although it technically is part of a series, succeeding the PS1's equally obscure Tail Concerto)
I still dream of returning to it and seeing just how well it holds up from a more experienced point of view
the one thing i do remember is that it had and still has by far the most beautiful and powerful opening song of any game ive ever encountered, which is saying something considering the hundreds out there! it's up there with Atelier Meruru's Cadena
also the fact that when you beat the game, after the credits it goes "chapter 2" and there's an entire sequel within the game. altogether both parts are probably not longer than any other rpg, but on the original ds where full 3d action rpgs were resource intensive and typically limited in scope, it was mindblowing
also it apparently had like undefeatable copy-protection and to this day still requires a modified rom to emulate or even run on original hardware without a card?
anyways.... remarkable game. i was shocked to find that it's one of the most sought after titles on the system. in rarities ive personally enountered it's second probably only to Retro Game Challenge, which I encountered at regular price once in the late 2010s but didnt have the money for at the time... that's my "one that got away"
Being autistic and having a special interest (or just a thing I’m newly getting into) that’s super mainstream is so weird. Antihero by taylor swift just came on the radio and I was like YALL HAVE U HEARD HER!!!! Yes they have heard her she’s taylor fucking swift!! Calm down!!
As you all know, I still love KnY very much (so much, that I still have other related projects). But since I haven't been drawing that much recently, I decided to start a no-pressure 30-days drawing challenge.
I will be drawing a single character from a different anime for 30 days. I have listed 26 animes that I've watched and liked over the years, and 4 free days to take suggestions. The 30 days may not be completely consecutive since I will probably take Sundays off.
I will tag each drawing with the name of the character and anime, but also will be using the tag "my anime drawing challenge" for blocking purposes.
If you keep track of it, I hope you enjoy it with me~
