So in the book, Jopari is killed by a scorned witch who had once asked him to be her lover, but he had turned her down (because of Elaine and Will obviously), and she kills Jopari in front of Will and then he kills her (I think?). But here it’s just a soldier leftover from the Lee vs Magisterium fight, so... yeah. Kind of a little peeved about the change personally but whatever I guess.

Also, might just be me, but maybe that line would have been slightly more impactful if the scene had taken place at night

And while I do love the father-son reunion, I am kind of annoyed by the change because it was such a huge punch in the gut in the book that Will searches for so long for his dad, only to lose him the second he finds him.

Serafina finding Lee’s body and kissing his forehead was yet another punch in the gut, thanks Pullman/BBC/BadWolf

For anyone unaware, the reason I’m screaming so loud over the post-credits scene is because in TAS, while Lyra is drugged and in a groggy sleep, she has these visions of Roger talking to her from the Land of the Dead, which then later leads to her and Will actually GOING to the Land of the Dead and... well, the rest is even HUGER spoilers but YEAH I’M NOT OKAY.

Honestly, I’m just so happy and emotional because I’ve been waiting over a decade for a decent adaptation of not only NL but for TSK and TAS too, and we’re 2/3 there now. Just one more book/series to go... I wish we could have it now. I really hope that filming for the final one starts ASAP because if we have to wait two years just to see the conclusion to this series, I might cry.

This series is so amazing, and this season especially has been so incredible to watch. It’s been the highlight of my week for seven weeks, and I have no idea what I’ll do with my Sundays now that it’s over. I’ve asked for the DVD for S2 for my birthday already (since it comes out 29th December and my birthday is 13th January... just saying), and words can’t describe how much I do love this series. Hi! Yeah, I'm alive. It's not so much that I'm back fully, but I am getting back into the mojo of updating again. Yeah, Rachel's an interesting character - she definitely plays a bigger role in the story as it goes on, even when she isn't necessarily there she has a lot of impact. And yes... Claude. Claude and Josee's relationship wouldn't be described as awkward, but it's not necessarily healthy. Though it's been emphasized that Josee does like Claude and is attracted to him, she is inexperienced with relationships and assumes that arguing like they do is normal. Jacques' internalized biphobia in this chapter was honestly written from my own perspective, so it got a little personal lol. The difference is Jacques is male and (currently) identifies as gay. This isn't the first time he's had these thoughts, but it certainly won't be the last. But you will have to wait a LONGGG time before anything romantic happens between him and Josee. As for Leo and Liv, yeah, they really are the scum of the story - but they'll get their karma, eventually. We'll just have to wait a bit.

He woke up to Lan Sizhui’s and Jin Ling’s voice. Wei Wuxian stretches on his wooden bed before sitting up, feeling like his spine was bent into a thousand shapes while he was asleep. Like he had been tiling soil and fetching water from the well all day. It took him a moment --a glance to the side, the sight of a hoe and bucket next to his bed, before he remembered-- right. He had been tiling soil. The sweet aroma of cooked chicken and lotus soup was also the indication that Lan Zhan had been cooking for him while he had been at work, plowing the gardens and ready to plant carrots before the next winter.

❝Ahhhhh!! It got away!❞ a sharp, acute voice came from outside the window. Wei Wuxian could have recognized Jin Ling’s voice from just about anywhere.

❝It’s okay, Jin Ling. I think I saw where it went--- no, wait. Don’t go into Senior Wei’s room!❞

Too late. A rabbit hopped through the window, landing on his lap. It was white and fluffy and wet, would have been if it weren’t for it stained with mud. The little thing must have been playing in the mud. Wei Wuxian held it up, looking at it in its eyes. He was about to pat it when more rabbits came through the window, each as dirty as the last had been. Soon, he was covered in muddy, dirty rabbits.

The door bursts open. Lan Sizhui busted inside, panicked. ❝I am so sorry Senior Wei! Jin Ling and I were trying to catch the rabbits, but they were too fast. I’m so sorry they woke you!❞

Wei Wuxian laughs, ❝It’s alright, A-Yuan. I was already awake when it came in. Now I heard Lan Zhan’s name. What is he doing? Why are you torturing these rabbits?❞ he rabbit all huddled closer to him when Lan Sizhui responded. ❝Oh!❞ eyes appear to have brightened when Wei Wuxian called him by his birth name. ❝They all fell into the mud earlier, so Hanguang-Jun is washing them!❞

❝Washing them? Not bathing them?❞

❝Yes. With a washing board.❞

❝My washing board? No way!❞ Wei Wuxian got up, and all the rabbits hopped out of his way. ❝How will I wash our clothes now when it is full of fur!? Where is Lan Zhan? I will speak to him.❞ He got up and walks towards the door, still holding the first rabbit in his hand while another sat on his shoulder.

