#Naofumi is just worried about L'arc

Young King L'arc sneaks out of the palace to attend a festival, dragging along his very reluctant guard.
Guard!Naofumi: Your majesty, I don't think this is a good idea. King!L'arc: Oh, loosen up, Naofumi! It's a festival! Let's have fun! Guard!Naofumi: I'd rather we'd have fun back at the palace where I don't have to worry about you getting attacked... King!L'arc: You worry too much! Look, there's a vendor selling chicken skewers! (L'arc proceeds to drag Naofumi all over the festival, until late into the evening.) Guard!Naofumi: It's getting late, Your majesty. We should head back now. King!L'arc: What? But then we'll miss out on the festival dance! Guard!Naofumi: If it's a simple dance you want, then just host a ball or something in the royal palace. Where it's safe for you. King!L'arc: Ugh, would it kill you to relax? Guard!Naofumi: Probably. Likely it would kill you as well. That's rather the point. King!L'arc: *Flashing Naofumi a charming smile* I'll risk it. *Steps closer holding out his hand* Dance with me. Guard!Naofumi: *Taken aback* W-What? King!L'arc: *Still wearing a smile* Dance with me. Guard!Naofumi: *Stammering* Y-Your Majesty, this is highly inappropriate- King!L'arc: Naofumi. Guard!Naofumi: *Freezes immediately* King!L'arc: You may be my personal guard, but you're still my subject and I am your king. And as your king...I order you do dance with me~ Guard!Naofumi: *Speechless* D-Did You just pull a- King!L'arc: Well~? I'm waiting, Naofumi~ Guard!Naofumi: *Blushing*...I suppose, one dance couldn't hurt... *L'arc smirks at his lover, before gently grabbing his hand and leading him to the crowd of dancing villages* *Despite, Naofumi's initial reluctance, he genuinely enjoyed the festival. And though he'll likely never say this out loud, he's glad to get to spend some time with L'arc*

A thought to share. Not many people know that Naofumi's Blood Sacrifice did more than affect his skills. The move also left behind scars that are tinged grey/black. Like most scars they tend to ache when the weather changes.
L'arc and Therese are understandably upset when they find out Naofumi has been powering through the hurt because he's so busy all the time.
Ohhhh! The angst potential! Naofumi powering through his pain despite few people caring and worrying about him, and one day it gets worse, when he collapses out of nowhere, and the healers are honestly shocked that he's not crippled or dead yet.
None of Glass & Co. are happy to learn about this. The only competent Hero they'll fight against in that world, and it was while he was in great pain and affected by a cursed series backlash. They're even more worried when Kizuna notices as well, as it seems to only have gotten worse when they ally with him in their world.
This also just gave me an idea of Naofumi with chronic pain, but he's been conditioned by the surrounding majority to hide it and just deal with it, and it gets even worse as the Shield Hero: more pressure to look good and be alright, and more physical overexertion which makes his pain worse, on top of the backlash from the curse series.
Can you tell that I love angst?

Can't Seem to Change Shape
Everyone has their own powers as a witch and Ren isn't too happy with his.
Isuki keeps teasing him, even though he protests through his yowls.
"Ok we've had our fun Ren! You can turn back right?"
Ren closed his eyes and focused on his magic, visualized his tiny furry body becoming taller and more human.
He opened them and screamed-or more like something of screech.
Isuki's brows knit with worry.
"Yikes...maybe let's um...try breathing exercises yeah! Let's do that!"
They heard Mr. Iwatani say something about getting stuck in a form could possibly be due to anxiety, so he tries.
5. 4. 3. 2. 1.
Ren opens them again, hissing this time.
Isuki sighs sitting down next to the now tiny kitten, "Should we go to Mr. Iwatani about this?"
Ren shook his and growled when Isuki scooped him.
"Don't worry it'll be ok."
Isuki let him climb onto his shoulder while walking toward their home room teacher's class.
"Oof-"
"Eep!"
Isuki put a hand to his head, "Eep? Oh-ah! Hey Rishia why are you here?"
Rishia was about to mumble her apologies til she heard the question.
She laughs nervously, " Oh had to turn late homework cuz I forgot! You've finished with those sets of potions right? Wait-why are you here?"
Her eyes dart to the black-almost void like thing bundled in Isuki's arms, Rishia's lights up, "Oh my gosh! Who is this?"
"Uh...a kitten! I found him on campus so I'm just going to ask...uh Mr. Iwatani about what to do with him." He ducks into the classroom without a second thought, "BYE NOW!"
Real smooth, Ren thinks.
They both see their teacher at his desk, sorting out paper work and some boxes near him. Some fizzling and smelling awfully suspicious...
"So what brings you here Isuki?"
"We...need your help."
Isuki plops Ren onto the desk unceremoniously and rings his hands together expecting what he'll say.
Naofumi is surprised by the black, and very fluffy kitten, on his desk.
"A kitten? Just put it in a shelter?"
His attention is put on the kit after he hisses at him, Naofumi then notices a light blue scarf that Isuki gifted Ren last year.
The blonde sighs, "It's Ren and he can't seem to change back. Could you help?"
Naofumi gets up from his seat and dramatically opens a drawer to grab black laboratory gloves and goggles, "Why wouldn't I? You're my students, of course I will."
Ren leaps into Isuki's arms, "You like a mad scientist."
"I prefer 'Mad Potion Maker'."
With that he scoots them out the room and all they could hear from putting their ears to the door was cackling and ingredient names.
Isuki rolls his eyes, "Yep. Mad scientist."
He looks down at the anxious mess of the black kitten he's holding and bumps his head to Ren's.
"Don't worry he'll have the potion ready in the morning, I won't let anyone know. I promise you."
With that Ren climbed into Isuki's jacket and onto his shoulders, closed his eyes and purred.

An Au where everyone's a witch and goes to a witchy school to control their innate powers!! Or at least make them real anyways!
Naofumi is a teacher that works with healing magic and potions of all kind.
Therese works as a elemental magics teacher and hates a certain period where a certain playboy who's stupid and still flirts with her even though she's married to one of the two teachers in school.
L'arc does the fighting classes for those who lean towards very active magics.
Glass is a teacher who teaches death/soul magic, her wife Kizuna comes by. Shes a vet :]
Kyo's here for some reason and is also a teacher for potions and stuff but also does more so the animal shifting and transformations stuff as well. Naofumi and him hate eachother. It's not even a rivalry . They just wanna beat each other up in front of the school.
Mirellia is the headmaster who keeps everything under control :]

