My Hispanic coworker approaches me unprovoked & truly out of nowhere to ask me if it's okay for someone like him to use the n word casually. Dunno where it came from. Dunno why he asked. Nobody was discussing this whatsoever. But he does it w this malisciousness he's trying to be humorous ab, I guess. Im not entertained tho, so i answer him no. And told him I wasn't even going to explain why bc I got the sense that he was trying to be "funny". So bc i didn't give him the response or reaction he was fiending for (*this is not the first time he's done this), he decides to segue into this justification as to why it should be okay since he's from New York. His excuse being: All races of non blacks there use the slur, regardless of it being just that. I tell him, "that'd be like me telling you that I can use any of the slurs there are for Hispanics just bc ppl use them here in Florida". He asks me, "which ones? Go ahead, use them." To which I sensibly declined. Cus wtf do i get out of it, right? I didn't proposition him w this dumbass conversation.

I'm even more lost as to what he was looking to gain by following up w just saying nigga anyhow — but before I could think ab it I checked him. Quick af. Harsh af. Now he acting squeamish like the white ppl when they fuck up on the same damn thing. This is why this "pee oh see" shit just doesn't hit for me. This is why I steer clear of that, "we're all the same/experience oppression the same way" shit. Bc of shit like this. When nbpoc intentionally say/do antiblack shit this out of pocket. I wasn't bothering him, I've never disrespected him culturally, & no one held a gun to his head & made him say that ignorant shit to me. But like i said, this isn't the first time he's done this, either. Anyhow, he's fucked for me. There is no redemption. Debating whether or not to take action on this. Doesn't help he did it in front of my manager — who was crickets. But then I overheard him trying to victimize ab my silence, since I guess it seemed aggressive?🙄😂 Lmao. Yuh. He done. Check yourselves, nbpoc. Yall are not as different or more reserved w your antiblackness as you think. And we keep telling yall that shit. 😅

This article really does hit the nail on the head when it cames to NBPOC and the Black Panther franchise. I myself even got an ask on the subject a few years back.

I’m happy that Ryan Coogler and many of the Black creatives who’re responsible for Black Panther’s success decided to open the door for further inclusion, but let’s not forget that when Black Panther first came out many NBPOC were more interested in trying to decent Blackness in a film that was about celebrating the myriads of the Black identity. And it wasn’t just Black Panther that had its Blackness decentered, it was other Black movies/Tv shows like Girl’s Trip, Get Out, Moonlight, etc.

It’s just interesting to me that Black people are expected to do this kind of labor for others while also being heavily critiqued for not being “Inclusive enough” in our movements. Meanwhile NBPOC are more than happy to exclude the Afrolatinos, Black Queers, Afro Asians, and other Black people who exist within their own communities.

I still remember Gina Rodriguez throwing shade at all the Black joy that his movie brought. I still remember MIA throwing shade at Beyonce for openly talking about Black Lives Matter. Or the post that demanded Black people support Aquaman in the same manner we supported Black Panther because “Polynesians need representation too”. I still remember the multiple tweets, and comments and reddit posts about how Black Panther’s mere existence wasn’t fair to NBPOC and that Black people should move mountains to give NBPOC the same thing that Black Panther gave us.

And let me reiterate, I’m happy that Ryan Coogler has chosen to use his platform to be inclusive and to share the joy and build bridges...but I’m also not about to ignore the fact that so many people came into my mentions and on my posts, and in the posts of my mutuals to try and act like Black people were getting too much attention and needed to move to the back of the bus to let NBPOC have a turn.

I can't believe there was a time I thought being asexual was easy.

What makes it worse is that I truly believed it was even well into my research when I finally realized I was asexual.

I was watching Spacey Aces on YouTube and laughing at the idea that aphobia exists.

"How could people hate on people doing nothing?"

"Surely no one is that stupid. Aces can't possibly suffer."

Well, I still hold that logic. The main reason I'm openly aroace is because I dare anyone to be stupid enough to shit on my day. Another reason is to raise awareness.

I don't like the misconceptions people have on what it means to be asexual. I want people to understand not everyone is the same. I want people to realise just how sexual the world is and how there are a fistful of hurdles aces have to withstand to exist serenely.

Like,,,,I hate to have to say this like this but. This just a thought. Idk where this perpetuation around dsbw being insecure w their complexions ever came from cus. When I tell yall I see & hear such blatant, more outwardly obvious insecurities way more often among dsbm than I ever do among dsbw, chile. Alotta these niggas lowkey be way too insecure to romantically pursue dsbw if they're dark skinned themselves & that shit is beyond weird.

And there definitely seems to be a correlation between how it seem like, the darker the nigga, the more colorist or self hating the reflection of his self worth & cultural value is in his dating patterns. Cus they exclusively lay up w, simp for & pedestalize non black women so aggressively (whom oddly enough can never retain their own non black cultural identity once they have the attention of black men — which to me off rip should be the most obvious & telltale sign of fetishism rather than personal attraction but).

Everybody (& i mean every, damn, body non black lol) got they hand out pouring all this energy into projecting that they have a relevance, understanding or proximity to blackness nowadays in this tsunami of an appropriative ass social "wave" — & these delusionally vindictive ass niggas leave the door propped wide ass open for em to walk thru, loiter, falsely claim our creativity & wash us out. And then spend the better part of the serial interracial relationships they be in cockily, relentlessly shitting on black women anywhere from like 60-100% of the time anyway. Mad props & appreciation for black men out here unafraid to be unpopularly centered — cus on God the average nigga don't even realize he the average nigga fr.