❝Lan Zhan! What are you doing---❞ Wei Wuxian’s words were cut off when he saw the sight before he begins to burst out laughing. ❝Lan Zhan! What has gotten into you? This is hilarious. Hahahahahaha!!!❞ It really was too funny----the sight of Lan Zhan clutching a white fur ball and scrubbing it up and down the washing board. Next to him, almost a dozen rabbits were pegged up on the clothing line by their ears. Each one of them shivering as a breeze picks up.

He walks up behind him and automatically snuggles up against his back, rubbing his muddy body against Lan Zhan’s clean white robes.

Lan Wangji didn’t react, but he didn’t turn away either. This was his sign of approval.

❝Hey, what’s this?❞

❝Jin Ling, don’t take Senior Wei’s things!❞

He slaps Hanguang-Jun on his back, laughing until he couldn’t quite breathe. ❝It’s alright! It’s alright! I’ll take the blame for this one. Hanguang-Jun, you really surprise me more and more! I wonder what A-Yuan and Jin Ling would think when they---❞

A pair of lips were pressed against his. He felt a wet hand around his waist to keep him from falling. ❝Be quiet.❞

Wei Wuxian returns it. By this time, he must have gotten used to seeing Lan Zhan so bold. He liked this side of him, how he often catches him with surprise kisses and… other things at night.

Their kiss broke when a familiar voice filled the air.

❝Jin Ling,  what did I tell you about talking like that with Wei Ying? He’s your uncle as well.❞

Wei Wuxian stared at Jiang Cheng as if he’d just seen a ghost. ❝...and?❞

❝I thought Jin Ling is already 15 years old, and Nie Ming Jue is dead….❞

He stiffens, stepping away from Yanli before she could touch him.

❝You’re not real.❞ a slight, muffled sob was caught in his throat. Wei Wuxian repeated ❝You’re not real…. You can’t be alive.❞

Yanli looked hurt. At that moment, Wei Wuxian hated himself even more.

❝You...You’re dead.❞ he inhales sharply ❝Because I killed you.❞

Suddenly, Jiang Cheng’s pained expression flashes before his eyes.

❝Wei Ying you murderer!❞

He jolted awake in cold sweat. Eyelids fluttering open after Jiang Cheng punched him. He had always been punched, kicked, ridiculed, and whipped in the past. But those wounds didn’t hurt as much as the punch Jiang Cheng gave him back in the Nightless City. Wei Wuxian felt his heart beats rapidly beneath his chest. The inner screams he’d built reduced to silent, frantic pants. But his heart didn’t lie. Not to him, and the owner of the head that was apparently pressed against his chest.

❝Mhm.❞ Lan Zhan’s deep, lazily voice filled his ears.

❝Lan… Lan Zhan?❞ Wei Wuxian calls as he tries to move, but finding that both his hands were bounded with Lan Zhan’s forehead ribbon, Lan Zhan’s head between his arms, sound asleep, an ear pressed against his chest.

The face doesn’t show anything. Listen to the heartbeat.

Silence. Lan Zhan is fast asleep.

He’d been drunk, and they’d been playing hide and seek. how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i don’t know if i’ll be able to replicate the reshade effect totally but i could release the action i’ve made for myself? it warms up screenshots but is totally adjustable to your liking for different color tones so in that way it’s kinda similar to the reshade. i’ll seeeeee what i can do...i know the woes of mac users all too well, my friend

Love, Simon. Before, After, and During the Special Screening

Yes I am aware that I saw it like literally before most of the country(ies) but this would never freaking post so here we go.

WARNING WILL HAVE SPOILERS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK Also, I will be leaving some points out because I don't wanna spoil EVERYTHING. Before the Movie

Even before 6:30, there was a long ass line to get into the theater.

Someone had decided to walk around the block as they were waiting to go into the theater (you couldn't enter the theater until 6:00) and everyone else just joined in My mom complained about the exercise.

I met two other people and they were hilarious.

When it was finally time to go into the theater, people in the back of the line started screaming and RAN to the entrance. It was chaos.

The esculator up there was crowded and packed, I have never seen so many people that excited.