I just thought about something. What if L'Arc's team wasn't from a different world? Maybe they'd just be from a small country almost no one knows of? They decided to check out what was happening in Melromarc after Trash summoned all Four Cardinal Heroes and becomes Friends with Naofumi's Party. And instead of fighting against them, they join Naofumi's Part after Cal Mira and they all travel together, getting stronger and closer.
yay.
especially L’Arc and Naofumi. They get very close...but Naofumi still worries about what’s going to happen next, or what happens when the waves are over.
L’Arc gets attached to Naofumi, and would beat up Motoyasu for him. Obviously.
Those two kiss at one point, and the rest is history.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari - Episode 23
The episode just started and I already laughed so many times seeing this:
Tumblr media
I wonder which reason he would tell her for his situation seem less worse to her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Never underestimate a devoted waifu
I found so sweet his voice's tone when he said for her to don't make that worried face.
And today we discovered that...
Drunk Raphtalia is priceless 👌😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know when someone is badass just by this look 🌟
Apparently that man of the armor still haven't learn his place even after the episode 22
Tumblr media
I said you shouldn't underestimate a waifu mainly if she haves a sword and you insult her love lol
Tumblr media
Awn Filo is so cute
Tumblr media
Filo's number #1 fan lol
Am I the only one that even if I think it's amusing how Naofumi have a extremely high tolerance of alcohol, I wanted to know how would he act if he ever got drunk 😂
That would be totally a chaos so for the humanity well being it's better not...
But talking about him:
Tumblr media
Ok, Naofumi is helpless, I never saw a character this dense 😂
Tumblr media
Raphtalia's cuteness it's over 9000 *^*
But what about you guys ?? Did you like the new episode ? I personally laughed very much, even if I think I preferred the scene of "The party" at the version of the manga.
I haven't mentioned L'arc and Therese yet because I wanted to talk a bit more about them but I also don't want to give anyone spoilers so I think I will wait for the next episodes.

Tate no Yuusha: Last Episode (Anime vs Manga)
Spoilers to the last episode and manga adaptation ahead!
Well, they packed so much in this last episode didn't they. Not that they really had any choice considering it was the one and only good way to close the whole season. Though I feel a little robbed about some stuff, like the relationship L'Arc had with Glass (meaning, she was acting as his superior and he was really good at supporting her during the fight in the manga, a lot of their interactions there were more fleshed out than in the anime). It was shown to some extent, but focus was lost. Probably due to the battle. It looked as if anime focused on showing how “woohoo” battle is instead of focusing more on Glass and how she needed her party during the battle. Anime tried to show her as powerful, but in the same time refused to acknowledge her weakness after Naofumi became stronger and focused only on this one caused by Soul Eater Shield. Manga to the contrary focuses on how much of a pain Naofumi became to Glass for the sake of showing how helpful L'Arc and Therese are to her when Glass is in a pinch or fights someone strong. Well, I can only say it's a price which we pay for translating novel to two different mediums at the same time.
I feel also robbed from the whole drama with Risha. In the manga it didn't happen as quickly as in the anime. She got whole storyarc, from which we learned a lot about Itsuki, his party, how they treated her, which kind of person Risha is and even her quirk of going around in a costume, because she feels safe inside something. We were robbed of that image of her saving the day in her cute costume just like in the last episode we got robbed from all the drama of L'Arc's betrayal and some of his great texts like "Don't make that face. This hurts my heart, too." (Which by the way is along with Glass comments a confirmation that there is a room for L'Arc x Naofumi in this whole universe).
Tumblr media
We also got robbed from Therese telling everybody that L'Arc sucks when it comes to explaining things clearly to other people, which is... a shame, like it would flesh out his character a little more than anime actually tries. (If anybody wanna see, check chapter 40 of the manga).
Speaking of which, the whole battle is also shown in a different way in the manga, because Naofumi never splits up from Raphtalia and uses Soul Eater Shield from the very start to nearly the end. The change in the manga to use only this one shield and also to not split up parties was used to give us more informations about Glass and L'Arc due to them being from another world (simply put, there is more team battle in the manga and basically no individual battle, which anime shows instead). In anime this whole scene serves as "wow, it's a cool battle going on", but also as "Glass isn't human" realisation scene, where she alone is more of a thread than when she battles with her team. There is nothing about L'Arc also drinking the vial. Not to mention that in the manga Glass didn't drink the vial, she literally bathed in it, which made her so overpowered that it also strenghtened the sense of abnormality without actually any need to split her from her peers (meaning that bath and power were two weird things which made her abnormal). So I feel kinda robbed of that, simply because it was great reinterpretation of the novel. Sometimes just going along with the text in a book isn't the best choice and it really shows in this scene. Naofumi in the anime doesn't really look as if he was cornered enough to actually use Shield of Wrath, while in the manga the sheer power which Glass shows there (and doesn't in the anime as much as in the manga) was enough to make him instantly switch to using the Shield of Wrath. And it worked better, not only because anime forgot that Naofumi should act violently while using that Shield. (Do I have to add that manga portrays him as going into evil/crazy guy mode and Raphtalia and Filo throw themselves at him to actually stop him from doing anything bad to Glass, and also show that L'Arc makes concerned face when he SAVES Glass from Naofumi, while Naofumi is fighting with his own party yelling that they have to take Glass down now, because it's their chance?)
Tumblr media
(He kinda looks like as if he was in pain for seeing Naofumi in such a state).
*sighs* Manga definitely won me over, but I cannot say that anime did bad in portraying the battle. It did fine. I mean anime is a visual medium as much as manga is, but because manga is a comic while anime is a TV series there are of course differences in the way they use visual methods to explain things to the audience. Also anime tend to go into "wooohoo" mode when there are battles during the episode, which rarely happens in the comics, where battles serve as trigger to actually tell audience more about the characters. Here we kinda have the situation where anime was focusing on “wow, battle” while manga was focusing on “look how powerful Glass is after bathing in this vial with potion and look how abnormaly powerful she became”. Manga went nuts to show that Glass is overpowered, while anime tried to show that in the strenght of her attacks, but even though she was strong it still kinda felt a little flat if I am honest. I almost wish animators were reading the manga and tried to borrow some stuff from there to improve the storyline, instead of going along with the novel.
(Simply put, Glass was strong only after she bathed in the vials, and before that she was as much vulnerable as any other character so she needed her party. Anime went with her being still the most powerful and split her up with her peers early on, so she could go nuts at Naofumi, but then when she drank the vial she became just a little more stronger though considering she was already shown as strong before, it didn’t have the same effect as in the scenario when she relied on her team more to fight with Naofumi, cuz he became so much stronger).
Tumblr media
Ok, moving on, what I was talking about earlier? Ah, Risha and her fluffy costumes. We were robbed of Risha and her fluffy costumes! And Itsuki being a total jerk! I really wish they didn't pack it into this one episode as "quick summary of what happened to her" and instead went with whole arc, because Risha’s SUICIDE ATTEMPT feels so flat in comparision! But well, they had to close the season and the best way seemed to be with the use of Naofumi's new title and territory as well as semi-romantic scene with Raphtalia (I do not ship them, but I also do not want to rob people who ship them from their joy, I just point out that Risha’s whole storyarc suffered, because of the haste in this last episode and the need to close it with Naofumi’s homebase). Oh, and we also were robbed of the info that Motoyasu cannot handle crying girls as well as him still treating Naofumi as if he was a rapist, instead of a victim of Malty's scheme. Well, there was more stuff with all that. There was a lot of things, including Naofumi getting angry at Motoyasu and Itsuki again, because one is a jerk and the other is an idiot. Whole drama with Risha has much more weight in the manga and I wish it was treated seriously in the anime as well, because it’s just unfair to her as a character to be treated as if her suicide attempt was something unimportant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Read chapters 40-48 of the manga, it’s good).
There was though whole recruiting new party members thing mentioned in the manga and I was really excited for that, because when thinking about people who Naofumi can trust, he instinctively thought about L’Arc and Therese. Which so happens to not be adressed at all in the anime. It almost looks like that for the sake of cute ending Naofumi forgot he has trust issues and as a person with trust issues myself I am sure he still has them and would be worried about adding people, whom he cannot trust to his party so lightly.
Tumblr media
Actually I was kinda suprised that Naofumi got whole place to run, because I didn't remember that being mentioned in the manga. In the manga Naofumi was in the Castle in Melromarc after the wave, dealing with whole Risha drama. I do not remember there being any village restoration mentioned, so I dunno if anime added that or manga actually skipped whole "Naofumi became the Lord and started building his base of operation in this world" thing. It was probably the latter considering that both anime and manga adapt the same novel.
For the anime adaptation it probably felt more important to adress Raphtalia's fear of abandonment, considering that anime was hinting at her being afraid of that in a lot of episodes already, while for the manga it was more important to adress issues with other heroes first, so then the whole Spirit Tortoise Arc would make much more sense due to them being idiots who cannot deal with the fact that they are weaker than people in the universe they were summoned to, when they should actually be stronger than them as heroes. It's a matter of interpretation and approach to the source material mostly.
But, boy, how much good stuff we could get...

