A sneak peek at one of my @sabezraweek projects:

Neither of them had noticed how the Noti had gathered to watch them from a distance, pointing and giggling amongst themselves. Some hopped up and down and hugged one another, happy that their strange, tall guardian had found himself a female of his own species to woo, for surely that is what this must be. He was preparing a meal for just the two of them to share, along with intimate conversation. Then, the Noti decided, he would ask her to share his pod, and if she accepted, perhaps there would be a wedding to celebrate, and eventually some little human younglings to join their tribe, or so they had hoped. Their dear friend had been so terribly lonely for so long.

Ezra and Sabine heard none of this, of course, because they were far too deep in a conversation about the adventures of a farm boy from a planet with twin suns who became the Jedi who defeated Vader and his Emperor (or so it was said), as well as the adventures of the brave Rebel princess that they had both met so many years before. She was a Jedi, too, and had fallen in love with and married a Corellian smuggler. They sat very close together, huddling under Ezra’s worn, handwoven blanket of sherpiru wool, eating their vegetable stew and sipping on hot tea as the sun set behind the mountains, painting the sky in shades of purple and orange that was reflected by the still surface of the lake for a fleeting, glorious moment.

The Noti scrambled to their pods or pretended to make themselves busy around their own campfires as the two humans washed their bowls and cups, kettle and stewpot in the lake water and put out their campfire. As the two arrived back at the largest pod in the caravan, there were a few more whispers and giggles among the Noti. They had overheard part of the humans’ conversation, and a few of the Noti were able to decipher what it meant, translating it for the others. What they heard went something like this.

“First you make dinner for me, then you ask me to stay the night. I think this is moving pretty fast for a first date,” Sabine teased, and Ezra’s cheeks darkened with embarrassment.

“Sabine, you know that I would never take advantage of—”

Her eyes danced with mirth as they met his. “I know. I was only teasing.”

He opened the pod door for her and followed her inside. Ezra was surprised that young Froto had gone to stay with the Longshell family for the night, leaving Sabine and Ezra alone in the pod, except for Tota, of course, who had gone hunting in the foothills, had his satisfied his hunger and thirst for the night, and was already curled up in a big ball of fur at one end of the pod, leaving plenty of space for Ezra to lay out his bedroll for the night.

The pod door closed and the Noti heard no more after that.

Ezra and the Noti steal pieces of the Chimaera to built their little RV village

Ezra gave the Noti all the little starbird pendants so if anyone (specifically Sabine) showed up wearing that symbol they would know they should bring that person to Ezra

Ezra has stolen several helmets from the night-troopers

Ezra told the Noti all about Sabine

Ezra has been trying to ride a howler his entire time on Peridea so he is jealous that Sabine has one

"Far, Far Away" has one of my favorite things in Star Wars: alien cultures that are completely new and different from anything we've ever seen before, yet which somehow fit perfectly in this universe.