Okay, they had two theaters showing the movie at the same time.

I honestly thought that I wasn't going to be able to see the movie, because they overbooked both theaters and I'm sure some people had to go home.

When we got into the theater, I was able to get like the second to the top of the theater seats. Those are some of the best seats in the house.

I MET BECKY AND SHE WAS SO NICE AND I WAS SHAKING WHEN I MET HER.

It was like seriously batshit crazy

The woman said that the actors were going to come into the theater that made the loudest noise first.

SOMEONE MADE A SIGN THAT WAS ASKING NICK TO PROM.

After Christmas when they got back to school, the principal was so supportive. HE HAS A GAY PRIDE FLAG ON HIS SUIT AND I NOTICED IT AND I STARTED FREAKING THE FUCK OUT

End of the movie, Simon picks up Nick, then Leah, then Abby. They go to the coffee shop and order five coffees. Cue the screaming.

SIMON PICKS UP BRAM FROM HIS HOUSE AND THEY KISS AND OH MY GOD

At the end of the movie, everyone just started clapping and yelling.

After the Movie

A lady came in and said "Scream if you knew it was Bram all along." EVERYONE STARTED SCREAMING

I should also mention that the mics were messing up.

I wasn't really able to stay for the q&a so I wasn't able to meet Nick :(

But overall, the movie was so fucking amazing 12/10 I would defiantly recommend it, and I would definitely go see it again if I'm ever able to.

I have to say though, if your parents hate bad language, don't see this movie with them. My mom saw it with me and she criticized it for the bad language and she kept saying that it just kept shoving the fact that she should just accept gay people into her face so she wasn't very happy. I didn't talk to her for an hour after that until she apologized. Anyways, that's all for now, unless I may write some fan fiction on it. Would you guys like to see it?

my all-time ultimate fave character: Laurel Lance

a character I didn’t used to like but now do: I hated Quentin at first, and I lot of stuff he did/does I still don’t like but I’ve grown to appreciate his complexity and his dynamics with Laurel and Oliver. Of course now that Laurel’s dead he has like nothing to do so it’s just stupid.

a character I used to like but now don’t: Felicity was cute s1...she got on my nerves pretty quickly after that, though. I hate what Diggle has become. Like just look at him s1 compared to now and it’s just sad. I miss when Diggle was his own character.

a character I’m indifferent about: Can I just say any of the new recruits? Like, I just don’t care about any of them. At all. I didn’t start the show for them, I started for GA and BC, why is this so hard for the showrunners to grasp? I’m also pretty indifferent towards Sara, no lie. She’s just kind of there and then not and then there again. She drifts into the story and out and doesn’t really seem to have all that lasting of an impact. I mean she can literally be plucked from the timeline because she’s apparently of little enough importance history won’t miss her. And it totally undermined the whole “journey” aspect of characters when we met her and she was just insta-badass straight out of her new s2 packaging, now with 100% more blonde, some reshooting required. Maybe if they’d bothered to show her training--but that would have required them to actually show a wlw relationship and not just the angsty post-breakup stage so that wasn’t gonna happen. Like I don’t necessarily hate her but I don’t like her much either. She’s just kind of meh to me.

a character who deserved better: DINAH. LAUREL. LANCE.

a ship I’ve never been able to get into: O/F, Oliver/Sara, and lowkey Nyssa/Sara - Nyssa was always so much more invested than Sara from her first appearance to her last. Like you got her going on and on about her “beloved” and then Sara’s flirting it up and kissing people throughout time and space, the heck am I supposed to do with that? Also I haven’t liked Thea/Roy ever since Roy ditched her after sleeping together and left no forwarding address. Dick move, dude.

a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Lauriver, dear god, the beauty and the tragedy will haunt me forever

a cute, low-key ship: I liked Oliver and McKenna, I won’t lie. Moira and Walter were tragic but precious. Also if Tommy had lived I could’ve seen him and Helena having an interesting thing don’t judge me.

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Non-canon but I’m gonna go Lauryssa. Also Constantine/Oliver.