Fans Celebrate the Shield Hero Finale with Over 30,000 Messages of Support
It's time that time, y'all... You didn't want it to end, but the season finale of The Rising of the Shield Hero is here. It's tough to say goodbye, but all good things must come to an end... Needless to say, let's get to that Shield Hero time once more and let's go out with a bang! If you haven't watched this week's episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero, please shield your eyes from these spoilers!
  **SPOILERS AHEAD**
Last week's episode went straight to the opening, and this week's didn't even HAVE an opening; there's just so much going, we've got no time for that catchy tune! Naofumi is facing off against Glass, but unlike last time, it looks like Naofumi has the upper hand here. Glass seems to think that the only Shield capable of harming her is the Wrath Shield, but... she's completely wrong about that assumption.
Once Naofumi summons the Soul Eater Shield, Glass immediately falls back out of its range, which is pretty weird. Why did Glass back away? Does this mean that without SP, her attacks won't scratch Naofumi? There's something else going on with that, and it's a huge key to Naofumi's victory in this fight!
But before Naofumi can do anything about it, Therese slips in and assists Glass with a combo skills. Huh, so they can use them too?! That miiiight be a problem! However, Naofumi was able to protect himself and the rest of his team in his powered up Shield Prison. Okay, I take back what I said; Naofumi can totally handle combo skills!
Glass admits that she's didn't truly know all there was to know about the Shield Hero, meaning that the BEST TEAM is a huge problem to these Heroes from yet another world. That leveling spree over at Cal Mira truly ended up being a huge boon to Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo! But what's the deal with Glass' reaction to the Soul Eater Shield? It's only supposed to deplete the target's SP, but it kinda looks like it might hurt her? Alright, some testing is in order here.
Naofumi decides to take on Glass by himself to confirm his suspicions, so that in the end, he won't have to rely on the Wrath Shield that might cost him his life. Before this heated battles continues, Naofumi asks Glass one thing: is she also a Hero from another world like L'Arc and Therese? She confirms by saying that she's also a "Vassal Wielder," the Fan Hero. The... "Vassal Wielder"? Just how different are these worlds that they're from? As one question gets answered, more questions seem to sprout up!
Okay, but I'm worried about the rest of the Shield Hero team. L'Arc and Therese are very strong... How is the rest of the BEST TEAM doing? Why, they're kicking ass and taking names as they hold their own against L'Arc and Therese! Phew, there was no need to worry after all!
Alright, back to Naofumi and Glass as they go toe to toe. Glass is lacking her confidence that she displayed when we first saw her, so it's time to test Naofumi's theory of the Soul Eater Shield. Once he uses it... it severely harms Glass! For anyone else, this particular Shield would only drain their SP, but for Glass, it looks like it drains away at her life force. Bingo, this is the ticket Naofumi needs to triumph over Glass! The effect the Shield has on her is interesting though; why did it drain her life force? Is she not human? My goodness, the questions, they just keep on coming!
There's no time to think about that, because Naofumi is so close to defeating Glass and ending this Wave! But Naofumi doesn't want to engage in needless bloodshed; if Glass, L'Arc and Therese leave, the Wave is over, right? However, Glass is having none of that. She intends to fight until she cannot fight anymore; a fight to the death! She'll keep on going for the sake of the world she holds dear. Does Naofumi feel the same for the world he's fighting to protect?
Why has Naofumi been fighting all this time? He got summoned to this world and went through a lot of hardships, and pretty much had most of the world hating on him. Why is he fighting to protect such a world? Glass has a lot of love and devotion for her own world, but the same can't be said of Naofumi. As he's witnessing Glass' determination and unshakeable devotion to protecting her world, Naofumi stumbles on his thoughts on what's the right action to take here.
Where Naofumi is wavering, Raphtalia is resolute, ready to strike down anything in her path! She reminds Naofumi that she's the Shield Hero's Sword, and she will not allow any more atrocities happen in this world. This is a wake-up call for Naofumi, and he answers it by pushing Glass back further until she cannot attack anymore.
Our fierce Queen watches on, wanting to join in the battle, but not knowing how to turn the tides in the Shield Team's favor, until...
Alright, what exactly is our fierce Queen going to do with those barrels? What cunning plan does she have cooked up?
There's less than 3 minutes before the Wave ends, meaning that Glass, L'Arc and Therese will have to retreat. It's go big or go home time! Glass vows to end it all in the next move, which is not a great sign for the Shield Hero team.
Despite Raphtalia's complaints, Naofumi takes out the Wrath Shield. It seems like he has finally found his answer to the big question: why protect this world? Sure, this world has been harsh towards Naofumi as he tried his best to protect it from harm, but this world has people he cares about, people that made this journey worth it for Naofumi. As long as this world has Raphtalia, Filo and Melty, for Naofumi, this world is worth protecting!
Not so fast! Did you really think he was going to use the Wrath Shield? Nah, it's time for Glass to get drunk off these luchol berries! Apparently, she doesn't have as high tolerance for them as Naofumi does; she slumps to the floor trying to fight off the berries' effect.
Unfortunately for Glass, L'Arc and Therese, this marks the end of the battle and the end of this Wave. With less than 1 minute left, there's not much they can do to regroup and take the advantage. They vow to return and finish the job at the next Wave. My question is... with the Wave over, what exactly happens to that other world? It was an inconclusive battle, but not defeating the Shield, Spear, Sword and Bow Heroes of this world counts as a loss, right? Will the Wave monsters continue to ravage that world until they can travel back and attempt to defeat the Heroes once more? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
And so the Wave ends... with like almost NO HELP from the other three hero stooges! Seriously, why were they even THERE?! Anyways, Naofumi and the BEST TEAM decided to take it easy and relax for awhile despite the Cal Mira experience boost still being in effect. After all, it's not like it's them who desperately need the levels... Are you hearing me, three idiot Heroes?!
As Naofumi thinks on how to best prepare for the next Wave, he's reminded of Fitoria's words: "The heroes will be forced to choose what they fight for in that battle." So eventually, the choice of which world to sacrifice is going to be made... it's not an easy choice for either world, but what bothers me is that the world L'Arc and co. is from, they have all the details as to how the Waves works and their significance, yet in the world where Naofumi is, there are some very obvious big blanks as to why all of this is happening.
Despite all of this, the BEST TEAM will have to push on for what they believe in! But they really need to expand their party some, since Melty won't always be with them. And just as they talk about this, they run into Lecia, who was trying to... drown herself?! What the? She was formerly in the Bow Hero's party, but she got kicked out when she was falsely accused of breaking Itsuki's favorite accessory. That's it...? That's all it takes to get kicked out? Yikes.
Let's not forget that if it wasn't for Lecia, the previous Wave battle wouldn't have ended the way it did! So even though dumb Itsuki kicked her out, Naofumi knows the Lecia can become stronger and fight. With that, they've found their newest member! It's going to be a real treat to see her grow and prove the Bow Hero wrong!
After all that the BEST TEAM has done to triumph against the 3 Heroes Church and the huge help they were in the Cal Mira Wave battle, our fierce Queen is urging Naofumi to choose his reward. Now that he's found his reason to fight... the reward choice becomes crystal clear!
They make way to Raphtalia's village once more, but this time, there's a huge difference. People are gathering around to rebuild the town to revive it and make it prosper. And with Naofumi as the region's lord, he'll see it to get that done! Besides, they're in need of a home base without running into two very unpleasant people all the time (y'all know how I'm talking about here). I know that this means we won't see much of Melty, but I hope she can still be part of the team every so often!
Raphtalia's village was destroyed by a Wave, and choosing it as a base of operations as a symbol of resistance against the Waves speaks of Naofumi's new found determination to protect this world. But to Raphtalia, all this means is that he'll leave them one day to go back to his own world, which is something she doesn't want at all!
Naofumi vows that this is just but the beginning. Meeting Raphtalia, Filo, Melty, and many others have helped make up his mind to fight for his friends (hello, Ike) and protect this world as the Shield Hero. This is the start of it all, and this is their home. The BEST TEAM can't come to an end here!
Wow, look at that blush! Naofumi and Raphtalia get interrupted by Filo and... everyone?! Wow, way to ruin the moment! At least they got one smooch in.
As the new shield emblem flag flies in the wind for all to see, so begins the Shield Hero's story! ...That means there's gotta be another season of this show, right? RIGHT?! After all, there are so many questions left to be answered, like the true significance of the waves, and whether the three hero stooges will EVER be useful. These are questions I NEED answers to! But alas... it is the end of The Rising of the Shield Hero for this season. Let's cross our fingers and hope  that there will be another one soon!
Alright, y'all know the drill here. The episode's over, and we wanna see what YOU thought about the season finale! Here's what y'all had to say:

