why does the pjo series have to unnecessarily villainize goddesses (hera & athena) or show them as silly ladies (aphrodite & demeter) BUT posiedon and apollo are somehow shown as the coolest/most likeable gods, even though arguably, they're right after zeus on terms of corruption?

ares shown as the worst god after zeus and hera amuses me. last time i checked, he was the patron god of amazons and literally killed a man for attempting to rape his daughter but guess who cursed women for rejection? apollo. guess who raped women when they said no (aside from zeus)? posiedon.

So you know how Starlight Express was supposed to be a Thomas the Tank Engine musical but that idea was rejected so it became its own thing? Combine that with the fact that Thomas gets easily jealous of other steam engines who are 'better' than him and oh boy...

That makes him the perfect Dark Curse for this AU.

#aristotle.txt #im tired of pretending its bad man i just dont think so #bnha is for the most part a thematically consistent series #you can disagree with the moral choices of the characters or the direction #but the story itself is well structured #the main ensemble is fleshed out and so is the world building #the biggest issue is pacing and some of the side character arcs #but the main characters are well integrated. the narrative foils of heros and villains is there #there is a lot of things i am critical of in the series and openly voice #but the story itself is overall better than it is worse and i am tired of pretending it is not !!!! #it gets so much shit on twitter like jhkjfdjksdkj #a lot of the hate feels so contrived and based solely on the anime production its not my pookies fault bones dgaf

I will never stop loving books with villains who were so obviously meant to be a (if not the) hero. Like prophesy and everything. But something goes wrong along the way, or maybe it doesn’t, but either way the villain realizes “with my powers..,only a fool would take orders. Only a fool would use it so pathetically as to not achieve greatness.” And then along comes the new hero, the perfect foil of the villain and it’s so painful as they stare at each other in different types of horror realizing “this is everything I could have been”

Do current Marvel Writers hate Professor Xavier or something?

#the past years’ comics’ writing makes no sense for his character #not to say he isn’t manipulative or a chessmaster in planning #but it seems very clear to me that the writers are doing everything they can to make the founding leader and father figure of the X-Men #as comically irredeemable and unlikeable as possible #in comparison to their obvious favorites #professor charles xavier #is no saint #but his main motivation had always been for mutants and humans to live together in harmony #so it makes no sense for him to be so obsessive towards Krakoa #to the point of sacrificing his own people and dooming humanity #if you want the original team to grow past depending on their leader you can do that without destroying their relationships #and the whole ‘you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain’ schtick for charles is not a good look for Marvel #but this is just my opinion #an unpopular one but mine all the same #in my previous blog #I’ve said before that the only good thing to come out of the Krakoa arc #were the outfits #but now i feel like nothing about Krakoa was worth exploring as an arc #again #just my opinion #if the ‘97 X-Men series keeps fast forwarding through different arcs #i wonder if they will make the Krakoa arc easier to stomach if they include it at all #x men #xmen #marvel comics #marvel

Sorry, I'm just gonna rant in the tags for a bit.

#long story short I don't know if I'll ever be able to write FOP #I can't make it a hero's jounrey because it spans too many years #but I can't cut those years because they're the character development and the whole reason for the story #so I thought I'd split it up into three different stories but then there's no real ending to the first part #there's too many characters but I can't just remove them because some of them matter later and the others are dear to my heart #I've fallen out of love with the Jasio romance arc because I'm too attached to Henry #but I can't just replace Rio with Henry because they're distinct people with different stories #and Vesely is too complicated and also not involved enough so the main villain is already screwed up #and the whole story feels weak because I can't write conflict to save my life #and I can't just try to work on a different story because Freaks is all I can care about right now #I just feel so hopeless I'm sorry for rambling like this

To start off this post I just wanna say, I hold mp100 dear to my heart and I say this with love, but.. I feel off put whenever people talk about the bad shit that anime usually has, and then say that. Mp100 has none of it. Because, like... sure, it has less of it than the usual, and I appreciate it for that, but that doesn't mean that it, doesn't have it at all? I mean. The transmisogynistic joke in episode 2. The fatphobia in season 2's episode 2. The lack of female main characters, Takeuchi's racist design.... don't get me wrong, the show is still great and I love it very much as I said, but you can love a show and appreciate all the things that it got right while not disregarding the things that it got wrong. You don't have to hate it for those things, you don't even have to necessarily talk about them if you don't want to. You just shouldn't deny that they exist in that media in the first place. That feels really disingenuous to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: GOTG have the smoothest, most planned, movie series with a satisfying ending.

[SPOILERS]

It shows that:

- the main male lead and female lead doesn't have to end up together

- endings doesn't have to be tragic or sad to be remarkable

- heroes deserve to be saved too

- people change, and that's okay

- keep the character arc constant throughout different movies

- give villain's minions some character and thoughts. When High Revolutionary's subordinate went against him? And that Ura girl? Amazing.

- some villains can have no sob backstory and justification of what they done and still be a good villain (story-wise), and audience don't need to empathize. It's ok if they just want to cheer heroes as they kick the villain's ass

- You can make good jokes WITHOUT undermining the emotional aspect. Go ahead, joke, but know where to stop. I feel that's what new MCU movies lacked lately.