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: O/F, when will these writers learn that ship destroyed both those characters

my favourite storyline/moment: I’m in that rare minority that loved s1 so much more than s2. S2′s where it started going wrong, the fridging women left and right, Slade’s shitty motivation for being bad--he’s a mercenary, for fuck’s sake, it does not need to be about a woman he loved and lost, it’s not complicated--retconning the flashbacks left and right, but s1 was so good. Also loved Laurel becoming BC though I never got why the writers needed to start her off at square one when they showed she could fight the previous two seasons.

a storyline that never should have been written: Basically the entire s4 plot. Magic and nukes are not GA’s thing. Also killing BC on a GA show is such bs. Real GA would have rather seen himself killed first.

my first thoughts on the show: Ok, this is interesting! The fight scenes are good, I want to see how these characters become more like their comic book counterparts.

my thoughts now: Well that sucked.

a character I didn’t used to like but now do: Dudley is so much more interesting after book 7. I like the idea that he finally started to realize that his parents and their abuse towards Harry was shit. I know JKR decided to not give Dudley a magic child in the epilogue, but I wish she had. It would have been so nice to see Dudley break the cycle of abuse in the Dursley family once and for all by loving and supporting his kid no matter what.

a character I used to like but now don’t: I don’t know if I dislike him necessarily but I definitely don’t like him the way I used to as a kid - okay, yeah, it’s Dumbledore. I mean he is soooo complex, and that’s a good thing. But a lot of the stuff he did? Not cool.

a character I’m indifferent about: Basically a lot of the OCs that masquerade in fics as barely-mentioned students. It’s fine if you wanna use them, but it’s weird to me when people start purporting their characterizations of them as fact if that makes sense? To that end, I’m also mostly indifferent about all the next gen kids with the exception of Teddy (there’s just a lot there to his character that would be so interesting to unpack - why was Cursed Child not about Teddy Lupin with a better plot gdi).

a character who deserved better: So many characters tbh. Ginny Weasley deserved better from both JKR and all y’all. JKR promised an awesome moment having to do with her being the seventh child of a seventh child (Arthur) and then never delivered. Fandom is shitty to her because she gets in the way of their ships (like especially H/HR and H/D shippers seem to love to demonize a teenage girl in their fics, just saying) and because they seem to think Hermione is enough female rep which is such bs. Ron also deserves soooooo much better from fandom. So, so much better. Hagrid deserved to have one of Harry’s kids named after him. Sirius Black just deserved a better life. Snape deserved not to be abused as a child. Harry deserved like basically everything better. The Weasleys deserved not to be poor - do you see where I’m coming from here???

a ship I’ve never been able to get into: A lot of the non-canon ones (H/HR - she’s like a SISTER to him, he LITERALLY SAYS; H/D - It’s implied in that bathroom fight scene Draco was about to use the CRUCIATUS CURSE like WTF also he’s just kinda shitty to Harry and his friends almost the entire series just saying). Obviously if you wanna write AUs where things are completely different, that’s up to you, but they’re just not for me.

a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Jily, Hinny, Romione

a cute, low-key ship: Deanmus is the gay/bi rep we deserved, not unhealthy and possibly one-sided Dumbledore/Grindelwald. I feel like in book 5 at least Luna might’ve had a thing for Ron which is kind of adorable. Although I also like Ginny/Luna. Also I lowkey think Harry might’ve had a crush on both Cho and Cedric at the same time. Teenage years suck.

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I mean Romione seems to be unpopular with a lot of fandom but I love it so sucks to suck

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: I’m pretty much ok on all the canon ships. I mean I wish JKR hadn’t tried to push this whole “Snape loved Lily” thing. More like “Snape was obsessed with Lily and never got over her”.

my favourite storyline/moment: ahhhhh I don’t know, maybe Ron coming back to save Harry and destroy the Horcrux.his insecurities? Such a great moment for his character, and his and Harry’s friendship. I also just love how Harry’s whole outlook on life completely brightened up in HBP during the time he was dating Ginny. It was so lovely to see him happy for once. And I love all of book three, it is my favorite. Also the Moody-is-really-Barty Jr. twist remains one of the greatest of All Time and the movies ruined it but I digress.

a storyline that never should have been written: Like I’m not saying it shouldn’t have been written, I just don’t like how Snape’s backstory has given rise to this idea that he did Nothing Wrong, Ever and it was Lily’s fault for ending the friendship that he turned to the Dark Side. Like fuck off, he was already there and it was not her job to be his “savior” when he sure as hell didn’t want saved. Also all the movies. Damn you, Kloves.

my first thoughts on the show books: This is such a great story and world! I love the characters and I can’t wait to see what happens next! (or something along those lines - I was young, okay?)

my thoughts now: While there’s certainly plenty of issues (lack of rep for many marginalized groups, for example) it still holds up as a really strong series. Must resist temptation to begin yet another reread.