Before we wrap this up, we recently had a survey on the Crunchyroll home page asking fans to leave a message to the staff that worked so very hard to make this show possible! We received over 30,000 messages of support. Guys, that's INSANE. Here are some heartfelt thanks from Shield Hero Fans:
"Such an awesome show. Already can't wait for season two. Love the grittiness of the show. Having things go wrong and Sheild corrects the situation by sheer willpower. 10/10"
"The story and character developement of this series is my favorite of all the Isekai I've ever watched. Keep up the good work!"
"i want to see another season NOW-ofumi. Please laugh at my pun"
"Keep it up, one of the better anime's as of late."
"You guys did a wonderful job, one of my new favorites!"
"I think the anime is fantastic, it's really one of the first anime's i've watched where the protagonist ends up frenimies with the other protagonists. It's a really fantastic show."
"Raphtalia is life"
"Amazing work, honestly very original and enjoyable for the fact the main protagonist goes through so much turmoil, then slowly not just like in other shows were everything is solved no in this it takes time to clear his name as he reflects and develops as a character throughout the story. Please Please make a second season! if anything it was a honor to watch such a masterpiece. Thank you!"
"The show is really good and emphasis character development on the main characters and major theme through out the show is bomb"
"its litt"
"I wouldve never thought a shield hero could be so cool"
"I loved how it started out. As a black person I can definitely see myself in the main character. An underdog who is born into a world that is heavily prejudiced against him. I also love how this transforms him into more of a cold person rather than the very lighthearted person he used to be. Finally, MORE PLEASE!"
"thank you for an amazing journey"
Thank you for joining us every week with your love, energy and hype for this very special show! Keep that hype going on until there's another season announced! Until next time!
Give some love to the official Shield Hero Twitter and Facebook fan page where you can discuss the show with fans while waiting for (hopefully!!!) another season!

