The characters in the Hunger Games
Celia: born in the capitol, adopted into the upper echelons of district 8, is good at fighting but loses because she has no media appeal
Josh: district 3, gets really far because he has a lot of sponsors and quick reflexes, eventually dies trying to protect Celia
Maddie: district 10, lives the first two nights because she avoided the Cornucopia but gets seperated from her encampment and supplies, dies of overexposure
Heath: district 7, faked incompetence in training and managed to surprise people in the arena, but got taken down by the career tributes
Kitt: district 11, hides early on but has no fighting skills and therefore doesn’t make it. He’s the Rue equivalent
Audra: from district 7 with Heath, gets pretty far because of an alliance with him, can use long range weaponry
Doxa: district 2, career tribute, the victor

And then he stopped wearing it!! He hung it on a hook and made someone else touch it when he needed to summon his followers!! Get this man a divorce
You’re telling me the Desert Knights were sealed into service with a ring? Like marriage? Like you do when you’re getting married and you present a ring to your betrothed and they literally did that. like marriage

Also, Casimir had it in his possession for over a decade and yet refused to drink from it in all that time, heavily implying its should only be touched by the lips of Princeps which like…

I think Neel is the only Desert Knight that’s ever explicitly described as I unafraid of Casimir so he gets points for balls

if you like a piece of media that is good eventually youll more or less run out of things to say about how good it is but if you like a piece of media that is objectively pretty mediocre but also somehow deeply compelling thats how the demons get you

There’s a scene where Casimir holds it up at a Desert Knight meeting and it catches the sunlight streaming in from the window while he remains entirely in shadow … the metaphors are metaphoring

Maddie not knowing what high school is does make me more inclined to accept the idea of Demesne elementary schools

Oh absolutely. She’d be online searching up “how to support a paranoid family member” and trying to implement the suggestions and everything. I like think she’d end up on Reddit because that’s funny to me
I can’t remember if I’ve talked about this here, but it would be really interesting if post-basement Neeghan had paranoid delusions

Celia wouldn’t realize they’re delusions for a long time because when she was seeing people following her everywhere there actually were people following her everywhere

So sad that we never saw anyone in Celia’s Journey get due process arrested. I wanna see them read the rights, I wanna know what that’s like in the Demesne

ALSO?? Maddie’s mom set off the red flash when she tried to grab Celia - something that previously had only happened when a Desert Knight tried to actively kidnap her?? Like, it’s probably safe to say Maddie’s mom meant Celia actual bodily harm. Wtf
You know what? I have not forgiven Maddie’s parents for how they treated Celia in Flash of Red.
She was a young girl who had just lost her best friend and didn’t know what to do. They were not only immensely immature about it, but potentially gave her trauma by implying it was her fault.
It was beyond inappropriate, and their excuse of disliking her family members only makes me more mad. She was a thirteen year old ORPHAN. She didn’t even know her family member’s names. Like oh my god they were such assholes

Melissa Gunther naming the first chapter of the book “Flash of Red” as “Blue” was pretty funny tbh

Renasci really overlooked a major money maker by not having a merch shop. They could be making some serious cash selling coterie sweatshirts and notebooks and whatever else