More Angst!
Sleep.
(For the sake of the angst of this prompt, I'm going to say that the usual protection of the Shield lays dormant when Naofumi is in a sleep not influenced by his fight-or-flight instincts)
One day, Naofumi sleepwalks. He walks around the castle in his underclothes and cape, no shoes, through the halls if Melromarc’s Castle until he ends up in the courtyard where the former king and Princess could've lost their lives had he not intervened.
He's found by a servant, feet bare and dirty and freezing in the night air, by a servant who immediately goes to L’Arc and Therese when Naofumi doesn't respond.
After getting him back to their room with gentle coaxing, Naofumi goes blank as soon as he hits the bed after thei wash his feet.
The next day, he's disoriented, doesn't remember a thing about what happened during the night, and he's hazy. He keeps stopping midway through sentences and then sayi g them again as if he never stopped, only to later pass out as soon as he stands after everyone has eaten lunch.
He tries saying he's okay, but now everyone is worried about him, and the healer end up giving him a strong sleeping medicine to try and help.
It doesn't help, and in the morning, Filo and Raphtalia find him sitting curled up on the floor in the Throne Room, head on his knees, staring blakly and hazily at the thrones atop the stairs. As they get him back to his room shared with L’Arc and Therese, he's slightly coherent, sluring that it's hard to talk and his eye keep drooping.
He still doesn't remember anything, but they end up finding scratch marks all over his arms, and blood beneath his own nails.
The next night, they find him staring at the portrait of the first queen of Melromarc with a sprained ankle.
The night after that, he's curled up the the corner under a table in the Royal kitchen, like a scared child, with a severe burn on his hand and forearm, and a nasty blue bruise on his hip.
Everyone is getting more and more worried, and nothing they've tried is helping. Naofumi keeps sleepwalking and keeps hurting himself during it. And whenever he's awake, he's either affected by the sleeping drugs or increasingly hazy, disoriented, stressed, and paranoid.
The next evening, Naofumi tried working on some new jewellery late into the night, until the moon is at its highest, when he lets himself fall asleep at the desk, L'Arc and Therese sleeping peacefully on the bed together.
The next morning, no one can fi d him until they're alerted by the manager of the City Wall, that the found the Shield Hero curled up, unresponsive, against the wall by the gate.
His party hurries onto Filo's back to get him. They find him with his formerly burnt wrist now broke, 7 of his nails either cracked or halfway falling out, and bloody scratch marks all over his arms and neck.
But, it only keeps getting worse.
At some point, Naofumi starts refusing to sleep, he becomes increasingly paranoid and stressed, and his coherency gets worse and worse. And yet, outside of his injuries and worsening mentality, nothing seems wrong with him, no trace of the Cursed Series anywhere.
It gets so bad that hell stay awake until his body physically can't keep going anymore, just so he doesn't have to sleep. His sleep is plagued by nightmares and panic attacks he can't even remember, and if someone tries to force him, he'll start becoming violent.
Nothing seems to help. Not medicine, not restraints, not potions, not magic, nothing.
And it still gets worse.

(A/B/O Dynamics, Mpre)
Omega!Naofumi hooked up with Alpha!L'Arc and Alpha!Therese ONCE before the Wave at Cal Mira, and now he's pregnant.
Not the best situation, honestly. The two who could be the other parent are trying to kill him and destroy the world he's trying to protect for the sake of a few people, the Waves are still fucking happening, the other Heroes are still incompetent, and there are not many people in this world he would trust with taking care of his baby while he's out fighting the wave (if it's still alive by then...).
(A little Season 2 Spoilers ahead)
But, he doesn't have the time to say anything while they're fighting in the spirit tortoise. L'Arc, Therese, and Glass are all too quick to follow Kyo back to their own world.
When Naofumi and Rishia meet Kizuna, after falling from the fucking sky, Naofumi is glad that despite his reset level, his defense was still strong enough to protect him and the about 1-month-old child in his stomach.
Now, I just have this vision of Naofumi being annoyed at not having been able to tell the two yet, and so right before everyone split into groups for one reason or another, Naofumi just exclaims while pointing a finger at L'Arc and Therese.
Naofumi, "You better come back alive and well!"
L'Arc, teasingly "Worried about us, are ya, Kiddo?"
Naofumi, "Yes!" he's not afraid to admit it right now, he's done with waiting, and would like to get the acceptance or rejection over with soon
Therese, a bit confused "Why?"
Naofumi, exasperatedly, "Because I'm pregnant, and it's your fault, and I'm not having my child grow up without another parent, and I refuse to be a single father at only 20!"
L'Arc and Therese are quite obviously shocked, but within seconds, their faces quickly morph into complete and utter excitement.
"You're pregnant!" The two shout in sync, rushing over to Naofumi with bright smiles on their faces, and adoration in their eyes
"Wait! You shouldn't be out fighting if you're damn pregnant!" Kizuna then exclaims, worried for the omega, alpha instincts kicking in
Reluctantly, after much arguing, and getting outvoted by everyone else, Naofumi sits the fight out.

I love your blog.
Hell, I'll admit that you converted me to TheRuFumi now.
But now... prompt time if you're accepting them for (SHORT) fics (if not, ignore this part):
"You're so in love it's crazy!"
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoy it!
Also, Y'ALL WE GOT ANOTHER ONE >:D
I will gladly accept more short fics/prompts with short ideas/one-liners like this! :D
Now, short prompt(Vaguely inspired by me getting a wisdom tooth and being disappointed because I didn't get to get high and my jaw is sore)(honestly, halfway through writing this, I realize that I could've made it angtsy/whumpy/yandere as fuck):
"You're so in love it's crazy!"
"Yeeeaaah, but I love them so much, Kizuna!"
The brunette laughed again, clutching her stomach in the chair in the resting room where Naofumi was laying on the bed, completely outta his mind because of the drugs for the surgery.
Filo had already retreated to going outside to the street with Raphtalia because the girl couldn't stop laughing.
Naofumi, since he'd gotten the chance, had started rambling about his love for his family, though mainly L'Arc and Therese. He just wouldn't shut up, and Kizuna had even given up recording a video of it after a while because she laughed so hard she couldn't keep her phone steady. Instead, she'd called L'Arc and Therese to come to pick them up from the clinic because they just Had To See This.
When the two finally arrived, Therese had to turn away to hide her laughter, yet her giggles and shaking shoulders exposed her, while L'Arc tried to interact with Naofumi without laughing his lungs out.
"Will you two please go on a date with me?! I really wanna date you both so much! I love you so so so much!" Naofumi exclaims from his place on the bed, reaching for the two with grabby hands
"K-Kiddo, we're, haha! we're allready married!" L'Arc tried to stop chuckling as he answers
But, none of them were prepared for the look of absolutely delighted surprise and adoration on Naofumi's face once he heard those words.
The three others in the room couldn't hold back their laughter and started heaving for breath, worrying Naofumi, but also making him pout because he didn't understand why the hell they were all laughing.
To console him, L'Arc and Therese rushed over to embrace him, still giggling.
"You are adorable." Therese had commented.
Once Naofumi got home and slept off the drugs, he had no chance of denying it ever happening, because of course, Kizuna had started filming as soon as L'Arc and Therese entered the room.
So, during their bi-weekly movie night with all their friends, she set up the videos on the TV, despite Naofumi's protests(which were quickly muffled by pillows and blankets being thrown at him, and L'Arc and Therese smothering him in cuddles.), giving everyone a good laugh.
Second take on this prompt, because why not write multiple?:
"You're so in love it's crazy!"
"I KNOW!"
Naofumi, once again, was in complete turmoil, except this time he wasn't thinking about his inevitable betrayal, the anger rising within his heart, or the fear of losing his close ones.
No, this, at the moment, it felt even worse, he'd quickly realized.
He'd realized he's fallen in love.
With L'Arc and Therese.
And he'd been ranting about it to Kizuna for the past 30 minutes, and she had done nothing but laugh at his misery.
The betrayal.
Instead of helping him get rid of his turmoil and helping him like the good friend she was supposed to be, she laughed at his misery, as if she hadn't been the same when she realized her feelings for Glass and spent two months trying to figure out how to as the Spirit out, only for Glass to take the mantle and declare them engaged while tipsy at a party.
"Okay, okay, do you want some help?" She'd asked, drying to dry the tears of laughter from her eyes
"YES!" No, his voice did not crack as he exclaimed his answer
"Too bad, ask someone else, I've come to terms with how shit I am at feelings!" She said, standing up from where they'd been sitting on a bench in the middle of Sickle's Royal Garden
"YOU THINK I'M ANY BETTER?" He shouted at her leaving form, incredulously
"NOPE!" She yelled back, delighted.
Unbeknownst to the two Heroes, the two people currently causing the turmoil had been hiding behind a wall of flower bushes and had heard everything.
So, they started planning.

RaruFumi Prompt
Naofumi, who's been gone for months since the last wave, completely gone, no one has been able to find or contact him, and his party and loved ones doesn't even seem worried.
One day, during a meeting in Shroud about the Waves and Naofumi's disappearance, with Cardrinal and Vassal Heroes present, high-ranking military official's, influential people, royalty, Kizuna, and anyone associated, Naofumi appears again.
Wearing a thin, emerald green silk robe, threaded and embroidered with gold thread, slipping down one of his shoulders, showing off his shoulder and some of his chest and numerous love-bites, Naofumi saunters over to the place at the round table where L'Arc sits.
(If you want Mprg to make it more spicy and make more drama, Naofumi may or may not be a few months pregnant, the thing robe doing nothing to hide the light bump on his stomach as he walks.)
Naofumi plops down on L'Arc's lap, crossing his legs and arms, and leaning comfortably against L'Arc's chest as he faces the rest of the people at the table.
"What? Am I, the Shield Hero, not supposed to be at this meeting, with my fellow Heroes, to plan and discuss the Waves?" Naofumi asks sassily, almost sounding annoyed.
The others are to speechless to even speak about his appearance or where he's been for the past few months, and just get on with the meeting.
Except, throughout the whole meeting, Naofumi is just snuggling up to L'Arc and stealing the other's attention to keep on himself, while L'Arc keeps his arms around Naofumi's wait or on his hips, occasionally squeezing when Naofumi becomes a lil too rowdy.
(Naofumi has been living a leisure life for the past few months; leisurely leveling up and defeating monsters, lazing around while reading books on magic, spells, alchemy, and potions and studying, eating delicious snacks whenever he wants, sleeping in the most comfortable bed with the fluffiest pillows and douvet, and soft matress, and getting codled by L'Arc, his party, and their friends, who'd all decided Naofumi needed a lot of comfort and peace after the trauma he acquired in Melromarc.)

Motoyasu give me closeted vibes idk y but he feels like hes only simping for malty because he lying to himself
Could've just asked me to make LGBTQ+ Motoyasu Redemption.
Motoyasu knows. He's known since he was exposed to the internet in high school. He wasn't 'straight', though he still wasn't sure what he was.
He also knew his family wouldn't support him. All of them were against the LGBTQ, and would frequently complain about them whenever the topic came up.
He'd tried to bring up the topic once, saying he thought he might be queer, but his parents had raged at him for it, while his elder sister looked disgusted. He'd awkwardly played it off as a prank, before going to his room after dinner, and crying his eyes out.
So, he started lying to himself and to those around him. He started excessively dating and sleeping around with girls, which his father praised him for, saying he was following in his footsteps.
Sure, whatever.
When he was summoned as the Spear Hero in another world, so similar to one of his favorite games, Emerald Online, he'd been ecstatic. This was another world, another place where he could be himself without worry.
That was until he remembered how many of the friends he found in the game had been cyberbullied into leaving just because of who they were, and he decided to keep up his lies.
He even went as far as to tell himself he'd fallen in love with Myne, and that he would go to the ends of the world for her. He didn't, and he knew it, but he kept lying, even condemning one of his fellow Heroes to a life of distrust and hatred.
However, after years of fighting for that world, after a few months after having finally cut all ties with the leech of a former princess, Bitch, Motoyasu saw something.
He saw how happy Naofumi was around the two they'd once fought against at Cal Mira's First Wave. A man broken down and beaten by the world, which Motoyaus had even contributed to, who'd been so filled with hatred and anger he'd been the first to unlock the Cursed Series of his weapon, was smiling and laughing boisterously with his party.
He saw how Naofumi held Therese's hand, smiling as he lifted it to kiss the back of hers, before L'Arc said something he couldn't hear, making Naofumi turn and peck his lips too, before turning to give Therese a proper kiss.
A few days later, Motoyasu had pulled Naofumi aside, a bit away from where the Four Heroes were camping. Naofumi looked grumpy as he followed, probably expecting another talking of Motoyasu's usual bullshit. It hurt, to know he'd helped break this man who'd once been so bright and cheerful, being himself, but he took the guilt head-on.
Despite Naofumi's expectations, Motoyasu had gone as far as to bow at the waist, and exclaim an apology for everything he'd done to Naofumi, even if it couldn't right what was wrong.
Naofumi, skeptically, had asked what sprung on the sudden apology, which had apparently, surprisingly, sounded sincere.
Motoyasu had told him he'd been lying to himself and everyone else for too long, he was tired. And when he saw Naofumi being himself, in a world of people who'd hated and scorned him, Motoyasu had decided that, maybe, he could learn to do that too.
The silence had stretched on, Motoyasu awaiting Naofumi's reply with his eyes on the ground, his boots muddy from the forest ground.
Naofumi had then tugged him over to a nearby log to sit and told Motoyasu to talk to him, to explain.
Motoyasu told him of the story with his family that would never support him for being who he was, and how he'd lived his whole life lying to himself so they wouldn't hate him.
Naofumi had patted him on the shoulder and told him that while it explained a few things, it hadn't been the right thing to do, and he almost didn't hate Motoyasu any less, but he understood. Motoyasu had just been trying to fit into a world that hated him and said people like him were wrong.
And really, Naofumi hadn't realized he might be part of the LGBTQ+ Community before meeting L'Arc and Therese.
It took Motoyasu a few confused moments to reply.
"So you had your Gay Awakening at Cal Mira?!" Motoyasu had exclaimed
He couldn't stop himself from laughing uncontrollably at the face Naofumi made upon realizing what he meant. He wouldn't lie to himself anymore; he would laugh when he thought something funny, cry when he was sad, and love whoever he wanted.

Domestic TheRuFumi
Just a little idea of Domestic TheRuFumi retiring to a farm on the countryside about two hours of horse-riding away from the nearest village, just living a peaceful life together raising their youngest daughter of 3 years old while their other kids are adventurers.
They live near a forest with an incredible amount of berry and fruit trees and bushes, a field where filolials and other near-domestic animals frequent (they all love Naofumi), and have their own field to grow crops.
Naofumi doesn't use the Shield's skills to hurry the framing winter is nearing the village near needs more crops for the winter. L'Arc uses. his scythe in the field, after he copied a normal one to use. Therese spends a lot of time polishing her jewels and jewellery, and mainly uses their powers to start a fire in the fireplace, and spread water around during the dry seasons.
Sometimes, the kids come to visit, staying in the guest house with the extra rooms, and helps out with dinner, the field and their youngest sibling for a few weeks, before going to the village, and continuing their adventures.
Just, nice and domestic TheRuFumi with no real worries, other than the weather and what they should have for dinner the next day

Lashes of a Whip
(Inspired by MDZS(or, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu.)
With the Waves getting stronger and stronger, and the other world becoming more and more desperate, L’Arc has to ask Naofumi for help to save his people, whore starting to starve and freeze as the winter draws near. He's tried to ration and give out food and clothes and blankets and housing where he can, but it's just not enough. Either they'll have to wage an already lost war to try and gain resources, or they'll have to migrate and find a new settlement.
Naofumi proposes they migrate to the world he was summoned to. Seeing no other way out without battle and wounds, he takes the last of his people, just a little more than to fill up the capital to the brim, and takes them to Melromarc’s World.
Since Naofumi hadn't spoken about it to Mirellia before, he leaves his party with L’Arc, Therese, and everyone else to set up a temporary camp, and travels to the capital to speak about it to Mirellia.
However, it doesn't go as he expects.
After what happened at Cal Mira, Mirellia has found it hard to try and trust those who tried to kill their Heroes and doom their world, even if Kizuna saved Naofumi in the labyrinth.
She tells him that she can't risk having those hostile people in her kingdom, and, as cold as the ice of her magic, declares that when found, Sickle's people will be driven from Melromarc’s lands, and eradicated if they refuse, even if they hide away in Naofumi’s village.
Naofumi is shocked, scared, worried, and furious. Mirellia knows he has yet to form any connections with any other countries or lands, and he won't know what's happened if he just shows up with over 100 people from another world on his back, asking for shelter.
Sickle's people, L’Arc, Therese, Glass, Kizuna, everyone will have to become refugees because of past mistakes and misunderstandings.
In a hurry, Naofumi leaves to go back and relay the information to L’Arc and Therese, who's by default become L’Arc’s second-in-command.
L'Arc is shocked, but quickly goes to get the camp packed up, the people assembled, and to tell them they have to go somewhere else for safety.
Naofumi though is riddled by guilt and anger towards himself for thinking this could work out without thinking over every factor, and Naofumi he's responsible for all these people being in constant danger as long as they're in Melromarc, and maybe even the whole world.
The next day, the people of Sickle are quick to start moving and trying to get out of Melromarc as quickly as possible.
But, they're all tired, starved, and cold. Their money isn't taken in Melromarc, and they only have rations for a few weeks left, winter is approaching, and their clothes aren't made for cold weather and snow.
But, they carry on.
Still, Mirellia works fast, and a few days after the start of their travel, Sickle is attacked by Melromarc’s knights and soldiers, with horses and Filolials and countless weapons.
They're told that since they're not yet out of Melromarc, by the commander's orders, they are to be driven out or killed otherwise.
Sickle is attacked, but Naofumi stands his ground to let as many as he can get away safely.
Still, it's hard, and Sickle loses even more people in the fight until Naofumi unlocks a new cursed shield.
Hell Wall.
Standing his ground, Naofumi uses the Cursed shield to create a giant wall of Cursed Fire to keep Melromarc’s forces away but also gets burnt as he's standing in it to keep it up.
He tells everyone to run, that he'll be fine, and he's left there until they're gone from sight, and Melromarc’s forces have given up.
Naofumi gall unconscious in the aftermath, and is taken back to the Castle by the knights, in handcuffs.
Naofumi is on trial for treason, needless battle, and a few other crimes because of what he did.
But, Mirellia can't execute or imprison one of the Four Heroes.
So, while Naofumi is still weakened and affected by the Cursed shield aftermath, he is sentenced to 100 whippings.
As the people and other Heroes watch, Naofumi screams in pain, but only wordless ones, never apologizing for what he did.
By the time the 100th strike hits, Naofumi is lying motionless in the ground, back open and blood seeping, muscles and bones visible.
Due to the curse's effect, and unhealed wounds from before, Naofumi's healing is worse than that of a normal human, and he almost died right then and there, if Melty hadn't secretly called over the healers as soon as blood began coming from Naofumi's back.
While this happens, Raphtalia, Filo, Rishia, L'Arc, Therese, Kizuna, Glass, and anyone able to, try to keep the last 3rd of Sickle's people left safe, until they can find a safe place.
While running from more soldiers on one side and monsters on another, they're pushed into the Mountains, into a valley known for hosting countless monster hives and nests. Even Fitoria tries not to go there if she can help it.
They're all forced to fight endlessly until they've weakly established a bit of land and a few small caves as their own land, but the monsters still attack with large groups and stronger members.
While this is happening, Naofumi is still unconscious from the whipping, and his back needs constant surveillance because of the slow healing, open wounds, and risk of infection and the like.

TheRuFumi Prompt!
A/B/O Dynamics, Royalty AU, Slave Auctions,
(Inspired by TheRuFumi Idea Prompt by @rosesinbloom7love and This post on Twitter. )
*★°*:.☆.:*°★*
Naofumi Iwatani is the first prince of the Shield Kingdom. Ever since the news flooded out that he'd presented as an Omega at age 4, marriage proposals and suitors had come in from all over the world.
People wanted both the power of the most secure and rich Kingdom in the world and also wanted to own the Omega rumored to be more beautiful than any other.
But, Naofumi was raised without any knowledge of this.
He was raised without a worry in the world, happy, content, polite, submissive. He was raised as the perfect Omega. Something his Kingdom could boast about. He was raised to be happy about that, and proud of it.
(Secretly, he wanted more. Naofumi wanted to be able to feel free, not chained down by the Nobility's social rules or gender roles. If they let him, he could train and fight just as well as his younger alpha brother, and he was just as smart, if not more. He could help the Kingdom get even stronger or richer than they already were.
He could more than just marry someone powerful he'd never really met, and give birth to stronger alpha children. Though the idea of pups and a family tempted him and appeased him, it wasn't what he wanted right now. It was something he'd want later, with someone he chose himself, who wanted him too.)
On Naofumi's 20th birthday, it'd been announced that he would get married to a Prince from a foreign country. L'Arc Berg Sickle, the alpha prince of Shroud Kingdom, and vassal wielder of the Scythe.
Naofumi had never met Prince L'Arc before but was sent a portrait of him, and he had to admit, the alpha was very handsome.
However, before Naofumi can travel to Shroud to meet his future husband, he disappears.
Naofumi was kidnapped by a band of slavers who sell at auctions to the highest bidder. They specialize in high-ranking omegas from powerful families.
Shield had been too sure of their high defenses, that the Guards at Naofumi's palace had become sloppy, and Naofumi had been taken during a walk in the garden.
-----
As Naofumi came to, he was blindfolded, he was cold, and his wrists were bound together in front of him.
The second thing he noticed was the overwhelming smell of countless unfamiliar alphas around him.
The realization of being on a stage in front of an audience of power-hungry alphas all with their heavy gazes on him makes Naofumi shiver. As the two alphas holding him up by his arms make him stand on his own, Naofumi sways, still affected by the drugs they used to take him, and a whimper escapes him.
As the bidding starts, Naofumi feels himself freeze and his heart stop with every rising number. Alphas fighting and shouting at each other to get their hands on the beautiful Omegan Prince of the Shield Kingdom as their own personal slave.
As a female voice shouts over everyone else, offering two billion gold coins, everyone else quiets down, and the auctioneer declares the winner of this bidding. Then, Naofumi is dragged off the stage, and thrown into a cage behind the curtains to be picked up after the auction.
From his cold iron cage close to the stage, Naofumi can hear the names of those auctioned off. A few names he recognizes but doesn't know personally, while the rest are more foreign.
At some point, they started auctioning off alphas too. One of the names, Naofumi recognizes.
L'Arc Berg. How they caught him when the Vassal scythe is supposed to nullify Enslavements, Naofumi isn't sure. He's more shocked that the one who was supposed to be his future husband is being auctioned as a slave too.
After the auction is over, the auctioneer requests everyone who bought something to come to the back to give their payments and pick up their merchandise.
Naofumi later recognizes the voice of the lady who bought him, which makes him start shivering again. What is she going to do with him?
As Naofumi is dragged out of the cage and his sore wrists unbound, the lady asks to see him up close. Naofumi sits completely still as the lady holds his face in a surprisingly soft grip with gentle hands.
Then, she whispers.
"Don't worry, we'll get you out of here."
Naofumi doesn't know who 'we' are, but the soft and reassuring voice she uses has Naofumi relaxing just a bit, but he's still shivering.
Then, he's taken along somewhere, before stopping somewhere. The sounds of chains and a creaky cage door are heard before bodies fall to the ground around them.
Naofumi tenses up before falling to sit on the ground, shivering violently, hands reaching up to grip his hair.
Someone kneels in front of Naofumi.
"Naofumi...?" A gentle and deep voice asks
Naofumi only whimpers
"Hey, there. I'm L'Arc Berg. Heh, this isn't exactly how I imagined our first meeting to be like." The voice says
"L'Arc!" The lady hissed
"I know, Therese!" L'Arc whispered back
Naofumi stops gripping his hair and lifts his head.
"Can I take off the blindfold?" L'Arc then asks
Naofumi hesitantly nods, and then feels warm hands around his head, fiddling with the back of the blindfold, before it's taken away.
Naofumi clenched his eyes at the light and tries to blink it away. After getting used to the dim lighting, Naofumi sees the two in front of him.
L'Arc's portrait really didn't do his looks justice. Naofumi stared in awe before his eyes slid over to the lady. From her scent, she was an alpha like L'Arc, and she was gorgeous.
Both L'Arc and Therese were staring at Naofumi, something akin to awe in their eyes.
"Wow... You're beautiful..." L'Arc suddenly whispered
The moment was broken by the sound of people shouting and yelling some distance away.
"Guess the others are finally here," L'Arc said, looking towards where the shouting came from, despite not being able to see it from all the cages in the way
Suddenly Naofumi felt something warm and soft envelop him. Looking up, he saw Therese smiling down at him.
"You looked cold," Therese smiled gently
Naofumi thanked her quietly and clutched the dark blue cloak she'd put over him closer, liking the scent hanging on it.
After getting out of the place, and into a carriage waiting outside while the Royal Knights took down the slave auction and released the slaves, Naofumi was explained what was going on.
For one, they were apparently in Shroud, at least a week's travel away from Shield. L'Arc had gotten information about the illegal place auctioning off children of powerful or rich families, and set out to put a stop to it, by infiltrating it from the inside.
Now, they were on their way to Shroud's Royal Castle.
-----
After weeks of staying at Shroud's Palace, Naofumi had been spending a lot of time with L'Arc and Therese and getting closer to them. They helped him when he got scared because of memories of the slave auction, and let him lean on them for support when he needed it.
They even helped him learn self-defense, just in case something like that should ever happen again.
After a few weeks, Naofumi's younger brother arrived in Shroud to escort Naofumi back home to Shield.
When bidding L'Arc and Therese goodbye, Naofumi had impulsively pulled the tow into a hug, and given them a kiss on the cheek each.
-----
When Naofumi came back to Shield, he'd gone directly to his parents and asked them to let him learn to fight, to protect himself in case something should happen again. Neither wanted him to learn something like that as an Omega and only offered to station more guards at his castle.
Naofumi refused and mentioned how even his mother, a fellow omega, knew how to protect herself. Then, they gave in and allowed Naofumi to learn how to use a shield, their national weapon.
Also, after coming back to Shield, Naofumi started missing L'Arc and Therese, and slowly but surely realized.
He'd fallen in love with both of them.

Personal Headcanons ⭐️:
L'Arc and Therese had fallen in love with Naofumi the moment they'd seen him without the blindfold. No painting could ever do his beauty justice, so beautiful he was.
L'Arc and Therese are childhood friends but aren't allowed to be together, since relationships between two alphas without a shared omega are seen as taboo.
Naofumi hadn't been too sure about his marriage with L'Arc, since he didn't know what kind of person the prince was, but he accepted it since he'd been raised like that.
Naofumi's younger brother is especially protective of him, as all alphas are of their omega family members.
Naofumi snuck into L'Arc and Therese's rooms multiple times during his time in Shroud, because of nightmares, slept with them in their beds on those nights.

Conversation
L'Arc: Guys, the test came back.. I'm dying.
Naofumi, getting up: I'll be back in a bit
L'Arc: Where are you going?
Naofumi: I'm about to find Death and beat it into submission. Don't worry, you won't die.
Raphtalia: But that's impossible?
Therese: Just... Let him. Everyone deals with greif in their own way.
*A week later, in the newpapers, there is a picture of Naofumi holding a skeleton in a cloak by the neck, fist up and ready to hit with the headline "Local Shield Hero beats Death in combat despite having no attack power."*
Everyone, looking over L'Arc's shoulders at the newspaper: How the f—
